Coercion? Anti-Lockdown MP Warns UK ‘Moving to Compulsory Vaccination’

 

A leading member of a group of anti-lockdown Tory MPs has warned that the UK is “effectively moving to compulsory vaccination”, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that a vaccine passport will be the condition of entry for large venues like nightclubs.

 

On Monday, the day touted as ‘Freedom Day’, Prime Minister Johnson announced: “By the end of September, when all over-18s will have had their chance to be doubled-jabbed, we’re planning to make full vaccination the condition for entry to nightclubs and other venues where large crowds gather. Proof of a negative test will no longer be enough.”

 

Faced with the prospect of Britain going down the route of introducing its first domestic vaccine passports, Mark Harper MP, the chairman of the Conservative lockdown-sceptic Covid Recovery Group (CRG), said: “I have to say I don’t welcome the minister’s statement, particularly vaccine passports for crowded venues, which is effectively moving to compulsory vaccination.”

 

Mr Harper also suggested in comments reported by The Guardian that the government could fail to win support when the measures are voted on in parliament, saying: “I do however look forward to the debate and the vote in parliament when he will bring forward the evidence because I don’t think that is supported by the pilots that have taken place.”

 

The Liberal Democrats, who have been consistent in their opposition to vaccine passports, condemned the measures, with the party’s Home Affairs Spokesman Alistair Carmichael saying: “Vaccine passports are Covid ID cards: unworkable, expensive and divisive.”

 

Labour, which habitually backs the government in votes on lockdown measures, has so far only offered a non-commital, milquetoast criticism of the plans, with Shadow Health Minister Justin Madders condemning “this make-it-up-as-you-go-along government is causing more chaos”.

However, even if Labour, the Liberal Democrats and other members of the Opposition vote against the measures, the Conservative Party still has a commanding 83-seat majority. Current estimates point to there being around 40 Tory backbenchers who will vote against vaccine passports.

 

Other Conservative lawmakers have also been vocal in their opposition to using the NHS Covid Pass as a digital domestic vaccine passport, including former party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith, who suggested it could lead to social controls similar to those in Communist China.

 

“If you look at China, it uses technology to increase the control they have right down to street level. It’s quite staggering. You cannot go anywhere in China, buy anything, see anybody, travel on anything without the Chinese governing knowing exactly where you are, what you did, how much you spent, and who you saw,” Mr Duncan Smith said.

HHS Sends Heavily Redacted Fauci Emails After FOIA Lawsuit

 

The Department of Health and Human Services delivered 311 pages of heavily redacted emails Dr. Anthony Fauci and the World Health Organization and other documents regarding COVID-19 to Judicial Watch and the Daily Caller News Foundation, according to a press release Tuesday.

 

The redacted documents included personal edits from Fauci on COVID-related funding measures, which were redacted under a trade secrets exemption, Judicial Watch said in the press release.

 

“The American people have every right to know key information on our government’s role in Covid,” DCNF President Neil Patel said in the statement Tuesday. “This sort of hiding, dodging and stonewalling is one reason why trust in national authorities is near all-time lows.”

 

FOIA Exemption 4 allows the government from disclosing details relating to trade secrets, commercial or financial information that is “privileged and confidential,” said HHS Freedom of Information Act Officer Gorka Garcia-Malene told Judicial Watch in a letter accompanying the records.

 

HHS is also allowed under FOIA Exemption 5 to withhold internal records that are “predecisional and contain staff advice, opinion, and recommendations,” said Garcia-Malene.

 

“Fauci’s agency is in stonewall mode – and has granted the corrupted WHO a special secrecy exemption from FOIA,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, according to the press release.

 

HHS has repeatedly attempted to delay the record’s release and has argued in favor of releasing the records beginning on November 30, 2020.

 

The DCNF filed a FOIA request in March 2020 asking for communications between Fauci, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Deputy Director Clifford Lane and WHO officials about coronavirus. The DCNF requested all relevant records between January 1, 2020, and April 1, 2020.

 

Judicial Watch filed a federal lawsuit in May 2020 over the release of the records on behalf of DCNF.

California court overturns law that criminalized employees not using “preferred pronouns” of patients

 

SACRAMENTO, CA – In a ruling from the Court of Appeal of the State of California, 3rd Appellate District, the court ruled that an anti-misgendering law that criminalized employees of senior care facilities not using the preferred pronouns or names of patients was found unconstitutional.

 

On July 16th, the California 3rd Appellate District ruled that a portion of California’s HSC § 1439.51 was a violation of the First Amendment, specifically section HSC § 1439.51 (a)(5), which outlawed “a long-term care facility or facility staff” from using a resident’s preferred name or pronouns:

 

“[I]t shall be unlawful for a long-term care facility or facility staff to… Willfully and repeatedly fail to use a resident’s preferred name or pronouns after being clearly informed of the preferred name or pronouns.”

 

The case, brought forth by a group called “Taking Offense” and originally filed by Llewellyn Law Office’ Attorney David Llewellyn, has been going through the courts since 2017 and has faced an uphill battle.

 

When the law came into existence in 2017, it was found to be highly controversial by free speech advocates, since offenders could face jail time and fines in the thousands for misgendering a nursing home resident.

 

But when the 3rd Appellate District heard the arguments, the court determined that the case brought by “Taking Offense” was compelling with regard to the section of HSC § 1439.51 that criminalized speech that could at best be construed as offensive.

 

Numerous cases regarding free speech and freedom of expression were referenced in the decision, such as Miami Herald Pub. Co., Div. of Knight Newspapers, Inc. v. Tornillo, which specifically addressed the fact that someone doesn’t have to say someone’s preferred pronoun or preferred name simply because the bearer of said name/pronoun requested it:

 

“The government is also limited in its ability to compel a speaker to accommodate another speaker’s message.”

 

Citing Brandenburg v. Ohio, the court also found that:

 

“Generally, the free speech clause protects a wide variety of speech a listener may find offensive, including insulting speech based on race, national origin, or religious beliefs.”

 

Other landmark cases such as Cohen v. California were noted in the court’s decision, writing:

 

“Our Supreme Court has observed, “[s]urely the State has no right to cleanse public debate to the point where it is grammatically palatable to the most squeamish among us.’”

 

One of the main issues this law faced when being previously challenged was that the California Attorney General argued that “the pronoun provision is content neutral” within the state law, and that it doesn’t specifically dictate speech as elderly care facility “employees remain free to avoid using the pronouns at issue entirely.”

 

While the courts agreed that the California law didn’t compel a particular set of speech, the court did find that the government was instead forcing employees to voice the preferred speech of another person despite a contradictory set of beliefs or speech they’d prefer using:

Facebook now says medical studies published in peer-reviewed journals are FAKE NEWS if they conclude things that globalists don’t want you to know

 

Mark Zuckerberg has ruled that a peer-reviewed study identifying the health dangers of wearing a face mask will not be allowed on the Facebook platform.

 

The paper in question was published in the highly reputable Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), revealing that masking schoolchildren exposes them to dangerously high intake of carbon dioxide (CO2).

 

According to “Dr.” Zuckerberg, this simply cannot be true information because it goes against what Tony Fauci said at one point before flip-flopping a few times concerning the matter.

