The Gateway Pundit previously reported the incident, which occurred last Saturday night, involving a mob of illegal immigrants who brutally assaulted two New York City police officers.

The attack, captured on video near a migrant center in Times Square, shows the officers initially directing the group to disperse. Moments later, the officers reappear in the frame, physically struggling with one of the migrants.

EU approves €50 billion in Ukraine aid

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has lifted his veto amid a pressure campaign from Brussels

EU leaders have signed off on a €50 billion ($54 billion) package of economic aid to Ukraine, overcoming resistance from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The Hungarian leader accused Brussels of “blackmailing” him into accepting the deal.

European Council President Charles Michel announced the news on Thursday morning, minutes after the bloc’s leaders sat down for talks in Brussels.

“All 27 leaders agreed on an additional €50 billion support package for Ukraine within the EU budget,” Michel wrote on X. “This locks in steadfast, long-term, predictable funding for Ukraine.”

The sum will be drawn from the EU’s collective budget and doled out over four years to Kiev, where it will be used to pay public sector salaries, keep government departments open, and prop up the beleaguered welfare system. The EU budget, already agreed three years ago, will have to be modified to include the mammoth aid package.

Any such modifications require the unanimous approval of all 27 bloc member states. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned for months that he would veto the proposal, arguing that the EU has no idea how the money will be spent and no idea what will happen in Ukraine in the coming months. Orban has also argued that Ukraine cannot defeat Russia on the battlefield, and that Western leaders should be pushing Kiev toward a ceasefire and peace talks.

Orban has described Ukraine as “one of the most corrupt countries in the world.” Transparency International ranks Ukraine 104th out of 180 in its Corruption Perceptions Index report, and over the weekend, the country’s Security Service (SBU) announced that it had uncovered a major scheme by high-ranking defense officials to embezzle money intended to purchase ammunition.

Earlier this week, the Financial Times revealed that the European Council had drawn up a plan to cut funding to Budapest and tank the Hungarian economy if Orban maintained his veto. Orban accused the “imperialist” EU of trying to “blackmail” him, and said that he proposed a compromise deal whereby Ukraine would receive a smaller transfer of aid every year, which any member state could veto.

Brussels rejected Orban’s proposal, he told France’s Le Point news magazine on Monday. “They say that if we behave like a sovereign country, Hungary will immediately face a vast financial blockade,” he said. “Knowing Brussels, they are capable of it.”

Under the terms of the deal agreed on Thursday, EU leaders will debate the implementation of the package annually, while the budget will be reviewed in two years. Speaking anonymously, multiple European diplomats told Politico that these measures were included to placate the Hungarian PM.

However, other anonymous officials said that Orban was given no concessions, and was pressured to accept that “there was no alternative than giving in on the money to Ukraine.”

US To Launch Multi-Day Strikes Against 'Iranian Targets' Across Syria, Iraq

The Biden administration is planning to launch a days-long or even potentially weeks-long bombing campaign on Iranian assets across the Middle East, although there doesn't appear to be plans to hit Iran directly, according to US officials speaking to NBC and CBS.

The attacks which will reportedly focus on 'Iranian targets' inside Syrian and Iraq are meant as retaliation and a supposed deterrent in response to the weekend drone attack which killed three American soldiers at a Jordanian base near the Syrian border. The attacks might extend to the Iranian navy as well, in addition to targeting Iranian personnel or 'Iran-backed militias' in Syria and Iraq.

While the Pentagon has said that said the Jordan base attack had the "footprints" of Kataib Hezbollah (or the Shia 'resistance' group of Iraq), no culprit has been definitively named, and US officials have also admitted they have not evidence Iran was behind it. But they are now reportedly saying the drone used in the attack was manufactured in Iran.

The New York Times additionally has conceded that despite it being well-known that Tehran arms and funds the main Shia militias in Iraq, there remains no evidence that Tehran is "calling the shots" when it comes to events like attacks on US personnel out of Syria or Iraq.

The chorus of US officials now telegraphing the extent of the strikes to the media strongly suggests at least a days-long campaign of several waves of attacks. "The first thing you see won’t be the last thing," national security council spokesman John Kirby has said. He added that the operation won't be a "one-off" as such bombings have tended to go in the past.

