Justice Centre lawyers in Ottawa representing Freedom Convoy truckers

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) is now representing the Freedom Convoy organizers and has a team of lawyers on the ground in Ottawa to provide legal assistance.

JCCF constitutional lawyer Keith Wilson gave a press conference on Thursday in the nation’s capital alongside convoy organizers.

According to Lich, accountants and lawyers working for the convoy have been communicating with GoFundMe, who said it stopped the truck convoy’s crowdfunding page on Wednesday “to ensure it complies with (their) terms of service and applicable laws and regulations.”

Lich said they are hoping to have the recent suspension on their account lifted soon.

Parliament Hill and Ottawa’s downtown core might not be quite so packed full of people as this past weekend, but the crowds and events are far from over.

Today, most eyes have been glued to the constantly changing situation at Coutts, Alberta at the Sweetgrass U.S./Canada border, where truckers and RCMP have been in negotiations and stand-offs for the better part of 2 days.

However, that doesn’t mean that the events and energy in our nation’s capital have ceased!

While the massive crowds in Ottawa from the weekend having dissipated somewhat, there are still large crowds at Parliament Hill and trucks parked as far as the eye can see, refusing to go anywhere until freedom wins.

So let’s take a look at some of Rebel News' coverage today in Ottawa, and also what is upcoming.

First, let’s start with the nasty rumour mill.

In a staff bulletin, the Canada Revenue Agency management falsely accused Freedom Convoy protestors of looting offices and causing property damage. As it turns out, and was later confirmed by police, this didn’t happen!

Turns out that the real events are much more benign, and often quite heartwarming. This includes footage from our on-the-ground reporter Lincoln Jay Tuesday showing food being served to anyone who needed it outside Parliament.

Teenager suffers vaccine reaction, now wheelchair bound

Within minutes of receiving her second COVID shot, Jasmine experienced pins and needles in her foot, tightening at the back of her neck and a headache.

In this interview, I feature another story of vaccine injury. The same kind of injury that is censored or downplayed by mainstream media, TV doctors and second-rate public health bureaucrats as “rare.”

Jasmine Comeau is a 17-year-old Grade 12 student from Miramichi, New Brunswick.

She was eager to get back to normal so she could enjoy her final year of high school, and wanted to do her part to ensure that would happen. Her medical officer of health, Dr. Jennifer Russell, even went so far as claiming “There is a road back to somewhat of a normal life and it runs through a vaccination clinic…”

Jasmine’s mother, Diane Siemens, and her have been left to try to advocate for themselves and navigate unchartered territory with little to no support from the very government that coerced this statistically at zero-risk teenager into this injection.

Diane is a Licensed Practical Nurse who is also doubly vaccinated. Her experience was much different than Jasmine's.

A few days after New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs' proof-of-vaccine mandate came into effect, Jasmine caved and signed up to receive her second Pfizer injection.

Immediately she felt the liquid go into her arm and run cold throughout her veins. Within minutes, she experiencing pins and needles in her foot, tightening at the back of her neck and a headache.

After expressing concerns to her mother, clinic staff had Jasmine wait an additional 10 minutes — for a total of 25 minutes — before releasing her with instructions to go home, take Advil and rest.

Within four days Jasmine’s mother called an ambulance when after her condition worsened and she became increasingly unable to walk.

She now experiences pain daily, including tremors and muscle spasms that last upwards of 45 minutes. Jasmine is now wheelchair bound and unable to live a normal life. She cannot navigate the bathroom, and her hospital bed now occupies her family's dining room, since she cannot climb the stairs to her bedroom — a space she recalls as being “very pretty.”

Jasmine and Diane are forced to rent hospital equipment such as a walker, a hospital bed and a wheelchair. They have been told that Jasmine’s condition is temporary, but as months drag on, they question this prognosis. Her medications and supplements are extensive and expensive.

Diane has also been off work to assist Jasmine with the 24/7 care that she now requires. Their finances have become so strained that Diane set up a GoFundMe account to help with the endless costs.

The mother and daughter duo want to see an end to vaccine mandates before more children and adolescents are maimed. They express concern over the lack of informed consent and wish the news and government officials educated the public about the serious potential of vaccine injury.

The leadership of the ongoing blockade on Alberta's Southern border in protest of the pandemic lockdown restrictions has a message for the Alberta government.

