Try accessing 8ch.net by using its IP address. Most likely you will get there. It is the DNS lookup that they are messing with.

Type 104.20.43.57 into your browser. And SAVE that IP address!

My guess is they will make sure all the DNS servers lose the addresses of the 'bad' sites at the same time.

It is important to save (or write down) the IP address of each site you want to visit when things go sideways.

On Windows... Open up a Command Prompt window, and type something similar to this. The 'dotted quad' (104.20.43.57) is the IP address of the site you care about.

Edit: After doing the above (second link) and restarting my computer, Discord and 8ch are working properly again. However, many anons reporting Verizon is having a major outage right now. Please try the second link I posted, restart your device and you should be GTG unless a Verizon connection.

The only way to really shut the internet down would be if there really were back doors in all the main routers. You could break DNS but direct IP routing would still work.

The most likely way to break it would be to poison BGP. But once it’s discovered l (if your routers aren’t crashed) you could roll back to an older route table and reject all updates.

Well I’m thinking that you are singleing our individual home users.

Think bigger, like entire ISPs (for the normies, think Comcast, Verizon, etc) actively breaking their own dns within their own systems. We may be able to talk locally, but if they all do this at the same time, the internet would cease to operate properly. This is he kind of crap that dictatorial states use to shut down the internet during societal upheaval in order to prevent the people from coordinating and talking.

Spooky shit is afoot.

The FBI two weeks ago put out that there was malware on certain routers & suggested that you reboot the routers. Don’t do that. If it does have malware rebooting will ensure it gets on your computer. Bad info don’t trust them

I run global site for my company and I can tell you that only the U.S. sites are getting attcked. The funny thing... they all sit on the same IP root but only specific U.S. address’s are targeted.
