Prostitution rings are providing young boys to male customers in Washington and are reportedly selling information about their clients' sexual preferences to foreign intelligence services, a private investigator testified yesterday.

The investigator, Dale Smith, who works for the New York State Senate's Select Committee on Crime, said he had learned that British, Israeli and Soviet agents had bought information from several call services in Washington.

Mr. Smith appeared before the committee at the opening in New York City of a two-day hearing on prostitution among young males and on pornography.

Mr. Smith said that an accountant for five call services had told him about the sale of information to foreign agents. He refused to elaborate on the allegations when questioned by reporters, but the committee counsel, Jeremiah McKenna, said that the information concerned government officials. They're making more money selling information than on the prostitution itself, Mr. McKenna said. Allegations of homosexual sex and drug use on Capitol Hill among Congressmen, pages and other employees have circulated in Washington recently.

Mr. Smith also said that call service operations in Washington have some connection with organized crime in New York. He described how male prostitutes between the ages of 13 and 16 were shuttled between the cities, and were paid from $50 to $250, with younger boys commanding the most.

Earlier, a Washington detective testified that she had uncovered a six-city prostitution network that used 12-year-old boys and allowed customers to pay for sex with credit cards.

The cities involved are Los Angeles, San Francisco, New Orleans, New York, Washington and Houston, said the detective, Anne Fisher of the Washington Metropolitan Police.

I believe it is a major psyop and from what I can tell, it or they or whatever or whoever is “running this op” has done a major disservice.

What I see are a bunch of people sitting and waiting for something to happen instead of doing what I have been calling for now for quite some time (LOCAL ACTION).

The nonsense about trump is still the president and the military is coming to the rescue is just that…nonsense.

I wasn’t belittling Dave (he’s a big boy), I was being brutally honest (like it or not or believe it or not).

Rome is burning Nero and the bucket brigade is getting low on water.

And like it or not (I don’t), we have a person in the WH that is there following a constitutional process…note I didn’t say fair election (which I don’t believe occurred).

Lastly, I so respect your smart statement and most definitely appreciate your support as well as Dave’s (I’m a big fan of X22).

I also appreciate the support by many of the digital soldiers who did and do support me.

Thank you will never be enough. However, I want us to face reality for what it is and it is staring us in the face currently and it is ugly.

Report: Google Billionaire Sergey Brin Said to Be Exiting Capitalism-Hating Mamdani’s NYC Real Estate Market

Google co-founder Sergey Brin has been consistent with his warnings about the move toward socialism in blue states across the country.

 

In April, he warned that California is a prime example of the radical move, as he escalated his opposition to a proposed tax on billionaires.

 

According to The New York Times, Brin has spent about $57 million in recent months backing efforts to defeat the measure, which would impose a one-time five percent tax on billionaires.

 

“I fled socialism with my family in 1979 and know the devastating, oppressive society it created in the Soviet Union,” Brin said in a statement.

 

Now, reports claim that Brin is pulling out of his investments in New York City as Mayor Mamdani and his socialist posse continue to increase their power.

 

According to The New York Post, Brin is reportedly among the many New York City landlords who would rather dump their real estate “for pennies on the dollar” rather than be subject to capitalism-hating Mamdan’s socialist whims.

 

One concern for investors is the rent freeze he pushed and achieved. The freeze impacts rents for rent-stabilized apartments via the Rent Guidelines Board, to which he appointed some of his cronies.

 

The freeze applies to one and two-year leases to “provide relief for tenants amid high living costs,” but does nothing for landlords, especially small ones, who are facing rising expenses like insurance, utilities, property taxes, and maintenance.

 

Per The Post:

 

Amphitheatre LLC, an investment firm affiliated with Brin, last year sold shares in a New York real estate fund that holds nearly 5,900 units back to its manager, A&E Real Estate, according to documents filed in December and earlier reported by Bloomberg.

 

It is unclear how much Brin invested with A&E — which Mamdani called out earlier this year — or how much the group paid to buy it back, though the gross value of his stake in the properties was roughly $79 million, according to records.

 

Although A&E confirmed it bought out a long-term investor, it did not confirm that it was Brin.

 

“The simple and deeply troubling fact for renters is that institutional capital – both equity investors and lenders – are fleeing New York City’s rent stabilized apartment sector,” an A&E spokesperson told The Post.

 

“They understand New York is in a doom loop created in large part by the 2019 Albany rent laws, which handcuff owners’ ability to recoup costs for necessary capital repairs and improvements, coupled with rapidly rising operating expensesand a hostile political establishment determined to freeze the rents no matter the real-life implications for residents,” the spokesperson added.

