Military incompetence refers to incompetencies and failures of military organisations, whether through incompetent individuals or through a flawed institutional culture.

 

The effects of isolated cases of personal incompetence can be disproportionately significant in military organisations. Hamza Abdi Barre became Somalia's 21st prime minister Saturday after receiving unanimous approval from Lower House MPs, as per Somalia's Radio Dalsan.

 

On June 15, Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed lawmaker Hamza Abdi Barre as the new Prime Minister.

 

At the time, Somalia's President said: โ€œI have based on my decision after assessing the knowledge, experience, capability of Hamza, and I came to the conclusion he is the right person who can discharge this new responsibility in this new Somalia at this new time.โ€

 

He ordered lawmakers to approve the new prime minister "as soon as possible," adding that he had asked Barre to advance the new government's key priorities most notably security, drought response, reconciliation, community development, and climate shock response.

 

Four consecutive failed rainy seasons, combined with high inflation, have left millions of Somalis facing food insecurity. Barre vowed to form a capable government capable of rescuing the country and its people.

 

โ€œI pledge to you as president and to the Somali people that I will work day and night and will stand up in discharging by obligation,โ€ he said.

 

Who is Hamza Barre?

 

Last December, Barre, 48, was elected to parliament for the first time. He was previously the chairman of the Jubaland regional electoral commission.

 

From 2011 to 2017, Barre was the secretary-general of Mohamud's Peace and Development Party. He is also a former senior adviser to the federal government and the Ministry of Constitutional Affairs.

 

He taught for many years in Mogadishu and Kismayo. He is a senior lecturer at Mogadishu University and a co-founder of Kismayo University.

 

Barre's appointment came exactly one month after Mohamud was elected president in a parliamentary vote, defeating Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed.

Newman thinks the next move by the Deep State may be a combination of crises that could include the collapse of the buying power of the U.S. dollar and a food crisis that is already a lock in the not-so-distant future. Newman warns, โ€œWhatโ€™s going on in Russia and Ukraine, we cannot count out. There is a very real prospect of that expanding. . . . Desperate people do desperate things. This is just like with an animal that has been backed into a corner. When you get an animal in that situation, they are really left with few options other than attack and do something dangerous, and I think that is where we are at. They recognize that they need crises to advance their agenda. They need to terrify the population. . . . and it has to be done in a way that their finger prints are not on this, and instead of people turning on each other, they will start looking for them.โ€

Newman says, โ€œThe country can be turned around and it needs to be turned around, but itโ€™s going to take work . . . and maybe intervention by the Good Lord.โ€ Newman closes by saying, โ€œThere is no silver bullet.โ€

Within the span of one day, Israeli regime forces assassinated two Palestinians, a 32-year-old worker and a teenager, across the occupied territories.

Also on Tuesday, Al-Alam television network reported that Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire on a Palestinian adolescent in the town of Majd Al-Krum, killing him instantly.

 

According to local accounts, the boy was slain following a confrontation with Israeli soldiers, who also injured another Palestinian.

 

According to the reports, the injured Palestinian was arrested by the IOF.

Ottawa Police have blocked access to Parliament Hill and suited up in riot gear just hours into a fresh round of protests in the Canadian Capital. As large numbers of protestors began to arrive in the city, the Ottawa Police Service blocked off dozens of roads and accused the protestors of inciting violence.

 

The weekend-long event dubbed โ€œRolling Thunderโ€ has no stated goal beyond โ€œpeacefully celebrating freedom.โ€ It was organized by bikers who participated in this winterโ€™s Freedom Convoy protests against vaccine mandates.

 

Police were already readying a heavy-handed response before the protestors even arrived. Ottawa Police Chief Steve Bell said that an โ€œoccupationโ€ would be met with force, adding that any vehicles or mobile homes that attempt to block traffic would be towed.

 

This winterโ€™s protests featured scores of trucks and mobile homes that camped outside Canadian government buildings for weeks. The Trudeau government subsequently labelled the peaceful protests an โ€œillegal occupationโ€ and declared martial law in order to quell them.

