The GOP-led House Judiciary Committee on Thursday issued subpoenas aimed at an advertising initiative partnered with the World Economic Forum that claims to fight against “harmful” content online.

In cover letters obtained by The Daily Wire, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote that the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) and the group that created it — World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) — may be facilitating coordination by its members in a manner that violates U.S. antitrust law.

“To advance our oversight and inform potential legislation related to these collusive practices, the Committee must understand whether, how, and to what extent GARM and WFA facilitate collusion to prevent certain content from benefiting from advertising dollars and to reduce that content’s presence online,” Jordan wrote to King & Spalding, the law firm representing the collectives.

GARM is a “cross-industry initiative” established in 2019 to “address the challenge of harmful content on digital media platforms and its monetization via advertising,” according to WFA.

The stated ambition of GARM is “to get the digital media ecosystem working together on the shared priorities that will lead to the removal of harmful content from advertiser-supported social media.” The WFA website shows GARM has dozens of members, including Budweiser-owner Anheuser-Busch InBev, Goldman Sachs, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald’s, Meta, Twitter, and YouTube.

WEF, which critics view as a hub for elites who favor global policies that threaten liberties, boasts on its website how GARM is a partner that is “creating a safe ecosystem.” Yet there has been pushback against companies that censor and demonetize content, particularly by conservatives who believe they are being punished for political reasons.

ST. LOUIS – Embattled St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, the city's first Black prosecutor and a Democrat, announced Thursday that she will resign, following allegations of negligence and calls for her ouster by Republican leaders.

 

Republican Attorney General Andrew Bailey took legal steps to remove Gardner from office in February. Bailey said too many cases, including homicides, have gone unpunished under Gardner’s watch, that victims and their families are left uninformed, and that the prosecutor’s office is too slow to take on cases brought by police.

 

Rizzo said Gardner had planned to announce her resignation Wednesday but delayed after an assistant prosecutor in her office died in a fiery crash around 5 p.m.

 

“There is absolutely no reason for the Circuit Attorney to remain in office until June 1st,” Bailey said in a statement. “We remain undeterred with our legal quest to forcibly remove her from office. Every day she remains puts the city of St. Louis in more danger. How many victims will there be between now and June 1st? How many defendants will have their constitutional rights violated? How many cases will continue to go unprosecuted?”

 

Other Republican leaders applauded her resignation.

 

“She has presided over miscarriages of justice for years, hurting countless victims who put their trust in her and letting dangerous criminals escape the accountability they deserve,” U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner tweeted. “St. Louis will be better off without her.”

Burger King to Close 400 Stores Nationwide

 

Burger King is closing 400 stores nationwide by the end of 2023.

 

It is unclear which locations will be closing down.

The popular fast food chain Burger King plans to close up to 400 restaurants before the end of 2023, TODAY.com confirmed.

 

This week, the CEO of Restaurant Brands International Inc., which owns Burger King, said they are preparing to close between 300 and 400 locations.

 

The CEO, Joshua Kobza, said in a call announcing Q1 earnings results, that the company “historically” closes “a couple hundred” Burger King restaurants each year.

 

So far this year, several large Burger King franchisees have filed for bankruptcy: Illinois-based Toms King, Michigan-based EYM King, and Utah-based Meridian Restaurants Unlimited.

 

According to a Restaurant Brands International release announcing the earnings, 124 Burger Kings have already shuttered this year, bringing the total number in the United States to fewer than 7,000.

 

Kobza said in the call that the company plans to focus on working with smaller franchisees to “improve the overall health” of the company’s franchise system.

US experts warn of ‘Russian air superiority’ over Ukraine

As Kiev’s air defenses falter, some worry Moscow might unleash its full military might

 

The Russian air force could wreak havoc on Ukraine’s armor and infantry if Kiev launches its much-anticipated counteroffensive without air cover, a prominent US military expert has told Newsweek. Another acknowledged supply problems with Kiev’s air defenses, while a third dismissed technical concerns to argue Ukrainian morale would prevail.

