The donation from Schmidt and his wife, Wendy Schmidt, to the Collaborative Journalism Network will “create two new regional newsrooms–one in California and a Midwest hub connecting Member stations in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska–that will increase local coverage across the states, especially in underserved communities, and will expand investigative reporting capacity,” according to NPR.

 

They will help the public radio stations in those states expand their local reporting and their contributions to the national radio programs. The California newsroom will serve the 17 public radio stations across the state, which air in 50 cities. The midwestern hub will serve the 25 public radio stations in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska that broadcast in 63 cities.

Since 2013, SOI’s research vessel Falkor has supported more than 40 U.S. federal scientists on collaborative research expeditions around the globe and partnered with NOAA’s Office of Exploration and Research on expeditions to expand mapping and data collection for U.S. marine protected areas. This work included exploration and data collection in the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument , Marianas Trench Marine National Monument , Pacific Remote Islands National Monument , and the Phoenix Islands Protected Area . Denver, March 9, 2020 -For the first time in state history, eligible 17-year-old Coloradans were able to vote in a primary election, and they enthusiastically responded, casting over 10,500 ballots in Tuesday’s record-setting Presidential Primary.

“As the youngest Secretary of State in the country, it is important to me that young people’s voices are heard in Colorado elections,” said Secretary of State Jena Griswold. “That is one of the reasons I supported the 2019 Colorado Votes Act, which enables 17-year-olds who turn 18 by the General Election to cast a ballot in the primary. And we saw real results: eligible 17-year-olds cast over 10,500 ballots in Colorado’s Presidential Primary!

“To see young people so engaged from their first opportunity to vote gives me great hope that our state will continue to be the gold standard in election turnout for decades to come.”

Colorado is one of 18 states and the District of Columbia to allow 17-year-olds to vote in a primary as long as they are 18 by that year’s General Election, and Colorado’s young people turned out in force. So far, 10,634 out of 23,504 active registered 17-year-old voters cast ballots, for a turnout rate of 45.24%. Among those voters, 6,841 cast ballots for the Democratic Primary, 3,235 for the Republican Primary, and 558 are still in process.

Colorado’s counties continue to count ballots, including late-arriving military and overseas ballots, through Wednesday, March 11. As of Monday, March 9, the state’s overall turnout for the Presidential Primary among registered voters is 45.5%.

Eligible 17-year-old Colorado voters will have two more opportunities to exercise their right to vote in 2020 with the State Primary coming up on June 30 and the General Election on November 3.

I personally was very pleased with this because this had been my point of view from the very beginning, and Sir Mark Sykes was also most happy with the reply of the Chief Rabbi.

Islamist militants, or armed criminal elements closely associated with them, are believed to have collected some bounty money, the officials said. Twenty Americans were killed in combat in Afghanistan in 2019, but it was not clear which killings were under suspicion.

 

The intelligence finding was briefed to President Trump, and the White House’s National Security Council discussed the problem at an interagency meeting in late March, the officials said. Officials developed a menu of potential options — starting with making a diplomatic complaint to Moscow and a demand that it stop, along with an escalating series of sanctions and other possible responses, but the White House has yet to authorize any step, the officials said.

 

An operation to incentivize the killing of American and other NATO troops would be a significant and provocative escalation of what American and Afghan officials have said is Russian support for the Taliban, and it would be the first time the Russian spy unit was known to have orchestrated attacks on Western troops.

 

Any involvement with the Taliban that resulted in the deaths of American troops would also be a huge escalation of Russia’s so-called hybrid war against the United States, a strategy of destabilizing adversaries through a combination of such tactics as cyberattacks, the spread of fake news and covert and deniable military operations.

 

The Kremlin had not been made aware of the accusations, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. “If someone makes them, we’ll respond,” Mr. Peskov said. A Taliban spokesman did not respond to messages seeking comment.

 

Spokespeople at the National Security Council, the Pentagon, the State Department and the C.I.A. declined to comment.

 

The officials familiar with the intelligence did not explain the White House delay in deciding how to respond to the intelligence about Russia.

