Coast Guard Seizes Over 2,000 LBS Of Cocaine Worth $32M In Miami

12:55 PM – Wednesday, January 10, 2024

 

The United States Coast Guard has announced that they have discovered and seized over one ton of cocaine approximately worth $32 million in Miami, Florida.

 

On Tuesday, the crew of USCGC Margaret Norvell found more than 2,450 pounds of cocaine in Miami.

 

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) released a statement following the discovery and said that the drugs were confiscated in the international waters of the Caribbean Sea in two separate seizures.

 

They continued stating that they have arrested six smugglers who now face prosecution in federal courts by the Department of Justice.

 

Commanding Officer Lt. Cmdr. Colin Weaver publicly thanked the crew involved for their efforts in the case.

 

“Thanks to the tremendous efforts of the Coast Guard crews and agency partners involved with this interdiction, Coast Guard Cutter Margaret Norvell brought these suspected smugglers and illicit contraband ashore for prosecution,” Weaver said. “Coast Guard crews continue to deliver on our important missions of homeland and maritime security to save lives and thwart transnational criminal organizations operating in the Caribbean.”

 

The USCG also announced that these cases are being investigated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), explaining that the group “identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten” the country.

 

They continued by saying that multiple crew from the USCG Cutter Richard Dixon, the USCG Cutter Dauntless and the Joint Interagency Task Force South were involved in the seizure stating that “detecting and interdicting illegal drug traffickers on the high seas involves significant interagency and international coordination.”

 

“Once interdiction becomes imminent, the law enforcement phase of the operation begins, and control of the operation shifts to the U.S. Coast Guard throughout the interdiction and apprehension,” said the USCG.

  • The reason for the committee to demand a deposition behind closed doors rather than allow HB to get away with only open hearing is a) precedent is total. No one is allowed to do that ever, the whole reason to subpoena is the private deposition, with both sides attorneys. They try to project Schiff leaks on committee's investigation. b) HB wants public instead so his side can lie for 5 minutes at a time about it, as Burlison pointed out. And he can use all manner of tricks, including answering slowly, etc. He can employ Mueller/Clapper tactics, IOW. Public is more show.

 

  • The difference between HB being held in contempt, and what Jordan, Biggs, Bannon, et al did when they refused to show for the J6 committee is a) there is a clearly held standard / precedent for immunity for conversations with the president. Congress is not entitled to information from these conversations and b) J6 committee was illegitimate and subpoenas were therefore invalid (they'd argue ) (and previous J6 committee member statement even supports) this. Further, J6 committee ultimately chose not to try and enforce (IIUC)… R's would say that's because they had no authority, it was all illegitimate

“Judge” Engoron Bars President Trump from Giving His OWN CLOSING ARGUMENT in Rigged New York Civil Trial – Also Coldly Denies Defense When They Request Delay Due to Melania Trump’s Mother’s Death

 

Radical left “Judge” Arthur Engoron arbitrarily decided Wednesday to deny President Trump the opportunity to give a closing argument during his civil fraud trial in New York City.

 

This is the latest example of how he has rigged this entire trial against the 45th President. He even refused a minutia of compassion following the death of Trump’s mother-in-law, who died Tuesday.

 

As Cristina Laila has reported, tyrannical New York Attorney General Letitia “Peekaboo” James is seeking $250 million in “damages” when there is no victim in this fraud case. She also wants to ban Trump and his sons from operating any businesses in New York.

 

NBC News noted Trump had previously planned to deliver part of the closing statement himself in the trial, which is his constitutional right. But Engoron responded by listing a series of vague restrictions that made it impossible for Trump’s lawyers to agree to.

 

CBS News reported Engoron stated that Trump would have had to limit his statement in court to “what is permissible in a counsel’s closing argument, that is, commentary on the relevant, material facts that are in evidence, and application of the relevant law to those facts.” Of course, Engoron has taken every possible action to prevent the truth from emerging.

 

Laila previously revealed Engoron gagged President Trump’s lawyers, fined Trump twice for violating bogus “gag” orders, and denied his bid for a mistrial in New York. Engoron even yelled at Trump’s attorneys while they defended him and threatened to jail Trump for leaving up post on his Truth Social page.

 

Engoron’s despicable bias has been so evident that moderate Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) filed a judicial ethics complaint against him. A New York Appellate Judge also paused his order to dissolve the Trump organization back in October.

