US President Donald Trump said Monday the United States would reinstate a blockade targeting Iranian ships and customers while keeping the Strait of Hormuz open to vessels from all other countries.

 

“We are reinstating the THE IRANIAN BLOCKADE, so named because it is only stopping Iran’s ships or customers from entering or leaving,” he said in a post on Truth Social.

 

“The Hormuz Strait is OPEN, and will remain OPEN, with or without Iran,” Trump wrote, saying the measure would prevent only Iranian ships or their customers from entering or leaving the waterway.

 

Trump declared thatthe United States would become the “Guardian of the Hormuz Strait”and said Washington would charge a fee equal to 20% of all cargo shipped through the strategic passage to cover the costs of providing security.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Monday they would continue to enforce Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz, accusing the United States of “putting global oil and gas supplies at risk through its actions” in the strategic waterway.

 

“We will continue to exercise sovereignty and control over the Strait of Hormuz with strength and power,” Guards spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi said.

 

Mohebbi said US involvement in the strait had endangered the security of global energy supplies andthat Washington “must be held accountable.”

Iran said on Monday it would not allow the United States to take part in managing the Strait of Hormuz, following comments by President Donald Trumpthat Washington could take control of the strategic waterway.

 

“We will under no circumstances allow the United States to interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz,” the spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said.

 

Iran's armed forces, the spokesperson said, would respond “with force” to any US military interference with commercial or oil tanker traffic outside routes designated by Iran and without authorization from its armed forces.

 

The spokesperson also said any regional country providing logistical support to the US military would be regarded as participating in a war against Iran's sovereignty and national security.

Mahdi Mohammad Sadeghi, a 43-year-old naturalized US citizen and former employee of global electronics company Analog Devices, was convicted on three of five charges.

 

Prosecutors accused Sadeghi of helping Iranian business associate Mohammad Abedininajafabadi evade US export controls through a front company in Switzerland.

 

They said Abedini’s Tehran-based company produces navigation systems for the military drone program of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

Scientists Find The First True Sugar Ever Detected in Interstellar Space

The latest discovery in the galactic center strengthens the Milky Way's resemblance to a mouth-watering treat.

Previously, scientists found an ester called ethyl formate drifting between the stars in the inner regions of the galaxy – a compound that contributes to the distinctive flavor of raspberries.

Now astronomers may have found the sugar with which to dust this cosmic comestible.

 

In roughly the same region of space, scientists have now identified erythrulose – the first true sugar ever found in interstellar space.

You probably wouldn't want to actually eat it. Erythrulose is edible enough, but it's mixed in with a whole bunch of space stuff that is rather less compatible with staying alive (hello, cyanide-bearing molecules).

Fortunately, what wouldn't make a very good snack may have made an excellent ingredient for life's origins.

 

According to a team led by cosmochemist Izaskun Jiménez-Serra of the Spanish Astrobiology Center, the discovery could help explain where the first biologically important sugars came from before life began on Earth.

"A central question in origin-of-life research is how monosaccharides formed on the primitive Earth, as laboratory experiments under prebiotic conditions yield insufficient concentrations," the team writes in a new paper published in Nature Astronomy.

"Interstellar erythrulose could have contributed to the sugar inventory available for early metabolic and replication processes."

 

Life as we know it depends on sugars – small, carbon-based molecules that cells use for energy and as raw materials to build larger biological molecules. Sugars also form the backbone of RNA and DNA.

Sugars are also central to prebiotic chemistry – the chemical conditions that give rise to life. However, because scientists still don't know how the first sugars formed, they are often treated simply as starting ingredients in models of prebiotic chemistry.

We've had clues that sugar can form in a space environment. Sugars have been found in meteorites and samples from asteroid Bennu. Simple sugar precursors such as glycolaldehyde and (Z)-1,2-ethenediol have also been detected in space.

The inner region of our galaxy is known as the Central Molecular Zone, and it's filled with thick clouds of gas and dust that are rich with complex organic molecules.

The team turned two radio telescopes in Spain towards a particularly promising cloud named G+0.693, which in the past has yielded other prebiotic molecules.

 

The search was conducted by looking for erythrulose's unique radio signature. Every molecule rotates in its own way, producing a distinctive pattern of radio frequencies that astronomers can identify even from thousands of light-years away.

G+0.693 gave the team what they were looking for – but there was a twist in the tale, and not just because erythrulose is chiral.

They were expecting that simpler sugars containing three carbon atoms would dominate.

 

Instead, four-carbon erythrulose appeared to be at least 8 to 17 times more abundant than the three-carbon sugars glyceraldehyde and dihydroxyacetone, which weren't detected in the cloud at all.

That could be key information that tells us how sugar forms in an interstellar environment.

 

The researchers' computer models suggest the sugar forms on the icy surfaces of tiny dust grains drifting through space.

On those grains, two relatively common two-carbon molecules – glycolaldehyde and ethylene glycol – can be activated by radiation and combine to build erythrulose.

 

Eventually, shocks can knock these molecules off the dust grains and back into space, where telescopes can detect them.

The modeled abundances of these molecules do not quite match the observations, but there are many possible reasons for that. Future work may get to the bottom of the discrepancy.

 

But there's icing yet on this particular interstellar cake.

Erythrulose, at 14 atoms in size, is the largest molecule ever discovered in interstellar space that doesn't have closed rings in its structure – and only the second chiral molecule.

This suggests the interstellar medium – and the central molecular zone in particular – may be capable of much more complex chemistry than we realized.

 

In addition, the discovery could be a clue about how this chemistry may have existed in the cloud from which the Sun and all its planets were born.

The detection, the researchers write, "not only provides direct evidence that complex, chiral species can form under interstellar conditions, but it also takes us to a higher level in the ladder of interstellar chemical complexity, suggesting that other prebiotic (and potentially chiral) molecules could also form and survive under the extreme conditions of the interstellar medium."

ESA welcomes new UK space and defence gateway

His Majesty King Charles III visited the UK’s largest space cluster on 10 July to launch a new initiative designed to shape the future of the space and defence economy.

Neighbouring the European Space Agency’s UK site on the Harwell campus in Oxfordshire, the Space and Defence Gateway was opened by His Majesty at an event attended by ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, UK ESA astronauts, and several other high-level representatives from ESA, the UK government and the Harwell campus.

 

The visit provided an opportunity for Josef Aschbacher to present His Majesty with a Union Flag that spent nearly a year aboard the International Space Station.

The Gateway comprises a co-working and events space that will facilitate collaboration between governments, space agencies, academia and industry.

It will concentrate on enabling businesses to secure investment, enabling UK start-ups to refine and scale-up their operations.

 

The initiative aligns with the principles of the Astra Carta, a global framework designed to encourage sustainability and responsible practices within the space industry.

During the visit, His Majesty was taken on a tour of the Harwell campus space cluster and its vibrant community of public and private enterprises, featuring national research laboratories, sovereign test facilities, start-ups, scale-ups and multinational corporations.

 

The continued growth of the cluster is supported by several anchor organisations, including RAL Space, the UK Space Agency, the Satellite Applications Catapult – and ESA.

ESA’s Harwell-based European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT) is home to teams working in telecommunications, commercialisation, Earth observation, exploration and technology development.

 

The facility hosts ESA’s 5G/6G Hub, which is accelerating the deployment of space-enabled connectivity, and ESA’s climate team, which uses satellite data to monitor long-term changes impacting the planet.

On the surrounding campus, ECSAT supports several other facilities, including ESA’s Business Incubation Centre UK, which helps start-ups to turn their space-connected ideas into commercial reality.

