Donald Trump says ‘it’s great to be home’ as he arrives in Scotland amid slew of lawsuits

 

The former US president has said he will be opening a ‘spectacular’ second golf course in Aberdeen

Donald Trump declared “it’s great to be home” as he landed in Scotland on Monday to visit his golf resorts ahead of a trip to Ireland.

The former president, who is running again for the White House in 2024, was in Aberdeen to cut a ribbon to mark breaking ground on a new, second course at his Menie Estate.

He arrived with son Eric and was greeted at Aberdeen Airport by pipers, a red carpet and 10-vehicle motorcade.

“It’s great to be home, this was the home of my mother,” Trump said.

His mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was born on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides before emigrating to the US. The new course at Menie will be named after her.

At his Aberdeenshire resort, Mr Trump said he was going to build “a great golf course”.

“We’ve had a lot of pleasure in working on this land and there is no other land like it,” he said. “We have incredible views by the sea and there are no other dunes like these in the world. It will be a great success.

“This project is very close to my heart and I am delighted to say that this is our first day of work on the new course.

“It will be dedicated to my late mother and that is a source of great pride to me and my family. My mother was an incredible woman who loved Scotland.

“She returned here every year and she loved the Queen. I got to know the Queen too during my visits here I love Scotland just as much.”

Following his time in Scotland, Mr Trump will head to his course in Doonbeg on Ireland’s west coast.

The billionaire, seen by many as the presumptive Republican nominee for 2024, said his campaign is “on his mind”, stressing that a victory for him would make America “greater than ever before”.

Axios on Monday night warned that US allies are preparing for the possibility of war over Taiwan.

 

A war between the U.S. and China over Taiwan would be a nightmare scenario for America’s allies in the Pacific, but it’s becoming increasingly clear what roles they might play if one breaks out.

 

The big picture: French President Emmanuel Macron declared last month that Europe should not get “caught up in crises that are not ours,” such as the escalation over Taiwan sparked by U.S.-China rivalry. U.S. allies in the region don’t have that luxury.

Driving the news: Philippines President Bongbong Marcos visited the White House today, shortly after the largest-ever version of annual U.S.-Philippines military drills. For the first time, the war games focused in part on securing the 7o-mile wide channel between the Philippines’ northern islands and Taiwan.

 

  1. As U.S. and Filipino forces rehearsed for potential conflict with China, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang visited Manila and urged the Philippines — a U.S. treaty ally that moved closer to Beijing under Marcos’ predecessor, Rodrigo Duterte — against “picking sides.”

 

Earlier this year, Marcos granted the U.S. access to four new bases, three of which are in the north and face Taiwan.

Beijing’s ambassador to Manila, Huang Xilian, declared in April that Washington clearly planned to use the bases to “interfere in the situation across the Taiwan Strait.” Huang accused the Philippines of “stoking the fire” rather than prioritizing the security of its 150,000 overseas workers in Taiwan — comments some interpreted as a veiled threat.

 

  1. Ahead of his visit to Washington, Marcos said the bases were for collective defense not “offensive operations,” and his country will not become a military “staging post.”

7 bodies found during search for missing Oklahoma teens

Middlesbrough, Massachusetts – A 12-year-old student went off on school board board members after his school sent him home because he refused to change his T-shirt that said, “There are only two genders.”

 

Twitter account LibsofTikTok first picked up his comments during the Middleborough School Committee meeting, which was held on April 13.

 

Fox News reported Sunday that Liam Morrison, a seventh-grader at Nichols Middle School in Middleborough, Massachusetts, revealed he was taken out of gym class on March 21. School staff who told him the reason he was removed from class was because the statement on his shirt made them feel unsafe.

 

Morrison went to tell the board that he would have to remove his shirt to come back to class. When he refused they called his father.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia launched its second large salvo of missiles at Ukraine in recent days early Monday, damaging buildings, killing two people and wounding 40 in the eastern city of Pavlohrad but failing to hit Kyiv, officials said.

 

Air raid sirens began blaring across the capital about 3:45 a.m., followed by explosions as Ukrainian defense systems intercepted missiles.

 

Eighteen cruise missiles were fired from the Murmansk and Caspian regions, and 15 of them were intercepted, said Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

 

The head of Kyiv’s city administration, Serhii Popko, said all missiles fired at the city were shot down, as well as some drones. He didn’t provide further details.

 

The attack follows Friday’s launch of more than 20 cruise missiles and two explosive drones at Ukraine, the first to target Kyiv in nearly two months.

 

In that attack, Russian missiles hit an apartment building in Uman, a city about 215 kilometers (135 miles) south of Kyiv, killing 21 people, including three children.

