BLM Marches Down Florida Sidewalks Crowded with Kids

 

Demonstrators took to the streets in Florida on Saturday marching through sidewalks crowded with children and diners. The protesters chanted “No justice no peace.”

 

The recent protests have been widely shared on social media following an incident in St. Petersburg, Florida, where protesters surrounded a couple who were dining. Protesters even threatened to punch one of the diners last month.

 

The protests appear to be a regular sight in St. Petersburg where groups of activists walked down sidewalks apparently filled with diners and children.

Other videos show similar protests in the same area where restaurant employees duck around protesters to deliver food to their customers sitting outside. Some of the individuals in the outdoor patios lift their hands in an apparent show of support or to appease the protesters.

Last month, two customers eating at a sidewalk restaurant called Parkshore Grill showed their opposition to the protesters. This led protesters to immediately surrounded the man and threaten him with physical harm in a confrontation that was captured on video by the Tampa Bay Times.

 

Protestors are now going restaurant by restaurant to chant at diners on Beach Dr. in St. Pete. A lot of diners yelled back, starting multiple confrontations.

Despite the numerous recorded incidents, city officials and police officials in St. Petersburg have done little to protect businesses and keep restaurant customers from harassment.

WH Investigating ATF Decision to Increase Regulation on Certain Pistols

The White House is investigating the ATF’s decision to increase regulation on Q, LLC’s (Q) Honey Badger Pistol, and the agency is warning that other AR-15 pistols may be targeted as well.

 

Brietbart News reported that the ATF sent Q a Cease & Desist letter, dated August 3, 2020, announcing a reclassification of Q’s Honey Badger Pistol as a short barrel rifle (SBR). This means the pistol now falls under the purview of the National Firearms Act (1934), as do machine guns, suppressors, and SBRs.

 

The ATF letter noted that two other Q pistols–the Sugar Weasel and the Mini Fix–may also fall under NFA purview.

 

Q responded to the ATF by issuing its own letter, which began:

 

Q has ceased all production of the Honey Badger Pistol, and submitted a comprehensive letter to ATF and the Department of Justice stating why we disagree with this classification. Additionally, we have provided recommendations on how to address firearms already in circulation. Q is seeking solutions that best protect you, the individual, and Q’s distribution network from falling out of compliance with ATF regulations, and federal law. At this time, Q has not received and definite guidance from the ATF.

The World Health Organization’s special envoy on COVID-19 urged world leaders this week to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method.”

 

“We in the World Health Organization do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Dr. David Nabarro said to The Spectator’s Andrew Neil. “The only time we believe a lockdown is justified is to buy you time to reorganize, regroup, rebalance your resources, protect your health workers who are exhausted, but by and large, we’d rather not do it.”

Earlier this week, thousands of medical health experts signed their names to a petition calling for the end of coronavirus lockdowns, citing the “irreparable damage” they’ve caused.

 

"As infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists, we have grave concerns about the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing COVID-19 policies, and recommend an approach we call Focused Protection,” read the petition, known as the Great Barrington Declaration. The mention of Cambridge Analytica reminded me of learning a bit more about the extent to which researchers have access to our online behavior and also learning about how they study it.

 

An article that I still refer to appeared in Scientific American in April 2017 and was written by Walter Quattrochiocchi (pp 60-63). It was called "Inside the Echo Chamber: Computational Social Scientists are Studying How Conspiracy Theories Spread Online- and What, if Anything Can Be Done to Stop Them".

 

I'd like to offer two quotes that will get anons rolling.

 

From the first part of the article: "In the summer of 2015 Governor Greg Abbott gave the Texas State Guard an unusual order: keep an eye on the Jade Helm 15 exercise, just in case the online rumors are true. In reality Jade Helm 15 was a routine eight-week military exercise conducted in Texas and six other states.   1. Towards the end Quattrochiocchi gets a bit dismayed the the prospect of the spread of online conspiracy theories. He writes "...for a certain type of user, debunking actually reinforces belief in the conspiracy."

 

Then he goes on: "We observed the same dynamics in a study of 55 million Facebook users in the U.S. Users avoid cognitive discord by consuming information that supports their preexisting beliefs, and they share that information widely. Moreover, we found that over time people who embrace conspiracy theories in one domain-say the (nonexistent) connection between vaccines and autism-will seek out such theories in other domains. Once inside the echo chamber, they tend to embrace the entire conspiracy corpus."

2 Marine Corps Vets Among Those Arrested in Michigan Governor Kidnapping Plot

 

Two of the 13 men arrested in an alleged militia plot to kidnap Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer served in the Marine Corps, and one was discharged from the military on the same day he was arraigned on felony charges, officials confirmed Saturday.

 

Joseph M. Morrison, 26, of Munith, Mich., was a lance corporal in the Marine Corps Reserve who was discharged Thursday for reasons unconnected to the allegations, Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Joe Butterfield said in a statement.