Shenzhou-23 spaceflight mission's three-person crew have successfully tested an upgraded in-orbit mass measurement device at the country's space station as they near their 50th day in orbit while continuing an expanding range of scientific experiments.

 

According to a video released by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) , astronauts Zhu Yangzhu, Zhang Zhiyuan and Li Jiaying also carried out several experiments over the past week focusing on space life sciences and human research.

 

As part of a musculoskeletal loading study, the crew conducted plantar pressure measurements, lower-limb biomechanical tests, and muscle-tendon assessments while running and performing resistance exercises under different load conditions.

 

The experiments collected data on plantar pressure, joint movement, motion images and muscle parameters to help researchers understand changes in muscle-tendon interactions in space.

 

The astronauts also used near-infrared brain functional imaging equipment to carry out neuroergonomic experiments involving multiple tasks. Scientists on the ground will analyze the data to examine how the space environment affects astronauts' cognitive control.

 

The crew continued its routine daily exercise programme to reduce the physiological effects of prolonged exposure to weightlessness.

 

China launched the Shenzhou-23 crewed spacecraft on May 24. The mission includes a one-year in-orbit stay experiment designed to provide key data for future long-duration human space exploration.

Representatives for Paramount and Bonta didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

 

Led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, the lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District for the Northern District of California, is also brought forth by attorneys general of Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Washington.

 

“The unlawful merger of these two entertainment behemoths would lead to higher prices, lower quality, and less content for film and television, harming movie theaters, basic cable distributors, and ultimately, audiences on every sofa and movie theater seat in the U.S.,” Bonta said in a release.

 

The deal would combine two storied film studios — Paramount and Warner Bros. — as well as streaming platforms Paramount+ and HBO Max. Paramount CEO David Ellison has previously said the streaming services would become one following the transaction.

 

It would also mean the formation of the largest portfolio of TV networks in the U.S., bringing together Paramount’s broadcast network CBS and pay TV channels like MTV and BET with WBD’s CNN, TNT and others.

 

The lawsuit filed Monday raised concerns about the size of the combined company, adding that the merged entity would control nearly one-third of films and nearly a third of basic cable TV programming.

 

“The coalition has asked Warner Bros. and Paramount not to close the merger until after the judicial process concludes, and if they do not agree, the coalition will be filing a temporary restraining order,” according to a statement Monday from the attorneys general.

 

The merger won approval from WBD shareholders in April, and Ellison said on a recent earnings call that it was on track to close by September.

 

Hollywood has previously expressed concerns about the combination, citing the likelihood of fewer film releases and the potential for job losses in the industry. Ellison has promised that once combined the film studios would put out a slate of 30 movies per year and has said he’s committed to protecting jobs.

 

Ellison first set his sights on WBD last September. Just weeks after Paramount and Ellison’s Skydance completed its merger, the company made its initial run for WBD, resulting in several bids and a formal sale process.

 

WBD ultimately signed a deal to sell its film studio and streaming assets to Netflix. However, Paramount launched a hostile takeover offer and subsequently amended its bid. Netflix ditched its deal, and Paramount walked away with an agreement to buy the entirety of WBD for $31 per share.

 

The deal came under scrutiny from lawmakers in both the U.S. and Europe, including related to foreign funding that was part of Paramount’s offer. In mid-June, the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice signed off on the tie-up, clearing it of federal concerns.

 

“The Division has completed its analysis of the proposed merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. and determined based on the evidence received in its investigation that the transaction is not likely to result in harm to competition or American consumers,” the department said in its determination.

 

The merger has also won approval from several global jurisdictions as it moves toward a potential close.

 

However, the European Union is still reviewing the deal for approval, with a new provisional deadline set for July 22. The European Commission said in a public filing this month that Paramount has submitted concessions in a bid to smooth over concerns regarding the deal.

Musk and Altman helped to start OpenAI in 2015 as a nonprofit artificial intelligence research lab alongside a band of engineers and scientists.

 

In 2018, Musk left OpenAI’s board after donating tens of millions to the organization, although he later objected to Altman’s efforts to construct “an opaque web of for-profit OpenAI affiliates” in a lawsuit that went to trial in California this year. A jury ruled in favor of Altman, and Musk said he would appeal the case.

 

Musk’s relationship with Altman and OpenAI eroded after the Tesla and SpaceX CEO borrowed OpenAI engineering personnel to remake Tesla’s Autopilot technology and poached AI researcher Andrej Karpathy from OpenAI. Musk pressured OpenAI to give him complete control and merge the lab into Tesla. Altman and other OpenAI board members rebuffed Musk, who stopped making promised contributions to OpenAI, leaving it in a difficult financial position.

 

Weeks after the trial, Musk’s company SpaceX — which controls the X social platform, the xAI lab that challenges OpenAI and the Starlink broadband internet service — completed its landmark initial public offering. SpaceX raised a record $75 billion as it promoted plans to launch data centers into space, as well as ambitions in enterprise AI applications and interplanetary transportation. Meanwhile, OpenAI has filed confidentially for its own IPO.

 

This week, SpaceX released the Grok 4.5 generative AI model, while OpenAI debuted its own GPT-5.6 Sol. For days, Musk and Altman have hyped up their respective releases, but on Saturday the rivalry got personal. Earlier, Musk sued both Apple and OpenAI, alleging that they engaged in anti-competitive practices that left Grok lower in app store rankings than other AI chatbots and image generators.

 

SpaceX has sought to expand in AI coding through its $60 billion all-stock acquisition of Cursor, which it expects to close in the third quarter following regulatory review. The deal would help SpaceX go up against Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex, which quickly write source code for applications.

 

In response to an X post about Applefiling suit against OpenAI on Friday over alleged theft of trade secrets, Musk wrote, “Scam Altman strikes again …”

 

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has used the “Scam Altman” moniker to refer to the OpenAI CEO on several occasions over the past year. Minutes after his post, Musk doubled down, writing, “He takes scamming to a whole new level.”

 

Next, Musk published a photo of Altman that included the words, “I’m doing this because I love it.”

 

“By ‘this’ he means scamming,” Musk wrote, including two rolling-on-the-floor-laughing emojis.

 

Musk then replied to that post, writing, “He might literally love scamming more than any human alive!”

 

The flurry of social activity got Altman’s attention.

 

″[H]omeboy you’re the one sellling public market investors on short-term space datacenters,” Altman wrote in an X postof his own that garnered over 11 million views.

 

“We start flying them next year. Maybe you can come see them if your parole officer approves,” Musk fired back.

 

Separately, Altman put Musk’s fresh wave of attention in the context of OpenAI’s fresh model release.

 

″[T]here are a lot of benchmarks that suggest 5.6 sol is the best model in the world right now, but the most reliable way to tell is that elon is obsessed with me again,” Altman wrote on X.

 

Elsewhere on X, the account @iliketeslasasserted that Altman is scared of Apple. That, too, prompted a response from Altman.

Altman’s post led Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, to respond: “Incredible trade secrets as well, some of the best.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that any Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory will be met with significantly stronger retaliation.

 

Putin made the remarks on Monday while addressing the ‘All for Victory!’ forum organized by the All-Russian People’s Front, where he discussed the Ukraine conflict and Moscow’s response to Western backing for Kiev.

 

“Our response will always mirror any strike on Russian territory. We will respond in kind – only several times more powerfully,” Putin said. “The enemy will feel it. They already do, I hope. And they will feel it even more in the future.”