 

In Monday’s attack, missiles hit Pavlohrad, in the eastern Dnipropetrovsk region, killing two people and wounding 40, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

 

Seven missiles were shot at the city and “some were intercepted” but others struck an industrial facility, sparking a fire, authorities said. Damage was reported to 24 apartment buildings, 89 homes, six schools and five shops, according to regional authorities.

Air raid sirens began blaring across the capital about 3:45 a.m., followed by explosions as Ukrainian defense systems intercepted missiles.

 

Eighteen cruise missiles were fired from the Murmansk and Caspian regions, and 15 of them were intercepted, said Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

 

The head of Kyiv’s city administration, Serhii Popko, said all missiles fired at the city were shot down, as well as some drones. He didn’t provide further details.

 

The attack follows Friday’s launch of more than 20 cruise missiles and two explosive drones at Ukraine, the first to target Kyiv in nearly two months.

Just a message to the ether, in case it may mean anything, anywhere:

 

Wife and I, 60-ish years old, live in a large city in the middle of the USA, and last several years have been an ongoing cycle of feel good / feel bad / feel good / feel bad for just days at a time between changes. Had to sleep it off a lot -long periods of not being able to make it through a day without napping. No discernible illness or ailment to target for treatment, aside from symptoms of fatigue, weakness, and "just don't feel good, need to lay my head down."

 

Cycle has stopped in the last few months. Both feel great and back to active. Seems like a source of poisoning has been abated, with no changes to our routines that could indicate a source. Makes me think of food processing plants and/or other supply.

 

Just putting this out there in case anyone is looking for a result. If this lands anywhere -thanks isn't enough. God bless.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, who has been bought by the World Economic Forum, believes the US government should seize private property to combat climate change.

 

This is not an exaggeration.

 

In his annual letter to shareholders dated 4 April 2023, Dimon stated “governments, businesses and non-governmental organisations” may need to invoke “eminent domain” to get “adequate investments fast enough for grid, solar, wind and pipeline initiatives.”

 

“Eminent domain” is a legal term that describes the government using its power to expropriate private property for public use, provided the Government provides private owners proper compensation.

They are doing everything possible to defeat our way of life. This reminds me of the Roman emperor Maximinus I (235-238 AD) who effectively declared all wealth in the country belonged to the state. He paid bribes to anyone who turned in their neighbour for hiding wealth. Of course, the US Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) already does exactly the same as Maximinus. They will share the spoils of someone’s wealth with whoever turns them in.

 

Once Maximinus wiped out small businesses in this manner, it led to a collapse in confidence in the economy. Commerce rapidly declined from there on out commerce and businesses did not restart. There was no Great Reset. In that instance, only one Pi Cycle marked the bottom of the Roman economy from 237 AD to 268 AD (31 years). The World Economic Forum began infiltrating our way of life in 2019 when they locked down the global economy for a virus. This is why 2027 is a major turning point for many of our models around the globe. The civil unrest we are experiencing in 2023 is only a prelude to what we can expect in 2024.

 

Our quality of life has been declining since the planned pandemic when governments stretched their reach as far as possible. They are openly discussing their plans to revoke our freedoms. It is all in plain sight.

Louisiana lawmakers seek increased penalties for fentanyl dealers

Fentanyl is now the leading killer for 18 to 45 year olds in the United States, with a tenth of a gram a lethal dose.

Two competing bills to increase penalties for fentanyl dealers and manufacturers are slated for debate on the House floor next week after clearing the criminal justice committee.

 

The House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice voted 12-1 to approve House Bill 90, sponsored by Rep. John Stefanski, R-Crowley, to impose a sentence of mandatory life in prison for anyone who possesses more than an ounce of fentanyl or carfentanil in aggregate.

 

"It’s become such a problem across this state and across this country that we need to send a very strong and clear message that if you’re distributing these types of drugs you intend to kill people, and you’re going to face the requisite penalty for that," Stefanski said. "This is really targeted at the guys who are bringing it into our state or at a manufacturing facility that’s cutting it."

 

Stefanski and other highlighted the fact that fentanyl is now the leading killer for 18 to 45 year olds in the United States, with a tenth of a gram a lethal dose.

 

The committee also voted unanimously to approve with one abstention HB 75, sponsored by Rep. Debbie Villio, R-Kenner, that takes a tiered approach to increasing the current punishment of a minimum of five to 40 years in prison, and fine of up to $50,000.

Federal judge rules Pennsylvania school district must allow After School Satan Club

 

A school district in Pennsylvania must allow students to convene an After School Satan Club, a federal judge ruled on Monday.