 

“Absent changes, the city’s working class housing stock will continue to steadily decline.”

How the Iran War Ignited a Clash Between Trump and the Saudi Crown Prince

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pressed President Trump earlier to cripple Iran. But as Iran asserted its power, the prince urged a cease-fire, and is now pursuing his security priorities.

 

President Trump and his military commanders were in a bind.

 

They had announced the start of a new mission to help guide commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran had effectively closed early in the war. U.S. naval and air power would ward off any Iranian attacks during a tentative cease-fire, the commanders said.

 

But U.S. Central Command was caught by surprise when officials from Saudi Arabia said American forces could not use the kingdom’s air space for the mission, which the Pentagon was calling Project Freedom. The Americans had not consulted the Saudis.

 

That set off a flurry of tense and urgent phone calls between Washington and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the leader of Saudi Arabia. An outraged Mr. Trump spoke with him on May 4, the first day of the operation, and on the next two days as well, U.S. officials said.

 

Vice President JD Vance talked to the prince in a separate call, as did Steve Witkoff, the special envoy to the Middle East, and Jared Kushner, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law. Marco Rubio, the White House national security adviser, spoke to his counterpart.

 

But the crown prince stood his ground, fearing that the American plan could reignite war. The Trump administration was forced to shut down Project Freedom less than 48 hours after it had begun.

 

“They had lost confidence in the administration, and they thought if they let the U.S. use their airspace, they would get hit even harder by Iran,” said Hussein Ibish, a scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington.

 

The all-hands campaign by the White House to sway Prince Mohammed, which has not previously been reported, and other crucial moments during the war revealed American and Saudi officials becoming increasingly at odds over how to approach security in the region, particularly with regard to Iran and Israel.

 

And more and more, the Saudis see the U.S. government as unreliable and even on occasion a risk to Gulf Arab nations.

Since the United States and Israel attacked Iran on Feb. 28, Saudi Arabia has tried to chart a middle course to protect its interests. It gave military and diplomatic support to the United States, and was attacked by Iran.

 

But the kingdom has also opposed Mr. Trump at critical moments, flexing its muscles when it sensed greater dangers resulting from American and Israeli aggression.

 

As Mr. Trump tries to navigate diplomacy with Iran, with a focus on Tehran’s nuclear program, Saudi Arabia continues to carry out its own initiatives, veering away from American priorities and moving to strengthen ties with other nations. That includes Pakistan and China, which helped broker a diplomatic opening between the kingdom and Iran in 2023. The Saudi foreign minister is visiting China this week

 

Because of that opening, Saudi officials are speaking directly to their Iranian counterparts about Iran’s control of the strait, missile arsenal and support for regional militias — all of which the Saudi leadership considers to be a bigger threat than the nuclear issue.

He laid out the risks of war to Mr. Trump before the conflict started, then later urged the American president to continue the fighting to destroy the Iranian government, according to people briefed by U.S. officials. (Saudi Arabia has denied this.) But as Iranian power persisted, Prince Mohammed pushed for a settlement…

John Fetterman Reveals ‘the One Thing’ That Would Make Him Leave Democratic Party

 

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) revealed that “the one thing” that would make him leave the Democratic Party would be if it became an “anti-Israel party” and if denying Israel’s “right to defend itself and to exist” became “a formal part of our platform.”

 

The senator has been unequivocal in his support for Israel and a staunch advocate for the country’s interests in Congress since the Hamas attacks on Oct. 7, 2023.

 

Since President Donald Trump returned to office, Fetterman has repeatedly criticized fellow Democratic lawmakers’ comments toward the administration and broken with colleagues on some votes – although he votes alongside party lines most of the time.

 

Despite past reports that Senate Republicans were hoping to flip Fetterman, he has shrugged off the idea of crossing the aisle.

 

Speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Hannity Wednesday night, however, the senator admitted there was one line that, if crossed, would prompt him to leave the Democratic Party, and that concerns Israel.

 

“My real concern is the Democratic Party is going to put it into the platform, you know, as an anti-Israel party, that Israel does not have the right to defend itself and to exist,” he said. “And the second that becomes a formal part of our platform, that’s the one thing that would push me out of this party.”

 

“I’m deeply alarmed by the way the Democratic Party is going after Israel and allowing just rank anti-semitism to just flourish, you know, on the left and on the campuses too,” he added.

 

Fetterman’s comments came as he was pressed on the insurgent wave of progressive and self-described democratic socialist candidates winning primaries, in both Colorado and New York, pushing out long-serving incumbents with campaigns that focus, in part, on opposing U.S. support for Israel’s war on Gaza.

