Small plane with 3 onboard crashes in Napa County vineyard

 

A small plane carrying three people crashed in a vineyard near Angwin Airport in Napa County and caught fire Friday morning, authorities said.

The condition of the pilot and two passengers has not yet been released.

 

The single-engine Beechcraft Bonzanza had β€œclipped trees while the pilot was trying to execute a missed approach” at the airport around 8:40 a.m., a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson said.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office said that it was also at the scene along with officials from Cal Fire, the FAA and NTSB.

U.S. Military Confirmed Training Some Suspects in Haitian President’s Assassination

 

Some Colombian nationals arrested for suspected involvement in the murder of Haitian President Jovenel Moise this month received U.S. government-funded military training, Voice of America (VOA) reported on Friday.

A Pentagon spokesperson confirmedΒ to VOA in a statement on Thursday that an unspecified number of Colombian nationals β€œdetained by the Haitian National police in connection with the assassination of President Jovenel Moise took part in β€˜U.S. military training and education programs.'”

Haiti National Police have so far arrested 18 Colombian suspects as part of an investigation into President Moise’s assassination at his private residence in Port-au-Prince on July 7.

β€œA review of our training databases indicates that a small number of the Colombian individuals detained as part of this investigation had participated in past U.S. military training and education programs, while serving as active members of the Colombian Military Forces,” Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Ken Hoffman said in a statement issued July 15.

β€œOur review is ongoing, so we do not have additional details at this time,” he added.

Hoffman said the Colombian nationals received β€œtraining that emphasizes and promotes respect for human rights, compliance with the rule of law, and militaries subordinate to democratically elected civilian leadership.”

Colombia was the first Latin American state to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as a β€œglobal partner” in 2017, due in part to BogotÑ’s prominent position as a strategic regional ally for Washington. Colombia has received β€œbillions of dollars in U.S. aid since 2000, most of which has gone to its military and police forces to roll back [leftist] guerrillas that years ago controlled swaths of territory,” the Wall Street Journal reported on July 15.

β€œColombian army intelligence working with U.S. equipment, training and other assistance has been key in operations that neutralized drug traffickers,” according to the U.S.-based newspaper.

β€œ[The U.S.] Congress has appropriated more than $12 billion dollars in aid to Colombia through funds mainly from the [U.S.] Defense and State Departments,” CBS News reported on Thursday, citing data from the U.S.Β Congressional Research Service.

Washington has sent teams from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to Haiti in recent days to support the Haitian National Police as it continues to probe President Moise’s assassination. Haitian security officials found Moise dead at his home in Haiti’s national capital on July 7. The president had been shot 12 times and one of his eyes was reportedly gouged out when authorities recovered his body.

Haiti’s ambassador to the U.S., Bocchit Edmond, said Moise’s gruesome murder β€œwas carried out by foreign mercenaries and professional killers β€” well-orchestrated,” adding that the alleged hit squad β€œwere masquerading as agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration [DEA],” according to the Associated Press (AP). The DEA maintains an office in Port-au-Prince to assist the Haitian government with its counternarcotics programs, according to Haiti’s U.S. Embassy.

Man, 24, is arrested over brazen daylight kidnapping attempt of boy

 

A New York City man who allegedly tried to kidnap a five-year-old boy in broad daylight was arrested on Friday, police said.

 

James McGonagle, 24, was charged with attempted kidnapping, reckless endangerment and acting in a manner injurious to a child for allegedly trying to kidnap little Jacob Diaz, the NYPD said.

 

An older bald man, allegedly McGonagle's accomplice, remains to be found. He was seen in the alarming video of the attack wearing jeans and an orange polo shirt with sunglasses.

 

Jacob's mother Dolores Diaz Lopez, 45, was filmed in surveillance footage rescuing her son, pulling him from a kidnapper's car through the window after he was brazenly snatched from a sidewalk in Queens.

Two men were indicted in connection with conspiracy to attack the Democratic headquarters building in Sacramento, the FBI's San Francisco office announced Thursday. Congressional Black Caucus Chair Joyce Beatty arrested at voting rights protest

 

Rep. Joyce Beatty was arrested by US Capitol Police on Thursday afternoon after participating in a voting rights protest that culminated in a march inside the Senate Hart Office Building atrium.

