Earlier today, U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr met with the Attorney General of Guatemala Maria Consuelo Porras Argueta in Washington, DC. They discussed ways to strengthen efforts to combat transnational organized crime and reduce illegal migration to the United States through increased cooperation and capacity building of law enforcement partners. They discussed their shared commitment to protecting the security and safety of the citizens of both the United States and Guatemala from transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) and gangs. Today’s meeting was a follow-up dialogue to the May 2019 Third Ministerial of the Northern Triangle Attorneys General in El Salvador.

Watched it last last night. My only concern was his repeated disclaimer that his conclusion that both Articles of Impeachment are unconstitutional is contrary to the findings of the majority of other recent legal analyses. This gave the MSM talking heads and pundits way too much to latch onto in criticizing Dersh's presentation.

 

Rather than simply implying that he might be considered rogue on the issues, I would have rather had him call out, e.g., Lawrence Tribe's work and specifically detail the flaws in his legal reasoning. This is what allowed that legal lightweight nitwit Elizabeth Warren, who knows no shame, to ridiculously tweet out that Dersh's "characterization of the law was unsupported". As if she had the faintest clue.

 

Dersh was far too deferential to the other paid Dim hacks. He should have called them each out by name and ripped them all a new azzhole citing chapter and verse where he knew they were being disingenuous. He argued as if he was appearing before the SC and not the U.S. Senate and the entire World. Too much Ivory Tower and Dersh wanting to appear 'independent'. This is a War and he should have gone for their throats.

NewsGuard received much of its startup funds from Publicis Groupe, a giant global communications group with divisions that brand imaging, design of digital business platforms, media relations and health care.

 

Publicis Groupe’s health subsidiary, Publicis Health, names Lilly, Abbot, Roche, Amgen, Genentech, Celgene, Gilead, Biogen, Astra Zeneca, Sanofi, Bayer and other Big Pharma giants as clients, which gives you an idea of where its loyalties lie.

 

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has also awarded Publicis Media a healthy piece of business, and the communications group responded by creating a custom “platformGSK” to run the drug giant’s media business.

 

GSK Adds $400 Million to $1.5 Billion Publicis Collaboration

 

In October 2018, following a five-month review, GSK sent its $1.5 billion media account to Publicis, which beat out other media agencies vying for the account, including Omnicom’s PHD and WPP’s Group M.1

 

According to FiercePharma, with the creation of the “platformGSK” model, the partnership gave “Publicis Media responsibility for all offline and digital paid media strategy and planning in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. In the U.S., that includes DTC [direct to consumer] pharma work.”2 Further, the news outlet reported:

 

“Publicis Groupe client lead Laurent Ezekiel said the agency is ‘excited to partner with them to establish a transformative client-agency relationship that will enable GSK to deliver on its ambition to become the best data-driven marketer in the industry.'”3

 

In January 2020, GSK awarded Publicis Media with even more business, handing over the former Pfizer Consumer Healthcare brands to Publicis. The move was decided without a review and will add Advil, Centrum, Caltrate and other Pfizer brands to platformGSK, worth an estimated $400 million. GSK holds a 68% stake in the joint venture.

 

“GSK has already announced its plans to spin off the joint venture within three years and list it as standalone company on the U.K. exchange as GSK Consumer Healthcare, leaving the pharma giant to focus on medicines and vaccines,” FiercePharma reported.4

 

Meanwhile, Publicis also handles other Big Pharma media accounts, including Novartis. In August 2019, Publicis created NovartisONE2 to manage the pharma giant’s global media account worth $600 million.5

Woodford: Investors learn of fund payouts

 

Hundreds of thousands of investors are being told what they will receive as Neil Woodford's stricken fund is wound up, with some receiving just half of their initial investment.

 

The Woodford Equity Income fund attracted up to £10bn in investments but folded last year after a series of disastrous choices.

 

Letters are being sent to those left in the fund.

 

Investors will get between 46p and 59p a share in the next few days.

 

This will be the first, and biggest, payout made as the fund is wound up, with smaller reimbursements due later once other assets are sold.

