Aliens Would Be 'Pretty Disappointed' By Human Lust For War, Harvard Physicist Claims

Harvard physicist Avi Loeb said aliens would likely be disappointed by humanity's obsession with conflict.

'If I were looking at Earth from a distance, I would be pretty disappointed,' Loeb said. He points to how humans prioritise conflict over progress.

'Most of our investing is dealing with conflicts to prevent other people from killing us or us killing others,' he explained.

 

The statement is timely in light of the ongoing US-Iran crisis, but Loeb specifically cites the Ukraine war as evidence of poor judgment.

'Look at the Ukraine war over a little bit of territory. That is not a sign of intelligence,' he remarked. 'They might be laughing at us. They might be watching us … to make sure we will not become predators, that we will not become dangerous to them.'

As director of Harvard's Institute for Theory & Computation, Loeb heads the Galileo Project. This initiative searches for signs of extraterrestrial technology amid rising UFO interest.

Two-thirds of Americans believe that intelligent life exists on other planets, the Daily Star reported.

 

UFOs Do Exist, Says Science Expert

Bill Diamond, president and CEO of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, isn't ruling out the remote possibility of aliens on other planets.

'We don't want to think this is the only place in this extraordinarily and incomprehensibly large universe where life and intelligence and even technology have emerged,' he said.

 

Diamond added that he's certain UFOs exist, but to assume these as extraterrestrial by default is a stretch.

'People observe things in the sky that they can't immediately identify or recognise as either human engineering such as planes or drones or helicopters, or animals, such as birds, and therefore they don't know what they are,' he asserted.

There's been mounting interest in UFOs in recent years, spurred by the 2022 congressional hearing on the subject. In July 2023, military intelligence officials testified to a House subcommittee about the US government's knowledge of unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAPs.

 

US Government Has Alien Craft, Says Military Expert

Retired Rear Adm. Timothy Gallaudet claimed there's strong evidence UAPs have the technology to move through US airspace and oceans. 'The nonhuman intelligence that operates them or controls them are absolutely real. We've recovered crashed craft,' he stated.

'We are just not sure of what they are and what they intend to do with their interaction with humanity. That could be a national security threat, or not,' he added. 'Whether it be scary, harmful or not, or a mix, I think seeking the truth is in our best interest.'

 

Donald Trump's Stance on the UFO Debate

President Donald Trump recently ordered the release of UFO data due to public demand. This move follows former President Barack Obama's comments that aliens are 'real,' though not hidden at Area 51.

NASA's Artemis II launched this week. The ten-day mission intends to do a close approach to the moon and a lunar flyby, also to test how its human crew performs with the Orion spacecraft's systems.

The mission also provides a privileged perspective of what Earth looks like from a distance, similar to how extraterrestrials might see it from outer space.

Iran has shot down a U.S. fighter jet, per Iranian media and a source familiar with the incident, and a search and rescue effort is underway to locate two crew.

 

The big picture: It would be the first time since the beginning of the war that a U.S. jet was downed by enemy fire.

 

The U.S. military and the White House didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

 

Driving the news: On Friday, Iranian state media published pictures and videos that allegedly show parts of the downed plane and one of the ejection seats.

Maritime torts include injuries to persons,1 damages to property arising out of collisions or other negligent acts,2 product liability suits,3 and violent dispossession of property.4 Cases involving tort claims fall within admiralty jurisdiction when two requirements are met: (1) the commission or consummation of the act that gives rise to the claim occurs on navigable waters;5 and (2) the tort bears a significant relationship to traditional maritime activity.6

 

The first requirement for admiralty jurisdiction, which is based on the location of the incident, is satisfied if the tort arises on the high seas or on other navigable waters of the United States.7 Prior to Congress’s enactment of the Extension of Admiralty Jurisdiction Act of 1948, the Supreme Court had held that some claims arising from injury or damage to property caused by a vessel on navigable waters did not fall within admiralty jurisdiction when they were consummated on land (e.g., collision of a ship with a bridge).8 In the Extension Act,9 Congress enlarged admiralty jurisdiction to encompass many of these claims. The Court implicitly upheld that expansion of admiralty jurisdiction as within constitutional limits10 when determining that the jurisdiction ecompassed a tort that arose when a longshoreman slipped on loose beans that spilled from negligently packed cargo on a dock during a vessel’s unloading.11 In addition to Congress’s expansion of admiralty jurisdiction, the Court has maintained a few historical exceptions to a strict situs test for maritime jurisdiction.12 However, even with such congressional and judicial guidance, it may occasionally be difficult to distinguish maritime torts from land-based torts. For example, the Court held that admiralty jurisdiction did not extend to an injury caused by defective pier-based equipment that a dock worker suffered when unloading a vessel; thus, the worker had to resort to state law for a remedy.13

New details are emerging about the dramatic rescue of a U.S. airman shot down over Iran, revealing a complex, high-stakes operation involving the CIA and elite special operations forces racing against time to prevent his capture.

