Nashville Police Say ‘Ongoing Investigation’ Prevents Release Of Covenant Shooter’s Manifesto

 

Attorneys representing Nashville, Tennessee argued Tuesday in court that police were still investigating aspects of the shooting committed at the Covenant School last March, when a transgender-identifying shooter murdered six people, and, therefore, the city is unable to release documents related to the case such as the shooter’s writings.

 

The argument came during a hearing over whether to release the killer’s writings, which have thus far been sealed from the public. The hearing, overseen by Judhr I’Ashea L. Myles, took place at the Davidson County Chancery Court in Nashville, comes just over a year after three young children and three school staff members were killed during the shooting at Covenant, a private Christian school in Nashville.

 

During the hearing, Lora Fox, an attorney for the city of Nashville, indicated that the city’s police were still investigating the shooting, including probing whether the transgender-identifying killer had any accomplices. The shooter was shot dead by authorities on the scene of the crime, and there has thus far been no indication that anybody else was involved.

 

Notably, Fox stated that Nashville police expected to wrap up their investigation by July 1. Fox said the police are prepared to release most of their investigative file, excluding some details about school security and diagrams of the school. When questioned by Myles, she also said that she believed that the killer’s journal, which was found in the car she left at the school, would be able to be released to the public with some redactions.

 

The debate during the hearing pinned on interpretation of the Tennessee Public Records Act and the Tennessee Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights. Lawyers for groups advocating for the documents to be released say there is compelling public interest for the public to view the killer’s writings.

 

“The only question before the court is whether there are any exemptions that preclude public access to these records,” said Doug Pierce, a lawyer for the National Police Association, one of the groups represented in the lawsuit. “There is a presumption of openness. Those parties have the burden of proof here. The statutes should be construed to allow the public access to records.”

 

A lawyer for Judicial Watch, which is representing one of the groups in court, argued that Metro Nashville needs to provide a more detailed list of materials obtained from the shooter, as well as specific reasons why they’re exempted from release.

 

Lawyers for both Covenant School and Covenant Presbyterian Church, where the school is located, argued against the release of the writings. The church asked for more limited redactions pertaining to security while the school requested a broad ban on any of the killer’s writings being released.

 

Peter Klett, a lawyer for the school, argued that releasing the shooter’s writings could trigger more hatred and violence toward children and Christians. “Hateful words of the shooter certainly may have an audience in the general public,” he said, arguing against their release.

 

Limited portions of the alleged manifesto were leaked by commentator Steven Crowder, who obtained three photographs of the writings. The pages included racial slurs against white children as well as an itinerary for “death day,” which articulated the shooter’s intent to have a “high death count.”

 

Brent Leatherwood, a parent of several children who attend the Covenant School and the head of the Southern Baptist denomination’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, briefly spoke with reporters outside the courtroom after the Tuesday hearing. Leatherwood said the “deranged ramblings” of the shooter did not qualify as public records.

 

He said the lawyers seeking the release of the writings acted like they were representing the shooter because their desire to release the writings would give her notoriety.

 

The case is expected to resume on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. when the court is expected to hear arguments from Covenant school parents and rebuttals from the groups seeking the release of the documents. It is unclear when Myles will issue her decision on whether to release the writings or not.

Democrat Senator Menendez Poised To Blame His Wife For Alleged Crimes: Reports

 

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) appears set to try to blame his wife, Nadine Menendez, for the federal bribery charges that the couple is facing, according to newly unsealed court documents.

 

“At trial, as part of his defense, Senator Menendez may elect to testify to communications with his wife that serve to materially decrease any inference of culpability on Senator Menendez’s part,” the motion states. “Senator Menendez will explain, for example, what he and his wife discussed contemporaneously with their dinners with Egyptian officials (which colored his understanding of the purpose of such dinners); the explanations that Nadine provided for why [co-defendants Wael Hanna and Jose Uribe] had provided her certain monetary items; the reasons why he sent his wife a series of questions that other Senators purportedly intended to ask an Egyptian official; and many more topics.”

