Warning to Swedish Tourists Abroad: You May be a Terror Target After Qur’an Burnings

 

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) – A senior Swedish official said Monday Swedes abroad and businesses linked to Sweden”should observe increased vigilance and caution,” following recent Quran burnings in the country and protests in the Muslim world.

 

Henrik Landerholm, Sweden´s National Security Adviser, said there are signs of “a heightened threat” to the country and to Swedish interests abroad, adding the security situation has worsened.

 

In a statement, Landerholm said that “representatives of terrorist groups have called for attacks against Sweden. States and other actors have helped amplify such messages.” He said Sweden has gone from being considered a “legitimate” target to being a “priority” target. The statement did not identify those involved.

 

Landerholm said there also were “indications” that groups are planning other acts against Swedish interests abroad, and cited the storming of Sweden´s Embassy in Baghdad last month and an attempted attack on the diplomatic mission in Beirut last week.

 

The Swedish government and relevant authorities “are monitoring developments, taking a variety of measures and working closely with international partners to protect Swedes and Swedish interests abroad and to counteract the hate messages being spread about Sweden,” he said,

 

This month, Sweden stepped up border controls and identity checks at crossing points.

 

A recent string of public Quran desecrations by a handful of anti-Islam activists in Sweden – and more recently in neighboring Denmark — has sparked angry demonstrations in Muslim countries.

 

Sweden does not have a law specifically prohibiting the burning or desecration of the Quran or other religious texts. Like many Western countries, it doesn´t have any blasphemy laws; Sweden´s were abandoned in the 1970s.

 

The right to hold public demonstration s is protected by the Swedish Constitution. Police generally give permission based on whether they believe a public gathering can be held without major disruptions or risks to public safety.

 

Swedish officials repeatedly have condemned the desecrations and have also debunked claims that the government in Sweden grants permission for people to burn Islam´s sacred text or other religious books,

 

Last month, the Scandinavian country´s domestic security service SAPO said the overall security situation has deteriorated and said the risk of terrorism in Sweden remains at an elevated level.

US war hawk blames Biden for Kiev’s ‘stalling’ counteroffensive

 

Ukraine’s lackluster battlefield performance is the natural result of Washington’s hesitancy, John Bolton has claimed

 

Failures in Ukraine’s much-touted counteroffensive against Russia stem from the West’s inability to provide Kiev with the necessary military equipment within a reasonable timeframe, former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has said.

 

In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal published on Sunday, Bolton lamented that Kiev’s long-anticipated push, which started in early June, “isn’t making the headway some proponents had forecast,” adding that the disappointing results must become a “wake-up” call for Washington.

 

The former White House official – widely regarded as a foreign-policy hawk and who has advocated regime changes in Iran, Syria, Libya, and Cuba – insisted in his article that Kiev’s “inability to achieve major advances is the natural result of a US strategy aimed only at staving off Russian conquest,” while he also urged US President Joe Biden to start “vigorously working toward Ukrainian victory.”

 

“Ukraine’s offensive failures and Russia’s defensive successes share a common cause: the slow, faltering, non-strategic supply of military assistance by the West,” Bolton claimed, adding that the US-led support for Kiev has been hampered further by speculation that Moscow might escalate the conflict.

 

Bolton, who served in the Trump administration up to 2019, sought to allay those concerns, insisting that “there’s no evidence” that Russia has conventional military capability to threaten NATO or a desire to launch a nuclear strike. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it adheres to the policy that nuclear war should never be fought, and that it might resort to its atomic arsenal only if the very existence of the state is threatened.

 

The former national security adviser also dismissed the need for talks between Kiev and Moscow, arguing that these would only benefit Russia. Instead, he suggested that the West and Washington should radically tighten their sanctions regime.

 

In addition, he called on Washington to slap restrictions directly on China, citing its “enormous support” for Moscow. While Beijing remains Russia’s key trade partner, it has repeatedly denied that it was providing Moscow with military support.

 

Ukrainian forces initiated a large-scale offensive against Russian lines over two months ago, after being reinforced by hundreds of Western-supplied tanks and armored vehicles. However, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev has so far failed to gain any significant ground and has lost more than 43,000 service members since the start of the push.

All of these efforts were funded by Democrat campaigns to GBI Strategies. The firm in Muskegon was not only filling in bogus registrations by the thousand but they were also sending packages of registrations to nearby communities.

On Friday, The Gateway Pundit contacted Lt. Anderson, who wrote this explosive and thorough Michigan State Police report on the Muskegon investigation into GBI Strategies.

 

Lt. Anderson was apprehensive to speak with us. We assume he has been contacted by media outlets hoping he will debunk his own report – which he has not.

 

Anderson told TGP, “The report speaks for itself.” Officer Anderson is not retracting a thing. He certainly appears to be a man of character and integrity.

 

We asked Lt. Anderson if GBI was operating in several states.

 

He confirmed this and told us that he found that information through the records he discovered.

 

GBI Strategies Director Gary Bell also brags about operating this organization in 20 states and consulting with at least seven other states. This bio of Gary Bell has since been taken down since our Wednesday report.

 

Lt. Anderson told us you would not expect to find the guns and silencers in a normal business that were discovered during a raid at one of the GBI Strategy’s offices.

 

He agreed with us that it was easier to hide information when you are paying people with prepaid cash cards.

 

On Friday, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced that the Muskegon clerk found 8,000 to 10,000 fraudulent registrations. This confirmed the earlier reports by The Gateway Pundit, and it confirmed Lt. Anderson’s report.

 

There were no arrests made despite this massive election fraud. This makes sense since the organizations were cheating for Democrats and funded by Democrats. Nessel has no desire to indict these criminals.

 

The investigation was turned over to Chris Wray’s FBI – Where it went to die.

 

Dana Nessel mysteriously announced that they were turning the investigation over to the FBI – again. That tells you everything.

“Enough is enough — we are suing Google for their blatant bias against Republicans,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel in a statement to The Associated Press. “For ten months in a row, Google has sent crucial end-of-month Republican GOTV and fundraising emails to spam with zero explanation. We are committed to putting an end to this clear pattern of bias.”

 

Google, in a statement, denied the charges. “As we have repeatedly said, we simply don’t filter emails based on political affiliation. Gmail’s spam filters reflect users’ actions,” said spokesperson José Castañeda, adding that the company provides training and guidelines to campaigns and works to “maximize email deliverability while minimizing unwanted spam.”

 

The lawsuit focuses on how Google’s Gmail, the world’s largest email service with about 1.5 billion users, screens solicitations and other material to help prevent users from being inundated by junk mail. To try to filter material that account holders may not want in their inboxes, Google and other major email providers create programs that flag communications likely to be perceived as unwelcome and move them to spam folders that typically are rarely, if ever, perused by recipients.

