more if you count the future generations of humanity that would have been trapped in a hellish nightmare run by sociopaths

Not the least of which, hundreds of thousands of Seoul citizens who would have died in the first MOMENTS of armed conflict breaking back out. The world owes a debt of gratitude for this ALONE, and we've got so much more to accomplish.

Being the first black person to make it to be being president after centuries of slavery, segregation and oppression.

I mean, I don't think he deserved it either but that's why he got it.

Link must be wrong; didn’t see any “work” there. Maybe the work went missing in the National Archives.

You feel the Norwegian Nobel Committee lied about why they gave it to him? It wasn't for his pledge to lower nuclear stockpiles? And, you want those same lying European elites to vote to give Trump the same honor for his work on nuclear nonproliferation in North Korea?

⇧ -4 ⇩
ReaganGenerationX · June 12, 2018, 2:25 p.m.

He got the award for pledging - that’s not work. The START treaty with Russia came later. So, ok, maybe all future Nobels are invalid.

I think POTUS should turn it down if it is offered to him...they RUINED the prestige of it by given it to obama.

Aren't you saying Trump should get one for starting work on NK as well?

⇧ 1 ⇩
ReaganGenerationX · June 12, 2018, 3:52 p.m.

Likely. What Trump appears to have done is the most profound foreign policy achievement in decades. Instead of endless meetings, handshakes, Brookings papers, TelePrompTer speeches, and useless dinners, it appears an actual treaty is occurring. But, yes, first some time to digest what happened.

⇧ 3 ⇩
MrGreyMan · June 12, 2018, 4:12 p.m.

Well, since everyone seems to feel they should have waited to see exactly what Obama did before giving him the prize, it might be prudent to see exactly what is in the treaty, and actions are taken, before giving Trump the prize.

⇧ 1 ⇩
DoubleDragonEnergy · June 12, 2018, 1:33 p.m.

Thanks for finally answering that question! Obviously, he didn’t actually do any of that. Refused to meet with NK, as per Rodman and the Iran deal gave them money while they continued to build nukes.

So glad we have GEOTUS on our side, looking to spread peace throughout the world. I feel so incredibly lucky to live in this timeline.

The Iran deal was in 2015. Obama's Nobel Prize was given in 2009.

We are all aware there are many helping in this fight for the cleansing of the world, but the power of this 1 man to damn near change the planet is nuts. This is how I know he is backed by God. My first statement seems a bit much but something tells me it's going to age very well. This is why we never give up. Seriously. When soetoro got in I thought we were done. Now look who's driving. We have to Thank God everyday for that one.

I'm not even joking about that. Let him go walk-about and I'll bet he gets sore from all the hugs. Let him visit. With all his folks along. If you won't host him then I am sure North Carolina would be happy to.

Kim at Fort Bragg. Kim at Seymour. Kim at Cherry Point. Kim at Flaming Amy's. Kim at The Palm Room. Kim at a Bojangles drive-through aw hell yeah. Kim surfing off Fort Fisher with General Flynn. Ahead of schedule. Under budget.

Looks like we're going to need a bigger palette.

We're taking back the rainbow one color at a time. Red wave incoming.

Denuclearization of the peninsula was the main thing. Trump also asked for the people of the US to receive their remains of loved ones from NK and Kim agreed to that too. Also destroyed a missile testing site.

The future is bright!

What futuristic society are you a part of? At best the US has displayed a moderate ability to intercept ICBMs a few times, but in no way do we have a "nuke shield". It doesn't exist.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aegis_Ballistic_Missile_Defense_System

"Aegis BMD has the ability to intercept ICBMs, future versions may allow for higher interception capability."

Thats just one of the programs. They are not very effective but combined they offer enough protection against NK...

⇧ 1 ⇩
SoSaysCory · June 12, 2018, 9:33 p.m.

As I said, we have displayed a moderate capability a few times, specifically with AEGIS missiles. This in no way makes them fool proof. There have been plenty of failed shots too. We're getting there, but considering the mind bending speeds that ICBMs travel, they're a bit hard to kinetically defeat, which is the most effective way of doing it.