 

The senator claimed that one thing the new generation of candidates had in “common” was “contempt for Israel” that he said was “essentially” becoming “anti-Semitism.”

Administration has repeatedly irked presumed allies on COVID vaccine policy, from its silence on reported 32 million Americans skipping second mRNA dose to convincing Supreme Court to leave alone New York vaccine mandate with no religious exemption.

 

Speculation has been rife for five years about the surprisingly large number of Americans who skipped the second dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.

 

Months into the jabs' broad availability in 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated five million people, or 8% of COVID vaccine recipients, had stopped with a single jab. Some of them told The New York Times they feared side effects, felt protected by one dose or their vaccine provider had run out of second doses.

 

The number ballooned to nearly 32 million within a year, according to calculations of CDC data by the Informed Consent Action Network, which asked the agency Feb. 7, 2022, to give an explanation. It said vaccine safety monitoring platforms such as the federal VAERS and v-safe suggest "reactions from mRNA vaccines could be the most parsimonious explanation."

 

The feds have yet to share what they know about the disparity across the Biden and second Trump administrations, despite repeated requests by ICAN, the group's lawyer Aaron Siri fumed Tuesday after getting a perfunctory response letter from the Food and Drug Administration Monday, more than four years after ICAN's second request.

Russiagate Prosecutor Calls Audible On ‘Grand Conspiracy’

Although Donald Trump’s defenders describe the Russia hoax and other efforts to frame the president as a “grand conspiracy,” RealClearInvestigations has learned that the man now leading the probe of that scandal is pursuing multiple conspiracy prosecutions that are smaller and more manageable, according to several sources with direct knowledge of the probe.

 

Since taking over the Justice Department’s far-flung investigation in April, veteran prosecutor Joseph diGenova and his team quickly concluded that combining all of the alleged wrongdoing, which ranges from falsifying evidence and committing perjury to leaking classified information and obstructing justice, into one unified plot and trying them together as a single case would be unmanageable.

 

“You’d have 50 defendants in the courtroom,” said a well-placed source familiar with diGenova’s thinking.

Before diGenova took over the investigation two months ago, its contours were ill-defined as it lurched ahead in fits and starts for more than a year. But according to the sources, diGenova is tackling the case with a new, disciplined focus and in so doing is giving it the direction it’s lacked.

 

But this is a change in tactics, not the theory of the case. The sources say his operating assumption is that Trump’s enemies in the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, the Obama and Biden administration, some Democrats in Congress, and their like-minded accomplices across several government agencies – including the CIA and the FBI – joined in one continuous conspiracy over almost a decade to deny Trump his civil rights, derail his political campaigns, and undermine his presidency.

 

Holistic Review

 

Where other investigators have looked at specific pieces of the effort Trump’s defenders now call “Russiagate” after its original origins, diGenova is launching the first holistic look at the entire scandal. A well-placed source said it is looking at events from June 2015 when Trump first came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower to announce his candidacy through the 2022 FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago after he left office.

 

Insider sources provided RCI with an exclusive look into the specially assigned prosecutor’s office and its recent legal maneuvers.

 

They said two separate grand juries in South Florida are now collecting and hearing evidence in what could become a series of conspiracy cases brought against people who served in the highest reaches of government, including former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former FBI Director James Comey.

 

Since much of the government’s alleged corrupt anti-Trump activity took place in 2016, prosecuting the cases as conspiracies is the only way to get around the five-year federal statute of limitations.

 

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche tapped diGenova, a longtime denizen of Washington, D.C., who was a U.S. attorney during the Reagan administration, to helm the sprawling investigation into what Blanche views as a series of baseless and seditious prosecutions and impeachments of Trump. The acting attorney general has created a special position for diGenova with the title “counselor to the attorney general.”

 

DiGenova has moved into an office in Fort Pierce, Fla., where one federal grand jury is actively hearing evidence in the case. Another grand jury has been convened in Miami, where Jason Reding Quinones, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, is based. He is said to be working closely with diGenova.

 

DiGenova and his team are confident that the jury pool and judges in South Florida will give them a fair hearing, as opposed to Washington, D.C., where they are no longer utilizing a third grand jury.

 

“It’s dead in D.C. Everything is in South Florida now,” a red jurisdiction more sympathetic to Trump, said a senior U.S. official briefed on the matter.

 

As a former federal prosecutor and independent counsel, diGenova is known for using grand juries, which are comprised of 16 to 23 citizens who hear a prosecutor’s case, to aggressively collect evidence by issuing subpoenas for documents and witnesses.

