Arizona largely cuts ties with BlackRock investment firm in ESG backlash

 

Many states began to publicly divest funds from the increasingly politically active investment advisor.

 

Arizona state treasurer Kimberly Yee says the state began phasing out any investment management ties with BlackRock in February.

 

Yee said in a statement Thursday that her office faced numerous questions about its ties with the investing firm, as other states began to publicly divest funds from the increasingly politically active investment advisor.

 

โ€At the beginning of this year, I led in the national divestment effort to remove any exposure we had with BlackRock,โ€ Yee said in a statement.

 

โ€œIn February of 2022, my office divested more than $543 million from BlackRock money market funds and reduced our direct exposure to BlackRock by 97% this year.L

 

The move was smaller than it might appear. According to the statement 98% of Arizona state treasury investments were already managed โ€œin-house.โ€

 

BlackRock was used for โ€œmoney market funds for daily liquidity needs.โ€ BlackRock and the state never had a contract. Yee said that BlackRock Chief Executive Officer Larry Finkโ€™s political leanings helped drive the decision to divest, noting his โ€œannual lettersโ€ to companies had a political agenda.

 

โ€œIn short, BlackRock moved from a traditional asset manager to a political action committee,โ€ the treasurer continued. Fink has advocated for several liberal policies, including achieving net zero carbon emissions and the concept of โ€œstakeholder capitalism,โ€ according to one recent letter.

 

BlackRock is the biggest asset manager globally with $10 trillion in assets, Business Insider reported.

 

Several other states have also divested hundreds of millions from BlackRock, including Texas, Louisiana, Utah, Arkansas and South Carolina, according to The Washington Times.

 

Yee echoed the sentiment of these states in her criticism of โ€œwokeismโ€ and its influence in corporate America.

 

โ€We will continue to fight back against the dangerous path of companies pushing their social issues and wokeism inside of the investment space and return to traditional money management that puts the people first,โ€ she said.

Pic reminds me of a dream/vision I had recently. I was outside on a stormy night with some other people. There was a dark column rising into the sky and from the top of it were 3 fat and sinuous electric arcs projecting upward into the storm clouds. As bright as lightening but fat and continuous.

Someone nearby said something and I saw they were looking into another area of the night sky. There were two huge artifacts. One, a colorful sphere made up of twinkling lights like a firework from a mortar, but constant. The other was like a Ferris wheel of colorful lights.

I thought immediately of project blue beam and the Norway spirals.

Over the last week anons have been posting pics of lightning and storms but don't know how it's related, if at all.

Today, after remaining silent for 40 days, and with increased national sentiment in strong opposition to the election fraud that happened, Jair Bolsonaro spoke to a massive crowd telling them the military would follow the constitution and determine the outcome. The certification of the election is scheduled for Monday.

 

It appears that Bolsonaro is telling the people of Brazil that whatever the people do, they will not suffer at the hand of the Brazilian military โ€“ it appears Bolsonaro has the word of the generals within the military to support the people and not conduct violence against them. WATCH:

 

It is highly probable, given the stakes of the matter, that Joe Biden has signed a โ€˜finding memoโ€™ authorizing the U.S State Department and CIA to conduct covert influence operations in the country. Twitter Files #4 Released, Rules Changed to Target Trump โ€“ While Elon Musk Hints COVID Censorship Files are Forthcoming

The fourth installment of the Twitter Files release dropped yesterday evening.. Essentially, the executive filtration team in control of Twitter content was looking for ways to stop Donald Trump from using the platform and they modified all existing rules and moderation guidelines to follow. One of the ways they justified their action was to infer motive for any content that President Trump provided through his Twitter account. โ€œUltimately on January 8, 2021, Twitter says its ban is based on โ€œspecifically how [Trumpโ€™s tweets] are being received & interpreted.โ€โ€ The Twitter executives decided to reach their end goal of shutting down Trumpโ€™s voice, the way his message could be interpreted was their best justification.

