A retired Navy SEAL who became famous nearly 10 years ago after coming out as transgender announced he is detransitioning and called on Americans to "wake up" about how transgender health services are hurting children.

 

"Everything you see on CNN with my face, do not even believe a word of it," Chris Beck, formerly known as Kristin Beck, told conservative influencer Robby Starbuck in an interview published earlier this month. "Everything that happened to me for the last ten years destroyed my life. I destroyed my life. I'm not a victim. I did this to myself, but I had help."

 

"I take full responsibility," he continued. "I went on CNN and everything else, and that’s why I’m here right now, I’m trying to correct that."

 

Beck gained notoriety in 2013 when he spoke with CNN’s Anderson Cooper about transitioning to a woman.

 

"I was used … I was very naive, I was in a really bad way, and I got taken advantage of. I got propagandized. I got used badly by a lot of people who had knowledge way beyond me. They knew what they were doing. I didn’t," he said during the interview.

 

Beck served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, including on SEAL Team Six. He was deployed 13 times and received more than 50 medals and ribbons for his service.

NBC News issued a correction to the article that cited a U.S. government official.

 

NBC News issued a correction after initially reporting that the White House had the choice of freeing either ex-Marine Paul Whelan or WNBA star Brittney Griner in a controversial prisoner swap for convicted arms dealer Viktor Bout.

 

NBC initially reported after Griner was released Thursday that a U.S. government "official said Russia has treated Whelan differently because he is an accused spy, and that the Kremlin gave the White House the choice of either Griner or Whelan β€” or none."

 

The outlet later edited the article to state: "The official said that Russia has treated Whelan differently because he is accused of spying and that the Kremlin ultimately gave the White House the choice of Griner or no one after different options were proposed."

NBC added a correction stating that "an earlier version of this article misstated the choice the Biden administration was given over hostages. It was to swap for Griner or no one, not a choice between Griner or Whelan."

President Joe Biden said last week that "for totally illegitimate reasons, Russia is treating Paul's case different than Britney's" and the administration is still working to secure Paul's release. Biden did not address reports at the time that Griner was traded for former Soviet Army Lt. Col. Viktor Bout, who the Obama Justice Department called "one of the world's most prolific arms dealers."

 

Conservatives blasted Biden for freeing Griner while Whelan remains in Russian prison, where he has been since 2018 for espionage.

FBI seeks links between power grid attacks in North, South Carolina

 

The FBI is currently seeking potential links between recent attacks on North Carolina power stations and a separate incident in South Carolina that occurred days later.

 

Two Duke Energy power substations in Moore County, N.C., sustained damage from gunfire last weekend, leaving tens of thousands without power for several days. A separate gun-related incident on Wednesday saw an individual with a rifle open fire roughly one half of a mile away from a third Duke Energy power station in South Carolina. There were neither injuries nor power outages as a result of the South Carolina episode.

 

Kershaw County Sheriff Lee Boan said on Thursday that there was no evidence the gunman had aimed for the power station. "I currently have no reason to believe this shooting incident has anything to do with an attack on the hydro station," NBC News reported him as saying. "As of right now, I'm just not seeing the connection between the two."

 

Nevertheless, the bureau is analyzing shell casings found from both sites, attempting to discern any potential links. No suspects have yet been identified in the North Carolina shootings, though law enforcement agencies have issued "active warrants" for suspects, Moreover, Moore County and Duke Energy have pooled together to offer cash rewards for information on the attack's perpetrators

A Libyan man accused of making the bomb which destroyed Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie 34 years ago is in United States custody, Scottish authorities have said.

The US announced charges against Abu Agila Masud two years ago, alleging that he played a key role in the bombing on 21 December, 1988.

The blast on board the Boeing 747 left 270 people dead.

It is the deadliest terrorist incident to have taken place on British soil.

All 259 passengers and crew on board the jumbo jet bound to New York from London died while another 11 people were killed in Lockerbie when wreckage destroyed their homes.

Last month it was reported that Masud had been kidnapped by a militia group in Libya, leading to speculation that he was going to be handed over to the American authorities to stand trial.

A US Justice Department spokesperson told the Reuters news agency that Masud would make an initial appearance in a federal court in Washington.

Five years ago he was serving a prison sentence in Libya for bomb-making.

I know maybe off topic but it's something I've been thinking alot about.