 

Beatty, the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, participated in a small rally alongside 12 activists outside the Supreme Court building before marching to Hart, singing songs including "We Shall Overcome" and "This Little Light of Mine."

Satellite images from February and May 2018 show a newly constructed radome on the signals intelligence base near Bejucal, Cuba. Its protective dome and elevated mounting make it the first of its kind among the numerous long-standing sigint antennas at Bejucal, which have been used to intercept electronic communications from the United States.

The new steerable parabolic antenna and its spherical enclosure (together called a radome) were erected on a site adjacent to other known Cuban surveillance antennas south of Havana near the town of Bejucal between March 2017 and February 2018. The functions of the new antenna are not discernible from the current satellite images, but similar antennas have been employed for signals interception, missile tracking, satellite uplinks and downlinks, radio communications, tracking of objects in space, and in some cases to disrupt satellite communications. The radome, approximately 6–7 meters in diameter, sits atop a square building approximately 11–12 meters wide. If the antenna can be tilted to horizontal –a common capability– its elevated position could also enable direct communications with vessels at sea or other signal sources on the horizon.

 

The Bejucal signals intelligence site had a relatively static number of parabolic antennas –approximately two dozen– from 2010 until 2016, and only one of them, considerably smaller than the new radome, was covered, although such coverings are common in many other nations, particularly at facilities with military or intelligence functions. Such specialized coverings can protect from weather and wear, but another advantage is that they conceal the orientation, and thus the possible purposes, of the antenna within.

Satellite images of the signals intelligence base near Bejucal also show that two smaller steerable parabolic antennas were installed in April-May 2017, the same period as the beginning of construction of the new radome. These antennas, located 460 meters south of the newly constructed radome, are linked by above-ground conduits to two other antennas installed as recently as May 2016.

The governments of both Russia and China have recently signaled their intent to augment military and economic investments in Cuba. In 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin wrote off approximately 90% of the $32 billion Cuba owed on Soviet-era debt. In the same year, a Russian member of parliament stated that Russia would re-establish the sort of collaboration with Cuba it had had at the Lourdes signals intelligence site south of Havana during the Cold War (Lourdes was shut down in 2001). The Russian administration denied this shortly afterward, but in 2016 a senior Russian defense official suggested Russia was considering reopening a military base in Cuba. The Russian signals intelligence ship Viktor Leonov docked at the port of Havana in 2014, 2015, 2017, and most recently in March 2018, following a reconnaissance patrol along the southeast coast of the U.S. that included an excursion within 20 nautical miles of the Kings Bay submarine base in Georgia. In 2017 Russia completed a new satellite communications ground station not far from Cuba, in Nicaragua, purportedly for GPS-type signals, but other uses cannot be ruled out.

 

Cuba’s largest international creditor and trading partner is China, which recently made a $120 million development loan for a container port at Santiago de Cuba. In the past three years, several Chinese companies have announced investments in production and research facilities in Cuba, as well as a proposed $460 million golf course near Havana. These followed a state visit to Cuba by China’s President Xi Jinping in 2014, in which he met with then-president RaΓΊl Castro as well as the ailing Fidel Castro. Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang visited in 2016, meeting with both Castro brothers and signing 20 cooperation agreements between the two countries. Reciprocal visits by high-level Cuban and Chinese military leaders took place in 2015–2017. There is scant public evidence that Beijing is behind the new radome at Bejucal, but U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, a member of the Senate’s Committee on Foreign Relations as well as the Select Committee on Intelligence, identified China in 2016 as being active in Cuba-based electronic surveillance of the U.S. by referring publicly to β€œthis Chinese listening station in Bejucal.” As reported in The Diplomat, China has also recently built a space tracking station in Argentina, operated by China’s military, that experts say could have both civilian and military/intelligence purposes, and which has a longitudinal alignment with geosynchronous satellites stationed above the U.S. Eastern Seaboard that control civilian and defense communications.

 

The Cuban government has been reported to sell its intercept data from U.S. communications to third-party buyers, particularly military adversaries of the U.S. Also, in 2003, Persian-language satellite transmissions by Voice of America and the Los Angeles-based Iranian opposition television network NITV were reported to have been blocked by jamming signals originating from Cuba.

The brand new installation at the Bejucal base suggests augmented capabilities for signals interception and disruption by Cuba, China, Russia, or a combination of these authoritarian governments, via a facility less than 550 kilometers from U.S. Central Command, and ideally situated to intercept signals from geosynchronous satellites servicing the entire Eastern United States.

