Saudi Arabia will be co-hosting an event on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly next week focused on revamping the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, three UN diplomats told The Times of Israel on Thursday.

The event, titled “Peace Day Effort for Middle East Peace,” will take place on Monday and is being put on by Saudi Arabia along with the Arab League and the European Union in cooperation with Egypt and Jordan, one of the diplomats said.UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will be the keynote speaker.

Neither the Israeli nor the Palestinian missions were invited to the event, the UN diplomat said, explaining that it is focused on congregating important global stakeholders on the issue in order to “reinvigorate” the peace process.

The current hardline Israeli government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has refused to entertain the notion of peace talks with the Palestinian Authority, instead moving to radically expand Israel’s footprint in the West Bank. The PA supports a two-state solution, but its leadership is marred by charges of corruption and President Mahmoud Abbas was roundly criticized last week for a speech employing a range of antisemitic tropes. Both Netanyahu and Abbas will be at the UN next week.

The event is the latest effort by Saudi Arabia to engage in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as it negotiates with US President Joe Biden’s administration about a potential normalization agreement with Israel.

Last week, Riyadh hosted a Palestinian Authority delegation to discuss how to leverage a normalization deal to advance the Palestinian cause.

Saudi Arabia did host a ministerial meeting at the UN General Assembly sidelines last year on the issue, but that event was to mark the 20th anniversary of the proposal of the Arab Peace Initiative.

Saudi leaders assured the visiting delegation last week that Riyadh “will not abandon” the Palestinian cause, even as it discusses normalizing ties with Israel, a US and an Arab official told The Times of Israel on Wednesday.

The message was passed along in multiple meetings between the Palestinian Authority delegation and senior Saudi officials, including Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, the US and the Arab official said.

There will be follow-upconversations between US, Israeli, Palestinian and Saudi officials on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly next week, but Riyadh will likely need several months to study the issue further before raising specific demands in its talks with the Biden administration, according to the two officials.

“The appointment of an ambassador helps, but they really are new to this issue,” the US official said.

Last month, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Jordan began serving as Riyadh’s first-ever nonresident ambassador to the Palestinians as well as its first-ever nonresident consul general to Jerusalem.

The Arab official explained that Riyadh has made clear to Ramallah that it is prepared to depart from its long-held public stance against normalizing ties with Israel absent an actualized two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and that the PA has come to terms with this development and accordingly is asking for measures that fall short of immediate statehood.

A data leak from Finaport, an asset manager based in Zurich, shows the firm worked with clients that included politically exposed persons, two Russians accused of embezzling funds from a bank they owned, and a businessman accused of insurance fraud.

Key Findings

A data leak in 2022 from Finaport shows that this asset management company provided services to clients who were embroiled in legal scandals at the time.

A Finaport client withdrew more than $500 million from an account at a Russian bank that later collapsed.

Another client established bank accounts under an alternative identity and moved money into it despite concerns raised by banking compliance.

Finaport also worked with a businesswoman who was the romantic partner of the head of a Russian state-owned firm which has supported the war effort in Ukraine.

On the surface, the client roster of the boutique Swiss investment firm Finaport Holding might appear exceptionally clean.

Between 2017 and 2019, the company — which manages bank accounts, companies, and other assets for its wealthy clients — filed just two alerts of suspicious transactions to the Swiss regulator, according to an internal audit.

Yet over that same period, Finaport represented over a dozen clients who had high-level political connections, were accused of corruption, or were facing criminal charges.

These customers included a former Afghan minister fired amid corruption accusations, a Peruvian politician connected to the massive “Car Wash” bribery scandal, and the son of a former Uzbekistan intelligence chief. But many of those with the clearest red flags were Russian.

Finaport said the information in the leak was an “arbitrary, out-of-date and incomplete selection,” and that “drawing conclusions from it for Finaport’s business activities leads to false and/or misleading insinuations.”

