The Pentagon Has Closed Ten Bases In Afghanistan Amid Hastened Draw Down

 

Amid ongoing US negotiations with the Taliban which are aimed at reaching terms that would allow for a complete American troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, which is Washington's longest running war in history, at least ten US military bases have been closed since last February, The Washington Post reports.

 

This also comes after President Trump controversially ordered the Pentagon earlier this month to initiate a drawdown of troops in Afghanistan and Iraq of up to 2,500 from each nation.

 

While the military has not formally confirmed the closure of the bases, which remains classified given the sensitive security nature of troop departures, the WaPo report cited both top US and Afghan officials.

 

The future status of the shuttered bases remains unclear in terms whether they were handed over to Afghan national forces, or if they were simply vacated or possibly destroyed.

 

"Little is known about what remains of those bases, many in Afghanistan’s most volatile provinces where U.S. support for Afghan operations has been critical in pushing back the Taliban," the Post report reads.

 

"Some have been completely handed over to Afghan security forces. Others may have been vacated and left in place in a way in which they could be occupied again in the future if U.S. and Afghan officials consider it necessary. It is also unclear how much equipment — more difficult to move than people — is left at each of the closed installations."

 

As of the start of 2020, this US had up to 14,000 troops in Afghanistan, but this number has since been gradually reduced:

 

In the case of small special forces bases in Syria that were vacated within the past two years - some reportedly had equipment there destroyed by departing US troops while some were promptly taken over by Syrian Army and Russian forces.

 

The fact that at least ten bases in Afghanistan have been closed is a good sign, however, suggesting the US is actually serious about disengaging from what many have seen as an "endless" occupation and war which has bore little fruit for US interests and has remained very unpopular in US public opinion.

Moscow slams Pompeo’s visit to Israeli settlements in occupied Golan as neglect of Int’l Law

 

Russia on Friday renewed its strong criticism of the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s recent visit to the Israeli settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan, stressing that it is an evidence on Washington’s blatant disdain of the principles of the international law.

He considered it as “a provocation”, and called for preserving the unity of Syria and respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

 

Zakharova reiterated Russia’s principled position regarding the illegality of establishing Israeli settlements on the lands that have been seized in 1967.

Infamous Jaysh Al-Izza Military Training Camp Geolocated

 

An infamous military camp, where Jaysh al-Izza trains its militants a few meters away from refugee camps, has been finally geolocated.

 

On November 26, activists on Twitter revealed that the camp was located in northern Idlib, near the al-Bab al-Hawa border crossing less than 2 km away from Turkish border. Three large refugee camps are located right near the camp.

 

The camp is named after Abdul Baset al-Sarout, a so-called “icon” of the Syrian opposition who was killed by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in 2018.

 

For more than two years, Jaysh al-Izza trained its militants with live ammunition and heavy weapons in the camp, a few meters away from refugee camps.

 

The Reverse Side of the Medal, a Telegram news channel with sources in Syria, claimed that the camp is no longer in use. This is very possible as Jaysh al-Izza lost most of its militants and assets in its recent battles with the SAA.

 

The Telegram channel released images of three other military camps in Idlib without clarifying by what factions they are used.

 

Turkey, the main backer of Jaysh al-Izza and other factions in Greater Idlib, is doing nothing to remove such dangerous facilities away from its borders. The border region is now infested with militants’ training camps, military headquarters and even ammunition depots.

Long-withheld evidence of innocence revealed the FBI never thought it had a case against former Trump national security adviser.

 

What a difference three years makes.

 

During Thanksgiving 2017, retired three-star general Michael Flynn was somberly making plans to head to court and plead guilty to a charge of lying to the FBI during a late January 2017 interview, his reputation in tatters and his bank account drained.

 

A day before Thanksgiving this year, a jubilant Flynn took a phone call from President Trump to learn his conviction had been erased by a full pardon.

 

In between, a legal drama of epic proportions unfolded, one that exposed deep flaws with the FBI, the Justice Department and a news media industry that had been sold a story with many conflicting secrets.

 

The dramatic reversal of the Flynn case began with the determination of a new lawyer, Sidney Powell, who took over the former Trump national security advisor’s defense and relentlessly fought to unseal evidence of innocence the government had long tried to conceal.

 

Here are the 10 biggest (and belated) disclosures that Powell forced to light that turned the tide in a case that became a symbol of prosecutorial excesses during the Russia collusion case.

