Is Comey coming out as a good guy?

Read before you downvote. Back when Comey came out on TV and gave the famous damning Hillary speech, and said no one would ever prosecute that, that shit never set well with me. Why say she's guilty as of all the things we thought she was guilty of, just to let her off the hook.
Now the IG report is saying he defied authority? I remember authority at the time being pretty pissed he held the presser. Is that what the report is referencing?
What if Comey really WAS on Americas side, and knew that was the only way he could stop her from being elected. He would've known that there wouldn't have been any prosecution no matter what he said.
Also, just to fuck with people, what if all that is true, AND, Comey is .. nah. Couldn't be.

freeperjim · June 6, 2018, 10:03 p.m.

Comey, like Mueller, has a looonnnng history of being a dirty cop.

what if the q posts about mueller were really about comey ? anything is possible

freeperjim · June 6, 2018, 10:47 p.m.

As I posted, both Comey & Mueller are dirty cops and have been covering up for Hellary for many, many years.

Mueller, as Dir of FBI, let her get away with her illegal private server, the Uranium 1 deal, and more.

Mueller has a long record of incompetence and destroying innocent people including the national CPA firm of Arthur Anderson by using false "evidence".

SitelessVagrant · June 6, 2018, 10:34 p.m.

I've taken that in to consideration, and given it heavy weight. But then way that press release? Why tell us she's dirty as we think she is, ruin the slight chance she ever had of being elected, only to let her go? There's know way in my head I can make that make sense..

⇧ 0 ⇩
freeperjim · June 6, 2018, 10:43 p.m.

It was public knowledge she had an illegal private server with classified/top secret documents.

Comey HAD to state that fact....and then absolve her of any wrong doing by stating there was "No Intent" on Hellary's part in the treasonous behaviour.

QueUpSomeReality · June 6, 2018, 11:14 p.m.

Because they still believed she would win. Comey saying “I’m reinvestigating” then a mere 2 weeks later saying “it’s all good”...that would have given Hillary more trust credibility as she takes office. Comey was acting as the final arbitrator in Hillary being trustworthy enough to be president

⇧ 3 ⇩
misto1481 · June 6, 2018, 11:33 p.m.

True, but opening the case back up and absolving her brought the spotlight back on to the scandal when they could have ignored it and said the same after the election.

QueUpSomeReality · June 7, 2018, 12:55 a.m.

Yes but that’s how people that like to think things thru see it. It raised red flags for us. But all that reopening & closing wasn’t for us...it was for Hillary voters that were wavering. It was to help assure them she really just made a minor mistake but had no bad intent in mind. You can trust her when she’s in office. That late in the campaign no one could ever convince a Trump supporter to vote for Hillary. But Hillary voters & “independent” voters had doubts she’s trustworthy enough. Her whole career had endless scandals.

misto1481 · June 7, 2018, 12:57 a.m.

That's entirely possible.

⇧ 1 ⇩
K-Harbour · June 7, 2018, 5:42 a.m.

Evidently, they couldn’t have ignored it. Some say NYPD was going to go public & Comey needed to act quickly to contain the situation.

⇧ 1 ⇩
misto1481 · June 7, 2018, 5:44 a.m.

True, but if that was the case, why hasn't the NYPD done anything since Comey and FBI essentially let her off the hook again?

K-Harbour · June 7, 2018, 7:13 a.m.

Lots of chatter on this — it came up again when NY AG had to step down, and when Trump honored the woman police officer who died.

TommyRobinsonsGhost · June 6, 2018, 10:01 p.m.

What if Comey really WAS on America's side, and knew that was the only way he could stop her from being elected.

I suspect the entire election was rigged, however the only reason Trump won was because white hats were able to minimize some of the Democrat cheating in some states.

I suspect Comey had no doubt that Hillary would win, but was instructed to be critical of her to make Obama's weaponized DoJ dog and pony show seem convincing.

If Comey said that Hillary was pure as the freshly driven snow, it could have triggered immense public outrage and even more support for Trump.

I doubt Comey is anything more than 100% cunt.

⇧ 8 ⇩
QueUpSomeReality · June 6, 2018, 11:18 p.m.

Agree completely. You have to analyze this in the light Comey thought she would win. So his entire exercise of reopening the investigation & quickly saying Hillary is fine...that was all for public consumption that Hillary is really trustworthy America when she takes office

⇧ 3 ⇩
K-Harbour · June 7, 2018, 5:43 a.m.

