Information warfare campaigns designed by the U.S. government to target Americans with the aim of splitting them apart from their countrymen through weaponized falsehoods are rooted in new methods of shaping and controlling the online communities that many Americans trust to interpret the world around them. From Russiagate to COVID-19 to Jan. 6, the newness and force of these campaigns has knocked the country senseless, with the left readily acclimating itself to third-world norms, and large parts of the right increasingly hopeless.

 

What the right has learned from a decade of information warfare targeting it is to distrust the media. Knowing, for instance, that the Justice Department interfered in the 2016, 2020, and now the 2024 elections, what else is phony? Was 9/11 an inside job after all? What about the moon landing? What haven’t we been lied to about? Our families are real, our kids are real. But what else is there to hold on to? It’s like reaching for a life raft and finding only splinters. Maybe America is fake all the way down.

 

But it’s not, and the right can’t afford to let itself be fooled into despair with so much at stake. The same U.S. government agencies and officials that pushed everything from Russiagate to the Russia bounty story and lied about the origins of COVID-19, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the character of Jan. 6 protests are now warning that Israel’s war against Hamas is likely to drag U.S. forces into WWIII. It’s another information operation designed to disorient and demoralize the America First camp. This time, however, there’s a big difference—an influential segment of the right is amplifying the left’s campaign against them.

 

The left claims that America is a fraud at its origins, a racist hoax perpetrated against nonwhites to this very day. The left tears down monuments, desecrates our heroes, replaces our holidays, and rewrites our history to suit their pathological grievances. It’s a whole-of-party effort to force the middle class to our knees in despair, so that the country’s ruling class and the oligarchs can continue running their high-tech monopolies while defunding police forces and opening the borders to depress wages, impoverish communities, and terrorize families.

 

But now, the right is in danger of transitioning into the left. Maybe it shouldn’t be surprising that amid the ruins, some of those capitalizing on the chaos and preying on the shell-shocked are themselves from the right. A year ago, for example, right-wing influencer Jackson Hinkle sounded like a normal Trump voter. After Biden delivered his infamous Philadelphia speech accusing his political opponents of terrorism, Hinkle called him a dictator, and said he was plunging us into fascism at the behest of George Soros and Klaus Schwab while using the intelligence agencies to target freedom-loving Americans. Most of that is true.

 

Today, however, Hinkle’s Twitter feed looks like nothing more than a Soros-funded operation, pumping out reports every hour enticing clicks via the eternal threat that is antisemitism, and promoting actual America-hating terrorists in the process. Hinkle’s business model?“Subscribe to my X Premium for $3 to help me DEFEAT THE ZIONIST LIES.”

In Tuesday’s episode of Pod Force One, the US president said: “We know Putin and she [Melania] likes him,” adding that he “got along with him very well.”

Jeffrey Epstein’s newly-revealed private calendar showed scheduled meetings with the current CIA director, a college president and attorney who served in the Obama administration, according to a report published Sunday.

 

New documents, which belonged to the rich convicted pedophile and were obtained by The Wall Street Journal, showed planned meetings with a slew of prominent individuals, including now-CIA Director William Burns, Bard College president Leon Botstein, Obama White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler and professor Noam Chomsky.

 

All the scheduled meetings were slated to take place after Epstein was jailed in 2008 on charges of solicitation, including soliciting a minor. WSJ could not prove each scheduled meeting actually took place, and the documents did not reveal the purpose for the meetings.

 

A spokesperson for Burns, who has taken the CIA’s helm since 2021 under the Biden administration, said the nation’s spy chief met with Epstein a decade ago when he was trying to leave the government.

 

"Director Burns recalls being introduced by a mutual friend in Washington, DC, and then met with him once briefly in New York City, about a decade ago as the Director was preparing to leave government service," CIA spokeswoman Tammy Kupperman Thorp said in comment provided to Fox News Digital.

 

"The Director did not know anything about him, other than he was introduced as an expert in the financial services sector and offered general advice on transition to the private sector. The Director does not recall any further contact, including receiving a ride to the airport. They had no relationship."

 

Ruemmler had dozens of meetings with Epstein following her work for the Obama administration and before taking the reins as Goldman Sachs' top lawyer in 2020, according to WSJ. The documents show Epstein was planning on Ruemmler joining him for a trip to Paris in 2015 and another visit to his private island in the Caribbean in 2017.

 

A Goldman Sachs rep told the outlet that Ruemmler had a working relationship with Epstein when she was employed at law firm Latham & Watkins LLP, but did not travel with Epstein. The spokesperson said Epstein introduced Ruemmler to potential legal clients, such as Bill Gates.