 

Just hours into the protest, which is supposed to run through Sunday, Ottawa law enforcement accused the crowd of inciting violence and deployed riot police. โ€œDue to an escalation of crowd aggression, officers are deployed in helmets and shields for their protection in order to clear the crowd at Rideau and Sussex,โ€ wrote the Ottawa Police Service in a tweet.

 

Lincoln Jay of Rebel News is reporting on the ground near police lines where dozens of riot police equipped with shields and helmets can be seen standing around a group of semi-trucks. An officer told Jay that things โ€œgot out of handโ€ but would not elaborate further.

 

In addition, law enforcement has blocked off multiple blocks in downtown Ottawa. This includes Parliament Hill, where a rally is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. An Ottawa police officer told Jay that she expects the road closures to last until Sunday.

The US is seeking to make the conflict in Ukraine more costly for Moscow than whatever Russian President Vladimir Putin hoped to achieve, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl said on Tuesday. The US goal is โ€œto make sure that Ukraine can defend itself, that a sovereign independent democratic Ukraine endures, that we give Ukraine the capability to strengthen their position at the bargaining table,โ€ Kahl explained, and to โ€œimpose a cost on Russia in excess to whatever benefits Vladimir Putin hopes to achieve through this conflict.โ€

 

โ€œOur goal was not regime change in Russia,โ€ Kahl told the CNAS conference. President Joe Biden famously said otherwise in late March. US direct intervention

While the US has generally approved the strikes under review, current and former officials claim the US has occasionally asked "Israel" for changes.

 

The US urged "Israel" to pause its strikes at least twice in order to avoid complicating the battle space while the US military was engaged in "sensitive operations", they claimed.

 

However, US officials say that a portion of Israeli airstrikes donโ€™t pass near Al-Tanf base and thus arenโ€™t reviewed by the US, including the latest Israeli aggression on Damascus Airport.

Democrat President Jimmy Carter ran into trouble right after taking over from Republican Nixon's vice-president Gerald Ford. Korean businessman and Washington lobbyist Tongsun Park was charged in 1976 with bribing US Congressmen between $100,000 and $200,000 each for political favours โ€” allegedly including reversing Nixon's decision to withdraw US forces from the country.

The Iran-Contra Affair

Faced with a series of Congress votes to limit US funding for the notorious Nicaraguan Contras fighting the democratically-elected Sandinista government of Daniel Ortega, Ronald Reagan's administration sought covert means to arm the guerrillas regardless of how many atrocities they were accused of.

Then-National Security Council member Colonel Oliver North was given the task of smuggling TOW anti-tank and HAWK surface-to-air missiles to the US' declared enemy Iran, then under an arms embargo. The money raised was used to buy arms for the Contras.

 

The scandal was exposed in 1986, and North was eventually convicted in 1989 of taking an "illegal gratuity" and obstruction charges. His three-year sentence was suspended. Others indicted over the affair included Reagan's defence secretary Caspar Weinberger. Among those convicted was Elliot Abrams, later appointed US envoy to Venezuela by Donald Trump.

But the accused were pardoned in 1993 by outgoing president George H W Bush, who was VP to Reagan at the time of the arms deals.

Two inquiries declared that Reagan had not known about the arms sales to Iran, despite Weinberger's written notes showing he knew of missile sales to "moderate elements" in Iran and potential deals to have hostages released. North was later elected president of the National Rifle Association from 2018 to 2019.

Bush senior's successor Bill Clinton couldn't keep it in his pants for long after occupying the White House. His two terms in office were overshadowed by the salacious story of his affair with intern Monica Lewinsky, who performed oral sex on him in the Oval Office.

This deal gave Cyrk access to the trading company's manufacturing arrangements in Asia. The nature of the business had reputed links that were part of the British opium dynasty, that sought to subjugate China starting in the 19th Century.

 

 

Among the reputed links to Simon Marketing are the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank which financed the opium trade starting more than 150 years ago. In recent years, in a taped interview, the manager of what was the bank's unit in Chicago clearly admitted the same to us.

 

 

The bank's parent, Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank Corp., HSBC, was in the process of merging in 1999, with the reputed international criminal banking center, tied to the Russian mafia and Colombia/U.S. dope cartel, Republic National Bank of New York, headed by international gold smuggling tycoon Edmond Safra.