Mysterious New Spy Radar Appears In Cuba

A new β€œsignals intelligence” facility appearing in satellite imagery of Bejucal, Cuba, over recent months is capable of signal interception, ballistic missile monitoring and tracking objects in outer space, but analysts are puzzled about who provided the financing to build the facility.

Signals intelligence is defined by the US National Security Agency as information drawn from electronic signals emanating from communications systems, radars and weapons systems.

 

A combined radar and dome structure, or radome, was built in the spring of this year near Bejucal, just south of Havana, images obtained by the Diplomat show. The US is aware of other radars in the same area, the news outlet said, which have a track record of capturing electronic communications transmitted by the US.

 

Victor Robert Lee and Digital Globe have the copyrights to the images showing the radome’s construction progress and eventual completion from February to May of this year.

The relationship between the US and Cuba has long been contentious, with former US President Barack Obama rolling back some restrictions to links with the island nation at the end of his term only to have some tightened again by President Donald Trump. Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who is of Cuban descent, claimed in 2016 that a β€œgood deal” between the US and Cuba would include getting rid of β€œthis Chinese listening station in Bejucal,” The Diplomat reported.

 

Professor Manuel Cereijo, an electrical engineering faculty member at Florida International University, told the Dallas Morning News in 2001 that β€œChina is making Cuba a military and intelligence-gathering center.”

 

Responding to the Dallas-based newspaper about the academic’s statement, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Havana dismissed the charges as lies.

I don't think their plans were really all that good in the first place. They still would lose, but it would be a more costly loss for all involved.

 

Consider - Hillary was supposed to lose via "russian" hackers, making Trump and his supporters national security threats and throw the military into confusion. Consider that the case for Trump and his supporters being rooskies would need to be much stronger than just things like the steele dossier if you want the military to have any kind of movement toward domestic policing.

While people like millet are woke walrus whores, they are a minority of the military and getting a true suppression of trumpism from a political standpoint requires more for the general staff than media fanfare that can confuse all the normies.

But this wouldn't have changed the underlying political ideologies. Rare would be the person who saw the "trump is a russian asset who stole the election" narrative succeed and say "gosh, I guess I am wrong about my views on government." At best, there could have been a bit of a chilling effect, but you would quite possibly have seen a fracture of the military under that scenario as there were many who would have risked treason to prevent a hillary presidency.

 

Keep in mind that they are basically accusing Trump of what they planned to try using Hillary - and failed.

 

They would have tried stirring up shit in Syria and still released covid - but I don't see a situation in which this would have gone especially well for them. At best, it would simply have been more destructive to everyone and they would still have more people enthralled under their 'spell.'

 

The damage to infrastructure would have been immense, many of their fiercest opponents are the most productive people whose abdication of their job and even turning on it to deny the infrastructurento them would knock us back to the horse and buggy. Or… More likely some weird post-collapse world where we live like Eastern Europe amid the ruins of the Roman empire - or the Inner Sphere amid the ruins of the Star League.

 

Trump kind of forced the mask off of them and his relative success sidelined the most dangerous parts of their plan and forced them to try and work it in otherwise.

 

As "bad" as the January 6th 'riot' was - it was easy enough to subvert. How absurd is it that the democrats have no choice but to use it as their rallying event - and it is on the level of a frat party?

 

When you have their playbook, you don't prevent them from taking their moves. You can't take away the opponent's right to vote on how the battle unfolds. You just make sure they have plenty of assistance in moving the way that best suits you.

Secret audits would be rather difficult to conduct. At least as we have seen with the audit in Arizona. It is possible that higher speed audits could have been performed using digital means on the systems involved and that this could be used once the public side audits gained traction.

America’s singular function is to be as described deep in the Bible itself: a light for the world, a light that cannot be hidden.

 

My interpretation of the light is the truth, and I know from personal experience that truth cannot be hidden β€” it always rises to the surface. Although some may desire to keep falsehoods and lies alive, I firmly believe that the return to faith by many Americans today is further evidence of God’s divine Providence and his determination for America to be a light for the rest of the world.

 

What is America’s foundation? She was a new creation preordained by God yet made by man. Through prayer, toil, hardship, sacrifice, then resilience and determination, America was founded so future generations could shine, reflecting the greatness of him.