 

The suit says Google has “relegated millions of RNC emails en masse to potential donors’ and supporters’ spam folders during pivotal points in election fundraising and community building” — particularly at the end of each month, when political groups tend to send more messages. “It doesn’t matter whether the email is about donating, voting, or community outreach. And it doesn’t matter whether the emails are sent to people who requested them,” it reads.

 

Google contends its algorithms are designated to be neutral, but a study released in March by North Carolina State University found that Gmail was far more likely to block messages from conservative causes. The study, based on emails sent during the U.S. presidential campaign in 2020, estimated Gmail placed roughly 10% of email from “left-wing” candidates into spam folders, while marking 77% from “right-wing” candidates as spam.

 

Gmail rivals Yahoo and Microsoft’s Outlook were more likely to favor pitches from conservative causes than Gmail, the study found.

 

The RNC seized upon that study in April to call upon the Federal Election Commission to investigate Google’s “censorship” of its fundraising efforts, which it alleged amounted to an in-kind contribution to Democratic candidates and served as “a financially devastating example of Silicon Valley tech companies unfairly shaping the political playing field to benefit their preferred far-left candidates.”

 

Since then, the commission has approved a pilot program that creates a way for political committees to get around spam filters so their fundraising emails find their way into recipients’ primary inboxes. Gmail is participating in the “ Verified Sender Program, ” which allows senders to bypasses traditional spam filters, but also gives users the option of unsubscribing from a sender. If the unsubscribe button is hit, a sender is supposed to remove that Gmail address from their distribution lists.

 

As of Friday evening, the RNC had not signed up to participate in the pilot program.

 

Republicans who have tried to cast doubt on the outcome of the 2020 election without parroting the most extreme and baseless claims about corrupted voting machines and stolen votes have often tried to blame big technology companies like Twitter and Facebook that they allege were biased against former President Donald Trump. A long list of state and local election officials, courts and members of Trump’s own administration have said there is no evidence of the mass fraud Trump alleges.

ROME — Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently published a sharp letter excoriating the Vatican’s plans to renew an agreement with the Chinese government on Church operations in CHINA. He promoted the article in a tweet, concluding, “The Vatican endangers its moral authority, should it renew the deal.”

 

An indignant Vatican took the article more as a calculated affront than a diplomatic gesture. The friction broke into the open on Wednesday as Mr. Pompeo arrived in Rome and met with prelates and others who are hostile to Pope Francis, while the Vatican denied him a meeting with the pontiff and rebuffed his efforts to derail the deal with CHINA.

 

“Pompeo asked to meet” the pope, who turned him down because Francis had “clearly said that he does not receive political figures ahead of the elections,” Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who, as secretary of state, is the Vatican’s second-ranking official, told reporters.

 

But to some observers on both sides of the tensions between the Roman Catholic Church and the Trump administration, Mr. Pompeo’s visit is as much about the coming presidential election as about CHINA policy. Mr. Pompeo dismissed that suggestion as absurd, but intended or not, his trip signals that President Trump is on the side of those conservative American Catholics who worry about the church’s direction under Francis and think he is soft on CHINA.

 

Francis and Mr. Trump, who have exchanged sharp words in the past, present starkly different visions on issues ranging from the environment to immigration to the threat of populism. In appealing to the Vatican’s support for religious freedom as a reason to drop its CHINA agreement, Mr. Pompeo seemed to seek common ground, but in a way that upset the pope’s chief allies and delighted his chief critics.

 

Cardinal Parolin said Mr. Pompeo’s article had caused “surprise” at the Vatican, because this visit to Rome by the secretary and the meetings with high officials at the Holy See had already been in the works and would have been a “more opportune” forum for airing grievances. He added that Mr. Pompeo’s choice to publish in First Things, a conservative Christian magazine that has called Francis a failure as Pope, also mattered.

Fax-Spamming Could Cost Bucs $270 Million

 

In the age of digital communication, fax machines are archaic, outdated, and more than slightly annoying. It turns out it can be quite costly as well.

The Tampa Bay Bucs are currently being sued by a Gainesville business that was annoyed by faxed ads for ticket sales in 2009. They decided to take this annoyance to court and the potential fines faced by the NFL franchise could add up to $270 million given the volume of the faxes that went out.

 

Attorney Michael Addison is suing based on the Junk Fax Prevention Act of 2005. It is unclear whether the Bucs have ceased sending out faxes, but, after two straight seasons of finishing in 4th in the NFC South, they may be looking for more annoying ways to get Floridians to purchase tickets.

Smuggler Gangs’ Gunfights For Business in Migrant Camps on English Channel: Report

 

Smuggler gangs competing for the lucrative business of trafficking humans across the English Channel into soft-touch Britain are shooting it out between themselves just miles from the UK border, eye-witnesses state.

 

Gunshots rang out across the notorious Grande-Synthe migrant camp on Saturday morning just hours before overloaded boats put to sea in bad weather in an effort to force entry in the United Kingdom which, tragically, led to at least six deaths. According to a report in UK newspaper of record The Times, which says it has spoken to migrants who were in the camp, and said they were woken by gunfire that morning.

 

A 15-year-old from Afghanistan told the paper that there was shooting and screaming, and that he believed the shooting to be over a dispute between Kurdish and Afghan smuggling gangs. An Iraqi appeared to confirm the story, telling the newspaper that such turf wars in the camps “happens all the time” and that he thought “I think they just fire their guns in the air mainly to frighten each other. This place is full of bad people.”

 

The report underlines the situation proliferating across Europe, that where there are weak borders and insufficient law enforcement there are smuggling gangs, and where there are smuggling gangs there is violence. As previously reported, gun battles between different ethnically-based smuggler gangs have reached a more developed state in Serbia where Afghan and Pakistani human traffickers exchange fire nightly to win control of territory and business.

 

Far from simply shooting into the air, major pitched battles have been reported, with injuries and fatalities. Unfortunately for those who pay considerable amounts of money to the gangs to be smuggled into Europe and Britain, this violence is rarely confined to the smugglers and Europe’s courts have had years of cases of traffickers sent down for beating, killing, and raping those who paid them for clandestine travel. In some cases, people smugglers pimp out underage migrant girls in ‘exchange’ for their passage.

 

The ramping violence may be explained by the large sums of money involved, as callous trafficking gangs capitalise upon Europe’s aversion to border control. Smuggling people into Europe is an industry worth billions of dollars every year, and particularly where sea crossings are involved, cornsers cut means a greater profit margin.