 

The incident began on Friday, when a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down roughly 200 miles inside Iranian territory. Both crew members ejected, but while one was quickly recovered, the other — a weapons systems officer — was left stranded in a remote, mountainous region.

 

For nearly two days, the injured airman hid in rugged terrain as Iranian forces, militias and drones searched for him. Officials say he managed to climb thousands of feet despite his injuries, eventually reaching a position where he could briefly communicate.

Initial rescue attempts were unsuccessful. Helicopters took fire and were forced to withdraw, while mechanical and terrain challenges complicated efforts to establish a staging area.

 

Ultimately, a third attempt succeeded. Small aircraft carrying elite commandos — including members of SEAL Team 6 — reached the airman and extracted him under fire.

 

To prevent sensitive technology from falling into Iranian hands, U.S. forces destroyed several aircraft left behind during the mission.

Others pushed the criticism further, arguing that Trump’s threat to hit Iranian power plants and bridges was not just rash but criminal. Marjorie Taylor Greene said this was not what Trump promised voters in 2024, called the war unprovoked, and said Christians in the administration should be trying to stop him.

 

What Trump’s Critics Get Wrong

The criticism that this is some shocking deviation from what Trump campaigned on is weak.

 

Michael Tracey made that point in response to Greene, arguing that she was in fact getting precisely what she voted for in 2024.

 

He linked back to a September 2024 speech in which Trump threatened to blow Iran to “smithereens”.

 

We may disagree with Tracey’s use of “deranged,” but he is right on the more important point: Trump has been consistent for a long time on the central issue of not allowing Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. The White House lists 74 examples of Trump hammering this point, from 2011 to 2026, including multiple times during the 2024 campaign, e.g.,

“Student IDs no longer valid for voting under new NH law”

 

College students in New Hampshire will no longer be able to use their student identification cards to vote, according to a new law signed by Gov. Kelly Ayotte.

 

Championed by State House Republicans, House Bill 323 allows residents to vote only with a government-issued ID, building on a growing number of voting restrictions enacted over the past few years.

 

College students with a U.S. passport or state-issued driver’s license will still be able to vote, but out-of-state students who consider the state their primary residence but lack official forms of ID won’t be able to cast ballots.

 

Some supporters celebrated that the law could stop out-of-state college students, a demographic that tends to lean left politically, from influencing state elections.

Ahmed al-Sharaa's Downing Street visit offered him a reunion with the British intel operatives who groomed the former Al Qaeda warlord to become president of Syria.

 

When Syria's "interim" leader Ahmed al-Sharaa touched down in London on March 31, he was given a much warmer welcome than many once thought possible. As the longtime leader of Syria's Al-Qaeda branch, the US had been offering a $10 million bounty for information on his location just 15 months prior. British intelligence had been working towards this day for almost two decades. The path for al-Sharaa's rule was cleared by MI6 after years of mentoring under Jonathan Powell, who now serves as National Security Advisor to Starmer. The time had come for Britain to formally anoint its Syrian puppet.

 

The ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran, and the Strait of Hormuz's closure, were reportedly at the top of Starmer and al-Sharaa's agenda. In May 2025, as al-Sharaa's death squads massacred Alawites and other ethnic and religious minorities, US President Donald Trump received his Syrian counterpart in the oval office, where he gifted him a bottle of Trump-branded cologne. The BBC acknowledged this development would have been "unthinkable just months ago."

 

Al-Sharaa took the next steps in January 2026, when he signed an unpopular US-brokered accord with Israel, which former Syrian President Bashar Assad had steadfastly refused to endorse for decades.

 

The impacts of the deal were immediately visible. As Al-Sharaa's forces swept through Kurdish territory in north east Syria, the Kurds' erstwhile Israeli backers refused to intervene, and US envoy Tom Barrack publicly declared that the American partnership with the Kurds had "expired."

 

Within weeks, al-Sharaa's forces wrested control of the country's wheat and oil-producing areas, which had been under US-led occupation for years. Though Syria and Israel have yet to formally normalize relations, al-Sharaa describes relations between the countries as "good." Today, Syria's airspace and ground territory is routinely used by Israel and its Western sponsors to wage war on Iran.

 

Though the rapid transition took many by surprise, the campaign to re-establish Western control over Syria was actually set in motion years ago.

In the video, titled "SNL Cast Test How Well They Know Each Other," Fineman asked her co-stars to guess what job she was fired from and later rehired. Revealing the answer, Fineman said, "I was fired as a camp counselor," she said, later adding, "I pantsed a boy."

 

One of her co-stars chimed in, "Oh honey, I think you’re on a list." Fineman said that the 6-year-old boy "wasn’t wearing underpants, and then a giant school bus drove by."

 

She said the young child "would lift my shirt all the time," and attempted to explain it off by saying, "it was a different time." She said, "he would be like, hey can I have a hug?