The document is a draft Motion to Stay, to be filed at the U.S. Supreme Court. The draft motion asks the Supreme Court to stay (halt) last week’s ruling by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. There, the government had asked the Court of Appeals to reverse Judge Terry Doughty’s (United States District Court for the District of Louisiana) Preliminary Injunction (court order forcing government to stop), which ordered the Biden White House, the FBI, the DOJ, and scores of other government defendants to immediately cease censoring Americans’ speech on the internet.

Instead, the 5th Circuit tried to split the baby: it upheld Judge Doughty’s courageous injunction, but only as to the White House, the CDC, the FBI, and the Surgeon General while letting the rest of the government defendants off the hook.

After the 5th Circuit’s ruling, there was some question and speculation as to what the government’s next course of action would be – there were numerous strategic legal options for them to pursue, with a possible Supreme Court challenge perhaps being the most direct path.

This leaked DOJ Motion to Stay indicates that the DOJ is going to try and reverse the portion of the injunction left in place by the 5th Circuit. That is, the DOJ is going to try and stop the order (injunction) stopping the White House, CDC, FBI, and Surgeon General from censoring speech and overturning the 5th Circuit.

However, this also gives Gateway Pundit, Missouri, Louisiana, and the other plaintiffs in the case the opportunity to argue the whole 5th Circuit order – to ask the Supreme Court to issue an injunction against ALL OF THE GOVERNMENT DEFENDANTS TO IMMEDIATELY STOP COLLUDING WITH BIG TECH TO CENSOR SPEECH.

Additional plaintiffs, joining Hoft and the State of Missouri, include the State of Louisiana, epidemiologists Drs. Jayanta Bhattacharya and Martin Kulldorff, Dr. Aaron Kheriaty and Jill Hines.

This is a huge development. Generations of law students will read about this case. The Supreme Court will have an opportunity to hold the line on the First Amendment in a decision that could and should set the tone for First Amendment law for the next 50 years.

Janet Yellen Arrested for Treason

Investigators from the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) on Tuesday arrested Secretary of Treasury Janet Yellen at a Maryland hotel, alleging that the Deep State despot had engineered a diabolical scheme that clandestinely sent hundreds of billions of American tax dollars to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, far more than the $75bn the criminal Biden Regime has admitted to giving its felonious collaborator in Ukraine.

A source at CID’s Fort Liberty, NC, field office told Real Raw News that investigators apprehended Yellen and an unnamed associate outside the Merriweather Lakehouse Hotel in Baltimore at approximately 9:30 p.m. Yellen was shown a military arrest warrant charging her with treason and defrauding the United States of America before being shuttled to a processing center for interrogation.

He said Yellen seemed bewildered at the news and did not try to flee or resist. The associate, identified as Yellen’s chauffeur and bodyguard, was jailed as an accessory to Yellen’s crimes.

There is no public mention of these disbursements. Each transaction has the same common denominator—Yellen and Treasury. It has taken a long time to catch this one. There’s a few reasons this country has gone bankrupt, and she’s one of them.”

He said Yellen was among the horde of Deep Staters to flee the United States once the regime’s despots suspected their names appeared on sealed indictments, and learned that their avaricious allies were being charged with, convicted of, and executed for high treason.

Fearing arrest, Yellen left the U.S. for Eastern Europe in early November, and the timing somewhat coincided with Corless handing JAG the SD card. Our source said Yellen had made several brief trips back to the U.S. between then and May, but White Hats hadn’t received word until after the fact.

“September 5, we learned that Biden recalled her to the States. A classified US State Department email from 2016 shows a leading diplomat warning that Hunter Biden’s lucrative job with a Ukrainian energy company “undercut” American efforts to fight corruption in the Eastern European country.

The existence of the email was never acknowledged during several court battles over Freedom of Information Act requests that sought records related to business dealings involving the first son and his father, President Biden, said the Just the News website, which published the email in its report Tuesday.