Twitter File walks through the internal conversation at Twitter in early January 2021, but again heavily redacts the specifics of who was participating in many of the conversations.Also missing is any contact by government officials or representatives of the Biden team as the transition period was ongoing. Given the nature of the previous contacts from the Biden campaign, the absence of communication from the transition period in Twitter File #4 release is stark. Three other interesting Twitter developments below.

โ™ฆ Additional scrutiny is finally beginning to surface toward the DHS/FBI network that is running in the background of Twitter.It is critical to remind ourselves that DHS Twitter is still the current Twitter as it is being witnessed and these files released.

Twitter user โ€œNameRedacted,โ€ a familiar account that has gone through many modifications since it was originally created and then banned from the platform, went through the public profiles of the Twitter officers currently on staff and started identifying all of the FBI officials that remain employed. The list is rather extensive [SEE HERE].

People are starting to ask questions about why so many officials from the U.S. intelligence community were hired by Twitter. Management roles?โ€

The current DHS involvement in Twitter surfaces with the thread created by NameRedacted being suppressed by the same algorithmic tools and control flags described within the previous Twitter file release. People running Twitter right now do not want the public presentation of what those โ€˜formerโ€˜ FBI officials are doing, and who they are.

โ™ฆ Twitter Head of Information and Safety, Yoel Roth, essentially the fulcrum of what content would be permitted on the platform or not, is now getting additional scrutiny not for his moderation decisions but for his personal sexual outlooks and the previous refusal of Twitter to remove explicitly sexual content around children.

After reviewing his dissertation at the University of Pennsylvania on gay sex, pornography and the social media app Grindr [SEE HERE] people are looking at the sexualized content of the Twitter platform differently. Did Yoel Roth allow child porn and other content as an outcome of his own deviancy? Many objective researchers are coming to the conclusion the answer was yes. Even Elon Musk seems to think the lack of urgency toward removing sexual content that targets minors was related to Yoel Roth.

Obviously, there is something profoundly troubling about the head of Twitter content and his sexual outlooks toward minors.

There is a particular creepy and weird fascination that triggers multiple โ€œgroomerโ€ alarms, and simultaneously explains why any content that exposed the sexual indoctrination of children [LibsOfTikTok] was viewed differently. Accounts that exposed sexualization and grooming of children in a sexploitative way, were removed. Accounts that promoted the sexualization and grooming of children were allowed to remain on the platform. The ideology of Yoel Roth seems to have played a significant role.

โ™ฆ Lastly, it appears Mr. Elon Musk is also going to release the internal Twitter content surrounding COVID-19 and the well-publicized censorship efforts on the platform. It will be very interesting to see if there is any release of information from HHS and CDC contact to Twitter officials.

We know those contacts must have been expansive, including the targeting and removal requests from the Biden administration toward content. However, so far, the people releasing the material from Twitter have withheld the names, details, methods of communication and any information that would identify the government officials on the other side of the portal. While current conservative headlines are filled with discussion surrounding revelations of Twitter being used by U.S. government officials to control and manipulate public opinion, it is worthwhile reminding everyone how this process was first triggered โ€“ and then look at how the intelligence community applied the lessons to the USA in 2020.

 

The Obama administration first created the public-private partnership with Twitter and Facebook to support the โ€œArab Springโ€ uprising. As a consequence, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was the first elected official to be taken out by former President Obamaโ€™s deployment of Twitter as a community activist tool for revolution in 2011. In direct and consequential ways, Egypt was the BETA test for a process that surface a decade later in the United States during the 2020 election.

 

Using and influencing social media was a tool created by the Obama state department, as noted years ago in Mic.Com:

 

[โ€ฆ] In countries like Egypt, Tunisia, and Yemen, rising action plans such as protests made up of thousands, have been organized through social media such Facebook and Twitter. โ€œWe use Facebook to schedule the protestsโ€ an Arab Spring activist from Egypt announced โ€œand [we use] Twitter to coordinate, and YouTube to tell the world.โ€ The role that technology has taken in allowing the distribution of public information such as the kinds stated by the aforementioned activist, had been essential in establishing the democratic movement that has helped guide abused civilians to overthrow their oppressor. (NationalPulse) The most popular Twitter hashtags in the Arab region in the first three months of this year were โ€œEgyptโ€, โ€œJan25โ€, โ€œLibyaโ€, โ€œBahrainโ€ and โ€œprotestโ€.