 

America was destined to be a truth, a light, a foundation for mankind to embrace. Through Providence, America’s foundation remains strong. It is β€œWe the People,” in our human form that gives in, too easily at times, to the very weaknesses we tend to deny exist in our own lives. Remember, although America was divined by our Creator, our nation was made by man; therefore, it can be destroyed by man.

 

To most nations across the entire planet, America is seen as the last bastion of salvation β€” salvation not in the biblical sense but in a practical sense. I’ve stated on many occasions there is one thing far more important than personal freedom, and that is your personal faith in God. There is only one America, built on faith, faith in ourselves as individuals, faith in each other (especially our families), and faith in our communities and our country.

 

Today, with a scornful wonder, the world now sees us as oppressed. You say, β€œReally, America is an oppressed nation?” Once you start denying the very existence of truth, the necessity of accountability, then every decision we make will be without a firm foundation. I believe that is where we find ourselves today. We are an oppressed nation because of the denial of truth.

 

What next then? How much longer will this night of scorn last? When will the light of a new dawn break? What will it take to wake up the American giant slumbering restlessly on a foundation created by a set of values and principles that can only be measured by the sacrifices of our Founding Fathers who gave up everything for future generations? Is today’s generation of Americans capable of similar sacrifices?

 

I remain optimistic that America’s foundation remains solid. I also believe we are being tested by our Creator. Fairy dust will not be sprinkled on our heads and suddenly β€” poof β€” everything is made right. Many ask how long does the toil of war await the consummation of peace?

My call to action is twofold: First, stop complaining about your problems, and two, take action in your personal lives. I like the phrase β€œlocal action has a national impact.” There are many examples springing up all across America. This is what further strengthens the foundation as well as the structures of our city on the hill.

 

In 1630, John Winthrop delivered a sermon on board a ship hazarding an Atlantic Ocean crossing. The congregation comprised people seeking to discover a new world and a new life. They were sacrificing everything, leaving their former homeland for a variety of individual reasons, but principally due to political persecution for their Christian beliefs.

 

According to β€œThe Puritans: A Sourcebook of Their Writings,” Winthrop β€œpreached to the emigrants that the eyes of the world would be upon them, that they would be as a city set upon a hill for all to observe.” If these faithful principles were true from the very origins of America, then from the very beginning, America has played a role in setting the world right.

 

Yes, America does differ from the rest of the world. From the laying of the foundation to building out our β€œone nation under God,” America’s strength is in our people. The foundation is not stone, concrete, property or even wealth.

 

On that vessel were people of the least means and some of many, but all felt equal in the eyes of our Creator; all depended on each other during their journey; all knew that survival and longevity were based on the worthiness of each other’s talents and skills and blending them together not only to survive but to thrive.

 

America’s foundation reveals many things, but the most important is that β€œWe the People” still represent those on that long journey seeking a better life. We the people are the ones in charge of our children, our homes, our communities, our health and yes, our destiny. We the people represent what remains good and decent in America, and we the people represent the bedrock of our foundation.

 

I’ll leave you with this: Silent and humble prayer is the most powerful weapon on earth. To achieve victory, which some have described as β€œsweet communion” with our Creator, we have to pray for strength, courage and conviction for ourselves and for each other.

 

However, regardless if we are meek and lowly or wealthy and prosperous, we owe allegiance to our Creator and what comes with allegiance is standing up after prayer and acting β€” acting in good faith for ourselves, our families, our communities and most especially, our nation. But our actions must be moral, ethical, legal and peaceful. Maintaining the moral high ground is the surest way to achieve victory.

 

America was and will forever be the example for the world to see of that shining city on the hill for all faithful, freedom-loving people to seek. While our foundation remains strong and our courage remains immeasurable, our clarion call must now be to stand and demand accountability.

 

We must demand accountability first from ourselves and then from our communities and our country, especially our elected officials. Are we the people ready to stand to answer the call? I for one believe we are. May God continue to shine his light on this β€œcity on the hill” we call America.

The effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine against the Delta variant is β€œweaker” than health officials hoped, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Friday, as 855 people tested positive for coronavirus and more countries were added to the list of places having high infection rates.

β€œWe do not know exactly to what degree the vaccine helps, but it is significantly less,” Bennett said.