Update February 3, 2022: Truckers at the border blockade now tell Rebel News they have resolved to stay at Coutts. Earlier statements about ending the blockade were a miscommunication. Supportive protests are expected to happen in cities across Alberta including Edmonton.

But the protest isn't over. It's just moving to Edmonton, Alberta — Premier Jason Kenney's place.

The leadership of the ongoing blockade on Alberta's Southern border in protest of the pandemic lockdown restrictions has released a message for the Alberta government:

Family Owned Towing Company Releases Statement Refusing to Assist Canadian Police in Impounding the Peaceful Freedom Convoy

Inter-Pacific Transport Ltd, Calgary’s only family-owned, 24/7, full-service, transportation, crane, and container service company, released a statement on Wednesday rejecting the requests from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to assist in the removal of trucks.

The company received a call from Alberta’s RCMP and other agencies requesting towing services at the US-Canada border but they turned down the request.

“We at Inter-Pacific Transportation (Group of companies) agree with peaceful protesting and stand with our lawful friends throughout the industry who are fighting for their Canadian Rights & Freedom throughout Alberta and the rest of Canada,” Jonathan Francis, CEO, wrote in the news release.

On February 1st 2022, we received a call from the Alberta R.C.M.P and other agencies requesting our assistance in providing towing services at the Alberta-United States Coutts Border crossing protest.

As many Canadians are aware this is a very uneasy situation for any business within the trucking and transportation industry. Our team has always held the standards of quality and professional service very high. That said, it is not in our best business or personal interest to assist with towing and impounding of Canadians and we have choose to refused to assist with this request and any other request of such nature surrounding the convoy and protesting unless it is requested by a driver or transport company for mechanical reasons.

We at Inter-Pacific Transportation (Group of companies) agree with peaceful protesting and stand with our lawful friends throughout the industry who are fighting for their Canadian Rights & Freedom throughout Alberta and the rest of Canada.

Canadian man drives SUV through group of Freedom Convoy protesters, injuring 4

A Canadian man is facing criminal charges after plowing through a group of protesters taking part in the Freedom Convoy of truckers protesting the country’s coronavirus vaccine mandates Friday night.

"A 42yr old male is facing charges after driving through a group of protesters that were part of the Freedom Convoy at the Legislative grounds," the Winnipeg Police tweeted Saturday. "4 adult males were struck."

In an accompanying press release, police say the driver in a Jeep Patriot plowed through the crowd and then sped off at high speeds before being chased down by police and arrested after a brief struggle.

Three people sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention and the fourth was treated in the hospital and released.

"A 42-year-old male from Headingly, Manitoba, faces charges of: Assault with Weapon x 4, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Cause Bodily Harm x 2, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Fail to Stop After Accident Knowing That Reckless x 2, Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident x 2," police say.

Graphic video of the incident circulated on social media showing a group of people peacefully protesting before being struck by the Jeep and chasing after it as it fled.

The Freedom Convoy is composed of truckers and other protesters who are demanding the Canadian government end federal COVID-19 mandates including vaccine requirements for cross-border travel.

The convoy began Jan. 23 and culminated with hundreds of thousands of demonstrators arriving in Ottawa, Canada's capital, on Jan. 29 to protest the mandates. Many truckers have remained parked in the same places since the weekend in below-freezing temperatures, honking their horns and revving their engines.

"We're all brothers in this together, and we're here for one cause, and that's the fight for the freedoms of Canadians and for Canada itself," one trucker, Andrew, told Fox News.

Canadian trucker Mat Mackenzie said on Friday that the freedom convoy isn't going to stop until the Canadian government removes COVID vaccine mandates.

"They are not giving in and I got to say, we have a message to bring to all Canadians and the world watching that our freedoms matter," Mackenzie told Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino on "America’s Newsroom."

On Friday, GoFundMe removed the $10 million Canadian Trucker Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser.

Hours after the digital highway robbery, the Ottawa Police Department (OPD) tweeted out a statement that thanked the crowdfunding platform for caving to the city’s demands to withhold funding from the protesters.

The OPD statement also called on other platforms to follow suit, while labeling the grassroots movement against Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s authoritarianism an “unlawful demonstration.”

“We want to thank GoFundMe for listening to our concerns as a City and a police service. The decision to withhold funding for these unlawful demonstrations is an important step and we call on all crowdfunding sites to follow.”

FDA Restores Document on Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine Approval After Pressure From Epoch Times, Lawmakers

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has restored a document outlining why it approved Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine, days after the regulatory agency pulled the 30-page file offline after receiving questions about it from The Epoch Times.