 

Nearly 9 in 10 Egyptians and Tunisians surveyed in March said they were using Facebook to organise protests or spread awareness about them. All but one of the protests called for on Facebook ended up coming to life on the streets.

 

These and other findings from the newly released second edition of the Arab Social Media Report by the Dubai School of Government give empirical heft to the conventional wisdom that Facebook and Twitter abetted if not enabled the historic region-wide uprisings of early 2011. (link)

 

Fast forward to 2020, and those same elements deployed against the Egyptian government were deployed in the United States in a coordinated public-private partnership with Twitter, Facebook and social media.

 

The U.S. government control over these social media platforms is ultimately what lies at the heart of the latest Twitter Filesrelease.

 

Within the Twitter file release, you will find Twitterโ€™s lead censor, Yoel Roth, meeting with an official from the U.S. Dept of National Intelligence (DNI). From the testimony of FBI Special Agent Elvis Chan, we know that official was Shelby Pierson. Chan was speaking under oath in an ongoing first amendment lawsuit against the Biden administration for manipulating and censoring speech on social media.

 

To see the connective tissue between the events in 2011 (Egypt) and the events a decade later in 2020 (USA), it is worth noting a discussion that took place in early 2020 between Shelby Pierson and former CIA Director Mike Morell.

 

Mike Morell was made CIA Director after General Petraeus was removed in 2012 by then DNI James Clapper at the behest of President Obama. With his new position, Mike Morell was the Obama official who gave testimony to congress about CIA operations in/around the Libyan Benghazi compound attack on 9/11/11. Morell was put into this position to protect Hillary Clinton and President Obama for the crisis they created in Libya, the covert arms sales to Libya, and ultimately the Benghazi attack that stemmed from State Dept and CIA efforts to retrieve those illegal weapons.

 

During the 2016 Presidential election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, Mike Morell was a key voice helping to frame the narrative that Russia was planning to interfere in the election. Morell, no longer in government and working for Clinton, was another 2016 vector seeding the Trump-Russia narrative to the media while Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele worked outside sending various files to FBI allies to assist the fraudulent frameworkโ€ฆ.

Mike Morell is a key Clinton/Obama loyalist and tool of the national security state. Morell is now a CBS intelligence analyst and contributor.

 

Back to Shelby Piersonโ€ฆ. In early January 2020 Ms. Pierson and Mr Morell were discussing the upcoming presidential election from the perspective of how the U.S. Intelligence Community would be engaged. Emphasis mine:

Keep in mind, Shelby Pierson is the key official from the ODNI office, talking to FBI liaison Elvis Chan about frameworks for social media censorship and the specific needs of the U.S. government in October 2020. At the same time, it is Shelby Pierson who is coordinating withe Twitter Executive Yoel Roth.

 

I urge readers to read the full CBS transcript above get a sense Ms. Pierson from the context of her conversation with fellow traveler Mike Morell in January 2020.

Well, what do you knowโ€ฆ. All of a sudden today, anonymous intelligence officials are reporting to CNN that Ms. Pierson โ€œoversteppedโ€ her position, was โ€œmisleadingโ€ in her briefing, and โ€œmischaracterizedโ€ the underlying intelligence. Imagine that.

 

Washington (CNN)-The US intelligence communityโ€™s top election security official appears to have overstated the intelligence communityโ€™s formal assessment of Russian interference in the 2020 election, omitting important nuance during a briefing with lawmakers earlier this month, three national security officials told CNN.

 

The official, Shelby Pierson, told lawmakers on the House Intelligence Committee that Russia is interfering in the 2020 election with the goal of helping President Donald Trump get reelectedโ€ฆ.

