Controversial Australian Olympic breaker Rachael Gunn retires from competition

SYDNEY – Australian breaker Rachael Gunn has told a Sydney radio station that she plans to retire from competition just three months after her unconventional routine at the Paris Olympics led to her being ridiculed and spawned conspiracy theories about how she qualified for the Games.

 

The now 37-year-old Sydney university lecturer failed to get on the scoreboard in all three of her competition rounds in August, with a routine that included unorthodox moves such as a kangaroo hop.

 

Gunn had initially planned to keep competing but said the experience had been so "upsetting" that she changed her mind.

 

"I just didn't have any control over how people saw me or who I was," she told radio station 2DayFM. "I was going to keep competing, for sure, but that seems really difficult for me to do now. I think the level of scrutiny that's going to be there, and people will be filming it, and it will go online."

 

Breaking was being contested at an Olympics for the first time . And it might be a one-and-done, not scheduled on the Olympic program for Los Angeles in 2028 or for Brisbane, Australia in 2032.

Did Government-Sponsored Disinformation Worsen COVID-19?

Internet censorship led to underreporting of the incidence of respiratory infections.

 

Governments must stop sponsoring disinformation to avoid blame or gain a political advantage.

 

The recent report from the US House Energy and Commerce Committee titled “We Can Do This: An Assessment of the Department of Health and Human Services’ COVID-19 Public Health Campaign” provides detailed, documented information concerning the public Covid-19 PsyWar/Propaganda disinformation campaign delivered by the “Fors Marsh Group” corporation for the US Department of Health and Human Services. This was previously discussed in this Substack essay.

 

According to the documentation provided, the principal HHS partner cooperating with Fors Marsh to provide content and messaging guidance regarding approved Covid-19 interventions was the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The report conclusions and appendix include data summaries implying that this nearly one billion dollar campaign ($911,174,285) contributed to the development of widespread US citizen resistance to Covid-19 “vaccine” uptake, and was associated with deterioration in confidence concerning the CDC, the public health enterprise, and vaccines.

 

The Fors Marsh campaign specifically and intentionally deployed fear-based messaging to influence public behavior to comply with CDC and other USG recommendations. The intentional promotion of fear of death from an infectious disease disproportionate to actual risk of death is psychological bioterrorism and is associated with significantly greater social, political, and economic damage than that associated with known actual bioterror events such as the US Anthrax spore letter distribution campaign.

 

The weaponization of fear of death from an infectious disease as a component of an intentional propaganda campaign designed to modify human behavior is morally abhorrent, and is associated with a wide range of direct economic and mental health harms. These harms were never considered during the development and deployment of this HHS-sponsored psychological warfare technology-based propaganda campaign. This type of messaging and propaganda meets the criteria of State-sponsored disinformation.

 

In contrast to misinformation, which refers to simply false information, disinformation refers to false information that is spread deliberately to deceive people. Unsurprisingly, political leaders, especially those who have undermined democratic institutions, adopt disinformation as an instrument for gaining support and reducing resistance, especially during crucial political moments such as elections and wars (Guriev and Treisman, 2019).

The CDC’s disregard for emerging evidence that contradicted its own preferred policy outcomes demonstrates an insular culture unable—and unwilling—to change course with evolving science. By November 10, 2021, in line with ACIP’s recommendation, the Campaign began airing ads targeting parents of children aged 5-11 years. These ads inaccurately suggested children were at high risk of severe illness or death from COVID-19. Many ads were emotionally manipulative and sought to incite fear by exaggerating the risk of severe illness and death among low-risk populations, such as children. This was especially true of ads that targeted parents. At the same time, the ads played down vaccine associated risks.

Oddly, the object, which measures ~30-40m per QGIS calculations, was not mentioned in the GoPhoenix contact reports conducted by the search team. I think it was overlooked because of its resemblance to geological elements.

 

You will need to run that GEOTIFF data through a GIS program to optimize it and change the contrast. The red gradient doesn't show the square edges of the object with the same definition.

 

It's not a knife, it's a likely man-made object the length of a Boeing 777 found 4KM from the last known signal.