 

Case Closure Memo. Weeks before the FBI sought to interview Flynn, the lead FBI agent who had investigated the retired general for five months wrote a memo to close the investigation on Jan. 4, 2017, concluding he had found "no derogatory" evidence that Flynn committed a crime or posed a national security threat. FBI management then ordered the closure to be rescinded and pivoted toward trying lure Flynn into an interview.

Agent’s ‘Get Trump’ Confession. In an extraordinary interview with prosecutors this fall, the FBI agent who led the Flynn case, William Barnett, admitted there was never evidence of wrongdoing by the retired general or Russian collusion by Trump, but the probe was kept open by Special Counsel Robert Mueller because his team was obsessed with punishing the president. "With respect to Flynn’s [phone call] with the Russian ambassador in December 2016 BARNETT did not believe Flynn was being directed by TRUMP. BARNETT did not believe FLYNN had any additional information to provide SCO. Barnett believed the prosecution of Flynn by SCO was used as a means to 'get TRUMP,’” the interview stated.

Not a Russian agent. A Justice Department memo exonerated Flynn of Russia collusion on Jan. 30, 2017, nearly a year before he pled guilty. "The FBI did not believe Flynn was acting as an agent of Russia," the DOJ memo states.

‘Playing Games.’ The rush to interview Flynn in the absence of any evidence of wrongdoing created significant concerns for Assistant FBI Director for Counterintelligence William Priestap, who poignantly questioned whether the bureau was “playing games” with the interview strategy. "What is our goal?,” Priestap wrote in his handwritten notes that suddenly turned up as evidence in spring 2020. “Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?"

Keith Raniere Most Recent Message to the World: ‘I Will Be Killed in Prison – Soon!’

 

For months, Keith Alan Raniere has been saying he will be killed once he is assigned to a permanent prison.

 

Frank Report now has exclusive audio of his statements, including ones from just these past few days, where he says he is certain to die if he is placed in general population in a maximum-security prison.

 

His attorneys previously asked the judge to recommend that Raniere be assigned a prison with a drop-out yard, where he would be with other prisoners who need protective custody because of the nature of their crimes, their celebrity, or the fact that they are informants.

 

The judge declined to make the recommendation.

 

Raniere was sentenced to 120 years in prison on October 27th. Now, one month later, he remains at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting permanent placement by the Bureau of Prisons. He might be assigned to a maximum-security prison and, by all accounts, he would be unsafe there unless he opted for a life of solitary confinement [protective custody]. He might be assigned to the Supermax in Florence, Colorado, where he would be mandatorily placed in solitary for at least three years. He might also be assigned to a drop-out yard prison, as his attorneys requested, where he would be comparatively safe, far safer than at a regular maximum-security prison.

 

There is another possibility for Raniere. He could request to go to a facility with a high population of sex offenders so that he could undergo treatment for his ‘disease.’ This would require Raniere to admit he is a sex offender, something he is unlikely to do. Of course, the BOP could assign him to such a facility, such as the one in Tucson, Arizona.

 

The best-case scenario for Raniere is the drop-out yard in Allenwood, Pennsylvania. The worse case is solitary confinement at the supermax.

 

Over the past few months, Raniere has expressed concerns to followers that if he goes to a maximum-security prison and is placed among the general population, he will be murdered.

There's No Reopening Plan For Closed NYC Schools, de Blasio Says

 

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Wednesday said that he is taking sole responsibility for closing the city’s public schools without a reopening plan in place.

 

“Honestly, I have to hold myself responsible,” de Blasio said during a press conference when asked why there wasn’t a school reopening plan in place when 1.1 million public school students switched to all-remote learning last Thursday after the citywide CCP virus infection rate hit the three percent threshold.

 

In summer, the de Blasio administration established that the city’s public schools would have to end in-person learning if the citywide CCP virus infection rate hit three percent on a rolling seven-day average. The city reached the threshold last Wednesday, causing all public schools to shut their doors the next day.

 

“The better situation would have been, clearly, to have that plan all worked through in advance,” the Democratic mayor said, arguing that there is no reopening plan for schools because his administration has invested most of the energy into avoiding going past the three percent threshold in the first place.

 

“That’s really where our energy was going, deploying the testing, trying to take actions that we thought might avert the original measure being hit,” de Blasio explained.

 

“I think we didn’t have a plan-B and we should’ve had a plan-B, but I also understand why we didn’t because we were really dealing with so many day-to-day, hour-to-hour issues, and trying to find a way to avert getting to that three percent,” he continued.