 

This is bad news for the migrants themselves, tempted to Europe by the promise of a better life and lax border controls, who are crowded into unseaworthy craft at thousands of dollars per head. This is a system that seems to be intensifying in the English Channel — the site of a deadly tragedy this past week — where government figures show more migrants are crammed per boat now than ever before.

 

As reported, there were an average of 52 people per migrant boat trying to force entry to the United Kingdom in July.

A London lesbian speed-dating event has been shut down amid accusations of transphobia after organisers had limited the event to only “adult human females”.

 

A weekly speed dating evening for lesbians in the Bloomsbury district of London has become a target of woke activists after discovering that it prohibited biological males from attending the event.

 

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the founder of the speed dating event, Jenny Watson, said that she was forced to enact a ban on transgender people from attending last year after a man came to the pub wearing a purple latex costume while having “an erection”.

 

“Another time, a trans woman came into the female toilet and pushed their body at a woman who was upset and told me after. It got me thinking that this isn’t fair on women,” Watson explained.

 

“Transgender individuals deserve respect. But there is a need for protection of sex-segregated spaces for lesbian women.”

 

In response to biological males showing up to the lesbian event, Watson wrote on her website last week: “If you are male, please refrain from coming to the events, you are not a lesbian,” while posting on social media that only “adult human females” should attend.

 

Her declaration that people with penises cannot, in fact, be lesbians enraged local LGBTQ+ activists, who reported the event to the local government council for being transphobic.

 

Appearing on Free Speech Nation with Andrew Doyle on GB News on Sunday, Watson said that the Stonegate Group, which owns the College Arms pub where the event has been taking place for over four years, has shut down the event.

 

During the programme, Doyle shared WhatsApp messages to woke activists allegedly from a manager at the Stonegate Group indicating his political bias, reportedly referring to Watson as a “Terfy asshole”. The term Terf (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) has become a common slur used against female opponents of the excesses of the transgender movement, such as its encroachment on women’s only spaces and the negative impacts on children.

 

The unnamed manager said in the messages that he intended on shutting down the lesbian speed dating event and to replace it with another with “inclusivity” as a core principle, undermining claims that the decision to cancel it was a “commercial decision”.

 

Watson said that she is finding it difficult to find a replacement venue, claiming that transgenderism activists are discouraging others from allowing the event to take place, accusing her organisation of being a “hate group”

 

Responding to cancellation, author Helen Joyce — who is often branded as a Terf herself by the radical left — said on social media: “This story is immensely distressing. A Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation order was issued Sunday night in Lane County, Oregon, due to the rapid spread of the Lookout Fire in the Willamette National Forest north of McKenzie Bridge.

48 Migrants Rescued From Sinking Smuggler Boat by Greek Coast Guard

 

ATHENS, Greece (AP) – Greek authorities said Sunday they had safely rescued 48 migrants from a rudderless inflatable boat off the island of Lesbos, close to the Turkish coast.

 

A coast guard vessel on patrol off the island sighted the boat Sunday morning, the Greek coast guard said in a communique.

 

The crew “carried out the safe evacuation and rescue of 48 foreigners, who were transported to the port of Mytilene,” the island’s capital, the coast guard said.

 

“Three of those rescued were picked up by an ambulance and taken to the General Hospital of Mytilene for the provision of first aid, where they remain hospitalized,” it added.

 

The coast guard did not mention the ethnicities of the migrants, but a YouTube video it released shows most of them are Africans.

 

The packed inflatable vessel sank, the coast guard said.

 

Greece has seen a rise in migrant arrivals from Turkey, mostly by sea, in recent weeks amid more clement summer sailing conditions.

Large Mulch Fire Breaks Out in Houston, Texas

 

Houston Fire Department (HFD) responded to a large fire at the Living Earth mulch facility in Houston, Texas on Sunday.

 

The call to action was prompted at around 2:27 p.m., as a towering plume of smoke was reported to have been seen in the vicinity, according to FOX 26.

 

The fire rapidly spread to several other large mounds of mulch, prompting an immediate and determined response from the firefighters.

 

The HFD’s efforts managed to prevent the flames from reaching a nearby warehouse on the property. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

 

“Our first concern is always going to be our firefighters, so we’ve been diligent about rotating them out and ensuring they’re taking their breaks while on this location,” said Martee Black, Public Information Officer for the Houston Fire Dept.

 

In an update, the Houston Fire Department confirmed that the fire had been isolated but would continue to burn and smolder until heavy machinery could be brought in to spread the burning material apart, enabling full extinguishment.

 

Concurrently, the Health Department remains vigilant, monitoring air quality, urging the public to avoid the area.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) – A senior Swedish official said Monday Swedes abroad and businesses linked to Sweden”should observe increased vigilance and caution,” following recent Quran burnings in the country and protests in the Muslim world.

 

Henrik Landerholm, Sweden´s National Security Adviser, said there are signs of “a heightened threat” to the country and to Swedish interests abroad, adding the security situation has worsened.

 

In a statement, Landerholm said that “representatives of terrorist groups have called for attacks against Sweden. States and other actors have helped amplify such messages.” He said Sweden has gone from being considered a “legitimate” target to being a “priority” target. The statement did not identify those involved.

 

Landerholm said there also were “indications” that groups are planning other acts against Swedish interests abroad, and cited the storming of Sweden´s Embassy in Baghdad last month and an attempted attack on the diplomatic mission in Beirut last week.

 

The Swedish government and relevant authorities “are monitoring developments, taking a variety of measures and working closely with international partners to protect Swedes and Swedish interests abroad and to counteract the hate messages being spread about Sweden,” he said,

 

This month, Sweden stepped up border controls and identity checks at crossing points.

 

A recent string of public Quran desecrations by a handful of anti-Islam activists in Sweden – and more recently in neighboring Denmark — has sparked angry demonstrations in Muslim countries.

 

Sweden does not have a law specifically prohibiting the burning or desecration of the Quran or other religious texts. Like many Western countries, it doesn´t have any blasphemy laws; Sweden´s were abandoned in the 1970s.

 

The right to hold public demonstration s is protected by the Swedish Constitution. Police generally give permission based on whether they believe a public gathering can be held without major disruptions or risks to public safety.

 

Swedish officials repeatedly have condemned the desecrations and have also debunked claims that the government in Sweden grants permission for people to burn Islam´s sacred text or other religious books,

 

Last month, the Scandinavian country´s domestic security service SAPO said the overall security situation has deteriorated and said the risk of terrorism in Sweden remains at an elevated level.

Failures in Ukraine’s much-touted counteroffensive against Russia stem from the West’s inability to provide Kiev with the necessary military equipment within a reasonable timeframe, former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has said.

 

In an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal published on Sunday, Bolton lamented that Kiev’s long-anticipated push, which started in early June, “isn’t making the headway some proponents had forecast,” adding that the disappointing results must become a “wake-up” call for Washington.