 

"Many of Ms. Ruemmler's contacts related to a potential representation involving the Gates Foundation, a representation of the Edmond de Rothschild bank, and other business opportunities," a Goldman Sachs spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Sunday.

"I regret ever knowing Jeffrey Epstein," Ruemmler said, according to WSJ.

 

The Journal reported that the majority of people they spoke to said they met with Epstein for donations or to make powerful connections. Botstein, who has served as Bard College’s president since 1975, said he met with Epstein to try to get him to donate to the liberal arts school.

 

"I was an unsuccessful fundraiser and actually the object of a little bit of sadism on his part in dangling philanthropic support," Botstein told the outlet. "That was my relationship with him."

 

Other prominent figures on the documents included:

Ariane de Rothschild, chief executive of the Swiss private bank Edmond de Rothschild Group; Joshua Cooper Ramo, who at the time served on the boards of Starbucks Corp. and FedEx Corp; former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak; Harvard University professor Martin Nowak; and anthropologist Helen Fisher.

The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade.

New Delhi: Robust security arrangements have been put in place across the national capital ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, with more than 10,000 security personnel being deployed to maintain law and order, Delhi Police officials said on Thursday.

Delhi Police Commissioner SBK Singh has directed special police commissioner (law and order) and deputy commissioners of police to maintain a strict vigil in their respective jurisdictions, they said.

 

A senior police officer said multiple layers of security will be in place at the Red Fort on Independence Day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation.

Apart from physical deployment, surveillance through CCTV cameras, drone detection systems, and facial recognition technology will be used to monitor the venue and surrounding areas, the officer said.

 

Snipers and rooftop surveillance teams will be deployed to secure high-rises near the Red Fort, and movement in designated restricted zones will be strictly regulated through access control mechanisms, the officer added.

Multiple security drills, night patrolling, enhanced foot patrolling, and plain-clothed surveillance teams are being mobilised to strengthen ground presence, especially in sensitive zones, said another officer.

 

"Social media platforms are also being closely monitored by cyber units to detect and neutralise any possible online threats or misinformation campaigns that may disrupt peace," he added.

Over 10,000 security personnel, including paramilitary forces and special commandos, have been assigned for duty during the week-long preparation and on the day of the celebrations, police said.

 

Anti-sabotage checks, vehicle barricading, and verification drives are being intensified in coordination with intelligence agencies, said the officials.

In his first major directive since assuming charge, Delhi Police chief Singh on Saturday issued an order banning the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms such as paragliders, hang-gliders, UAVs, drones, hot air balloons and other remotely piloted aircraft over Delhi skies between August 2 and August 16.

 

"These aerial platforms can be potentially misused by anti-social elements or terrorist outfits for para-jumping or launching airborne attacks, posing a serious threat to public safety, VIP security, and critical installations during the Independence Day celebrations," the order noted.

Singh has instructed all district police units to conduct foot patrolling in markets, metro stations, bus terminals, and other public gathering points. Senior officers have been told to remain on the ground and review the security arrangements personally.

Surprise inspections and flag marches have also been planned across various districts to instil confidence among citizens and deter miscreants, said the officials.

 

They further said that the Delhi Police is working in close coordination with central security agencies and intelligence units to ensure that no loopholes remain in security apparatus during this critical period.

Special teams have been deployed at all major railway stations, inter-state bus terminals, airports, and metro stations for round-the-clock monitoring. Passenger screenings, baggage checks, and random identity verifications have been intensified, the officials said.

King observes Russian drone tech in Moscow

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, on Thursday visited Tochka Kipeniya, a technology and innovation centre in Moscow, as part of his state visit to Russia.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was received by Dimitry Peskov, adviser to the president of the Russian Federation, and Alexey Ponomarev, senior vice-president of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech).

 

Accompanying the King were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who is also the minister-in-attendance, Foreign Ministry secretary general Datuk Seri Amran Mohamed Zin and Malaysian ambassador to Russia Datuk Cheong Loon Lai.

During the hour-long visit, Sultan Ibrahim toured an exhibition showcasing Russian drone technology, where Peskov briefed His Majesty on various technological development initiatives.

The exhibition also featured a wide array of drones designed for diverse applications, highlighting Russia’s growing capabilities in the unmanned aerial systems sector.

6 killed, 10 injured as Israeli drones strikes target eastern Lebanon in latest truce breach

Six people were killed and 10 others wounded Thursday in new Israeli drone strikes in eastern Lebanon, marking a fresh breach of the ceasefire agreement in place since late 2024.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA), citing a Health Ministry statement, said a strike hit a vehicle on the al-Masnaa international road in Bekaa Valley, killing five people and injuring 10 others.

