After Brother's Sudden Release From Detention, Alwaleed Says MbS Will Be "100% Vindicated" In Khashoggi Murder

Billionaire Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal - who was reportedly strung up and beaten by US mercenaries during the Saudi Arabian "purge" exactly one year ago Sunday - said on Sunday that an official investigation into the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi will exonerate the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) "100%".

Speaking with Fox News's Maria Bartiromo, Alwaleed said "I ask Saudi Arabia now publicly, through your program, to have the investigation made public as soon as possible," adding "I believe the Saudi crown prince will be 100 percent vindicated and exonerated."

Regarding last year's purge during which dozens of princes and senior Saudi figures were rounded up and detained at the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh in an "anti-corruption" crackdown - only to be freed after giving up a majority of their wealth, Alwaleed chalked his imprisonment up to a "misunderstanding," which has been "forgiven and forgotten." before touting MbS as "for real," and that the Crown Prince is "changing Saudi Arabia in a very revolutionary manner."

Of note, Khashoggi has been described as having been "close" to Prince Alwaleed.

In 2010, Alwaleed tapped Khashoggi to head up his now-defunct Al-Arab news channel - only to be removed months later after the network ran an article criticizing Salafism - Saudi Arabia's official state religion. Prior to that, "Khashoggi was editor-in-chief of Alwatan Newspaper, media adviser to Prince Turki Al Faisal at both embassies in London and Washington DC, and has been known as a correspondent and writer since his graduation from the University of the State of Indiana in 1982," according to Gulf News.

Another misunderstanding?

48 hours before Alwaleed's glowing defense of MbS, his brother, Saudi Prince Khaled bin Talal - believed to be in detention since January, was reportedly released according to CNN.

On Friday his sons and niece posted photos of the prince with family, congratulating him on his "safe return."

The prince is the brother of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal – one of a group of royal family members and businessmen who were held in the lavish Ritz Carlton in Riyadh last year as part of an anti-corruption purge. -CNN

After his release, Alwaleed's daughter, Reem bing Alwaleed, tweeted "Thank God for your safety."

Believes Fox is fake and won't look at ANY fox articles despite efforts to convince that ALL outlets have fake info and must be evaluated with commmon sense (even from fox). Believes [hussein] is responsible for the economy & growth happening now. Believes D'Sousa is still a traitor and so discounts anything with him as source. Believes R's want to destroy healthcare and take away rights. Believes the caravan is harmless and only looking for help. Believes that POTUS lies with every breath/tweet. Nearly 80 children kidnapped in Cameroon’s English-speaking separatist region

Dozens of people, most of them children, have been kidnapped from a school in the city of Bamenda in Cameroon’s northwestern Anglophone region, which is struggling with a separatist insurgency.

The conflict between the insurgents and government security forces intensified last year after a government crackdown on peaceful protesters. The fighting has displaced tens of thousands of people, with many fleeing Bamenda for the calmer Francophone regions.

• Ask a LOT of questions; allow them to “sell themselves” on new ideas (people never argue with their own ideas, but they subconsciously “push back” against other people’s ideas).

• Always play dumb; let THEM become the expert.

• Ask for their help “solving a puzzle”; let them BE the expert. For example, "Hey, Dad… you've been around a lot longer than I have. Can you remember any time in our history when the top dogs in the C_A, F_I and D_J have all been fired within the same year? This seems weird to me. Does Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Ohr, Brennan, Clapper and that group have anything in common? I'm lost here, can you help me understand this mess?" Let HIM dig and become the "expert". Works every time.

• Understand that the deeper someone is dug into the opposing viewpoint, the farther they will snap into the other direction once they wake up.

• If someone shares an idea that you believe is wrong/ignorant, do NOT push back; ask, “help me see what you’re seeing”, or “help me understand that better”. The more someone tries to explain something that has no basis, the higher the likelihood they will eventually change their own mind (which YOU can NOT do for/to them).

• Once someone shows a thirst for new knowledge, invite them to share their ideas with a third person while you are also present (the more they view themselves as a mentor/teacher, the more this reinforces their new beliefs).

• When stuck, offer to “switch sides” and debate the topic from their point of view and have them argue from your point of view. This often helps them talk themselves out of their original viewpoint.

• When you have to make a statement (instead of asking a question), open it with a “softening statement”: “Do you think it may be possible that …”, or, “I’m not sure this is right, but I just read that …” This provides possibilities for you and the other person.