 

“The important point is getting to the three percent meant something. It meant there was a problem. It meant that we were dealing with this second wave bearing down on us. That’s a real thing.”

 

De Blasio also promised that the details of a staged reopening plan will be announced next week.

 

Meanwhile, Councilman Mark Treyger, who heads the City Council’s Education Committee, said that he has offered a re-opening plan in July, only to be ignored by the City Hall.

 

“I think it’s important for the public to be aware that [de Blasio] chose for it to be this way,” Treyger said, reported New York Post.

 

“This is not the best that New York City can do, this is the best that he can do.”

Federal appeals court denies Trump campaign effort to revive Pennsylvania lawsuit saying 'claims have no merit'

 

(CNN)A federal appeals court on Friday denied the Trump campaign's effort to revive a federal lawsuit challenging the election results in Pennsylvania, ruling "the claims have no merit."

 

A panel of three judges for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals denied the request by the Trump campaign, led by Rudy Giuliani, to amend its lawsuit, which had been previously rejected.

"The Campaign never alleges that any ballot was fraudulent or cast by an illegal voter," wrote Judge Stephanos Bibas, a Trump appointee, for the panel. "It never alleges that any defendant treated the Trump campaign or its votes worse than it treated the Biden campaign or its votes. Calling something discrimination does not make it so. The Second Amended Complaint still suffers from these core defects, so granting leave to amend would have been futile."

"Charges of unfairness are serious. But calling an election unfair does not make it so. Charges require specific allegations and then proof. We have neither here," the judges added in their opinion.

The President and some of his allies have been questioning the legitimacy of the 2020 election, saying without evidence that it was fraudulent and seeking to use legal battles to overturn results in key states. Most recently, a handful of Pennsylvania Republicans, alongside Giuliani, held a "hearing" in Gettysburg on Wednesday over their baseless allegations of voter fraud.

The judges also rejected the President's motion to undo Pennsylvania's certification of votes. The Keystone state on Tuesday certified its general election results, formally awarding President-elect Joe Biden 20 electoral votes.

"The Campaign's claims have no merit. The number of ballots it specifically challenges is far smaller than the roughly 81,000-vote margin of victory. And it never claims fraud or that any votes were cast by illegal voters. Plus, tossing out millions of mail-in ballots would be drastic and unprecedented, disenfranchising a huge swath of the electorate and upsetting all down-ballot races too. That remedy would be grossly disproportionate to the procedural challenges raised," the judges wrote.

Biden campaign spokesperson Mike Gwin, following the federal appeals court decision, said that "this election is over and Donald Trump lost" and argued "meritless lawsuits" will not change the outcome.

"Desperate and embarrassingly meritless lawsuits like this one will continue to fail and will not change the fact that Joe Biden will be sworn in as President on January 20, 2021," added Gwin.

Jenna Ellis, an attorney for Trump's campaign, said on Twitter following the ruling that "the activist judicial machinery in Pennsylvania continues to cover up the allegations of massive fraud," and pledged to take the case to the Supreme Court.

The President's campaign had appealed a scathing ruling last weekend when Judge Matthew Brann threw out the lawsuit ruling it could not be amended and refiled.

Brann compared it to "Frankenstein's monster … haphazardly stitched together," and slammed the request to disenfranchise nearly seven million voters in a complaint littered with "strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations."

The appeals court referenced the Trump campaign's multiple attempts to alter its lawsuit and praised Brann's handling of the matter. State and local election officials have said there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, and both a federal court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court have dismissed lawsuits seeking to prevent the state from certifying the results of the election.

"We commend the District Court for its fast, fair, patient handling of this demanding litigation," the panel wrote.

How do I make the world better?" he said. "What particular paths they take in doing that, I think, are going to change and vary between the two of them."

 

"I think they're going to want to have an impact and their friends feel the same way," he said. "It's interesting when you talk to them in groups, the degree to which, compared to young people when I was coming out of college or you know even 20 years ago, I think people were much more focused on their finances and the perks of a job. I mean it isn't like the WWI Christmas Day truce, but I think if you went up to random people and asked if these two people would ever get along, you would laugh until you started crying. These two people are complete opposites on the political spectrum. One is way way over on the left and one is way way over on the right. There is one thing that brings them together. One. It is what makes them very unlikely bedfellows. Not that they would get into bed together. I mean, I don't think that would happen. Yeah, that would be the blind of the century if that ever transpired.