However, the longer the bombing lasts, the greater the possibility for things spiraling out of control, possibly growing into a hot war with Iran and its assets. "The Islamic Republic would decisively respond to any attack on the county, its interests and nationals under any pretexts," Iran’s ambassador to the UN Amir Saeid Iravani has responded.

According to more details via fresh CBS reporting Thursday:

The strikes will come in response to drone and rocket attacks targeting U.S. forces in the region, including the drone attack on Sunday that killed three U.S. service members at the Tower 22 base inside Jordan, near the Syrian border.

Weather will be a major factor in the timing of the strikes, the officials told CBS News, as the U.S. has the capability to carry out strikes in bad weather but prefers to have better visibility of selected targets as a safeguard against inadvertently hitting civilians who might stray into the area at the last moment.

Protesters blocked trucks carrying humanitarian supplies to Palestinians in Gaza on Thursday, demanding that no aid be allowed to enter the Strip via Israel while 132 hostages taken captive by terrorists on October 7 remain in captivity.

The protest came days after the IDF designated the areas of both the Kerem Shalom and the Nitzana border crossings as closed military zones to prevent disruptions. Large groups of activists, including some families of hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza, protested daily at the crossing last week.

Photos and videos circulating on social media on Thursday morning showed protesters arguing with truck drivers and attempting to check their loads to see which were headed for Gaza.

Likud activist Orly Lev posted a photo from the protest on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption, “Now at the Ashdod Port, blocking aid to Nazis.”

Ultranationalist MK and radical settlement activist Tzvi Succot also attended the protest, according to Channel 12 news.

Some 3,000 Hamas-led terrorists burst across the border into Israel from Gaza by land, air and sea on October 7, killing some 1,200 people and seizing 253 hostages, mostly civilians, many amid horrific acts of brutality.

CHARLESTON, WV: "The United States Fish and Wildlife Service has informed the state of West Virginia that it needs to stop stocking trout in waterways with populations of certain endangered and threatened species.

“It just makes me blooming sick,” Justice said in a briefing on Wednesday…“Bottom line, we don’t want to be doing any damage whatsoever. But just to come in out out of the clear blue nowhere and say your trout stocking program is over if you don’t sign up to do all of this stuff and everything, your trout stocking program statewide is over. You know, it’s terrible.”

The Fish and Wildlife Service identified populations of candy darters, Guyandotte River crayfish, and big sandy crayfish in those waterways. All three are either listed as endangered or threatened. The Fish and Wildlife Service says that stocked trout could prey on those species at dangerously high levels and has mandated the state to stop stocking in those rivers. If the state ignores that mandate, it could lose federal funding for the entire stocking program.

Justice says that the West Virginia DNR disagrees with the Fish and Wildlife Service’s assessment, saying that stocked trout do not affect native species in a significant way. According to Justice, the Fish and Wildlife Service’s decision is part of a statewide trend of federal agencies tightening down on the state for what he believes are political reasons. The service is also delaying progress on a portion of Corridor H in Tucker County after a Rusty Patched Bumblebee was found nearby. Meanwhile, the USDA forced the State Wildlife Center to close due to an issue over a secondary containment fence. The center cannot exhibit animals until the issue is resolved and the center gets its new license.

Justice says it’s because of political differences between the state and federal government.

“I’m calling on President Biden to stop this all out war on West Virginia by his federal agencies,” Justice said in a press release after the briefing. “It’s so blatantly targeted at our state and our people because we happen to disagree on political issues. It’s just plain wrong."

Soldiers say method utilized to destroy structures used by terrorists amid shortage of demolition charges, but some claim activity has become gratuitous

IDF soldiers battling against the Hamas terror group in the Gaza Strip have torched hundreds of buildings, making them unfit for use, according to Hebrew media reports citing testimony from troops on the ground.

The Ynet news site reported Thursday that the method was employed to destroy structures used by terrorists due to a shortage of demolition charges. A Haaretz report from the previous day cited soldiers saying it was sometimes done by forces out of revenge.

The IDF said it only approves authorized methods of destroying buildings and that any other activity will be looked into.

According to Ynet, soldiers have burned down buildings that were the homes of terror operatives or where they found weapons as a way to conserve an insufficient supply of demolition explosives. The outlet said the military censor had several times over the past two months prevented it from reporting on that shortage, which became apparent once the IDF realized the scale of terror infrastructure across Gaza and the number of buildings that were being used by gunmen to fight or conceal weapons.