 

Russia’s strength lies in its ability to overcome “every difficulty and every challenge,” while the “Russophobic” part of the collective West continues to wage a campaign against the country, Putin said.

 

Despite the pressure, Russia is “developing its economy, strengthening its financial system, modernizing its Armed Forces and expanding its defense industry,” he said, adding that these efforts are already changing “the situation on the battlefield.”

 

“Our fighters are advancing,” Putin said. “That is why there is no doubt we will achieve victory.”

 

Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure and residential areas in recent months amid continued setbacks on the battlefield, launching several hundred UAVs a day on average.

In late June, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky announced a 40-day pressure campaign, combining long-range strikes and clandestine operations aimed at inflicting economic damage on Russia.

 

Moscow has condemned the attacks as indiscriminate acts of terrorism intended to distract from Ukraine’s battlefield setbacks, responding with an expanded campaign of long-range strikes.

Trump’s post comes after Graham’s office announced on Sunday that Graham had died at the age of 71 “from a brief and sudden illness.”

 

“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness,” the statement from Graham’s office said. “Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.”

 

A spokesperson for Graham shared that the “preliminary findings by the Medical Examiner of the District of Columbia” had found that the “cause of death was aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease,” CBS News reported.

Iran’s Missing ‘Supreme Leader’ Vows Revenge Against Trump in Written Statement

Mojtaba Khamenei, the official “supreme leader” of Iran and son of late dictator Ali Khamenei,allegedly published a written statement this weekend read aloud on state television vowing “revenge” against the United States.

 

Khamenei became “supreme leader” in February after President Donald Trump launched “Operation Epic Fury,” which on its first day resulted in the elimination of Ali Khamenei.He has neither been seen in public nor released audio messages since the government declared him the new dictator, prompting extensive speculation that he has been disfigured, severely injured, or otherwise incapacitated. Mojtaba Khamenei’s absence was especially noted last week as formal burial rites for his father took place, attended by three of his brothers but not the alleged head of the country.

 

In the absence of a functional “supreme leader,” the military and civilian wings of Iran’s government have become embroiled in a power struggle resulting in both sides sending conflicting public messages and disrupting attempted negotiations with the United States. While Iran’s civilian leadership and America signed a “memorandum of understanding” in late June that required Iran to stop disrupting global commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the terrorist Islamic Republic Guard Corps (IRGC) launched attacks against ships in the last week as the funeral ceremonies continued, targeting ships linked to Iran’s Arab neighbors. Those attacks resulted in a kinetic response from the U.S. government and subsequent IRGC strikes on Kuwait, Bahrain, and other neighboring states.

 

In the context of renewed hostilities between Washington and Tehran – President Trump announced that the ceasefire had ended this weekend, though talks allegedly continue –Iranian state media dropped the alleged Khamenei statement, threatening to kill all those involved in the conflict that took his father’s life.

 

“As we bid farewell to your body with tearful eyes and broken hearts, we pledge to safeguard your legacy, to steadfastly traverse the straight path you laid out, to fear no hardships along the way, and to attach our hearts to divine promises and glad tidings as you did,” the Khamenei statement reportedly read, addressing his father.

 

“We pledge to avenge your pure blood and the blood of all the martyrs of these two wars by taking revenge against the criminal, disgraceful murderers,” the statement continued, without mentioning President Trump or his administration by name. “This vengeance is what our nation is demanding, and this must definitely be done. These criminals, whose names are fully documented from the highest to the lowest ranks, will carry their dream of a peaceful death in bed to the grave.”

 

“They must know that this action doesn’t depend on my presence or that of any other official. Whether we are here or not, this will be done. Soon, free-spirited people throughout the world will each carry out a part of this divine mission,” the statement predicted.

 

The statement compared Ali Khamenei to Imam Hussain, the grandson of Muhammad largely considered the third imam of Shia Islam in history. It claimed that “tens of millions” mourned the mass murderer Khamenei throughout the past week, whose body was paraded nationwide. The alleged Mojtaba Khamenei described his father as an inheritor of Hussain’s legacy, writing, “Our nation seeks to take revenge for the blood of Hussain. For years, this great nation has sacrificed its children on the path of Hussain, battling the enemies of Hussain and the enemies of Hussain’s way.”

While Ali Khamenei is believed to have died on February 28, the Iranian regime waited to time the funeral observances to align with the 250th birthday of the Declaration of Independence on July 4. Iranian state media claimed that the government had corralled “millions” of people to attend the funerals, many of them carryingbanners and signs explicitly calling for the death of President Donald Trump.

 

President Trump revealed in an interview with the New York Post on Friday that he is aware of Iran’s intentions to assassinate him and has planned for steps following his death should it occur while he is in office.

Ukrainian Drone Strikes Force Russia to Suspend Shipping in Sea of Azov

U.S. Forces to Resume Naval Blockade Against Iran

 

TAMPA, Fla. — At the Commander in Chief's direction, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will resume blockading maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on July 14 at 4 p.m. ET.

 

CENTCOM forces will enforce the blockade against vessels transiting to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas. The U.S. military continues to support traffic flow through regional waters for all vessels not violating the blockade.

 

The resumption of the U.S. blockade against Iran follows the initial implementation from April 13 to June 18. CENTCOM forces redirected more than 140 compliant vessels, disabled nine non-compliant ships, and allowed over 50 commercial vessels supporting humanitarian aid to pass through the blockade during the two-month period.

 

All mariners are advised to monitor Notice to Mariners broadcasts and contact U.S. naval forces on bridge-to-bridge channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz approaches.

The Trump administration on Monday announcedsweeping new banking rules aimed at cracking down on lending to illegal immigrants, requiring lenders to consider that borrowers without legal work authorization may pose “elevated credit risk,” a move that supporters say could improve housing affordability for Americans.

 

The rules require banks and credit unions to account forthe possibility that an illegal immigrant borrower could lose his job, be unable to find lawful work, or be removed from the country before repaying a mortgage, auto loan, credit-card balance, or other debt.

 

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the National Credit Union Administration issued the joint guidance under President Donald Trump’s May executive order, “Restoring Integrity to America’s Financial System.”

 

The agencies urged banks to take in account that illegal immigrants may pose increased risks.Banks were told to identify, measure, and control those risks through their underwriting and loan-monitoring systems.

 

The new rules make immigration enforcement part of ordinary bank lending decisions.A loan supported by income from unauthorized employment must now be evaluated in light of the U.S. government’s efforts to expand workplace enforcement and removals.

 

The approach resembles the “transition risk” framework regulators previously applied to climate policy. Banks were expected to consider whether future government action or changing consumer preferences could weaken a borrower or strand an asset. Here, the transition risk is immigration enforcement and the possibility that a borrower’s income disappears before a loan is repaid.Banks were also told to examine their exposure to industries, employers, and geographic regions that could be disproportionately affected by the prevalence of illegal immigrants.

 

A bank with a large concentration of such borrowers could suffer what the agencies called “correlated credit deterioration,” with many loans weakening at once. Regulators said banks may identify signs of credit weakness in loans to borrowers without work authorization even when payments remain current.

 

The likely result is tighter credit for illegal immigrants. Banks could demand larger down payments and charge higher rates—or completely reject loan applications—when repayment depends on income from unauthorized work.

 

Fair-lending law does not stand in the way, according to the administration. The guidance directs banks to consult a June 8 statement from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which instructed creditors that the Equal Credit Opportunity Act expressly provides that “a creditor may take the applicant’s immigration status into account,” along with any additional information needed to determine its rights and remedies regarding repayment.The bureau also advised that lenders relying on income from U.S.-based employment should weigh whether a borrower could lose his job if deported.