Abortion I am against as a woman's point of view. If they would've required 2 visits. 1 requirements to receive one the woman should go through watching what happens just like they require you to go through before you leave the hospital after you have a baby. Set amount of time. Then woman can go home and decide if she wants to go through it. If that was offered, my past would've been different. US government scientists have made a breakthrough in the pursuit of limitless, zero-carbon power by achieving a net energy gain in a fusion reaction for the first time, according to three people with knowledge of preliminary results from a recent experiment.

 

Physicists have since the 1950s sought to harness the fusion reaction that powers the sun, but no group had been able to produce more energy from the reaction than it consumes β€” a milestone known as net energy gain or target gain, which would help prove the process could provide a reliable, abundant alternative to fossil fuels and conventional nuclear energy.

 

The federal Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, which uses a process called inertial confinement fusion that involves bombarding a tiny pellet of hydrogen plasma with the world’s biggest laser, had achieved net energy gain in a fusion experiment in the past two weeks, the people said.

 

Although many scientists believe fusion power stations are still decades away, the technology’s potential is hard to ignore. Fusion reactions emit no carbon, produce no long-lived radioactive waste and a small cup of the hydrogen fuel could theoretically power a house for hundreds of years.

 

The US breakthrough comes as the world wrestles with high energy prices and the need to rapidly move away from burning fossil fuels to stop average global temperatures reaching dangerous levels. Through the Inflation Reduction Act, the Biden administration is ploughing almost $370bn into new subsidies for low-carbon energy in an effort to slash emissions and win a global race for next-generation clean tech.

 

The fusion reaction at the US government facility produced about 2.5 megajoules of energy, which was about 120 per cent of the 2.1 megajoules of energy in the lasers, the people with knowledge of the results said, adding that the data was still being analysed.

The US department of energy has said energy secretary Jennifer Granholm and under-secretary for nuclear security Jill Hruby will announce β€œa major scientific breakthrough” at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on Tuesday. The department declined to comment further.

 

The laboratory confirmed that a successful experiment had recently taken place at its National Ignition Facility but said analysis of the results was ongoing.

 

β€œInitial diagnostic data suggests another successful experiment at the National Ignition Facility. However, the exact yield is still being determined and we can’t confirm that it is over the threshold at this time,” it said. β€œThat analysis is in process, so publishing the information . . . before that process is complete would be inaccurate.”

 

Two of the people with knowledge of the results said the energy output had been greater than expected, which had damaged some diagnostic equipment, complicating the analysis. The breakthrough was already being widely discussed by scientists, the people added.

 

β€œIf this is confirmed, we are witnessing a moment of history,” said Dr Arthur Turrell, a plasma physicist whose book The Star Builders charts the effort to achieve fusion power. β€œScientists have struggled to show that fusion can release more energy than is put in since the 1950s, and the researchers at Lawrence Livermore seem to have finally and absolutely smashed this decades-old goal.”

 

The $3.5bn National Ignition Facility was primarily designed to test nuclear weapons by simulating explosions but has since been used to advance fusion energy research. It came the closest in the world to net energy gain last year when it produced 1.37 megajoules from a fusion reaction, which was about 70 per cent of the energy in the lasers on that occasion.

 

At the launch of a new White House fusion power strategy this year, Congressman Don Beyer, chair of the bipartisan fusion energy caucus, described the technology as the β€œholy grail” of clean energy, adding: β€œFusion has the potential to lift more citizens of the world out of poverty than anything since the invention of fire.”

 

Most fusion research is focused on a different approach known as magnetic confinement fusion, in which the hydrogen fuel is held in place by powerful magnets and heated to extreme temperatures so the atomic nuclei fuse.

 

Historically, that science has been done by large publicly funded laboratories, such as the Joint European Torus in Oxford, but in recent years investment has also flooded into private companies promising to deliver fusion power in the 2030s.

 

In the 12 months to the end of June, fusion companies raised $2.83bn in investment, according to the Fusion Industry Association, bringing total private sector investment to date to almost $4.9bn.

 

Nicholas Hawker, chief executive of Oxford-based start-up First Light Fusion, which is developing an approach similar to that used at NIF, described the potential breakthrough as β€œgame-changing”.

 

β€œIt couldn’t be more profound for fusion power,” he said.

In the 1870s, Imperial Russia abolished the state monopoly on oil and opened the oil-rich Caucasus to private enterprise. Several companies developed competing refineries, the most prominent of which was run by Ludwig and Robert Nobel, brothers of the chemist, Alfred.

