The state of Texas has seized all city property along the riverfront at the border in the Eagle Pass area under governors emergency powers, including federal processing locations and equipment—This is according to multiple sources.

All access to the property is limited to state authority only. Border Patrol will be permitted to enter the property to remove their equipment and supplies—Agents will not have access to the area unless there is a medical emergency.

Fulton County Prosecutors Coordinated With Jan. 6 Committee Before Indicting Trump

House Jan. 6 select committee staff met with Fulton County prosecutors and allowed them to review certain evidence relating to Georgia while they were conducting their probe into president Donald Trump, according to Politico.

A recent motion by a Trump co-defendant seeking to disqualify District Attorney Fani Willis and dismiss the case includes billing statements from special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who Willis appointed and was allegedly involved with romantically, that reference meetings with the committee. These meetings provided prosecutors important information as they prepared to interview witnesses central to the case, according to Politico.

Wade appears to have met four times with the committee, based on billing statements included in the motion submitted by co-defendant Michael Roman. Wade billed $6,000 for 24 hours between April 18 and 21, 2022, under the description, “Team meeting: Conf w/ Jan 6: Research legal issues to prep interv.”

For this meeting, top prosecutors on Willis’ team traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with committee staff, former committee officials reportedly told Politico.

Another billing for eight hours at $2,000 on May 31, 2022, states it was for “Team meeting: Conf w/ Jan 6; SPGJ witness prep.”

Former Jan. 6 committee chairman Democratic Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson told Politico he was not aware of how extensive the staff’s contacts with prosecutors were and did not know about the in-person meeting, though he previously voiced some level of awareness.

“As the January 6th Committee’s final report transparently stated, the Committee shared information — all of which is now public — with prosecutors conducting concurrent, independent investigations,” a former committee aide told Politico.

Former federal prosecutor Sol Wisenberg told Politico the level of cooperation was “highly unusual.”

“They’re using what’s supposed to be a congressional investigation in aid of a prosecution,” he said.

Willis has refused to disclose potential contacts with the committee — as well as the White House — when asked by House Republicans.

“You cannot — and will not — be provided access to any non-public information about this,” she told House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan in a letter dated Dec. 19 and obtained by Politico.

Reports from the border indicate Gov. Greg Abbott has taken over riverfront land and is denying federal officials access to the illegal crossing point near the international bridge in Eagle Pass.

Shelby Park has been a hotspot for illegal crossings, and now the State of Texas under the governor’s emergency powers has seized all city property along the riverfront.

According to NewsNation reporter Ali Bradley, “All access to the property is limited to state authority only. Border Patrol will be permitted to enter the property to remove their equipment and supplies—Agents will not have access to the area unless there is a medical emergency.”

All individuals who cross the border illegally into Shelby Park are expected to be cited for criminal trespass—which can include a punishment of 180 days in jail if found guilty.

The governor’s spokesperson told Bradley, “Texas is holding the line at our southern border with miles of additional razor wire and anti-climb barriers to deter and repel the record-high levels of illegal immigration invited by President Biden’s reckless open border policies.”

“Texas will continue to deploy Texas National Guard soldiers, DPS troopers, and more barriers, utilizing every tool and strategy to respond to President Biden’s ongoing border crisis,” according to the governor’s office.

Americans who trusted the science when Dr. Anthony Fauci told them to be six feet apart to prevent the spread of COVID-19 learned Wednesday there was no science behind the edict.

After two days of interviews behind closed doors to the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, a news release posted on the website of the House Oversight Committee revealed that “Fauci claimed that the ‘6 feet apart’ social distancing recommendation promoted by federal health officials was likely not based on any data. He characterized the development of the guidance by stating ‘it sort of just appeared.’”

GOP Rep. Brad Wenstrup of Ohio, the panel’s chairman, said Fauci admitted to legislators that “the policies and mandates he promoted may unfortunately increase vaccine hesitancy for years to come.”

“He testified that the lab leak hypothesis — which was often suppressed — was, in fact, not a conspiracy theory,” Wenstrup said. The lab leak theory claims that the coronavirus was released from the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, and not from natural sources, as Fauci initially claimed.

The release noted that the admission came “nearly four years after prompting the publication of the now infamous ‘Proximal Origin’ paper that attempted to vilify and disprove the lab leak hypothesis.” The release also said Fauci, who denied trying to pressure the CIA on the lab-leak theory, “played semantics with the definition of a ‘lab-leak.’”

“Dr. Fauci’s transcribed interview revealed systemic failures in our public health system and shed light on serious procedural concerns with our public health authority. It is clear that dissenting opinions were often not considered or suppressed completely,” Wenstrup said.

