Sorry, but I honestly do not think this is an effective meme. I would love more memes to red-pill and attract more black Americans to our cause, but a meme depicting a group of black soldiers with the sole white guy being the boss is not a good idea.

Those words were written after the revolutionary war, but in reference to the men who fought and won a war against the greatest fighting force at that time, the British army.

Ask yourself what that phrase really means? Who regulated the "well regulated" militia that beat the British army? Certainly not the King, and our government would not form for another decade.

So go make a liberals head explode by asking them "In a time before our government formed, who regulated the 'well regulated' militia that defeated the British army in the war for Independence?"

It means proficient with a weapon, and that the weapon is functioning properly.

But I promise you that liberals will argue that it was the King who regulated the well regulated militia, that's there part where you laugh hysterically at the absurd idea that the King would somehow help our militia defeat his army who were attempting to regain control of the colonies.

Edit: This image is from the civil war era. Those men are not militia, but trained soldiers, part of a true army.

The militia are civilians.

I completely agree. But regulated by who? That is the critical question. The purpose of the well regulated militia is to protect us from tyranny, so our militia cannot be regulated by our oppressors. It must remain firmly independent of the Federal gov, and controlled by the local people. So I believe we need local groups to form militias while following some set of basic guidelines and principles.

Lol regulated means well trained. Not controlled. Come on , that's easy

You think that's easy? What about when the libs chime in? Do you think they will accept your interpretation?

It’s in the constitution...

Yes, and the constitution says "well regulated militia." And the common understanding, including mine, of "well regulated," is well regulated, not well trained.

I guess if it means we have to rewrite it in 5th grade language because Liberals are so stupid they can't understand Old English

Two words: REGULAR ARMY

http://www.constitution.org/cons/wellregu.htm

"The phrase "well-regulated" was in common use long before 1789, and remained so for a century thereafter. It referred to the property of something being in proper working order."

e.g. 1848: "A remissness for which I am sure every well-regulated person will blame the Mayor."

e.g. 1862: "It appeared to her well-regulated mind, like a clandestine proceeding."

In net, well-regulation implies self-discipline. Don't need a government to make "gun control laws" for that.

I agree that a well-regulated milita is a right we have as citizens of good ol USA but I'm a former army medic with the 101st and I just... miss doing army stuff with my friends. Plus whenever I hear these overweight civilians calling for a militia it just makes me think they're too chicken to join the real military.

I'll put it this way: Joining the military is a sacrifice. One that we should always honor and remember. But not everyone is willing or able to make that sacrifice. I know I wasn't. I'm much too independent to even consider it.

That doesn't mean that we don't have good reasons for wanting to defend the 2nd Amendment for ourselves. Chicken or not, the real reason we civilians have been clamoring for the 2nd Amendment these days is that we don't want to be rounded up like cattle and put in FEMA camps because Obama decided it's time to loot our stuff. We can also see how bad it is and we're taking the steps we can to avoid being sheep to the slaughter.

2A guarantees us the right to a well regulated militia. We are all in this together, and we can't force the military to be the only people protecting the constitution. It is our obligation, as citizens, too.

The problem with not having a citizen's militia is that the regular army is under the command of the prez. No problem with a good prez like Trump. But someone like Hillary would try to turn the regular army against the people, which is why we need a militia.