No explanation has been given for why the document vanished hours after the questions were sent, but the removal triggered pushback from the National Vaccine Information Center and multiple members of Congress.

“The coincidental removal of the approval documents for the Moderna vaccine is another massive blow to the credibility of the FDA, and I call on the agency to release this document immediately,” Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), a member of the House Oversight Committee, told The Epoch Times via email on Feb. 4.

The document in question is called the Summary Basis for Regulatory Action (SBRA) and was made public on Feb. 1, one day after the FDA approved Moderna’s jab without consulting its expert advisory panel.

After The Epoch Times sent questions about critical portions of the document, it disappeared from the agency’s website.

It popped back up after multiple emails and phone calls from The Epoch Times.

Spokespersons have declined to explain what happened.

The document, embedded below, includes the highest government estimate yet for post-vaccination heart inflammation cases. An FDA meta-analysis of data from four health care claims databases estimated that, among males aged 18 to 25, the rate of myocarditis following Moderna’s primary series was 148 per million males vaccinated. Myocarditis is a form of heart inflammation that can lead to death, though most cases do not.

The FDA has declined so far to provide a copy of the meta-analysis or a copy of another document referred to in the SBRA, a quantitative, age-stratified benefit-risk analysis in males 18 and older to evaluate the benefits and risks of Moderna’s vaccine.

The premier of the Canadian province of Ontario denounced the truckers protesting the COVID-19 vaccine mandates and other coronavirus protocols, calling it an “occupation” and demanding for it to be ended.

“It’s not a protest anymore. It’s become an occupation,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said, according to The Associated Press. “It’s time for this to come to an end.”

Among the coronavirus protocols that Canadian truckers are protesting is a requirement that those who are unvaccinated undergo COVID-19 testing and quarantine following cross-border travel from the U.S.

Those protesting the virus protocol organized a march to Canada’s capital, Ottawa, which last weekend saw thousands of protesters, the AP noted. More than 1,000 protesters are anticipated to be back at the Capitol on foot this weekend, in addition to between 300 and 400 additional trucks.

Other protests are expected in Quebec City and Toronto.

Other lawmakers have denounced what has been dubbed a “freedom truck convoy.”

“I wholeheartedly and unreservedly deplore and denounce what is happening in Ottawa with the so-called Freedom Convoy right now. Let me be clear: If you wrap yourself in or go about waving a Nazi or Confederate flag, you are declaring yourself a person who embraces hate, bigotry, and racism,” Sen. Dennis Patterson said in a statement, according to the AP.

However, some in the U.S. have expressed their support for truckers, including former President Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who said “Canadian truckers rule.”

"We want those great Canadian truckers to know that we are with them all the way," Trump said to a rally in Texas late last month, according to CTV News.

Canada has not been the only country to grapple with protesting against the pandemic — numerous European nations, like France, have experienced citywide efforts to end coronavirus restrictions and health passes, with some arguing it is an infringement on their personal freedoms.

OTTAWA: The Justice Centre today warned that Ottawa police would be breaking the law if police attempt to intimidate or arrest people who bring food or other supplies to truckers who are peacefully exercising their Charter rights and freedoms in Ottawa.

A tweet from Ottawa Police from 11:52 a.m. on Sunday February 6 states “Anyone attempting to bring material supports (gas, etc.) to the demonstrators could be subject to arrest. Enforcement is underway.”

“People who bring food, water, gasoline or other supplies to peacefully protesting truckers are not breaking any law. There is no basis for this police threat, that was issued by Twitter this morning,” states lawyer Nicholas Wansbutter, retained by the Justice Centre, which is representing the Freedom Convoy.

“In a free and democratic society that is governed by the rule of law, citizens can freely associate with each other, including the giving and receiving of goods and gifts. There is no law that would allow the Ottawa Police to arrest people for giving fuel or food to another Canadian,” continues Mr. Wansbutter.

“The truckers themselves are exercising their Charter freedoms of expression, association and peaceful assembly, as they are legally entitled to do,” concludes Mr. Wansbutter.

Ottawa City Official: Contracted Tow Trucks Refuse to Remove ‘Freedom Convoy’

Tow truck companies, contracted by the City of Ottawa, are refusing all of the requests to take heavy vehicles associated with the “Freedom Convoy” from the downtown area, according to city manager Steve Kanellakos who told reporters on Monday.