• As often as possible, only discuss events that have already happened. When forced to discuss what you think MIGHT happen in the future, use softening statements first (see paragraph immediately above this one).

• Do NOT let the conversation turn into a Red vs. Blue argument. Keep repeating that there’s corruption on both sides of the aisle (point to the huge number of Republican resignations/not running for re-election for both senators and members of congress). Trump Goes Head-To-Head With Reporters On Global Warming

President Donald Trump pushed back on reporters who confronted him with a government report on global warming, saying he knew of “scientists that very much dispute it.”

“Well, I think we’ve contributed, we certainly contribute, I mean, there’s certain pollutants that go up and there’s certain things that happen,” Trump said in an interview with Axios reporters that aired on HBO Sunday night.

Axios reporters thought bringing a copy of the most recent National Climate Assessment (NCA) would make it harder for Trump to question its findings. It didn’t work.

Axios’s Jonathan Swan said scientists “say the overwhelming cause for the last 50 years” is human activity, to which Trump responded, “I don’t necessarily agree.”

The latest NCA, released in 2017, says “there is no convincing alternative explanation” for recent global warming other than human emissions of greenhouse gases. The report was put together by federal agencies and outside climate scientists.

Trump’s critics feared he would try to censor the NCA or even prevent it from being released, but the president stumped his detractors by releasing the report on time last year.

Trump seemed to take a “lukewarmer” stance on global warming during the interview. “Lukewarmers” agree that humans contribute to warming, but that contribution is probably much less than the NCA and many other scientists say it is.

“Is there climate change? Yeah. Will it go back like this, I mean will it change back? Probably,” Trump said. “Man and women, we do have an impact, but I don’t believe the impact is merely what some say and other scientists that dispute those findings very strongly.”

Trump also stressed that the climate science community is not monolithic when it comes to global warming. Indeed, while most scientists likely back the findings of the NCA and United Nations assessments, some scientists do dispute them.

Trump said he wanted all points of view to be included in government climate reports.

“I want everybody to report whatever they want, but ultimately I’m the one that makes that final decision. I can also give you reports where people very much dispute that,” Trump said. “You know, you do have scientists that very much dispute it. I want to make sure that we have the cleanest air.”

Former Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt tried to conduct a “red team” exercise for climate science, much like the military or intelligence communities do to test strategies.

However, White House officials killed the “red team” exercise before it could get going. Pruitt has since resigned from office and his successor, Andrew Wheeler, has shown no interest in reviving such an exercise.

Following the February 14, 2018, Parkland high school attack, Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) encouraged Florida lawmakers to get all the gun control they can.

He claimed the criminal use of guns in schools will not end until AR-15s and other commonly owned semiautomatic firearms are banned.

Tragically, the deadliest shooting at an institution of higher learning–the April 16, 2007, Virginia Tech attack–cost the lives of 32 people and was carried out by an individual armed with two handguns.

The Tallahassee Democrat reports that Florida’s legislative session was close to ending when the Parkland shooting occurred, so Nelson encouraged them to get all the gun they could get with the time remaining, then push an “assault weapons” ban upon reconvening in December.

He stressed that criminal use of guns in schools will not end until private possession of commonly owned semiautomatic firearms are banned: “You are not going to solve the problem until you get the assault rifles off the street and until you can get a criminal background check on every transfer of a gun.”

His attack on private gun sales overlooks the fact that Parkland high school attacker did not acquire his gun via a private sale. Rather, he got is via a background check at retail.

In fact, every high profile attacker since the Virginia Tech attack–school, workplace, or otherwise–has acquired his or her guns via a background check except two. Both of those two, the Sandy Hook Elementary School attacker and the Clackamas Town Center attacker, stole their guns.

The bottom line is that Nelson’s gun controls would do absolutely nothing to stop the attacks we have witnessed in the 21st century, and that is because those attacks are not due to a certain type of gun or certain means of firearm acquisition. Sadly, they are due to soft targets created by gun-free zones and the Democrats insidious gun control agenda, which does little to disarm criminals but goes a long way in discouraging law-abiding citizens from acquiring guns.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not notify President Trump that the Department of Justice would join a lawsuit challenging Obamacare's rules on pre-exising conditions, the president told Axios on HBO.