 

The former White House official – widely regarded as a foreign-policy hawk and who has advocated regime changes in Iran, Syria, Libya, and Cuba – insisted in his article that Kiev’s “inability to achieve major advances is the natural result of a US strategy aimed only at staving off Russian conquest,” while he also urged US President Joe Biden to start “vigorously working toward Ukrainian victory.”

 

“Ukraine’s offensive failures and Russia’s defensive successes share a common cause: the slow, faltering, non-strategic supply of military assistance by the West,” Bolton claimed, adding that the US-led support for Kiev has been hampered further by speculation that Moscow might escalate the conflict.

 

Bolton, who served in the Trump administration up to 2019, sought to allay those concerns, insisting that “there’s no evidence” that Russia has conventional military capability to threaten NATO or a desire to launch a nuclear strike. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it adheres to the policy that nuclear war should never be fought, and that it might resort to its atomic arsenal only if the very existence of the state is threatened.

 

The former national security adviser also dismissed the need for talks between Kiev and Moscow, arguing that these would only benefit Russia. Instead, he suggested that the West and Washington should radically tighten their sanctions regime.

 

In addition, he called on Washington to slap restrictions directly on China, citing its “enormous support” for Moscow. While Beijing remains Russia’s key trade partner, it has repeatedly denied that it was providing Moscow with military support.

 

Ukrainian forces initiated a large-scale offensive against Russian lines over two months ago, after being reinforced by hundreds of Western-supplied tanks and armored vehicles. However, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev has so far failed to gain any significant ground and has lost more than 43,000 service members since the start of the push.

 

Bolton’s view on the reasons for Ukraine’s difficulties is shared by a number of Ukrainian officials, including President Vladimir Zelensky, who has suggested that without long-range weapons, it’s difficult for Kiev not only to carry out its offensive, but also to hold the frontline.

 

Moscow has repeatedly warned Western countries against sending military assistance to Kiev, arguing that by doing so, they become engaged in a “proxy war” against Russia.

Google has partnered with the United Nations, World Health Organization and others in a new global censorship tool that was recently introduced. Google News Lab is “a team within the Google News Initiative (GNI) whose mission is to collaborate with journalists to fight misinformation”. GNI uses “Fact Check Tools” to eliminate dissent. The goal is to have one point of view that Google calls ‘Data Commons’. A critic wrote that Google’s algorithms are designed to delete websites that criticize topics such as Covid-19 statistics, the World Bank, the FBI’s crime statistics, PharmGKB database and a one-world global government.

Publications across America have traditionally responded to news that has either damaged a political party or an individual tied to a scandal on a Friday. In the world of journalism, it’s referred to as “news dump day” because most people in the business of publishing news know that traffic is traditionally at its lowest point on Friday. For example, if a story like the one published on the Gateway Pundit on Tuesday, which revealed a stunning cover-up of a massive multi-state investigation by MI AG Dana Nessel and MI SOS Jocelyn Benson’s office was published on Tuesday, it would make sense that Craig Mauger, their go-to-guy at the Detroit News, would publish an article to defend their indefensible silence on Friday.

 

It took Democrat defender and Detroit News writer Craig Mauger a full three days to compose a response to the Gateway Pundit’s bombshell story that exposed Michigan’s top law enforcement officer and top election official as two individuals who’ve been lying to their constituents for almost three years about there being no “widespread voter fraud” in Michigan. The Detroit News headline hilariously reads:

What Craig Mauger curiously leaves out of his headline is a critically important detail—The Michigan State Police report initiated in October 2020 was taken over by the FBI in 2021. To the average reader, the Detroit News headline would suggest that Dana Nessel’s Attorney General’s office turned the investigation over to the FBI, but that’s not exactly what happened. At no point in Craig Mauger’s article, which is based entirely on statements by AG Nessel’s Press Secretary Danny Wimmer, does he mention why the FBI took over the report. In fact, no place in his article mentions how or when the FBI stepped in and took over the investigation.

 

But even more disturbing than the deceitful headline is the portion near the bottom of Mauger’s article, where Wimmer outlines the details about the semi-automatic rifles and guns with silencers that were found in one of the many vacant suites in Southfield, MI, used by GBI Strategies employees in their “voter registration” ring.

 

Mauger writes:

 

Gateway Pundit and other conservative websites have highlighted that “bags of pre-paid gift cards, guns with silencers (and) burner phones” were found during the search.

 

But substantiating evidence of a crime wasn’t found during the search, Wimmer said.

 

What Mr. Wimmer fails to mention is that there was a whiteboard found in the same room as the weapons. According to the report, “One of the white boards had several notes on it. One of the categories was “Hot Topics.” Under “Hot Topics,” listed: weapons in the field, prepared for shifts.”

 

If Craig Mauger were even a second-rate journalist, he would’ve asked why a whiteboard located in the room with a large cache of guns with silencers mentioned “weapons in the field” that were “prepared for shifts.”

 

The article, which is essentially a press release from Dana Nessel’s office, continues:

 

“Detected in this search were pay cards, pre-pay style cell phones and voter registration forms, all determined to be normal operational devices in GBI Strategies’ line of work,” Wimmer said. “Also found during the search were several firearms, which prompted a response from federal agents of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.

 

“All detected firearms were determined by federal authorities to be legally owned and incidentally stored in the location by an employee irrelevant to the business purposes of GBI Strategies. None of the materials seized resulted in furthering evidence of voter fraud.”

Poland To Hold a Referendum on Illegal Immigration – Move Comes as Polish-Belarusian Border Has Become the Most Dangerous in the EU

 

Poland’s ruling party, ‘Law and Justice’, has decided to hold a referendum to ask the voters whether they support receiving illegal migrants by the thousands.

 

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has announced the decision in a new video published on social media. This is planned to take place alongside next election on October 15th.

 

Besides disagreements over migration, ‘Law and Justice’ has long been in conflict with the EU over a perception that the Warsaw government has been ‘eroding democratic norms’.

 

Associated Press reported:

 

“Poland’s ruling party wants to ask voters in a referendum whether they support accepting “thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa” as part of a European Union relocation plan, the prime minister said Sunday, as his conservative party seeks to hold onto power in an October parliamentary election.”

 

The ‘Law and Justice’ party will use migration in its campaign like it did when it took power, in 2015.

 

“Poland currently hosts more than a million Ukrainian refugees, who are primarily white and Christian, but officials have long made clear that they consider Muslims and others from different cultures to be a threat to the nation’s cultural identity and security.”

 

The EU’s joint policy for illegal migrants became one of the bloc’s biggest and longest-running political crises.