The report came one day after the New York Times sued the State Department for allegedly withholding emails and memos involving Hunter Biden and his former business associates that were sent to or received by officials at the US Embassy in Romania.

In the Nov. 22, 2016, email, former State Department official George Kent, then the deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in Ukraine, recounted a discussion in which he detailed the “saga” surrounding the graft case against Mykola Zlochevsky, a former Ukrainian natural resources minister and founder of Burisma Holdings, which paid Hunter Biden $1 million a year to sit on its board.

Kent recalled saying “that the real issue to my mind was that someone in Washington needed to engage VP Biden quietly and say that his son Hunter’s presence on the Burisma board undercut the anti-corruption message the VP and we were advancing in Ukraine.”

“Ukrainians heard one message from us and then saw another set of behavior, with the family association with a known corrupt figure whose company was known for not playing by the rules in the oil/gas sector,” Kent added.

Kent’s email was classified “Confidential” by then-US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and both of them were key witnesses against former President Donald Trump during his first impeachment trial in 2019.

Earlier, Kent testified behind closed doors that he raised concerns about Hunter Biden’s job with Burisma in 2015, according to reports.

His email, which was sent to former State Department official Jorgan Andrews and other people whose names are blacked out, wasn’t produced to House lawmakers during the impeachment proceedings, Just the News said.

Former Harvard University law professor Alan Dershowitz, who was part of Trump’s defense team, told Just the News that withholding Kent’s email was a “very serious constitutional violation” of the rule requiring that exculpatory evidence be turned over to a defendant.

“And obviously, that has to apply to impeachment proceedings even more so,” Dershowitz said.

“Because in impeachment proceedings, the American public has the right to know all the evidence.”

US Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) also called it “frightening” to learn that Trump “wasn’t allowed to have information that he’s entitled to have to put on his defense.”

A State Department spokesperson said, “We do not comment on matters under litigation.”

Railcar carrying toxic chemicals explodes, prompts evacuation west of North Platte

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Emergency crews are on the scene of a railcar fire at Union Pacific’s Bailey Yard in North Platte.

According to Union Pacific Railroad, around noon Thursday, an explosion occurred inside a container, resulting in several railcars catching on fire. UP said there was no derailment and the car had been stationary in the yard for a couple hours.

UP said a container that caught fire contained a hazardous chemical called perchloric acid.

EVACUATION ORDER

The North Platte Fire Department is evacuating people near the explosion due to toxic smoke. Anyone located between Front Road and Homestead Road, and from just north of the railroad tracks to 1 mile north of Highway 30 should evacuate. See map below.

Lincoln County Emergency Management wants people south of the evacuation zone to be ready to move if winds shift.

“Currently, the Nebraska Department of Roads is placing barricades at west A St/Lakeview Blvd as well as west Front St./Lakeview Blvd, North Platte Police said. “That area is not in the evacuation zone, but the purpose is to keep people from entering the evacuation zone.”

Highway 30 remains closed between Hershey and North Platte. I-80 is not affected.

Buffalo Bill State Historical Park and State Recreation Area in North Platte are closed until further notice due to the toxic smoke in the area.

No Union Pacific personnel were injured.

The cause is under investigation.

Adam Magnus officiated the nuptials of models and celebrities while his wife planned weddings for Hollywood stars including Margot Robbie – until his arrest this year.

Wedding celebrant Adam Magnus tied the knot for celebrities and models in Byron Bay’s hinterland while his wife became one of the most sought-after wedding planners in the country. But, police allege, away from the “rock star parties” Adam was secretly grooming a child.

Magnus, 62, was arrested earlier this year by child exploitation police investigators and charged with multiple offences at Ballina police station.

The charges include grooming an 11-year-old girl by exposing her to indecent material to “make it easier to procure the child for unlawful sexual activity”. Magnus was 61 at the time of the alleged offending.

The court file, obtained by this masthead, also alleges Magnus travelled, or met with, a child groomed for sexual activity and transmitted child abuse material in the weeks leading up to his arrest.