 

Another drone strike killed a Lebanese civilian in the town of Kfar Dan, west of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon.

According to the agency, a man was standing outside his home when he was targeted by the drone. No further details were immediately available.

 

A Syrian national was earlier killed, and two others were injured in an overnight Israeli strike on the town of Deir Siriane in the Marjaayoun district of southern Lebanon, the Health Ministry reported.

The Israeli army also targeted the northern outskirts of Deir Siriane near the Litani River, as well as a garage and bulldozers near residential areas, according to NNA.

 

In a military statement, the Israeli army claimed to have struck Hezbollah infrastructure sites in the attacks.

Israel launched military operations in Lebanon on Oct. 8, 2023, which escalated into a full-scale war by September 2024, killing more than 4,000 people and injuring around 17,000.

 

A ceasefire was reached in November, but Israeli forces have conducted near-daily attacks in southern Lebanon, claiming to target activities of the Hezbollah group.

Under the truce, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by Jan. 26, but the deadline was extended to Feb. 18 after Tel Aviv refused to comply. Israel still maintains a military presence at five border outposts.

China's 'Shock' Statement: Palestinians Have Right To Use 'Armed Force' Against Israel

China has backed the right of the Palestinian people to use armed force to combat Israel's occupation of their land, calling it an "an inalienable right well founded in international law".

The comments on Thursday were made by the Chinese ambassador to the UN, Zhang Jun, during the fourth day of public hearings held by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Representatives of 52 countries are addressing the ICJ on Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land.

Beijing’s envoy said there were "various people (who) freed themselves from colonial rule" and they could use "all available means, including armed struggle".

He described the Palestinian use of armed resistance as legitimate and not an act of terrorism.

"The struggle waged by peoples for their liberation, right to self-determination, including armed struggle against colonialism, occupation, aggression, domination against foreign forces should not be considered terror acts," Zhang Jun told the court.

In his speech, Jun criticized Israeli policies, characterizing them as “oppression that has severely undermined and impeded the exercises and full realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination".

The ICJ’s public hearings, which will be held until February 26, come after a UN General Assembly resolution requesting an ICJ advisory opinion.

The number of states participating in the oral proceedings is the highest of any case since the ICJ's establishment in 1945 and is separate to the more publicized genocide case brought by South Africa. A panel of 15 judges are expected to take about six months to deliberate before issuing an advisory opinion.

Besides China, other countries scheduled to participate in the hearings include Hungary, France, South Africa and Egypt.

International bodies, including the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union will also take part. Israel will not participate but has sent written observations to the court.

An alleged underwater drone has been recovered by local fishermen off Bolinao, Pangasinan waters, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday.

In a statement, PCG spokesperson for West Philippine Sea Commodore Jay Tarriela said the suspected underwater drone was obtained 149 nautical miles northwest off Bolinao on Wednesday.

 

“On August 6, 2025, while engaged in fishing approximately 149 nautical miles northwest off Bolinao, Pangasinan, the fishermen observed a floating orange object believed to be an underwater drone,” Tarriela said.

He said the fishermen, upon returning to port, reported the sighting of the object to the Coast Guard Substation Infanta and submitted a notarized affidavit detailing their discovery. 

 

The suspected underwater drone measures around 160 centimeters in length and 20 inches in width and weighs around 100 kilograms, according to Tarriela.

He said the suspected underwater drone was surrendered to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and analysis.

As of May, at least six underwater drones have been found in Philippine waters. 

 

Philippine Navy spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad earlier said that China possibly deployed some of the recovered submersible drones.

“There is a 55 to 80% likelihood that these were deployed by the Chinese Communist Party,” he said.

 

According to Trinidad, the Philippine Navy has the results for the submersible drones found in Ilocos Norte, Calayan Island, and Misamis Oriental. Many components of these items were made in China.

National Security Council (NSC) spokesperson Jonathan Malaya called the development “alarming,” as the underwater drones were used for intelligence purposes.

 

“These are alarming because, as mentioned by [National Maritime Council spokesperson Undersecretary Alexander Lopez], these are used for intelligence purposes,” Malaya said.

“So this really shows the extent of the operations in the Philippines. We have arrested several, more than 10 agents, Chinese agents in the Philippines, doing different types of espionage activities.

Trump had previously signaled that the duties on chips and semiconductors, which have become key components in virtually every industry, could come as soon as next week.

 

The remarks came after Trump touted a commitment by Apple

Several top chipmakers, including Taiwan Semiconductor, Nvidia

and GlobalFoundries, have already pledged to manufacture some of their products in the U.S.