 

“Morawiecki said that the question would say: ‘Do you support the admission of thousands of illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa under the forced relocation mechanism imposed by the European bureaucracy?’

 

The video announcing the question includes scenes of burning cars and other street violence in Western Europe. A Black man licks a huge knife in apparent anticipation of committing a crime. Party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski then says: ‘Do you want this to happen in Poland as well? Do you want to cease being masters of your own country?’”

 

After the asylum system collapse, in 2015, there has been an ongoing fight over the responsibility for illegals.

 

Poland became a front-line state two years ago when migrants began crossing from Belarus.

 

So, now, the Polish government will deploy an additional 2,000 troops to its border with Belarus to counter growing migration pressure on the area.

“At the time [2021], large numbers of migrants from the Middle East and Africa arrived at the border, their travel there facilitated by flights and visas provided by the Minsk government — something Warsaw considered to be a form of ‘hybrid warfare’.

 

[…] The new troops will be an addition to the 2,000 already at the border. They support the work of hundreds of police and Border Guard officers, according to [Polish News Agency] PAP.”

 

In the process of building Europe’s largest army, Poland will eventually deploy a total 10,000 soldiers to the border to withstand the ‘hybrid warfare’.

 

The Telegraph reported:

 

“Where there used to be just poles with Poland’s barbershop stripes and Belarus’ faded Soviet insignia dividing the two countries, a 116-mile long 12-foot-high fence now stands along what is perhaps the EU’s most dangerous border.”

 

Initially illegals came from the Middle East, but now migrants are now coming from countries as India and sub-Saharan Africa.

 

“It is a kind of luxury way to get into Europe compared to crossing the Mediterranean” explains [Polish official] Ms Zdanowicz who says that sometimes the migrants are well equipped and look more like tourists than desperate refugees. While some are fleeing conflict, others are “naive” heading to Germany and Scandinavia looking for better economic opportunities, she said.”

Rep. Jordan Touts Weaponization Panel’s Role in Exposing Government–Big Tech Censorship

 

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who chairs the Weaponization subcommittee, has said that the panel’s investigation “has uncovered smoking gun documents showing how Big Tech and Big Government worked together to stifle free speech online.”

 

On Aug. 7, Mr. Jordan was one of 12 congressional Republicans who joined a lawsuit against the Biden administration’s censorship-by-proxy scheme that involved pressuring social media companies to stifle free speech.

 

The Weaponization subcommittee recently obtained a cache of files documenting alleged government collusion with Facebook to silence speech protected under the First Amendment.

 

“We know through the Facebook Files that the Biden Administration directed Big Tech companies to censor speech the government disagreed with, and launched a pressure campaign when companies did not comply with these censorship orders quickly enough,” Mr. Jordan said.

 

In May 2022, Republican attorneys general in Louisiana and Missouri filed a lawsuit against President Joe Biden and multiple government agencies, alleging that they pushed social media platforms to censor posts and remove accounts in what the complaint said was one of the “greatest assaults” on freedom of speech by the federal government in U.S. history.

 

Judge Terry A. Doughty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana ruled in favor of the attorneys general on July 4, issuing an injunction that banned government agencies from contacting or working with Big Tech companies to censor social media posts.

 

The Biden administration appealed, and on July 14 a three-judge panel for the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans granted the government’s request to place the censorship-by-proxy ban on hold.

Former U.S. assistant attorney Andy McCarthy said Monday on Fox News that newly appointed special counsel David Weiss may have a way to ensure President Joe Biden wins his reelection campaign.

 

Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Friday that Weiss would be appointed special counsel to continue the ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden. Weiss came under scrutiny after IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley testified that Weiss was not in control of the Hunter investigation. English Channel Migrant Crisis to Last At Least Another Five Years, Admits Leaked Govt Document

 

The waves of illegal migrants pouring across the English Channel is likely to last at least another five years, according to a leaked memo from the British government.

 

In a repudiation of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s pledge to “stop the boats” carrying illegals from the French coasts, an internal document drafted within the Home Office on potential sites to hold migrants instead of continuing the exorbitantly expensive Covid-era policy of putting them up in hotels across the country tacitly admitted that the government is expecting the crisis to continue for five years, or perhaps longer.

 

The document, which was drafted in March, laid out the value for money (VfM) of four different locations including former military bases and prisons, according to The Telegraph.

 

“[Civil servant’s name] is satisfied with VfM [value for money] on Bexhill, Wethersfield and Scampton – on the former two we are saying there is VfM across the 5 years planned for the sites (Bexhill would potential be used for longer),” the memo stated.

 

“This assumes we are in hotels for that period. If we are not, and/or if our costs are higher than we have estimated, there could be issues on VfM. On Scampton, our recommendation (with HS [Home Secretary]) is to use the site for 3 years rather than 2.”

 

The document appears, therefore, to suggest that despite Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s pledge to end the people smuggler trade across the Channel, the government is expecting the practice to continue for the foreseeable future.

 

In June, Mr Sunak travelled to Dover — the coastal area where most illegals are brought ashore in Britain after typically being escorted by the French navy into UK waters — to deliver a speech hailing the success of his government’s policies in stemming the tide of boat migrants.

 

However, the prime minister was mocked for seemingly taking credit for the inclement weather, which had made crossings of the Channel difficult over the previous months. Indeed, just days following his speech, thousands of migrants began making the journey once again as the weather broke.

 

The policies enacted by Sunak’s government have seemingly been a mere continuation of those put forward by his former boss, Boris Johnson, namely paying France hundreds of millions in payoffs to step up police patrols of migrant camp areas like Calais and to hope that a deterrence factor will eventually be put in place if the courts finally approve the scheme to send illegals to a third-party country such as Rwanda.

 

So far this year, over 16,000 illegals have crossed the Channel, compared to around 18,600 at this time last year. Since the crisis began in earnest in 2018, over 100,000 migrants have reached British shores in small boats.

 

This has been a major contributing factor to the growing backlog of approximately 170,000 alleged asylum seekers awaiting their decision and the 51,000 being put up in hotels across the country at a cost of £6 million per day.

300 Children Murdered in Five Years in Mexican Border State, Say Officials

 

Public officials and activists are sounding the alarm that more than 300 children were murdered in the Mexican border state of Baja California during a five-year period. In many cases, those victims were killed as gunmen targeted a loved one nearby.

 

According to information released by the Baja California State Human Rights Commission, between 2017 and 2022, there were more than 300 underage murder victims in Baja California. The group’s leader, Miguel Angel Mora Marrufo, told the local news outlet AFN Tijuana, that the rise in murders is alarming and he was reaching out to the United Nations after seeing no real response from Mexico’s government.

 

Mora stated that children are innocent victims and should not be considered collateral damage as government officials have been doing.