 

While the Nobel brothers came to dominate the Russian oil industry, they were unable to enter the global marketplace due to a lack of transportation infrastructure. To solve this problem, the Caspian and Black Sea Petroleum Company (BNITO), financed by the French branch of the ''Rothschild family'', built a railroad connecting the Caspian and Black seas, allowing for export. The Rothschilds then established extensive storage facilities and bought BNITO in 1886.

 

The entry of the Rothschilds into the oil industry transformed its nature. ''The Rothschilds changed the focus of Russian oil from domestic production to the global market.'' This spurred companies like Standard Oil to reinvent itself as a multinational corporation and Shell to develop into the most important oil transportation company in the world.

 

In this project, Jennifer Siegel will write one chapter in the story of the Russian oil industry: ''the involvement of the Rothschild family from its first collaboration with BNITO in 1884 to the transfer of their holdings to the Royal Dutch Shell Company in 1912.''

 

This project goes beyond state-centered decision making to include non-governmental sources in international finance and the oil industry. A grant from the Mershon Center allowed Siegel to do research at archives for le Banque Rothschild Frères at le Centre des Archives du Monde du Travail in France, as well as the Rothschild Archive in London.

Conservative commentator and former California GOP gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder hinted at a possible presidential 2024 run, with one of his main issues being the importance of restoring the nuclear family.

 

"I'm thinking about throwing my 'Black Face of White Supremacy' in the contest in 2024," Elder said on an episode of the John Solomon Reports podcast to be aired Friday. "I'm giving it real thought. I've been to Iowa about four or five times in the last month. I've been to New Hampshire. If I decide to do it, I'll make an announcement sometime in February or March."

 

Elder was referring to when he ran for California governor, and the Los Angeles Times wrote a column referring to him as the "Black Face of White Supremacy."

 

Elder said that if he were to run, the No. 1 issue he would father absence in families and the importance of restoring the nuclear family.

 

"I have a couple of issues that I think I can bring to the table in a way more authentic than some of my other rivals can and that is the No. 1 problem facing this country is a large number of children in the world without a father married to the mother in the home," he said.

 

Former President Barack Obama noted that father absence was a big issue when he ran for president in 2008 in which he discussed the importance of fathers in children's lives.

 

"Obama once said a kid raised without a father is five times more likely to be poor, nine times more likely to drop out of school and 20 times more likely to end up in jail," Elder said. "Now the question is, why have we gone from 25% of black kids entering the world without a father in the home married to the mother to 70%?"

 

"We've incentivized women to marry the government," he also said, suggesting many single-parent women must rely on government money to help them make ends meet. "We've incentivized men to abandon their financial and moral responsibility. And I've seen it firsthand in the inner city where I grew up."

 

Elder said that notions that America is systemically racist is a myth and the real issue is the nuclear family declining in the black community and he can bring awareness to that.

 

"It is nonsense that America is systemically racist," he concluded. "I think I can talk about that in a way more persuasive and more passionately than maybe some of my other rivals can."

Io's colors derive from sulfur and molten silicate rock. The unusual surface of Io is kept very young by its system of active volcanoes. The intense tidal gravity of Jupiter stretches Io and damps wobbles caused by Jupiter's other Galilean moons. The resulting friction greatly heats Io's interior, causing molten rock to explode through the surface. Io's volcanoes are so active that they are effectively turning the whole moon inside out. Some of Io's volcanic lava is so hot it glows in the dark.

Hubble Captures Dual Views of an Unusual Star Cluster

 

While these two images may look dazzlingly different, they are actually pictures of the same cosmic object: NGC 1850. Although the same Hubble instrument took both images, different filters with different assigned colors were used to study particular wavelengths of light emanating from these objects. The image with blue nebulosity includes some near-infrared light along with visible light (what our human eyes can detect), whereas the image with red nebulosity (also a different β€œpointing” at the same object) covers a much broader range from the near-ultraviolet to the beginnings of the infrared spectrum. Ultraviolet observations are ideal for detecting the light from the hottest and youngest stars, as seen in this luminous, starry view.

 

This 100 million-year-old globular cluster is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way and a birthplace for billions of stars. The cluster is approximately 160,000 light-years away in the constellation Dorado. Typical of globular clusters, it is a spherical collection of densely packed stars held together by mutual gravitational attraction. Unlike most globular clusters, however, the stars of NGC 1850 are relatively young. Globular clusters with young stars such as NGC 1850 are not present in our own Milky Way galaxy.