The intelligence assessment is said to be based at least in part on interrogations of captured Afghan militants and criminals. The officials did not describe the mechanics of the Russian operation, such as how targets were picked or how money changed hands. It is also not clear whether Russian operatives had deployed inside Afghanistan or met with their Taliban counterparts elsewhere.

 

The revelations came into focus inside the Trump administration at a delicate and distracted time. Although officials collected the intelligence earlier in the year, the interagency meeting at the White House took place as the coronavirus pandemic was becoming a crisis and parts of the country were shutting down.

 

Moreover, as Mr. Trump seeks re-election in November, he wants to strike a peace deal with the Taliban to end the Afghanistan war.

 

Both American and Afghan officials have previously accused Russia of providing small arms and other support to the Taliban that amounts to destabilizing activity, although Russian government officials have dismissed such claims as “idle gossip” and baseless.

 

“We share some interests with Russia in Afghanistan, and clearly they’re acting to undermine our interests as well,” Gen. John W. Nicholson Jr., the commander of American forces in Afghanistan at the time, said in a 2018 interview with the BBC.

 

Though coalition troops suffered a spate of combat casualties last summer and early fall, only a few have since been killed. Four Americans were killed in combat in early 2020, but the Taliban have not attacked American positions since a February agreement.

 

American troops have also sharply reduced their movement outside military bases because of the coronavirus, reducing their exposure to attack.

 

While officials were said to be confident about the intelligence that Russian operatives offered and paid bounties to Afghan militants for killing Americans, they have greater uncertainty about how high in the Russian government the covert operation was authorized and what its aim may be.

Some officials have theorized that the Russians may be seeking revenge on NATO forces for a 2018 battle in Syria in which the American military killed several hundred pro-Syrian forces, including numerous Russian mercenaries, as they advanced on an American outpost. Western intelligence officials say the unit, which has operated for more than a decade, has been charged by the Kremlin with carrying out a campaign to destabilize the West through subversion, sabotage and assassination. In addition to the 2018 poisoning, the unit was behind an attempted coup in Montenegro in 2016 and the poisoning of an arms manufacturer in Bulgaria a year earlier.

 

American intelligence officials say the G.R.U. was at the center of Moscow’s covert efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. In the months before that election, American officials say, two G.R.U. cyberunits, known as 26165 and 74455, hacked into Democratic Party servers and then used WikiLeaks to publish embarrassing internal communications.

 

In part because those efforts were aimed at helping tilt the election in Mr. Trump’s favor, his handling of issues related to Russia and Mr. Putin has come under particular scrutiny. The special counsel investigation found that the Trump campaign welcomed Russia’s intervention and expected to benefit from it, but found insufficient evidence to establish that his associates had engaged in any criminal conspiracy with Moscow.

 

Operations involving Unit 29155 tend to be much more violent than those involving the cyberunits. Its officers are often decorated military veterans with years of service, in some cases dating to the Soviet Union’s failed war in Afghanistan in the 1980s. Never before has the unit been accused of orchestrating attacks on Western soldiers, but officials briefed on its operations say it has been active in Afghanistan for many years.

 

Though Russia declared the Taliban a terrorist organization in 2003, relations between them have been warming in recent years. Taliban officials have traveled to Moscow for peace talks with other prominent Afghans, including the former president, Hamid Karzai. The talks have excluded representatives from the current Afghan government as well as anyone from the United States, and at times they have seemed to work at crosscurrents with American efforts to bring an end to the conflict.

 

The disclosure comes at a time when Mr. Trump has said he would invite Mr. Putin to an expanded meeting of the Group of 7 nations, but tensions between American and Russian militaries are running high.

 

In several recent episodes, in international territory and airspace from off the coast of Alaska to the Black and Mediterranean Seas, combat planes from each country have scrambled to intercept military aircraft from the other.

I am curious to understand how it was perceived that International Jewry had participated in the cause of what became WW2, and who exactly is being referred to.