During Fauci’s second day of testimony, he said that he advised colleges to impose vaccine mandates on students.

A release summarizing the first day of Fauci’s testimony quoted Wenstrup as saying that Fauci “signed off on all domestic and foreign research grants without reviewing the proposals and admitted that he was unaware if NIAID conducted oversight of the laboratories they fund.” Fauci, who is now retired, was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The release said Fauci continued to deny, as he has in the past, that the National Institutes of Health funded “gain-of-function research in Wuhan,” where COVID-19 emerged, noting that Fauci “repeatedly played semantics with the definition of gain-of-function in an attempt to avoid conceding that NIH funded potentially dangerous research in China.”

Republican Rep. Michael Cloud of Texas, a member of the panel interviewing Fauci, said the former White House adviser has an “amazing ability to either forget what happened or then to find ways to shirk any sort of responsibility for the influence that was had,” according to the New York Post.

​​“They wash their hands of any sort of responsibility, saying, ‘Oh, those decisions were made by school districts.’ But the school districts know, if you don’t follow the guidance that’s coming out of the federal government, you open yourselves up to lawsuits,” Cloud said.

“He says he’s still not convinced that there was learning loss — that in his view, that’s still really open for discussion. I think [if] you ask any parent, they’ll tell you it was a major hit on their child’s development,” he said.

Wenstrup said Fauci “admitted that the mandate could increase vaccine hesitancy,” according to the Washington Examiner.

“I can’t get into his mind, but I think he felt it was the right thing to do because he thought it would save lives, but he basically was saying the lesson learned [was it] didn’t get into the psyche of America,” Wenstrup said.

“We have a problem in our country, and now people don’t want to get any vaccines,” Wenstrup said. “The mRNA vaccine is different. The messaging was never really good, and I don’t think America ever felt like they were being educated. They were getting indoctrinated,” he said.

Transcripts of the interviews will be released in the future, Wenstrup said.

State of Texas Seizes Property in Eagle Pass Under Governor Abbott’s Emergency Powers Amid Biden Border Crisis

The Texas Department of Public Safety notified Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas on Wednesday that Shelby Park was being taken over by an emergency order by Republican Governor Greg Abbott.

The park covers 47 acres and is right next to a portion of the Rio Grande River. This will give DPS officers control over the area to help stop illegals from crossing into the U.S. The take over is for an indefinite period of time with DPS having total control of the area.

In a video posted on Facebook, Salinas said he received a call from DPS officials on Wednesday to let him know that Gov. Greg Abbott had signed an emergency declaration and that officers would take “full control” of 47-acre Shelby Park indefinitely.

“That is not a decision that we agreed to. This is not something that we wanted. This is not something that we asked for as a city,” Salinas said in the video.

Salinas said he was told that the reason for the operation is to prevent immigrants from illegally crossing the Rio Grande into Texas.

"The numbers coming out are terrifying," the Israeli outlet wrote. Out of the 6,000 who have been wounded, more than 2,000 are permanently disabled, the report highlights.

"Nothing prepared the medical establishment for the onslaught of injuries resulting from the war over the last three months," the report says.

According to the Jerusalem Post, Israel’s Health Ministry warned the Knesset, only a month into the war, that Tel Aviv was not prepared to handle the massive number of injuries.

The Defense Ministry has said it works at "full capacity" to assist many wounded. Israel’s health sector is facing "chronic shortages," which continue to worsen, according to the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies.

"I have never seen a scope like this and an intensity like this," Edan Kleiman, head of the Israeli NGO Disabled Veterans Organization, said recently. Kleiman added that the number will jump to 20,000 once those with PTSD are included in the toll.

Three months since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the Israeli army continues to face fierce resistance from Hamas’ Qassam Brigades and other groups in Gaza, falling into daily ambushes.

The Qassam Brigades said on Monday that they killed multiple Israeli soldiers in central Gaza’s Bureij Camp that day, indicating that they were killed while attempting to free a captive held by Hamas. The army claimed the deaths resulted from an accidental explosion aimed at destroying an underground Hamas facility.

Tel Aviv claims that the number of dead soldiers since the ground war was expanded on 27 October stands at 186. However, the number is expected to be much higher – as Israel is known to hide its losses through strict censorship laws imposed on what is reported in the media.

Hebrew media reported last month that the official number of wounded soldiers provided by Tel Aviv is only half of the actual toll, according to hospital records.

RALEIGH — In recent months, videos and images of migrants boarding U.S. commercial airline flights have flooded social media.