 

Daniel Harris, 23, of Lake Orion, Mich. is a former corporal, who was discharged June 1, 2019, according to information provided.

 

Marine Corps Times was among the first to report Morrison and Harris' Marine Corps history.

 

"We can confirm Joseph Morrison and Daniel Harris were previously in the Marine Corps," Butterfield said in a statement. "We are aware of the circumstances surrounding the two individuals, and will assist the investigating authorities in any way we can. The serious allegations are not a reflection of the Marine Corps, do not reflect the oath every Marine takes to support and defend the constitution, and do not align with our core values of honor, courage, and commitment."

 

On Oct. 8, federal and Michigan state officials announced charges against the men, describing a detailed scheme to kidnap Whitmer, including an extended period of surveillance on her vacation home and plans to detonate explosives on a nearby bridge to keep law enforcement officers away.

 

Harris is alleged to have been a key instigator in the plot who appeared to push for violence against the governor.

CNO: More than 190 ships have had COVID-19 cases

 

More than 190 U.S. Navy ships have suffered a COVID-19 outbreak this year, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday said in a message to the fleet late last month.

 

If that tally is limited to the sea service’s 296 deployable ships, it would mean nearly 65 percent of the fleet has experienced some level of infection by the novel coronavirus.

 

Officials did not immediately clarify that point.

 

At the same time, “aggressive early action” to isolate, quarantine and contact trace has helped contain outbreaks, he added.

 

Precisely which ships have suffered outbreaks, and the extent of those outbreaks, remains unclear.

 

Following Pentagon regulations, the sea service stopped reporting COVID cases at local units this spring.

 

Navy spokeswoman Lt. Emily Wilkin told Navy Times this week that the 190 ships with at least one case onboard were a mix of ships at sea and in port.

 

“We have not had any [other] outbreaks like USS Theodore Roosevelt and USS Kidd,” she said in an email.

Wilkin pointed to an outbreak onboard the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan earlier this year that was successfully contained, with a handful of COVID-positive sailors flown off and the carrier able to continue operations without any new cases.

 

The revelation regarding how many ships have suffered COVID infection came about in updated guidance to the fleet sent Sept. 30 by the CNO regarding the novel coronavirus, which had infected 10,585 sailors as of Wednesday.

 

Officials said Friday that Gilday has tested negative for COVID but continues to self-quarantine at home along with other members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff after the vice commandant of the Coast Guard tested positive earlier this week.

 

Roughly 35 percent of infected sailors have shown few to no symptoms, and Gilday wrote that “testing is the best way to uncover asymptomatic service members.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — It’s a question Americans are unaccustomed to considering in a presidential election campaign: Could voting, vote-counting or the post-vote reaction become so chaotic that the U.S. military would intervene?

 

The answer is yes, but only in an extreme case. There is normally no need for the military to play any role in an election. The Constitution keeps the military in a narrow lane — defending the United States from external enemies. Civil order is left largely to civilian police. But there is an obscure law, the Insurrection Act, that theoretically could thrust the active-duty military into a police-like role. The potential use of troops, either active duty or National Guard, at the polls or in post-election unrest has been discussed by governors and military leaders. The possibilities arise as President Donald Trump asserts without evidence that mail-in balloting will create election fraud and suggests that he might not accept an election loss. Stationing troops at polling places on Election Day — even if just to protect citizens as they vote — raises worries about voter intimidation.

n 2017 Jones formed a new company, The Democracy Integrity Project, a nonprofit company — which paid Jones $380,000 in 2017 to be its CEO — which is an advocacy group that purports to investigate interference in American and international elections by hostile foreign powers. Starting in 2017, the real role of Daniel Jones was to replace the Clinton Campaign as the “outside” operation. I think we are eventually going to learn that the campaign of leaks from the intelligence community to the media in 2017 and 2018 was engineered and run through Jones and his confederates in the same way Clinton Campaign members and surrogates had taken information from friendly IC sources and given them to the media back in the summer and fall of 2016.

 

An investigation of Jones and his organization will certainly lead to exposure of Jones’ communications, and all the financial transactions between Jones and his clients and partners.

'We can't save every job': Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the Government plans to end JobKeeper in March

 

The Federal Government has laid out its plan to help get Australians back into work, but there is still no answer about how much financial support it will offer to those who cannot find a job beyond the end of the year.

The unemployment welfare payment, known as JobSeeker, was increased during the height of the pandemic with a $500 fortnightly coronavirus supplement.

 

It has now been reduced to $250 and will stay in place until December, with the Government reluctant to outline what will happen after that.

 

Business and welfare groups have called for a permanent and adequate increase to JobSeeker.

 

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said that will depend on what happens in the next few months.