The prime minister held a meeting of top health officials and ministers to discuss the next steps for managing the virus in light of the numbers in Israel and what Bennett described as β€œthe Delta mutation leaping forward around the world, including in vaccinated countries such as Britain, Israel and the US.”

He said that in β€œBritain, in recent days, we have seen a jump in the number of children who are being hospitalized on a daily basis. This is a development that we are aware of; we are dealing with it rationally and responsibly.”

The highest number of coronavirus cases since March was diagnosed on Thursday, with 1.52% of tests returning positive, the Health Ministry said in a Friday announcement.

While the spike in daily cases continues, the increase in serious morbidity has remained limited.

Of those infected, 52 were in serious condition, two less than the day before. A week earlier, there were 41. In April, with about 5,900 active cases, similar to the current number, more than 340 patients were in serious condition.

The likely explanation is that among the current virus carriers, some 2,000 are schoolchildren, and half of them were fully vaccinated. Both groups are very unlikely to develop severe forms of the disease, even though it occasionally happens. At the moment, around 60% of the patients in serious conditions were vaccinated.

FURTHERMORE, the ministers agreed to prepare for enforcing the "Happy Badge" that only gives access to weddings and similar events with more than 100 guests to those who are vaccinated, recovered or holders of a recent negative coronavirus test.

The system is only relevant for indoor gatherings where food and drinks are served and people both sit and stand. There will be no cap on participants, and people will be required to wear masks.

A joint team run by the Health and Transportation ministries will examine the policies at Ben-Gurion Airport. And the relevant authorities will begin preparations for the High Holidays and the opening of the school year in the shadow of coronavirus.

Finally, the ministers also agreed that all of the staff hired by the hospitals to help during the coronavirus crisis would remain employed until the passing of a state budget. This includes some 600 doctors and 1,600 nurses.

Last week, thousands of administrative and other support staff from 30 medical centers across the country were on strike over some 200 positions that were likewise hired during the pandemic.

The strike ended on Thursday and all of the employees agreed to go back to work after a deal was brokered between Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz and the Histadrut Labor Union, which similarly said that until the state budget is formulated, all employees that were hired during the COVID-19 pandemic would remain in their jobs.

The doctors, nurses and support staff who were hired to help the hospitals during the crisis were supposed to lose their jobs at the end of the month.

In addition, it was agreed on Thursday that Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David would discuss a wage increase for these workers with the Finance Ministry.

THE MEETING came shortly after the Health Ministry announced its intention to add Spain and Kyrgyzstan to the list of banned countries, and the UK, Cyprus, Turkey, Georgia, Uganda, Myanmar, Fiji, Panama, Cambodia, Kenya and Liberia to the list of red countries – meaning that if Israelis travel to these places, they will have to be isolated on return for seven to 14 days.

Other countries for which there is already a severe travel warning include the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Guatemala, Honduras, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Paraguay, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Tunisia.

The list of banned countries includes Argentina, Brazil, India, Mexico, Russia and South Africa. Israelis are prohibited from visiting these countries unless they obtain permission from the devoted governmental special committee.

The government is expected to approve the new list of countries next week.

PA Man Offers $300, Travels To South Jersey For Sex With 14-Year-Old Girl, AG Says

 

A Pennsylvania construction employee was arrested on felony charges for allegedly traveling to South Jersey for sex with a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.

 

Robert Reinhart, 52, of Telford, PA was one of 31 men arrested in a statewide crackdown of online child abuse titled "Operation 24/7," the New Jersey Attorney General’s office announced Wednesday.

 

Reinhart allegedly texted an undercover detective who was posing as the adult sister of a fictitious 14-year-old girl, authorities said.

 

He agreed to pay the older sister $300 to have sex with her "younger sister," authorities said.

 

He was arrested by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s office on April 1 in West Deptford, NJ while he was attempting to meet with the girl at a hotel, authorities said.

 

Reinhart was charged with luring (2nd degree), attempted sexual assault (2nd degree), and attempted human trafficking (2nd degree).

 

The 31 arrests were made between April 1 and June 30, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said. The men arrested in the three-month operation range in age from 18 to 65.

 

β€œThrough major cooperative efforts like Operation 24/7, we are sending a message to sex offenders that if you threaten or exploit children, we will identify and arrest you,” said Director Lyndsay Ruotolo of the Division of Criminal Justice.