The top city official explained that all of the tow truck operators from the list of companies the city typically uses to provide tow services have unilaterally said “no” to any request. Global News reported that the demonstrations are headed into the second week of protest.

“We’ve contacted them all and they’re all refusing … to provide heavy tow truck work,” Kanellakos said in a press conference. However, he explained that the tow truck operators are still doing “light” work, not heavy trucks and larger vehicles.

Leftist Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced jeers and insults in Parliament on Tuesday as he once again faced questions regarding his derision towards citizens who oppose civil rights violations tied to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

Trudeau had a contentious week in Parliament after vanishing from the public eye to an undisclosed site in late January, allegedly to recover from a Chinese coronavirus infection himself. He returned on Monday to an emergency session discussing the “Freedom Convoy,” a series of protests led by truckers demanding an end to vaccine and mask mandates, business lockdowns, and travel restrictions that the Trudeau government has imposed in an attempt to contain the pandemic.

The largest iteration of the convoy is currently in downtown Ottawa, not far from Parliament. The city has been flooded by trucks for nearly two weeks and attracted thousands of protesters – most of whom, according to police, have been peaceful. Reports on the ground have revealed the development of a community among the protesters including distribution of free food, drinks, and other supplies and a generally positive party atmosphere, save for instances of police brutality.

Trudeau has repeatedly insisted he would not listen to any calls for lifting the mandates and restoring normal life to Canada. He has accused the protesters of racism and misogyny and equated them with Nazis in his statements in Parliament on Monday.

The next day, he once again faced calls to meet with opposition leaders and bring an end to the onerous mandate regime currently in place. The interim leader of the Conservative Party, Candice Bergen, asked Trudeau if he would consider ending restrictions once again.

“This cannot be a slow and dragged out process simply because of the prime minister’s ego, pride, or denial,” Bergen said. “Canadians are too tired. Canadians need hope. So will the prime minister follow the science follow the evidence, end the restrictions, end the mandates?”

Trudeau did not answer the question, instead asserting, amid heckling and jeers, “we’re going to continue to follow the science, we’re going to continue to have Canadians’ backs, we’re going to continue to protect people’s lives.”

Bergen again asked him to answer the question, but upon his second attempt, the jeering became so loud that he stopped abruptly and sat down to wait for it to end. Amid the shouting, one voice could be heard saying, “Let him answer, he’s not good at it!”

Speaker of the House of Commons Anthony Rota admonished the chamber and confirmed that the shouting was, indeed, jeers.

“The honorable leader of the opposition asked a question and she’s trying to hear, but she can’t hear it above all the heckling and shouting that’s going on,” Rota scolded.

Canada’s Freedom Convoy trucker protest against vaccine mandates continued on Tuesday as mandates, vaccine passport systems, and other coronavirus restrictions began falling in provinces across the country – including Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island.

Premier Jason Kenney of Alberta, scene of a vigorous Freedom Convoy protest at a vital border crossing with the United States, announced the end of its vaccine passports on Tuesday in a remorseful news conference that described pandemic restrictions as a source of “terrible division.”

“Now is the time to begin learning to live with [Chinese coronavirus],” Kenney said on Tuesday. “We cannot remain at a heightened state of emergency forever. We have to begin to heal.”

“The threat of Covid-19 [Chinese coronavirus] to public health no longer outweighs the hugely damaging impact of health restrictions. We are well positioned to live with this virus,” he said, citing reduced hospitalization and encouraging wastewater analysis as reasons to begin easing pandemic rules.

In truth, the number of hospitalizations in Alberta is fairly steady, as the Globe and Mail pointed out – with some implied skepticism about Kenney’s insistence that the massive Freedom Convoy protests had nothing to do with his sudden realization that pandemic restrictions have outlived their usefulness.

Ontario Health Minister: ‘No Plans’ to End Vaccine Passports, Mask Mandate Despite Protests

Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott said on Wednesday that the province has “no plans” to end the vaccine passport system or mask mandates, as other conservative Canadian provinces scrap Wuhan coronavirus restrictions.

The Ontario Health Minister gave her remarks at a press conference Wednesday saying that the government was sticking to its re-opening plan, but said the idea of scrapping the vaccine passport system was not under consideration.

“We have no plans to currently drop the vaccine passport or masking,” Elliot said, and added that the mask mandate will be in place “for some time to come,” refusing to give a timeline for the end of either policy.