 

The Russians “have an almost overwhelming level of air superiority they have not introduced into the war yet,” Dale Buckner, a retired US Army officer who now heads the international security firm Global Guardian, told Newsweek.

 

The MiG-35, Su-35 and Su-57 jets can “decimate” the counteroffensive if they can catch armor and infantry columns in the open, said Buckner. “So there’s a real tactical risk on the ground for the Ukrainians if they don’t have proper air defense and if they don't have multiple layers of air defense,” he added.

UK coronation party map shows NO events registered in Scotland

The Government has released a map tracking all the coronation events taking place throughout the UK - which showed NONE registered in Scotland.

 

The map, created by the department for culture, media and sport (DCMS), allows the organisers of lunches, picnics, street parties and other events to mark King Charles being crowned.

 

According to the Government’s map, 61 public events and 47 street parties or private events have been shared “so far”.

 

Only one is taking place in Northern Ireland in the city of Derry (Londonderry) – a Catholic majority area of the province.

 

Two are taking place in Wales, with the rest all going ahead in England.

 

This does not mean there will be no coronation celebrations in Scotland at the beginning of May – the map only shows events which have been planned and registered with the DCMS.

 

Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer said the map would allow people “up and down the country” to find out what events were taking place near them.

 

She said: “We want everyone up and down the country to have the opportunity to get involved in the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort.

 

“Our interactive map will help you find activities, events and celebrations nearby. Whether you’re hosting a street party, planning a Big Lunch, a screening or activity for the Big Help Out, we want to hear from you.

 

“This is a fantastic occasion to come together with friends, family and your local community to mark this historic moment.”

Here’s an interesting thought for my fellow anons:

There’s a big push for lithium ion batteries, so much so that they’re building production plants while letting other manufacturing fail and fall apart. Lithium ion batteries don’t handle cold (need to be heated), don’t handle extreme heat, don’t handle flooding (boom), and have a charging control circuit that is susceptible to interference/EMP.

With all these shortcomings, why are they putting them in everything from flashlights to house solar systems? All those people thinking they will have power during an emergency are just as screwed as everyone else if the switch is flipped on the charging control circuit.

Daily Caller News Foundation reporter Megan Brock secured a victory last week after she was sued by Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in 2022 to prevent the release of documents she requested related to the county’s school reopening plans and COVID-19 restrictions.

 

After the court conducted an in-camera review of the records, Judge Denise M. Bowman ruled on April 28 that more than half of Brock’s requests, which were made under the state’s Right-to-Know Law (RTK), had been withheld “in bad faith.” She ordered the county to release certain documents and pay $1,500 in sanctions for each of the two lawsuits brought against Brock, the maximum allowed under RTK.

 

“These court decisions are tremendous victories for the ‘right to know’ of parents and citizens,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “Indeed, the Court recognized the bad faith nature of the outrageous government lawsuits against our client Megan Brock for daring to ask questions about crazed covid school shutdowns.” …

Mystery of Hundreds of Pounds of Pasta Found in New Jersey Woods Solved by Neighbors

 

Neighbors in the Middlesex County town deduced that the piles of noodles came from a nearby house that had been put up for sale after the owner's death. The homeowner's son was cleaning out the property and found a large supply of expired groceries.

 

He discarded the the old dried pasta in the woods and due to heavy rain in the area last weekend the noodles became waterlogged and appeared to have been cooked.

RFK Jr. Says “CIA Involved In Assassinations and Fixing Elections”

 

Democrat presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sat down with Freddie Sayers the Editor-in-Chief of Unhurd and had a lot of interesting things to say about the CIA.

 

The topic of the CIA got brought up when Sayers asked Kennedy what kind of approach he plans to take with the CIA.

 

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. responded to Sayers’ question by saying “the CIA needs to be reorganized.”

