US Rebukes Gustavo Petro, Calls Colombian Leader ‘Illegal Drug Dealer’

 

The White House has responded to remarks made by Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who recently criticized the United States and allies over military actions in the Caribbean that have killed dozens as part of what the U.S. government has described as strategic strikes on narcotics traffickers.

 

A total of 22 vessels have been struck by U.S. forces since September, resulting in at least 83 deaths, according to CBS News. President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth have defended the U.S. response to “narco-traffickers” who they claim aspire to bring illegal drugs into the mainland.

 

“As President [Donald] Trump stated, Colombia President Gustavo Petro is an illegal drug leader strongly encouraging the massive production of drugs, despite large-scale payments and subsidies from the USA that are nothing more than a long term ripoff of America,” a White House official told Military.com.

 

'Despotic' Behavior

Petro, in remarks made Sunday on social media, said that Mexico and Colombia respect each other and that Latin America and the Caribbean respect each other.

 

He said he previously proposed to General John Aquilino, former commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, that “a meeting of the governments of the United States, China, Mexico and Colombia should now be included in Ecuador, Chile and Australia to analyze a treaty towards a Pacific without illegalities”.

“Trafficking in fentanyl precursors, cocaine, contraband and weapons must be analyzed and treated together,” Petro wrote. “The impositions here only serve the mafias. I propose the same meeting again.”

 

The Colombian president since 2022 discouraged the U.S. from continued threats against the Caribbean, Mexico and his native country, calling such military actions “despotic” and insinuating they “serve no purpose.”

 

“May US Homeland Security not end up aiding the mafias,” he added.

 

White House Response

The White House retorted, defending its military stance while criticizing Petro and the state of his own government.

 

“Despite billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars invested in Colombia’s counterdrug efforts, cartels are thriving under Petro’s failed policies,” the White House official told Military.com. “It is hardly surprising that President Petro is opposed to President Trump’s successful operations to halt the flow of drugs to our country.”

Major Carrier in Place

There was what some viewed as military escalation on Sunday, when the U.S. deployed its nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford—the world’s largest aircraft carrier—to the Caribbean Sea, under control of U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), which runs operations in the region.

 

"Through unwavering commitment and the precise use of our forces, we stand ready to combat the transnational threats that seek to destabilize our region,” Adm. Alvin Holsey, commander of SOUTHCOM, said in a statement on Sunday. “The USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group's deployment represents a critical step in reinforcing our resolve to protect the security of the Western Hemisphere and the safety of the American Homeland.”

 

Questions remain about increased warfare in the region, including such attacks not being approved by members of Congress as has traditionally been customary.

 

New reporting from NPR states that in February, at an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces conference at the Justice Department's National Advocacy Center on the University of South Carolina campus, then-acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove said that drug-fueled maritime interdiction was unnecessary and that the U.S. should "just sink the boats.”

Presidential Message on the Anniversary of the Gettysburg Address

Today, our Nation marks the 162nd anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, the brief yet immortal speech through which President Abraham Lincoln transformed a battlefield of sacrifice into a hallowed testament to our enduring principles and the nation built to defend them. In honoring that day of solemn dedication, we reflect on what it means to be a country united by liberty, tested by conflict, and strengthened by the conviction that our best days will always lie ahead.

 

In July of 1863, a fierce battle that determined the fate of our Union unfolded in the hills and fields of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Top Dem Speechwriter Says Young Jews’ Empathy for Gaza Shows Holocaust Education Has Backfired

“Holocaust education is too successful, it made the kids anti-holocaust while Israel is trying to do one,” quipped one prominent critic.

 

A speechwriter for prominent Democrats including former President Barack Obama and presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and John Kerry faced widespread outrage this week after video emerged of her blaming Holocaust education for young Jews’ empathy for Palestinians in Gaza and revulsion at Israel’s genocidal war there.