 

The sources say a fresh round of grand jury subpoenas is expected to go out in early July.

..After decades of pushing women into roles that require cold detachment, hard restraint, and an almost total removal of emotion, the results are a total chaotic mess.

… the very soul of what makes a woman a woman: her emotions and how they can spill over into personal grievances, political spectacles, and overall slow-simmering hysteria. And the reason this is so detrimental is because being a Supreme Court justice is a role that’s supposed to require discipline, restraint, and impartiality above almost everything else.

Supreme Court justices aren’t supposed to be CNN pundits, and they’re certainly not supposed to be activists, but many are. Their job is to interpret the Constitution and the law without turning the bench into an emotional cryfest or a therapy session or worse, a political stage.

New Documents & Whistleblowers

 

These well-placed sources also say that diGenova has cultivated several new witnesses, including whistleblowers from the intelligence community and the FBI, and that his team has also uncovered significant new evidence, including a massive FBI document spanning several hundred pages that reportedly exposes new malfeasance in the bureau’s probe of Trump’s alleged ties to Russia, codenamed Crossfire Hurricane, which was begun before the 2016 election.

 

They note that diGenova traveled to D.C. earlier this month to meet with both Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel to discuss the newly discovered internal FBI document and map out new investigative leads as well as a new overall case strategy.

 

Led by former FBI chief Comey, Crossfire investigators targeted the 2016 Trump campaign for colluding with the Kremlin and illegally wiretapped at least one Trump adviser based on political opposition research from the Hillary Clinton campaign. After Trump won the election, the same now-debunked research, known as the Steele dossier, was used by Comey and then-CIA Director John Brennan in a U.S. intelligence report known as the “ICA” to recast his victory as the product of Kremlin espionage.

 

By laundering the dossier – the heart of the Russia collusion scheme – through the U.S. intelligence community, the outgoing Obama administration was able to give it a gloss of credibility. By design, this false information made its way into the media, which in turn prompted Congress to open inquiries and the DOJ to appoint Robert Mueller as special counsel to continue the investigation on a larger scale. DiGenova, sources say, is examining whether Mueller’s team engaged in prosecutorial abuses against Trump officials and associates.

 

Comey and Brennan were subpoenaed earlier this year regarding their roles in the ICA and are key targets in the conspiracy investigation. Both have denied any wrongdoing, publicly and through their lawyers.

 

Now in command of the entire investigation, diGenova has his own budget and is rapidly “staffing up” office, including hiring a large team of deputy prosecutors, investigators, analysts, and researchers, said a DOJ official with eyes into his operation.

 

The Justice Department official told RCI that his Florida team will not move forward with indictments without confidence that they can prevail in a court of law.

 

“We’re not going to bring indictments just to make ourselves feel good only to lose and give the bad guys a victory,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter. “So it’s a lot of work. But that’s what we’re doing.”

 

Currently, no indictments are under seal, the official said.

The official said that diGenova’s team now has “all the files” collected by Special Counsel John Durham, who conducted a multiyear criminal investigation of the FBI’s Russia probe. These include long-sought notes from several hours of interviews with Brennan about his role in the ICA and Crossfire Hurricane.

 

One DOJ official told RCI that diGenova’s investigation is necessary, in part, because Durham “took a dive.” The official noted that Durham only secured a single conviction during his four-year probe – of former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith, who  pleaded guilty to a felony false-statement offense in connection with his admittedly falsifying government records in pursuit of a wiretap on former Trump adviser Carter Page.

 

Although Durham sought up to six months in prison, arguing that Clinesmith, a liberal Democrat, acted out of “political or personal bias” against Trump, D.C. District Judge Jeb Boasberg spared him any jail time and let him work off his probationary sentence by helping edit a D.C. homeless-advocacy journal he followed. The D.C. Bar reinstated his law license soon after.

 

Trump’s supporters say Durham’s record shows he did not pursue his investigation vigorously, while Trump’s critics say his largely dead-end case proves the Russia probe was justified and done by the book.

 

“DiGenova has been appointed to investigate a made-up deep-state plot,” said Harvard attorney and legal analyst Anna Bower.

 

While the legal strategy may have changed, diGenova and his team are still following the same theory of the case and pursuing potential charges under the same conspiracy statutes, the sources say – namely Sections 371 and 242 of the U.S. criminal code.

 

Weaponizing Justice

 

They believe high-ranking officials in the Obama and Biden administrations, acting under color of law, unlawfully weaponized the U.S. justice system and intelligence community against Trump and his advisers in a seditious plot to derail his candidacy and presidency and subvert the will of the American electorate.

