THOMAS — Freddy Montano Paz, 29, Calixto Tumbaco, 41, Mariano Abregon, 42, and Hector Hernandez Saucedo, 48, appeared Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ruth Miller for arraignment and detention hearings on charges of conspiracy to possess and possession of a controlled substance on board a vessel subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, United States Attorney Gretchen C.F. Shappert announced. At the conclusion of the hearings, Magistrate Miller ordered all four defendant detained pending trial.

The USCG crew first sighted the semi-submercible vessel on May 10, 2019, approximately 250 nautical miles northwest of Esmeraldes, Ecuador. The vessel did not display any indicia indicating its nationality.

After being detected, the four occupants— two Columbian nationals, one Ecuadorian national, and one Mexican national– began tossing the bales of suspected narcotics overboard their vessel. The USCG disabled the semi-submercible vessel, and successfully seized 40 bales of suspected narcotics, including bales that were tossed overboard. The 40 recovered bales contained approximately 1,535 kilograms of a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine.

This case is being investigated by the USCG and the Drug Enforcement Agency, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Delia L. Smith.

Gaza and Israel Violence: Why has it started again?

If you are paying attention to the situation in Gaza right now, you may have heard that there is yet again fighting. Israel has struck the Gaza Strip and the armed factions in Gaza are fighting back.

The recent round of, what have described as, “hostilities” have not simply emerged as a product of “Hamas rocket fire”, the claim we hear every single time there is fighting between the armed factions from Gaza and Israel.

This is not an unusual occurrence and it was not simply Israel “responding to rocket fire” as you are reading in all the article headlines for major publications in the West.

Now, putting aside all of the most important context of the illegally imposed – nearly 14 year long – siege upon Gaza and all the catastrophes visited upon its population, here is the most recent context that the Zionist loving media of empire are withholding from you.

First and foremost, the situation in Gaza has been in a state of what Israel calls a “relevant calm”, implying of course that bombs and rockets are not dropping. This is due to a defacto ceasefire agreement between the Hamas government and Israel, the conditions of which were negotiated via the proxy of Egypt and the influence of the United Nations. This ceasefire was first reported upon as official on the 28th of June, having been agreed upon the night prior to this.

This came after months of back and forths on what was to happen next, with Hamas demanding terms for a ceasefire and Israel refusing to agree. This complication came following the last round of fighting which took place in early May, resulting in the murder of 29 Palestinians in Gaza and an undisclosed number of Israeli soldiers, as well as 4 Israeli settlers. Since then Israel has been injuring to the tune of at least 1000 protesters in Gaza, killing fishermen, breaching the Gaza fence to attack farm lands and constantly reducing – or briefly extending – the zone of nautical miles in which Palestinians are permitted to fish within, without being killed by the Israeli Navy, not to mention Israel had been cutting down regularly the fuel, electricity, as well as various other things entering Gaza.

Then, as part of its agreement, Israel did extend the fishing zone, returned 15 old stolen boats and stopped – according to Israeli military sources – using live ammunition at the Great Return March demonstrations, in which over 300 Palestinians have been killed since the 30th March, 2018. In return, hostilities from Gaza also stopped with Hamas managing the Great Return March, as best they could, in order to keep protesters further away from Israel’s illegal fence. They [Hamas] also reportedly stopped much of the balloons – with burning objects attached to them – being flown over into Israeli held land.

It also should be noted that the balloons and kites have worked to greatly anger Israeli populations living near to Gaza, as some of the balloons have been attributed to burning Israeli crops etc., this means more pressure on the Israeli government to do something about the situation, hence the ceasefire agreement.

The Israelis however, are not happy that by preventing or allowing balloons Hamas are able to pressure them. Also consider when reading this, that the population of Gaza consists of, more than, a 70% refugee population, meaning that those flying the balloons are technically burning lands that they – or their families – were expelled from in many cases.

It marks a rare case of a military campaign that has not gone his way since Russia intervened in 2015. While resisting government attacks, the insurgents have managed to carve out small advances of their own, drawing on ample stocks of guided anti-tank missiles that opposition and diplomatic sources say have been supplied by Turkey.” It continues:

Moscow has appeared keen to preserve its ties with Ankara even as its air force bombs in support of Assad: Turkey says Russia has intervened to stop attacks on Turkish forces from Syrian government-held territory. … The Idlib area is dominated by Tahrir al-Sham, the jihadists formerly known as the Nusra Front. [And before that, they were called Al Qaeda in Syria, but Western news-agencies, such as Reuters, prefer not to mention that fact, especially because the U.S. used_Nusra to train ‘our’ proxy boots-on-the-ground ‘moderate rebels’ in Syria to bring down Syria’s Government. Syria’s Government is fighting hard against jihadist forces in Idlib who meet Turkey’s standard of being ‘moderate rebels’ against Syria’s Government, but unless Russian forces there — which were invited in by Syria’s Government, instead of being invaders there like Turkey and the United States are — will commit far more forces for the defense of Syria (which seems increasingly unlikely), Turkey will win Idlib as being a part of Turkey.

UN High Commissioner on Human Rights Michelle Bachelet’s report on Venezuela echoes the US government’s talking points, which are designed to terminate the two-decade-old Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela. The report fails to acknowledge Venezuela’s manifest accomplishments or even recognize victims of US-backed right-wing violence in Venezuela. The US economic war against Venezuela, US threats of a “military option,” and opposition violence are treated in the Bachelet report as figments of the imagination, “alleged internal and external threats.”