 

Earlier this week, Sarah Hurwitz—who was also a senior speechwriter for former First Lady Michelle Obama and other Democrats—spoke at the opening plenary of this year’s Jewish Federations of North America general assembly in Washington, DC. The event featured speakers including Free Press staff writer Olivia Reingold, who implicitly attempted to absolve Israel from blame for the Gaza famine by noting that 12 of the at least 463 Palestinians who starved to death had preexisting health conditions.

“There have been huge shifts in America on how people think about Jews and Israel, and I think that is especially true of young people,” Hurwitz said during the panel discussion, noting the rise of social media as a primary source of news and information.

 

“Today, we have social media,” she added “Its algorithms are shaped by billions of people worldwide who don’t really love Jews.”

 

Hurwitz continued:

 

It’s also this increasingly post-literate media. Less and less text, more and more videos, so you have TikTok just smashing our young peoples’ brains all day long with video of carnage in Gaza. And this is why so many of us can’t have a sane conversation with younger Jews, because anything we try to say to them, they are hearing it through this wall of carnage. So I wanna give data and information and facts and arguments and they are just seeing in their minds carnage, and I sound obscene.

“I think, unfortunately, the very smart… bet we made on Holocaust education to serve as antisemitism education, in this new media environment, I think that is beginning to break down a little bit, because Holocaust education is absolutely essential,” Hurwitz asserted.

 

“But I think it may be confusing some of our young people about antisemitism, because they learn about big, strong Nazis hurting weak, emaciated Jews,” she added, “…so when on TikTok all day long they see powerful Israelis hurting weak, skinny Palestinians, it’s not surprising that they think, ‘Oh, I know, the lesson of the Holocaust is you fight Israel, you fight the big powerful people hurting the weak people.’”

 

Reaction to Hurwitz’ remarks ranged from incredulity to anger.

 

“I am almost literally speechless,” American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee nation legal director Jenin Younes said on X. “She’s decrying the fact that kids’ takeaway from Holocaust education has been that we must protect helpless people from powerful people killing them. The real lesson from the Holocaust, it seems, is that Israel must be able to commit genocide if it wants to.”

 

Argentinian economist Maia Mindel also took to X, writing that it is “extremely grim that a substantial number of very influential people seem to think that the lesson from the Holocaust isn’t ‘mass murder of civilians based on their ancestry so your nation can take their land is wrong’ but rather, ‘Fuck you, got mine.’”

Jewish Currents editor-at-large Peter Beinart wrote on X that “the level of condescension” in Hurwitz’s commentary “is quite remarkable.”

 

Writer Bryce Greene lamented: “We’re at the point where Israels supporters are now claiming that the Holocaust was not bad because it was the powerful attacking the weak.”

 

“No, that would be the wrong lesson from the Holocaust,” he added. “According to them it was only bad because Jews were the victims. Real sick shit.”

 

Independent journalist Ahmed Eldin said on X that “Zionism is so morally bankrupt it sees empathy as a design flaw.”

 

Eldin wrote Wednesday on his Substack that “Hurwitz didn’t slip up—she said the quiet part out loud and exposed the Zionist project for exactly what it is.”

 

“She even admitted that, amidst the carnage, she sounds ‘obscene,’” he noted. “That admission, said almost accidentally, is the closest thing to honesty her worldview will allow: The problem is not the violence of Zionism itself, but the visibility of it. Zionism, as she inadvertently revealed, depends not on morality but on opacity. The ideology requires not less brutality, but simply fewer witnesses.”

 

Moving on to Holocaust education, Eldin wrote:

 

According to Hurwitz, Holocaust curricula have “backfired” because they taught young people that “you fight the big powerful people hurting the weak people.” In her telling, this universal ethical principle—this most basic moral intuition—is the problem.

 

The implication is staggering: the “correct” lesson of the Holocaust, she seems to believe, is not “never again for anyone,” but “never question Israel.” What outrages her is not the suffering of Palestinians but the possibility that young people are recognizing it as suffering.