I think this is what is left of the fuselage, perhaps two thirds or half of it. It's actually unlikely it would stay in one piece on impact, but some have floated the idea that the pilot attempted a controlled ditching of the plane.

Nine months later, faced with a surge driven by the Delta variant, the Biden-Harris administration reneged on its pledge and announced, in a nationwide primetime address, that it would impose Covid-19 vaccine mandates. President Biden stated that “in total, the vaccine requirements in my plan will affect about 100 million Americans.” He ominously warned unvaccinated Americans or those who had only received a single dose, that “[w]e’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin.” The mandates were presented as a way to protect higher-risk vaccinated workers and those too young to be vaccinated from catching Covid-19 spread by unvaccinated individuals.

 

At the time of the announcement, over 175 million Americans were vaccinated with about 80 million Americans remaining unvaccinated. The vast majority of unvaccinated individuals were under the age of 50 and at comparatively low risk of severe illness and death. More importantly, at that time, over 85 percent of people over 65 years old had received one dose, and around 78 percent had completed the two-shot primary series. Similarly, over 75 percent of people 50-64 years old had received at least one dose. Thus, the age groups at highest risk of severe illness or death were largely already vaccinated by the time the mandates were announced.

The fact that HHS’s COVID-19 pandemic policies, guidance, and recommendations, including Campaign messaging, were grounded in incorrect data generated by a faulty algorithm that had inflated the number of COVID-19 deaths shattered HHS’s remaining credibility. The CDC’s admission to overcounting deaths undermined the Campaign’s promotional materials. The Campaign’s messaging pressured parents to believe their children were facing life-or-death scenarios. By using artificially inflated child mortality rates, the Campaign greatly overstated the threat facing children and struck unnecessary fear into households everywhere. Parents felt betrayed, and those who resisted or tuned out the warnings felt vindicated.

Among unvaccinated adults, nearly half of all those surveyed remained unvaccinated due to concerns about the long-term side effects of the vaccines. Others remained concerned about the speed with which the vaccines were developed, their efficacy in preventing COVID infection and transmission, as well as mistrust of government motives in widely encouraging vaccines.

 

Survey findings between January and June 2022 also reveal no significant change in booster uptake among fully vaccinated adults. Notably, survey findings also reveal that while the Campaign was ongoing, booster uptake peaked at 27 percent in November 2021 and gradually declined to 3 percent in March 2022.

 

The Campaign closely monitored vaccine hesitancy among the public, including among parents of children under 18 years. A CET survey finding from March 2022 showed between 60 and 76 percent of parents with unvaccinated children under 18 years were concerned about potential vaccine side effects. At the same time, 53 percent of adults agreed that parents should be able to make their own choices about getting their children vaccinated, and as the COVID pandemic lagged, Campaign findings indicated a 20 percent drop in the number of adults who supported mask mandates in schools over a seven-month period. Interestingly, school mask and vaccination mandates for teachers, staff, visitors, and students were most strongly supported by liberal, vaccinated adults, non-parents and those dwelling in urban areas. In contrast, parents were more likely to agree that COVID vaccines for young children, especially those under 5, were unnecessary.

 

By 2022, many Americans had had enough. In April 2022, nearly half of all surveyed adults agreed that vaccination and masking decisions are personal choices and should not be mandated. These statistics reveal how public perception significantly diverged from that of the Biden-Harris administration and the Campaign’s messaging. Demonstratively, when the federal mandate requiring masks in airports and on airplanes, buses, subways, trains, and other forms of public transportation was scheduled to expire on April 18, 2022, the CDC, and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) chose to extend it another two weeks—until May 3. Although major airlines such as Delta and American Airlines called to an end to the requirement, President Biden “promised to veto any legislation overturning it.”

Space National Guard Could Become Reality Under Donald Trump

President Donald Trump's election win likely means the creation of a Space National Guard under his administration after he made creating the new reserve force a notable promise during his campaign.

Trump, who will soon be the second president in history who will have served two nonconsecutive terms in office, said during a National Guard Association of the United States conference in August that "as president, I will sign historic legislation creating a Space National Guard."

 

The idea has been strongly opposed by the Air Force, Space Force and President Joe Biden's administration, but it has been heavily pushed by bipartisan groups of lawmakers and National Guard lobbyists.