John Paul Doerr III, 34, was sentenced to five years probation, six months house arrest and 15 years on the Megan’s Law registry after pleading guilty to 35 counts of child pornography – which could have landed him a maximum sentence of more than 250 years in prison.

 

Doerr’s father is Thomas Doerr, Butler County’s president judge. Dozens of people protested the younger Doerr’s sentencing outside the Butler County Courthouse on Friday, saying they believe that the father-son relationship had a lot to do with the lenient sentence.

 

“It’s not fair. He (could have) gotten 252 years behind bars, (but) instead he got probation and house arrest,” said Madison Morgan, a demonstrator. “It’s because of who his father is.”

 

Doerr was initially arrested after confessing that he downloaded multiple videos, including one with a child as young as 1-2 years old. Investigators tracked him down using the IP address assigned to his computer.

 

Butler County officials told Channel 11 there was no wrongdoing in the case. The district attorney said he immediately handed Doerr’s case over to the attorney general’s office and that no local judge heard the case.

 

Authorities brought in an outside judge and prosecutor. That prosecutor said this is a standard sentence, typical for these types of cases.

Svetlana Lokhova Takes Her Russiagate Defamation Case To Another U.S. Court

 

‘I suspect we are seeing the tip of a very large iceberg, and that there will be further revelations from the FBI,’ says Svetlana Lokhova’s lawyer. While Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn’s three-year ordeal fighting the Deep State is nearing an end, the civilian cast as his paramour and a Russian “honey pot” in the plot to take down the Trump advisor and, in turn, the president, continues to fight for justice. Now that fight moves on to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, where the attorney for the Russian-born Svetlana Lokhova, filed a brief earlier this week asking the federal appellate court to reinstate Lokhova’s defamation lawsuit. A little more than a year ago, Lokhova, now a U.K. citizen, filed suit in a Virginia federal court against the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, NBC Universal, and Stefan Halper, for defamation and interference with contract. Lokhova’s complaint alleged that Halper, who served as a confidential human source during the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, “colluded with the media defendants and others to ‘leak false statements about [her] as part of a nefarious effort to smear General [Michael] Flynn and fuel and further the now debunked and dead narrative that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.” The complaint further alleged that “Halper intentionally misrepresented that Lokhova was a ‘Russian spy’ who ‘had an affair with General Flynn on the orders of Russian intelligence’ and ‘compromised General Flynn.’”

 

A chance meeting in February 2014 between Lokhova and Flynn—then President Barack Obama’s director of the Defense Intelligence Agency—at a dinner at Cambridge University where Lokhova was completing her Ph.D. in history provided the silver for the scandalous tale Halper allegedly crafted and then sold to the media outlets. The story that Lokhova had an affair with Flynn began with inuendo when the U.K. Sunday Times ran an article suggesting impropriety between Flynn and an unnamed Cambridge student. Later reporting by U.S. outlets named Lokhova as the “Russian” and relied on an unnamed former senior U.S. official’s expression of concern about the meeting to provide a veneer of credibility to story. Each story spun the tale further, while adding hyperlinks to the earlier reports. The earliest reports, however, came more than a year before Lokhova filed suit. That delay caused the district court to dismiss Lokhova’s complaint based, in part, on the one-year statute of limitations. The district court also found Lokhova’s complaint failed to adequately allege facts to show that Halper was the source of the defamatory statements given the various media outlets. Accordingly, the court threw out Lokhova’s lawsuit.