 

Adding to the case’s complexity is the FBI’s disparate treatment of Hillary Clinton, who was personally exonerated by Comey in the bureau’s investigation of her emails, codenamed Midyear Exam. The move cleared legal hurdles for her just weeks before her nomination at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. At the same time, recently declassified FBI documents reveal that Comey’s deputy, Andrew McCabe, scuttled the FBI’s Clinton Foundation probe and other investigations tied to Clinton.

 

Soon after letting Clinton off the hook, according to the operating theory of the case, they opened the Crossfire Hurricane espionage case on Trump as an alleged “insurance policy” in the unlikely event that Clinton lost the election, suggesting an illegal plan to abuse law enforcement to frame the Republican candidate. Recently declassified documents reveal Comey was aware of the Clinton plan to set up Trump as a Russian conspirator. Nonetheless, the FBI went after Trump based on a narrative they knew to be politically motivated and most likely bogus, which proved to be the case.

 

The sources confirmed that diGenova and his team are looking closely at the FBI’s apparent double standard of justice employed during the 2016 campaign. And they have already found “fertile ground” there for possible conspiracy charges.

 

Another central focus of diGenova’s team, according to an insider briefed on the matter, is the Obama-ordered ICA and the seeming political manufacturing of U.S. intelligence to frame the incoming president as a Kremlin puppet in early 2017.

 

The intelligence assessment’s post-election conclusion that Russia interfered in the election to help Trump, which happened to be the key allegation of the Clinton-funded dossier, contradicted the intelligence community’s own pre-election finding that Russia had not favored Trump and instead sought to sow discord in the American electoral process.

 

Comey and Brennan pushed for inclusion of the dossier in the ICA over the objections of career analysts.

 

In addition to Comey and Brennan, a Florida grand jury has subpoenaed McCabe’s top aide, Lisa Page, and Peter Strzok, the counterintelligence official who led the Crossfire probe and who also interacted with the CIA during the drafting of the ICA. Both have maintained their innocence.

 

Also in the crosshairs, the sources say, is James Clapper, who spearheaded the ICA as former President Obama’s intelligence czar and who has received a subpoena. So, too, is Lisa Monaco, who served as a top Obama aide in the White House before former President Biden appointed her deputy AG, where she oversaw the raid of Mar-a-Lago. Neither responded to requests for comment.

Key witnesses and subjects in the Florida-based grand jury investigations, the sources say, include: FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten, who was instrumental in several Trump-related investigations and rubber-stamped the dossier’s use in applications for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants targeting Carter Page; Celeste Wallander, a top Obama White House aide and Russian analyst later appointed to the Pentagon by President Biden; former CIA analyst and Biden aide Eric Ciaramella, who secretly worked with then-House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on the first impeachment of Trump as the so-called “anonymous whistleblower;” former Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, who worked with Ciaramella and Schiff to facilitate the first impeachment; former Clapper aide Vinh Nguyen, who helped craft the sections of the ICA dealing with Russian cyber threats; and former National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers, who clashed with Brennan and Clapper during the manufacturing of the ICA.

 

As a cooperating witness, Rogers has already told investigators some alarming new information, according to the sources. In April, ODNI issued criminal referrals to DOJ for both Ciaramella and Atkinson over their role in the first Trump impeachment concerning Ukraine in 2019.

 

DiGenova, who is licensed to practice law in D.C. but not Florida, won’t likely argue any cases in court and will assume a supervisory role as cases are litigated. A Republican, diGenova got his start in Washington in the 1970s as a lawyer working on the Church Committee, a select Senate committee tasked with investigating CIA and FBI abuses. In the 1980s, he served as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, where he supervised numerous public corruption and national security cases and earned a reputation as a results-oriented prosecutor.

 

In 1992, diGenova was appointed independent counsel to investigate the Bush administration’s possibly illegal search of Bill Clinton’s passport. After two years on the case, he brought no criminal charges. In 1996, he and his wife founded the diGenova & Toensing law firm in Washington.

 

At 81, the gravel-voiced, mustachioed diGenova still appears spry. Colleagues told RCI they are cautiously optimistic that he will get results.

 

“He is totally sharp and hard-charging,” said DOJ Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, who until recently also ran the anti-weaponization task force at DOJ.

 

However, the clock is ticking. DiGenova will have to secure convictions or guilty pleas before January 2029, when a Democratic administration could take over the DOJ and quash any indictments and prosecutions.

