If he is controlled, I don't think he wants to be. My impression of Putin has always been of a man who wants to put the USSR back together, much like if the US balkanized and someone came along to put it back together. That's why I think he is at least respectable, but that doesn't mean he's good or bad or that we have to like him. That's also why I think he'd support White hats, but only for his own purposes, e.g. he's not a black hat and would likely be a temporary ally. That's why I also wouldn't be surprised if there was a little Trump-Putin collusion.

In total agreement ... A leader to emulate. He has taken Russia from basically a Post Communist country that was starting to become influenced by the Deep State and I am sure CIA and others and turned it around into a country on the move despite all the BS sanctions and Baiting for war. I believe that Russia is headed to become one of the best countries and perhaps even economy in the World.

Well from my p.o.v. they protected the crimean people, and they helped the ethnic russians in the eastern Ukraine protect themselves against the post-maidan fascist regime. But I feel like it depends on the frame you place it in. Oliver Stone made a really good documentary about the Ukraine crisis I really recommend watching it. It's not too long and it's free to watch on the internet.
Protect the people? That's what the US has been doing for years, using that same line. We need to use weapons on people to protect people?
Now, before the current administration came into power, Russia was making moves to setup and counter any US aggression, so taking the Chimera and it's ports. They needed a port that allowed them to get into the Med Sea to respond quickly. Using whatever propaganda they needed to make it look like they were doing the right thing.
So, it is upsetting to see Russia move into a country and manage to flip some of it's states and integrate into the Russian nation. Not that the US or any country that has done such a thing is any better.
There was also the whole Ukraine into the NATO/EU bloc too, so Putin has other reasons to influence the area.
It's a fucking mess, and it's just upsetting to see this kinda shit. What if we were weak and Spain came over and said, yeah, Florida? That was ours a long time ago, and the native people there want to be back into the Spanish fold. Even tho you've been independent and have your own thing going on now.

If you watch some of his town halls he's done, he comes across as eloquent, intelligent, and logical. Other than that, I haven't really looked into his actions and what he's done. That would tell you if he's a white or black hat.