 

He continued “Very early on Allen Dulles( former CIA Director) corrupted the purpose of the CIA by getting it involved in assassinations and fixing elections… the CIA has been involved in coup d’état’s in a third of the countries in the world.”

 

Kennedy rounded up his thought by saying “Our national policy as a country is to promote democracy the CIA’s policy has been the opposite.”

 

Kennedy was right to call out Allen Dulles who served as the director of the CIA during the Cold War.

 

Dulles had a long career at the CIA and oversaw several controversial CIA missions such as the 1953 Iranian coup, the 1954 Guatemalan coup, MKUltra mind control program and the Bay of Pigs invasion.

 

Allen Dulles was ultimately fired by RFK Jr.’s uncle President John F. Kennedy, for Dulles’ hand in the Bay of Pigs disaster.

 

In recent weeks Kennedy has been surging in the polls and does seem to have a fighting chance to replace Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not to be challenged, not really. Keep the message social and build the emotional connection. It is harder to break an emotional bond than a logical or cognitive bond.

EU members have agreed on a financing mechanism that would entail Ukraine receiving €1 billion worth of ammunition as part of the bloc’s assistance plan, the EU Council said in a statement on Friday. The package is expected to include mostly 155-mm-calibre artillery rounds and missiles “if requested.”

 

This comes in addition to another €1 billion worth of ammo the bloc’s members agreed to send to Kiev out of its own stocks in April.

 

“Together with the previous decision to swiftly provide ammunition from existing stocks, we are committing €2 billion to this purpose, bringing the total EU military support to Ukraine to €5.6 billion,” the EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell, said.

 

The ammunition will be purchased and delivered by EU members, the statement explains, adding that to be reimbursed, procurement contracts or purchase orders will need to be concluded before September 30, 2023. The ammunition must only be purchased from “economic operators established in the EU or Norway,” the EU Council said.

 

The measure comes as part of a multi-part scheme adopted by the Council on March 20, which aimed to provide Ukrainian forces with one million rounds of artillery ammunition within 12 months.

 

The scheme initially prompted some disagreements among EU member states, with France reportedly demanding compensation for supplies which Kiev never even requested, according to Poland’s PAP news agency.

 

The bloc eventually managed to agree on the “first track” of the plan worth €1 billion on April 13. A week later, the New York Times reported that Western nations were falling short in their efforts to provide Ukraine with the necessary amounts of weapons systems and munitions.

 

The Times noted that most of the promised German-made Leopard tanks were still being refurbished. The paper said it would take the EU and US industries “years to catch up with the demand” of Kiev, which are “essentially limitless.”

 

Ukraine has also repeatedly criticized its Western backers over the delays and supposed lack of sufficient supplies.

 

Moscow, meanwhile, has repeatedly warned that “pumping” Kiev with arms and ammunition will only prolong the conflict and risks a dangerous escalation, potentially even a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO.

The Information Center for the Environment (ICE), UC Davis, is currently developing a

decision support system to facilitate watershed analyses by state resource agencies in

California. ICE is using the latest in ESRI GIS to provide resource managers critical

environmental data, including a desktop application with embedded GIS to facilitate

watershed analysis. This tool incorporates readily available GIS data such as biotic

occurrences and distributions, hydrography and geomorphology. Other relevant data are

task specific, such as staff reports, water quality matrices, and site location photographs.

The approach used is adaptable to assessing a broad array of conservation priorities in

natural resource management.

Kiev’s ambassador has named Berlin’s move “very short-sighted and unfounded”

 

The Berlin police’s decision to ban Russian and Ukrainian flags at the city’s memorial sites during the upcoming Victory Day celebrations on May 8 and 9 have drawn the ire of the local Ukrainian associations and sparked criticism from both the current and former Ukrainian ambassadors to Germany.

 

“The dignified commemoration of the fallen soldiers of the … Soviet Army, who, together with other armed forces, contributed to liberating Germany and the world from the Nazi dictatorship, is the focus of these days,”the German police said in a statement on Friday, in which it announced a ban on the flags and some other symbols during the Victory Day celebrations at the city’s memorial sites.