The report said the improvised practice of setting fire to some buildings began in a unit battling in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza. When top commanders of that unit found out, Ynet said, they ordered troops to stop, telling them, “We are not like the terrorists who burned our homes on October 7.”

However, the practice spread to other areas and units, where there has been a mixed response. Some brigade commanders have banned the practice, while other officers see it as acceptable, with one saying: “We do this, at the end of the day, so that the clouds of smoke can be seen far across Gaza and deter the Gaza population.”

He added: “These are houses that were 100% confirmed [as being used for military activity]. Every such house, we first document the weaponry within or the gunmen we’ve killed.”

He noted the high number of such locations that forces have encountered.

As a reminder, billionaire Barry Sternlicht warned yesterday that he sees more than $1 trillion of losses for office real estate, calling the properties “one asset class that never recovered” from the pandemic. “The office market has an existential crisis right now,” which is largely a US phenomenon because workers haven’t gone back to their desks, Sternlicht said Tuesday at the iConnections Global Alts conference in Miami Beach.

Once a $3 trillion asset class, offices now are “probably worth $1.8 trillion,” said Sternlicht, chief executive officer of Starwood Capital Group.

A PBS documentary released this week shows that the January 6 Committee used James Goldston, the former president of ABC News, to create a “miniseries” whose primary purpose was to create primetime propaganda that would reach the American public.

The committee was derided by critics as a “show trial” because then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) rejected the nominees of the minority party, for the first time in American history, and appointed anti-Trump Republicans in their place.

Every single member of the committee opposed Donald Trump, and testimony was initially held behind closed doors, meaning witnesses were denied due process, since the other side of the argument was never represented, nor contrary evidence brought.

As Breitbart News reported at the time, the committee brought in Goldston as a consultant, despite his controversial history as the network’s leader at a time when ABC was said to have buried the story of the late billionaire sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein.

Goldston’s work for the committee was immediately apparent in the first publicly televised hearings, as committee members read their remarks from a TelePrompter.

The documentary presents Goldston’s involvement as part of an effort to organize the “trove” of material the committee collected. Ironically, the committee destroyed much of that evidence — making it impossible to verify, and compromising Trump’s rights.

The work of the January 6 Committee has been used in federal and state prosecutions, despite its one-sided nature, and despite legitimate legal concerns about the validity of its subpoenas, which, some argue, violated the terms of its enabling resolution.

The Oregon Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that 10 Republican state senators are ineligible to run for reelection after they participated in a quorum-denying walkout for six weeks last year to stall legislation on abortion, transgender treatments and firearms.

The high court decided in favor of Oregon Secretary of State LaVonne Griffin-Valade, who had disqualified the senators from running for office again after voters approved a measure in 2022 to amend the state constitution to ban lawmakers with more than 10 unexcused absences from running again.

The measure to prevent walkouts passed after GOP lawmakers staged other walkouts from the Legislature in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Five of the 10 Republican state senators, Tim Knopp, Daniel Bonham, Suzanne Weber, Dennis Linthicum and Lynn Findle, had filed a lawsuit against the secretary of state over the decision.

The walkout, which was the longest in Oregon's history, resulted in hundreds of bills being stalled, according to The Associated Press.

FORMER NATO COMMANDER CALLS TO BOMB CRIMEA

Recently, Western support for Ukraine has been declining, leaving the regime’s officials concerned about the future of Kiev’s fighting capabilities. However, despite this tendency, there are still public figures in the West calling for a new escalation and the sending of more heavy weapons to Ukraine.

In a recent statement, American retired General Philip Breedlove, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, stated that the West should send heavy weapons to Kiev to enable intense attacks on the Crimea region. According to Breedlove, only by attacking Russian positions in the Black Sea will Ukraine be able to make Moscow “rethink its posture”.

Breedlove classified Crimea as the “center of gravity” and “the decisive terrain of the war.” For him, the key to “defeat” Russia is to hit Crimea as much as possible. He believes that the more attacks in the region, the more Russia will be affected and forced to retreat throughout the entire conflict zone. So, faced with the imminent depletion of Ukraine’s military capabilities, the general advises that NATO return to sending weapons at a massive level, mainly long-range missiles that allow deep attacks on Crimea.