The guidance completes the reversal of the Biden administration’s position. In October 2023, the CFPB and the Justice Department’s civil rights division issued a joint statement urging lenders to ignore a potential borrower’s immigration status, a move that encouraged lending to illegal aliens. Critics said the Biden policy blatantly ignored statutes authorizing banks to take into account immigration and work authorization status. In January, the two agencies withdrew it, saying it conflicted with the express language of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

 

The OCC’s participation gives the rules broad reach.Gould said the agency is directly responsible for “the lion’s share of banking system assets” and is refocusing supervision on “material financial risk.”

 

In a speech Monday marking his first year as comptroller, Gould said lawful customers should be judged on “objective risk,” rather than political beliefs, industry affiliations or “reputational considerations that fall outside sound risk management.”

 

He also made clear that banks will be expected to act on risks identified by the agency, saying the OCC would demand “greater direct and sustained attention from bank decision-makers and faster remediation timeframes,” particularly at the largest banks.

 

The housing market may see the largest effects from the new policy. Credit determines how much buyers can bid for homes, and reduced mortgage availability for illegal aliens would lower their purchasing power and relieve price pressure in markets with many illegals.

 

A recent working paper from economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas found that illegal immigration substantially increased local housing demand from 2021 through 2024. An inflow of unauthorized workers equal to one percent of local employment was associated with a 2.2 percent increase in home prices and a 1.4 percent increase in rents. The economists attributed roughly 30 percent of home-price growth and 20 percent of rent growth in the average local market to illegal immigrant inflows during the period. They found little evidence that housing construction increased enough to meet the added demand, undermining a key argument made by proponents of the Biden administration’s open borders policies.

 

Monday’s action extends the administration’s immigration crackdown into the financial system.

Anti-Corruption Probe Links Kushner Luxury Resort To International Drug Trafficking Network

 

Since breaking ground on a multi-billion dollar luxury resort in Albania, the Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump-led project has done more to reveal a corrupt Zionist pay-for-play scheme than it has to shed light on one of the jewels of the Earth that had gone unnoticed until it fell into the hands of the pair of real estate scions, at least as their recounting of the tale of how it came into their purview would have others believe. After protests initially overran the construction sites of the development across Albania's Adriatic coast, that civil unrest against the project amplified to such an extent that over 100,000 Albanians took to the streets of their nation's capital, Tirana, as part of a civilian-initiated referendum against the resort. The movement, which has become known as the "Flamingo Revolution" due to the protected wildlife on Sazan Island and the adjacent Albanian mainland coast jeopardized by the Kushner-backed project, has led the country's largest protests since the fall of communism in Albania during the early 1990s. After that civil unrest proved to be enough to effectuate an investigation led by Albania's anti-corruption task force; the early revelations from that inquiry have already put the project's future into doubt, a development that threatens to turn the development from a luxury resort idealized as a city upon a hill into a castle made of sand being swept into the sea.

 

Albania's anti-corruption investigators have turned their attention to Miami-based businessman Artur Shehu as their probe has gone underway. Investigators have zeroed in on Shehu, who sold property that he owned on Albania's Adriatic coast to the Kushner-led company Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC, and his associates due to links they allege exist between them and an international drug trafficking ring and suspicions that the real estate empire Shehu amassed that he was able to profit from through his sale to Kushner was built through forged property records. Although Shehu's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani, issued a statement on behalf of his client denying all of the accusations made against him by Albania’s Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime ("SPAK"), Cakrani also acknowledged that the country's anti-corruption agency has issued a warrant for Shehu's arrest on charges that he has laundered money for drug gangs.

 

SPAK alleges that Shehu used the profits he and his associates made from trafficking cocaine into Europe from South America to build his real estate empire. Albania's anti-corruption prosecutors go on to allege that Shehu falsified land-ownership documents in order to launder that money through his real estate holdings. As a result of those allegations, prosecutors have frozen roughly 110 million euros tied to the sale of the property.

 

Although SPAK made no direct allegations against Kushner or any of the businesses he helms behind the development of the Sazan Island luxury resort, the accusations made against Shehu are not the first to threaten one of Kushner's real estate projects. In December 2025, just weeks before the company behind the Sazan Island project, Atlantic Incubation Partners LLC, was awarded strategic investor status by the Albanian government, Kushner's investment firm Affinity Partners announced that it had withdrawn itself from a $500 million construction project it planned in Serbia over another anti-corruption probe making similar allegations. Affinity Partners had planned to build a Trump Tower complex encompassing a hotel and luxury apartments in central Belgrade on the site of a former Yugoslavian Army headquarters that was destroyed during a NATO bombing raid in 1999 during the Kosovo War. However, that project fell apart after Serbian Culture Minister Nikola Selakovic and three other officials were indicted on charges of abuse of office and falsification of documents filed by the country’s Public Prosecution Office for Organized Crime (”TOK”).

A tanker has reported being approached by six small boats 50 nautical miles (93 km) south of Yemen's Aden, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported on Monday, adding that warning shots were fired by the tanker.

The British maritime security firm Ambrey later said that Automatic Identification System data indicated the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker initiated evasive maneuvers after the skiffs approached on its starboard side.

The US military has used one-way attack sea drones during operations against Iran overnight, United States Central Command announced. It was the first time that such unmanned surface vessels have been used in the ongoing war.

Saudi Jets Bomb Sanaa International Airport To Stop Iranian Passenger Plane From Landing

 

Renewed conflict continues to be potentially breaking out over Yemen, as on Monday Saudi Arabia struck the runway of the Houthi-controlled Sanaa International Airport, amid growing allegations that Iranian flights have increasingly made use of Yemen's airspace.

 

The Saud-backed Yemeni government which has long been locked in a civil war for the country's future has singled out the Houthi rebels for hosting Iranian flights, warning that its "patience has run out" and that it will respond to any airspace violations.

 

"The Yemeni legitimate government, in cooperation with the regional and international community, and by all diplomatic and legal means, has tried to convince the Iranian regime and the Houthi coup militias in Sana'a to return to the armed forces and not to penetrate the Yemeni airspace with the Iranian planes," an official statement said.

 

Residents of the Houthi-controlled capital of Sanaa have reported seeing warplanes flying overhead, after Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah channel indicated the strikes targeted the airport’s landing and takeoff runways.

 

"In an unjust aggression, the Saudi enemy carried out several airstrikes against Sanaa International Airport," Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree responded. "The Saudi aggression against Sanaa airport has ended the phase of de-escalation, and it must bear the consequences of its aggression," he added.

 

Another senior Houthi official, Hazem al-Assad, also threatened in follow-up remarks: "The Saudi regime will discover that it has dug its own grave."

 

The Iranian plane in question reportedly hasn't been hit or damaged, and was safely diverted to Yemen's Hodeidah International Airport.

 

The "internationally recognized" Yemeni government has long been propped up by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the US, after a lengthy half-decade long UAE/Saudi/US coalition air war failed to dislodge Houthi power. The pro-Saudi government operates out of Aden in southern Yemen, after the country's president fled there a decade ago.

While the Nazis would go on to run with the idea — and ultimately help to effect its demise — the Fabian Society also was rumored to have inspired author George Orwell, whose dystopian 1984 (written in the late 1940s) was set exactly 100 years after the society’s founding.

Sea drones strike Iranian port in combat first for US

U.S. Central Command utilized three Corsair unmanned surface vessels to strike a submarine and ship maintenance facility at the Bandar Abbas naval base in Iran, marking the “first time American forces have employed sea drones in combat operations,” CENTCOM confirmed on X on Monday.