Yesterday, after less than one full day of deliberations, a D.C. jury stacked with pro-Hillary Clinton jurors acquitted former Clinton campaign attorney Michael Sussmann, proving the FBI is not โ€œoursโ€ but the swampโ€™s.

 

Just more than two weeks ago, prosecutor Brittain Shaw began opening statements in United States v. Sussmann, by stating the obvious: โ€œSome people have very strong feelings about politics and about Russia, and many people have strong feelings about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.โ€

 

โ€œBut we are not here because these allegations involve either of them,โ€ Shaw continued. โ€œNor are we here because the defendantโ€™s client was the Clinton campaign.โ€ Rather, โ€œwe are here because the FBI is our institution that should not be used as a political tool for anyone; not Republicans, not Democrats, not anyone.โ€

 

But after hearing overwhelming evidence that Sussmann lied when he told the then-FBI General Counsel James Baker he was providing data and whitepapers about a supposed secret communications channel between Trump and the Russian-based Alfa Bank on his own behalf, when in fact Sussmann was representing both the Clinton campaign and tech executive Rodney Joffe, the 12 D.C. residents found Sussmann not guilty.

 

It was not the verdict, however, that confirmed that the FBI belongs to career bureaucrats, high-powered D.C. elites who revolve in and out of the government as political appointees, and the families and friends of all the above. Rather, it was the speed with which the acquittal came, coupled with the in-court testimony and other evidence exposed by the special counsel throughout the prosecution that proved the FBI isnโ€™t Americaโ€™s anymore.

 

After hearing from some 20 witnesses, all but a few testifying for the prosecution, the jury spent a couple of hours on Friday deliberating before the long Memorial Day weekend. Tuesday morning, the 12 jurors returned to the D.C. federal courthouse to continue deliberations. But after requesting to see a copy of Sussmannโ€™s taxi receipt and one of the whitepapers Sussmann peddled to Baker, they delivered their verdict of โ€œnot guilty.โ€

 

In total, then, the jury did not even deliberate for a full day, which means not one of the 12 jurors pushed the other 11 to wade through the detailed evidence presented by the special counselโ€™s office. Who could blame them, though, if the governmentโ€™s own witnesses registered more offense at Congress for investigating the Russia collusion hoax than they did at Sussmann for misleading the FBI.

 

Consider Baker, to whom Sussmann was charged with lying. The former FBI general counsel testified he was โ€œ100 percent confidentโ€ Sussmann said during their September 19, 2016 meeting that he was not representing a client. Baker also told the jury he likely wouldnโ€™t have taken the meeting if he knew Sussmann represented the Clinton campaign.

 

Yet Baker blamed himself for throwing Sussmann โ€œinto a maelstromโ€ and expressed outrage at how the congressmen investigating the investigation into Trump and his campaign behaved when they questioned Baker about his meeting with Sussmann. Baker displayed not even a sliver of the same distress over his friend lying to him.

 

On the contrary, when asked why he had just discovered the text message Sussmann sent him the night before their meeting, in which Sussmann wrote, โ€œIโ€™m coming on my own โ€“ not on behalf of a client or company. [W]ant to help the Bureau,โ€ Baker told prosecutors: โ€œIโ€™m not out to get Michael. This is not my investigation. This is your investigation. If you ask me a question, I answer it. You asked me to look for something, I go look for it.โ€

On the other hand, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev stressed today that the Russian special military operation in Ukraine will achieve its goals despite the United States and other Western countries providing military aid to Kiev.

 

Russia has previously sent a note to NATO countries against the background of supplying arms to Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, indicated that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia.

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry also stated that NATO countries were "playing with fire" by providing arms to Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, in St. Petersburg on Saturday to discuss several issues, including regional security and fertilizer exports.

Lithuanian authorities have announced that there has been a ban on the transit through their territory to Kaliningrad, Russia, of goods subject to sanctions imposed by the European Union starting last Saturday.

 

 

Senator Konstantin Kosachev, the deputy speaker of the upper house of Russiaโ€™s parliament, said that Lithuania broke international law when it implemented the economic "blockade" on Russia's Kaliningrad Region. In a statement via his Telegram channel, Kosachev said "Lithuania is a flagship of the destruction of international law."