The National Guard Association of the United States, or NGAUS, told Military.com on Tuesday that it hasn't forgotten that promise.

"We look forward to working with the new administration to make the Space National Guard a reality," retired Maj. Gen. Francis McGinn, the association president, said in an emailed statement.

 

Debates over the creation of a Space National Guard aren't new, but received renewed support over the past year, including from the now president-elect.

Meanwhile, Space Force officials have pushed for a different part-time, active-duty service model which was signed into law in the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act instead of a traditional Guard or reserve model.

The issue reached a tipping point when an Air Force proposal earlier this year opted to transfer Air National Guard units with space missions into the active-duty Space Force, bringing swift condemnation from every governor in the country and bipartisan groups of lawmakers.

 

There have been prior legislative proposals, from lawmakers such as Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., aiming to create a Space National Guard, but they never made it far in Congress.

Trump told the NGAUS conference that Rubio is "very much a fan of yours" and added the lawmaker "loves" the plan of creating a Space National Guard.

Spokespeople for President-elect Trump and Rubio did not return requests for comment Wednesday asking about the idea.

 

The White House Office of Management and Budget, under President Biden, said in 2021 it "strongly opposes" the creation of a Space National Guard, saying it would balloon costs up to $500 million annually.

The National Guard Bureau has pushed back on that figure, claiming it would be $250,000 to replace Air National Guard units with space missions' name tapes, unit flags and signs.

Todd Harrison, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute who focuses on space policy, told Military.com in an interview Wednesday that the creation of a Space National Guard faces its best probability under a Trump administration – but added that it's not a guarantee.

 

"I think the odds have gone up that a Space National Guard gets created, but I think it's still not a sure thing," Harrison said.

"A lot of things get promised during campaigns where the candidate really has no intention of following through, and so this could be one of those things that he said when he was in front of an interest group, and he knew that it's what they wanted to hear."

Harrison added that the creation of a Space Guard would likely have to find its way into a future version of the annual National Defense Authorization Act legislation created by Congress and, if it does, it likely wouldn't be a big enough issue to warrant a veto.

 

Under Trump's first term, he signed the 2020 National Defense Authorization Act that created the Space Force – a promise he had made at prior political rallies and an initiative that he's continued to say was a major victory during his earlier time as commander in chief.

How the president-elect plans to utilize the military remains to be seen, but Trump has been vocal on the campaign trail about tapping it to respond to domestic "enemies from within" and fighting against "woke" ideology within the ranks, Military.com reported.

Harrison added that the Space Force could view Trump's reelection as an asset because of his role in creating the branch and therefore his understanding of the service's importance.

 

"It's probably a good thing, overall, for the Space Force that you've got a president that [has] bought into their existence," Harrison said.

"Whereas in the last administration, they appeared to not really understand that a Space Force had been created and weren't necessarily bought into it at the beginning, but then pretty quickly came around to it."

There’s regulatory authority, executive powers, and the like. There’s also legislation within our states. The key here is that every tool in the toolbox has got to be used to protect our citizens, protect our residents, protect our states, and certainly to hold the line on democracy and the rule of law as a basic principle.

40 monkeys flee medical lab in US

 

Police have warned local residents not to approach the animals

 

Residents of a town in South Carolina have been warned to avoid potentially infectious monkeys after 40 animals escaped from a nearby research facility.

 

The monkeys somehow made it out of the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center in Yemassee, about 60 miles (100km) southwest of Charleston, on Wednesday.

 

“Traps have been set up around the area, and the Yemassee Police Department is currently on-site utilizing thermal imaging cameras in an attempt to locate the animals,” the police said on Wednesday evening. “Residents are strongly advised to keep doors and windows secured to prevent these animals from entering homes.”

 

Alpha Genesis uses the Yemassee facility to breed monkeys for medical research and testing. The company website says it provides “nonhuman primate products and bio-research services.” The monkeys are then used for clinical trials for a variety of diseases.

 

It was unclear whether the primates involved in Wednesday’s escape had been test subjects or might carry some contagion. The authorities are therefore urging extreme caution in dealing with the animals. Anyone who finds a monkey should not interact with it but instead call the police, the Yemassee Sheriff’s Department said.