Magnus is currently facing 10 charges. Court records indicate some may be withdrawn.

The prominent wedding celebrant from Lennox Head, just outside Byron Bay, has been in custody, with bail refused, since his arrest in March. His family home was searched at the time of his arrest.

Magnus did not appear in Lismore Local Court when his matter was briefly mentioned this week.

The court heard draft documents were still being prepared in the case and it was adjourned until October.

Court files show Magnus did not apply for release on bail.

Magnus’ wife Jane runs Byron Luxury Weddings, which hosts lavish ceremonies outside the tourist mecca on the NSW Far North Coast.

Jane Magnus’ profile hit a high note when she hosted the wedding of film star Margot Robbie and producer Tom Ackerley at Coorabella estate in December 2016.

She described them as a “divine couple”. The Daily Mail, reporting on the wedding in 2018, said Jane works with wedding budgets that begin at $50,000. Magnus was not the celebrant at that wedding.

Jane Magnus is not accused of any wrongdoing, is facing no criminal charges and there is no suggestion she was aware of her husband’s alleged crimes.

Adam Magnus, in an online post, describes himself as “a real all rounder guy”, father of four adults and husband to Jane.

“You may know her, she’s a bit of a legend in the wedding industry and together I like to think we are a great team,” he said in 2020, posing in head-to-toe white linen with a glass of wine.

The pair worked together on the 2014 wedding of supermodel Stephanie “Bambi” Northwood-Blythe and designer Dan Single.

Jane Magnus planned the high-profile event while Adam Magnus was the celebrant, taking the couple through the vows in front of the celebrity-packed crowd.

When Single and Northwood-Blythe split it was the Magnuses who broke the news in the entertainment pages.

The wedding and events business has remained active since Magnus’ arrest, this week boasting on social media about throwing “rock star parties”. Adam Magnus’ own accounts have mostly been taken down.

Adam Magnus’ lawyer did not reply to requests for comment by this masthead.

Mounting evidence suggests the Maui fires were caused by Directed Energy Weapons.

Steve Favis is an expert in computer science and advanced robotics. He has been researching the Maui fires and has compiled evidence that the technology exists to have started these fires from a satellite in earth orbit. He has also confirmed that the CCP had satellites capable of doing so above Maui at the time of the fires. His work has been published on his website stevefavis.com and includes everything you need to recreate his findings.

The most efficient way to ignite a fire on the surface from a satellite in earth orbit would be to paint the target in segments by pulsing the laser with an advanced targeting system. To see if this were possible, Favis calculated what it would require to create a meter-wide mile-long fire.

Fired from a satellite, the Earth’s atmosphere will absorb and scatter some of the laser energy. And so the laser would need to be in a wavelength range that minimizes this. The most effective wavelength would be in the near-infrared range which would allow better transmission through the atmosphere. The near-infrared range would be invisible to the naked eye, and would also have a minimal reaction with objects colored blue on the Earth’s surface.

The power of the laser would need to be in the hundreds of kilowatts range. And so Favis based his calculations on a 10-megawatt laser firing from earth orbit. Assuming that the atmospheric loss amounts to 50% of the overall power and only 5 megawatts reaches the surface as a one square meter beam, it would ignite a fire almost instantly.

The Gateway Pundit reported on Tuesday that Gaetz took issue with McCarthy’s failure to uphold the promises that secured him the Speaker’s chair.

Mayor Brandon Johnson announced Wednesday that the city of Chicago is facing a projected $538 million budget deficit for 2024 – a financial burden his administration blamed in part on the growing cost of caring for migrants. (Snip) One invoice from the now-closed shelter at Truman College shows a facility manager made $14,000 in one week last December. Another invoice shows a nurse earned $20,000 during a week in December. That same week – that shelter manager’s invoice billed for more than $14,000. All those employees’ figures included the employees being paid for overtime. The hourly rate for the registered nurse was $195 an hour. The facility manager earned $135 an hour.