 

“The act of remembrance and respect for these memorials and monuments must also be preserved against the background of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war,” the police said, adding that it should not be turned into “conflicts or arguments” over the ongoing conflict.

 

Apart from the national flag of the two countries,St. George Ribbons – a WWII remembrance symbol popular in Russia– as well as mock military uniforms and their parts, military and marching songs and any“exclamations… that are likely to condone or glorify” the ongoing conflict in Ukraine are banned as well, according to the police statement.

 

Ukrainian ambassador to Berlin,Aleksey Makeev, blasted the banning specifically the Ukrainian flag as “very short-sighted and unfounded.”He called on the police to revise the decision. An Alliance of the Ukrainian organizations in Germany slammed the move as well by saying that the Berlin police was “sending the wrong political signal” and went on to accuse the law enforcement of “legitimizing the Russian extermination war” by equaling its symbols to the “national symbols of Ukraine.”

 

Kiev’s former ambassador to Germany, Andrey Melnik, has been even more blunt as he criticized the police decision. “Have you gone insane?” said the controversial diplomat who was known for his outspokenness and insults against the German politicians and officials during his tenure as an envoy. He also called the decision “a blow below the belt for all Ukrainians” on Twitter.

 

Later on Friday, Makeev, said in a short tweet that he had a “good conversation” with the Berlin police and the issue had been “resolved.” He did not provide any details but said he would address the Ukrainian community on Saturday.

 

Berlin has as many as 15 memorial sites, including the iconic Soviet WWII memorial in the Treptower Park. The sites have long served as the popular gathering places during the Victory Day celebrations. Last year, the city authorities took a similar decision banning Russian and Ukrainian flags. At that time, the move also drew criticism from Ukrainians and even some German media while the then ambassador Melnik called it “scandalous.”

Scientists Found New Psychoactive Drugs In Wastewaters

 

The trend of increasing new psychoactive substances (NPS) and the difficulty for law enforcement to control their circulation prompted a study by the University of Queensland, Australia, which was part of an international wastewater surveillance program.

 

The study covered a three-year period—from 2019 to 2022—and 47 cities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, China and Brazil.

 

The lead scientist Dr Richard Bade told UQ News that they detected 18 NPS in the wastewater samples from around the world.

 

“In Australia, we found seven new psychoactive substances, including mephedrone, ethylone and eutylone, which all have a similar effect to MDMA or cocaine,” Bade said.

 

“We also found an increase in similar drugs in Europe, where there were high levels of 3-methylmethcathinone, particularly in Spain and Slovenia.

What Are NPS Drugs

 

New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) are synthetic or semi-synthetic substances that are designed to mimic the effects of traditional illicit drugs such as cocaine, cannabis, or amphetamines.

 

They are sometimes called “designer drugs” or “legal highs” because they are often created to circumvent existing drug laws and regulations.

 

NPS can be chemically similar to illegal drugs, or they may have entirely new chemical structures that have not been previously identified.

 

Some examples of NPS include synthetic cannabinoids, cathinones, and phenethylamines.

 

These substances are often marketed as legal alternatives to traditional drugs, and are sold online, in head shops, or on the street.

 

One of the main concerns with NPS is that their effects are often not well understood, and they can be much more potent than traditional drugs, which can lead to a range of health risks, including overdose, addiction, and long-term health consequences.

 

As NPS are often marketed as “legal highs”, many people assume that they are safe to use, but this is not the case.

 

It’s important to remember that just because a substance is legal or unregulated it does not mean that it is safe or without risk.

Women’s Clothing Brand Anthropologie Features Male Model, Disables Comments After Getting Slammed by Customers

Women’s clothing brand Anthropologie posted an ad Thursday featuring a male model clad in dresses to its Instagram account.