This month, North State Journal reported on an American Airlines flight out of Arizona carrying non-U.S. citizens to Charlotte’s Douglas International Airport. Within hours of the article being posted online, a General Assembly staffer who wished to remain anonymous relayed a similar encounter at an Arizona airport while returning from a conference on Dec. 1, 2023.

Per the staffer, the individuals all appeared to have brand-new backpacks and were carrying plastic bags with what looked like “snacks.” The staffer said most of them were holding some kind of paperwork and many of them had seemingly new-looking smartphones.

The staffer also told North State Journal they spoked with a TSA official about an area that was “roped off” with a number of individuals that appeared to be of Hispanic descent. The TSA official confirmed to the staffer the individuals were all migrants who had crossed the border and were going to be sent through a special screening line. 

The General Assembly staffer’s account lines up with images of signs for special migrant-only screening lines cropping up on social media platforms and as reported by Breitbart Texas.

What group or groups are funding flight activities is still unclear, but assistance is likely coming from one of hundreds of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and nonprofits working with migrant travel and resettlement. 

Commercial airlines have indicated the tickets for the flights are arranged and paid for by an NGO or a nonprofit that is working with migrants. A commercial airline company gave similar information to North State Journal.

Most of these organizations are receiving millions, and sometimes billions, in related taxpayer-funded grants through various programs under federal agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The grants can pay for a wide variety of things for a migrant, including clothes, cell phones, food, shelter, and transportation as well as legal services that specifically serve migrants.

According to the immigration watchdog group Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), DHS was estimated to be providing “$363.8 million of taxpayer dollars” through programs giving grants in Fiscal Year 2023 to NGOs and nonprofits to handle migrant arrivals. FAIR also noted that “it’s unclear how the money is actually spent by the NGOs and local governments.”

Some of the largest entities involved in migrant travel and facilitations are the American Red Cross, Church World Services, and Catholic Charities USA.

The American Red Cross works with various federally funded migrant programs, including the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Food and Shelter Program. That program received $350 million from DHS in February 2023.

In its 2022 financial statements, Church World Services reported over 76% of its revenue, more than $114.6 million, was from “government support.” For that same year, Catholic Charities USA posted $4.7 billion in total revenue, including $1.4 billion in government grants and $1 billion in private donations.

In North Carolina, there are dozens of nonprofits working with migrants. Church World Services operates chapters in multiple cities such as Charlotte, Durham, Greensboro and Wilmington. 

Church World Services chapters in North Carolina run an “NC-Immigrant Solidarity Fund,” described as a “statewide, grassroots effort to support undocumented and mixed status families facing financial hardship due to a recent ICE detention & deportation, emergency, or natural disaster.”

US, UK begin bombing Yemen – Houthis

There were reports of explosions in Sanaa and Hodeidah on Friday

The US and the UK have launched an attack on Yemen, striking the cities of Sanaa and Hodeidah, Houthi spokesman Abdulsalam Jahaf said early on Friday.

Washington and London have not made any official announcements as of yet. However, multiple British and American outlets reported that an attack was “imminent” on Thursday evening, citing anonymous sources inside the White House and 10 Downing Street.

“Now America, Britain, and Israel are launching raids on Hodeidah, Sanaa, Dhamar, and Saada,” Jahaf said on X (formerly Twitter). “We will discipline them, God willing.”

There were at least three explosions in Sanaa, Reuters reported citing local witnesses.

Officially known as Ansar Allah (‘Supporters of God’), the Houthis declared solidarity with Gaza in late October, reacting to Israel’s offensive against the Palestinian enclave. They have since carried out over 20 attacks on various shipping vessels in the Red Sea, a major trade route connecting Europe and Asia via the Suez Canal. Major shipping companies have responded by rerouting their ships around Africa, driving up prices and insurance costs.

On Tuesday, the US Central Command announced that its ships and airplanes shot down more than 20 missiles and drones launched at vessels in the Red Sea.

“We cannot have a situation where a major sea route, a major ability to move goods around the world is being cut off by terrorists and thugs and we therefore must act,” British Defense Secretary Grant Schapps said after the incident.

Jahaf responded to threats from Washington and London by declaring on X that the Houthis will “respond to any American aggression,” and make the US “kneel and burn its battleships and all its bases and everyone who co-operates with it, no matter what the cost.”

“The world must prepare to hear America's defeat, and I say it with all pride: We will tread on America with our feet, and whoever does not know us, the battlefields will know about our strength and strength,” Jahaf had said.

Between 2015 and 2023, the Houthis had fought to a standstill a regional coalition led by Saudi Arabia that sought to restore the previous Yemeni government to power. The US had backed the Saudis with intelligence and military supplies.