 

They’re not alone: More than 130 projects in the U.S. totaling $600 billion dollars have been announced since 2020, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association.

 

TSMC, the world’s largest contract chip company, has pledged to invest a total of $165 billion in U.S. manufacturing.

 

Nvidia, the world’s most valuable company, said in April that it plans to spend $500 billion on AI infrastructure in the U.S. over the next four years.

 

GlobalFoundries pledged $16 billion in June to expand its semiconductor manufacturing at facilities in New York and Vermont.

 

Also in June, Texas Instruments announced a $60 billion boost to seven chip fabs in the U.S. The company counts Apple, Ford, Medtronic, Nvidia and SpaceX as customers.

Mysterious ‘orbs’ demand scientific study

President Trump interviewed Air Force pilots who were utterly baffled by the objects. They seem to chase Navy fighter jets and have been captured on radar and video. The Pentagon’s UFO analysis office is perplexed by them.

What is behind the enigmatic “orbs” reported by countless credible observers since at least World War II?

 

The scientific community must abandon the nearly century-long anti-scientific stigma surrounding UFOs — which the Pentagon likes to call “unidentified anomalous phenomena” — and investigate this enduring mystery.

This is especially so since the Pentagon now admits openly that it is baffled by “several dozen” “true anomalies” and “really peculiar” UFO incidents, including some involving unknown “orbs.”

 

On July 24, the Senate confirmed former Air Force fighter pilot Matthew Lohmeier as the under secretary of the Air Force, the department’s second-highest civilian position. While in high school, Lohmeier had a remarkable UFO encounter.

According to Lohmeier, a “ball of light” descended upon him and a friend as they were in the wilderness outside of Tucson, Ariz. The object came so close that Lohmeier recalls that “it seemed to be buzzing with life, but it wasn’t man-made.”

“It was very well-organized, very spherical,” Lohmeier said, “and it seemed to be very conscious of the two of us that were sitting there in the Arizona mountains, like it was observing us … there was a level of interest from the orb to us.” F

Lohmeier is not the only Air Force fighter pilot left baffled by such an object.

In a September appearance on Fox News, Trump stated that he interviewed several Air Force pilots who encountered spherical objects performing extraordinary maneuvers.

According to Trump, the pilots told him, “All I know, sir, there was a round object that was going four times faster than my F-22.”

 

“Four or five guys [that] I’ve interviewed, solid people, great pilots for the U.S. Air Force,” Trump continued, have “seen things that they cannot explain, so there’s something.”

Trump also told podcaster Joe Rogan that the pilots observed objects “like a round ball, but it wasn’t a comet or a meteor.”

 

Timothy Phillips, the former deputy director of the Department of Defense’s UFO analysis office, stated in June that the Pentagon is perplexed by “fiery orbs.”

Such phenomena have been reported since at least World War II. “Balls of Fire Stalk U.S. Fighters” read the headline of a frontpage Jan. 2, 1945, New York Times article describing the mysterious “foo fighters” that toyed with American pilots in the European and Pacific theaters.

 

The late Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), as a wartime transport pilot in Asia, encountered such an object, which conducted extraordinary maneuvers around his plane.

The experience led him to enthusiastically support then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) establishment of a secret Pentagon UFO program in 2008.

A 2017 New York Times story revealing that program spurred a sweeping congressional investigation into the UFO phenomenon.

This led to the introduction of extraordinary legislation and the establishment of the Pentagon’s analysis office.

Beyond frequent appearances of such objects in official documents, “balls of fire” feature prominently in one of the earliest surviving U.S. government UFO assessments.

The 1948 Air Force analysis states that “in most instances, balls of fire have been observed at night.” “Silver balls,” on the other hand, have “been observed in daylight and a number under clear weather conditions with visibility unlimited.”

Not only were observations of strange silver spheres widely reported in the media during World War II and afterwards, but the former director of the Pentagon’s UFO analysis office stated in a 2023 presentation to NASA that the military has tracked “metallic orbs” “all over the world” “making very interesting apparent maneuvers.”

A brief video of such an object accompanied his presentation.

 

More recently, litigation under the Freedom of Information Act forced the public disclosure of footage of a metallic sphere captured by a surveillance aircraft flying over Iraq in 2016.

Similarly, the well-known “GoFast” video, which accompanied the 2017 New York Times article, shows fighter pilots reacting in astonishment as a seemingly spherical object moves over the ocean.

 

The Pentagon debunked the video, but it did so prematurely. Had investigators bothered to interview the aircrew, they would have learned that the “GoFast” UFO was one of four objects flying in “precise” formation 300 miles off the coast of Florida.