 

Neither the police nor Alpha Genesis have identified the breeds of escaped primates. The company has worked with rhesus, macaque, and capuchins monkeys.

 

This is the second mass monkey escape from Alpha Genesis in less than a decade, according to local newspaper the Beaufour Post and Courier. In 2016, a total of 19 monkeys went missing for about six hours before they were rounded up and brought back.

 

In 2023, Alpha Genesis was contracted by the US government to run ‘Monkey Island’, a monkey colony off the coast of South Carolina that is home to about 3,500 primates.

To “counter Russia’s nuclear blackmail,” the Atlantic Council confidently asserted, “NATO must adapt its nuclear sharing program.” This includes moving B-61 atomic bombs to Eastern Europe and building a network of medium-range missile bases across the continent. The think tank praised Washington’s recent decision to send Tomahawk and SM-6 missiles to Germany as a “good start” but insisted that it “does not impose a high enough price” on Russia.

 

What the Atlantic Council does not divulge at any time is that not only would this drastically increase the likelihood of a catastrophic nuclear war, but that the weapons they specifically recommend come directly from manufacturers that fund them in the first place.

 

The B-61 bombs are assembled by Boeing, who, according to its most recent financial reports, gave tens of thousands of dollars to the organization. And the Tomahawk and SM-6 are produced by Raytheon, who recently supplied the Atlantic Council with a six-figure sum.

 

Thus, their recommendations not only put the world at risk but also directly benefit their funders.

 

Unfortunately, this gigantic conflict of interest that affects us all is par for the course among foreign policy think tanks. A MintPress News investigation into the funding sources of U.S. foreign policy think tanks has found that they are sponsored to the tune of millions of dollars every year by weapons contractors. Arms manufacturing companies donated at least $7.8 million last year to the top fifty U.S. think tanks, who, in turn, pump out reports demanding more war and higher military spending, which significantly increase their sponsors’ profits. The only losers in this closed, circular system are the American public, saddled with higher taxes, and the tens of millions of people around the world who are victims of the U.S. war machine.

 

The think tanks receiving the most tainted cash were, in order, the Atlantic Council, CSIS, CNAS, the Hudson Institute, and the Council on Foreign Relations, while the weapons manufacturers most active on K-Street were Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and General Atomics.

 

These think tanks directly affect conflicts around the world. CSIS, for example, are among the loudest advocates for arming Ukraine, Taiwan and Israel, even as the latter carries out a genocide in Palestine. A recent report lays out a shopping list of U.S. weapons that would help the Israeli military, including Excalibur artillery projectiles, JDAM bomb guidance systems, and Javelin missiles. Those weapons are manufactured by Raytheon, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin, respectively, all of whom are among CSIS’ top funders.

 

U.S. arms are being used daily to carry out illegal and deadly attacks against civilian populations in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria, making arms manufacturers directly complicit in war crimes.

 

One example of this is the recent Israeli bombing of the Al Mawasi humanitarian zone in Gaza. Israel dropped three one-ton MK-84 bombs on the camp, killing at least 19 people. Dozens more are still missing.

 

According to the UN, MK-84 bomb blasts rupture lungs, tear limbs and heads from bodies, and burst sinus cavities up to hundreds of meters away.

 

The MK-84 bombs were produced in the U.S. by General Dynamics and sent to Israel with Washington’s blessing. General Dynamics has made huge profits from the slaughter; the D.C.-based arms manufacturer’s stock price has jumped by 42% since October 7.

Gov. Abbott’s pro-Israel speech ban on Texas public school campuses violates the First Amendment, says court

 

Reason published an op-ed this week pointing out that Texas' General Order GA-44, enacted by Gov. Greg Abbott in response to the pro-Palestine protests that erupted at college and university campuses earlier this year, is more than likely unconstitutional.

 

Penned by Eugene Volokh, the article highlights what a federal court "correctly, I think," according to Volokh, had to say with regard to the case of Students for Justice in Palestine v. Abbott. In short, the bill, according to Judge Robert Pitman (W.D. Tex.), contains discriminatory language that probably does not pass the muster of the First Amendment.