 

The statements come soon after a group of gunmen shot and killed a four-year-old child and injured his mother and 12-year-old brother in Tecate, Baja California. The attack took place last week when the family was driving along a city street and a van pulled up next to them, Mexico’s N+ reported. The gunmen began shooting at the woman and children and chased them down as she tried to flee. Once the woman managed to drive away, she sought medical attention for her children. The gunmen also shot a 24-year-old man who was described as a bystander.

 

Just days before that murder, gunmen shot and killed two boys, ages 11 and 13, as they slept in their mobile home in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico’s Proceso reported. Since then, authorities arrested one individual and continued to search for several other gunmen who are believed to have shot at the house from outside. Authorities have not revealed if the gunmen were targeting a relative or if they shot at the house by mistake.

 

The murder took place earlier this month in an area that has been plagued by cartel violence as rival organizations, including the Tijuana Cartel, the Sinaloa Cartel, and Cartel Jalisco New Generation, fight for control of lucrative drug corridors and various other businesses such as casinos and brothels.

US, Finland Negotiating Defense Agreement That Would See Deployment of American Troops

 

Washington and Helsinki are in the process of establishing a new defense cooperation agreement that would see expended deployments of American soldiers and Finland hosting war games.

 

Washington and Helsinki are working on a new deal to govern the military relationship between the two nations. Finland recently became the thirty-first member of NATO, doubling the alliance’s border with Russia.

 

According to YLE News, Finnish state media, Helsinki and Washington are negotiating a new Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA). YLE said the new deal would be a “significant departure from its previous” DCA with the US.

 

Finland held a prolonged policy of official neutrality prior to joining NATO earlier this year. However, Helsinki established deep ties with the bloc over recent decades. The new DCA will expand America’s military presence to several Finnish bases, including ports and airports.

 

The outlet reports the new DCA will “permit the presence of foreign troops for extended periods, specifically for conventional military exercises…[and] grant US military personnel access to facilities and areas within Finland for training, weapons storage, and equipment maintenance.”

 

The war games and NATO soldiers will be viewed as a provocation by Russia, which shares an 800 miles border with Finland. Helsinki already hosts NATO troops for military drills near the Russian border.

 

When Helsinki announced its intention to join the North Atlantic bloc last year, the Kremlin warned about additional international troop deployments in Finland. Last week, Moscow announced it would deploy additional military assets to its border with NATO members.

 

Finnish negotiations have expressed some reservations about expanding the DCA with the US. YLE explains, “noting that the agreement excludes nuclear weapons,” and Helsinki wants all integration troops deployments to be labeled as temporary.

Why America’s Military Has Consistently Failed Since 1991

 

Ever since the U.S. military successfully defeated in Kuwait Iraq’s invasion against Kuwait, the U.S. military has sent U.S. forces abroad on around 250 occasions, according to the Congressional Research Service’s 7 June 2023 Report, “Instances of Use of United States Armed Forces Abroad, 1798-2023”, to conflicts (or sometimes national emergencies) in: Zaire, Sierra Leone, Iraq, Bosnia, Somalia, Macedonia, Haiti, Bosnia, Rwanda, Liberia, Central African Republic, Albania, Congo, Gabon, Cambodia, Guinea-Bisau, Kenya, Tanzania, Afghanistan, Sudan, Kosovo, East Timor, Yemen, Philippines, Cote d’Ivoire, Georgia, Greece, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Uganda, Niger, Jordan, Burundi, South Korea, Ukraine, Poland, Senegal, West Africa, Lithuania, Kuwait, Cameroon, Turkey, Cuba, Guatemala, Germany, Romania, Honduras, Syria, Peru, Uruguay, England, Sri Lanka, St. Maarten, Colombia, El Salvador, Trinidad, Thailand, Ukraine, Ecuador, Japan, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Panama, Tonga, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Denmark, and Latvia. Most of these countries were being sent U.S. troops and/or weapons, and training, on more than one occasion; and some of these engagements were requested by the recipient’s Government for help to keep it in power, and some were sent to entire regions instead of to individual nations, such as, for example: “On February 12, 2020, the Secretary of Defense announced that the Army’s 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade, based at Fort Benning, GA, would deploy to Africa to provide training and assistance to African forces as a way to better compete with Russia and China … to ensure support with the National Defense Strategy’s priorities.” And, in 2022, America had “approximately 100,000 military personnel either permanently stationed or deployed to Europe and its waters.145” So: those 100,000 were permanent forces, military occupation, instead of temporary ones. But if the objective was against “terrorism,” and if this meant actually against jihadism, then where were the victories against that? And if the mission was instead for regime-change in Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, etc., then where were the victories for that? Has there ever been a victory against Iraq, which we invaded many times and still occupy? There is coercion against Iraq, but where is the victory against Iraq? We destroyed Iraq, but never defeated it. Where is the victory against Libya? Where is the victory against Syria? America destroys lots of countries. Where is the victory against Ukraine (there was a generally successful U.S. coup there in February 2014, it turned Ukraine into a U.S. vassal-nation, a U.S. colony — but where is the U.S. victory in Ukraine now, after the U.S. coup)? Where is that victory now, 9 years after America’s successful takeover of Ukraine so as to defeat Russia?

New footage confirms fake Trump elector spent hours inside Georgia elections office day it was breached

Newly obtained surveillance video shows for the first time what happened inside a Georgia county elections office the day its voting systems are known to have been breached on January 7, 2021.

 

A Republican county official in Georgia and operatives working with an attorney for former President Donald Trump spent hours inside a restricted area of the Coffee County elections office that day. Among those seen in the footage is Cathy Latham, a former GOP chairwoman of Coffee County who is under criminal investigation for posing as a fake elector in 2020.

 

CNN previously reported that Latham escorted operatives working with former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell through the front door of the elections office on January 7, 2021. The new footage appears to undercut previous claims by Latham that she was not “personally involved” in the breach.

 

The new video, obtained as part of a years-long civil lawsuit in Georgia related to the security of voting systems there, shows Latham remained in the office for hours as those same operatives set up computers near election equipment and appear to access voting data.

 

The footage also features the two men Latham escorted into the building earlier that day, Scott Hall and Paul Maggio, both of whom have acknowledged they were part of a team that gained access to Coffee County’s voting systems.

 

Maggio did not respond to CNN’s request for comment. The data firm he works for, SullivanStrickler, which court documents show was hired by Powell, previously said in a statement to CNN that it was “directed by attorneys to contact county election officials to obtain access to certain data” in Georgia and also “directed by attorneys to distribute that data to certain individuals.”

 

In an August 29, 2022 email, an attorney for SullivanStrickler acknowledges that Latham was the “primary point of contact” in coordinating the team’s visit to Coffee County.