 

Facebook has decided that any news outlet or page that shares this “controversial” JAMA study will see its “overall distribution reduced” on the platform, or “be restricted in other ways.”

 

Referring to the study as “false news,” Facebook says the only acceptable form of “science” that can be shared on the platform is the kind that says masks are totally safe and magically effective at fighting the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19).

 

Another study from the University of Florida that identified dangerous pathogens on children’s face masks is also restricted from being shared on Facebook because the Zuck does not approve of its conclusions.

 

Now, when users or pages attempt to share either of the two articles, a warning pops up from Facebook’s “fact checkers” explaining that the peer-reviewed science is a “hoax” because it disagrees with the opinions of Rochelle Walensky at the CDC, Fauci, and other purveyors of propaganda who work in government.

 

Facebook recommends that its users look to some “fact checking” outlet called “Lead Stories” to learn why the JAMA study is a “hoax.” As for the mask-pathogen lab report, Facebook says its users should trust AFP France instead.

Jennifer Cabrera, who wrote an article covering the mask-pathogen lab report, shared a series of screenshots revealing that AFP France did not review it for a full 20 days after it went public.

 

The same day that AFP France conducted its assessment, Facebook declared its findings to be more “valid” than the report itself. Facebook also hilariously misidentified AFP France as “AFP Africa” the first time around, showing that it cannot even get its own facts straight.

 

“AFP’s ‘fact-check’ simply highlights disagreements between the scientist who conducted the test and other scientists who did not conduct the test,” Cabrera tweeted.

 

“Instead of acknowledging that more study would resolve the dispute, AFP calls the report false. That’s not science – that’s propaganda.”

Boston mobster James 'Whitey' Bulger was investigated for loan sharking and beat an FBI informant months before he was recruited by the agency in the 1970s, newly declassified documents reveal

 

Newly released FBI documents show that murdered Boston mobster James 'Whitey' Bulger was being investigated for loan sharking, and had on at least one occasion beat an informant over late payments in the months before he struck a deal with the agency in 1975.

 

The dealings were revealed in a 300-page trove of heavily redacted FBI documents on the notorious mobster recently released on the agency's website through a Freedom of Information Act request.

 

Bulger, who in 2013 was found guilty of 11 murders and sentenced to two consecutive life sentences, was found brutally murdered in his cell with his eyes gouged out in October 2018 at age 89, a day after he was transferred to a federal penitentiary in West Virginia.

 

His family is suing the Federal Bureau of Prison for $200million in his death.

 

The documents revealed the FBI's early investigations into Bulger through wire taps, body recording devices and reports on his dealings as a Boston-area loan shark.

 

The bureau reported that on November, 1974 its mole was 'in fear for his life' after having received threats from various sharks, including Bulger, demanding he make so-called, 'juice payments,' or otherwise suffer consequences.

 

The agency had instructed that he withhold the back payments from five separate 'hoodlum groups' to further draw out the criminals.

 

Despite feeling threatened, the agency instructed its mole to continue withholding the loan payments, and to start wearing a recording device, saying, 'The Boston office feels that this matter should be continued in order to obtain additional incriminating evidence on major organized crime figures.'

 

Another report states that on December 10, 1974, Bulger and another shark being investigated were secretly taped having 'highly incriminating' telephone conversations with the mole.

 

Then, in a reported dated Dec. 19, 1974, the agency says Bulger and other suspects had threatened the mole with 'bodily harm,' and that he 'was on one occasion "slapped around" and told to pay his debts.'

 

The Boston Herald originally filed the FOIA request for the documents in August, 2019.

 

Months later in 1975 Bulger, who at the time and for decades after was in control of South Boston's Winter Hill Gang, was recruited by FBI agent John 'Zip' Connolly.

 

Connolly would later tip Bulger off in 1994 that the FBI was close to indicting him, allowing him to flee.

 

He would remain on the run for 16 years until he was arrested in Santa Monica, California in 2011 along with his girlfriend Catherine Grieg.

National Park Service To Spy On Picnics, Family Gatherings, Weddings And Much More

 

According to a notice published in the Federal Register, the Department of the Interior (DOI) is turning the National Park Service (NPS) into a mirror image of the NSA, FBI, DHS and every other three-letter spy agency you can think of.

 

“Pursuant to the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, the Interior DOI is issuing a public notice of its intent to modify the National Park Service (NPS) Privacy Act system of records, INTERIOR/NPS-1, Special Use Permits.”

 

This so-called modification of special records permits will allow law enforcement to collect a disturbing amount of personal information on national park visitors.

 

As NextGov points out, anyone wishing to get a permit to use one of America’s 423 national parks will have all their personal information sent to the White House.

 

“The NPS is making it easier to share more data with the White House and other federal agencies on applications and approvals of special use permits for parks spaces.”

 

America’s absurd War on Terror is now targeting picnics, family gatherings, weddings, etc.

 

“People interested in using a park for a specific purpose at a specific time generally have to obtain a special use permit. NPS issues permits for three types of uses: standard events like weddings, sports, picnics and family gatherings; special events like demonstrations, races, tournaments and the like; and construction, research and utility work.”

 

When park users apply for such permits, the system collects a wealth of data needed to process the application, including:

 

Name, organization, Social Security number, Tax Identification Number, date of birth, address, telephone number, fax number, email address, person’s position title.

Information of proposed activity including park alpha code, permit number, date, location, number of participants and vehicles, type of use, equipment, support personnel for the activity, company, project name and type, fees, liability insurance information.

Payment information including amounts paid, credit card number, credit card expiration date, check number, money order number, bank or financial institution, account number, payment reference number and tracking ID number.

Information on special activities including number of minors, livestock, aircraft type, special effects, special effect technician’s license and permit number, stunts, unusual or hazardous activities.

Information on driver’s license including number, state and expiration date.

Vehicle information including year, make, color, weight, plate number and insurance information.

 

According to the notice in the Federal Register, the purpose in collecting everyone’s personal information is “to provide park superintendents with information to approve or deny requests for activities on NPS managed park lands.”

 

Does anyone really believe that park rangers or campground hosts need visitors SSNs, DOBs, bank account numbers, etc., so they can approve or deny a person’s request to use our national park[s]?

 

NextGov does a great job of describing the NPS collecting park visitors personal information as being an innocuous “update”; it is not.

 

Page 7 of the notice reveals that the NPS will routinely send everyone’s personal information to numerous federal agencies.

 

“In addition to those disclosures generally permitted under 5 U.S.C. 552a(b) of the Privacy Act, all or a portion of the records or information contained in this system may be disclosed outside DOI as a routine use pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552a(b)(3).”

Israeli Airstrikes Pound Military Posts in Syria’s Aleppo

 

Attacks claimed to target weapons depots

 

A new round of airstrikes from Israel hit military posts in and around the northern Syrian city of Aleppo. Syrian state media claimed to have shot down most of the missiles before they hit, and casualties are still unclear.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed the strikes were targeting weapons depots belonging to Iranian-backed groups, which is almost always the pretext when Israel comments on what they attacked and why.

 

This would be a strange place for such strikes, as it’s not clear Shi’ite militias are terribly active in this part of Syria in the first place. This part of Syria is mostly contested between Syria’s government and Turkish-backed rebels.