 

The DOJ official close to diGenova’s office said the appointment of a special prosecutor to ride herd on the wide-ranging investigation should have been done a year ago, but then-Attorney General Pam Bondi was reluctant to take such risks.

 

“She was frightened by the entire thing,” he said. “She was way out of her depth.”

 

RCI has reached out to Bondi for comment. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Miami did not respond to requests for a statement.

Former CIA Director John Brennan filed a lawsuit against President Trump, the Justice Department, and senior administration officials on Wednesday over the Justice Department’s criminal investigation into him.

 

Brennan filed the lawsuit in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, claiming that he has been “vindictively singled out for investigation and prosecution.”

 

He is seeking a court order requiring the White House, Justice Department, ODNI, and the CIA to “preserve materials and communications potentially relevant to Director Brennan’s legal and constitutional challenges to any future criminal charges.”

 

The case has been assigned to far-left Biden-appointed Judge Jia Cobb. Cobb previously oversaw Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook’s lawsuit against the Trump Administration, blocked the Trump Administration from carrying out expedited deportations of illegal aliens under his “Protecting the American People Against Invasion” Executive Order, and blocked Trump’s National Guard deployment in Washington, DC.

 

“This Administration has adopted a policy of using criminal process and prosecution to punish the President’s perceived adversaries,” the 46-page filing begins. “It is against this backdrop that former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, John O. Brennan (“Plaintiff” or “Director Brennan”), is being vindictively singled out for investigation and prosecution.”

 

It further points to the investigation of former Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and an ongoing investigation into Minnesota officials, arguing that, likewise, “the evidence of vindictiveness in this matter is overwhelming.”

 

“President Trump has been condemning and calling for Director Brennan’s prosecution for years,” it reads. “Given these strong indicia of vindictiveness, Director Brennan expects that he will forcefully challenge any eventual indictment as the product of an unconstitutionally vindictive and selective prosecution.”

 

The lawsuit cites two ongoing federal investigations, including the grand conspiracy probe into the Russiagate conspiracy. The other investigation centers on whether Brennan lied under oath to the House Judiciary Committee in 2023 by claiming that he opposed including the unverified Steele Dossier in the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) on Russian election interference.

 

“Justice Department officials have engaged in a variety of inappropriate activities in their attempt to build a prosecutable case on the hollow foundation of these ‘criminal referrals,'” Brennan’s attorneys argue.

More than a dozen House Republicans tanked a procedural vote for the must-pass defense bill — once again over the GOP’s signature election bill, the SAVE Act.

 

The House has passed the SAVE Act three times prior,but it lacks the votes in the GOP-led Senate to pass into law. “The SAVE Act has become a recurring source of chaosfor House Republicans, repeatedly derailing procedural votes and stalling unrelated

 

legislation,” reportedAxios’s Kate Santaliz of the ongoing headache the SAVE Act is causing House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). Axios listed the Republicans who tanked the vote on the key defense bill needed to ensure the military stays fully funded:

Anna Paulina Luna (La.), Tim Burchett (Tenn.), Chip Roy (Texas), Thomas Massie (Ky.), Lauren Bobert(Colo.), Max Miller (Ohio), Victoria Spartz (Ind.), Eric Burlison (Mo.), Andy Harris (Md.), Eli Crane (Ariz.), Randy Fine (Fla.), Keith Self (Texas), Mike Turner (Ohio.) and Steve Scalise(La.) — voted against the rule for the National Defense Authorization Act because it doesn’t include an amendment on the SAVE Act.

 

Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) added some extra vitriol into the mix following the voteand accused Speaker Johnson of lying about allowing a rule to go forward to attach the SAVE Act to the defense bill.

 

Punchbowl’s Catherine Leffert reported Miller said of Johnson, “There’s one common problem here. It’s always been one person, andfor someone who’s got the holiest tongue in the world, he lies more than anyone I’ve ever met.”

 

Santaliz concluded her report by notingthat Speaker Johnson appears to be out of options for the momentto get the SAVE Act passed yet again and move forward on other key agenda items. “The path forward for passing the defense bill remains unclear, as does a mechanism for Johnson and his leadership team to move forward on other legislation they’d hoped to pass before the July 4 recess,” she wrote.

A fire at an Ohio motel killed three people who were trapped in a room in the early morning hours of July 1, officials said.