The latest round of strikes by the U.S. comes after it revoked a license on July 7 that allowed Iran to sell oil. U.S. President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire between the two nations — which began on April 8 — to be over, but ceded that Iran had agreed to continue to negotiate.

 

The U.S. military said it hit dozens of Iranian military targets on Sunday, which included the first-ever combat use of Corsair USVs to assist in degrading Iran’s ability to continue to attack commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Built by Saronic, the Corsair is a 24-foot USV that has a range of over 1,000 nautical miles and a payload capacity of 1,000 pounds while surging at 35 knots.

 

According to the company, “it supports a variety of missions including ISR, surface surveillance, and logistics in both permissive and contested environments.

Its embedded AI stack and open architecture allow rapid integration of sensors and autonomy software, making it a flexible platform for modern naval and defense applications.”

 

While it is the USVs first display in combat, the U.S. Navy has been testing and utilizing Corsair vessels for various missions over the past two years.

Just last month, two soldiers were picked up by a Navy-operated Corsair USV after their Army AH-64 Apache helicopter crashed during a patrol operation near the Strait of Hormuz.

The unique mission marked the first publicized use of the craft outside of testing.

 

“The surface drone that assisted in last night’s rescue of the Apache crew off the coast of Oman was a U.S. Navy Corsair unmanned surface vessel operated by U.S. 5th Fleet’s Task Force 59,” Capt. Tim Hawkins, a U.S. Central Command spokesperson, said in a statement in June.

“The Task Force began fielding these drones in theater in late March.”

 

In January 2024 the Navy stood up Unmanned Task Group 59.1, nicknamed “The Pioneers,” to focus on the deployment of unmanned systems in maritime operations teamed that can be teamed with specialized operators to “bolster maritime security across the Middle East region,” according to a press release.

Unmanned Task Group 59.1 is under the aegis of Task Force 59 in the U.S. Fifth Fleet Area of Operations.

 

At the time, Lt. Luis Echeverria, the commanding officer of the Navy’s Bahrain-based Pioneers, was assigned to “stress-test” unmanned surface vessels.

According to previous Navy Times reporting, a handful of unmanned vessels were launched from Aqaba, Jordan, into the Red Sea with a broad-edged surveillance mission: to observe the “pattern of life” in the region and increase maritime domain awareness.

With the latest Corsair attacks on the Iranian port, that mission has shifted to incorporate strikes.

US President Donald Trump has claimed that America is “taking over” the Strait of Hormuz from Iran, and will act as the “guardian angel” of the key waterway “and get paid for it.” Tehran has earlier declared the strait closed, blaming “hostile actions” by US forces.

 

Speaking by phone to ‘Fox & Friends’ on Monday, Trump said Iran was getting its “ass kicked” in the war against the US, asserting that the country’s navy, air force and missile capabilities had been “virtually annihilated” and listing senior Iranian leaders he said had been killed.

 

He added that US troops were continuing to carry out strikes against Iranian targets after he declared a ceasefire with Tehran to be “over” this past weekend.

 

“We’re taking over the strait. They’ve got nothing,” Trump said, arguing that Washington should have dealt with what he called the Iran threat “47 years ago.” He accused successive US presidents of having been “tapped along” by Tehran without taking decisive action.

 

Control of the Strait of Hormuz – a vital route for global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments – has emerged as a major flashpoint in the Middle East conflict, which was triggered by a surprise joint US Israeli attack on Iran on February 28 which cost the life of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several members of his immediate family.

 

Tehran has formally declared the strait closed, blaming “hostile actions” by US forces in a post on X on Monday by Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority, which said passage would only resume once “stability and calm” are restored.

 

Regular exchanges of strikes stopped after a ceasefire in April, which led to the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on June 17. Hostilities have since resumed as the sides clashed over the interpretation of the MoU and the status of the strait. The US continued striking targets in Iran early on Monday, marking the fourth consecutive night of bombardment. Iran responded by firing missiles and drones at US military sites in Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.

 

“We’ve had ten deals with these people, and so we’re just going to hit them very hard,” Trump claimed, adding that the US is going to “guard” Hormuz and going to get paid “a lot of money.”

 

Under the MoU, Iran pledged to use “its best efforts for the safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge” during the 60 day period and to negotiate with Oman over “the future administration and maritime services” in the strait. Tehran has maintained that it has the right to regulate traffic, collect tolls and require ships to use a designated route.

 

Washington has demanded that Iran declare the strait fully open and has been guiding vessels along a route closer to the Omani coast, which Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has denounced as “illegal.”

Germany will fund the purchase of 50,000 attack drones for the Ukrainian military, Reuters has reported, citing informed sources.

 

Ukraine has intensified its drone attacks on energy infrastructure and residential areas inside Russia in recent months amid continued setbacks on the front line, targeting the country with several hundred UAVs per day on average. Among other things, there has been an increase in incidents where FPV drones, including AI-guided models, have hit passenger buses and private vehicles.

 

On Wednesday, at least 11 civilians were killed and a dozen others wounded in drone strikes across Russia, according to local authorities. Moscow has responded to these attacks by launching large-scale missile and UAV raids against military-related targets in Ukraine.

 

The drone order made by the German government involves low-cost Shrike first-person-view UAVs, Reuters said in an article on Sunday.

 

The quadcopters in question are produced by Ukrainian manufacturer SkyFall and rely on software from US firm Auterion. They are designed to autonomously track and engage moving targets in the final phase of the flight, it explained.

 

Auterion CEO Lorenz Meier told the agency that the contract for the Shrike drones was worth about €90 million ($103 million) and that it had been bankrolled by “a European country.” Some of the UAVs have already been supplied to Kiev, and the rest are expected by the end of 2026, he said.

 

According to Meier, Auterion is providing software to at least 100,000 drones from various manufacturers this year, which are paid for by several Western governments and intended to be delivered to Ukraine. This includes a $50 million Pentagon contract for 33,000 UAVs that have already been supplied to Kiev, he added.

 

SkyFall confirmed Germany’s involvement in the deal when contacted by Reuters, but refrained from providing any further details. The defense ministries in Berlin and Kiev declined to comment.

 

Germany has been the biggest supporter of Ukraine in the EU since the escalation between Moscow and Kiev in February 2022, with the amount of military aid provided by Berlin amounting to some €55.5 billion ($63.4 billion), according to government data.

 

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said last week that “it is high time Berlin put an end to the aggressive war [it is waging against Russia] by proxy of the Kiev regime.”

A hostile drone struck an offshore oil drilling platform in Kuwaiti territorial waters on Sunday, injuring one worker and causing material damage, while three northern land border centres were also attacked, Kuwait’s military said.

 

The incidents took place during a fresh exchange of strikes between Iran and the United States, following heightened tensions over shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

 

In a statement, Major General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, spokesperson for Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence, said three northern land border centres were hit in what he described as a “criminal aggressive attack.”

 

The attacks caused material damage, but no casualties were reported at the border sites.

 

The ministry said a hostile drone also targeted an offshore drilling platform operated by Kuwait Oil Company in Kuwaiti territorial waters. The attack damaged the platform and injured one worker, who is receiving medical treatment.

 

The relevant authorities immediately began responding to the incidents in coordination with other government agencies, the ministry said.

 

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said it remains fully prepared and has taken all necessary measures to protect the country’s security and territory.

 

The incidents took place as Iran launched attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Jordan, which Tehran said were in response to repeated U.S. “aggression.”