 

Militias are not heavily involved in pro-government operations in this area, apart from Kurdish factions that are aligned with the state in resisting Turkish advances.

"Archbishop Promises to Obey the Pope and Leave His New Wife"

ROME - Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo, who shocked the Vatican by marrying a woman chosen by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, has written to Pope John Paul II renouncing his life with his Korean wife and reconciling with the Roman Catholic Church, the Vatican said today.

In a letter issued by the Vatican today, Archbishop Milingo, 71, said he had turned his back on Mr. Moon's Unification Church, satisfying three conditions set by the Vatican for the Zambian prelate to avoid excommunication.

"I now rededicate my life to the Catholic Church with all my heart, I renounce my life together with Maria Sung and my dealings with Rev. Moon and his Family Federation for World Peace," read the letter, which was dated Aug. 11.

Ms. Sung, whom Archbishop Milingo married on May 27 in New York City in a mass wedding organized by Mr. Moon, accused the Vatican of holding the archbishop a prisoner.

"I am convinced he is a prisoner," said Ms. Sung, who had said on Monday that she might be pregnant with the prelate's child.

"I have tried to move the consciences of people who are holding him," she said at a news conference in Rome. "Now I think it is time to go to the police."

Last week, Archbishop Milingo turned up in Rome unexpectedly, It was apparently an attempt to make amends with the Vatican, which had threatened to excommunicate him after his marriage.

He has not been seen in public since last Wednesday.

Ms. Sung, 43, arrived in Rome a few days after Archbishop Milingo met the pope, demanding to see her husband. She has started a fast and has said she will not eat again until she either sees him or dies.

"What the Vatican has said until now has been all lies," Ms. Sung told reporters. "I don't believe it. Someone else is making him say these things."

"Even if he telephones me and tells me he wants to leave me, I still won't believe it because I'm sure he will have been drugged," said Ms. Sung, an acupuncturist from South Korea.

The Rev. Philip Schanker, a spokesman for the Unification Church, who traveled to Rome with Ms. Sung, attacked the Vatican's handling of the situation.

"Tonight I fear only for the archbishop's life because any institution built on such falsehood will crumble no matter what," he told reporters. "This isn't the Middle Ages. If the Vatican wants to do the right thing, they should let Milingo speak for himself."

A Baptist minister in the group backing Ms. Sung added, "The archbishop's silence leads us to believe that his human rights are being violated."

The Vatican has said that Archbishop Milingo is on retreat for a "period of reflection and prayer."

The archbishop said last week he was torn between his wife, the pope and his respect for Mr. Moon.

In July, the Vatican told the archbishop that he would be excommunicated unless he agreed to:

"(a) Leave Maria Sung, (b) sever all links with the sect, Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, (c) declare publicly his fidelity to the doctrine and ecclesiastical discipline of celibacy and to manifest his obedience to the Supreme Pontiff by a clear and unequivocal act."

In the letter issued today, Archbishop Milingo said he had heard the pope's call to come back to the Catholic Church partly as "a paternal order to live out my faithfulness and obedience to you, Christ's representative on earth."

He added in his letter to the pope, "I am your humble and obedient servant."

Mapping Tyranny: The Countries Where Vaccination Is Mandatory

 

During a speech on July 12, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the introduction of compulsory vaccination for healthcare workers in hospitals and a number of other establishments. The new measures have proved controversial and are expected to impact around 700,000 people. The step was taken as part of a new phase of France’s plan to curb the pandemic amid the spread of the highly infectious Delta variant.

 

As Statista’s Niall McCarthy notes, France has thus joined a list of some 15 countries that have decided to impose compulsory vaccination on some level.

 

As our map shows, the obligation is only population-wide in three countries so far – Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Vatican City. Elsewhere, obligatory vaccinations are in place for healthcare workers or certain professions requiring a high level of human contact in a number of countries including the UK, Italy and Greece.

 

In Russia, for example, the vaccination of service sector employees is mandatory in some localities, such as Moscow and St. Petersburg, while in the United States, San Francisco recently announced it would require all 35,000 city employees to get the jab.

True, independent journalism is on his knees in the West, and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), which distributes Frontline materials, has close links to Joe Biden’s administration. The very same Democratic administration, which brands as Western’s enemy anyone, who does not share its policy.

 

Why did the “Democrats” need this? After all, everyone understands that a wolf in sheep’s clothing is still a wolf, and the experience of Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden seemed to have taught the “Deep State“ controlled intelligence services a long time ago that Islamic radicals are extremely unreliable allies. But the urge to control Middle East oil and prevent the region’s return to stability under Russian patronage clearly outweighs any risks, at least in the eyes of the “Deep state“ elite.

 

Donald Trump wanted to withdraw US troops at least from Northern Syria, leaving it in the care of Russians and Turks, but James Jeffrey, US Special Representative for Syria and Iraq, long in the service of the “Deep State,” lied to his president, downplaying the number of troops and giving a distorted picture of what was going on in the region. This eventually cost him his job, but Donald Trump did lose his battle with the system while still in office. Trump’s pragmatic approach dictated by a desire to cut costs on unnecessary wars, was simply sabotaged. So, Donald Trump quite logically decided against providing weapons and ammunition to numerous groups fighting in Syria. He even scaled-down the CIA’s supply program. However, State Department officials, not directly subordinated to the then occupant of the White House, quickly found a way to help their unreliable allies. As a result, al-Qaeda-linked jihadist groups, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham included, received via the Pentagon even such sophisticated weapons as TOW anti-tank grenade launchers, which require special training by their users. And the leader of the most powerful country around could do nothing to rein in members of his own entourage, who badly needed an ongoing war in the Middle East.

MOSCOW, July 20. /TASS/. The US government has approved a deal to purchase Russian-made RD-181M space rocket engines produced by the Energomash Research and Production Association, Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos Spokesman Vladimir Ustimenko announced on Tuesday.

 

"News emerged yesterday that Roscosmos had received the green light to export new RD-181M engines to the United States. The US government has approved the conclusion of a contract between Energomash (part of Roscosmos) and the US-based Orbital Sciences LLC. This paves the way for new engine deliveries and new liftoffs of American rockets with Russian ‘hearts,’" Ustimenko wrote in its Telegram channel.

 

The contract to purchase the Russian engines both confirms the outstanding work of the designers and engineers that create top-quality items and offers hope for the relations to normalize where "business and efficiency will play a more important role than situational decisions that have nothing to do with cosmonautics," the Roscosmos press secretary emphasized.

 

"So far, we can only wish Energomash success as it creates such unique ‘pieces of engine art," Ustimenko wrote.

 

The Russian government earlier backed the talks on a contract for the delivery of Russian-made RD-181M rocket engines produced by Energomash (within Roscosmos) to the US-based Orbital Sciences LLC. The relevant resolution signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was posted on the government’s legal information web portal.

 

As the document reads, the contract can be signed if the issues related the use of the results of intellectual activity obtained in the process of developing the engine are settled with Russia’s Defense Ministry and Roscosmos. The US company should also take measures to ensure the protection of Russian technologies and guarantee that American Antares carrier rockets with Russian engines are not used for the launch of military space vehicles, the document says.