 

The company ended up disabling the comment section for the post after its customers slammed the brand, vowing to never purchase Anthropologie products again.

 

“To quote @theharperwatters, ‘Never anthro-pologize for being fabulous! Loving these #UnexpectedAndUnforgettable looks.’ (Obviously, we couldn’t agree more!) Twirl to the link in bio to shop bold, beautiful dresses for every solo,” the brand said in the post’s caption.

The ad featured male model Harper Watters twirling in dresses.

 

Anthropologie customers took to the comment section to inform the women’s clothing brand that they are not interested in seeing men dance in dresses.

 

The company then disabled comments for the post, so customers took to the comment sections of other posts to continue slamming the brand.

 

“Seriously?I don’t want to see a man’s bulge as he’s twirling in a dress,” one Instagram user wrote. “This is not the way to go Anthropologie. Looks like my recent purchases are going back to the store.”

 

“Later Antho.You should’ve learned from Budweiser,” another commented.

 

“Taking bets on how many times [Anthropologie] can silence women in one evening… First with the ad, andnext disabling comments,” another said. “You may not hear us, but we’ve certainly gotten your message loud and clear.”

 

“A man wearing a dress and modeling your brand is a mockery to women,” another Instagram user stated.

 

“So you hired the patriarchy to sell women’s clothing then turned the comments off when we all weren’t jumping up and down in pigtails like Dylan Mulvaney over it?” another wrote. “ITS DONE. STOP ERASING WOMEN. Fire the director and marketing team. Save yourselves.”

 

“I’m so sad this is how you’ve chosen to represent your brand and women,” another said. “I have loved your store for as long as I can remember, and I’ve now unfollowed you and will spend my money elsewhere.”

 

“I will never purchase your products again,” another commented. “Go woke, go broke.”

 

Anthropologie is not the only women’s clothing company to recently abandon its “women only” branding by featuring males modeling its attire.

 

Last month, luxury lingerie brand Honey Birdette, which once prided itself on having high-end products “by women, for women,” changed its slogan to “a luxury brand for all” and posted an ad featuring a male clad in a bra and panties.

WASHINGTON — The White House press office on Friday evening announced new rules to yank reporters’ press badges and said that all journalists who currently have one will have to reapply by July 31.

 

The rules usher in a new era by closing a legal loophole that shielded journalists from retribution in the past.

 

Federal courts said the White House couldn’t suspend reporters’ badges under former President Donald Trump because the lack of formal rules warning of the possibility deprived journalists of due process.

 

The new rules serve as a warning and include vague standards to justify enforcement.

 

The announcement just two days after World Press Freedom Day also outlines stricter policies for getting press badges, known as hard passes, and was met with unease in part due to the ill-defined rules for what conduct could result in getting reporters banished.

 

The move is widely believed to be spurred by interest in stripping African journalist Simon Ateba of his access to the briefing room after a series of disruptions, though people involved in discussions said that White House staff had talked about making changes even before Ateba became a minor celebrity.

I've had full recent access inside this camp.

About 30-40 busses like this leave Darien daily with aliens from about 140 countries.

Panama is already becoming destabilized for instance by about 11% Venezuelans now inside Panama. I did many interviews such as Mike Adams, Emerald, Alex Jones, Devin Nunes, Fox, Peter Santilli, Congressional staff, more, right here over recent days. The busses in this video are lined up in convoy on Highway 1. Drug resistant Tuberculosis and Malaria flow up Highway 1 to America every day. Tuberculosis is one of the deadliest diseases in all of human history. Malaria is also no chump. Dengue is increasingly serious here. CCP has weaponized Dengue and drones to dispense mosquitos.

Panamanians here are now overrun with Malaria at levels they never saw until the invasion through Darien.

Summer time and an election coming. They needed a new martyr to rile up a certain demographic. "Justice or we burn it down." That's paraphrasing what I heard from footage of the NY protest/march whatever it was. How is threatening violence for political purposes not terrorism?