 

Earlier, Kuwait said it had intercepted hostile aerial targets after they entered its airspace. Explosions were heard during the interception operations.

 

The offshore facility targeted in the attack is a Kuwait Oil Company drilling platform located in Kuwaiti territorial waters.

 

Offshore drilling platforms are important energy assets used for oil production, making their security a key concern in the Gulf, one of the world’s most important oil-producing regions.

 

Kuwaiti authorities have not identified who carried out the attacks. Investigations are underway, and the armed forces said they remain on high readiness while monitoring the security situation and protecting the country’s border and energy infrastructure.

Illegal drone activity caused a brief delay in aerial firefighting during the Elephant Fire, according to the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office, risking greater harm.

 

LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. — Illegal drone activity led to a brief delay in some air support during the Elephant Fire suppression, the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office reports.

 

The office said witnesses observed an illegal drone operating in the area of the Elephant Fire while firefighter aircraft were actively engaged in the firefight.

 

An investigation also found that the drone was operating at an illegal altitude within the Temporary Flight Restriction in place due to the wildfire.

 

“These restrictions are in place to protect firefighting personnel and aircraft operating in hazardous conditions,” the office said in a statement.

 

The Elephant Fire is currently burning in parts of Lassen County and has grown to about 6,436 acres, according to the National Forest Service. There are active evacuation orders in the area.

 

During the drone incident, some of the aerial support had to be grounded until authorities deemed there was no threat to the aircraft.

 

“Even a brief interruption of aerial operations can delay fire suppression efforts and place firefighters and the public at greater risk,” the office said.

 

Authorities said they were able to identify the suspected pilot of the drone. The sheriff’s office said once an investigation is complete, they will hand it over to the Sierra County District Attorney’s Office to decide on criminal charges.

Let’s follow the timeline. According to the official story: 911 call from his DC residence at 8:30pm ET on July 11 for suspected cardiac arrest. He “died at home.”

So let’s go thru the timeline. Lindsey departed Dulles International Airport at around 0700 local on July 9 — the flight from Dulles to Warsaw is 9 hours. He took the overnight train that departed Warsaw at 18:15 hours local on July 9th and arrived in Kyiv between 09:45–10:45 local on July 10th.

 

So Lindsey Graham arrives in Kyiv by 11 am Friday morning. He meets with Zelensky and tours a drone factory. Then we are asked to believe that he returns to Washington, DC after spending less than 24 hours on the ground. Again, I call bullshit!!

 

The earliest train back to Warsaw departs Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi at 07:40–08:00 on the 11th and arrives Przemyśl Główny in the afternoon (~17:00–18:00). That is at least nine hours. That would make it roughly 1100 hours in Washington, DC. Let’s assume he has an hour to get to the airport and the plane takes off at 1900 hours local from Poland, which is 1200 hours in Washington. The flight going west takes 10 hours… This means the earliest the plane could have landed at Dulles is 2200 hours on the 11th. That is 2 ½ hours after Graham reportedly died at home.

 

I emphasize that the normal travel to Kyiv by members of Congress, members of NATO and the EU, and even Joe Biden is to take a plane to Poland and then hop a train to Kyiv. It is, normally, at least a 20 hour trip. In order for Senator Graham to have arrived at home by 2000 hours local in Washington, DC, he would have had to depart from Kyiv at 0700 hours local Ukraine. I have been unable to find any schedule that shows a train departing Kyiv at that hour.

A car secreted the former president away to a safe house after that attack, but he later left the safe house after growing disillusioned with Israel’s plan to install him, the report said.

 

Ahmadinejad’s current status is unclear, according to the report.

He went on to say the incident accelerated government transparency and described it as one of the key reasons recent UAP disclosures have gathered momentum.

"This event was described as incontrovertible proof that there is a real phenomenon here." However, the government documents that Flowers describes never specifically mention a lure.

The released records describe an exercise and sightings, but never state that the mission was designed to attract UAP. The date, military installation, coordinates, and surrounding landmarks remain heavily redacted.

 

Dramatic orb encounters

Happening from May to July, Flowers has used the 4 evidence drops to support his interpretation of the events.

Taken from the second batch of evidence in May, a senior intelligence official recounted the helicopter mission. Documents describe officials searching a sensitive weapons testing area after reports of glowing orbs and unexplained noises.

"Our mission was to investigate loud thuds heard in the mountains on the test range, which coincided with Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) sightings reported over the previous several nights," read the account.

 

The crew searched the mountains and even discovered a massive cave. Investigators initially looked for conventional explanations, including rocket debris, before the aerial encounters began, whereby a “super-hot” orb reportedly approached the helicopter.

Infrared sensors tracked an object moving rapidly before appearing within roughly 10 feet of the aircraft."What followed was a series of close UAP encounters lasting over an hour,” the testimony revealed, describing the “orange orbs swarming in all directions against the backdrop of the mountain."

 

In an extraordinary account of events, the official also said that "it seemed the same orbs we had encountered were now ‘chasing’ the fighters.

”The witness claims he didn’t take photos, as they were focussed on assessing the level of threat, but that “we were virtually speechless after these observations.”

 

Factoring in Burlison's ten cents

Rep. Eric Burlison added credence to Flowers’ claims by revealing that Congress received a classified briefing. The Republican lawmaker claims officials described a successful attempt to create ideal conditions for a UAP encounter.

"They basically tried to set up a perfect-case scenario… It was very successful."

Burlison emphasized the event shifted attitudes inside the government: "This is when the whole conversation changed, because that event was one that no one could deny."

He also said numerous intelligence personnel witnessed the event and claimed the briefing involved highly credible officials from the US intelligence community.

 

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise confirmed that a classified briefing took place earlier this year, during which intelligence officials briefed Congress on footage and reports from the helicopter incidents.

And while nothing at this stage directly proves Flowers’ interpretation, the UFO narrative does seem to have picked up traction, especially if the dots can become connected.

So when a rash of strange sightings was reported in the skies over Washington D.C. that summer, the press and the public demanded answers.

Were these unexplained radar blips, crafts that in some cases outran jets, part of a nuclear-armed Soviet invasion—a very real threat at the height of the Red Scare? Or were they evidence of something far more mysterious?

 

The Washington, D.C. sightings of July 1952, also known as “the Big Flap,” hold a special place in the history of unidentified flying objects.

Major American newspapers were reporting multiple credible sightings by civilian and military radar operators and pilots—so many that a special intelligence unit of the U.S. Air Force was sent in to investigate.

What they found—or didn’t find—along with the Air Force’s official explanation, fueled some of the earliest conspiracy theories about a government plot to hide evidence of alien life.

 

UFO mania takes hold

It all started in 1947, when a search-and-rescue pilot named Kenneth Arnold reported nine "saucer-like things…flying like geese in a diagonal chainlike line" at speeds exceeding 1,000 m.p.h. near Mount Rainier in Washington State.

Within weeks, “flying saucer” sightings had been reported in 40 other states.

 

In the name of national security, Air Force General Nathan Twining launched Project SIGN (originally named Project SAUCER) in 1948, the first official military-intelligence program to collect information on UFO sightings.

Its investigators dismissed the vast majority as hoaxes or misidentifications of known aircraft or natural phenomena. But a few cases remained “unexplained.”

 

By 1952, the UFO-investigation unit was called Project Blue Book, led by Captain Edward Ruppelt at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

Ruppelt and his team would probably have continued to investigate a couple dozen sightings a month if not for the April 1952 issue of LIFE magazine.