[โ€ฆ] One intelligence official said that Piersonโ€™s characterization of the intelligence was โ€œmisleadingโ€ and a national security official said Pierson failed to provide the โ€œnuanceโ€ needed to accurately convey the US intelligence conclusions.

Why would Shelby Pierson and Joseph Maguire intentionally blindside the White House?

 

The briefing was obviously spun by HPSCI Chairman Adam Schiff and democrats on the House intel committee; and there was no intelligence presented during the briefing to support the claims made by Pierson, Democrats and media. (2020 LINK)

 

What you see now surfacing is evidence of the framework of 2020 election manipulation from the DNI office. That government manipulation later manifests in the public-private partnership between the U.S. government and Twitter, as highlighted in the releases of the Twitter files.

 

One note of caution. I will draw attention to a very similar framework now rolling out with the Twitter File releases that we saw in the John Durham investigation. Notice how both Bari Weiss and Matt Taibbi are drawing attention to the Twitter executives, but NOT drawing any attention to the government officials. This does not appear to be coincidental.

 

Bari Weiss could have easily identified the head of the Twitter head of the โ€œStrategic Response Teamโ€ an intelligence official named Jeff Carlton. She didnโ€™t. Similarly, Matt Taibbi could have identified the official from the DNI office in contact with Twitter executive Yoel Roth, ODNI official Shelby Pierson. He didnโ€™t.

 

Just as John Durham structured his public investigative releases to cast the unlawful shadow on only those people outside government, so too is Weiss and Taibbi structuring their public reviews of the Twitter files to draw attention only to the Twitter executives outside government.

 

The officials from the U.S. government, who are transmitting through the DHS portal to Twitter, are not being named and identified, why not?

 

From Taibbi and Weiss and Taibbi again, we are getting an outline of actions taken by Twitter officials,but we are still blind to how the information, requests and demands come into Twitter from the U.S. government, and who specifically is sending them.

Xiaotong (Tom) Zhu joined Tesla in 2014. Before that Zhu was Vice President for Kaibo Engineering Group, a China-based project management firm that focuses on overseas projects (One Belt โ€“ One Road) invested by the Chinese government.

 

One would think a project manager tied to the key initiatives of Chairman Xi, would have deep CCP ties. There is also speculation that Mr. Musk may be assigning Mr. Zhu to be the lead of Tesla internationally.

 

(Via Bloomberg) Elon Musk has tapped a longtime Tesla Inc. executive in China who oversaw construction of the Shanghai gigfactory to help run the electric carmakerโ€™s newest plant in Austin, Texas, people familiar with the matter said.

 

Tom Zhu, who joined Tesla in 2014 to help build its Supercharger network and most recently has been heading the carmakerโ€™s Asia Pacific operations, is in Austin this week and has brought some of his engineering team from China with him to assist in overseeing the ramp up of Giga Texas โ€” a US hub for the Model Y and future production of the Cybertruck โ€” the people said, asking not to be identified because theyโ€™re not authorized to speak publicly.

 

Itโ€™s not clear how long Zhu will be in Austin for, or whether he will retain his Asia responsibilities, the people said.

 

Representatives at Tesla in the US and China didnโ€™t respond to requests for comment. Zhu wasnโ€™t immediately able to be contacted. Musk also didnโ€™t respond to messages seeking comment.

 

The shift of Zhu to Austin comes as Tesla has been trying to increase output at its new Texas factory. The US electric vehicle pioneer originally planned to make Model Y SUVs using its new, larger 4680 lithium-ion cells at the plant, which Musk referred to as a โ€œmoney furnaceโ€ earlier this year. But instead, Tesla has pivoted to using older 2170 cells considering the new batteries werenโ€™t ready for volume production. (read more)

A collection of radical right figures including white nationalists and ultranationalist European leaders gathered in Manhattan for the New York Young Republicans Clubโ€™s (NYYRC) annual gala Saturday night, where that groupโ€™s president declared โ€œtotal warโ€on perceived enemies.