 

"[A]s a threshold issue, the Court finds the incorporation of this specific definition of antisemitism is viewpoint discrimination," Pitman wrote. "In general, including the word 'antisemitism' in speech policies, perhaps in the context of protecting students from discrimination and harassment, is not inherently a First Amendment violation."

 

Abbott forcing Texas to avoid criticizing Israel with expanded prohibitions on "antisemitic" speech

In its preamble, General Order GA-44 details the events of the Israel-Palestine conflict and related protests that came out of the events of October 7 of last year. It specifically takes issue with some of the pro-Palestine chants, including the infamous "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" chant, which the Order states "has long been used by Hamas supporters to call for the violent dismantling of the State of Israel and the destruction of the Jewish people who live there."

 

As such, General Order GA-44 orders all institutions of higher learning in the Lone Star State to do the following three things:

 

1) Review and update their free speech policies "to address the sharp rise in antisemitic speech and acts on university campuses and establish appropriate punishments, including expulsion from the institution"

 

2) Ensure that all of these updated policies are enforced at all times on campus, specifically against "groups such as the Palestine Solidary Committee and Students for Justice in Palestine"

 

3) Include in their updated policies a new definition for "antisemitism," as also adopted by the State of Texas in Section 448.001 of the Texas Government Code, that expands its scope

 

"'Antisemitism' means a certain perception of Jews that may be expressed as hatred toward Jews," explains Section 448:001 of the Texas Government Code. "The term includes rhetorical and physical acts of antisemitism directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals or their property or toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities."

 

"Examples of antisemitism are included with the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's 'Working Definition of Antisemitism' adopted on May 26, 2016."

 

Two of those examples include, 1) denying Jewish people of "their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Isr[ae]l is a racist endeavor," and, 2) "Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis."

 

Judge Pitman sees right through what Abbott and his fellow pro-Zionist tyrants are trying to do by pigeonholing the definition of "antisemitism" to include pretty much anything critical against Israel and its often-violent policies.

 

"The Defendants wish to view the speech policies in this vacuum, claiming the revised policies do not in fact prohibit any specific expression," Pitman said. "But here, the speech policies do not leave 'antisemitism' open to constitutional definitions and interpretations, because GA-44 mandated a specific definition."

 

"In conclusion, the Court finds that Plaintiffs are likely to succeed on their claim, even under Tinker (Tinker v. Des Moines Indep. School Dist. (1969)) that the GA-44-compliant university policies impose impermissible viewpoint discrimination that chills speech in violation of the First Amendment."

At approximately 2:15 am Wednesday (ET), US Army Cyber Command monitored a call between Walz and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, who had won her race against Republican Royce White and who apparently thought Walz was calling to congratulate her. But that wasn’t the case. A frenzied Walz wailed he hadn’t heard from Harris in hours and said he was considering catching the next available flight to Europe because he had heard rumors that he and Harris would be “thoroughly investigated” if Trump won the election.

 

Klobuchar wasn’t receptive: “I don’t know where she is, and we shouldn’t be talking. I’m not part of anyone else’s mess, so leave me out of it and don’t ask me what you should do,” she said and hung up on Walz.

 

Ten minutes later, Walz was barking over the phone at Harris’s campaign manager, Quentin Fulks, demanding to know if he had seen or heard from Harris and whether he was planning to leave the country before January 2025.

 

“We lost because of you,” Fulks scolded Walz. “Why would I go anywhere? I’m not guilty of anything at all. Do me a favor, lose my number, don’t call me again. And for your sake, I hope you didn’t’ do the things people are saying you did.”

 

“What if I’m investigated?” Walz said.

 

“You’re on your own,” Fulks said and disconnected.

 

Our source said Walz dialed Kamala Harris 41 times in two hours, but all calls went to voicemail. “Please call me ASAP. I must know what’s going on,” was all he said.

 

“He sounded manic, like turbulently crazy. It seems that it’s every man for himself out there, and the Deep State’s alienating its weak points. He may know we have a sealed indictment on him, and that’s why he’s hysterical and thinking about fleeing. I was actually surprised he showed his face the next afternoon,” our source said.