 

β€œIn addition to pursuing tips from NCMEC, we routinely conduct proactive investigations on social media platforms and peer-to-peer file-sharing networks to identify online predators and offenders distributing child sexual abuse materials. There can be no higher priority than protecting our children.”

President Donald Trump and his supporters are emboldened after revelations that many thousands of counted votes are tainted in Maricopa County, Arizona as the Republican state Senate’s forensic audit continues. The Trump Team responded with vindication when the audit found that 11,326 people in the county who voted in the November 3 election were NOT on the voter rolls on November 7, but were added to the voter rolls by December 4. This number is higher than Joe Biden’s supposed statewide β€œlead” in Arizona of 10,457 votes. Additionally, more than 74,000 mail-in ballots were counted in the county even though there is no recorded evidence of the ballots being sent to the β€œvoters” in the first place β€” and Maricopa County withheld all photographic evidence of the mail-in ballot envelopes from the Republican audit team. Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan said at a hearing before Arizona state senators Thursday that his election audit found more than 74,000 mail-in ballots that were counted in Maricopa County with no record of them being sent to the voters, and that the standard of verification for mail-in ballots dropped down to zero during the counting process. Logan is demanding the full library of mail-in ballot images from Maricopa County, which the county has not provided to him. Biden’s official lead in Arizona stands at only 10,457 votes.

 

β€œWe have 74,243 mail-in ballots where there is no clear record of them being sent,” Doug Logan said. β€œAnd so we have 74,000 where we have them came back from individuals where we don’t have a clear indication that they were ever sent out to them.”

 

Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan stated that the standard of verification for mail-in ballots dropped considerably as the volume of the ballots increased. β€œWe’ve had an affidavit that specifically stated that when mail-in ballots were received, that so many of them were received that the standard was reduced over time. They originally talked about, there was originally 20 points of comparison on the signature and then after some time they were told to go to ten points of comparison, then five. And then eventually they were just told to let every single mail-in ballot through,” Doug Logan stated, noting that Maricopa County is withholding mail-in ballot images that can be used as evidence. Former Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett recommended re-subpoenaing those images.

Open Borders Lobby Begs for Amnesty After DACA Ruled Unconstitutional

 

Open borders activists are decrying Judge Andrew Hanen’s ruling that declared former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program unconstitutional, stating that amnesty for illegal aliens is now more important than ever.

 

On Friday, Hanen ruled that the Obama administration had illegally implemented the DACA program to shield hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens from deportation. The program, Hanen ordered, must be effectively shut down to new, illegal alien applicants.

 

In response, the nation’s leading open borders organizations are blasting the ruling and demanding that Congress pass an amnesty to keep millions of illegal aliens enrolled and eligible for DACA in the United States.

 

β€œThis ruling is wrong and is subject to appeal. But Dreamers’ futures shouldn’t be in the hands of the courts,” the American Civil Liberties Union’s Omar Jadwat said in a statement:

 

It is absolutely urgent that Congress acts now through the budget reconciliation process to provide Dreamers and other undocumented members of our communities with reliable status and a pathway to citizenship. [Emphasis added]

 

CASA’s Gustavo Torres said in a statement that his group β€œis furious that Judge Hanen has once again attacked the immigrant community from the bench” and vowed to β€œfight back against this terrible decision.”

 

β€œNothing should be more urgent than for Congress to move on citizenship for all, including DACA holders, immediately,” Torres continued.

 

United We Dream, an open borders group linked to billionaire George Soros, wrote in a statement that Hanen’s ruling is β€œvindictive and cruel” and pleaded with Senate Democrats to pass amnesty through a filibuster-proof maneuver known as reconciliation that would only require majority support in the Senate.

 

β€œJust this week, Senate Democrats included a pathway to citizenship for millions in their proposed budget resolution, which was a direct result of our movement’s power,” United We Dream’s Greisa Martinez Rosas said. β€œDemocrats must act now to make citizenship a reality.”

 

The American Immigration Council, a powerful mass migration lobbying organization, said Hanen’s ruling only underscores the necessity that Congress pass amnesty:

 

Despite the fact that the legality of DACA has already been settled by multiple courts, Judge Hanen has now done what the Trump administration tried unsuccessfully for years. Congress has a unique opportunity to finally do what is right, not just for DACAmented youth, but also for the millions of people who have been forced to live in the shadows for far too long. Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) suggested this week that President Joe Biden is on board with slipping an amnesty through Congress via the filibuster-proof reconciliation maneuver.