 

"The exact rate of that is yet to be decided and will be closer to the end of the year," Mr Frydenberg told Insiders.

 

"We want to see where the economic outlook is.

 

"We want to see if the restrictions are being lifted, whether there is another wave of cases, and we also want to see where the labour market dynamics are."

 

Treasury forecasts the unemployment rate will reach 8 per cent in the December quarter, and will not fall to 6.5 per cent until the June quarter in 2022.

 

Mr Frydenberg was pushed on when an announcement would be made about JobSeeker, and indicated Australians would be told more information in December.

'Some businesses will not survive'

 

The JobKeeper wage subsidy will end in March 2021, and the Treasurer said he was hopeful the new measures outlined in the Budget would provide adequate long-term support.

 

However, he conceded not all businesses being propped up by JobKeeper would survive.

 

"Treasury doesn't calculate the number of businesses that will be created or the number of businesses that will close," Mr Frydenberg said.

 

"Some business will not survive and some jobs will be lost.

 

"There will be businesses that will fold, there is no doubt about that, and we can't save every business and we can't save every job."

 

The Government recently reduced the rate of the wage subsidy because it argued less support was needed for businesses as COVID-19 restrictions lifted and support through tax incentives was extended.

 

However Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese has again questioned why the JobKeeper rate was cut before an expected rise in unemployment.

 

"We have 160,000 more unemployed people between now and Christmas," he said.

 

"Those circumstances are that those people will be doing it tough and many of those will be because JobKeeper being cut will have an impact and will add to the unemployment queue."

The Devastating Economic Impact of Covid-19 Shutdowns

 

To this point, the destruction caused by state and Federal Covid-19 lockdowns has largely been expressed in aggregates. Yet along the same line as a popular critique of Keynesianism, economic aggregates present a greatly truncated story by smoothing over minute but revealing evidence at lower levels. Looking at the policy impact on a smaller scale – regionally, and in terms of industries/sectors – exposes the impact of mandated shutdowns in greater detail.

 

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, widespread lockdown restrictions were imposed, ostensibly to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed and medical resources from being consumed to exhaustion. Whether policymakers purposely or out of ignorance disregarded them, the tradeoffs of stay-at-home orders were immediate and severe: a massive spike in unemployment, rivaling the Great Depression; similarly historic drops in GDP, and others. By looking at disaggregated data, though, the devastation of lockdowns becomes all the more apparent.

 

Organization

 

We examined the US economy in the period leading up to the Covid-19 policy implementations in two ways: regionally and in terms of industries.

 

For our analysis, U.S. geographic regions are broken into the following areas: New England, Mideast (Midatlantic), Great Lakes, Plains, Southeast, Southwest, Rocky Mountain, and the Far West. These were compared using data on GDP, imports, exports, business formations, and unemployment.

 

In the second section, industries are grouped and analyzed in a two-fold manner, by specific sector, and by location on the vertical supply chain. The following metrics were used:

 

Industrial Production Index: This index (IPI) represents the output of industrial sectors, specifically: consumer goods, non-industrial supplies, materials, and mining. As an index, industrial production is measured against the baseline, which is that 2012 levels were set to 100, and subsequent years compared against it.

 

Capacity utilization: Capacity utilization (CU) is denoted as the percentage maximum potential output that is actually utilized. Functionally, this is

 

Sales/inventory: Sales figures represent, as a dollar figure, the operating revenue of goods sold or services rendered. Inventory is, as a dollar figure, the amount of product that has been produced and stored, but not yet sold.

 

GDP Value-Add: This metric is the dollar amount that a certain sector/region has on the United States’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

 

Change in employment: This value represents the number of jobs gained/lost in a particular measuring period compared with that of the preceding period.

 

Although the lockdown clearly and incontrovertibly damaged industries in aggregate, the breakdown shows clearly that the effects were by no means universal.

At Least 5 Bodies Recovered From Debris After Shelling of Ganja, Azeri Emergencies Ministry Says

St. Louis County Executive Sam Page has some of the strictest lockdown measures in nation. The Democrat has extended unnecessary lockdowns on children and has ruined youth sports. His outlandish rules have caused hundreds of county businesses to close down for good. Poor and middle class county residents are hurt the most and their children are suffering.

 

In August Sam Page toughened his orders requiring face masks, in an effort to keep the coronavirus from spreading. Under Page’s crackdown businesses are not able to serve people who aren’t wearing masks, and children over age 5 will have to wear them in school. People will also need to wear masks at indoor and outdoor businesses. Page also forced children to wear masks in public parks on the way to their soccer games even though others in the park were not wearing masks.

 

On Saturday Sam Page was caught at a local business sitting, chatting and having drinks with friends without a mask.

 

It should not be a surprise Page is struggling in his reelection campaign.

 

It’s time for control hypocrites like Sam Page to go.