This is hardly compatible with the Pentagon’s suggestion that the object was a balloon. Moreover, the incident occurred just minutes before the “Gimbal” event, which resulted in the most recognizable publicly available UFO footage.

 

For his part, Vice President JD Vance says he is “obsessed” with this topic — and the recently released videos in particular.

The two 2015 incidents happened as Navy fighter pilots routinely observed spherical objects demonstrating seemingly physics-defying flight characteristics off the East Coast of the U.S.

Similarly, Navy fighter pilot Jack Stewart described how a “spherical” object rapidly changed direction to follow his jet.

 

But that’s not all. In July 2019, sailors aboard an advanced Navy warship tracked roughly a dozen objects on radar as they swarmed their vessel.

The incident occurred amid months-long UFO incursions, often well over 100 miles off the coast of California.

During the incident, the crew captured infrared video of a spherical object moving against strong winds before descending slowly into the ocean.

A similarly perplexing incident occurred the following day.

 

A rigorous, multidisciplinary scientific investigation of the “orb” phenomenon is long overdue.

Thankfully, a group of trailblazing scientists has begun serious, unbiased work studying UFOs. Some of their initial findings are potentially paradigm-shifting.

UCLA has more than half a billion dollars in funding suspended by Trump administration

 

UCLA is at risk of losing more than half a billion dollars in federal research funds as the Trump administration continues to pressure the school to address allegations of antisemitism on campus.

 

The $584 million dollars in frozen funds that UCLA officials announced Wednesday is the first official tally of what is at stake for the school. The sum is far more than what was initially estimated when the Department of Justice announced last week it was investigating the school for violations of civil rights laws stemming from allegations it has failed to protect Jewish students and faculty from antisemitism.

 

In a school-wide letter sent Wednesday morning and shared with POLITICO, UCLA Chancellor Julio Frenk confirmed the grant money, which is meant to fund hundreds of research projects in a wide array of fields, is “suspended and at risk.”

 

“If these funds remain suspended,” he wrote, “it will be devastating for UCLA and for Americans across the nation.”

 

James Milliken, who recently took over as president of the University of California system, remained tight-lipped about how defiant or conciliatory a posture UC officials plan to take in upcoming talks with Justice officials over the government’s allegations.

 

In a statement, Milliken reiterated that the school had agreed “to engage in dialogue with the federal administration.”

 

“Our immediate goal,” he went on, “is to see the $584 million in suspended and at-risk federal funding restored to the university as soon as possible.”

 

Milliken did push back somewhat against the threat to cut research funding and the idea that UCLA has allowed antisemitism to fester unchecked on campus. “These cuts do nothing to address antisemitism. Moreover, the extensive work that UCLA and the entire University of California have taken to combat antisemitism has apparently been ignored,” he wrote.

 

Frenk also remained non-committal, saying in his letter that “We are doing everything we can to protect the interests of faculty, students and staff — and to defend our values and principles… as we actively evaluate our best course of action.”

 

Looming over the school’s strategy going forward are the fates of other high-profile universities the Trump administration has targeted with similar cases in the wake of tumultuous student protests last year over Israel’s war against Hamas. Columbia University, which faced the loss of $400 million in research grants, opted to negotiate with the administration, eventually agreeing to pay $200 million and make some changes to oversight. Brown University recently took a similar path, agreeing to pay $50 million, while Harvard University, which at first forcefully rebuked the government’s claims, has yet to resolve its case.

 

UCLA came into the Trump administration’s crosshairs after the university agreed last week to a $6.5 million settlement in a lawsuit with Jewish students and a professor, who alleged that the university did not do enough to protect them from harassment and discrimination by pro-Palestinian protesters last year.

 

On the same day, the Department of Justice announced its allegations against the school with Attorney General Pam Bondi threatening that “DOJ will force UCLA to pay a heavy price for putting Jewish Americans at risk and continue our ongoing investigations into other campuses in the UC system.”

 

In an earlier statement, Frenk, whose father was Jewish and fled Nazi Germany, said, “Antisemitism has no place on our campus, nor does any form of discrimination.” He added, “We recognize that we can improve, and I am committed to doing so.”

 

Through the beginning of his second term, President Donald Trump and his administration officials have used the power of the federal government to target his perceived critics and enemies. In addition to going after major universities, the administration has launched investigations into former government officials from past administrations and attacked law firms that have represented clients the president dislikes.

All 93 U.S. medical schools are dramatically lowering standards for minorities

 

Twenty-three medical schools have answered my request, including flagship institutions in states like Tennessee, Wisconsin, Missouri, New Mexico, and Colorado. The data they provided make it clear that schools are at least skirting the Supreme Court’s decision, if not violating it outright.

