20 Attorneys General Join Fight Against Joe Biden’s Executive Gun Control

Republican attorneys general from 20 states are taking up the fight against President Joe Biden’s executive gun control regarding firearm parts and kits.

The AGs are issuing comments on the Alcohol of Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives’ (ATF) proposed rule change issued in response to Biden’s call for DOJ regulatory gun control in lieu of legislative action.

Biden has not been able to get any movement on gun control in Congress, and the executive/regulatory route provides a way he can try to implement a limited number of changes. Breitbart News noted the DOJ put forward a “ghost gun” rule proposal on May 7, 2021.

The rules would require serial numbers to be added to gun parts “in easy-to-build firearm kits.” It would also require Federal Firearm License holders (FFLs) to add a serial number to any previously built or 3D-printed gun that “they take into inventory.”

Fox News reported that Arizona AG Mark Brnovich and West Virginia AG Patrick Morrisey led the group of AGs in voicing opposition to gun control.

AG Morrisey said:

Private individuals and businesses have the right to assemble firearms for their own use — a fact borne out in early American history and expressly recognized by the Gun Control Act. The Second Amendment is a core tenant of our Constitution, and this regulation would treat the activity of assembling firearm parts as a problem to be stamped out, rather than a right and tradition to be respected.

Together, the 20 AGs noted that the ATF is authorized to regulate firearms and receivers that are complete, but the agency is not authorized to regulate parts in an incomplete receiver.

The AGs noted, “By allowing ATF to decide for itself which firearms it will regulate, unconstrained by Congress’s guidance, the proposed rule is unconstitutional.”

In addition to Arizona and West Virginia, the remainder of the AGs are from “Alabama, Arkansas, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina and South Dakota.”

Biden is also seeking regulatory changes on AR-pistols with stabilizer braces.

Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC) noted that stabilizer braces were originally approved because of their value in allowing injured combat veterans to steady the pistol and continue to enjoy the Second Amendment. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken admitted reading an internal cable from about two dozen diplomats warning of the potential swift Taliban takeover of Afghanistan as U.S. troops were pulling out in mid-July, about a month before the jihadi group forced the collapse of the country’s government and military Sunday.

The group of U.S. diplomats reportedly sent the confidential cable, signed on July 13, through a so-called dissent channel and offered recommendations on ways to deal with the situation and accelerate an evacuation.

CNN learned from two unnamed State Department officials that “the diplomats decided to send the dissent memo because they felt previous warnings and recommendations they had made were being ignored and labeled alarmist.”

Blinken admitted reading the internal cable cautioning Kabul could fall when he and Gen. Mike Milley, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer, were briefing lawmakers Friday about the post-Taliban takeover chaos engulfing the country.

In response to Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) asking, “when he read the dissent cable that said the Taliban would take over Afghanistan quicker, Blinken said he read it in mid-July,” Punch Bowl News Founder Jake Sherman wrote on Twitter.

Nevertheless, even after reading the cable, the secretary continued to assure the public that the fall of Afghanistan after the full departure of U.S.-led NATO troops expected to be completed by the end of August was a far-fetched notion. The U.S. military’s withdrawal was moving ahead of schedule as the Taliban carried out an aggressive offensive to seize territory from the Afghan government, with more than 90 percent of it completed by the time the jihadis entered Kabul and declared victory.

Blinken’s optimistic assessments about the potential outcome of the withdrawal proved to be consistently wrong, Breitbart News acknowledged early this week.

The secretary insisted that the collapse of Kabul was unlikely, even as warnings from U.S. intelligence agents, including from his department, became ever more pessimistic – as the Afghan security forces that the American government had spent tens of billions and years to train and equip were unable to stop – the Taliban from quickly seizing territory in recent months.

Echoing President Joe Biden, Blinken denied that the U.S. intelligence community had assessed that Kabul would likely collapse last Sunday, the day the Taliban takeover culminated with the jihadis sweeping into the Afghan capital, the seat of the country’s government.

