Trump Responds to Rumors About Red Marks on His Hand

Trump said maybe it was AI. “Asked what had happened to the hand the former president said: ‘Nothing. Maybe it was AI.'” Trump said according to The Daily Mail.

 

President Trump responded to speculation about the red marks seen on his hand earlier this month as he was headed to a Manhattan court.

 

Earlier this month Trump was photographed while he was on his way to a Manhattan court to attend a trial where the jury will decide how much he has to pay E. Jean Carroll for his so-called ‘defamatory’ statements about her.

 

The left-wing media freaked out over red marks on President Trump’s right hand.

 

It could have been red marker or blisters from playing golf, but miserable leftists like James Carville immediately claimed Trump has syphilis.

 

“They look like syphilis,” James Carville said of the red marks on Trump’s hands.

 

Carville claimed he asked several doctors (who never examined Trump) what the red marks could be and the answer was “immediate: secondary syphilis.”

Ukraine promises new ‘counteroffensive’

 

Kiev’s military intelligence chief believes that spring will bring another opportunity to break Russia’s defenses

 

Ukrainian forces will go on the offensive against Russia once more in the spring, military intelligence chief Kirill Budanov told The Telegraph on Tuesday. It remains unclear how Kiev will acquire the weapons or the half a million men it needs to cover its losses after last summer’s failed counteroffensive.

 

Budanov claimed that Russia’s offensive operations around the Donbass settlements of Kupyansk, Liman, Artyomovsk (called Bakhmut in Ukraine), and Avdeevka will be “completely exhausted” by “early spring.”

 

“We make a move, the enemy makes a move,” he said. “Now is the enemy’s turn. It will end, and then ours will start.”

 

Ukraine’s last counteroffensive began in June and lasted until around October, with Ukrainian forces attempting to penetrate Russia’s defensive lines at multiple points across Kherson, Zaporzhye, and Donetsk Regions. It failed to achieve any significant territorial gains and cost Kiev around 160,000 lives, according to figures from the Russian Defense Ministry.

 

This time around, the Ukrainian military would be heading into battle with much of its Western-provided hardware destroyed and its best-trained troops replaced with inexperienced conscripts, all while continued military aid from the US remains uncertain. Even now, the situation at the front is “dramatic,” anonymous “generals and soldiers” told Germany’s Die Welt newspaper last week, citing shortages of vital ammunition and fresh recruits.

 

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced plans last month to mobilize around 500,000 new conscripts to cover those lost since the beginning of the conflict almost two years ago. While Ukraine does not publish casualty figures, the Russian Defense Ministry places Kiev’s losses since February 2022 at nearly 400,000 men. Aleksey Arestovich, a former aide to President Vladimir Zelensky, put the figure at up to 300,000.

 

Zelensky’s top general, Valery Zaluzhny, described the battlefield situation in November as a “stalemate,” a comment that reportedly angered Zelensky. Acrimony between the two men exploded into the headlines this week when Zelensky reportedly fired – then rehired – Zaluzhny, all while Kiev’s censorship office dismissed the story as a baseless rumor aimed at “destroying the unity of Ukrainian society.”

 

However, American officials told Bloomberg earlier this month that the rift between the president and the general was real, and was “slowing efforts to crystallize a new strategy” for the coming year.

 

According to British newspaper The Times, Zaluzhny’s position was offered to Budanov, who declined. Had Zelensky replaced Zaluzhny with Budanov, he would have swapped a cynic with someone who shares his “messianic” belief in a military victory over Russia, as Zelensky’s aides described his vision in a Time magazine article last year.

 

It is unclear whether Zaluzhny, like Budanov, believes that Ukraine will be able to launch a counteroffensive this spring.

'Take Back Our Border' convoy leaves Denham Springs and heads for Texas

DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) - A group of protestors is driving thousands of miles in the hopes of shedding light on the ongoing issue at the Southern border. Migrant crossings have surged over the last three years, with more than 750,000 undocumented crossings since the beginning of the year. Folks say they drove in from various parts of the country.

 

“When they said they were gonna cut the wire down there and let them start crossing the border again, nuh uh. They need to close the border,” said one protestor who drove down with his friend from Tennessee to meet the group.

 

What started in Virginia led to Jacksonville, Florida, and then to Denham Springs, waiting to be greeted by folks cheering for their cause. One of the event organizers wanted to make it clear that the group is not looking for violence, and only wants to see a peaceful solution.

 

“I’ve told anybody that’s a part of what we’re doing, we’re not about violence. If you are about that, you are not a part of us,” said organizer Y.G. Nyghtstorm. Federal agents are still being denied entry into Shelby Park, Texas, where the Texas National Guard has taken control of the border. President Biden gave Texas officials a deadline to stand down, which Texas Governor Greg Abbott said he refuses to do until the border is secured.

 

Since then, legal action at the federal level has been under consideration, and so far, more than half of state governors have come out in support for Texas, including Gov. Jeff Landry.

 

“We stand with Governor Abbott and Texas in reminding the federal government that under our constitution, states are still sovereign,” said the Governor in a video posted to social media.

 

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the only solution is a deal both sides can agree on.

 

“Here in the Senate, both sides have an obligation to tune the partisan noise out and continue working. Bipartisanship is the only way that action on the border is going to happen,” said Sen. Schumer.

 

State Republican Senator Valarie Hodges, who was in the crowd, said Louisiana should do all it can to help.

 

“Honestly, I would love to see Governor Landry support Governor Abbot with the National Guard, with whatever resources that we can do that can help because really, all states in America have become a border state,” Sen. Hodges explained.