 

The firm said it had no reason to believe these attorneys would ask or direct it to “do anything either improper or illegal.”

 

A lawyer representing Latham pushed back on the claim she was the primary point of contact for the SullivanStrickler team, telling CNN that the calls she can be seen in the video making are not with anyone from the firm.

 

“There is no evidence of which we are aware that Mrs. Latham spoke to Ms. Powell or to anyone at SullivanStrickler on or before January 6, 2021. And indeed there is no evidence of which we are aware that Mrs. Latham spoke to Ms. Powell or to anyone at SullivanStrickler on or before January 6, 2021,” the lawyer added.

 

A second lawyer representing Latham, Bob Cheeley, previously told CNN, “Cathy Latham has dedicated significant time and effort over many years protecting the integrity of elections in Coffee County, Georgia. She would not and has not knowingly been involved in any impropriety in any election.”

 

The new video also shows a third operative, Jeffery Lenberg, entering the restricted server room inside the Coffee County elections office more than two weeks later on January 26. Lenberg is under criminal investigation by the Michigan state attorney general in connection to a series of voting system breaches there.

 

Also gaining access to the Coffee County elections office in late January 2021 was Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan, who oversaw the partisan election audit in Maricopa County, Arizona, and is also a target of the Michigan criminal investigation.

 

According to court documents, Logan and Maggio are part of a team that gained access to voting systems in Antrim County, Michigan at the end of 2020 – ultimately leading to a since-debunked report on Dominion voting system vulnerabilities that remains at the center of baseless claims about widespread voter fraud pushed by Trump and his allies.

 

Surveillance video from the exterior of the building shows Logan visited the Coffee County elections office more than once in January 2021, roughly two weeks after the breach took place. CNN has reached out to attorneys for Logan.

 

Lenburg has not denied visiting the Coffee County elections office but claimed on an internet show last week that he and Logan only helped “direct” the “testing” of voting systems there.

 

“We didn’t do the testing. We just helped direct it. We actually didn’t touch the equipment. Doug Logan and I,” he said, adding that they just provided instructions to two Coffee County elections officials who handled the equipment at their direction.

EU Delivers Ukraine 224,000 Shells Under Ammo Plan

 

The EU has delivered Ukraine 223,800 shells under the first part of a plan to provide a million artillery rounds to aid Kyiv’s fight against Russia, a spokesman said on Friday.

 

Earlier this year, the 27-nation European Union pledged to step up supplies of much-needed artillery shells to Ukraine as Kyiv’s forces faced shortfalls.

 

Its members agreed to a two-billion-euro ($2.18-billion) plan to raid their stockpiles and place joint orders for shells, in a bid to deliver Ukraine a million shells over 12 months.

 

Under the first stage of the plan, running between February 9 and May 31, one billion euros was earmarked to reimburse EU members roughly half the cost of shells provided from their existing arsenals.

 

“Member states have delivered around 223,800 artillery ammunition — long-range self-propelled, precision-guided ammunitions as well as mortar ammunitions — and 2,300 missiles of all types,” EU spokesman Peter Stano said.

 

Overall, the total value of the ordnance provided was 1.1 billion euros, the EU said. EU funds reimbursed only part of that, suggesting the measure fell short of the target.

 

Friday’s new figure for artillery ammunition sent was just a small advance on the number — 220,000 shells — announced by EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell in late May.

 

EU countries had until July 15 to declare their deliveries.

 

This leaves the bloc and its members a long way off their target of one million shells by next spring.

 

In February, several EU capitals were already skeptical about vowing to hit a million, fearing they would fall short.

 

Under the second part of the plan, the EU’s defense agency is negotiating joint procurement contracts with European manufacturers for 155-mm howitzer shells and missiles.

 

“(The agency) expects framework contracts with industry to be signed in the coming weeks, allowing member states to place orders from then on,” the EU said.

 

Any contracts need to be concluded by the end of September to fall under the EU supply plan.

 

In total, the EU and its member states say they have spent some 20 billion euros supplying weaponry of all kinds to Ukraine since Russia invaded in February 2022.

 

As of July 25, the United States had committed more than $43.7 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, according to the Pentagon.

 

On Thursday, the White House asked the US Congress for another $13 billion in new military spending for Ukraine.

Despite assurances the Taliban wouldn’t surge to power and the US-backed Afghan government would hold, the capital toppled as the Western military left.

 

An Afghan-American interpreter even identified many Taliban fighters on the tarmac, ready to board flights bound for the U.S.

 

Many were allowed to travel unchecked because of alarming flaws in the vetting process and severe shortages in staff dealing with the roughly 82,000 evacuees taken to the U.S.

 

Around 70 percent of those who came from Afghanistan were not American citizens, green card holders or under the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program, according to a Congressional memo released in the aftermath.

 

The dangerous suspects took seats on flights meant for U.S. citizens and allies.

 

Thousands were left behind as the final U.S. soldier left Kabul after 20 years - and many are still trying to get out if they have managed to evade capture by the Taliban.

In the first six months of 2023, the UN recorded 591 settler-related incidents resulting in Palestinian casualties, property damage or both.

 

UNOCHA added that the Israeli occupation authorities demolished, confiscated or forced people to demolish 56 structures in East Jerusalem and Area C of the West Bank, including six homes, citing the lack of Israeli-issued building permits, which are almost impossible to obtain.

 

As a result, 23 Palestinians, including 12 children, were displaced, and the livelihoods of more than 3,500 others were affected.

SPLC expands 'Hate Map' by adding political and parents groups to hate extremists

 

It appears as if hate exploded in the United States last year, but SPLC's "Hate Map" data is inflated because 702 of 1,225 groups described by the map as "hate groups" are actually policy advocacy organizations with no connection to a "hateful" ideology.

 

The Southern Poverty Law Center is reporting a record low number of hate groups this year but is inflating the dots on its infamous "Hate Map" by redefining political policy and parents groups as anti-government organizations worthy of scrutiny.

 

The SPLC recorded 523 hate groups in its 2022 annual report. That is the fewest number of hate groups recorded since the SPLC started publishing its annual Hate Map in 2000. The organization doesn't mention this accomplishment in its annual report and instead focuses on hate they allege is being pushed by right-wing figures.

 

Rather than reflecting what most would find a cause for celebration, the latest Hate Map's headline states: "In 2022, we tracked 1,225 hate and antigovernment groups across the U.S."

 

All previous years' Hate Maps listed only hate groups, and 2022 had the highest number of groups tracked by the controversial "civil rights" organization. On the surface, it would appear as if hate exploded in the United States last year, by including 702 groups deemed "anti-government" into the data pool. The addition of policy groups inflated the totals on the map by 57%.