 

The 70-year-old senator is planning to show the “absence of any improper intent on Senator Menendez’s part” by “demonstrating the ways” that his wife “withheld information from Sen. Menendez or otherwise led him to believe that nothing unlawful was taking place,” the document continued.

 

The document added that by “demonstrating the absence of any improper intent on Senator Menendez’s part, they may inculpate Nadine.”

 

Menendez and his wife were indicted on federal charges in September for allegedly accepting bribes from three businessmen in exchange for actions that he took as chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee. According to the DOJ, the alleged bribes were intended to protect the businessmen and to benefit Egypt.

 

 

Prosecutors later said in a revised indictment that Menendez also allegedly used his clout to help a friend secure a multi-million dollar investment deal from the Qatari government, in part by taking actions that benefited Qatar.

 

In a subsequent superseding indictment, Menendez was also charged with conspiracy, obstruction of justice, public official acting as a foreign agent, bribery, extortion and honest services wire fraud.

Over 350 Humanitarian Sites and Convoys Have Been Attacked in Gaza

 

Prior to the Israeli military’s slaughter of seven World Central Kitchen (WCK) aid workers in Gaza this month, Middle East Eye (MEE) reports that at least 357 humanitarian-run sites and convoys had been attacked.

 

As with the incident involving the slain WCK workers which included an American citizen, the humanitarian orgs shared their coordinates in advance of operations with the warring parties. Israel hit them anyway and UN officials have warned of great difficulty in repairing the broken humanitarian notification system.

 

Current data shows that at least 216 aid workers have been killed during Israel’s indiscriminate bombing and relentless war on the Palestinian people trapped in the besieged, highly dense, coastal enclave. Aid workers told MEE the “scale of the incidents was unprecedented, even compared to the most dangerous war zones and emergencies they have experienced.” The vast majority of aid workers slaughtered have been employed by UNRWA, the UN aid agency for Palestinian refugees.

 

Nearly 34,000 people have been confirmed killed so far amidst Israel’s genocidal campaign, including more than 20,000 women and children. Brice de la Vingne, the head of the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) emergency unit said “To be frank, every single day we are discussing internally whether to leave Gaza. We should not be there.” He added, “The level of risk we are taking, I’ve never seen.”

 

He explained that aid operations in other wars are conducted outside the areas of actual fighting but the entire Strip has become a war zone. “In Gaza, we are in this nightmarish hell scenario where we are working in an environment where people are not supposed to be,” Vingne lamented.

 

According to the report, “The majority of the hits to deconfliction humanitarian sites – 352 – were to locations run by UNRWA, the largest aid organization operating in Gaza, including a food distribution center and schools sheltering thousands of civilians.”

 

MEE also found there were at least five other occasions where humanitarian sites or convoys were attacked including “a compound in Al-Mawasi housing staff working for the International Rescue Committee and Medical Aid for Palestine, the Gaza City offices of Doctors of the World, a [MSF] convoy in Gaza City and an MSF shelter in Al-Mawasi, and an American Near East Refugee (ANERA) shelter in Deir al-Balah.”

 

Despite Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant’s announcement of a new deconfliction cell for humanitarian aid groups, Jamie McGoldrick, the outgoing top UN aid official in Gaza, told the outlet “nothing substantive” has changed. Two weeks after the high-profile massacre of the WCK employees, communication between aid workers and the Israeli military regarding their location remains broken down or non-existent.

 

McGoldrick, whose final day at the post was last Friday, maintains that aid workers in the Gaza Strip require not only a hotline to correspond directly with the IDF but also must be provided with satellite phones and two-way radios. In other conflict zones, this is standard operating procedure. Not so amid Israel’s onslaught in the Strip, however, these devices are not furnished to aid workers ostensibly because the IDF fears they will fall into the hands of Hamas.