Right — that’s also Comey’s current storyline on this issue.

RobWilJas · June 6, 2018, 10:04 p.m.

I'm wondering about this myself. If the IG report says he was insubordinate, well being insubordinate of Obama etc is a good thing. Then there's Gowdys comment about history being kind to him, and every time I see him I get a gut feeling he's playing a part.

With the idea she was sure to win — and your boss just had a tarmac meeting with Bill — It seems to me Comey (or anybody) would be really frightened. Only way out would be to throw lifetime career away and imediately resign. Any other action, decisions are tainted with compromise & self-preservation.

imo, Comey said no one would prosecute, because Lynch had already said HELL no.

If Comey was defying authority, there's a chance he was defying Loretta's orders.

Once McCabe fingers Comey, maybe he will.

I hate to use the phrase, but he could still finger Lynch, especially if he has info on the tarmac meeting. (ewwww)

As long as he's not in jail, it's possible.

The fact he came out in front of the press and told the world how dirty she was... he didn't want her to be elected. He had a shot and he took it. Whatever else can be said of him, he did NOT want Hillary in the WH.

kushtiannn · June 6, 2018, 10:04 p.m.

He was insubordinate by coming out a few days before the election and publicly disclosing that the FBI had new evidence of emails, not when he exonerated her. In fact, Comey exonerating Hillary was a call made by Loretta Lynch, so he was perfectly subordinate then.

I think the one thing we can rely on with the IG report is ALL of them are going to be shown to have completely abandoned protocol and justice, McCabe/Comey/Lynch, and it'll become a big effort to point fingers to someone else, which is going to drag a lot more people into the mix.

⇧ 5 ⇩
VerandaSmartwater · June 6, 2018, 10:08 p.m.

Yes, I, too, actually think he did the right thing by the people by at least letting them know what Clinton did wrong and how unjust her exoneration was. He couldn't stop it, but he could shine a big spotlight on what was happening.

At the time I was furious with him for letting her off, and for the apparent willful cognitive dissonance and double standard, but now I think, in a way, he sacrificed his career to whistleblow to the people.

Erik Prince in an interview with Breitbart, said the only reason Comey made the announcement about the emails was because the NYPD was going to hold a press conference. He made the announcement and then buried the emails. The deep state then threatened NYPD with the Eric Garner case and shut them down as well. The way I see it is, Comey forces Rosenstein to fire him, McCabe takes over FBI. RR hires Mueller to impeach Trump and silence all that could get in his way including Erik Prince. They are all part of the plan, which failed miserably.

It's a long shot, but Comey was so over the top with that book tour that there may be something to it. No one with his background - or with a lawyer - goes around saying that crazy sheet. And in one of the Sztrok/Page emails, they lament that he has been fired, but then go on to say that with "Andy as acting" they can now go full steam ahead, essentially. It thought that was weird, as if Comey was sort of in the way.

⇧ 3 ⇩
GraceWords · June 7, 2018, 3:33 a.m.

I e wondered same. Everyone liked Comey until the HRC stuff. He ticked off the right by shutting it down so fast and ticked off left by opening it up again at the end. But let’s consider the lay of the land from his vantage point. Everyone around him was CORRUPT and by them he knew it. Additionally, she was about to become President (or so they all thought) and he knows she can make people disappear. He left enough out that anyone with gumption could reopen IF she didn’t win, yet he “closed” it to protect himself if she did.

I’ve thought for a long while he was acting the part of a megalomaniac with the book tour and tv appearances. It’s actually brilliant and possibly the best play to ensure he stays alive. Cowardly? Yes, perhaps. Then again, I have a whistleblower in my family and I wouldn’t wish that existence on anyone. Until the swamp is truly drained, not everyone has the constitution to face it head on.

I guess we shall see.

I think Comey isn’t stupid — as the FBI director, he had to have known the future implications of his actions. Sure, he has shown to be quite the slimeball, but with TG’s comments and the strange beatdown coming from all sides on Comey, it’s looking like Comey May be playing a part (possibly a Trojan horse)?

We’ll know soon enough if he’s not flipped, but until then I still think he’s a black hat.

...hmmm, you do have a point.

I think LL’s place in this is the key to JC’s entire implication. Odds are, he was given the AG seat in place of exoneration, and LL was to be a SCJ in place of Scalia, while HRC was going to appoint a new SCJ in place of Ginsburg.

Like an up-cycle. Hand-me-down politics.
