Czech politicians want to ban Islam completely as it ‘colonises society’

Political leaders in Czech Republic have previously condemned Islam in strong terms. Now, politicians in the Czech Parliament are discussing the complete ban of the religion.

If someone calls for the killing of infidels and Jews, then it is not a religion of peace, says MP Jiri Kobza.

He and his party Freedom and Direct Democracy, which is one of the larger in parliament, believe Islam is not just a religion but also a violent ideology that should be banned.

We have suggested that all ideologies that promote hatred and violence should be banned. One of the ideologies is Islam. And then we have fascism and Nazism, he says.

He points out that Muslims neither want nor will integrate into non-Muslim societies. It is not migration – it is colonisation.

A strong mistrust of Islam exists throughout the political spectrum in the Czech Republic, where only 0.5 percent of the population are Muslim.

We do not want more Muslims in Czech Republic, the Social Democratic then Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka noted in an interview last year.

Even Czech President Milos Zeman, who is also a Social Democrat, has strongly condemned the Middle Eastern religion.

Among other things, he has said that Islam simply does not belong in Europe.

In connection with the asylum chaos in 2015, Zeman noted during an Islam critical demonstration that the Muslim migrants who then made it to Europe came from a “culture of murderers and religious hatred.”

European Parliament calls for the Nord Stream 2 construction to be cancelled

PARIS, December 12. /TASS/. The European Parliament has called for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to be cancelled. This is according to the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on Wednesday following the report on the Implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. The Strasbourg meeting of the plenary session of the European Parliament was broadcast on the EP’s website.

"MEPs praise Ukraine for good cooperation in the energy sector and its achievements in the areas of energy efficiency and renewables, while pointing out the need to continue to reform, particularly in the gas and electricity market. With Ukraine playing a crucial role in the European energy supply network, MEPs condemn the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline which bypasses Ukraine, "as it is a political project that poses a threat to European energy security". They therefore call for it to be cancelled," according to the resolution.

About Nord Stream 2

The Nord Stream 2 project includes construction of two gas pipeline lines with a total capacity of 55 bln cubic meters of gas per year from the coast of Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany. The cost of construction is estimated at 9.5 bln euro, the launch of the pipeline is expected before the end of 2019.

Nord Stream 2 AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom, is the project’s operator. Gazprom’s partners - Germany’s Wintershall and Uniper, Austria’s OMV, France’s Engie and Royal Dutch Shell (the UK Britain and the Netherlands) are to finance 50% of the project.

The pipeline will bypass transit countries - Ukraine, Belarus, Poland and other Eastern European and Baltic countries - through the exclusive economic zones and territorial waters of five countries - Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.

Denmark is the only country that has not granted its permit for the construction of the pipeline in its waters. The country plans either to block or to postpone the implementation of the project. The project operator has already submitted an application for an alternative gas pipeline route that will pass through the exclusive economic zone of Denmark to the north-west of Bornholm.

In 1994, the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) began the construction of the International Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) on a 75-acre site, west of San Ysidro in the Tijuana River Valley, on the US side of the Mexican border. The project, authorised by the US Congress in 1989 and formally agreed between the two countries in July 1990, was part of a regional approach to solve a long-standing problem.

Uncontrolled discharges of up to 38,000m³/day of raw wastewater from Mexico flowed down the Tijuana River and out through the National Estuarine Research Reserve to pollute the beaches of south San Diego County and Playas de Tijuana.

With a population then estimated in excess of 1.2 million and increasing at a rate of 6% a year, the local wastewater infrastructure in the Tijuana region was in need of a radical overhaul.

Completed in spring 1997, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on 18 April and the plant came properly on-line in May. The plant is owned by the US section of the IBWC and operated by Veolia Water North America.

The original intention was to provide a plant capable of delivering consistent secondary treatment, with activated sludge selected as the preferred method. However, in the end, building the advanced primary facility alone exhausted the $239m of project funding.

The second element of the project started in 1995 when the city of San Diego commenced a federal government construction contract for the South Bay Ocean Outfall (SBOO). Combined trenching and boring techniques were used and more than 400,000t of rock was placed over a 1.5-mile section of exposed pipeline for protection.

Completed in December 1998 at a cost approaching $200m, the finished structure extends along the sea-bed near Imperial Beach emerging approximately 5.5km (3.5 miles) offshore at a depth of 30m (100ft). Currently, 95,000m³ (25 million US gallons) of effluent from the IWTP is discharged from it daily.

The outfall also discharges effluent from the South Bay Water Reclamation Plant (SBWRP), a facility which belongs to San Diego and was opened in May 2002.