“If we enable Ukraine to be able to strike Crimea — pervasively, persistently and precisely —Russia will be forced to rethink its posture there. Strike them all, strike them repeatedly, and destroy them in detail,” he said.

Breedlove’s opinion has long been shared by other officers. Neutralizing Russian positions in Crimea has been a Ukrainian ambition since 2022, with several unsuccessful attacks having taken place in the region. One of the main objectives is to destroy the Kerch Bridge, which is considered the logistical key of Crimea. Not by chance, Kiev launched terrorist attacks on the Bridge, killing civilians but failing to cause major damage to the infrastructure.

Not only that, but General Breedlove himself has already become well known for his radical stance regarding Crimea. In October last year, he published an article in Western media outlet stating that bombing Crimea was necessary in order to achieve the “Ukrainian victory”. He openly called for the destruction of the Kerch Bridge, labeling it a “legitimate target”. At the time, he also criticized all analysts’ arguments about the need to take precautions with these attacks to avoid an escalation in the conflict. Breedlove appears not to care about the possibility of an increase in the violence of hostilities, stating that it is necessary to inflict damage on Crimea regardless of the side effects.

“Several people I have spoken to say ‘dropping’ [destroying] Kerch bridge would be a huge blow to Russia. Kerch bridge is a legitimate target (…) I am a trained civil engineer and I know about bridge construction. All bridges have their weak points and if targeted in the right spot it could render Kerch bridge unserviceable for a period of time. But if they wanted to drop the bridge, that would require a more dedicated bombing operation (…) I hear a lot of people asking whether it is right for Ukraine to take such aggressive action and whether the West would support it, but I cannot understand that argument”, he said at the time.

It is also necessary to clarify that the strategic calculation behind this type of opinion is absolutely wrong. It is believed that by increasing pressure on Crimea, the Ukrainians will force the Russians to concentrate efforts in the region, neglecting the defense lines on the battlefield and facilitating Kiev’s territorial advance. With this, it would allegedly be possible for Ukrainian troops to reach the Black Sea by advancing on the ground, reversing the current military scenario.

Like all durable conspiracy theories, there are grains of truth in the slop of lies about the Rothschilds. The legendary bankers once really did have the ear of royalty, the ability to lend vast sums on a whim, and control over mining, manufacturing, textiles, transportation, and agriculture. Coming from the Frankfurt Jewish ghetto, the Rothschilds redefined what it was to be wealthy and powerful. If Rothschilds decided to broker peace between nations, defuse blood libel panics against other Jewish communities, or make a vast purchase of land or resources, it often happened. They were, as pamphlets of the time put it, the ‘Kings of Jews and the Jews of Kings’.

But it wouldn’t last for ever; times changed and the balance of power in the banking industry shifted. The Rothschilds might have funded the war against Napoleon, but a century later it was JP Morgan that organised the $500 million loan to the Allies in the early days of the First World War. By then, the image of the family as prophets and powerbrokers had curdled. The conspiracy theories were starting to emerge and the family’s power and wealth decreased. America, in particular, had little Rothschild presence but an outsized appetite for myths about them.

The Rothschilds are still wealthy today, of course, but have been actively ‘downsizing’ since at least the 1970s, when the family gave away many of their most well-known properties, including the Château de Ferrières near Paris. More recently, the Austrian branch of heirs sold off vast tracts of the massive forest parcel their ancestors had bought in 1875. And last October the French section of the clan auctioned off some of the family’s art collection, with sales at Christie’s New York totalling $62.6 million.

Wouldn’t the myths be more convincing if the family’s wealth and power hadn’t declined as obviously as it has? Well, the Rothschilds have at least begun to be replaced or substituted by another target in recent years: George Soros. But they still get plenty of the wrong kind of attention, which has been reinforced every so often by nonsensical antisemitic tropes about Jews controlling the world, such as the 1920s-era translation of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

A more recent phenomenon has been the grifters who have taken on fake personas as Rothschild heirs. And the theories can be found powering the West’s current lurch into antisemitism – the Rothschilds and Soros have been accused of nefariously funding everything from Covid-19 to the Black Lives Matter movement.

One of the saddest things I learned writing Jewish Space Lasers is that all this mythmaking and scapegoating obscures a real legacy – one of philanthropy toward Jewish causes, outsized success in global banking and finance at a time when most doors remained closed to Jews, serving as a beacon of aspiration for Jews around the world, and a fingerprint on almost all the major events of Europe in the 19th century. It’s not my family history. But it’s a family history to be proud of, nonetheless.