 

Attorney General Liz Murrill sent a letter to the president telling him and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas that if they cannot bring themselves to enforce the law, get out of the way so Texas can.

“We have people that are on the known terrorist watch list come across our border. We have an enormous amount of fentanyl coming across our border. The interstates have been turned into arteries for mainlining fentanyl into the smallest towns and communities and our country. This is about the federal administration failing to do its job and the President of the United States failing to do his job,” said the Attorney General.

 

With illegal border crossings continuing to climb, folks are left wondering how all of this will end.

 

“I don’t really know how it’s going to play out. I just applaud Governor Abbott’s courage and the other governors who stood with him. Hopefully, it will make a difference. Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call for President Biden,” Sen. Hodges added.

 

“Honestly, I’m gonna be 45. I’m a grandpa, I’m a neighbor, and times are tough these days. I don’t feel like they need to be this tough,” said another protestor who drove in to meet the convoy all the way from Pennsylvania.

“That is what this is about. It’s about different people coming together who love our country and want to protect our borders. We’re doing this in a peaceful way,” Nyghtstorm continued.

 

The convoy left Denham Springs on Wednesday, Jan. 31, and plans to make several more stops along border hotspots. They’re expecting their largest group of folks to join in once they reach certain parts of Texas and Arizona.

Kremlin responds to NATO war games ‘threat’

NATO’s Steadfast Defender 2024 war games that kicked off in Europe last week present a threat to Russia’s national security, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday, noting that the US-led bloc is an “instrument of confrontation.”

 

The exercises, hailed to be the largest NATO has held in decades, are said to involve some 90,000 troops from all 31 member states as well as Sweden andwill last for several months, ultimately ending in May, according to the bloc’s Supreme Allied Commander for Europe Christopher Cavoli.

 

It’s also noted that some 1,100 combat vehicles, including 133 tanks and 533 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as over 50 naval vessels and 80 helicopters, drones and fighter jets are set to take part in the exercises.

 

Commenting on the war games, Peskov pointed out thatNATO has always been intended as a “instrument of confrontation” that is controlled by Washington.

 

“The alliance, in fact, was conceived, formed, configured and is currently managed by the United States precisely as an instrument of confrontation. This instrument continues to fulfill its role and, of course, it is a threat to us,”the Kremlin spokesperson said. Ex-IRS Contractor Who Leaked Trump’s Tax Returns Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison

 

A former contractor for the IRS was sentenced to five years in prison on Jan. 29 for leaking tax information associated with thousands of individuals, including former President Donald Trump.

 

Charles Littlejohn, 38, pleaded guilty in October 2023 to one count of unauthorized disclosure of tax returns and return information. He leaked President Trump’s information to The New York Times in 2019 and shared data on some of the wealthiest Americans with ProPublica in 2020. His crime, U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes said, was the “biggest heist” in IRS history. His sentence included $5,000 in fines and community service.

 

“It cannot be open season on our elected officials,” Judge Reyes said before adding that judges had a duty to make that clear. She later noted that Mr. Littlejohn purposefully sought his job at least in part to leak tax information.

 

Judge Reyes began the hearing in Washington by lending her “sympathy” for Mr. Littlejohn while accusing him of perpetrating an “attack” on the nation’s constitutional democracy.

 

“He targeted the sitting president of the United States of America and that is exceptional by any measure,” she told Mr. Littlejohn’s attorney. She added that in targeting President Trump, Mr. Littlejohn targeted the office of president.

 

Judge Reyes said she would go beyond sentencing guidelines, adding that his offense covered the personal information and tax information of a substantial number of individuals, as well as risking nonmonetary harm. She also scrutinized the plea deal, stating she had “no words” for the fact that he only faced one count.

According to a Monday complaint filed with the university, as well as an analysis by the Washington Free Beacon's Aaron Sibarium, large portions of Charleston's work very clearly appears to have been lifted from others without so much as quotation marks. She even took credit for her own husband's work, according to the report.

 

The complaint makes 40 allegations of plagiarism that span the entirety of Charleston's thin publication record.In her 2009 dissertation, submitted to the University of Michigan, Charleston quotes or paraphrases nearly a dozen scholars without proper attribution, the complaint alleges. And in her sole peer-reviewed journal article—coauthored with her husband, LaVar Charleston, in 2014—the couple recycle much of a 2012 study published by LaVar Charleston, the deputy vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, framing the old material as new research.

 

Through that sleight of hand, Sherri Ann Charleston effectively took credit for her husband's work.

Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, was also handed a 14-year sentence in the case, known as Toshakhana, which accused them both of illegally selling state gifts. The judge also banned them both from holding political office for 10 years.

The sentence, given at a hearing held in the Rawalpindi prison where Khan, 71, is being held, further worsens the plight of the beleaguered former prime minister, who has been in jail since August and is facing more than 100 different charges.

The judge had denied Khan’s lawyers’ request to cross-examine witnesses in the trial and his lawyers were not present on Wednesday, when the sentence was given.

Khan questioned why there was an apparent rush to wrap up the case. “Why are you in a hurry to announce the verdict? I have not even recorded my final statement,” he told the judge, before exiting the courtroom. The verdict was then given without either Khan or Bibi present.

Bibi surrendered to the authorities at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Wednesday morning.

The Toshakhana verdict came a day after a special court, also held in prison, found Khan guilty of leaking state secrets in relation to a sensitive diplomatic cable that allegedly went missing in his possession. Khan had described the trial as a sham and lawyers said he would be appealing against the verdict.

The timing of both consecutive convictions was deemed as significant by observers, coming a week before Pakistan goes to the polls in its long-delayed general election. Though Khan is already banned from running, he remains hugely popular among voters.