 

“In a victory for free speech and religious freedom, a federal court has ruled that the Saucon Valley School District must allow the After School Satan Club to meet in district facilities,” the ACLU announced.

 

In a Monday filing, issued in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and shared by the ACLU, a judge found that “here, although The Satanic Temple, Inc.’s objectors may challenge the sanctity of this controversially named organization, the sanctity of the First Amendment’s protections must prevail.”

 

The school district must allow the After School Satan Club, which is sponsored by The Satanic Temple, to meet during the school year on three previously agreed-upon dates, but it won’t have to distribute permission slips for the club for students to take home, according to the filing.

 

The national ACLU, the ACLU of Pennsylvania and Dechert LLP filed suit against the school district on behalf of The Satanic Temple in March, arguing the district violated the First Amendment by prohibiting the club from meeting in the district’s facilities.

 

The district argued that it prohibited the club because permission slips didn’t make it clear that the club wasn’t district-sponsored.

 

“When confronted with a challenge to free speech, the government’s first instinct must be to forward expression rather than quash it. Particularly when the content is controversial or inconvenient. Nothing less is consistent with the expressed purpose of American government to secure the core, innate rights of its people,” Judge John M. Gallagher wrote in the Monday ruling.

USS Cole Bombing

 

On October 12, 2000, two suicide pilots of a small bomb-laden boat pulled alongside of the USS Cole at midship, offered friendly gestures to several crew members, and detonated their explosives.

 

The U.S. destroyer, en route to the Persian Gulf, was making a prearranged fuel stop at the port of Aden, Yemen, when the attack occurred.

 

The blast ripped a 40-foot-wide hole near the waterline of the Cole, killing 17 U.S. sailors and injuring nearly 40 other crew members.

 

The FBI quickly sent to Yemen more than 100 agents from the Counterterrorism Division, the FBI Laboratory, and various field offices. Director Louis Freeh arrived soon after to assess the situation and to meet with the President of Yemen.

 

Numerous FBI field offices and legal attaches, several hundred FBI agents and support staff, and Joint Terrorism Task Force personnel ultimately took part in the investigation.

 

The FBI also established a cooperative working relationship with the government of Yemen. On November 29, 2000, a guidance document was signed between the U.S. State Department and the Yemeni government setting protocols for questioning witnesses and suspects. FBI and Yemeni investigators proceeded with interviews, and a large amount of physical evidence was shipped back to the FBI Laboratory for examination.

 

FBI photographers took pictures of the crime scene that assisted in identifying the victims and provided detailed photographic information regarding the impact of the explosion. Later, personnel from the FBI Lab, as well as bomb technicians and agents from New York and Jackson Field Offices, traveled to Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi, where the Cole had been brought, to examine the ship for additional evidence.

 

The extensive FBI investigation ultimately determined that members of the al Qaeda terrorist network planned and carried out the bombing. The investigation also revealed that the USS Cole bombing followed an unsuccessful attempt on January 3, 2000, to bomb another U.S. Navy ship, the USS The Sullivans. In this earlier incident, the terrorist boat sank before the explosives could be detonated; however, the boat and the explosives were salvaged. The boat was then refitted, and the explosives were tested and reused in the USS Cole attack.

 

By the end of 2000, Yemeni authorities had arrested several suspects, including Jamal Muhammad Ahmad Al-Badawi and Fahad Muhammad Ahmad Al-Quso, two of the alleged masterminds of the USS The Sullivans and the USS Cole plots. Al-Badawi and Al-Quso—known al Qaeda operatives who trained in al Qaeda camps in Afghanistan during the 1990s—were later killed in separate U.S. airstrikes.

 

Another key figure in the plot—Tawfiq Mohummad bin Saleh bin Roshayed bin Attash—is currently in U.S. custody.

Engineer in Spain from the startup Overture Life maneuvered a tiny, mechanized in-vitro fertilization (IVF) needle using a PS5 controller to release single sperm cells into the female eggs over a dozen times. The experiment was proven to be a "success" and led to the birth of two baby girls earlier this Spring.

 

MIT Technology Review identified a half-dozen startups with similar aims, with names like AutoIVF (https://www.autoivf.com/), IVF 2.0 (https://www.ivf20.ai/), Conceivable Life Sciences (https://www.conceivable.life/), and Fertilis. (https://www.fertil.is/)

 

Overture has already raised about $37 million, with big donors such as former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki.

 

This the way of the future, with selective breeding and fertilization; to create, to manipulate, and clone a new “master race” of “humans.”