What’s behind conspiracy theorists’ enduring fixation on the Rothschild family?

If the two things that you know about me are that: 1) I have written a book about Rothschild banking family conspiracy theories and 2) my own last name is Rothschild, you might imagine the topic has been a lifelong obsession. It’s not the case, however. When I was growing up, I knew I wasn’t related to ‘The Rothschild Family’. And nobody else assumed I was either. It was only once I got into journalism and started debunking conspiracy theories – some of which revolved around those Rothschilds – that the link started to be drawn, mostly by a certain kind of person on the internet: ‘A Rothschild debunking conspiracy theories? How stupid do they think we are?’

So I decided to dig a little deeper, and to explore why antisemitic conspiracy theories continue to drive their own special genre of myth and prejudice. My recent book, Jewish Space Lasers: the Rothschilds and 200 Years of Conspiracy Theories, is the result.

As I say, I already had some experience in the field. My previous book, The Storm Is upon Us, was about the QAnon conspiracy theory, which essentially held that ‘a group of Satan-worshiping elites who run a child sex ring are trying to control our politics and media’. Such theories depend on ideas about shadowy organisations and secret societies running things behind the scenes. These groups have had many names throughout history – from the Illuminati to the New World Order to today’s ‘deep state’ – but they all have a few things in common. Many are at least based on real organisations, such as the Bavarian Illuminati of 1776. They are said to have unimaginable power and hoard endless wealth. But, above all, the key concept is this: someone must be controlling the controllers. And that someone, as often as not, is a Jewish banking cabal – specifically the Rothschilds.

26 state attorneys general are pressing for President Joe Biden to completely end funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestinian Refugees organization after it was revealed to have links to Hamas.

In a memo obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, the AGs wrote, "October 7, Hamas perpetrated a mass terror attack against our ally Israel—an attack that included kidnapping and murdering many Americans."

Although the Biden administration has suspended funds for the UNRWA, the letter demanded they be stopped altogether in the future. "UNRWA is a multi-decade failed experiment and there is no justification to continue sending good money after bad. The United States must end financial contributions to UNRWA, both in the future and currently scheduled to be paid."

The UNRWA is the most prominent humanitarian organization that works in the Gaza strip; however, it was revealed that around 10 percent or around 1,200 of its employees in Gaza have links to Hamas.

Both potential replacements for Valery Zaluzhny have declined to take his place, the German paper has claimed

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has been unable to fire the nation’s top general, Valery Zaluzhny, because both replacements under consideration refused the job, the tabloid Bild reported on Thursday.

A host of Western and Ukrainian media previously claimed, citing anonymous sources in Kiev, that Zelensky had sacked Zaluzhny, prompting the Ukrainian government to refute those rumors.

According to Bild, the president did attempt to fire the general on Monday and had to reverse his decision “within an hour” because he could not find a replacement for the nation’s top commander. The move drew strong opposition from the Ukrainian generals, the tabloid claimed.

Zelensky allegedly wanted to see Ground Forces Commander Aleksandr Syrsky in Zaluzhny’s place because “he is more loyal to the president,” Bild said, citing Gustav Gressel, a Ukraine expert with the Berlin-based European Council on Foreign Relations think tank. The generals disapproved of the choice because they see Zaluzhny as a “more humane” leader who is “closer to the troops,”the analyst explained.

Syrsky himself – alongside the Ukrainian military intelligence chief, Kirill Budanov – reportedly “politely declined” an offer to take up Zaluzhny’s position, the paper claimed. Yesterday, Britain’s The Times named Syrsky and Budanov as possible candidates to be Ukraine’s top general, also reporting that they had refused.

Despite Zaluzhny retaining his post, the conflict between him and Zelensky continues to “smolder,” Bild alleged. The relationship between the two men reportedly began to deteriorate when the general wrote an article for The Economist in November, describing the battlefield situation as a “stalemate”following Kiev’s failed counteroffensive. The president has vehemently rejected that assessment.