 

As Israel uses starvation as a weapon of war, the entire population in Gaza is on the brink of famine. Officials from the State Department and USAID have admitted that famine is already taking place in the northern parts of the Strip, where McGoldrick has warned that despite Israeli assurances the aid distribution system has seen no improvement.

 

The broken deconfliction system for aid workers in the Strip will only spell more deaths of deprivation, experts estimate that the death toll will surpass 100,000 by August if the situation remains unchanged. Moreover, Gaza’s medical system and infrastructure has been decimated by the Israeli campaign. Last month, the World Health Organization released statistics exposing that in excess of 400 medical facilities have been hit, killing nearly 700 people.

 

The Israeli air, land, and sea blockade imposed on the illegally occupied enclave 17 years ago was severely tightened after the October 7th Hamas attack on southern Israel. Gallant announced days later that the “human animals” living in the Strip, which includes more than a million children, will be indefinitely cut off from food, water, fuel, and medicine.

Like we didn't think of that, do you understand what 2 decades of blacklisting and gang stalking does? We didn't realize that we were being attacked until just a few years ago and by that time my wife gave all my money away, being the good Christian that she is, and paying for funerals, medical, and legal expenses in her home country, thinking that I wasn't blacklisted and that these bad times were just my paranoia. 20 arrests in clampdown against gang suspected of laundering EUR 10 million

 

The criminal network had been active for more than 8 years in the EU and South America

 

20 members of an intercontinental criminal network engaged in drug trafficking and money laundering have been arrested following a large-scale operation on 6 and 7 March in Spain and Portugal. The suspects laundered more than EUR 10 million using stolen identities of Colombian, Portuguese, Spanish and Venezuelan nationals. They had also created an ad hoc network of companies capable of financing the network’s activities and laundering ill-gotten profits.

 

The crackdown was the result of a long-running investigation led by the Spanish Police and Spanish Regional Catalan Police, supported by Europol and also involving Portuguese authorities. During the action days, law enforcement officers carried out 13 searches that led to the seizure of:

 

EUR 156 000 in cash,

gold bars worth EUR 35 000,

more than 50 vehicles,

jewellery and over 30 luxury watches worth a total of EUR 500 000,

electronic devices, such as mobile phones, and a weapon.

 

More than 100 bank accounts and 10 real estate properties worth over EUR 3 million were also blocked as a result of the operation.

 

Europol supported the investigation since September 2021 by providing operational analysis, technical expertise and operational coordination. On the action days, a money laundering specialist with a mobile office was deployed in Spain.

An investigation triggered by a cocaine seizure

 

The investigation began in 2018, when the police seized 1 400 kilos of cocaine hidden in a shipment from Brazil at the facilities of a company located in Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona). The subsequent operation led to the arrest of several members of an illegal drug trafficking network in 2019 and 2020.

 

With the support of Europol, law enforcement authorities discovered that the seized shipment was part of an international drug-trafficking operation aiming at distributing the drugs not only in Spain but across the EU. The high capacity for drug distribution uncovered the necessary economic network that made it possible to finance the drug shipments.

Numerous hard-to-trace methods to launder money

 

The investigation revealed that the shipments were carried out by a large group of people and companies based mainly in Almería, Andalucía, Catalunya and Madrid. Authorities also uncovered that the criminals were using several complex methods to launder money, which allowed them go unnoticed for years. The most common of these was the use of money mules. The gang divided large amounts of cash into multiple small transactions made by several money mules (a practice known as ‘smurfing’). The deposits made in this way were small enough to remain under regulatory reporting limits, thus avoiding detection.

 

The criminals also injected money into a network of companies they controlled, simulating business relationships to justify transfers of funds. At the same time, they had frontmen for registering ownership of assets in South America and used cars with hidden compartments to transfer cash, usually on the route Barcelona – Madrid – Lisbon.

