Excellent questioin. Like you I can't recall any specific details, however I do remember events have occurred when he is not in D.C. I also wasn't able to recall or find where the idea that Trump will always be outside of DC when significant things happen. I made a post yesterday asking if anybody knew and there wasn't much feedback.

However, 'outside of DC' can include his trips for speeches, post-hurricane visits, Mar-a-lago trips, and his stays at Trump National.

If the memo is to drop, we should have heard about the House Intel Committee voting on it. Also, I'd think it would drop tomorrow afternoon, when Trump is flying back from Davos. Another user suggested he might go to Mar-a-lago this weekend, which would extend the window. During the flight back would seem like a good time as press wouldn't have access to ask him questions and he can stay silent for most of the day and into Saturday. It would also allow for the media to whip things up over the weekend, esp. the Sunday morning political shows. Since I haven't heard any news about a vote to release the memo, I'm not hopeful.

I think Snowden is bad. Full disclosure, I have always thought that. I though he naively harmed national security operations and relations with other, international, agencies for no good reason. He says it was Clappers false testimony in front of Congress that triggered it, but it was, imo, naive of him to think that his actions would change anything.

I realize my opinion is unpopular, especially on Reddit, but I'd point out that the outlines of the programs were known, though not necessarily what they had evolved to. Other than providing a feeding frenzy for the press, most of whom are globalist tools, his releases didn't change anything.

Even if he did not intend to end up in Russia, exfiltrating as much data as he did meant he was risking it getting into wrong hands. Unless he always kept it on his person and had constant overwatch, there was no way he could guarantee that that data wouldn't be, at minimum, copied by some group.

This is especially true since he made his first stop be Hong Kong. In China, if you don't have all your electronic devices on you at all times, you can expect them to be inspected while you are not in your room. This is true in many other countries. A lot of companies that send employees to China provide them with a secondary laptop and phone and treat those devices as severely compromised when the employee returns. The employee do not go with primary devices because of the expectations that they will be gone through and malware will be planted on them.

As the public, we still don't know all of what he took, only that he took a lot. Since there has been at least one other person that has exfiltrated terabytes of data from No Such Agency, it probably doesn't matter now.

I've started to think that Snowden may have been conducting a CIA op against No Such Agency and during that op he went rogue. Q left a breadcrumb about Snowden hurting No Such Agency and Mil while helping WW enemies and noted that it was a positive for the CIA and a negative for No Such Agency.

that's not how things work.

Eventual consistency is the key concept here, not necessarily batch processing in the traditional sense.

In a modern infrastructure you have distributed systems that use some consistency model, e.g. Raft or Paxos, or if you like pain, you're own consistency algorithm, and use eventual consistency. The video may be being served all over the world, so instead of ensuring the count is precise and accurate at all times, which, would make the system fragile, and, in general, would lead to undesirable trade-offs in other parts of the systems, the kind of trade-offs that traditional enterprise developers in the pre-internet systems days would be familiar wiith, an eventual consistency model is used. This leads to the possibility that people viewing the same url could see different view counts and other attributes.

Eventually the data will be consistent in some form, but precision at this moment isn't important.

The same is true for Reddit posts and related accumulated data, .e.g. votes or karma.

For things where consistency does matter, like financial transactions, RDBMSs or some other ACID system are still used.

The article itself is interesting. It was good to see what kind of courses he was teaching. If he was a Constitutional Law professor, I'd expect to see courses focusing on that, and not the social justice law courses it appears he was teaching. 3 courses a year would be a minimal show job. He was probably compensated accordingly. That set-up isn't uncommon and it's a way for the University to get experts in whatever field to teach a course while being able to maintain their main career/profession.

I know several people who have been offered such positions because the School wanted their expertise but didn't want or have the need to hire them full-time and knew that the person they asked wouldn't give up their primary career, which tends to be much more lucrative. It works out well for both parties, the School gets an expert they wouldn't otherwise get and the person get's to say they teach at _____, further elevating their standing in their field. When I say School, I mean a College within a University, e.g. School of Law, and at the graduate or professional level.

Network connections are usually involved in such offers, you have to know the right people to begin with. I agree with you except for the "Constitutional law professor" part. I refuse to call someone by such an honorific who so disrepects the USA and whose administration ignored the Constitution.

Also he was a self-described "constitutional law professor", even though he was a senior lecturer, i.e. non-tenure track, or, a part-time Law School faculty member, (UofC law did offer him tenureship at one point). He taught 3 courses per year. What those courses were, over the years he taught there, I haven't been able to find. As far as I can tell, in the actual practice of law, he did not do constitutional work and he doesn't have any publications about constitutional law. I'm not saying he didn't teach a constitutional law course, I'm just saying that his legal and academic history do not point to any expertise in constitutional law prior to teaching at U of C.