 

Astrophysicists theorize that when the first generation of stars in NGC 1850 was born, the stars ejected matter like dust and gas into the surrounding cosmos. The density of the newly formed star cluster was so high that this ejected matter could not escape the cluster’s gravitational pull, causing it to stay nearby. The intense gravity of the cluster also pulled in hydrogen and helium gas from its surroundings. These two sources of gas combined to form a second generation of stars, increasing the density and size of this globular cluster.

 

In 2021, scientists detected the presence of a black hole in NGC 1850. They have also detected many brighter blue stars (seen on the right of the second image) that burn hotter and die younger than red stars. Also present are around 200 red giants, stars that have run out of hydrogen in their centers and are fusing hydrogen further from their core, causing the outer layers to expand, cool, and glow red (seen throughout the second image). Surrounding the cluster is a pattern of nebulosity, diffuse dust and gas theorized to come from supernova blasts (the blue veil-like structures on the first image and the red ones on the second image).

 

NGC 1850 is approximately 63,000 times the mass of the Sun, and its core is roughly 20 light-years in diameter. Astronomers used Hubble Space Telescope observations at a wide range of wavelengths to image this large star cluster and learn more about star formation.

Hubble Detects Ghostly Glow Surrounding Our Solar System

 

Aside from a tapestry of glittering stars, and the glow of the waxing and waning Moon, the nighttime sky looks inky black to the casual observer. But how dark is dark?

 

To find out, astronomers decided to sort through 200,000 images from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and made tens of thousands of measurements on these images to look for any residual background glow in the sky, in an ambitious project called SKYSURF. This would be any leftover light after subtracting the glow from planets, stars, galaxies, and from dust in the plane of our solar system (called zodiacal light).

 

When researchers completed this inventory, they found an exceedingly tiny excess of light, equivalent to the steady glow of 10 fireflies spread across the entire sky. That's like turning out all the lights in a shuttered room and still finding an eerie glow coming from the walls, ceiling, and floor.

 

The researchers say that one possible explanation for this residual glow is that our inner solar system contains a tenuous sphere of dust from comets that are falling into the solar system from all directions, and that the glow is sunlight reflecting off this dust. If real, this dust shell could be a new addition to the known architecture of the solar system.

 

This idea is bolstered by the fact that in 2021 another team of astronomers used data from NASA's New Horizons spacecraft to also measure the sky background. New Horizons flew by Pluto in 2015, and a small Kuiper belt object in 2018, and is now heading into interstellar space. The New Horizons measurements were done at a distance of 4 billion to 5 billion miles from the Sun. This is well outside the realm of the planets and asteroids where there is no contamination from interplanetary dust.

 

New Horizons detected something a bit fainter that is apparently from a more distant source than Hubble detected. The source of the background light seen by New Horizons also remains unexplained. There are numerous theories ranging from the decay of dark matter to a huge unseen population of remote galaxies.

 

"If our analysis is correct there's another dust component between us and the distance where New Horizons made measurements. That means this is some kind of extra light coming from inside our solar system," said Tim Carleton, of Arizona State University (ASU).

 

"Because our measurement of residual light is higher than New Horizons we think it is a local phenomenon that is not from far outside the solar system. It may be a new element to the contents of the solar system that has been hypothesized but not quantitatively measured until now," said Carleton.

 

Hubble veteran astronomer Rogier Windhorst, also of ASU, first got the idea to assemble Hubble data to go looking for any "ghost light." "More than 95% of the photons in the images from Hubble's archive come from distances less than 3 billion miles from Earth. Since Hubble's very early days, most Hubble users have discarded these sky-photons, as they are interested in the faint discrete objects in Hubble's images such as stars and galaxies," said Windhorst. "But these sky-photons contain important information which can be extracted thanks to Hubble's unique ability to measure faint brightness levels to high precision over its three decades of lifetime."

 

A number of graduate and undergraduate students contributed to project SKYSURF, including Rosalia O'Brien, Delondrae Carter and Darby Kramer at ASU, Scott Tompkins at the University of Western Australia, Sarah Caddy at Macquarie University in Australia, and many others.