 

Lokhova vowed an appeal and now her attorney, Steven Biss, has filed his opening brief with the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. In his brief, Biss hammers the damning facts that show the harm done to Lokhova, while also hitting an array of legal points underlying the lower court’s decision. But the Fourth Circuit will likely focus on one question alone: whether, under Virginia defamation law, linking to an older article constitutes “republication” of that article for purposes of restarting the statute of limitations. The answer to this novel question is unclear, although Biss provides several precedents from other courts that suggest hyperlinking an article triggers a fresh defamation claim. While the federal appellate court will likely focus on this purely legal question, recent developments raise a second issue that should garner the court’s attention: Recently declassified information suggests Halper may have told dossier-author Christopher Steele that Lokhova and Flynn were romantically involved. Another recent declassification indicates that this same false rumor was reported to the FBI. Biss stressed these developments, in telling The Federalist that the district court improperly “short-circuited” the case. “The recently released FBI closing communication and declassified testimony of David Kramer prove that Halper played a central role in the concerted effort to discredit Flynn and smear Lokhova.” “I suspect we are seeing the tip of a very large iceberg, and that there will be further revelations from the FBI, including disclosure of the electronic communication documenting the August 11 meeting with Halper mentioned in the IG Report,” Biss added.

"Circular D340 of June 25th raises a very important point which has trouble d me for some time. It is most probable that Hitler wil l start a peace offensive at an early date . This may be either for a conference or some other form of peace propaganda.

The problem is how to meet such a peace offensive if and when i t comes. I think suggestion for American consultation and. agreement' on a positive alternate plan will be essential. A warning note in advance in the press and on platform in both countries would also help to prepare public opinion against this peace manoeuvre. Advance ridicule may take much sting out of it.

 

The problem is, however, a very serious one and I would advise that in addition it be submitted to special committees of first rate minds in both countries'for their careful exploration in all its aspects. We have been surprised at every, stage of the war and should now take every precaution not to be surprised into a fatal peace.

 

Let brain trusts be set going to work out an alternate democratic plan for countering a peace movement which is certain to come sooner or later and, should find us prepared with the answer."

During an interview on the "John Solomon Reports" podcast he said that people have compromised American principles while pursuing the economic opportunities afforded by doing business with China. Fenton explained that "there's shareholders, there's investors, there's people that have very big motives when it comes to big uses of capital and investment. And if you have opportunities to figure out how to get a good return on that investment, sometimes that causes us to compromise the values and the national security principles that we hold dearly as Americans," he said. He said that both sides of the political aisle must work together to address the problem. "It's something we need to come together on, almost the same way as we came together for World War II—and I'm not saying this is a war, but this is a very serious situation where we need to back really strong principles and values and a rulebook that companies and industries need to follow in regards to their engagement to that market," he said. Fenton noted that the U.S. needs to tackle "the supply chain issue," noting concerns about American dependence on Chinese pharmaceuticals and the gutting of American middle class jobs.

 

"We have seen the decimation of the middle class in large part because of our manufacturing push overseas in order to create products and services that are cheaper for Americans here," he noted. While markets would suffer if the U.S. took needed steps towards recalibrating its relationship with China, the shift would "grow our sense of security as a nation" as well as "increase high-paid middle class jobs here in America." "So if we somehow come up with a better ticker that we can put in the bottom of every cable news network screen than a Dow Jones Industrial Average, we might be able to put together the resolve to play the long game to get this done. Because remember, the [Chinese Communist Party] plays the long game. They're not on quarterly earnings reports, they're not on two or four year election cycles," he said.

 

Fenton is calling for a fundamental shift across all business sectors to prioritize the national interest while doing business with China, though he openly admits that he has contributed to some of the problems he believes the U.S. must address by reconfiguring its engagement with China. He explained that in retrospect he believes he "was complicit in a lot of the things I think we did wrong in regards to the U.S. and China exchange." He said that the people of Wall Street "need to self-reflect and say, Hey look, let's continue pursuing it, but let's do it with the interests of America and Americans at first priority, and then let's figure out how we can create business and keep driving it forward. But let's make that a second priority. Let's make America number one.' And that's something we need to do in all industries,"''' Fenton said.

As predicted this is considered a taboo-topic. One which none of the resident holocaust-narrative-defenders will provide any reputable source of information for understanding what was meant by it, nor anything other than ill-informed opinion that helps explain the use of the term. Nor have any of them anything which explains why there was such a wide acceptance of such a thing as organised 'international Jewry' affecting global political and economic affairs, nor why there was use of the term by a great many people besides Hitler and Goebbels in that regard.