 

โ€œWe want to cross the Rubicon. We want total war. We must be prepared to do battle in every arena. In the media. In the courtroom. At the ballot box. And in the streets,โ€ NYYRC president Gavin Wax declared to a room full of supporters at 583 Park Ave., an event venue on New Yorkโ€™s Upper East side.

 

โ€œThis is the only language the left understands. The language of pure and unadulterated power,โ€ Wax added.

Republicans publicly lauded members of an Austrian political party founded by World War II-era German Nazi party members. Racist political operative Jack Posobiec shared jokes across a table with Josh Hammer, the opinion editor of Newsweek. Multiple recently elected GOP congresspeople applauded Marjorie Taylor Greene, who told the NYYRC crowd in the eventโ€™s closing remarks that the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol would have succeeded if she had planned it and that the insurrectionists would have been armed.

Nigella sativa had been documented to possess many therapeutic functions in medicine but the least expected is sero-reversion in HIV infection which is very rare despite extensive therapy with highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART). This case presentation is to highlight the complete recovery and sero-reversion of adult HIV patient after treatment with Nigella sativa concoction for the period of six months. The patient presented to the herbal therapist with history of chronic fever, diarrhoea, weight loss and multiple papular pruritic lesions of 3 months duration. Examination revealed moderate weight loss, and the laboratory tests of ELISA (Genscreen) and western blot (new blot 1 & 2) confirmed sero-positivity to HIV infection with pre-treatment viral (HIV-RNA) load and CD4 count of 27,000 copies/ml and CD4 count of 250 cells/ mm(3) respectively. The patient was commenced on Nigella sativa concoction 10 mls twice daily for 6 months.. He was contacted daily to monitor side-effects and drug efficacy. Fever, diarrhoea and multiple pruritic lesions disappeared on 5th, 7th and 20th day respectively on Nigella sativa therapy. The CD4 count decreased to 160 cells/ mm3 despite significant reduction in viral load (โ‰ค1000 copies/ml) on 30th day on N. sativa. Repeated EIA and Western blot tests on 187th day on Nigella sativa therapy was sero-negative. The post therapy CD4 count was 650 cells/ mm(3) with undetectable viral (HIV-RNA) load. Several repeats of the HIV tests remained sero-negative, aviraemia and normal CD4 count since 24 months without herbal therapy. This case report reflects the fact that there are possible therapeutic agents in Nigella sativa that may effectively control HIV infection.

The Republican and Democrat lawmakers released the grim, and growing, tally during a press conference on Dec. 7 at the House Triangle.

 

Between 2007 and Nov. 2022, a total of 149 CBP agents located at the U.S. southern border took their lives.

Republican speakers repeatedly voiced an anti-democracy, authoritarian ideology, and extremists in the audience cheered wildly. White nationalists such as the Brimelows of VDARE and leaders from extreme far right European parties like Alternative for Germany (Alternative fรผr Deutschland, AfD), whom German officials placed under surveillance for their ties to extremism, and Austrian Freedom Party (Freiheitliche Partei ร–sterreichs, FPร–), ate and drank in the same room as newly elected Republican congresspeople, such as Long Island and Queens-based George Santos, Georgia-based Mike Collins and Florida-based Cory Mills.

 

Hatewatch reached out to Santos and Mills by email before the event about their willingness to appear in a global collection of radical right, anti-democracy activists. They did not reply. Hatewatch reached out to Collins on Sunday morning but had not received a response at press time.

A Steve Bannon selfie for VDARE

 

Bannon, the former Trump adviser, physically embraced the white nationalist Brimelows at NYYRC, spoke to the couple for several minutes and took a selfie with them. VDARE traffics in the great replacement conspiracy theory and has published defenses of writing a terrorist who gunned down 24 people in an El Paso Wal-Mart in 2019 allegedly authored. Peter Brimelow attended the white supremacist American Renaissance conference in November, whose host has portrayed Black people as being subhuman. The Brimelows publish writing authored by Jason Kessler, who helped organize the deadly 2017 โ€œUnite the Rightโ€ rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

 

When Hatewatch attempted to speak to Lydia Brimelow after her conversation with Bannon to inquire about it, she walked away. Hatewatch did not get close enough to Bannon to ask him about the encounter with Peter and Lydia Brimelow.