 

The team's research papers are published in The Astronomical Journal and The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Hubble Captures a Glittering Neighbor

 

This image from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope captures a small portion of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). The SMC is a dwarf galaxy and one of the Milky Way’s nearest neighbors, lying only about 200,000 light-years from Earth. It makes a pair with the Large Magellanic Cloud, and both objects are best seen from the Southern Hemisphere, but are visible from some northern latitudes as well.

 

The Small Magellanic Cloud contains hundreds of millions of stars, but this image focuses on just a small fraction of them. These stars comprise the open cluster NGC 376, which has a total mass only about 3,400 times that of the Sun. Open clusters, as the name suggests, are loosely bound and sparsely populated. This distinguishes open clusters from globular clusters, which generally appear as a continuous blur of starlight at their centers because they are so crammed with stars. In the case of NGC 376, individual stars are clearly discernable even in the most densely populated parts of this image.

 

The data in this image come from two different astronomical investigations which relied on two of Hubble’s instruments: the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) and the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS). The first investigation used the ACS to explore a handful of star clusters in the Small Magellanic Cloud and helped astronomers explore topics including the abundance of low- and high-mass stars in different environments. The second investigation used both the WFC3 and ACS, and aimed to answer fundamental questions about the lives of stars and help astronomers understand precisely where, when, why, and how stars form.

Kari Lake filed a historic lawsuit on Friday to nullify the Stolen 2022 Midterm Election for Governor.

 

The Gateway Pundit reported that Kari Lake filed her lawsuit against Katie Hobbs and the corrupt Maricopa County elections officials to nullify the election for Governor and approve a full audit of signatures and machine failures.

 

It was revealed by a Runbeck whistleblower in Lake’s filing that HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of ballots did not have any chain of custody documentation.

 

This is similar to a 2020 election finding that hundreds of thousands of 2020 election ballots also lacked the necessary chain of custody documentation.

 

The filing also states that 25,000 ballots were added to Maricopa County’s totals after election day.

 

This could explain why Democratic candidates won over 50% of election day votes despite only recording 17% of the turnout on election day.

 

This finding is similar to a Maricopa County 2020 election report from Verity Vote that used public records requests to discover that more than 20,000 2020 election ballots were illegally counted.

 

The Gateway Pundit reported on these illegally counted ballots during the 2020 election investigations.

 

They used the same illegal tactics as in 2020 to steal this election.

 

Lake’s filing states, β€œMaricopa County’s public statements concerning remaining ballots to be counted on November 9, 2022, and November 10, 2022, show an increase of approximately 25,000 votes with no explanation of why the number of remaining ballots could increase.”

 

Maricopa County announced publicly on November 9 that β€œ275,000 ballots” had been sorted for scanning and signature verification. However, on November 10, this number saw an unexplained increase of close to 25,000 after the legal deadline for accepting ballots had closed. This change was also reflected on the Department of State website.

 

The Gateway Pundit questioned the same discrepancy on November 11.

 

Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer said in a press conference on November 10, β€œwe received 292,000 early ballots that were dropped off on election day.”

 

However, as The Gateway Pundit reported on November 9, Maricopa County tweeted that β€œ~275k” ballots were received on election day, not 292,000.

But thousands of years this has been in the works to bring sovereignty back to this planet and to the people of this planet. To bring freedom back to the people.

 

The old experiments of the illusion of the third dimension is over. And you must come to understand that more and more. Yes, I know, it does not appear that it is over. It appears like it is, indeed the same old, same old. But trust us, as you hear from many different sources on this subject, it is not. There are so many different things that are occurring and are going to continue to happen, so many changes yet to come forward. For this is the old paradigm falling away. The old third-dimensional paradigm is fading rapidly now. Not as rapidly as some of you would like, certainly. But you must understand again, thousands of years in planning. It’s not going to go away overnight. It is going to take time; but more importantly, take vibration.

 

As vibrational frequency increases, then the old paradigm falls away more, and more, and more. And the frequency vibration is increasing. And therefore you are finding the chaos now of the third dimension crumbling, and that is purposeful. And you must come to understand that it is on purpose, all part of the plan.

 

And yes, we hear you saying, β€œOh, that plan, they’re really talking about the plan.” Yes, we do, because it is a universal plan. It is something, again, that has been in the works for a long, long time. And you must realize that although you are all part of this plan, you cannot control the plan. You cannot completely bring it forward. You have parts of it, yes. But you are not in control of this plan. Just do your part, whatever that part might be.