More potential arrests

 

The criminal organisation had been active for more than eight years. Following a meticulous three-year investigation, Spanish and Portuguese authorities coordinated this joint operation in Andalucía, Aveiro, Catalunya, Lisbon and Madrid that led to the dismantling of the gang and the arrest of its leaders. 7 of the 20 arrested have already been imprisoned; 1 in Venezuela, another in Portugal and the rest in Spain. Some of the criminals linked to the gang were already imprisoned for other drug trafficking-related crimes.

 

The operation is ongoing and law enforcement authorities do not rule out more arrests in the future.

Defense Sector Panicking: Iran Missiles Defeated "Most Advanced, Integrated, ABM Defensive Systems"

 

As the attack was in-progress, Iran undertook a very unusual, and apparently foolish, series of steps. They announced they had launched drones and then cruise missiles against Israel. They announced this despite the fact the drones and missiles still had 57 more minutes to travel before reaching their targets!

 

Iran launched the old dregs of their arsenal! First generation drones. First generation cruise missiles. What they launched was the junk they had laying around for years! Slow moving, loud, junk. Iran WANTED Israeli defenses to focus on that old junk, and not on what they would fire next: Ballistic Missiles.

 

Many of the drones simply fell out of the sky from malfunctions. Others were easily intercepted by fighter jets from Israel, the US, and the UK, with some help from French naval assets in the Mediterranean Sea.

 

There was a much-heralded "99% interception success rate" broadcast around the world for all to hear. Turns out, there's a problem. A MAJOR problem: Iran's Ballistic Missiles. A few of them, got through.

 

The missiles that hit the two bases in the Negev region didn't just "get through." They did so against the most-heavily-defended area in the world, protected with the most advanced, integrated, Anti-Ballistic-Missile (ABM) systems known to exist in the West.

 

Two Israeli Bases in the Negev region and one Intelligence Base in the far north of Israel on Mount Hermon, got hit by Iranian missiles.

 

In the north, the secret intelligence base in the north of the occupied Golan Heights located in Jabal al-Sheikh (Mount Hermon), got hit and seriously damaged.

 

In the south, the Israeli Nevatim and Ramon Bases got hit and THIS is where the problem reared its ugly head.

 

According to secret intelligence information, at the Nevatim Air Base in the Negev Desert, Hangar to Israel's F-35 Stealth aircraft and Mossad Spy aircraft,at least Forty-four (44) Mossad personnel were killed.

 

Nevatim was defended by the world’s most advanced integrated anti-missile defense shield which incorporated Arrow 2, David’s Sling, THAAD, and Patriot 3 with the AN/TPY-2 X-band surveillance and targeting radar. This system was designed to exclusively defend against the Iranian medium-range ballistic missile threat.

 

And yet . . . 5 to 7 missiles hit Nevatim. The Israelis have acknowledged 2 runways and three warehouse structures hit.

 

5-7 missiles hit the world’s most heavily defended location, defeating an integrated ABM defense that was custom built to defeat the very missiles it failed to shoot down.

 

THAT has some people in the Defense sector, literally panicked. You see, if 5-7 missiles got through, then it is a given that others can get through. And simple math reveals that had Iran fired thirty (30) missiles at that base, the base would no longer exist.

 

As such, Israel is not only vulnerable, there is no "filler" technology that can be quickly inserted into the advanced, integrated system, to make things better for Israel. Put simply, right now, Israel is factually defenseless from any large salvos of these missiles.

 

The most advanced, integrated air defense radar system in the world, its mission is to detect Iranian missile launches, and pass targeting data to Israeli Arrow, David’s Sling, and U.S. THAAD ABM batteries deployed to protect sensitive Israeli sites, including Dimona and the Nevatim and Ramon air bases.

 

Iranian missiles struck both Nevatim and Ramon air bases.