 

Walz did appear at Harris’ concession speech at Howard University on Wednesday, though he had left early without conferring with Harris, who seemed to intentionally avoid him. Walz and a throng of mourners wept bitter tears as Harris sorrowfully told them she would not be the 47th President of the United States.

 

Our source added that White Hats overheard chatter from other Deep State aficionados, kleptocrats and criminals who share a communal hatred for the Constitution, suggesting a mass exodus may occur after January 20. He did not presently share those names.

 

Asked whether White Hats would arrest Walz and others before they could abscond, the source said, “I can’t comment on active investigations. I can tell you this: If they leave the US, they aren’t getting back in.”

 

When queried if White Hats intended to apprehend Harris, he said in closing, “Not until her humiliation is complete. And that’ll be the day she’s forced to certify the electoral results.”

House announces UAP hearings for Nov. 13

The House of Representatives has set a Nov. 13, 2024, date for the next hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), aka UFOs, with a witness list that includes a former Navy admiral.

The hearing follows one held in the summer of 2023 after whistleblower David Grusch alleged the Pentagon has been operating a secret UFO retrieval program.

 

Held by the House Oversight Committee, the hearing, titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth,” will begin on the 13th at 11:30 a.m. ET, and one witness said to be there is retired Navy Rear Adm. Timothy Gallaudet, who has spoken about his experiences with UAPs and unexplained submerged objects.

 

A full witness list has not been released, and in previous hearings, witnesses have expressed fears of intimidation or stigma associated with speaking openly about UAPs.

The Defense Department has repeatedly denied that there are secret UFO or UAP programs in existence, though it did admit to plans for the Kona Blue program, which would have reverse-engineered UAP technology.

 

According to the Pentagon, the program was never stood up because no such technology was ever recovered.

A report from the department’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) said that most UAP reports were cases of mistaken identity involving drones or top-secret technology.

The office said there is no evidence that UAPs are alien in nature.

 

Following last year’s initial public hearing, a bipartisan group of lawmakers has continued to have closed-door hearings on the subject, expressing frustration at the lack of transparency around UAPs.

Recent reporting from independent journalist Michael Shellenberger revealed the existence of a whistleblower report that names, for the first time, an alleged Pentagon UAP program: Immaculate Constellation.

The individual whistleblower in that report has not been identified, and it is not clear if they will be among the witnesses in the upcoming hearing.

Information warfare campaigns designed by the U.S. government to target Americans with the aim of splitting them apart from their countrymen through weaponized falsehoods are rooted in new methods of shaping and controlling the online communities that many Americans trust to interpret the world around them. From Russiagate to COVID-19 to Jan. 6, the newness and force of these campaigns has knocked the country senseless, with the left readily acclimating itself to third-world norms, and large parts of the right increasingly hopeless.

 

What the right has learned from a decade of information warfare targeting it is to distrust the media. It’s another information operation designed to disorient and demoralize the America First camp. This time, however, there’s a big difference—an influential segment of the right is amplifying the left’s campaign against them.

 

The left claims that America is a fraud at its origins, a racist hoax perpetrated against nonwhites to this very day. The left tears down monuments, desecrates our heroes, replaces our holidays, and rewrites our history to suit their pathological grievances. It’s a whole-of-party effort to force the middle class to our knees in despair, so that the country’s ruling class and the oligarchs can continue running their high-tech monopolies while defunding police forces and opening the borders to depress wages, impoverish communities, and terrorize families.

 

But now, the right is in danger of transitioning into the left. Maybe it shouldn’t be surprising that amid the ruins, some of those capitalizing on the chaos and preying on the shell-shocked are themselves from the right. A year ago, for example, right-wing influencer Jackson Hinkle sounded like a normal Trump voter. After Biden delivered his infamous Philadelphia speech accusing his political opponents of terrorism, Hinkle called him a dictator, and said he was plunging us into fascism at the behest of George Soros and Klaus Schwab while using the intelligence agencies to target freedom-loving Americans. Most of that is true.

 

Today, however, Hinkle’s Twitter feed looks like nothing more than a Soros-funded operation, pumping out reports every hour enticing clicks via the eternal threat that is antisemitism, and promoting actual America-hating terrorists in the process. On May 20, 2024, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, submitted a request to the ICC for warrants to arrest Israeli leaders Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including extermination.