Sibling Supernova Remnants

 

What happens when one of the stars in a binary goes supernova? This image combines visible (yellow), ultraviolet (purple) and infrared light (cyan, red and orange) to show two supernova remnants and their surrounding environment, about 6,000 light-years away. The younger one is the well-known Jellyfish Nebula in the center (mostly in yellow). If we could see it by eye, it would appear larger than the full moon in the sky. The filament shown in purple is part of an older, overlapping supernova remnant, G189.6+3.3. A new study used data from NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope to piece together their story. Astronomers believe that there were two stars in a binary system, then the first one exploded as a supernova, kicking away its companion, which also exploded as a supernova tens of thousands of years later, creating the superimposed supernova remnants we see today. The bright star on the right is actually a triple star system named Propus.

‘I’m Not Sure I Agree’: Stephen A. Smith Pushes Back on Birthright Citizenship Ruling

Stephen A. Smith pushed back on the Supreme Court’s ruling on birthright citizenship, which rejected an executive order from President Donald Trump.

 

On his Straight Shooter show, Smith ran through recent rulings by the Supreme Court, including the 6-3 decision that struck down a Trump executive order and essentially reaffirmed the 14th Amendment.

 

The president and other Republicans have pushed back on the ruling and called on Congress to act to take down the law giving citizenship to almost anyone born on United States soil.

 

Smith said he understood the court’s decision, but added he has no problem with the law being “challenged.”

 

He argued:

 

I’m not sure I agree with that decision. The Constitution’s the Constitution and the 14th Amendment of the Constitution says what it says so I get that part, but if folks are coming over here unlawfully and illegally, intending to give birth on American soil just to ensure that the child is an American citizen, I don’t have a problem with that being challenged. And I’m a support of migrants. I think those who are here should be left to be here unless they’re committing lawless acts, but you’ve got to control the borders. You have to. Every other nation does it. We should be able to do it too.

 

Trump’s executive order denied citizenship to babies born to parents in the country illegally or who are temporary residents.

 

“Citizenship, then and now, was the right to have rights — to freely participate in our political community. The Framers of the Fourteenth Amendment extended that promise to ‘every free-born person in this land,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the court’s opinion. “We keep that promise today.”

 

Trump demanded Congress take action following the court’s decision.

 

“The Supreme Court upheld Birthright Citizenship, which is too bad for our Country, but we can easily make it up in Congress through Legislation, with the support of the President, that has now been determined during this process,” he wrote on Truth Social. “No long and unwieldy Constitutional Amendment is necessary! Congress should start TODAY to work on ending expensive and unfair to our Country, Birthright Citizenship. They will have my Complete and Total Support!”

A Ukrainian national has been charged in relation to a series of explosions which severely damaged the Nord Stream gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea in 2022.

A Ukrainian national has been charged in relation to a series of explosions which severely damaged the Nord Stream gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea in 2022.

 

German federal ‌prosecutors ⁠have filed ⁠charges ​against a ​Ukrainian ​national ‌over a series of Nord ‌Stream pipeline blasts in September 2022, ‌German ​media reported on Wednesday.

 

Public broadcaster ARD and newspapers Süddeutsche Zeitung andZeit named the accused as Serhii K. , who was detained in Italy on a German arrest warrant in August 2025 and extradited to Germany.

 

The 50-year-old Ukrainian soldier from Kyiv is accused of leading a team of seven accomplices in the operation which destroyed three of four key Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea.

 

The pipelines transported Russian gas to Europe, but were not in use at the time.

 

K. is also accused of attacking civil energy infrastructure, considered a war crime under international law, as well as causing an explosion and destroying infrastructure, German media reported.

 

He has denied involvement and his lawyer told the Reuters news agency that he was confident his client would be acquitted.

 

What do we know about the evidence against the defendant?

 

According to reports, investigators discovered that K. led the sabotage team and was in command of the sailing yacht Andromeda, from which the attack was allegedly carried out.

 

Investigators reportedly discovered traces of the military explosives HMX and RDX on the Andromeda.

 

Of K.'s seven alleged accomplices, one has reportedly since been killed during Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine.

 

K. was arrested on August 21, 2025, in the Italian province of Rimini. Following his transfer to Germany on November 27, 2025, a German judge executed the arrest warrant the next day and he has been in pre-trial detention in the northern city of Hamburg since.

 

The evidence against the defendant is reportedly considered to be overwhelming. For instance, K. is alleged to have incriminated himself in intercepted phone calls made while in custody in Italy pending extradition.

 

He fought for months against his extradition to Germany and at one point went on hunger strike, claiming mistreatment.

 

Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline as controversial as ever

 

How is the operation alleged to have worked?

 

Following the extradition, a ruling issued by Germany's highest criminal court described how investigators believe the operation in the Baltic Sea unfolded.