 

I previously have discussed one of the people in this pairing. He is an A list California politician who has some moments caught on camera that he would really like to not have come out. Most of these moments involve drug use and some sexual situations that are worthy of a 70's porn film director with a vivid imagination and multiple people at his disposal.

 

Over the past year, this politician has been forced to discuss the situation with someone which then caused the other person to join in the crusade. He has his own reasons for not wanting the recordings to be made public. Although, they would like to own the recordings, this unlikely pair would be perfectly happy to have them destroyed too.

 

The problem they have faced from the onset is that money is not going to be a factor. The person in possession of the recordings is wealthier than both of the parties by a lot. I mean it isn't even close. So, while it lasts, this secret alliance is one for the books and something no one would ever conceive occurring.

PA Gov Tom Wolf was Campaign Chairman for White Supremacist, Supported Convicted Felon

 

Wolf was campaign chairman and a political supporter of former York Mayor Charles Robertson, who was charged as an accomplice to murder in the 1969 death of a young black woman. A jury found Robertson not guilty in 2002.

 

Robertson, a former police officer, was accused of handing out rifle ammunition to a white street gang. Jurors convicted two white men of second-degree murder in the death of Lillie Belle Allen, a South Carolina woman shot as she stepped from her family’s car in a York neighborhood dominated by a white gang, the Newberry Street Boys.

 

Robertson told reporters before his trial that he had been a racist but that sensitivity training reformed him. He admitted to shouting “white power” during the rioting.

 

In a more recent association, Wolf said he continues to support former state Rep. Stephen Stetler, D-York, convicted in 2012 of six felony counts of public corruption for his alleged participation in a scheme to use public employees to do illegal campaign work.

 

Theirs is a friendship, Wolf said, rather than the more professional relationship he had with Robertson while trying to revitalize the city as head of a civic group. Wolf’s hometown is about nine miles north of York, and he is a prominent businessman in the region.

 

Stetler has appealed his conviction to Superior Court. Wolf is one of five civic leaders who led a fundraising effort to help pay Stetler’s legal bills, and he was a character witness at Stetler’s trial.

 

Neither situation should reflect on his ethics, Wolf said. “I believe he is a good person,” Wolf said, adding that he “respectfully disagrees with the court.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Extends Order Suspending Mask Enforcement

 

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) extended his order blocking local governments from enforcing mask mandates across the Sunshine State.

 

DeSantis, who said that Florida will “never do any of these lockdowns again, extended the order he issued in September, which lifted key restrictions in the state and suspended fines for breaking local protocols in relation to mask-wearing. “Just as an act of executive grace, all outstanding fines and penalties that have been applied against individuals are suspended,” DeSantis announced at the time of the initial order. “I think we need to get away from trying to penalize people for not social distancing and work with people constructively,” he added.

 

His decision to extend his order follows pressure from several Florida mayors, who are calling for a statewide mask mandate. “Having a mandatory mask mandate throughout the state so there’s consistency, allowing us as individual counties and cities to determine what other restrictions make sense,” St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman (D) said during a Zoom call last week. Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber (D) attributed an “enormous surge” in coronavirus cases to the governor opening the economy and preventing local governments from enforcing individual mask mandates. According to WSVN, the City of Miami Beach plans to “issue citations to people who refuse to wear facial coverings,” although officials will not be able to immediately penalize violators with a $50 fine due to the extension of DeSantis’s order. DeSantis’s office reiterated last week that the governor will not lock down the state of Florida, even as fellow governors retighten restrictions in their respective states. “The Governor will not lock down and hurt families who can’t afford to shelter in place for 6 weeks. Especially not for a virus that has a 99.8 percent survival rate,” his office stated. The primary focus of concern, his office added, remains on Assisted Living Facilities.

Tl;dr, 1) keep working to convince people of election fraud with the evidence you've got, not with the evidence you're anticipating, 2) I've scraped more than 500 MB of archived NY Times election night/week data, worth checking out if you're a data type, 3) cross correlating vote counting irregularities in the NYT data with archived MSM election night broadcasts turns up great material for convincing normies of electronic voting fraud. (Could I get graphixanons to make this memeable/shareable for the masses?)