“A world that is witnessing and seeing Palestinians as human is a world in which Zionism cannot function,” Eldin concluded. “A world that sees the violence cannot romanticize the ideology producing it. Once people witness the truth, the mythology cannot be resuscitated and the propaganda cannot be rehabilitated.”

 

“Israel may be able to flatten Gaza’s buildings, but it cannot rebuild the ignorance it once relied upon,” he added. “The truth is already out

Prosecutors allege that a substantial portion of the misappropriated funds was used as candidate contributions to Cherfilus-McCormick’s 2021 congressional campaign and for the personal benefit of the defendants.

 

The indictment further alleges that Cherfilus-McCormick and Nadege Leblanc, 46, of Miramar, arranged additional contributions using straw donors, funneling other monies from the FEMA-funded Covid-19 contract to friends and relatives who then donated to the campaign as if using their own money.

 

The indictment also charges Cherfilus-McCormick and her 2021 tax preparer David K. Spencer, 41, of Davie, with conspiring to file a false federal tax return. According to the indictment, they falsely claimed political spending and other personal expenses as business deductions and inflated charitable contributions in order to reduce her tax obligations.

U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida stated, “Today’s indictment shows no one is above the law. Becerra most recently served as President Biden's Health and Human Services Secretary and is running for California governor.

Other suspects include Sean McCluskie, the former Chief of Staff for Xavier Becerra. He also served with Becerra when he was California Attorney General.

 

Then there is Greg Campbell, a close associate of Williamson and a well-connected lobbyist and consultant who rakes in campaign finance from massive corporate clients. He has worked as senior staff for the last five Assembly Speakers including in the role of chief of staff to Speakers Toni G. Atkins and John A. Perez.

 

And Alexis Podesta (no relation to John Podesta). She has not yet been charged with any crimes, and her attorney said she is cooperating with the investigation. Podesta is a Sacramento-based political consultant who served as a secretary under Gov. Jerry Brown. She is also a member of the board of the state compensation fund. She has worked for PG&E and Disney, and is listed as a managing director and member of The Collaborative, the group led by Campbell and Williamson.

Okay, further information on how to keep our bodies clean and clear from adversarial magnetic nanotechnology, e.g. a thrombic agent that is covert murdering non-CCP engineers and computer chip, electronics and silicon experts.

 

I have been doing salt baths in an Epsom salt with essential oil eucalyptus and menthol which is working to remove the magnetic nanotechnology dosed into me. However, there is still a tough spot and region in my vagus nerve system that has some very difficult to remove magnetic nanotechnology. Yesterday, I tested out sodium bicarbonate that (NaHCO3) dissolves in water, breaking down into sodium ions (Na+) and bicarbonate ions (HCO3-) and is the primary ingredient in Arm & Hammer. I dosed the sodium bicarbonate on left side of the bath tub and the magnetic nanotech was repelled and moved to the right side of the bath tub within several seconds. I was only able to pull out my smart phone camera after it moved, but the video here shows the clear water on left and cloud of nanotech gew on right that is repelled by the sodium bicarbonate on left side of bath tub. I have been able to remove the magnetic nanotech with solvent menthol into Epsom salt (the sulfur helps bind, fragment and capture it with the sodium chloride). Then by adding sodium bicarbonate the captured magnetic nanotech in salt is actively repelled.

A review of phone records showed that Greene had a Reddit account that followed communities for “bodymods” and “scarification,” the complaint said.

On July 30, the FBI visited the studio in Pennsylvania and obtained a consent form signed by Greene with a copy of her New Jersey driver’s license that she allegedly provided the day of the reported attack, according to the complaint.

The FBI also obtained the receipt showing that Greene allegedly paid the studio $500 cash, as well as photos the artist took of his work on Greene’s body.

The photos showed the cuts made by the artist matched the cuts photographed at the hospital, the complaint said.