What happened to Woodford?

 

Fund manager Neil Woodford made his name as a star stock-picker at Invesco Perpetual, before launching his own business.

 

He was as close to a household name as is possible in the world of investing. People piled into his flagship UK Equity Income Fund. At its peak, it had £10bn of people's money in it. But several of his picks plummeted in value, such as the door-to-door lender Provident Financial, Kier construction and the outsourcing company Capita. He also invested in obscure unlisted shares which have proved difficult to offload.

 

He was sacked in October, and the decision was made to close the fund. However, many investors have been left in limbo since June when the fund was first suspended.

 

Now, for the first time, they are being told exactly how much they will receive in an initial payment thought to represent about 75% of the fund. Shadow chancellor John McDonnell said some responsibility should be taken by regulators.

 

"Many small investors who were simply seeking a secure investment for their pension have been hurt by the failure of Woodford. This isn't just about the failure of Woodford. More importantly it's about the failure of the regulatory system and in particular the Financial Conduct Authority," he said.

 

He called for an independent inquiry and said former FCA boss, Andrew Bailey, should see his appointment as governor of the Bank of England delayed until this is completed.

Come to find out that he is an anti-gun activist connected to the Clintons, Biden, Pelosi and other top Democrats.

 

On Sunday, TGP reported Joseph Sakran, an anti-gun trauma surgeon posted two photos (now deleted) to his Twitter account claiming a note with a hand pointing a gun and the words “The End is Near” was left on the windshield of his car.

In the wake of the death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other people as the result of a helicopter crash in California on Sunday, one company has decided to pull its Super Bowl ad that featured the death of a long-time mascot.

 

Last week, Planters released an online ad that saw the company’s famous mascot, Mr. Peanut, fall to his death after his Nutmobile crashed. The advertisement, which was entitled “Road Trip” and featured actors Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh, was set to run prior to the Super Bowl on Sunday. A 30-second ad showing his funeral was set to run during the third quarter of the game. However, Planters announced on Monday that it had halted that campaign out of respect for the nine victims of the helicopter crash that included Bryant and his daughter, according to a report from AdAge.

 

“We are saddened by this weekend’s news and Planters has paused all campaign activities, including paid media, and will evaluate next steps through a lens of sensitivity to those impacted by this tragedy,” the brand said in a statement Monday.

 

The death of Bryant and Gianna sent shockwaves through both the basketball world and the sports world as a whole on Sunday. When the tragic news broke, reactions poured in from a number of prominent figures from around basketball. NBA commissioner Adam Silver released a statement regarding the death of Bryant and his daughter on Sunday afternoon, and he expressed gratitude for the work the NBA legend did both on and off the basketball court.

 

“The NBA family is devastated by the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna.

 

“For 20 seasons, Kobe showed us what is possible when remarkable talent blends with an absolute devotion to winning. This week, the pollsters at Gallup released some interesting data related to Americans’ views of their country following the first three years of the Trump administration.

Interestingly, satisfaction with the status of race relations is up 14 percentage points (from 22 to 36 percent) while satisfaction with the position of blacks and other racial minorities in the country is up nine percentage points (from 37 to 46 percent).

The Fed should get smart & lower the Rate to make our interest competitive with other Countries which pay much lower even though we are, by far, the high standard. We would then focus on paying off & refinancing debt! There is almost no inflation-this is the time (2 years late)!

Wuhan, the Chinese city at the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, was the first in the country to be quarantined amid China’s growing efforts to curb the spread of the contagious illness, turning it into a ghost town.

 

Eerie timelapse footage recorded along the city’s roads shows once-packed highways sitting empty and appearing completely devoid of any signs of life. Not a single other vehicle can be seen in the clip, shared online by Dutch journalist Leen Vervaeke.

 

Since the outbreak began last month, the death toll has risen above 100. While the virus has spread to some 16 other countries and infected over 4,500 people worldwide, no deaths have been recorded from it outside China. On Tuesday, authorities in Japan and Germany confirmed their first cases of coronavirus in patients who had not personally traveled to Wuhan.