 

Should Democrats try to sneak an amnesty into a budget via reconciliation, it will be up to Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough to halt the plan on the grounds that the measure is not budget-related but actually alters federal immigration law. MacDonough previously stopped Democrats from increasing the federal minimum wage via reconciliation.

 

A DACA amnesty would put more U.S.-born children of illegal aliens β€” commonly referred to as β€œanchor babies” β€” on federal welfare, as Breitbart News reported, while American taxpayers wouldpotentially be left with a $26 billion bill.

 

Additionally, about one-in-five DACA illegal aliens, after an amnesty, would end up on food stamps, while at least one-in-seven would go on Medicaid.

 

At the southern border, a DACA amnesty has the potential to trigger a border surge that could triple the number of illegal aliens pouring through the border. Since DACA’s inception, more than 2,100 recipients of the program have been kicked off because they were found to be either criminals or gang members.

Six-Year-Old Killed, 5 Adults Injured in Shooting Attack in Washington, Reports Suggest

 

A six-year-old girl was killed and five adults were injured as a result of an overnight shooting attack in the US capital of Washington, the CNN broadcaster reported on 17 July, citing police.

 

The incident took place shortly after 11 p.m. local time on Friday (03:00 on Saturday GMT).

 

CNN quoted Metropolitan Police Department Executive Assistant Chief Ashan Benedict as saying that the girl was taken to a hospital where she later died.

 

In addition, three men and two women sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the broadcaster said.

Michigan Senate Repeals Emergency Powers Law, Whitmer Unable to Veto

 

Michigan’s Senate on Thursday approved a petition that repeals Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s emergency powers, with another approval expected by the state’s lower chamber.

 

Whitmer, a Democrat, cannot veto the petition.

 

The Michigan Senate’s 20-15 vote came two days after the Board of State Canvassers certified the petition, which was started by a group called Unlock Michigan that gathered over 340,000 signatures.

 

The board deadlocked 2-2 in April but voted 3-0 this time around.

 

The petition took aim at the 1945 Emergency Powers Act that enabled Whitmer to impose harsh restrictions on state residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Republicans on the Senate floor before the vote praised the petition and said it was needed to curb Whitmer’s power.

 

β€œThis initiative represents a people’s veto of this governor and the unlimited power that she’s tried to claim during this pandemic,” state Sen. Tom Barrett, a Republican, told colleagues.

 

Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, another Republican, said the petition β€œdoesn’t take power away” but β€œreassesses where the power belongs.”

 

Democrats offered different explanations for their β€œno” votes.

 

State Sen. Mallory McMorrow, a Democrat, argued that the legislature is β€œa deliberatively slow moving body.”

 

β€œBut when an emergency faces our state, we don’t have the luxury of time. That is what this legislature of the past put into place. And I could not in good conscience support or measure to remove those powers and put future residents at risk if the executive of the state does not have the ability to act quickly,” she said.

 

A Whitmer spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.

 

A Michigan House of Representatives GOP spokesman told news outlets that the chamber will vote on the petition soon. If it does not within approximately one month, or if the vote fails, then voters will decide on whether to repeal the emergency powers law in the next election.

 

Republicans control both chambers of the legislature in Michigan.

 

If the House follows the Senate, then an emergency declaration will be good for 28 days before requiring the legislature’s approval to be extended.

 

The vote on Thursday came after a series of developments, including a ruling by the Michigan Supreme Court that the emergency powers law was unconstitutional. The court later ordered the Board of State Canvassers to certify the petition after the board deadlocked along party lines, with Republicans voting for and Democrats against, in April.

 

Unlock Michigan, meanwhile, received approval this week for a new petition that would limit emergency powers for the Michigan Department of Health. Unlock Michigan spokesperson Fred Wzolek told The Epoch Times that the petition was β€œanother step to keep Whitmer from ruling by decree on her own.”

I think this line of reasoning is often used to justify serfdom. If there wasn't a system keeping people in a position of dire need, then they would not work.

Not saying you mean it this way, but we have generally seen that people will work to gain better things. People's wants are boundless.

 

The thing is that most of these "no need to work" society models insist on punishing the ground work. For example - if I was on unemployment right now, why would I go to work in a factory when I can pretend to look for work and get paid enough to live and just play games? Working doesn't help me earn more, it just means I replace what could be 'free' with my own efforts, and that makes little sense.