 

โ€˜Pizzagateโ€™ Jack descends on New York City

Posobiec, a radical right political operative, resides with his wife Tanya Posobiec in Hanover, Maryland. The couple took Amtrak Northeast Regional train 88 into New Yorkโ€™s Penn Station Moynihan Hall on Saturday afternoon to get to the NYYRC gala. Train 88 pulled in at around 3:45 PM ET, and a Hatewatch reporter observed Posobiec and his wife deboard and enter New York City.

 

โ€œAntifa, donโ€™t even think about it tonight,โ€ Posobiec posted to Twitter three hours later, at 6:39 PM ET, with the location of the tweet marked Manhattan, NY.

 

NYYRC gave Posobiec a speaking slot and an Allen W. Dulles award, named after the former head of the CIA. NYYRC said in its December bulletin that the award is given to โ€œan individual who embodies the virulent anti-Marxist spirit of [Dulles].โ€

 

Like the Brimelows, Posobiec has a well-documented history of radical right activism. He has boasted of his ties to the antigovernment Oath Keepers, fraternized with the Proud Boys, and at least twice, filmed propaganda videos with a pair of neo-Nazi brothers. He is primarily known for pushing the #Pizzagate disinformation campaign, which falsely suggested that Democrats ran a pedophile dungeon in the basement of a Washington, D.C., pizzeria.

 

Hatewatch spoke with Posobiec around midnight at the NYYRC event and asked him about his involvement in pushing the #StoptheSteal hashtag onto Twitter during the runup to the 2020 election. Although โ€œStop the Stealโ€ became synonymous with the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol building, Posobiec started tweeting the hashtag from his over-1-million-follower account as early as Sept. 7, 2020, two full months before anyone tallied any votes.

 

While responding to Hatewatch at NYYRC, Posobiec first attempted to associate the hashtag with Roger Stone and then with Ali Alexander, two of his collaborators. Then he called it โ€œa meme.โ€ He never explained why he abruptly started posting the hashtag in September 2020.

 

While answering questions, Posobiec grew testy with a Hatewatch reporter and described SPLC as a โ€œdomestic terror organization.โ€ Posobiec called that reporter a โ€œscumbagโ€ and a โ€œtroll.โ€ After Posobiecโ€™s speaking tone became palpably agitated, a crowd formed and NYYRC executive secretary Viswanag โ€œVishโ€ Burra escorted both Hatewatch reporters to the exit, physically shoving one of them.

Starting in May 2020, after editor Nancy Cooper and chief content officer Dayan Candappa brought political activist Josh Hammer to run Newsweekโ€™s opinion section, the 90-year-old publication has emerged as a hub for opinion pieces authored by radical right activists. Newsweek has published the extremist Posobiec as well as 2020 election-lie pusher Raheem Kassam in recent years, and Hammer has also hosted both of them on his Newsweek-branded podcast. The three men sat together talking and laughing at table #6 during the NYYRC event, near the stage.

When QAnon influencer-turned-congressperson Marjorie Taylor Greene took the stage, Hammer stood up and applauded. When she endorsed former President Trump as her 2024 presidential candidate of choice, Posobiec turned to Hammer and grinned. In January, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis invited Hammer on a tour of his office, and the Florida-based Newsweek editor has since hyped DeSantis as a potential presidential candidate.

 

โ€œYou gonna go up there, Josh?โ€ Posobiec chided Hammer about Greeneโ€™s endorsement of Trump, eliciting laughter from the table.

 

A Hatewatch reporter approached Hammer after Greeneโ€™s speech, made an introduction and asked if he knew Peter Brimelow of VDARE.

 

โ€œHeโ€™s right here, right now?โ€ Hammer asked with excitement.