 

 

The region is a Russian enclave that falls between EU and NATO members Poland and Lithuania, both of whom have staunchly been opposing Russia since the start of the Ukraine war, exporting arms to Kiev and imposing sanctions on Moscow.

On fertilizers, Putin said that the two countries were the world's largest exporters of crop nutrients. Russia alone exports about 15% of the world's fertilizers, he estimated.

 

 

"A lack of fertilizers will, of course, cut crop forecasts for the next year. It is very sad," the president said.

 

 

UN chief Antonio Guterres said earlier this month that fertilizer prices had more than doubled. He warned that the world faced shortages of all staple crops next year and urged to bring Russian crops and fertilizers back into world markets despite the conflict.

 

 

Western sanctions on Moscow and Mink imposed over the war in Ukraine have undermined Russia and Belarus's sales of agricultural products around the globe, which prompted the Kremlin to suspend the export of fertilizers.

 

 

The sanctions fired back against the West, surging food prices in March to their highest levels ever, while the International Monetary Fund warned in April that global food prices would likely rise further in the future due to the war, the sanctions on Russia and Belarus, and climate issues ravaging the planet.

Earlier this year, Whitmer first filed a lawsuit in her role as governor asking the court to declare that a 1931 Michigan abortion ban violates the due process and equal protection clauses of the Michigan constitution. That 1931 ban has been unenforceable since Roe was decided but remains on the books.

 

A lower court had stayed enforcement of the law pending the Dobbs decision. On Friday, in response to Dobbs, Whitmer filed a motion โ€œasking the Michigan Supreme Court to immediately consider her lawsuit asking the court to decide if Michiganโ€™s state constitution protects the right to abortion.โ€

 

Since the draft opinion in Dobbs leaked last month, Whitmer has also been whipping up public sentiment in advance of any hearing before the Michigan Supreme Court. โ€œNow is the time to use every tool in our toolbox to protect all aspects of reproductive health care,โ€ Whitmer said in a May press release, promising that she is โ€œgoing to fight like h-ll so every Michigander can make decisions about their own body.โ€

 

โ€œHowever we personally feel about abortion, health, not politics, should drive important medical decisions,โ€ Whitmer argued, adding that โ€œa woman must be able to make her own medical decisions with the advice of a health-care professional she trusts. Politicians should not make that decision for her.โ€

Lying to the Public

Beyond her euphemistic reference to โ€œhealth careโ€ and โ€œmedical decisions,โ€ Whitmer seeks to hide the extreme abortion regime she wants for Michigan by diverting attention from the impact of a Michigan Supreme Court decision declaring the existence of a state constitutional right to abortion. She does this in two ways.

 

First, Whitmer focuses on the lack of a rape or incest exception to the 1931 abortion ban to create the impression that her lawsuit would merely render just that aspect of the law unconstitutional. But, if Whitmer succeeds in having a state constitutional right to abortion divined in the due process or equal protection clauses of the Michigan constitution, the state legislature would be unable to regulate abortion and taxpayer-funded abortions could be mandated.

 

Whitmer also misleads the public by citing a poll that 77 percent of Michiganders โ€œbelieve abortion should be a womanโ€™s decision.โ€ That poll, however, failed to inquire about respondentsโ€™ views on any specifics, such as whether taxpayer-funded abortions should be constitutionally required or late-term abortions permitted.

 

What about parental notification or consent laws? Or laws banning abortions based on the sex of the unborn child? Such laws are widely supported, yet if Whitmer succeeds in her lawsuit, the Michigan Supreme Court would wrest those questions away from the legislative branch.

 

That is precisely what Whitmer and other abortion apologists want. They know that no matter how many polls they trot out, most of America does not want the extreme abortion regime that exists in California and the other states where courts have declared a state constitutional right to abortion exists.

 

The justices of the Michigan Supreme Court, like those on the Kansas Supreme Court, may not care. But on August 2, 2022, weโ€™ll know if Kansans do, and pro-life advocates would be wise to watch the developments in both states to ensure that Dobbsโ€™ promise to return the question to the people is fulfilled.