 

Accepted black applicants had lower average MCAT scores than accepted white or Asian students at all but one school, Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Thirteen schools accepted black students with average MCAT scores lower than the score of the average rejected Asian or white applicant. That suggests black applicants receive significant preferential treatment.

 

In fact, at two schools—Eastern Virginia Medical School and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health—black applicants were about ten times likelier to be accepted than were Asian and white applicants with similar grades and test scores. And Asian students face a conspicuously difficult road to acceptance, despite significantly better credentials on average. At Eastern Virginia, only 3 percent of Asian applicants were admitted in 2024, compared with 11 percent of blacks. At Wisconsin, the divide was even starker: 15 percent of black applicants were admitted, but only 2 percent of Asians were. The rejected Asian students had an MCAT score about 17 percentage points higher than accepted black students, on average.

 

It’s reasonable to ask whether the 23 medical schools that responded to my request are indicative of all 93 public medical schools in America. The answer is likely yes. At least 34 medical schools have publicly released demographic data that broadly show little change in the racial composition of their student bodies since the Court’s ruling. At nine, the shares of “under-represented” students have actually increased. That, too, is a sign that affirmative action continues in medical education.

 

Why wouldn’t medical schools give up on affirmative action? Because they claim a moral imperative to discriminate by race. One of the fundamental tenets of the modern medical establishment is that black doctors are essential to treating, and even saving the lives of, black patients.

 

This belief compels medical schools to admit less qualified black students, but it’s factually baseless. The systematic reviews of the evidence are either deeply flawed or show no benefit to physician-patient race-matching, as a colleague and I have shown. And last year, building on our hypothesis, the Manhattan Institute debunked the foundational study that medical schools have relied on since 2020.

 

That study purported to show that black newborns in Florida were likelier to survive when they had black physicians—a phenomenon the authors attributed to potential “spontaneous bias” from physicians of other races. But the Manhattan Institute’s Robert VerBruggen and George Borjas found that the authors never considered a crucial variable: the newborns’ very low birth weight. Once that was accounted for, the supposed benefits of race-based care disappeared.

 

The evidence hasn’t stopped medical schools from producing results that look like racial discrimination. The Trump administration should immediately investigate every medical school to stop potential violations of federal civil rights laws. States should enact legislation requiring admissions transparency and specific standards at taxpayer-funded schools. That could include mandatory admission for applicants who clear a specific bar on MCAT tests, forcing schools to set the bar high.

And the federal courts must enforce complete compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling in Students for Fair Admission. My organization is committed to holding any violators accountable, including through our class-action lawsuit against UCLA’s medical school, filed earlier this year, on behalf of students denied admission on race-based grounds.

 

Two years after the Supreme Court formally ended affirmative action, medical education seems to be in open revolt against the ruling. Racial discrimination should be eliminated and merit-based education restored, once and for all.

Amazon Web Services gives the Trump admin $1 billion coupon

 

Amazon Web Services is giving the Trump administration a $1 billion coupon to use their services for the federal government’s digital transformation and artificial intelligence capacity. On Thursday, the General Services Administration announced a sweeping “OneGov” agreement with Amazon Web Services that would yield up to $1 billion in cost savings for federal agencies shifting to cloud services.

 

The deal, set to run through 2028, is being framed by administration officials as a cornerstone of both the administration’s AI strategy and its broader effort to modernize government IT systems.

 

The agreement is expected to accelerate cloud adoption across dozens of civilian agencies, support workforce training in AI tools, and establish the technical infrastructure needed to power large language models and machine learning applications. It’s the second major OneGov cloud services deal since President Donald Trump’s executive order on procurement consolidation earlier this year.

 

Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner and DOGE staffer Josh Gruenbaum, who has played a leading role in negotiating the deal, called it “a foundational piece to help implement President Trump’s AI Action Plan.”

 

The deal provides $1 billion in credits that federal agencies can draw down on for core AWS cloud services — which will account for the majority of the $1 billion in value — as well as helping agencies shift from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud and training resources for federal employees.

 

The AWS deal is not exclusive. Similar OneGov agreements are in the works with other major cloud providers, including Microsoft and Google, said a senior administration official familiar with the conversations granted anonymity to discuss them. Oracle also recently signed a deal giving government agencies a 75% discount on Oracle technology.

 

“We’re just getting started,” the senior GSA official said. “This is a first-of-its-kind agreement, and there’s a lot more to come both in the cloud space and across other high-impact industries.”