 

You spoke earlier in your discussion of soul contracts. And yes, you all have a soul contract, all of you. And you are working in that soul contract. So just allow it. Allow for the process. Allow for it to continue to move forward. And know that as things continue to move on, as the plan continues to rework itself over, and over, and over to bring about the final result of the end of the third-dimensional illusion, know that you are doing everything that you can within yourself to bring about, again, the final result to this plan.

 

Continue to trust. Not just in the plan, though. Trust in yourselves. Trust in yourselves to continue to bring your part of this forward. Continue to bring yourself to a point where you know who you are more and more, and reconnect to your Higher-God-Self. For that is for what this is all about. When you speak about the Great Awakening, that is what it is: remembering who you are fully within the ascension process. That is the Great Awakening.

 

Will all awaken? Certainly not. But they will awaken to their own personal truth as they need to. It is not up to you to change their plan. It is not up to you to change their soul contract, although you cannot do it even if you wanted to. It is up to you to continue to move forward in your own personal life following your own soul contract and along the way assist others which, by the way, is also part of your soul contract.

Elon Musk Calls out Sussmann, Perkins Coie for β€˜Attempt to Corrupt a Presidential Election’

 

Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk called out Democrat-aligned law firm Perkins Coie LLP for its alleged β€œattempt to corrupt a presidential election” through its role in the β€œRussia collusion” hoax during the 2016 race.

 

Twitter isn’t using Perkins Coie. No company should use them until they make amends for Sussman’s attempt to corrupt a Presidential election.

In 2017, theΒ Washington Post exposed that election attorney Marc E. Elias, who was then at Perkins Coie, hired the opposition research firm Fusion GPS, using money from the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC), to find dirt on then-candidate Donald Trump.

 

The so-called β€œdossier” that resulted, manufactured by former British spy Christopher Steele, was the basis for the β€œcollusion” hoax, and was also used by the FBI to justify its investigation into the Trump campaign. The FBI continued to cite the β€œdossier” when it sought surveillance warrants from the secret FISA court even after it knew that the β€œdossier” was fraudulent.

 

Sussmann, who was then also at Perkins Coie, gave the FBI data that purported to show a link between Trump and Russia via Alfa Bank. The link was false.

 

Sussmann was acquitted of lying to the FBI about his motivations. Observers, such as Byron York of theΒ Washington Examiner, said they believed that Sussmann had, in fact, lied, but that the jury was in Democrat-friendly Washington, DC, and included several Clinton donors on the panel.

 

The Clinton campaign and the DNC were fined by the Federal Elections Commission for hiding their payments to Fusion GPS.

 

Musk’s tweet came amid new revelations of left-wing bias and β€œshadowbanning” at Twitter.

Journalist Michael Shellenberger reported Twitter faced 'internal and external pressure,' before banning Trump on Jan. 8

 

Former President Donald Trump was banned from Twitter the day after former first lady Michelle Obama and others demanded the company "permanently" remove him, according to the newest "Twitter Files" installment.

 

On Saturday, CEO Elon Musk and journalist Michael Shellenberger released the fourth batch of Twitter documents that show internal communications by the company’s executives between Jan. 6-8, 2021, including and shortly after the riot at the Capitol Building.

 

Among the files, Shellenberger reported "internal and external pressure," including from the former first lady, fell onto the company calling for Trump to be banned from using Twitter.

 

"Now is the time for Silicon Valley companies to stop enabling this monstrous behaviorβ€”and go even further than they have already by permanently banning this man from their platforms and putting in place policies to prevent their technologies from being used by the nation’s leaders to fuel insurrection," Obama wrote in a lengthy statement posted to Twitter on Jan. 7.

 

She added: "And if we have any hope of improving this nation, now is the time for swift and serious consequences for the failure of leadership that led to yesterday’s shame."

 

In addition to the former first lady, the Anti-Defamation League, among several other prominent people and organizations called for Trump's ban.

 

On the morning of Jan. 7, then-Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wrote an email to employees instructing them, as Shellenberger wrote: "to remain consistent in its policies, including the right of users to return to Twitter after a temporary suspension."

 

Trump was serving a suspension on the platform at the time.Β 

 

The files also showed Twitter maintained a policy β€” called "Public-interest exceptions" β€” where elected officials were not banned as there was a great public interest in their comments, even if they seemed to violate other policies.