Prominent Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California appears to have spent tens of thousands of campaign dollars on booze and limousine services, as well as over $20,000 at the luxury hotel where his wife works.

 

The tens of thousands of campaign dollars include limo services, luxury hotels, high-end restaurants and alcohol delivery services over the course of the second quarter, according to FEC records reviewed by Fox News.

 

The California congressman appears to have been driven in style with his FEC records showing him spending over $10,000 on 26 rides from various limousine and luxury car services. Swalwell also spent over $26,000 on luxury hotels.

 

More than $20,000 of the campaign funds that were spent at luxury hotels went to the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay, where his wife has been the director of sales since February 2015, according to her LinkedIn profile.

 

The California congressman dropped $566 on "Food & Beverage" through the alcohol delivery service Drizly in nine separate orders ranging from $5.79 to $124.86. Additionally, Swalwell spent $1,151 on "Refreshments" from seven trips to Capitol Hill Wine and Spirits, a liquor store local to the House side of the U.S. Capitol, and almost $4,400 at two California wineries on the same day for "Catering" and "Refreshments."

While the payments to the wineries could have come from a campaign event, it is not clear that the seven charges at the Capitol Hill liquor store and nine Drizly charges were campaign related.

 

The FEC records reveal the California Democrat spent over $7,000 at luxury restaurants and steakhouses in D.C. In addition, Swalwell appears to have sat down for 13 in-person meals at Charlie Palmer Steak, O-Ku Sushi, STK Steakhouse at the Downtown New York City location and other high-end eateries.

 

Six expenditures listed as "Catering" on the FEC website showed Swalwell spent thousands of dollars on food at luxury restaurants, but those expenditures could also come from campaign events held in the capital.

Responding to an in-depth investigation that revealed that Israel’s NSO Group has been selling spyware used by foreign governments to target journalists and activists, Defense Minister Benny Gantz asserted Tuesday that Israel operates fully within international law.

 

“We are aware of recent publications regarding the use of systems developed in certain Israeli cyber companies,” said Gantz in a speech to Cyber Week at Tel Aviv University, without mentioning NSO Group by name. “Israel, as a liberal Western democracy, controls exports of cyber products in accordance with its defense export control law, complying with international export control regimes.”

 

Gantz added that, “as a matter of policy, the State of Israel authorizes the export of cyber products solely to governments, only for lawful use, and exclusively for the purposes of preventing and investigating crime and terrorism. The countries acquiring these systems must abide by their commitments to these requirements. We are currently studying the information that is published on the subject.”

 

On Sunday, an in-depth investigation led by 17 major international news organizations claimed that NSO Group has sold cellphone malware used to target journalists, activists and politicians in dozens of countries.

 

The reporting focused on Pegasus, a spyware tool sold by NSO that the investigation said is being used by dozens of governmental clients. The analysis carried out on a leaked list of 50,000 phone numbers found that the list included people targeted by the governments of Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, India, and the United Arab Emirates.

Kentucky senator stepped close to the line of accusing Fauci of lying to Congress in previous testimony

 

Top government epidemiologist Dr. Anthony Fauci and Sen. Rand Paul traded accusations of "lying" about gain-of-function research at a Tuesday Senate hearing, continuing the long-running feud between the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director and the Kentucky senator.

 

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky was also asked about continued health measures like mask mandates on public transportation and vaccine mandates for school children.

 

In his questioning of Fauci, Paul stepped close to the line of accusing Fauci of lying to Congress in previous testimony in which he said that the NIAID had never funded gain-of-function research in China. Citing a paper on research about bat coronaviruses, Paul said that U.S. money had essentially gone to the hazardous and controversial research – an assertion Fauci strongly objected to.

 

"I have never lied before the Congress, and I do not retract that statement," Fauci said. He added that the research Paul referenced was "judged by qualified staff up and down the chain as not being gain of function."

 

Fauci added: "You do not know what you are talking about quite frankly and I want to say that officially."

 

Paul's response was that the NIH's judgment "defines… away" work that essentially was gain-of-function."

 

"You're dancing around this because you're trying to obscure responsibility," Paul added

 

Walensky and Fauci – who is President Biden's top medical adviser – are appearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP) Committee. They each emphasized the imporance of vaccines for stopping the delta variant in their opening remarks.

 

"The message from CDC remains clear… vaccination is the most powerful tool we have," Walensky said.

 

"The sobering news that you've already heard of is the fact that we are not challenged with a very difficult and problematic variant referred to as the Delta variant," Fauci said. "The fact is that, however… is that our vaccines… are very effective against this variant."

 

Fauci, meanwhile, also objected to any suggestion – which Paul denied he was trying to imply – that he or the NIH may be in some way responsible for the COVID-19 virus, saying that the viruses created by the research in question would be "molecularly impossible" to be the origin of the disease.

 

"You are implying that what we did was responsible for the deaths of individual[s], I totally resent that and if anybody is lying here, senator, it is you," Fauci said.

 

The hearing is meant to take a look at "The Path Forward" out of the pandemic. But worry over the Delta variant has led some in the U.S. to call for the return of strict health measures from the pandemic's height. And that talk has led opponents of such measures to push back hard against moves they say would be counter-productive.

 

Los Angeles County on Friday ordered citizens to wear masks indoors, regardless of whether they were vaccinated, becoming the first major U.S. jurisdiction to backpedal on relaxing virus rules.

Israel Defense Forces Shell Lebanon Following Alleged Rocket Attack

 

On July 20th, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) artillery struck Lebanon in response to 2 rockets fired towards Israeli territory.

 

There were no reports of injuries or damage, and the army said there were currently no special instructions for residents of the region.

 

Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that Lebanon was responsible for the overnight rocket attack since it “allows terrorists to operate within its territory.”

 

“Israel will act against any threat to its sovereignty and its citizens, and will respond in accordance to its interests — at the relevant time and place,” Gantz said, adding that Israel “will not allow the social, political and economic crisis in Lebanon to turn into a security threat to Israel.”

 

Gantz also called upon the international community to act to restore stability to Lebanon, amid what the World Bank says is one of the world’s worst financial crises since the 1850s.

 

The attack came some four hours after Syrian state media said Israeli aircraft launched a number of missiles at targets near the Syrian city of Aleppo and following clashes on the Temple Mount between Israel Police and Muslim protesters on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

 

The Israeli military believes the rockets were fired by a Palestinian group in southern Lebanon, not by Hezbollah.

 

In response, the army said it had fired artillery shells at the source of the rocket fire, in Lebanon’s Wadi Hamoul region. This was also the area from which rockets were fired at Israel in May.

 

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the alleged Israeli strikes targeted weapons depots that belong to Iranian-backed militia operating in Aleppo’s Safira region. The group said the strikes were followed by loud explosions. The weapons depots were located inside Syrian military posts, the group said.

 

The reported attack took place on the eve of Eid Al-Adha, one of Islam’s holiest holidays.

 

Israel has launched hundreds of strikes against Iran-linked military targets in Syria over the years but rarely acknowledges or discusses such operations. Last month, Israel reportedly carried out an attack on targets in central Syria.

 

Israel fears Iranian entrenchment on its northern frontier, and it has repeatedly struck Iran-linked facilities and weapons convoys destined for Hezbollah.