Elliott did, however, announce that rapid antigen tests would be available to Ontarians at grocery stores and pharmacies but would be limited to one box of tests per household. The government has also lifted a halt on non-urgent surgeries implemented this year.

The announcement comes as other conservative-led provincial governments in Alberta and Saskatchewan have announced in recent days their intentions to scrap vaccine passport systems and other restrictions.

Alberta, which is governed by the United Conservative Party (UCP), ended its vaccine passport programme this week, but Premier Jason Kenney noted that the QR code system would still be maintained if businesses chose to implement the vaccine passport themselves.

“Now is the time to begin learning to live with [Chinese coronavirus],” Kenney stated. “These restrictions have led to terrible division.”

The change in policy for Kenney came after protests by truckers against the vaccine mandates, vaccine passports, and coronavirus restrictions took hold in Ottawa and a separate blockade protest began along the Alberta border with the U.S. state of Montana at the town of Coutts.

Matthew Luloff, an Ottawa City Councilman, told American taxpayer-funded NPR that the “Freedom Convoy” protests against coronavirus-related mandates in the city were fueled by “miscreants” embracing “hate symbols,” which defies on-the-ground reports showing peaceful demonstrations attracting people of all ages.

Luloff said the protest had “morphed into something much uglier” than what eyewitness reports had proven, without offering concrete evidence.

“When you say ugly, describe that to me,” an NPR host for Morning Edition asked Luloff.

“So some of the most well-known radicals in this country have now descended upon the capital,” Luloff said, failing to name any.

“Some of them are calling for violence. Some of them are threatening individual politicians. There have been, you know, threats against life and limb. And it’s incredibly discouraging. We’ve seen some hate symbols. We’ve seen flyers distributed that are acutely anti-Semitic,” he said.

“Now, at the same time, there are people within this group that are demonstrating downtown with legitimate concerns, but you don’t have a productive conversation at the business end of a gun or the grill of a semitruck,” Luloff argued.

“Among some of the demands by the protesters is that the vaccine mandates end nationwide,” the NPR host asked. “Will the prime minister [Justin Trudeau] give in to these demands?”

Luloff blamed Trudeau’s intransigence on the issue — he has steadfastly refused to meet the protesters or address their concerns in any way — on the United States:

The prime minister has aligned our vaccination policy with the United States so that cross-border truckers are required to be vaccinated. The United States is our largest trading partner, and it is important that on policy matters like this that we are aligned to ensure the proper flow of goods. And so, essentially, it’s the municipality that is paying for the grievances that these truckers and other miscreants, frankly, have with the federal government.

Canadian YouTuber Viva Frei: ‘Legacy Media’ Are ‘Outright Lying’ About Freedom Convoy

Canadian YouTuber David Freiheit, who operates under the name Viva Frei, told Breitbart News on Tuesday in Ottawa, ON, that the “legacy media” and “politicians” are “outright lying” about the Freedom Convoy in Canada’s capital city.

Freiheit has done hour-long livestreams from Ottawa across recent days, documenting events at and around Parliament Hill in the city’s downtown core.

“The first thing you need to know is that … the legacy media of Canada is outright lying,” Freiheit said when asked what distant observers should know about the ongoing demonstration in Ottawa. “The politicians are outright lying. They’re banking on the fact that a majority of the people are getting their news from the same outlets that they pay to lie.”

Those consuming and trusting “legacy news media,” he warned, end up believing false characterizations of the protest.

He remarked, “If you believe what you were told, you would not feel safe walking here, and you would think that something is going on here that is not going on here.”

The demonstrations include “people crying with joy,” he shared, while others “are crying from tragedy that they’ve gone through the last two years.”

The Freedom Convoy renewed many Canadians’ sense of patriotism, Freiheit held.

“People are saying that their face muscles hurt from smiling so much, and that they haven’t smiled so much in two years, that they haven’t been this proud to be Canadian in two years, and that they haven’t felt this level of patriotism in two years,” he stated.

Frei echoed sentiments shared by other demonstration supporters framing the event as defined by “love.”

He concluded, “When they talk about a summer of love, this would be a winter of love. [It is] nothing but people walking around, hugging, playing hockey, eating outside. This is nothing but the most peaceful, peace-loving, law-abiding people you’ve ever seen. They’re shoveling the sidewalks. They’re cleaning up their garbage. Just look around, it’s a thing of beauty.”