Senate KILLS Articles of Impeachment Against Open Borders Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Breaking 227 Years of Congressional History

 

The United States Senate was supposed to hold the impeachment trial of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas beginning at 1 PM Eastern Wednesday. It actually proved to be a historically rapid dismissal by the Democrats.

 

As The Washington Post reported, the Senate at Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) urging voted to dismiss both articles of impeachment against Mayorkas, who has presided over the worst border crisis in America history.

 

Democrats voted along party lines on the first article of impeachment which charges Mayorkas with “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law,” finding the charge unconstitutional. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (RINO-Alaska) voted present.

 

Democrats then found the second article charging Mayorkas with “breach of public trust” to be unconstitutional. Murkowski voted with her GOP colleagues this time.

 

They then voted to end the impeachment “trial” completely, again on a party-line vote.

Federal Judge Clears Facebook's Zuckerberg Of Personal Liability In 25 'Social Media Addiction' Cases

 

A federal judge has ruled Meta Platforms, Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg will not face personal liability in 25 legal complaints alleging his social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram, have harmed children.

 

Meta is facing dozens of separate legal complaints alleging the company failed to sufficiently warn adolescent users about the potentially addictive nature of their social media platforms. Those various complaints were consolidated into a multi-district litigation (MDL) currently being handled by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Twenty-five of the complaints sought to hold Mr. Zuckerberg personally liable for the harm allegedly caused by his social media platforms, but U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers issued a ruling on Monday granting his motion to dismiss the cases.

 

Plaintiffs in the cases had argued that Mr. Zuckerberg had a specific duty to disclose to users the potentially addictive nature of his platforms due to his public stature as the head of Meta and his public statements. The plaintiffs asserted Mr. Zuckerberg repeated partial representations of Meta’s safety practices through numerous public appearances. The plaintiffs argued Mr. Zuckerberg’s alleged failure to make more fulsome public claims about his company made him liable for fraudulent and negligent misrepresentation by omission.

 

But Judge Rogers said the plaintiffs could not rely on Mr. Zuckerberg’s comparative knowledge about Meta’s products to establish he personally owed such a duty to each plaintiff.

 

Such a ruling, she said, would create “a duty to disclose for any individual recognizable to the public.”

 

“The Court will not countenance such a novel approach here,” she wrote.

 

Judge Rogers ultimately dismissed plaintiffs’ claims of fraudulent misrepresentation by omission or nondisclosure under Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin state laws. She further dismissed plaintiffs’ claims of negligent misrepresentation by omission that was cited under the laws of Arizona, Connecticut, Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Legal (AFL) sued Secretary Xavier Becerra, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Archivist of the United States Colleen Shogan, and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for illegally destroying federal records from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in violation of the Federal Records Act.

 

On March 29, 2023, AFL sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General, requesting an investigation of the CDC’s unlawful policy of deleting employee emails. AFL requested records regarding the CDC’s support for teacher-led indoctrination of children with radical gender ideology.

 

Federal law requires that each agency “make and preserve records containing adequate and proper documentation of the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, and essential transactions of the agency and designed to furnish the information necessary to protect the legal and financial rights of the Government and of persons directly affected by the agency’s activities.”

 

Yet, in a routine email regarding the disclosure of these records, the CDC told AFL that the CDC routinely deletes the emails of nearly all of its employees thirty days after they leave the agency:

 

NARA investigated the allegations but determined that because the “CDC instructs individual email account holders to apply retention based on the email’s content value and its applicability to a NARA-approved records schedule,” NARA considered the matter closed.

 

In short, NARA appears to entrust individual CDC employees to decide which emails can be automatically deleted.

 

This is patently inconsistent with the law.

 

Moreover, if the federal government wants to unlawfully assert that anytime a government employee leaves an agency their records are no longer considered records of the United States, then the same assumption would apply to former Presidents of the United States.

Google is laying off a 'large' number of employees while other jobs will be shipped overseas, the tech giant revealed on Wednesday.