Just above its knockout cover shot of Marilyn Monroe ran an equally eye-catching headline: “There is a Case for Interplanetary Saucers.”

 

The article, written with Ruppelt’s full cooperation, explained the Air Force’s national-security interest in UFOs.

And it made a convincing case—through the colorful retelling of 10 unexplained UFO “incidents”—that these unidentified objects were extraterrestrial in origin.

As one rocket scientist working on “secret” projects for the U.S. told LIFE: "I am completely convinced that they have an out-of-world basis."

 

According to The Washington Post, the number of UFO sightings reported to the Air Force jumped more than sixfold, from 23 in March 1952 to 148 in June.

By July, the precise conditions were in place for a wildfire of UFO mania: widespread Cold War anxiety, mainstream press coverage of unexplained UFO incidents and a healthy dose of “midsummer madness.” All that was needed was a spark.

Mysterious radar blips buzzing over the White House

Shortly before midnight on Saturday, July 19, 1952, air-traffic controller Edward Nugent at Washington National Airport spotted seven slow-moving objects on his radar screen far from any known civilian or military flight paths.

He called over his supervisor and joked about a “fleet of flying saucers.” At the same time, two more air-traffic controllers at National spotted a strange bright light hovering in the distance that suddenly zipped away at incredible speed.

 

At nearby Andrews Air Force Base, radar operators were getting the same unidentified blips—slow and clustered at first, then racing away at speeds exceeding 7,000 mph.

Looking out his tower window, one Andrews controller saw what he described as an “orange ball of fire trailing a tail.” A commercial pilot, cruising over the Virginia and Washington, D.C. area, reported six streaking bright lights, “like falling stars without tails.”

 

When radar operators at National watched the objects buzz past the White House and Capitol building, the UFO jokes stopped.

Two F-94 interceptor jets were scrambled, but each time they approached the locations appearing on the radar screens, the mysterious blips would disappear. By dawn of July 20, the objects were gone.

 

‘I tried to make contact with the bogies’

Nobody bothered to tell Ruppelt, the Air Force’s lead Project Blue Book investigator, about the sightings. He found out a few days later when he flew into Washington, D.C. and read news reports.

Ruppelt tried to get out to National and Andrews to interview radar operators and air-traffic controllers, but was denied a government-issued car or even cab fare. Frustrated, he flew back to Ohio with nothing.

 

The very next Saturday, the UFOs were back over the nation’s capital. Again, Ruppelt found out through a phone call from a reporter, and immediately called on two Air Force colleagues to check out the situation at National.

The same radar blips were back, and radar operators wondered out loud if the dozen or so objects on their screens couldn’t be caused by a temperature inversion, a common phenomenon in D.C.’s hot, muggy summer months.

 

A temperature inversion occurs when a layer of warm air forms in the low atmosphere, trapping cooler air beneath.

Radar signals can bounce off this layer at shallow angles and mistakenly show near-ground objects as appearing in the sky. Ruppelt’s Air Force colleagues, however, were convinced that the objects on the radar screen weren’t mirages, but solid aircraft.

 

To be safe, two more F-94 jets were scrambled to chase down the unidentified targets appearing on radar screens at both National and Andrews.

A game of high-speed Whack-a-Mole ensued, where the jets would race to a location targeted by radar, only for the blips to vanish. Finally, one of the jet pilots caught sight of a bright light in the distance and gave chase.

 

“I tried to make contact with the bogies below 1,000 feet,” the pilot later told reporters. “I saw several bright lights.

I was at maximum speed, but even then I had no closing speed. I ceased chasing them because I saw no chance of overtaking them.”

International law and almost every country except the US regards Israel’s use of “settlers” to confiscate Palestinian villages in the West Bank as totally illegal under international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention. The UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council have adopted numerous resolutions declaring Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory illegal under international law. But like the League of Nations, the United Nations has no enforcement power.

 

Iran is the only government in the world of 200 countries that says it stands in defense of Palestine. But it remains to be seen if Iran will actually do anything.

Ross Coulthart: Pentagon knows ‘a lot more’ about UAP than it admits

The Pentagon has declassified 40 additional UFO files containing information dating back to the 1940s.

The files released on Friday include a conference between scientists at Los Alamos National Lab about green Fireballs sighted near the facility.

“Something is taking a very close intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance interest in nuclear weapons and nuclear power,” said NewsNation Special Correspondent Ross Coulthart.

The host of Reality Check spoke with Hena Doba on Sunday about the files and how the details about sightings near nuclear plants and weapons are intriguing.

“One of them is over the Pantex nuclear plant in Amarillo, Texas,” said Coulthart. “It’s one of the most sensitive nuclear sites in America. One of the most highly protected.”

 

The diamond-shaped object was witnessed over the site by security personnel and a local journalist back in 2015. The file reports it made no noise and hovered with no visible means of propulsion.

“It hovered with apparent impunity over what is one of the most sensitive facilities in America, and that raised an extremely serious security concern,” Coulthart said.

 

Not only are we learning that the Pentagon hasn’t been ignoring these cases, but we’re also discovering that the agency was also anticipating them

“They’ve been taking it very, very seriously, and right back in 1947, it’s quite clear,” said Coulthart.

“The Pentagon’s investigators from the U.S. Air Force were anticipating these sightings. They could almost predict when they were going to happen.”

 

Coulthart said it’s clear from all the files the Pentagon has declassified that the agency has been looking at UFOs and other aerial phenomena for the last 80 years.

“They clearly know a heck of a lot more than they’re letting on, and really what we are being given, I think, really is the least sensational videos of what I’m being told they’re really sitting on.”

Hanington: Are we seeing alien mega-structures every night?

What a startling discovery it would be if some of the stars we see on a clear night are actually glowing away with life and we are just too limited to realize it!

The old saying "can't see the forest for the trees" may hold true in this situation, because some of the light we see may be coming from something built around them by intelligent beings!

This is a recent line of reasoning for astronomers who have recorded the temperature of colder stars of our Milky Way that may not exactly fit into the predictive charts for such astronomical suns.

 

A new study by astrophysicist Amrinezam Amiri at the University of Arkansas looks at these lower output stars. The study suggests the stars could be encircled by giant energy harvesting structures built by advanced alien civilizations.

It is conjectured that if a civilization used their full effort (instead of engaging in idiotic wars) to construct a massive sphere that collects the energy output from their central sun, that is the reason some stars may look cooler than they are supposed to.

 

Of course, reading this for the first time probably sounds wild from our Earth viewpoint, but let’s take a closer look, because stranger things have been proposed in the history of science that suddenly have come true.

As an example, consider that when meteorologist Alfred Wegener proposed in 1912 that the Earth's continents were floating and slowly drifting around the globe, the scientific community could not stop laughing at him. Now we take it for granted.

 

In an article published in the April edition of the journal Universe, Professor Amiri looked at the spectra of two promising classes of host stars - white dwarfs and red M-dwarfs types - and proposed that astronomers should take recent infrared sky surveys, such as those by WISE (NASA’s Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer) and the Spitzer Space Telescope, and investigate any unexpected infrared excesses that may suggest the presence of such megastructures that are sometimes called Dyson spheres.

 

Could this even be possible - and what is a Dyson sphere?

 

Let’s look at the possible stars that may have such “man-made” energy collectors first. A white dwarf is an extremely dense, Earth-sized remnant of a low mass star, much like our own Sun, that has exhausted its nuclear hydrogen fuel and has shrunk in size.

Squeezing about half the Sun’s mass into a sphere roughly the size of the Earth, a white dwarf represents one of the densest states of matter in the universe. Because this type of star is relatively small, it would be easier to build a structure around it to capture all its daily energy output.