"Today… I want to talk about the importance of healing the growing and dangerous rift in our society. When a group of people feel that they are being systemically disadvantaged, they can either suffer in silence or organize to protest.

In a democratic society, legitimate protest is a safety valve. Its purpose is to alert everyone that there is a fundamental social

problem to address through peaceful means instead of violence.

Over the past years, the Prime Minister has shown understanding and support for protests by various groups including indigenous opponents of pipelines, Black Lives Matter, and even farmers in India. The BLM organization is run by self-described communists. And BLM demonstrations

in the summer of 2020 led to rioting, arson, destruction, and physical injuries in many North American cities. And yet, Mr. Trudeau went to kneel at one such demonstration here in Ottawa. And the media covered it as a legitimate protest.

In contrast, Mr. Trudeau has been nothing but vicious and vindictive in his attacks against opponents of Covid mandates and restrictions… in general, and against the Truckers Convoy in particular… even though

they have been entirely peaceful and non-violent. Instead of listening to, and trying to understand these Canadians, and adopt his policies in order to avoid creating a larger rift in our society, the Prime Minister has

demonized them. Since the last fall election, he has adopted even more repressive measures to marginalized them and crush all disedence.

Yesterday, one of his own MPs said his government's policies on Covid have been politicized and divisive, and that they unfairly stigmatized some Canadians.

As for the mainstream media… they are becoming nothing less than the propaganda arm of the government. I have never… never… in all my life seen so many outright lies, distortion, and disinformation in the media especially when it comes to reporting what's going on here in Ottawa.

A peaceful democratic society cannot function properly without trust.

Now, a large and growing minority of Canadians have lost trust in our government, in our institutions, in our media. They feel like they are being treated as enemies of society… subhumans. These people won't be going away and won't stop protesting.

So… you, in federal and provencial

governments… and you, in the media… have a choice. You can either double-down on the demonization and repression… which will only widen the social rift and lead to further protests and chaos… or you can de-escalate.

Covid measures are quickly being abandoned in other countries and in some of our provinces here in Canada. The Prime Minister can put an end to this crisis today. He should announce that he will eliminate all

mandates and restrictions and that he will focus his efforts on working with provinces to (protect most of amenable?) Canadians, while respecting everyone's rights and freedoms.

Be a statesman, Mr. Trudeau. Stop widening the rift in our society. End this crisis now.

…Ford said the provincial government will provide additional authority to revoke the personal and commercial licences of anyone who doesn't comply with the new orders. The measures are temporary, but Ford said the government "has every intention" to bring new legislation forward to make them permanent.

"We are taking the steps necessary to support our police as they do what it takes to restore law and order," Ford said.

The initial state of emergency declaration will last for 42 hours, and cabinet will meet on Saturday to further amend it if needed.

Ford said demonstrations in Ontario are no longer a protest but rather a "siege," adding there will be "severe" consequences for those involved.

As I recall, it was last night the police went to move in on the truckers in Ottawa, and quickly found themselves surrounded by citizens singing the Canadian National Anthem. The LEOs had a quick change of heart, as I had said many times that getting separated from their vehicles, being surrounded, and knowing the radio was no longer useful broke their will. That situation is completely foreign to their training and experience.

Earlier this afternoon on the Alberta side, cops moved in, some in tactical gear. The protesters locked arms and the cops resorted to issuing tickets to vehicles. Their show of force was a dud. Once again, their training and experience were inadequate in the situation and their nerve evaporated.

Premier Ford is same deal. He went "ooga booga 7 PM" but nobody blinked and the numbers actually went up. He is too used to compliance, and compliance is not happening. The politicians can meet all they want and proclaim anything but if no one obeys then their power is exposed as an illusion. The media know this so they must feed the masses with bullshit to demonize the protesters to remove popular support. It's the fall of the Soviet Union all over again. Party bosses and goons have no idea what to do when the peasants refuse to obey or be intimidated.

I agree with you on all counts. What I'm seeing is this is the People versus Tyranny. The true Power resides with the People who create Government to maintain Society. When Government no longer respects the People and imposes restrictions to where no dissent is permitted then Tyranny has replaced Elected Government.

Courts may order whatever they wish to put to paper but if the People do not obey, and the minions of the Tyranny are rendered powerless, then edicts, orders, injunctions, and statutes become moot.