“[The U.S. intelligence community] did not reach that conclusion,” Blinken told CNN Sunday, insisting even after the terrorist group declared victory and the government collapsed that “the likelihood there’s going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely.”

In early July, President Biden also denied that the U.S. intelligence community had assessed that a Taliban victory was likely, telling reporters the same thing Blinken told CNN, verbatim.

“The likelihood there’s going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning the whole country is highly unlikely,” Biden said.

White House officials have refused to confirm whether Biden was aware of the U.S. intelligence community’s predictions about the potential fall of the Afghan government.

Democratic state Rep. Karen Whitsett of Detroit told FOX News’ “The Ingraham Angle” Monday that she went into home quarantine on March 12, the day she last attended a session at the State House in Lansing, and her condition only got worse from there.

“It took the longest [time] for me to actually be able to get an appointment and getting with my doctor, which was the 18th of March, and then actually getting the COVID test,” Whitsett said on the program.

She initially thought she’d contracted a bout of pneumonia and was prescribed the antibiotic amoxicillin.

But then on March 31, she tested positive for COVID-19. By then, she said, her condition had “just plummeted.”

“It went from the headaches being severe to fluid building up in my lungs, to sweats breaking out to the cough and my breathing being labored,” Whitsett said. “It all happened in a matter of hours.”

At the hospital, Whitsett learned that the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, under Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, had issued a state order prohibiting the use of hydroxychloroquine. Though that order was retracted several days later, at the time, Whitsett struggled to get her hands on the medication.

“I did have a difficult time, even that day, obtaining the medication because of an order that was put down in my state,” she said on the program. “And it was on that day, so you can imagine how terrified I was that I had to beg and plead and go through a whole lot to try to get the medication.”

Whitsett suffers from chronic Lyme disease — for which hydroxychloroquine is also used as a treatment — but she said she had never thought of it as a potential coronavirus treatment until President Trump touted the drug.

The United States defence officials reportedly revealed that they tested a hypersonic missile that President Donald Trump has long touted as a ‘super-duper’ new military weapon. According to an international media outlet, a senior defence official called the testing a ‘success’ and added that the missile flew 17 times faster than the speed of sound. The official also informed that test was initially tested back in March over the Pacific Ocean, however, very little additional information was revealed.

According to reports, the US President has taken a special interest in the missile and he even oft-cited the test that the Pentagon had described being as ‘successful’. While Donald Trump has repeatedly made comments about a supersonic missile that is faster than any other missile, the defence official reportedly said that missiles being developed by the United States will not be nuclear-capable. Even with the fastest missile, it was also noted that the American effort still lags behind those of Moscow and Beijing’s already fielded weapons systems.

US plans to conduct 40 flight test

As per reports, the hypersonic missiles are traditionally defined as missiles that travel at least five times the speed of sound, which is more than 3,800 miles per hour. Given the tremendous speed and ability to manoeuvre in the atmospheres, the hypersonic missiles are also seen as particularly hard to defend against using conventional missile defence systems. While speaking to the media outlet, the official said that trying to defend against a hypersonic vehicle becomes very difficult to deal with as high speed and uncertainty in-flight trajectory are combined together.

The US military is still years away from fielding a hypersonic weapon, however, the officials have targeted to complete the project by 2023. Although, back in June Department of Defence Director Research and Engineering for Modernization, Mark Lewis reportedly said that the US is looking to conduct its first test flights of completed hypersonic prototype weapons by 2025 with deployable weapons by the second half of the decade. Furthermore, as per reports, the US Defence Department plans to carry out at least 40 flight test of hypersonic mission over the Pacific Ocean in the next four years.

According to the criminal complaint, Radisson Village Clerk Gwen Genari grew suspicious after Frazier said he was indefinitely confined when requesting an absentee ballot before later saying "that he wasn't often at home."
