I believe the poster of "it's the genes" was referring to the well-documented fact via twin studies etc. that personality–abilities and proclivities–is largely heritable. This anon worked on the human genome project. Its limited use and failure to deliver on biological therapeutics has no bearing on heritability studies, which take into account tens of thousands of genes working in concert.