According to the German outlet, the president and his commander also clashed over strategy in the cities of Bakhmut and Avdeevka. In late spring 2023, when the Russian forces were pressing their advantage against the Ukrainians in Bakhmut, Zelensky insisted the city should be held to the last man, while Zaluzhny wanted to withdraw to preserve his forces, the paper said, adding that the situation was being repeated in Avdeevka.

On Wednesday, the New York Times reported that Zelensky had abandoned his plans to fire the top general after his plan was leaked to the media. CNN reported on Thursday, however, that the Ukrainian leader still wanted to go ahead with the decision and would fire Zaluzhny by the end of the week.

On 2 November 1963, Ngô Đình Diệm, the president of South Vietnam,was arrested and assassinated in a successful CIA-backed coup d'état led by General Dương Văn Minh. The coup was the culmination of nine years of autocratic and nepotistic family rule in the country. This allowed Colonel Nguyễn Hữu Có, Đính's deputy, to take command of the 7th Division. The transfer allowed the rebels to completely encircle the capital and denied Cao the opportunity of storming Saigon and protecting Diệm, as he had done during the previous coup attempt in 1960. Minh and Đôn had invited senior Saigon based officers to a meeting at the headquarters of the Joint General Staff (JGS), on the pretext of routine business. Instead, they announced that a coup was underway, with only a few, including Tung, refusing to join. Tung was later forced at gunpoint to order his loyalist Special Forces to surrender. The coup went smoothly as the rebels quickly captured all key installations in Saigon and sealed incoming roads to prevent loyalist forces from entering. This left only the Presidential Guard to defend Gia Long Palace. The rebels attacked government and loyalist army buildings but delayed the attack on the palace, hoping that Diệm would resign and accept the offer of safe passage and exile. Diệm refused, vowing to reassert his control. After sunset, the 5th Division of Colonel Nguyễn Văn Thiệu, who later became the nation's president, led an assault on Gia Long Palace and it fell by daybreak.[11]

In the early morning of 2 November, Diệm agreed to surrender. The ARVN officers had intended to exile Diệm and Nhu, having promised the Ngô brothers safe passage out of the country. At 06:00, just before dawn, the officers held a meeting at JGS headquarters to discuss the fate of the Ngô brothers. According to Lucien Conein, the US Army and CIA officer who was the American liaison with the coup, most of the officers, including Minh, wanted Diệm to have an "honorable retirement" from office, followed by exile.[12] Not all of the senior officers attended the meeting, with some having already left to make arrangements for the arrival of Diệm and Nhu at JGS headquarters. General Lê, a former police chief under Diệm in the mid-1950s, strongly lobbied for Diệm's execution. There was no formal vote taken at the meeting, and Lê attracted only minority support.One general was reported to have said "To kill weeds, you must pull them up at the roots".[12] Conein reported that the generals had never indicated that assassination was in their minds, since an orderly transition of power was a high priority in achieving their ultimate aim of gaining international recognition.[13]

Berlusconi’s villa put on sale for over $500 million – FT

The Sardinian property of Italy’s late ex-prime minister is famous for hosting many prominent politicians, including Russian President Vladimir Putin

The family of Italy’s late former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has put up for sale his luxurious Sardinian beach estate, Villa Certosa, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, citing sources at real estate adviser Dils, which will be in charge of the sale.

According to the report, the price tag for the property has been set at €500 million ($540 million), nearly twice as much as its latest appraisal in 2021, which assessed the estate at €260 million.

Sources said the transaction will be private, and will not be advertised publicly. Several billionaires from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, and the US are reportedly among potential buyers, along with a number of international luxury hospitality companies. Viewings are due to begin later this month.

Neither Dils CEO Giuseppe Amitrano nor the spokesperson for the Berlusconi family holding company has so far commented on the report.

Villa Certosa is a 110-hectare estate on Sardinia’s northeastern coast. It has 68 rooms, along with direct access to the Mediterranean Sea, several swimming pools and tennis courts, four bungalows, a gym, a greenhouse, and an amphitheater.

Berlusconi, who died last June, acquired the property in the late 1980s and completely rebuilt and enlarged it. He went on to host many prominent politicians at the estate, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, former US President George Bush and ex-UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The Berlusconi family owns multiple properties in Italy and abroad. According to media reports, Villa Certosa is among several estates that will go on sale in the near future, as their upkeep has become increasingly expensive. Some properties, however, will remain in the family, with ownership divided among Berlusconi’s five children.