 

While Trump's temporary suspension was lifted, this second policy was specifically and intentionally ignored in Trump’s case, Shellenberger reported. Dorsey was also on vacation at the time of Trump’s ban.

"Dorsey was on vacation in French Polynesia the week of January 4-8, 2021," Shellenberger reported. The chief executive delegated much of the responsibility to senior executives, including former Twitter Head of Trust and Safety Yoel Roth and former Head of Legal, Policy, & Trust Vijaya Gadde, who Shellenberger points out were "overwhelmingly progressive."

 

"In 2018, 2020, and 2022, 96%, 98%, & 99% of Twitter staff's political donations went to Democrats," Shellenberger reported.

 

Shellenberger also reported: "In 2017, Roth tweeted that there were β€˜ACTUAL NAZIS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.’"

 

"Twitter employees recognize the difference between their own politics & Twitter's Terms of Service (TOS), but they also engage in complex interpretations of content in order to stamp out prohibited tweets," Shellenberger also pointed out.

 

A day after Dorsey’s email, Trump was permanently suspended for how his posts were being "received and interpreted."Β 

 

After Musk purchased Twitter and took over as its chief executive, Trump’s access to the platform was restored. Trump has yet to resume control of his account, however, and has previously told Fox News Digital that he intends to remain on his social media platform, Truth Social.

In research on Big Tech's relationship to the Federal Government, it appears Facebook is mainly handled by the State Department, Google by Mil Intel and Twitter by the FBI/DOJ. Former United States National Security Advisor John Bolton said Wednesday that he is considering running for president in 2024 if he doesn't see any good options.

 

"If others don't, aren't going to do it, I'm prepared to do it," Bolton said on the John Solomon Reports podcast.

Bolton said that this isn't the first time he has considered running for president and actually considered a run back in 2016.

 

"Back in 2016, I took a pretty serious look at getting into the race in that cycle," he said. "I went to Iowa and New Hampshire, and I did the candidate forms and I actually took my wife and daughter to New Hampshire to see how they liked campaigning, because that's a pretty serious decision for the family. Ultimately, I decided not to do it."

 

With regard to the direction that the Republican Party is going, Bolton said that it needs to move away from former President Donald Trump.

 

"There are a lot of reasons to be concerned about Trump's role in the party," Bolton stated. "I just for these purposes, stress the practical political role. We need to govern, we need to get control of the House and the Senate, and obviously in 2024 in the White House, and the rule that we ought to follow should be to make sure we can get people elected in November."

 

If Bolton were to become president, one of the first things he said he would do is focus on censorship and the First Amendment.

 

"I would repeal section 230 of the Communications Act, which gives these big social media platforms effective immunity for their actions," Bolton said. "I think if they want to put stuff on their website, they have to be held responsible for it. And they can't have it both ways." (Delusional, wtf do they think Trump pushed for 4 years)

President Xi Jinping has reportedly said his country will work to pay for fuel in yuan

 

Beijing will work to make energy purchases in yuan instead of the US dollar signalling another step towards shifting further away from the greenback, China’s President Xi Jinping has told Gulf Arab leaders as cited by Reuters.

 

China's leader highlighted the necessity of the move while speaking at a Chinese-Arab summit that was hosted by Saudi Arabia earlier this week. Xi had held separate talks with the heads of the Persian Gulf states at the summit that reportedly brought together 30 leaders from across the region.

 

The world's biggest crude importer, China in November ramped up purchases of oil by 12% year-on-year, marking the 10-month high despite the severe pandemic-related restrictions. Chinese state refiners stepped up purchases of US crude oil, while maintaining high imports of Russian oil prior to the December 5 European embargo and imposition of an oil price cap.

 

China’s independent refiners also moved a record amount of deeply discounted Iranian crude passed off as oil sourced from Malaysia, which is commonly used as a transfer point for oil originating from the sanction-hit Venezuela and Iran.

Saudi Arabia was China’s number one oil supplier in the first ten months of 2022, making up 18% of China’s total crude oil purchases, with imports totaling 73.54 million tons, or 1.77 million barrels per day, Chinese customs data showed.

Disinformation Down 92% As NYT Writers Go On Strike

 

NEW YORK, NY β€” Researchers are reporting that disinformation on Twitter, Facebook, and mainstream news sources is already down by 92% in the wake of a 24-hour writer's strike at the New York Times.