 

For the administration, it’s a chance to solidify Trump’s AI legacy by laying the groundwork for a long-term transformation of government operations.

 

“Through this new agreement with AWS, federal agencies will be able to enhance delivery of critical services, leverage cloud and advanced AI technologies, and dramatically reduce costs,” said GSA acting Administrator Michael Rigas.

 

For AWS, the partnership deepens its presence in the federal government and provides access to a huge addressable market of $80 to $100 billion dollars in moving government IT infrastructure still stored on their premises to third party cloud-providers.

 

“This landmark agreement marks a significant milestone in the large-scale digital transformation of government services,” said AWS CEO Matt Garman. “As federal agencies adopt advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning, AWS is positioned to not only help them achieve immediate operational efficiencies, but also to build the foundation for a more secure and innovative government of tomorrow.”

 

A notable feature of the deal is its attempt to bypass value-added resellers, encouraging direct contracts between agencies and AWS.

 

“There is a twofold benefit,” Gruenbaum explained. “First, you’re building a direct relationship with the provider, so you can actually pick up the phone and innovate. Second, you save taxpayer dollars by avoiding the 5-7 percent lift in costs that comes from unnecessary middlemen.”

 

The Amazon Web Services partnership includes built-in incentives to favor direct procurement over system integrators, a structural design that reflects the Trump administration’s broader vision of creating “market tension within the federal government itself” by wielding centralized purchasing power.

 

“We wanted to have a deep partnership that has durability and horizon to it, they jumped at it and they set this deal to basically live through this administration,” Gruenbaum said.

Feds to begin patrolling Washington DC starting at midnight

 

The Trump administration is increasing the federal law enforcement presence in Washington, DC, starting Thursday night, the White House said. It comes just days after a well-known former Department of Government Efficiency staffer was assaulted in DC.

 

“President Trump has directed an increased presence of federal law enforcement to protect innocent citizens. Starting tonight, there will be no safe harbor for violent criminals in D.C. President Trump is committed to making our Nation’s capital safer for its residents, lawmakers, and visitors from all around the world,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

 

CNN previously reported that the Trump administration had been making plans to increase federal law enforcement in the nation’s capital.

 

A White House official confirmed to CNN that Thursday’s mobilization will include federal officers in “marked units, and highly visible.”

 

The increased presence begins at midnight as part of a seven-day effort, with the option to extend, the official added.

 

The effort will be led by US Park Police, with participation from US Capitol Police, FBI, US Marshals Service, DC Police, DEA and other agencies.

 

It “will be focused on high-traffic tourist areas and other known hotspots,” according to the official.

 

CNN has reached out to DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office for comment.

 

In announcing the increase, the White House pointed to several high-profile crimes in DC, including the killing of two Israeli Embassy staff members in May.

 

But according to a preliminary year-to-date crime comparison from DC Police, 2025 crime numbers are lower than last year’s. As of Thursday, violent crime is down 26%, according to the DC Police.

 

The White House official added that the actions being taken Thursday night are “in compliance” with the “Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful” executive order the president signed in March.

 

That order aims to ensure that “all applicable quality of life, nuisance, and public-safety laws are strictly enforced,” including crimes involving assault, battery, larceny, graffiti, public intoxication and more.

 

On Wednesday, the president said he is considering having his administration take over the DC Police Department and might deploy the National Guard to DC over recent crime.

 

It was not immediately clear if the National Guard is a part of the Thursday mobilization.

 

“We’re going to beautify the city. We’re going to make it beautiful. And what a shame, the rate of crime, the rate of muggings, killings and everything else. We’re not going to let it, and that includes bringing in the National Guard maybe very quickly too,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.

 

Earlier this year, Trump said that the federal government should “take over” DC.

 

“I think that we should govern District of Columbia. It’s so important, the DC situation. I think that we should run it strong, run it with law and order,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One in February.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, a spokesperson for Lucasfilm, whose parent company is Disney, confirmed that the legal back-and-forth over Carano's firing from the Star Wars Disney+ series has been settled.

 

"The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies," the spokesperson said in a statement to PEOPLE.

 

"Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect," the statement continues. "With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future."

 

"I have come to an agreement with Disney/Lucasfilm which I believe is the best outcome for all parties involved." she began. "I hope this brings some healing to the force."

 

"I want to extend my deepest most heartfelt gratitude to Elon Musk, a man I've never met, who did this Good Samaritan deed for me in funding my lawsuit," she continued, thanking Musk "for backing my case and asking for nothing in return."

 

Carano went on to thank her lawyers, God, and her followers for sticking by her side.