 

1) I've been lurking since back when Q first started posting on halfchan, but haven't posted till now. I prefer optimism have we counted how many times Q says "nothing can stop what is coming" but not at the expense of pragmatism. Evidence of voter fraud (all kinds) keeps growing like a tsunami, but sometimes tsunamis hit unpopulated areas and no one sees them. I like to believe that part of "The Plan" Q always tells us to trust includes exposing the tsunami of election fraud evidence/proof to the masses, but the only way I see that happening at the moment is through us anons and our information warfare. Trust me, I want as badly as the next fellow to wake up tomorrow and see the MSM gushing about Trump's incredible election fraud sting op and how he saved our nation. Whether or not you believe this will actually happen is irrelevant though… It hasn't happened yet and until/if it does we need to keep working to convince people that the election was stolen, using whatever facts/evidence they will take seriously.

 

2) I have some experience working with data (making probabilistic models for my PhD research) and I'm trying to get into data science for a career, so when I found out that the NY Times exposes their election results data, I thought it would be a good project to pull as much data as possible. Others have beat me to it with some of the data (e.g., all 50 states timeseries, or precinct timeseries for Philly), but I think I have compiled a lot of data that hasn't been passed around yet (i.e., precinct level timeseries for GA, FL, MI, NC, and PA, county level timeseries for the whole country, congressional, senatorial, and presidential timeseries for all 50 states). Since the NYT terms of service prohibit scraping their website, and I'm not a legalanon, I thought it would be wiser (albeit slower) to grab everything from the Internet Archive instead (actually, some data I couldn't have found without using the Archive, so that worked out better anyway). Anyway, web scraping is new to me, so the effort took longer than I would have wanted, but I guess better late than never, right? 3) In the process of looking through the states timeseries data (this particular data has been around for a while now), I discovered several instances where Biden and/or Trump's vote counts dip down instead of up on some of the state totals. Others have looked at this in more depth, including the anon who estimated the number of votes stolen from Trump (perhaps someone can reply with a link…I can't remember where I saw that interesting analysis). This is really crazy to me as a numbers person, but your average normie needs something a bit more tangible. For most, it's all just too "wacky" and completely out of touch with their experience. How do we convince people our numbers-based conclusions are real or make sense? One answer: show them something familiar, video/still captures of glitches in the MSM election night broadcasts!

I was inspired by the powerful live broadcast video clip from this excellent presentation on electronic vote counting vulnerabilities and proof of their exploitation: https://youtu.be/ficae6x1Q5A?t=1994. The video clip shows an example of vote-switching where ~600 votes are taken from the 2019 KY republican gubernatorial candidate and switched live on cable television to the democrat candidate (but you couldn't see it unless you were really fast!). It turns out that a couple similar examples have been discovered the 2020 presidential election (I think the Gateway Pundit published these examples), but if you look at the NYT data, there should be many more. So, I went hunting for video evidence of the glitches that I found in the NYT data and I rediscovered every glitch in the MSM broadcasts (at least, every glitch where the vote counts showed up on the broadcast chyron for the right state at the right time). Below, I'm listing the examples that I found. This is just the low hanging fruit, however…I'm sure there are numerous glitches I missed. I'm not good at taking video clips or screen captures to make gifs and memes out of this material, so I'm appealing to you anons to help simplify the graphical presentation. I think this sort of thing could be very useful for redpilling folks as Sidney Powell's lawsuit(s?) heats up.

The dozen belated disclosures that turned the tide in Michael Flynn’s case

 

Long-withheld evidence of innocence revealed the FBI never thought it had a case against former Trump national security adviser.

 

1. Case Closure Memo. FBI agent who had investigated the retired general for five months wrote a memo to close the investigation on Jan. 4, 2017.

2. Agent’s ‘Get Trump’ Confession William Barnett, admitted there was never evidence of wrongdoing by the retired general or Russian collusion by Trump, but the probe was kept open by Special Counsel Robert Mueller because his team was obsessed with punishing the president.

3. Not a Russian agent. A Justice Department memo exonerated Flynn of Russia collusion on Jan. 30, 2017, nearly a year before he pled guilty.

4. ‘Playing Games.’ Priestap wrote in his handwritten notes that suddenly turned up as evidence in spring 2020. “Truth/Admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?"

5. Infamous Obama White House meeting. The president gave an instruction for the FBI to put its best people on continuing the probe while Biden suggested considering using the Logan Act to prosecute Flynn, the memos suggest.

6. No deception The FBI agents who interviewed Flynn, including the now-fired Peter Strzok, did not believe Flynn intended to lie or be deceptive in his interview.