Tatyana discovered many more infants had died at the hospital in similarly odd circumstances. And after intensive lobbying, the authorities eventually agreed to have the tiny bodies of around 30 babies exhumed and examined.

Tatyana showed me the video she had been allowed to record of the post-mortem examinations that followed. The gruesome film shows the carcasses of babies, some of whom were full-term, with their organs and brains missing. Neurones in infants' brain are a rich source of stem cells.

As part of the second stage of the inquiry, the council will no doubt want to talk in detail to staff at Maternity Hospital Number Six. But whether they will get any answers is another matter - as I discovered when I tried to speak to the hospital authorities myself.

It was a grim scene. As I waited for hours at Maternity Hospital Number Six, heavily pregnant women in maternity smocks wandered past me in its dark corridors, along with the occasional elderly midwife.

Putinโ€™s remarks came shortly after State Department spokesperson Ned Price said that the United States is still considering a range of weapon systems for Ukraine it could use against the Russian forces in light of the war unfolding in the country.

 

He also claimed that the United States would not provide Kiev with long-range rockets that could be used to launch attacks outside the country.

 

Since the start of the war, the United States has deployed more than 100,000 of its troops to NATO member states, and the European Union also chipped in, sending $500 million worth of arms and equipment to Kiev. The shipments are still going to Ukraine despite the repeated Russian warning that such influx to the conflict zone in Ukraine was adding fuel to the fire.

 

Bloomberg had warned in late April that US arms stocks would run out within a few months if the White House continues to send military supplies to Ukraine. The military equipment packages include artillery systems and munitions, in addition to armored personnel carriers.

FDA Authorizes The COVID Jab For Kids Five Years and Under

 

The Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines have officially been authorized for emergency use in young children by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to allow vaccination in children as young as 6 months.

 

The FDA announced the move in a press release on Friday morning.

 

However, vaccines cannot officially be given to children until the US Centers for Disease Control and Preventionโ€™s (CDC) vaccine advisers vote to recommend them. The move from the CDC appears to be a simple formality, and a vote is scheduled for Saturday.

 

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky has already signed off on the recommendation.

 

The White House said Thursday that vaccinations for Americaโ€™s youngest children might begin next week.

 

Modernaโ€™s vaccine is now authorized for use in children six months through 17 years, and Pfizer/BioNTechโ€™s for children six months through 4 years.

 

The latest authorization means that an additional 17 million kids under the age of 5 are now eligible for Covid-19 vaccines.

 

โ€œMany parents, caregivers and clinicians have been waiting for a vaccine for younger children and this action will help protect those down to 6 months of age. As we have seen with older age groups, we expect that the vaccines for younger children will provide protection from the most severe outcomes of COVID-19, such as hospitalization and death,โ€ FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert M. Califf said in a news release.

 

โ€œThose trusted with the care of children can have confidence in the safety and effectiveness of these COVID-19 vaccines and can be assured that the agency was thorough in its evaluation of the data.โ€

 

So far, 49 states have pre-ordered the vaccine for children under five. Only Florida has chosen, under the direction of Governor Ron DeSantis, not to order the vaccine. DeSantis has repeatedly said that the state is opposed to vaccine programs for young children.

A dubious meme has emerged online in conservative circles: The price of gasoline will spike because Joe Biden is taking office.

 

The theory is that the president-elect's coming efforts to wean the United States off oil will nail people's pocketbooks. Conservative corners of Facebook are filled with viral photos of gas station signs with prices above $5 a gallon. โ€œJust a reminder of what things looked like the last time Biden was in the White House,โ€ reads one image.

 

But this vastly overstates a president's power to control the cost of a commodity traded on a world market. Although a president's actions โ€” including Biden's climate policies โ€” can nudge the price of oil, the effect is marginal at best, experts say.

 

โ€œThe scale of the global oil market,โ€ said Pavel Molchanov, an oil analyst at Raymond James, โ€œis so massive that it would be extremely unlikely for any single political decision, anywhere in the world, to materially affect oil prices.โ€

 

Simply put, neither Biden nor President Trump have a secret lever at the Resolute Desk that makes the price of oil go drastically up or down.