Rep. Waters says ‘we must not allow Trump to win’

 

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) appeared on CNN Sunday to give her comment on former President Trump’s speech during CPAC. In response to Trump joking that after two impeachments he didn’t “change” but “got worse,” Waters said “we must not allow Trump to win.”

 

The Jan. 6th story is being retold in the book “I Alone Can Fix It” by Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker. In the book, they report that top generals anticipated that Trump would start a coup after losing the election. The book is not released yet. But Waters says that this final analysis should lead to Trump’s indictment.

 

“One way or the other, we’ve got to stop Trump and his allies,” the California lawmaker said. “It’s more than undermining our democracy. They’re dangerous and they’re out to do harm.”

 

As a result, Waters would like to see Trump barred from winning another election. “And so, we’re in a bad time in this country, trying to manage all of this,” she said. “But we must manage it. We must protect our democracy. We must not allow Trump to win.”

We’re just talking about how Progressives are really happy about all of the things in the “infrastructure” bill [scare quotes added by Insanity Wrap]. They are really being led in many ways by the Progressive wing of their [Democrat] party. And the Progressive wing of the Democratic party does not want to go hard against Cuba, against some of the things the Castro regime may have been a part of. In part, because there are some Democrats, some Progressives, who agree with some of those things. They agree with universal health care, they agree with some of the programs that were in place in a more socialist kind of society.

 

To Insanity Wrap, living in a one-party state that squashes dissent, tortures political prisoners, maintains a stranglehold on virtually all economic activity, can’t keep its own people fed, cuts off communication with the outside world at will, and only achieved a halfway decent standard of living (on the S***hole Country Scale) when it was suckling the Soviet teat, is a high price to pay for “free” health care.

The fact that Cuba is a miserable totalitarian state where life is good for the nomenklatura and borderline starvation for everyone else is not a secret to anyone, not even to Progressives.

It’s a classic bait-and-switch.

 

The Left baits with free stuff, but delivers misery.

 

We’re lucky — so far — that the “best” Presidentish Joe Biden has been able to deliver is inflation, unsustainable spending and debt, and the political repression of a few hundred January 6 rioters, most of whom don’t seem to have done much or any actual rioting.

 

But they’re working on establishing a “kinder, gentler” form of repression, as the current big push for effective Democratic political control of social media proves.

 

So when “some” Progressives (find me one who doesn’t agree with Cuba) say they admire Cuba’s health care system, what they’re really saying is they admire the Communist regime’s total control over the once-prosperous island nation they socialized into destitution.

Who’s getting paid – or paid off – by Big Tech? A new online tool reveals in real-time who’s getting paid Zuck bucks, Bezos billions, Google greenbacks, or reaching into @Jack’s deep pockets as you’re reading their posts on social media or in the news.

 

And Big Tech is spreading that money around. Slathering, really. Lots of cream cheese on that bagel.

 

As The Federalist points out, last year Facebook and Amazon spent more money on formal lobbying than did the nation’s largest defense contractors, who are kept in yachts and private jets thanks to lobbying their buddies at the Pentagon.

 

The online tool is called “Big Tech Funding” and is made by a group called American Principles. It uses an extension for Google Chrome (heh), aggregates funding information that is available to the public but buried deeply on websites, and spits out “who’s getting what from whom” instantaneously.

 

It puts out the information so that when you check on a group on Twitter, for example, the left-wing Center for American Progress, started by Clinton crony John Podesta, you find that Facebook really likes this group.

 

Big-Tech companies can divvy up their largesse and give it to any person or any group it wishes, but considering these large companies have spent the better part of the past five years censoring, deplatforming, and canceling conservatives, it’s handy to know who’s on your side. It’s like an insta-dox. You click on an account and instantly know to consider the source of information they’re peddling.

 

The head of American Principles, John Schweppe, says the issue is more important than source-checking. He believes that colleges, universities, professors, and think tanks launder the money and the ideas of the tech moguls, giving their viewpoints the veneer of legitimacy, as he told Fox News.

 

He’s looking at traditionally right-of-center and conservative groups as well. For example, the Libertarian Cato Institute doesn’t escape scrutiny.

 

Disclosure: The Cato Institute is funded by Facebook and Google. 3% of their revenue is from corporations.

 

The Heritage Foundation rated a “disclosure” statement saying that Heritage doesn’t take Big-Tech money.

Many Big-City Democrat Mayors Defunded Police While Spending Heavily on Their Security Details, Watchdog Finds

 

Democratic mayors in 20 of the nation’s 25 biggest cities slashed police department budgets and positions even as they spent millions of tax dollars on their own security details, according to data obtained by a government watchdog.

 

“In 25 major U.S. cities, officials have proposed cutting—or in 20 cases already cut—police budgets. However, what OpentheBooks.com auditors found was that mayors and city officials still enjoy personal protection of a dedicated police detail costing taxpayers millions of dollars,” Adam Andrzejewski, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Open The Books (OTB), said in a statement announcing the new data.

 

“This is ‘police protection for me (the political elites), but not for thee (the citizens),’” Andrzejewski said.

 

The Chicago-based group is a non-profit that uses public-right-to-know and freedom of information laws to maintains hundreds of publicly available databases of federal, state, and local spending with the goal of providing “every dime online in real time.”

 

In San Francisco, for example, the costs of the security detail protecting Mayor London Breed and other city officials spiraled from $1.7 million in 2015 to $2.6 million in 2020.

 

Breed has proposed shifting $120 million from the city’s police department to mental health and workforce training programs. City officials declined to say how many officers are assigned to the security details, according to OTB.

 

In Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot claimed to be opposed to defunding the police, but OTB found officials quietly abolished 400 police department positions last year.

 

Those positions were eliminated even as the city’s “security detail costs peaked in 2020 – up $700,000 over five years: $2.7 million spent on 16 officers (2015); $2.9 million for 16 officers (2016); $2.7 million for 20 officers (2017); $2.8 million for 16 officers (2018); $2.8 million for 17 officers (2019); and $3.4 million for 22 officers (2020).

PA Teacher’s Aide Charged with Repeated Sex Assault of Student, 14

 

FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Jennilynne M. Derolf, 38, was charged with felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault and institutional sexual assault and misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors.

 

She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jan Vislosky and was sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility under $900,000, 10 percent. The investigation began on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, when the Falls Township Police Department received a report of sexual assault.

 

Police spoke to the complainant who said she discovered that her 14-year-old grandson was “having a sexual relationship with his teacher’s aide” at Valley Day School in Falls Township, officials said.

 

The victim was interviewed by Falls Township detectives, and he explained that his relationship with his teacher’s aide began with them messaging each other discreetly on a cellphone messaging app and then meeting at Falls Township Park. In early June 2021, their meetings became romantic, he told Falls Township detectives. He said he and Derolf had sexual intercourse three times in July, twice in the area of the Levittown Lake in Tullytown Borough and once near a baseball field in Bristol Township.

 

“The defendant’s conduct is not only reprehensible, but criminal,” District Attorney Matt Weintraub said. “She not only violated the trust required in any student teacher relationship, but also that trust that children should be able to have in all adults of authority. She will be held accountable for her criminal acts.”