 

7. Logan Act threat wasn't real. DOJ officials immediately did not believe Flynn could realistically be prosecuted under the Logan Act for his conversations with the Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

8. DOJ heartburn. “The interview was problematic from Yates’ perspective because, as a matter of protocol and courtesy, the White House Counsel’s Office should have been notified beforehand," a DOJ memo stated

9. Disguising a required warning. "It would be an easy way to just casually slip that in," FBI lawyer Lisa Page texted during the discussions

10. FBI Deception. Comey said the tactic was "something I probably wouldn't have done or maybe gotten away with in a more organized administration.

11. Interview Reports Edited. Pientka wrote the original interview report, known as a 302, then Strzok heavily edited it, so much so that he worried he was “trying not to completely re-write” the memo.

12. Flynn's visit with Putin was approved, not nefarious. His December 2015 visit to Moscow was cleared by his former employer, the Defense Intelligence Agency, and he received a defensive briefing before he went to Russia and debriefed with U.S. intelligence after he returned.

Bonusgate 2008: A History of Corruption in PA Democrat Legislature

 

12 Pennsylvania Democrats Indicted in 'BonusGate'

 

Mike Veon, the number two Democrat in the Pennsylvania State House, and 10 former and current legislative aides and a sitting lawmaker, State Rep. Sean M. Ramaley, were all indicted by a Grand Jury in what is being called "BonusGate"

 

After a 17 month probe, two state grand juries, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, have indicted 12 Democrats for alleged illegal activities and according to prosecutors, more charges are expected in what they are calling a "widespread" conspiracy within the Pennsylvania Democratic caucus to use tax payer funds to finance political activities.

 

At the end of 2006, after winning back control of the lower chamber, House Democrats gave nearly $1.9 million in bonuses to 717 aides - more than the other three caucuses combined.

Corbett continues on to say, "We are investigating all four caucuses of the general assembly."

 

In its ensuing investigation, this Grand Jury has uncovered a concerted plan to use taxpayer funds, employees and resources for political campaign purposes. Over the course of over a number of years, former representative Mike Veon and others, some named herein and others un-named, engaged in a concerted pattern of illegal conduct in which millions of dollars in taxpayer funds and resources were misdirected to campaign efforts.

The presentment goes on to list specific examples as well as presenting emails discussing the bonuses given to certain employees, the amount decided by how much political campaign efforts those employees supplied, going back as far as 2003 and 2004.

These employees were ranked by how much effort they put into the political campaigns, the rankings were 1-Rock Stars, 2- Good and 3-OK.

In an internal email sent from Mr. Eric Webb to Mr. Mike Manzo, it is explained how those rankings were determined (Page 9-10).

Namely, I based my decisions on the number of days people spent in the field, but a few people were bumped up or down based on other circumstances. For example, some folks were bumped up for extra efforts, like being a Phone Book Captain, helping with the Spanish phone bank or really helping Dan or Jess.

There were three attachments to that email titled, Rockstar, Good and OK, and in each attachment was a list of names.

In testimony given by Eric Webb, he said that his reference to Dan and Jess, was a reference to Dan Weidemer and Jess Walls, who were "the two individuals in charge of the House Democratic Campaign Committee.

Webb also confirmed that the information on these ranking list only pertained to campaign work.

There are quite a few emails in the Harrisburg Grand Jury Presentment as well as more information of other improprieties pertaining to the use of taxpayers funds for political campaigns.

More details that emerge from the Harrisburgh Grand Jury Presentment, show that the investigation led to other improprieties conducted by staffers and lawmakers.

For example, former legislative staffer Mike Manzo got his lover "a $29,000 job and $7,000 bonus mostly for doing her schoolwork."

Other alleged illegal uses for taxpayers monies:

  • In 2005, Manzo, then chief of staff to House Majority Leader Bill DeWeese, gave a $21,000-a-year state job with virtually no duties to Angela Bertugli, a young woman he'd had a sexual relationship with since the previous summer.

The following year she made $29,000 plus a $7,000 bonus, even though other staffers never saw her and she had no discernible responsibilities.

Manzo's wife, Rachel, another former legislative staffer, also is charged with steering public money to political activities.

  • Former House whip Mike Veon and Manzo directed more than $1 million in taxpayer-funded bonuses to legislative employees for working on political campaigns, often on state time.

  • In 2004, Veon used two state employees to drive his and his wife's motorcycles to South Dakota for their vacation so they could fly there and find the bikes waiting. Taxpayers covered their staffers' expenses to the tune of $1,500.

  • After state Rep. Sean Ramaley won the 2004 Democratic primary for a Beaver County legislative seat, Veon gave him a "no-work" state job and allowed him to run his general-election campaign from Veon's office, with state employees doing much of the work.