Things have been nice so far despite the fuel being taken and then returned contaminated with water. Snow has been shoveled by hand, trash picked up, lots of dancing. The media is happily putting on liberals who whine about "violence" when no actual violence has been seen. Hurt feelings are not violence. Now if the cops make a move to seize children, then violence may quickly ensue and these are not weak college kids the cops will face. There's the tactic of the "antifa un-arrest" where cops make an arrest, usually using plastic ties because of crowd control doctrine and actual handcuffs are expensive. The arrested is corralled prior to transport where crowd size distracts the cops, some come in, clip the ties, lock arms and walk away with the now un-arrested. Cops are screwed, never got a name or ID because processing procedure takes time.

On Sunday, the Canadian military was sent in to assist law enforcement officials as they forcefully cleared out the Trucker Convoy protest from the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit.

Armed with a court order granted the day before, officers arrested dozens of protesters and towed away any vehicles that remained in the area.

Several peaceful protesters are now facing serious punishment, including possible fines of up to $100,000, imprisonment for up to a year, and even the “permanent” loss of their driver’s licenses.

Police handed out fliers on Saturday night, detailing the punishments for continuing to blockade the Ambassador bridge.

Notice the last bulletpoint: “these measures will be permanent.” To add insult to injury, Trudeau and his stasi Goons are openly mocking the protesters for challenging his tyranny and demanding a ‘permanent’ end to mandates.

Despite the warnings, the brave Canadians remained, ready to take whatever punishment was coming to them.

We Are All Truckers Now

As momentum from the Freedom Convoy in Canada mounts and works its way into the US, and similar convoys spring up in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, people are collectively standing up to two years of COVID restrictions, lies, misery, and abuse at the hands of our government masters. And we owe it all to Canada’s truckers. Oh, Canada’s truckers! We love you!

But it’s not just the truckers. It’s their families traveling with them. It’s the ordinary citizens bringing them fuel, hot drinks, and meals. It’s the throngs of people braving the cold and raising maple leaf flags in solidarity. It’s those sitting on the sidelines, cheering them on—hoping they don’t cave; praying they continue to resist. It’s the non-MSM journalists actually interviewing truckers and hearing their well-articulated grievances for the first time and revealing that, it turns out, they aren’t the Nazis, terrorists, racists, white supremacists, small fringe minority, or Neanderthals the Trudeau-Biden elites would have you believe.

The truckers make a clear case for freedom. They understand tyranny when they see it. As trucker after trucker emerges as Sikh, Jew, Black, Asian, Ukrainian, and regular white guy, they scoff at the simplistic and over-used, now ho-hum and fully anticipated, fabricated accusations that they are racist terrorists. Those who came to the West from far lands are afraid, however, that the misery and oppression they left behind in their home countries are coming to their adopted homelands.

No hoods. No swastikas. No Confederate flags. Those are all just government-fed fictions.

And what’s the reaction of the officials both in Canada and the US? To pressure GoFundMe to cancel the $10 million raised for the Freedom Convoy; freeze out truckers and their children by having police remove their fuel cans in sub-freezing weather; arrest an old man for honking his horn; and starve out truckers and their families by threatening to arrest people who bring them food and drink. Meanwhile, the Biden administration and Pete Buttigieg plot to find alternate routes around bridges facing long delays because of the truck convoy and the state of Michigan brandishes the possibility of forcibly removing the big rigs and their supporters from the Ambassador Bridge.

Oh, let’s not forget the Department of Homeland Security promising to investigate as a domestic terrorist anyone who articulates viewpoints about COVID at variance with official government agitatsiya—attempting to thwart a US convoy before it even starts. You got that? That’s an unconstitutional prior restraint on expression if you ask me.

Forget the politicians. They’re worthless. But the police both in Canada and the US are going to have to decide if they want to support those fighting for the right to live free or be the jackboots and brown shirts of fascists past, robotically doing the bidding of their masters.

This is no longer run-of-the-mill law enforcement—to protect and serve, ensuring peace and safety of the citizenry. This is about our governments using a virus as an excuse to restrict our ability to work, live, travel, speak, pray, and parent; as a cudgel to exert power over our lives; and to spread disinformation to keep us living in fear and pitting us against one another. The police are being used to arrest and detain law-abiding, hard-working, tax-paying citizens whose views on COVID the authoritarians don’t like, but who have been forced to the brink and have no choice but to take bold (but peaceful and lawful) action to regain their lives and liberties.