 

The SPLC acknowledged a difference between "hate groups" and "anti-government" groups: "Hate groups hold beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics, while antigovernment groups see the federal government as an enemy of the people and promote baseless conspiracy theories." The organization justified the commingling of the two because it claimed "far-right activists have embraced ever more violent rhetoric" and "their words are contributing to an atmosphere that breeds political violence."

 

Geographic errors in the map also abound. Most of the Moms for Liberty county chapters, of which there are 285 in 45 states, are placed in the middle of the states they are based out of, regardless of whether that is their actual location. The SPLC did not respond to requests for comment, or offer an explanation for their decision on where to locate the alleged hate groups.

Biden's Favorite Super PAC Used Illegal Scheme to Conceal Its Donors, Experts Say

 

Biden just months ago condemned dark money as a threat to democracy

 

President Joe Biden last year condemned so-called dark money as a "serious problem facing our democracy." Now, the unpopular Democrat is embracing a super PAC that experts say used an illegal scheme to conceal its donors.

 

The group, Future Forward, is led by former Obama campaign officials and has earned endorsements from Bidenworld as the "pre-eminent super PAC" supporting the president's reelection bid. Central to Future Forward's success is its ability to raise massive sums of money—nearly $400 million in the past five years—to run ads boosting Biden and other Democrats in battleground states. But the tactics Future Forward used to anonymously raise much of that money could lead to its downfall, legal experts told the Washington Free Beacon.

 

The Biden-endorsed super PAC’s largest donor is its affiliated dark money group, Future Forward USA Action, which as a nonprofit is not required to publicly disclose its donors. Should a donor direct the nonprofit to transfer their donation to Future Forward, however, the super PAC must reveal the donor's identity in federal campaign finance disclosures. Future Forward USA Action in its 2021 tax filings acknowledged that it "promptly and directly delivered" $3.4 million in donations to Future Forward—a designation that would require the super PAC to reveal donor identities, according to former Federal Election Commission chairman Bradley Smith. However, Future Forward declined to disclose who contributed the cash.

 

For Republican election lawyer Charlie Spies, Future Forward's failure to disclose donors who routed money through the dark money affiliate is a violation of federal election law. Spies noted that similar schemes have led to federal charges and "major fines."

 

"Future Forward USA Action admitted to making over $3 million in earmarked political contributions, where they apparently obscured the true super PAC donor's identity by routing the money through the nonprofit," Spies told the Free Beacon. "The U.S. DOJ has sent people to prison for this sort of illegal activity, and the FEC has imposed major fines on conservative organizations accused of less blatant earmarking."

 

Biden’s embrace of Future Forward comes less than a year after he endorsed a bill from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D., R.I.) that promised to end the "scourge of dark money" corrupting American democracy. Biden told reporters in September that dark money, which consists of political contributions that cannot be traced to a donor, "erodes public trust" and should be outlawed. The Senate deadlocked 49-49 on the bill shortly after Biden’s remarks.

 

Now, as recent polls show Biden in a statistical tie in a 2024 rematch against former President Donald Trump, the Biden campaign is suggesting the president could soon headline fundraisers for Future Forward. Biden campaign manager Jennifer O’Malley Dillon in July called Future Forward’s work "critical" to the president’s 2020 victory and said the super PAC would "again play a key role" supporting his 2024 bid.

Jack Smith’s latest indictment of Donald Trump isn’t yet two weeks old, but the alleged “co-conspirators” it identifies are already beginning to turn on each other — and some of them aren’t even being subtle about it.

 

A number of the ex-president’s chief lieutenants and alleged co-conspirators in the plot to overturn the election, such as conservative attorney John Eastman, have insisted the effort was perfectly legal and based on sound evidence. Others, however, have recently sought to distance themselves from the efforts of others, implicitly heaping the blame for any potential criminal conduct onto fellow participants in Trump’s attempted coup.

 

“It is the ‘please don’t put me in jail, put that other guy in jail’ strategy that was sure to come up at some point or another,” says one attorney working in Trump’s legal orbit.

 

Attorneys for veterans of Trump’s post-election activities like Rudy Giuliani and Kenneth Chesebro — both of whom have been identified as among the six unnamed “co-conspirators” in the most recent federal indictment of Trump — are now casting blame toward others on the campaign’s legal team or people close to the then-president. Giuliani and his lawyer are now openly trashing and blaming the “crackpot” alleged activities of Sidney Powell, another lawyer who worked on Trump’s post-election efforts. On top of that, Chesebro, the key architect of Trump’s fake-electors ploy, is now trying to downplay his involvement in the effort, spreading the possible blame and criminal exposure elsewhere.

 

And in recent weeks, Trump and his own lawyers have made abundantly clear that part of their legal defense will lean heavily on “advice of counsel” arguments — in other words, it will involve scapegoating attorneys who were only doing what Trump instructed them to do, or wanted them to do.

…. The feud between Giuliani and Sidney Powell — another attorney and alleged Trump co-conspirator — is among those probed by prosecutors, sources with knowledge of the situation say. Recent witnesses have offered up details on the behind-the-scenes animosity between the two attorneys. They’ve also told investigators their accounts of the former New York mayor’s private antics during the months following Election Day 2020.

 

Adding to the intra-MAGAland tensions overflowing into public view, Robert Costello, Giuliani’s lawyer, attempted to put as much space as possible between his client and some of Powell’s work to keep Trump in power, emphatically telling CNN: “Rudy Giuliani had nothing to do with this” and “you can’t attach Rudy Giuliani to Sidney Powell’s crackpot idea.”

International Crackdown on West African Organized Crime Nets 103 Suspects

 

A comprehensive international operation led to the detention of 103 individuals and the seizure of over two million euros (US$2.19 million) from West African organized crime groups groups that have turned into a serious global security threat.

 

The “Black Axe” and other West African organized crime groups have gained notoriety for their involvement in various cyber-enabled financial fraud schemes, including business email compromise, romance scams, inheritance scams, credit card fraud, tax fraud, advance payment scams, and money laundering.

 

The operation, conducted between May 15 and 29, involved law enforcement agencies from 21 countries and focused on disrupting the activities of such groups, Interpol announced last week.

 

Interpol's Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Centre Director, Isaac Kehinde Oginni, emphasized that Interpol is dedicated to collaborating with member countries to dismantle these groups and freeze their ill-gotten assets. Oginni reiterated that tackling the illegal activities of Black Axe and similar syndicates remains a priority for Interpol.

 

The extensive investigation identified 1,110 suspects, and blocked 208 bank accounts. Nearly half of the seized money was recovered in Portugal while 34 suspects were detained in Ireland.