 

According to the findings, K. and his accomplices – a skipper, an explosives expert, and four deep-sea divers – boarded the Andromeda in the port of Wiek on the German island of Rügen no later than September 8, 2022.

 

The vessel had been chartered for several weeks by an intermediary.

 

The team reportedly attached four explosive devices equipped with time-delay fuses to the gas pipelines on the seabed near the Danish island of Bornholm, at depths of up to 80 meters.

 

According to the details provided, the devices consisted of high-performance military-grade explosives capable of massive destruction and designed to detonate even at great depths, which they did on September 26, 2022.

An early morning hangout with the Moon and planets, a comet swings by, prime time for the Milky Way, and Saturn's rings shine at a new angle. That's What's Up for July.

Before sunrise on July 11 and 12, look toward the eastern sky for a lineup of the Moon and planets. On these mornings, the waning crescent Moon helps point the way to Mars, with Saturn shining nearby in the morning sky.

 

Uranus is in the same general part of the sky, too, but it is much fainter, so you will need binoculars or a telescope to see it.

Mars will look like a small reddish point of light, Saturn is brighter and easier to spot, and the Moon makes the whole scene easy to locate.

 

Around the New Moon on July 14, Comet 10P/Tempel 2 swings by.

This is a short-period comet, meaning it returns to the inner solar system on a regular orbit. In this case, it comes back about every 5½ years. It is not a dramatic comet that you see just by looking up at the sky, though.

 

Through binoculars or a telescope, find the constellation Capricornus and look for a small fuzzy glow nearby, possibly with a brighter central knot and a short, broad, fan-shaped tail.

For the best chance to view the comet, head somewhere dark, away from city lights. Start looking once the sky is fully dark, ideally about 45 to 60 minutes after sunset.

 

Those same dark nights around the July 14 New Moon are also the best time this month to look for the Milky Way.

From a dark location, away from city lights, the Milky Way appears as a pale, cloudy band across the summer sky. The bright, cloudy region of the Milky Way marks the direction of the galactic center.

It looks so dense because we're looking toward one of the most crowded parts of our galaxy, where countless stars glow behind dark clouds of cosmic dust.

 

Late in the evening, look low in the southern sky for a group of stars shaped like a big hook or scorpion tail. That's Scorpius. The bright, cloudy part of the Milky Way is nearby, close to another group of stars called Sagittarius.

For the best chance to see the Milky Way, go somewhere dark, give your eyes time to adjust, and try not to look at your phone.

 

Later in July, Saturn is a rewarding target for telescope users.

Saturn's rings are still tilted at a very shallow angle from our point of view, making them look unusually thin. The rings aren't disappearing, but how they appear from Earth is changing.

It's a great reminder that our view of the solar system is always in motion.

The recent theft of a bronze monument to iconic Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in Germany has sparked concerns in Moscow that state-backed efforts aimed at eradicating Russian culturein Eastern Europe are spilling over into other countries.

 

The crime occurred sometime between last Friday and Saturday, according to the administration of Hemer, a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, which on Tuesday offered €1,000 ($1,140) for information leading to the arrest of the perpetrators.

 

The Russian Embassy called the theft “unsettling,” stressing thatthe monument “has for years served as a symbol of the importance of Russian cultural legacy in Germany.” Diplomats from the Russian Consulate General in Bonn andmembers of the Russian-German communityvisited the site in the town park last month.

 

The monument was a gift from Shchyolkovo, Hemer’s sister town in Russia, and was created by local artist Grigory Pototsky. It was unveiled in September 1994.

 

Images from the scene showed an empty stone base with the remains of the steel framework that used to support the poet’s statue. Hemer officials said its sheer weight suggests that several individuals had to use power tools and an escape vehicle to steal it.

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that the incident echoed the “war onmonuments” in Poland and the Baltic states, aimed at removing sculptures dedicated to the Soviet contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II,as well as the Ukrainian government’s crackdown on Russian culture.

 

“One hopes the [Pushkin] monument will be found and returned to its place. Otherwise, German officials who encourage Russophobia would be condemning themselves,” Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

 

Moscow views the campaigns in Eastern Europe toremoveRussian wartime monuments as part ofan attempted rehabilitation of local Nazi collaborators.

 

In Ukraine, mass vandalism and the removal of monuments after the 2014 Western-backed coup initially targeted Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin. However, it has sincegrown into a state-backed purge of Russian cultural landmarks, such as the monument toCatherine IIand her royal aides in Odessa in 2022 and the statue of writer Mikhail Bulgakov in Kiev earlier this year.

 

Dozens of monuments to Pushkin have been dismantled throughout Ukraine as part of the campaign.