Meanwhile, the US government brazenly brags on an official State Department website:

The pressure campaign is working. The financial sanctions we have placed on the Venezuelan Government has forced it to begin becoming in default, both on sovereign and PDVSA, its oil company’s, debt. And what we are seeing…is a total economic collapse in Venezuela. So our policy is working, our strategy is working and we’re going to keep it on the Venezuelans.”

Bachelet’s UN report one-sidedly assigns blame to the victim. Activist and researcher Nino Pagliccia called the report “faulty by design.”

Reaction to the Bachelet report

The New York Times and the other usual cheerleaders for regime change in Venezuela predictably cheered the report, which came out a day before its scheduled July 5 release date.

The government of Venezuela, having been issued an advanced copy of the Bachelet report, immediately delivered a 70-point bill of particulars in rebuttal. Human rights organizations representing victims of the right-wing violence in Venezuela had met with Bachelet and provided documentation of abuses but their stories were omitted. This included the mother of an Afro-descendent son who had been caught in a passing opposition demonstration, doused with gasoline, and burned alive. Spain, however, just arrested a suspect in that crime who was hiding in Spain.

The day following the issuance of the report, representatives of Russia, China, Turkey, Belarus, Myanmar, Iran, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Bolivia on the UN Human Rights Council repudiated the Bachelet report. According to the Cuban representative, the report “represents a campaign to destabilize the democratic process.” The Nicaraguan representative at the Human Rights Council session condemned the unilateral and illegal measures imposed by the US that were egregiously ignored in the Bachelet report, adding these very measures have a “negative impact on the promotion and protection of human rights” in Venezuela. The Bolivian representative called for the cessation of the US unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela, which are causing great economic loss and misery for the people there.

A little over a month prior to the issuance of the Bachelet report, the International Committee for Peace, Justice and Dignity launched a letter campaign to Ms. Bachelet and the Secretary General of the UN calling for the intervention by the High Commissioner to put an end to the US blockade has kept lifesaving medicines out of Venezuela. Bachelet did not respond to that request. The International Committee warns:

It is extremely serious that the Bachelet report does not contribute to the dialogue for peace, instead it tilts the scales in favor of the aggressor while ignoring the damage the Empire has done to the people.”

UN special rapporteur Alfred de Zayas issued his report on Venezuela to the same UN Human Rights Council last September. He recommended that the US economic sanctions against Venezuela be investigated by the International Criminal Court as possible crimes against humanity. A former secretary of the Human Rights Council and a specialist in international law, de Zayas “believes his report has been ignored because it goes against the popular narrative that Venezuela needs regime change.”

Unlike the US and its allies, which recognize the self-proclaimed Juan Guaidó as president of Venezuela, the UN recognizes the government of President Nicolás Maduro as legitimate. Bachelet as an emissary of the UN, while hyper-critical of the Venezuelan institutions of state, met with the Venezuelan president, attorney general, ombudsman, and members of the Constituent Assembly, implicitly affirming their legitimacy. Bachelet also met with the US surrogate Guaidó, but only in his capacity as president of the National Assembly.

Venezuelan state actors have been responsible for human rights abuses as in any state. However, the government headed by Nicolás Maduro has itself arrested violators and adjudicates people for violations. The Bachelet report, while documenting instances of abuse, does not establish a systematic state policy of violations even with its flawed methodology of primarily relying on testimonies of persons outside of Venezuela.

The Venezuelan state is under siege by the US and its international allies and by the US-allied far-right domestic opposition in Venezuela, who call for a US military invasion of their own country. The Bachelet report by primarily condemning the Venezuelan state’s response to the siege, but rendering the siege itself virtually invisible, in effect provides justification for the US-backed regime-change operation.

All the clutter on Q-Research must also be part of the plan. Actual researchers know how to find the gems in these mountains of obfuscations, including the helpful Anon-created notables, and we also have other lines in place with researchers who have been putting things together on other platforms. Those who shouldn’t have the info wouldn’t want to wade through the “mess,” and might assume there’s not much here to be concerned about.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and our family traveled to a communist country to visit relatives. At customs, they went carefully through every item in the suitcases of my family members, but when they opened mine and saw that I’d just thrown everything in, they closed the suitcase rather than having to go through the mess.

Seeing as how Epstein allegedly wired his houses up with video cameras and microphones to surreptitiously record his high powered clients for possible blackmail purposes, knowing who his friends and associates are is a huge deal, especially considering his connections with at least two U.S. Presidents and one Israeli Prime Minister that we already know of.

Gawker released Epstein's "Little Black Book" in 2015 and it was loaded with power players:

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will speak in Little Rock later this year as part of a lecture series presented by the Clinton School of Public Service and the Clinton Foundation, but free tickets for the event were snapped up in minutes on Tuesday.

Ginsburg is set to speak at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 at the Jack Stephens Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

President Bill Clinton nominated Ginsburg to serve as an associate justice of the Supreme Court in 1993.

Tickets for the event were sold out within half an hour of when they first became available, said Rebecca Tennille, spokeswoman for the Clinton Foundation. Those who missed out and still hope to see the speech can put their name on a waitlist in case tickets become available.

Tennille said she didn't immediately know how many tickets were reserved, or how many seats were initially available.

The Clinton Foundation doesn’t plan to move the lecture to a different venue, according to Tennille, but those unable to reserve a seat will be able to watch live streaming video.

Upon finding that the presumed-dead Justice was still issuing rulings on the United States Supreme Court, Msgr. Tarducci came to the conclusion that Justice Ginsburg must be the first functioning incorrupt body. Supposing he had discovered an obvious sign of sanctity, the undersecretary opened Justice Ginsburg’s file immediately.