Could UAP Save Us from Ourselves?

Today, I hosted two academic professionals, Andrew Simmons from Washington DC and Lourdes German from Cambridge MA, who confessed that they had been following my search for extraterrestrial artifacts over the past few years.

They asked me how I came to pursue this search. I explained that my interest was triggered by the discovery of the first astronomical object from outside the Solar system, `Oumuamua on October 19, 2017.

This 100-meters-size object was anomalous in its inferred pancake-like shape and non-gravitational acceleration with no sign of evaporation. In short, `Oumuamua did not resemble familiar asteroids or comets from the Solar system.

 

`Oumuamua’s wake-up call revealed a research opportunity that I never encountered before in the preceding thirty years of my academic career.

The search for extraterrestrial artifacts could carry huge implications for the future of humanity but is largely abandoned by the scientific community.

Other transformative themes, like the search for the unknown nature of dark matter, often have a long history and are crowded with many competing practitioners.

 

This means that the prospects for making a unique contribution to their knowledge base is small. However, here was a research path not taken, to which I can make a major contribution.

My training was in theoretical physics, but I was willing to lead the experimental Galileo Project, aimed to collect evidence that could guide us towards a better understanding of our cosmic neighborhood.

 

The general public resonated with my agenda and was extremely interested in my research.

Paradoxically, the more attention I received from the world outside academia, the more intense were the push back and personal attacks I received from science popularizers, reporters, social media influencers or jealous scientists, who pretended to `defend’ science.

Their attempts to suppress the scientific collection of evidence through the Galileo Project reflected an anti-science bias, which is meant to protect cherished beliefs from the burden of attending to anomalies.

Andrew and Lourdes asked why is this research area avoided by the academic mainstream?

 

I reasoned that the public is definitely intrigued by the possibility that some Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) near Earth may reflect extraterrestrial technologies.

Surely, members of academia are drawn from the public, so deep down many of them must share this sentiment.

However, because of stigma they never discuss it openly. Paradoxically, the stigma is promoted by members of the SETI community who banned discussions about UAP in their conferences.

I started in an academic culture of chess players,’ where considering new possible signatures of dark matter is rewarded, but now I find myself amongmud wrestlers’ who resist thinking outside the box.

They prefer to speculate that the anomalies of interstellar objects like `Oumuamua represent rocks of a type that we had never seen before but at the same time dismiss artificial interpretations as speculative.

Some of them ignore the vast collection of papers which attempted — with serious difficulties — to explain `Oumuamua’s anomalies, and suggest to forget the anomalies and move on.

They miss the fundamental lesson from the history of science that revolutionary knowledge first appears in the form of anomalies.

As of now, the academic gates in the search for technological signatures of extraterrestrial civilizations are occupied by gatekeepers who tolerate unsuccessful searches for radio signals but ban a possible technological interpretation of the anomalies exhibited by interstellar objects like `Oumuamua.

 

Whether the U.S. government has classified data on UAP that indicates an extraterrestrial origin will be discussed at the congressional hearing to be held next Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Andrew and Lourdes asked me how would the academic community respond to disclosure of related government data, if it exists?

 

In response, I quoted Arthur Schopenhauer, who wisely stated: “All truth passes through three stages.

First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.” Based on my experience, I added a fourth stage: “Finally, the early critics claim that they were first to propose it.”

As a scientist leading the Galileo Project, I wish to collect as much data as possible so that my critics will have no way out but to admit that at least one of the anomalous objects in our sky is of extraterrestrial technological origin.

But I am not delusional. If other astronomers will use the Rubin Observatory and the Webb telescope to conclude that a new object like Oumuamua is artificial in origin, they would still insist thatOumuamua could have been a natural rock.

This would constitute their version of the fourth stage.

 

Nevertheless, I am at peace with Schopenhauer’s forecast. What really matters is the knowledge that humanity will gain from a superhuman intelligence, including its technologies and scientific insights.

If we had the benefit of surveying all the inhabited planets in the ten-billion-year history of the Milky-Way, we could have found evidence for past civilizations that perished billions of years ago by self-inflicted wounds or natural catastrophes.