Earlier in the day, Carano took to the social media platform with a cryptic message, writing, "… and the truth shall set you free."

 

The major inciting incident saw Carano sharing a post from another account that seemingly compared the treatment of conservatives in the U.S. during the COVID pandemic to that of Jewish people during Nazi-era Germany.

 

This came after the actress changed her social media bio to read "beep/bop/boop" — which some believed was an insensitive reference to preferred pronouns, which are often included on profile pages.

 

Carano reiterated in multiple posts that she was "not against trans lives at all" and that including "beep/bop/boop" had "zero to do with trans people."

 

Because of these instances, there were calls for Carano to be removed from the Star Wars franchise, with the hashtag "#FireGinaCarano" trending.

 

Lucasfilm confirmed in February 2021 that Carano was "not currently employed … and there are no plans for her to be in the future."

 

"Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable," the company added at the time.

 

Disney, the parent company of Lucasfilm, argued in a motion filed in April 2024 that the company had a First Amendment right to fire Carano, stating in the filing — which called for the dismissal of Carano's lawsuit — that Disney has "a constitutional right not to associate its artistic expression with Carano's speech."

 

Elsewhere in the filing, Disney said it fired Carano due to her social media posts "blaming pandemic-related closure orders and vaccine mandates for causing widespread suicides and murders, attacking the legitimacy of the 2020 Presidential election, and mocking people who identify their pronouns to show support for transgender rights."

 

The company's "final straw," however, was a repost in which they accused Carano of having "publicly trivialize[d] the Holocaust by comparing criticism of political conservatives to the annihilation of millions of Jewish people," according to the filing.

Major hotel chain faces backlash for allegedly outsourcing check-ins — to India

 

A Miami hotel is facing backlash over a viral video that claims the front desk was staffed by an outsourced worker to welcome new guests during the check-in process.

 

In the video, a guest who booked a stay at a La Quinta by Wyndham was welcomed by a tall screen displaying a virtual front-desk employee — who allegedly was in India.

 

“Do you need one room key or two room key?” the worker can be heard asking in the video, which has more than 2 million views since being posted on Saturday.

 

The guest replies: “Two, just in case I lose one.”

 

The hotel customer then signs a form on the screen using their finger.

 

The interaction led social media users to slam the hotel chain for outsourcing jobs to overseas workers.

 

“More American jobs outsourced overseas. At some point this should just become illegal. If you make money in America, you should hire Americans,” one user wrote in a post on X.

 

Another sniped: “What hotel, so I can be sure to avoid it?”

 

Some frustrated users even called on President Trump to target the practice by slapping tariffs on US-based companies that outsource jobs to overseas staffers.

 

A spokesperson for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which owns La Quinta Inn, told The Post that it just learned about the matter and is actively investigating the situation.

 

“This is a franchised location, meaning the hotel is independently owned and operated, and as such, we don’t control staffing. That said, this franchisee’s use of this equipment is not brand approved nor is it being marketed to other franchisees,” a spokesperson told The Post in a statement.

 

“Further, our brand standards require hotels to have a team member physically stationed at the front desk at all times.”

 

The chain has several La Quinta locations in the Miami area.

 

It’s unclear how widespread the practice of outsourced virtual front-desk employees is at La Quinta hotels and other chains.

 

Wyndham does offer mobile check-in for some guests, according to its website.

 

A video posted to YouTube in February appears to show the same large tablet screen being used by an outsourced worker in a Wyndham hotel in Bonita Springs, Fla.

 

“I checked into a hotel by talking to a man on a screen in the entryway. I scanned my ID, swiped my credit card, and the machine provided me a key,” the user who posted the video wrote in the caption.

 

Another social media user said they had a similar experience with a virtual front-desk employee at a hotel in Dublin.

 

“Honestly, it was a lot quicker than dealing with front desk staff, and it prints out your keycard,” the hotel guest wrote in a post online.

 

Meanwhile, a hotel in Amsterdam allegedly used a fully automated check-in process, where guests fill out a form on an iPad, take a key card from a pile and tap it on a reader to activate it, according to another user on X.

 

“There’s really no reason for these jobs at all in today’s age,” they added.

The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade.

Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America?

Is it purely a hatred of “TRUMP?” What other reason could it be?

I was new to Washington, and it was suggested that I useThe Federalist Societyas a recommending source on Judges.

I did so, openly and freely, but then realized that they were under the thumb ofa real “sleazebag” named Leonard Leo, a bad person who, in his own way, probably hates America, and obviously has his own separate ambitions.

He openly brags how he controls Judges, and even Justices of the United States Supreme Court — I hope that is not so, and don’t believe it is!