 

The case was investigated by Falls Township Detectives Stephen Reeves and John Vella and has been assigned for prosecution to Deputy District Attorney Matthew Lannetti.

Weaponizing “Humanitarian Aid” to Syria: Deceitful Cover for U.S. Support of Al Qaeda and Excuse to Violate Syrian Sovereignty and UN Charter

 

On Friday July 9 the UN Security Council unanimously agreed to a conditional one-year extension of the Turkey/Syria border crossing at Bab al Hawa. As part of the agreement, the UN Secretary General needs to report regularly on what is happening with the aid going into the Al Qaeda dominated zone. Evidently Russia and China thought the time was not right to insist on principle.

 

A few weeks ago a friend had sent me a link to a Foreign Policy magazine news story about the Bab al-Hawa crossing, and asked, “Is this accurate?” What could be wrong with humanitarian aid?

 

There have been many such stories, both short and long. The essence of them all in Western media is that Bab al-Hawa must be kept open for humanitarian reasons. Many of the articles castigate Russia or any other country, such as China, that were contemplating blocking a renewal of the UN authorization of the border crossing.

 

There are important facts which Western media stories typically leave out or distort. Here are some reasons why the Bab al-Hawa border crossing should NOT have been renewed:

 

  • First and foremost, the aid is supporting Syria’s version of Al Qaeda, Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS). They control the region on the Syrian side of the crossing. They are the foreigners and hard-core extremists who invaded Idlib from Turkey in 2015 plus those who left Aleppo and other cities when the militants were defeated by the Syrian army. Even if the United Nations inspects all the trucks going into Idlib province in northern Syria, the truck deliveries are ultimately controlled by HTS (formerly called Jabhat al-Nusra).*

 

The aid is effectively supporting the partition of Syria. Idlib province, and the militants which govern there, seek to separate permanently from Syria. They are attempting to Turkify the region through sectarian education, promoting the Turkish language and even using Turkish currency.

 

  • The aid violates the United Nations Charter which requires that all member countries refrain from threatening the territorial integrity of another member state. Turkey and the United States are the major violators, since they have military troops illegally occupying Syrian lands. But it is a shame for the United Nations to be complicit through the authorization of aid to the breakaway Al Qaeda-dominated region.

 

  • The aid to northwest Syria is prolonging the conflict instead of helping to end it. It is evident that, after failing to militarily overthrow the Syrian government, Western powers are now using other means to attack Damascus. They continue to interfere in Syria’s domestic affairs. Led by the U.S., they have economically attacked Syria while pouring support into the breakaway northwest region.

 

  • Western aid to the Al Qaeda-dominated region distracts from the pain, damage, and destruction which U.S. and European sanctions have wreaked on most Syrians. The Caesar sanctions, imposed by the U.S. amid the Covid-19 pandemic, have had a horrendous impact. By outlawing the Syrian Central Bank and making it nearly impossible to trade with Syria, U.S. sanctions have undermined the Syrian currency. Many goods have increased in price by four and five and even ten times. Like a modern-day gangster, the U.S. has been openly stealing the oil and wheat from eastern Syria. The U.S. has attacked the electrical grid by prohibiting parts, engineering, or construction to repair or rebuild power plants. “Caesar” sanctions prohibit support for anything government-related, including schools and hospitals.

 

According to a December 2020 United Nations General Assembly resolution, Unilateral Coercive Measures such as the “Caesar” law are illegal and a violation of the UN Charter, international law, and international human rights law.

 

Yet because of U.S. global economic dominance, it is still in force and the U.S. claims the right to prohibit any country, company, or individual from supporting or trading with Syria. This is what makes U.S. claims of humanitarian concern so ironic and cynical.

80-Year-Old Man Found Dead in New York With ‘I Touch Little Girls’ Scrawled on His Chest

 

An 80-year-old man was found dead in his Staten Island apartment with the words “I touch little girls” scrawled across his chest.

 

The man, whose name is being withheld by police until his family is notified, was found face up with two black eyes and cuts on his forehead.

 

The New York Post reports that the elderly man was found just after 9:30 a.m. Monday inside the first-floor hallway of 256 Corson Ave., according to police.

 

The words “I touch little girls” were written on him with black ink. Additionally, cops also found the words “I take dolls in my room for girls age 1-5” on his stomach and “I touch” on his right foot, according to the Post.

 

The man had a lengthy record of 24 arrests, but none that indicate pedophilia, the report says. However, only two of the arrests were unsealed, which were two assaults against a girlfriend in 1987, a third assault in 1992 and drug possession rap in 1996.

 

He was not a registered sex offender.

 

The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death.

Norwegian handball team fined $1,700 for wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms

 

The Norwegian women's handball team is facing a steep fine for breaking the dress code and making a statement at the European Beach Handball Championships.

 

The team showed up for their bronze medal match against Spain wearing shorts, which is against the rules set by the International Handball Federation. Bikini bottoms are required for beach handball.

 

The European Handball Federation announced the 1,500 euro (approximately $1,767) fine on Monday. Via USA Today, the EHF said that the shorts were "not according to the athlete uniform regulations defined in the IHF beach handball rules of the game." The 10 members of the team were fined 150 euros each.

J&J Eyes Bankruptcy Maneuver in Bid to Skirt Liability in Baby Powder Lawsuits

 

Johnson & Johnson is reportedly considering using what legal experts call the “Texas two-step” bankruptcy law, a maneuver that would allow the company to create a new entity housing talc liabilities that would then file for bankruptcy to halt litigation.

 

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) is exploring a plan to offload liabilities from widespread baby powder litigation by creating a new business that would then seek bankruptcy protection, Reuters reported.

 

During settlement discussions over its talc-containing baby powder, a J&J legal representative told plaintiffs’ lawyers the company could pursue placing a subsidiary in bankruptcy as part of a strategy to settle thousands of claims linking the product to ovarian cancer.

 

If executed, the plan could result in lower payouts for cases that do not settle beforehand, according to people familiar with the matter.

 

According to the Wall Street Journal, bankruptcy can be a powerful tool for companies facing a large number of lawsuits over allegedly defective products, or other mass-tort claims. A chapter 11 filing can pressure claimants into accepting lower settlements by halting ongoing litigation and discovery proceedings, and by creating a centralized forum to value claims.

 

Plaintiffs’ lawyers would initially be unable to stop J&J from taking such a step, though they could pursue legal avenues to challenge it later.

 

A company spokesperson said Sunday that “Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. has not decided on any particular course of action in this litigation other than to continue to defend the safety of talc and litigate these cases in the tort system, as the pending trials demonstrate.”

 

J&J is considering using Texas’ “divisive merger” law, which would allow the company to split into at least two entities — creating a new entity housing talc liabilities that would then file for bankruptcy to halt litigation, according to Reuters.

 

Should J&J proceed, plaintiffs who have not settled could find themselves in protracted bankruptcy proceedings with a much smaller company. Future payouts would be dependent on how J&J funds the entity housing its talc liabilities.

 

The maneuver is known among legal experts as a Texas two-step bankruptcy, a strategy used in recent years by companies facing asbestos litigation.