 

Given these facts, the “judge” knew Trump’s attorneys would never agree and proceeded to censor Trump one more time using Orwellian language.

 

Trump attorney Chris Kise wrote in an email to Engoron saying that Trump has “been wrongfully demeaned and belittled by an out of control, politically motivated Attorney General” and he should be allowed to “speak about the things that must be spoken about.”

 

Kise then requested to postpone closing arguments of the 45th President’s mother-in-law, Amalija Knavs, whom he was close to.

 

As Fox News reported, Engoron responded to this reasonable request with an insincere “sorry to hear the sad news” and denied it.

 

He then proceeded to censor Trump one more time using Orwellian language.

 

Not having heard from you by the third extended deadline (noon today), I assume that Mr. Trump will not agree to the reasonable, lawful limits I have imposed as a precondition to giving a closing statement above and beyond those given by his attorneys, and that, therefore, he will not be speaking in court tomorrow, Engoron wrote.

Online safety regulator lashes X, formerly Twitter, over failure to police hate

 

Commissioner Julie Inman Grant said the platform had created a "perfect storm for safety to be diminished" in Australia by reinstating thousands of banned accounts, cutting its online safety staff, and taking too long to respond to reports of hate.

No, the killing of journalists is not about obscure things happening over there in a distant land. No, something entirely different is being rolled out before your very eyes, rolled out so slowly and methodically that you must be very focused in order notice it.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is planning to announce he’s dropping his Republican presidential bid at his New Hampshire town hall on Wednesday night.

 

That’s according to a person with direct knowledge of the former New Jersey governor’s plans who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to disclose private discussions.

 

Christie has been under intense pressure to exit the Republican presidential primary race as critics of Donald Trump work to unify behind a viable alternative to the former president.

 

Christie is scheduled to host a town hall meeting in Windham at 5 p.m., hours before two of his rivals, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, meet for the fifth GOP presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle. It is the only debate that Christie did not qualify for.

‘Jellyfish’ UAP video reveals strange object in Iraq

UFO journalist Jeremy Corbell has released footage of what he is calling a “jellyfish” UAP spotted in Iraq in 2018.

 

NewsNation has not independently verified this footage.

 

The video was apparently taken at a U.S. joint operations base in Iraq, and according to Corbell, the object is officially designated a UAP — unknown aerial phenomenon — by the Pentagon. The footage was taken with thermographic/forward-looking infrared radar.

 

The object, which does resemble a jellyfish, moved through a sensitive military installation before moving over water, where it began what Corbell describes as a controlled descent before submerging.

 

After 17 minutes, the UAP reemerged from the water and disappeared at a high rate of speed.

 

According to those familiar with the full footage or who witnessed the event, the UAP was not observable with night vision, appeared to jam the targeting capability of the optical platform and displayed positive lift without the usual means for lift and thrust, with no signatures for propulsion maneuvers present.

 

NewsNation has contacted the Pentagon for comment but has not heard back.

This is a valid point. But how do we safeguard against other renegades? The only solution that I truly see is an election/recall system that works by the hour. This is the only way to remove the cruft without waiting till the end of a term after the damage is done. Knowing one can be fired within an hour is a legitimate consequence but this should not disqualify someone who has been fired from regaining office it that is the will of the people. Does this sound tenable? Would this be the ultimate form of fairness? Would this truly reflect the will of the people? What do you think?

A person was killed and another was injured when an avalanche roared through a section of expert trails at Palisades Tahoe ski resort in California on Wednesday, authorities said.

 

The avalanche prompted Palisades Tahoe to close 30 minutes after it opened and search crews combed the area to see if anyone was injured or trapped.

 

Sgt. David Smith, a spokesperson for the Placer County sheriff, said hours later that a male victim died and other male sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He said nobody else was missing.

 

Authorities say the search has concluded.

 

The avalanche occurred around 9:30 a.m. on steep slopes under the KT-22 lift, which serves "black diamond" runs for skilled skiers and snowboarders.

 

It happened as major storm with snow and gusty winds moved into the region.

 

Winds gusted in excess of 100 mph over ridgetops around Lake Tahoe late Tuesday ahead of a powerful storm expected to bring as much as 2 feet of snow to the highest elevations by early Thursday.

 

Palisades Tahoe changed its name from Squaw Valley in 2021, a year after the famed resort announced it would jettison its old name.

 

Palisades is a sister resort of Alpine, formerly known as Alpine Meadows, which had one of the worst avalanches in California history in 1982, where seven people were killed.