 

โ€œI didnโ€™t even know he was here!โ€ Hammer said of the infamous white nationalist publisher. โ€œIโ€™m going to say Hi.โ€

 

The Hatewatch reporter asked Hammer how he got his job at Newsweek, and the opinion editor abruptly stopped talking. He asked the reporter to identify himself again. When the reporter did, Hammerโ€™s expression slackened. He quickly claimed he did not know Peter Brimelow and left.

โ€˜Whatโ€™s racist about Project Veritas?โ€™

 

Multiple figures associated with Project Veritas, the hard-right propaganda group that engages in sting operations, attended the NYYRC gala. The groupโ€™s founder James Oโ€™Keefe and Project Veritas board member Matthew Tyrmand hobnobbed with NYYRC guests Saturday.

 

Legal trouble has entangled Project Veritas in recent months. Former associates sued Project Veritas in August, citing the creation of a โ€œhighly sexualizedโ€ work environment, which they claim included substance abuse and unpaid labor. (The group has denied these allegations.) In September, a jury in a civil case found that Project Veritas had โ€œviolated wiretapping laws and fraudulently misrepresented itselfโ€ during a sting operation targeting a group called Democracy Partners. The FBI raided Oโ€™Keefeโ€™s home in November 2021 as part of an investigation into the alleged theft of a diary belonging to President Joe Bidenโ€™s daughter Ashley. (The group has claimed that they acted lawfully in obtaining the diary.)

 

Outside of the building on 583 Park Ave., Oโ€™Keefe argued with antifascist protesters, according to footage reviewed by Hatewatch. A different, self-described โ€œindependent video journalistโ€ posted a series of clips to Twitter at 8:15 p.m., showing Oโ€™Keefe asking antifascist protesters on the corner of Park Avenue and 62nd Street, โ€œWhatโ€™s racist about Project Veritas?โ€

 

The same social media user posted a video to Twitter at 9:12 p.m. In it, Oโ€™Keefe could be seen standing on the street outside the venue alongside several other men, including Newsweekโ€™s Hammer.

 

โ€œWould you like to make a tax-deductible donation to Project Veritas?โ€ Oโ€™Keefe asked the protesters.

Hatewatch observed Project Veritasโ€™s Tyrmand sitting at table #4, the one closest to the center of the stage, alongside Trump-world power players Steve Bannon and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani. A recent New York Times report named Tyrmand and Bannon as key U.S. figures in an effort to depict Brazilโ€™s November presidential elections as being fraudulent, after voters in that country pushed hard-right favorite Jair Bolsonaro out of office. Tyrmand, who is known for his ties to the global radical right, took the stage and lauded the ultranationalist European leaders in attendance.

 

โ€œThis is an all-star room, and I urge all of you to meet everybody here and continue to spend time together, getting to know each other, so we can fight the battle, arm in arm,โ€ Tyrmand said of the European extremists, including the contingents from Austria and Germany.

Speakers including Trump Jr. and Greene sought to downplay the Republicansโ€™ failure to secure a so-called โ€œred waveโ€ victory in the 2022 midterms by attacking such familiar right-wing targets as Joe Bidenโ€™s son Hunter Biden and LGBTQ people.

 

โ€œThe party is in a pretty good spot, but America may not be getting it. We have a party right now that is actually delivering for the American people. But what we donโ€™t have [is] our same people in Washington, who can make those things happen,โ€ Donald Trump Jr. told the crowd after he came on stage.

 

Greene suggested eliminating Democrat members of House committees in her closing speech, as a way of shifting the tide of power in Washington. She also told the audience Americans it was โ€œalmost midnight,โ€ meaning they risked losing their country to perceived enemies.

 

Greene praised a Project Veritas video focused on LGBTQ education published by the group, saying it shows that teachers โ€œpass around dildos, buttplugs and lube.โ€ (The school issued a statement claiming โ€œ[Project] Veritas deceptively edited the video with malicious intent.โ€)

 

Greene expressed her gratitude to Project Veritas for their work.

 

โ€œThank you very much. We appreciate that,โ€ she said to scattered applause.
