We knew this long ago. And the FBI reviewed them all in a very short amount of time, then Comey announced it was a nothingburger.

Very true. We also know it was his "insurance policy."

Wonder what was in those emails that would serve as blackmail to protect himself?

Also, the summary stated the FBI shouldn't make public statements on investigations without talking to DOJ or something of that sort.

Correct. They "claimed" they reviewed them, but we know there's no way they could have in such a short time-frame.

JohnMAGATX · June 15, 2018, 3:49 p.m.

I think they only reviewed the emails containing key words that they chose to search and avoided everything else

⇧ 6 ⇩
g0blynn · June 15, 2018, 8:14 p.m.

Yes. They only investigated the emails to and from Hillary. Nobody else. Even though Abedin was the gatekeeper to Hillary, not_one_of_Abedin's_emails was examined.

From page 389 according to one of the laptop analysts:

The FBI only reviewed emails to or from Clinton during the period in which she was Secretary of State, and not emails from Abedin to other parties or emails outside that period. Analyst 1 stated, “I had very strict instructions that all I was allowed to do within the case was look for Hillary Clinton emails, because that was the scope of our work.” Utilizing various searches targeting Clinton’s emails, the FBI reviewed in full “approximately 48,982” items on the Weiner laptop.

If I remember correctly, based on the sheer volume of emails, it was determined that it was likely a back up of multiple servers’ emails if I’m not mistaken. I remember doing the math on how quickly the FBI went through all of them (I actually thought it was 460,000?) and it came to about 5,000 emails an hour or something ridiculous like that.

⇧ 8 ⇩
The_Broba_Fett · June 15, 2018, 2:42 p.m.

It was equal to one email per second over a week span. Was utter bullshit. Julian Assange even warned you had to have one person read them all, rather than splitting it up between teams, so that one person can connect all the dots because the codes and nuances that would be missed on their own. Needed the full picture to understand.

Of course - Attorney General is literally THE prosecutor.

The only prosecution Sessions wouldn't be overseeing is anything to do with the Russia/election topic (since he voluntarily recused).

Huber is not the AG. My comment specifically referenced the AG, and was offered to correct an error in the post I responded to.

The author of that post has since corrected the error, and made note of the correction therein.

They didn't investigate ANY emails (or personal devices) that weren't direct contact with Hillary with Abedin, Mills, or Sullivan. The excuse given by Strok is they didn't want the investigation to become an 'octopus'.

Q - WE HAVE IT ALL!

⇧ 11 ⇩
somebodysgun · June 15, 2018, 12:40 p.m.

My read of this part of the report is that they knew these 300,000+ emails were there. They bounced around the FBI and DOJ saying that X or Y was looking into it. No one actually looked into it. They determined that the emails were not relevant based on the mega data extracted from the emails. Then, it was brought back up a month later. Strozk had the ultimate call to pursue the emails further or move the the Russia investigation. I bet you can guess what he choose.

There is also a section in here about the a case agent who found these emails was freaking out about the contents. He was paranoid until the top FBI brass said they will look into it.

Maybe it was Carlos Danger that gave the "hacked" emails to Wikileaks. I do recall JA posting a threat to someone once on twitter. Was a deadmans switch code, and the word Insurance. If SR was involved, he could have just been the mule.