With the goal of free clean energy for millions of years to come, why wouldn’t a properly organized planet, all working together, strive to meet such a challenge?

 

The other star mentioned by Amiri is the M-dwarf star, sometimes called red dwarfs. These are the most common stars in the universe, making up about 75% of all stars in our Milky Way.

They are small, dim, relatively cool, and have long lives. They have diameters ranging from 10% up to about 60% of that of our Sun.

 

Astronomers say they are failed stars because they have not really turned on yet, not having enough gravitational pressure to ignite internal nuclear fusion reactions.

The coldest M-dwarf star, WISE J062309.94−045624.6, has a temperature of roughly 797 Celsius – colder than a campfire. Most, however, are around 3,000 Celsius.

This concept of just gathering energy by placing a structure around a star was first proposed by Olaf Stapledon in the science fiction story The Star Maker, published in 1937.

The name used nowadays, a Dyson sphere, is attributed to physicist Freeman Dyson and stems from his 1960 paper "Search for Artificial Stellar Sources of Infrared Radiation."

 

In this paper, Dyson speculated that such mechanisms would be the logical consequence of the escalating energy needs of a technological civilization and would be a necessity for its long-term survival (look at the uproar involving energy needs of future data centers).

Dyson suggested that such orbiting structures should be included in any search for intelligent life within the universe by listing how an object that intercepts such energy from the star would re-radiate it at lower temperatures (more infrared), corresponding more closely to the environmental temperature level of the inhabitants of such envisioned places.

 

Truthfully, nobody has ever seen such a structure that traps the entire energy output of a star, but the question arises, does it have to be a full enclosure?

Perhaps the object is composed of many smaller independent structures traveling on independent orbits around the star - an arrangement that has become known as a Dyson Swarm.

 

Do any such dimming effects occur with these stars? The answer is yes - one star in particular, Tabby’s Star, that displays erratic, unprecedented drops in brightness of up to 22% for no known reason.

 

As mentioned earlier, such encircling objects would absorb and re-radiate energy from the star, and the wavelengths of such re-radiated energy would not correspond at all with the star's spectral type.

That is, it would not fit on the Hertzsprung–Russell (H–R) diagram – a foundational scatter plot used in astronomy that maps the relationship between a star's absolute magnitude (the brightness you see) and its temperature.

 

Amiri has calculated in his paper where these Dyson sphere stars would show up on the diagram.

Over the years, the SETI program, as well as Fermilab, have looked for such infrared-heavy spectra from thousands of stars. In 2006 Fermilab discovered 17 potential "ambiguous" candidates, of which four were "amusing but still questionable."

Wikipedia says that on October 14, 2015, Planet Hunters, a group of private citizen scientists, discovered unusual light fluctuations of the star KIC 8462852, raising press speculation that a Dyson sphere may have been discovered.

 

In Amiri’s paper mentioned above, he suggested that for such a structure around a red M-dwarf star, “the habitable zone is typically located between 0.05 and 0.3 AU, allowing a Dyson sphere to be built compactly at moderate material cost.”

Amri also said that for white dwarfs, “the corresponding radius can be (only a) few million kilometers, say ten Earth-Moon distances, reducing structural complexity and making full energy capture more feasible.”

Such groupings would show periodic transit signs, blocking out the star’s light, if it was, say, a half-built assembly.

 

In a video on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mVZuZq46y2A, famous theoretical physicist Michio Kaku of the City College of New York sums up the Dyson sphere controversy very neatly by breaking down civilizations into three groups.

It is the Group 2 civilizations that are so advanced they can build such mechanism that actually encircle a star. These are advanced in technology by millions of years from where we are now.

Group 3 can encircle a galaxy. Group 1 civilizations do the things found in Star Trek.

 

Pressed as to where the Earth is on this science evolutionary scale (actually the Kardashev Scale), Kaku said, somewhat sadly, that we are at maybe a 0.7.

UK Formally Designates Iran’s IRGC, Russia’s GRU Volunteers as Banned Terrorist Groups

LONDON (AP) – A series of arson and vandalism attacks on Jewish sites in Britain were the work of a proxy group backed by Iran, the U.K. government said Monday.

 

The government said it is banning the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right, or IMCR, also known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia.

 

It also banned Iran´s powerful paramilitary Revolutionary Guard as a threat to national security. Committing sabotage on behalf of the groups will be punishable by up to life imprisonment after Parliament approves the legislation, which the government expects to take place by the end of the week.

 

Security Minister Angela Eagle said in a statement that the IMCR has claimed seven attacks in the U.K. The group had said online that it was responsible for a string of arson attacks on Jewish sites in London in recent months, including fires at synagogues and Jewish charity ambulances, as well as a Persian-language media organization critical of Iran´s government. No one were injured in the blazes.

 

“Sitting behind IMCR were members of Iran´s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Qods Force, who almost certainly directed IMCR attacks across Europe,” she said. Quds, or Jerusalem, Force is the Guard´s expeditionary unit.

 

The group sprang up online earlier this year and has also claimed responsibility for synagogue attacks in Belgium and the Netherlands.

 

Law enforcement officials and intelligence experts say Iran-backed proxy groups are behind a growing number of attacks in Europe, most targeting the Jewish community and Persian-language media critical of Iran´s Islamic government.

 

They typically work by recruiting members of criminal groups to carry out sabotage and other attacks.

 

Authorities said Monday that Britain is also designating the GRU Volunteer Corps, a group controlled by Russia´s military intelligence agency, as a national security threat.The U.K. says the group conducts foreign intelligence collection and hostile covert operations on behalf of the GRU.

 

Authorities said the new measures will make it easier for police and intelligence agencies to tackle what they call “thugs for hire,” or anyone supporting the proxy groups.

 

“We have already taken tough action against the Iranian regime and those linked to it, and against Russian operatives and networks targeting our country. These new powers will make it easier to prosecute and lock up anyone carrying out their dirty work here in Britain,” Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a statement.

 

The bans come under a new U.K. law that took effect last week, giving the government powers to tackle proxy organizations carrying out hostile activity on behalf of foreign states.

 

Earlier this month, two Romanian men were given prison sentences over the stabbing of a journalist from a Persian-language television station, an attack the judge said was carried out on behalf of the Iranian state.

 

There was no immediate comment from Iran.

Nobody knows Henry Cuellar better than Donald J. Trump. I studied his records, learned about his financing, and listened to his two wonderful daughters beg me to help the mother and father that they love. Their letters were heart wrenching and beautiful, but their father had problems that nobody could solve but me, and the daughters very correctly and respectfully knew that. Henry’s views on these subjects were not strong, but they were better than other Democrats. Biden and his crew of Radical Left Thugs did not like those things about Cuellar, and they worked hard, and expected to put him in jail for the rest of his life. Being an expert on Political Weaponization, based on what the Biden Losers had done to me, and without having ever met Henry Cuellar, and in particular because of the magnificence of the letter drawn by his daughters asking me to help “Mom and Dad,” I gave him and Mrs. Cuellar a full and unconditional Pardon. In doing so, I never assumed he would be running for Office again, and certainly not as a Democrat, who essentially destroyed his life even with the Pardon given, but he did, and now, despite doing him by far the greatest favor of his life, 20 years of FREEDOM, I am fighting him for his seat in Congress because his views are not nearly as good or strong as Judge Tano Tijerina, who is much more powerful on the Border issue, cutting Taxes, our Military, and just about everything else than is Henry Cuellar.