 

If everyone owned their home and the land they are on and had few to no debts - then they would not work to improve their homes or make new and better things? Or buy new/other land to develop how they want?

People do not need debt and serfdom to justify working.

However, if you own both the monetary system and their debt, then you can try and steer their efforts into what you think is worth rewarding. Farming? That just feeds society, no need to allow that to be reflect fair market value. Prop up the job of accounting ball fluffers who make the stonks look like stonks. Just not the idiots who keep shorting game stop.

 

Though, at present, the democrats are trying to speed run Mao-io World and the collapse of the currency is going to be interesting to say the least. From what I have seen, while there is some fuckery in the mil, most of it is fuckery with the mil. It's top-down efforts to impose via HR the way the commies always try it.

But there is a bit more to it than that. Military recruitment is down and so that is where you get the "go broke, try woke" approach from. The midwest that has been the staple of U.S. military service has generally stopped enlisting. Forever wars and missions changing with the politics creates a lot of disinterest. So, the military is trying to target a demographic that has never been appealed to, before - and while there are some takers, the proglets in HR forget that they spent decades pumping the idea that the military is for hicks, retards, and people facing criminal conviction. So trying to appeal to the glitter glows whoring themselves out for college debt relief is probably not going to get a solid response. Offer student loan forgiveness and not only could you enlist breeding sows willingly, you could field a land war in asia.

 

What has been done to the younger generations should, bluntly, see every boomer in jail. The real inflationary wave is going to come amid boomer retirement and drawing against social security…. Which is insolvent and the boomer memes of increasing social security payments to track the living wage are already abundant. Yet, as we are seeing today, the advance of freedom and democracy is not a straight path, but one that also sustains setbacks.

 

Americans have kept their republic and built it to be strong, but it will only remain so under constant vigilance. The bombing scare in Britain, where an ineffectual bomb was detonated in Glasgow airport and several other plots unfurled in London, helps remind us that freedom's enemies are as determined as ever. After a full decade of progress following the end of the Cold War, democracy is still under attack and retreating in other parts of the world. The Muslim Arab world presents a persistent and difficult challenge; China continues on its own path, which it hopes will prove that freedom and economic prosperity do not have to go hand in hand; Russia is taking the road toward a kind of authoritarianism of the past; in Africa, democracy's progress has been uneven to say the least; and some countries in Latin America are seeing autocratic populism resurging.

President Bush's ambitious declaration of the advance of freedom and democracy to be his banner causes has run into a tempest of radical terrorist opposition in Iraq and elsewhere in the Middle East, calling into doubt a once promising Iraq policy. Ironically, those on the left who in the past declared themselves democracy's champions have responded with cynicism to the goal of bringing freedom to oppressed nations. Advancing the American model of governance is regarded by some both here and in Europe as naive and imperialist. This is a sad state of affairs.

 

A Pew Research Center poll released last week on global views of America illustrates the problem. Public rejection of American democracy is prevalent in most countries. This may reflect opinions about the way in which the United States has implemented its pro-democracy agenda, and also about America's democratic values themselves. In 43 of 47 countries surveyed, a majority say that the United States promotes democracy mostly where it serves its interests, rather than as a matter of principle. Even more unfortunately, this cynicism also includes 63 percent in the United States itself. Only 45 percent of Americans have faith in American leadership in the world.

 

How to restore faith in the American political system and in its importance as a model for democracy to be exported and shared will, for the most part, be the job of the next president of the United States. Meanwhile, history will likely look more favorably on the vision of Mr. Bush than we see today. By comparison, the star of President Reagan has been ascending since he left office, and it is worth recalling that the Berlin Wall fell during the presidency of Mr. Reagan's successor, the current President Bush's father. Mr. Reagan's vision of worldwide freedom earned him scorn at the time, whereas history has vindicated him.

 

As Mr. Reagan stated at Yorktown in 1981, "Our Declaration of Independence has been copied by emerging nations around the globe, its themes adopted in places many of us have never heard of. Here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights. We the people declared that the government is created by the people for their own convenience." As powerful as that message is, it has to receive constant reinforcement from those who remain convinced of its promise.

This is a refusal on your part to accept reality. Baby boomers have consistently viewed their children with contempt.