 

According to Onder Law, LLC, “A Texas two-step bankruptcy is a move that’s in line with the unscrupulous tactics Johnson & Johnson has exercised for decades. If they are successful — and we don’t believe they will be — the company hopes to discharge their liability from talc lawsuits throughout the country.”

 

A 2018 Reuters investigation found J&J knew for decades that asbestos, a known carcinogen, lurked in its baby powder and other cosmetic talc products.

 

J&J stopped selling talc powder products in the U.S. and Canada last year. But as of April 2021, there were roughly 28,900 lawsuits pending in U.S. courts against the company and its J&J Consumer Inc. subsidiary, alleging talc-containing powders caused ovarian cancer and other injuries.

 

J&J said in its most recent quarterly report in April that the number of talc cases continues to grow.

World Leaders on Pegasus List Include France’s President Macron, Morocco’s King Mohammed, Kazakhstan’s President Tokayev

 

 

While they were in office, 14 world leaders from Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East appear to have been selected for targeting with NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware. Analysis suggests that, in several cases, the users of the hacking tool were their own governments.

Key Findings

 

While in office, three current presidents, including France’s Emmanuel Macron, as well as three sitting prime ministers, had their numbers selected for potential attack by Pegasus, spyware made by Israeli company NSO Group.

Numbers for seven former prime ministers and the King of Morocco were also selected.

Some of the most senior political figures in Kazakhstan and Morocco, as well as people close to the president of Mexico, appear to have been selected for targeting by their own countries.

Others, including Macron and seven prime ministers, appear to have been selected for targeting by foreign countries. Macron’s number was selected during a political crisis in Algeria, and evidence suggests that Algeria’s neighbor Morocco was behind the selection.

Kazakhstan’s president was selected while he was still the regime’s number two.

 

Data from an investigation into Israeli spyware company NSO Group’s Pegasus technology shows that over a dozen current, former, and future world leaders were selected as potential targets of the spyware.

 

As well as run-of-the-mill ministers, diplomats, and civil servants, a list of numbers obtained by the Pegasus Project reveals that prime ministers, presidents, and even King Mohammed VI of Morocco were selected for targeting.

 

Typically, these high-profile figures appear to have been selected by countries that are rivals or curious neighbors. That is the case with French President Emmanuel Macron, Iraqi President Barham Salih, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

But Kazakhstan’s current president and prime minister, a circle of people close to the current president of Mexico, and both the king and prime minister of Morocco appear to have been selected by their own countries.

 

In a statement to Pegasus Project journalists, NSO Group said the phone records are “not a list of targets or potential targets of NSO’s customers.” The company said that Emmanuel Macron and King Mohammed VI “are not, and never have been, targets or selected as targets of NSO Group customers.”

 

The Pegasus Project is an international collaboration of more than 80 journalists from 17 media organizations, including OCCRP, that was coordinated by French journalism non-profit Forbidden Stories. Numbers for heads of states were identified and verified by reporters from a leaked list of over 50,000 phone numbers in around 50 countries. The list is believed to represent numbers that have been selected for targeting by NSO Group’s clients.

Bukit Aman: 829 human trafficking victims rescued from January 2020 to May 2021

 

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): A total of 829 individuals, believed to be victims of human trafficking were rescued by the police and given Interim Protection Orders (IPO) following 190 raids conducted nationwide from January 2020 to May 2021.

 

Federal CID director Comm Datuk Seri Abd Jalil Hassan (pic) said of the total, 74 individuals were given Protection Orders (PO) in 2020, while 65 people others obtained it in the first five months of 2021.

 

"A total of 599 people were rescued as a result of 146 raids in 2020, with 230 others rescued in 44 raids conducted from January to May 2021.

 

"Some 243 people were arrested on suspicion of being involved in human trafficking cases last year, while another 110 were detained this year,” he told Bernama.

 

Comm Abd Jalil said the police were serious in their efforts to combat human trafficking, which has become a global issue.

 

"Among the efforts were working with non-governmental organisations to disseminate information and create public awareness on human trafficking and smuggling of migrants.

 

"In addition, various programmes including courses, in-service training, seminars and workshops are conducted on a yearly basis internally or through collaboration with other agencies or organisations,” he said.

 

Comm Abd Jalil said the programmes were aimed at enhancing knowledge, skills and expertise among personnel, especially enforcement agency officers involved in combating the crime.

 

He said continuous efforts are also being made by the police to address the problem of human trafficking, especially forced labour.

 

"According to statistics, a total of 62 raids in connection with labour exploitation were conducted in 2020 and 25 raids have been carried out up to May this year,” he said, adding that most of the victims were nationals from Indonesia, the Philippines and India. - Bernama

The 1989 act is being updated to take into account the impact of the internet age, especially in the area of speedy data transfer.

 

Human rights organisations and the Law Commission, which drew up the proposals, say there should be a 'public interest defence' included to prevent the prosecution of journalists who receive leaked documents.

 

But in a paper released for the consultation, the Home Office said such a move would 'undermine our efforts to prevent damaging unauthorised disclosures, which would not be in the public interest'.

 

Critics suggested that if the rules were in place now it could have led to a prosecution of the journalists who revealed this month that Matt Hancock was breaking Covid rules by having an affair with his married aide, because it relied on leaked CCTV footage.

 

The revelation prompted his resignation and the end of his marriage. But last week the Information Commissioner's Office faced criticism for searching two homes as part of an investigation into how the material emerged and found its way onto the Sun's front page.

Barrack, who was charged in a seven-count indictment in New York federal court, was chairman of Trump’s 2017 inaugural fund.

 

Barrack, 74, is a longtime friend of Trump’s, and the founder of the large private equity firm Colony Capital.

 

The indictment accuses the Santa Monica, California, resident Barrack and several other defendants of unlawful efforts to advance the interests of the UAE at the direction of senior officials of that nation, “by influencing the foreign policy positions of the campaign of a candidate in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and, subsequently, the foreign policy positions of the U.S. government in the incoming administration,” the Justice Department said.

 

Charged with Barrack for acting and conspiring to act as agents for the UAW from April 2016 throough April 2018 were Matthew Grimes, 27, of Aspen, Colorado, Rashid Sultan Rashid Al Malik Alshahhi and Rashid Al‑Malik, a UAE national.

 

Barrack is also charged with obstruction of justice and making multiple false statements during a June 2019 interview with federal law enforcement agents.

 

“The defendants repeatedly capitalized on Barrack’s friendships and access to a candidate who was eventually elected President, high-ranking campaign and government officials, and the American media to advance the policy goals of a foreign government without disclosing their true allegiances,” said acting Assistant Attorney General Mark Lesko of the Justice Department’s National Security Division.

 

“The conduct alleged in the indictment is nothing short of a betrayal of those officials in the United States, including the former President,” Lesko said in a statement.

 

Barrack stepped down at Colony Capital’s CEO in 2020. In April, he resigned as executive chairman of the firm.

 

A spokeswoman for Trump did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on the arrest.

Texas Democrat ‘Fleebaggers’ Will No Longer Release Daily Coronavirus Case Count as Number Rises

 

Democrats will no longer release a daily count of the number of coronavirus cases among the Democrat Texas state lawmakers who last week shirked their legislative duties and fled to Washington, DC, to avoid acting on voting laws, a spokeswoman for the Texas House Democrats said Monday.