This knowledge would have allowed us to avoid their mistakes. Instead, by staying at our current vantage point and looking around, we could learn from the most accomplished civilizations which managed to reach us with their technological products.

This local search would be most effective if government agencies and private donors funded it on a larger scale. Without searching, we will surely not find anything.

Likely, this has been covered, but here we go. Are anons familiar with Clif HighEPSW YouTube? He does some sort of esoteric analysis of words used on the internet as predictior of future events. In 2009, he “saw” the Temporal Marker of the Trump Rogan podcast. Since it didn’t happen pre 2020, and he was fighting cancer, he forgot about it. Well, when it happened recently, a person that helped him with the analysis reminded him.

Pope Francis declined to see Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who is demanding a harder Vatican line on China. The Holy See said meeting just before a U.S. election would be inappropriate.

ROME — Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently published a sharp letter excoriating the Vatican’s plans to renew an agreement with the Chinese government on Church operations in China. He promoted the article in a tweet, concluding, “The Vatican endangers its moral authority, should it renew the deal.”

 

An indignant Vatican took the article more as a calculated affront than a diplomatic gesture. The friction broke into the open on Wednesday as Mr. Pompeo arrived in Rome and met with prelates and others who are hostile to Pope Francis, while the Vatican denied him a meeting with the pontiff and rebuffed his efforts to derail the deal with China.

 

“Pompeo asked to meet” the pope, who turned him down because Francis had “clearly said that he does not receive political figures ahead of the elections,” Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who, as secretary of state, is the Vatican’s second-ranking official, told reporters.

 

But to some observers on both sides of the tensions between the Roman Catholic Church and the Trump administration, Mr. Pompeo’s visit is as much about the coming presidential election as about China policy. Mr. Pompeo dismissed that suggestion as absurd, but intended or not, his trip signals that President Trump is on the side of those conservative American Catholics who worry about the church’s direction under Francis and think he is soft on China.

 

Francis and Mr. Trump, who have exchanged sharp words in the past, present starkly different visions on issues ranging from the environment to immigration to the threat of populism. In appealing to the Vatican’s support for religious freedom as a reason to drop its China agreement, Mr. Pompeo seemed to seek common ground, but in a way that upset the pope’s chief allies and delighted his chief critics.

 

Cardinal Parolin said Mr. Pompeo’s article had caused “surprise” at the Vatican, because this visit to Rome by the secretary and the meetings with high officials at the Holy See had already been in the works and would have been a “more opportune” forum for airing grievances. He added that Mr. Pompeo’s choice to publish in First Things, a conservative Christian magazine that has called Francis a failure as Pope, also mattered.

China's 'Shock' Statement: Palestinians Have Right To Use 'Armed Force' Against Israel

China has backed the right of the Palestinian people to use armed force to combat Israel's occupation of their land, calling it an "an inalienable right well founded in international law".

The comments on Thursday were made by the Chinese ambassador to the UN, Zhang Jun, during the fourth day of public hearings held by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Representatives of 52 countries are addressing the ICJ on Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land.

Beijing’s envoy said there were "various people (who) freed themselves from colonial rule" and they could use "all available means, including armed struggle".

He described the Palestinian use of armed resistance as legitimate and not an act of terrorism.

 

"The struggle waged by peoples for their liberation, right to self-determination, including armed struggle against colonialism, occupation, aggression, domination against foreign forces should not be considered terror acts," Zhang Jun told the court.

 

In his speech, Jun criticized Israeli policies, characterizing them as “oppression that has severely undermined and impeded the exercises and full realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination".

The ICJ’s public hearings, which will be held until February 26, come after a UN General Assembly resolution requesting an ICJ advisory opinion.

The number of states participating in the oral proceedings is the highest of any case since the ICJ's establishment in 1945 and is separate to the more publicized genocide case brought by South Africa. A panel of 15 judges are expected to take about six months to deliberate before issuing an advisory opinion.

Besides China, other countries scheduled to participate in the hearings include Hungary, France, South Africa and Egypt.

International bodies, including the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union will also take part. Israel will not participate but has sent written observations to the court.