 

The unspecified number of firings are not company-wide and affected employees will be able to apply for internal roles, a spokesman confirmed.

 

A small percentage of the impacted roles will be required to relocate to hubs the company is investing in, including Chicago, Atlanta, India and Dublin.

Footage Shows Hezbollah Drone Slam Into Northern Israel Community Center, 18 Wounded

 

Times of Israel: 14 TROOPS, 4 CIVILIANS Wounded

Israeli emergency authorities are reporting that casualties from a suicide drone attack on a northern Israeli village have risen to at least 18 people wounded.

 

Hezbollah took responsibility for launching the suicide drone which ultimately scored a direct hit on a community center, with Israeli media noting that air warning sirens failed to sound during the attack. However, Hezbollah claimed it was targeting a building used by the Israeli military.

 

According to Times of Israel, "The victims were taken to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya. which said that one victim was listed in critical condition and two others were seriously wounded."

 

"Another four people were listed in moderate condition, while the remaining victims were lightly hurt, the hospital added," the report indicates. Public broadcaster Kan published dramatic footage showing the small drone slam into a building, erupting into a large fireball…

The IDF says it is investigating why the crucial air raid warning systems failed during the attack, only apparently turning on in the aftermath of the strike.

 

Israel's military further said it immediately retaliated by striking Hezbollah launch positions in southern Israel, as has been typical in what's become a daily tit-for-tat and intensifying cross-border fire.

 

Also on Wednesday, the IDF conducted strikes on the southern Lebanese town of Aita al-Shaabb, as well as aerial attacks on Yarin and Naquora.

Biden claims ‘cannibals’ got his uncle

US military records tell a different story of the WWII incident

 

US President Joe Biden has claimed on the campaign trail that an uncle of his who went missing in the Pacific during the Second World War had been eaten by cannibals.

 

Second Lieutenant Ambrose Finnegan of the US Army Air Forces was declared missing in May 1944, after his light bomber crashed in the sea.

 

“He got shot down in an area where there were a lot of cannibals at the time,” Biden told reporters outside Air Force One in Scranton, Pennsylvania. “They never recovered his body, but the government went back when I went down there and they checked and found some parts of the plane.”

 

Several hours later, at a meeting with United Steelworkers union members in Pittsburgh, Biden told the same story.

 

“He got shot down in New Guinea and they never found the body because there used to be – there were a lot of cannibals, for real, in that part of New Guinea,” the 81-year-old Democrat said. (Key words, “for real”=I’m always lying)

 

According to the Pentagon’s agency for prisoners of war and missing in action (POW-MIA),Finnegan was never shot down, however. Nor was it on a reconnaissance mission, as Biden claimed.

 

The A-20 Havoc light bomber was on a “courier run” from the Los Negros Island when its engines failed at low altitude, per the official account of the incident. The plane dropped into the sea off the north coast of New Guinea and two out of three crew members never made it out of the sinking wreck, which was never found. The one man who survived was rescued by a passing boat.

 

Biden has told many fictitious tales about his life over a 50-year career in politics, most famously about getting arrested while trying to visit Nelson Mandela in a South African prison. He has repeated one debunked story about an Amtrak conductor more than a dozen times.

 

The cannibal claim about Uncle Ambrose, however,served as a springboard for attacking his predecessor – and presumptive challenger – Donald Trump. In the campaign speech in Pittsburgh, Biden told a story about how Trump allegedly refused to honor fallen US soldiers buried in France, calling them “suckers” and “losers.”

 

The story first appeared in The Atlantic magazine in September 2020, referring to events in November 2018, at the centenary of the WWI armistice. Trump denied the accusation, calling it “more made up fake news given by disgusting and jealous failures in a disgraceful attempt to influence the 2020 election!”

 

Documents debunking the Atlantic’s claim surfaced within days, but that has not stopped Democrats from repeatedly bringing it up as if true.