 

The delegation will no longer offer daily transparency in regard to the number of Texas House Democrats who have tested positive for the Chinese coronavirus, according to Texas House Democrats spokeswoman Cara Santucci.

 

“We’re focusing on our daily testing, following and going beyond CDC guidelines, social distancing, and wearing masks as much as possible,” she said in a statement. “We’re just not going to release daily counts.”

 

On Saturday, the Texas House Democratic Caucus leadership affirmed that three members who went on the trip to D.C., shirking their legislative duties, tested positive for the Chinese coronavirus, despite being fully vaccinated.

 

“The House Democratic Caucus is following all CDC guidance and protocols,” House Democratic Caucus Chairman Chris Turner said in a statement Saturday.

 

“This is a sober reminder that COVID is still with us, and though vaccinations offer tremendous protection, we still must take necessary precautions,” he continued.

 

“We are in touch with public health experts in Texas to provide additional guidance. Our caucus will follow all recommendations from public health experts as we continue our work,” he added.

 

That number increased to six as of Monday.

North Carolina County Starts Offering Door-To-Door COVID-19 Vaccinations

 

A county in North Carolina has launched a campaign to bring COVID-19 vaccinations to people at their homes.

 

Mecklenburg County dubbed the effort “doses to doors.”

 

The county’s health department “is offering COVID-19 vaccinations on demand in neighborhoods across Mecklenburg County,” county officials said on their website, calling on residents to “be on the lookout for our mobile vaccination unit.”

 

The unit is providing vaccinations on demand. People can get a shot of Pfizer’s vaccine if aged 12 or older or a Johnson & Johnson jab if 18 or older, according to a flyer about the campaign.

 

“As we go and have those individual conversations that we know are so important and encounter someone who is ready to get the vaccine or has their concerns identified and says ‘OK let’s do it now’, that vaccine will be available at that time,” Mecklenburg County Medical Director Dr. Meg Sullian told WBTV.

 

While volunteers with nonprofits have been going door-to-door to spread information about the COVID-19 vaccines since May, the door-to-door vaccination effort is new, WBTV reported. The unit, which was following volunteers with Action NC, started at the South Side Homes, an apartment complex in Charlotte.

 

Richard Dawkins, a volunteer, said volunteers “are not confrontational” and that their job is to “dispel rumors and things.”

 

Most people told door knockers that they had either gotten a vaccine or did not want to; four people decided to get a jab.

Hungarian Spox Fires Back at Far-Left Media Hitmen: Spying is Only OK When the Left Does It

 

17 Soros-linked media outlets worldwide are pushing an unconfirmed story that patriotic governments in Hungary, India and elsewhere used Israeli spy software to spy on journalists, as Gateway Pundit reported. The Israeli firm NSO Group that makes the Pegasus spy software called the report “full of wrong assumptions and uncorroborated theories that raise serious doubts about the reliability and interests of the sources.”

 

Writing on About Hungary, Hungarian government spokesman Zolán Kovács contrasted the media’s response to the Pegasus story with their response to Tucker Carlson’s charges that the NSA is spying on him:

 

On Sunday evening, a group of left-wing, news outlets led by The Guardian broke the story that according to a “leaked” database of phone numbers, they could “prove” that certain governments, including Hungary, have employed software called “Pegasus,” developed by Israeli surveillance firm NSO Group, and, according to the reporters, have used it to “spy on” critical journalists and political opponents.

 

The first problem with the “scandal,” and this is according to Interior Minister Sándor Pintér, is that since PM Orbán’s government took power from the Socialists in 2010, there has been no illegal surveillance in Hungary. And the results of supervision protocols support this fact. The minister added that Hungary is a democratic state where the rule of law prevails, therefore it acts according to the regulations in effect when deciding about actions in individual cases. Period.

 

Meanwhile, in an interview with leftist Hungarian daily Népszava yesterday, Minister of Justice Judit Varga pointed to the obvious fact that states must have the necessary tools to combat the many threats that they face today. And this includes preserving the ability to protect a country against the questionable endeavors of foreign secret services and their agents or actions that aim to undermine constitutional order. Those who claim otherwise are simply naive.

 

Then there’s the not-so-small problem that all of this comes down to unsubstantiated claims. We read references to “leaked” lists and so forth, but there appears to be nothing more than uncorroborated claims.

 

A few weeks ago, a prominent American TV news personality, Tucker Carlson, citing an anonymous source, claimed that the U.S. National Security Agency was monitoring his electronic communications. The media immediately demanded that Carlson produce more than an anonymous source to back his claim.

 

Wouldn’t it be great if the media in this case demanded a similar level of proof as well, or even simply asked a few tough questions about this “leaked” data? But the bombshell charges are against Hungary and the government of Prime Minister Orbán, so the media just gobbles it up without question and runs with the herd.

The Biden administration’s gross collusion with Big Tech to censor opposing viewpoints is not only blatant tyranny but also obvious hypocrisy.

 

Facebook is killing people, misinformation is rampant, and the only people who can save us from ourselves are the all-wise executives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue whose judgment is infallible and whose motives are pure. That’s the message emanating from the White House and the corporate press.

 

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced last week that, due to 12 unnamed people on social media posting what the Biden administration considers to be misinformation, the White House is actively “flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation” and “helping” to “boost trusted content.” Going even further, Psaki said nothing is “off the table” for using Big Tech to quiet opposing views.

 

Not only is the Biden administration effectively deputizing Facebook to be an extension of the federal government’s communications office, but it also insists that if you’re banned from one Big Tech site for questioning conventional wisdom, you should be banned from all of them.

 

Psaki maintains the government has “a responsibility, as a public health matter, to raise that issue” of people allegedly dying en masse because of uncensored Facebook posts that don’t comport with the White House’s vaccine messaging. This isn’t a caricature of the White House’s position either. When a reporter asked President Joe Biden directly last week what his message is to sites like Facebook, Biden replied, serious as a heart attack, “They’re killing people.”

 

This push for censorship is interesting for several reasons, not the least of which is the fact that the same political stripe that ridiculously cried “fascism” for four years under Donald Trump is now taking concrete steps to suppress political opposition, one of the hallmarks of true fascism. It’s also interesting because information changes so rapidly, as Psaki herself admitted.

 

“Science evolves, information evolves,” Psaki said during the same press conference in which she pledged her commitment to silencing vaccine dissidents online. If anyone should understand the reality of information evolving, it’s the Biden administration.

Yeah about this: my wife is an oncology nurse with decades of experience all at the same Catholic hospital. (we are not catholic BTW) anyway the hospital is in the middle of being sold to a secular corporation that runs several such facilities. When it was announced that the facility was being sold there was an exodus of a percentage of nurses and they've been really scrambling to replace those who left.

Recently they announced that all employees of the hospital would have to get the covid stab or be fired, no exceptions. Well about 70% of staff had already decided NOT to get the vaccination as they knew quite well how over blown the whole fiasco has been. Now the suits in the corporate offices are in a blind panic as they're about to lose a crippling amount of staff due to their mandate on the vaccine. This is really interesting to observe close up. Even the president of the facility is stating he won't be getting the vaccination as are several doctors the facility is teamed up with.
