REMEMBER THAT TIME (AUGUST 12, 2019) when the FBI & NYPD were spotted raiding Epstein & Maxwell's "Rape, Blackmail & Extortion Island"?

 

In the HD drone-footage (linked below) it is clear to see the EVIDENCE BAGS containing AT LEAST ONE COMPUTER and other electronics bagged and tagged in window of the main house… in possession of at least 3 FBI agents, 2 NYPD officers or evidence techs, possible one local uniformed law enforcement officer, and several other "feds" in less obvious clothing - but with sidearms. (The team spotted the drone hovering outside, and then they covered the window with some blankets and cardboard boxes.)

REMINDER: Jeffrey Epstein allegedly committed suicide in a max security Metropolitan Correction Center, New York on August 10, 2019. The TWO guards responsible for keeping Epstein safe & secure took naps while on duty, both at the same time. And the multiple security cameras all happened to have "glitches" at the same time, making their "tapes" unusable. The mathematically improbable series of coincidences and professional derelictions-of-duty leads to the government shrugging it's shoulders and claiming they didn't hear or see anything about the moments leading up to Epstein's death in his locked high-profile poisoner prison cell. It's just a big "I dunno."

 

BUT JUST A DAY AND A HALF LATER the NYPD (along with FBI & other "Feds") are seen on Epstein & Maxwell's Blackmail and Extortion Island quickly collecting computers and other items from the main house, and most likely other facilities across the island. The island is over 1,600 miles away from New York, and while the NYPD and the FBI can't seem to catch high-profile criminals any longer, they can arrange a raiding party for a remote location two-thousand miles away without a hitch… well, one hitch… next time bring more Home Depot boxes for blocking off the windows.

 

WHAT WAS THE NYPD and FBI so eager to collect immediately after Epstein's alleged "suicide"? WAS the raid planned ahead of time (most likely, given the logistics involved)? IF the raid was planned prior to Epstein's death, was his death also planned to happen prior to this raid?

 

It's CERTAIN that the NYPD and FBI took items from Epstein & Maxwell's HQ on the island - the citizens have drone footage of it happening. WHAT the citizens do not know is - was this part of an INVESTIGATION into the Epstein extortion operation - OR was this part of a CLEAN-UP operation meant to remove bulk physical and computer evidence that was coordinated and planned to take place after the CLEAN-UP operation that happened in the prison cell just a day and a half prior?

 

DID the New York and Federal government act officially to protect the high-profile politicians and other "friends" caught up in the Epstein/Maxwell blackmail and extortion operation?

 

Ghislaine Maxwell was certainly connected to that evidence. She was running the operation in most ways. WAS THIS MODERN (2019) EVIDENCE ever produced for the current kangaroo trial of Maxwell, or are we to believe that the NYPD and/or FBI has somehow "lost" it as well?

 

IF we scrutinize these questions by the number ot related arrests and prosecutions for the crimes that were committed that led these high-profile politicians and other "friends" into a blackmail operation - the answer to my question is clear.

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was reportedly killed Saturday morning after being hit by a car in South Florida.

 

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Haskins’ agent, Cedric Saunders, confirmed the news.

The Steelers signed Haskins to a one-year restricted free agent contract in March after he signed with the team in 2021 but did not see any playing time.

 

“I’ve wanted to be a quarterback my entire life. Being a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers is a dream. I always had great respect for the black and gold. Great respect for Coach (Mike) Tomlin, 15 seasons with no losing season. I want to show him that I want this bad. I want to be a leader. I want to be a guy that people can rely on, on and off the field to be more than just a guy that can throw a ball, talented enough to be in a position where I can execute at a high level and keep the Steelers way,” Haskins said in a release in March.

 

Haskins was originally drafted by the Washington Commanders as the No. 15 overall pick in 2019. Before he was released by Washington in 2020, he completed 267 of 444 pass attempts for 2,804 with 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in two seasons, according to the Steelers.

 

Haskins played for Ohio State University and finished third in the Heisman Trophy race in 2018.

 

Haskins would have turned 25 on May 3.

The remark came after the Bild journalist asked what the worst thing he had heard in recent days was. Ukraine claims Russian troops committed atrocities against civilians in the town of Bucha northwest of Kiev before retreating last week. Russia has rejected the accusations, and claims Kiev manipulated evidence in what it calls a “provocation.”

 

Commenting on Berlin’s support for Kiev, the Ukrainian president lamented Germany’s apparent lack of enthusiasm for tougher sanctions against Russia.

 

“Some countries, and Germany is among them, are against an oil and gas embargo,” Zelensky said, adding, however, that he was content that the EU’s fifth round of sanctions “contains the coal and timber embargo.” He also accused Berlin of being overly cautious in its support for Kiev, refusing to provide the country with weapons for some time, and stressing that Ukraine would not become a NATO member state. Asked if he was prepared to sit down with Russian President

The Russian and Ukrainian negotiating teams have been engaged in talks for weeks now, in both face-to-face and virtual meetings. While the two nations have apparently come close to an agreement on certain topics, such as Ukraine’s future neutral status, they still have not been able to find common ground on others. Two EU states may end cooperation over Ukraine

Warsaw wants Hungary’s Orban to back its anti-Russia position before partnership can continue

 

Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, one of the top politicians of the Eastern European nation, said on Friday that cooperation with Hungary would not be possible unless Prime Minister Viktor Orban aligns himself with Kiev. Prior to the conflict in Ukraine, Poland and Hungary were staunch allies.

 

Kaczynski said in a radio interview that he has an “unequivocally negative” opinion of Orban’s refusal to take a harder stance on Russia following the latter’s military offensive on Ukraine.

 

“When Orban says that he cannot see what happened in Bucha, he must be advised to see an eye doctor,” Kaczynski said, referring to Orban’s refusal to blame Russia for the killing of civilians in the Ukrainian town of Bucha. Russia has strongly rejected the allegations, claiming Ukrainian forces staged a “crude and cynical provocation,” and has demanded a UN investigation into the incident.

 

Orban’s Fidesz party won a resounding victory in the election last weekend, and Orban declared afterwards that his country’s “alliance with Poland must be solidified as we cannot remain standing alone in this storm.”

 

This would be a “good thing, on the condition that Viktor Orban changes,” Kaczynski said, before cautioning that “we cannot cooperate as we had in the past if this continues.”

 

Poland and Hungary are normally staunch allies. Both are led by conservative governments, and the EU has threatened to withhold funds from both over their policies, including Poland’s Law and Justice Party’s open criticism of “LGBT ideology,” and Orban’s hardline stance on immigration and crackdown on foreign-funded NGOs.

 

However, the outbreak of war in Ukraine has exposed fundamental differences between both countries’ governments.

 

Polish President Andrzej Duda has declared diplomacy with Russia to be a waste of time. Warsaw has sent weapons and attempted to transfer fighter jets to Kiev, while Kaczynski has gone even further, demanding more NATO troops in Eastern Europe and declaring his country’s willingness to host American nuclear weapons. The latter proposal has been met with “deep concern” by Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

 

Hungary, on the other hand, has refused to send arms to Kiev, and forbidden the transfer of weapons across its border with Ukraine. Captured Russian sailors freed in Ukraine – Moscow

 

A cargo vessel crew trapped in the port of Mariupolhas been rescued by Russian troops, an official has confirmed

 

Fourteen Russian sailors seized by Ukrainians on a cargo vessel in February have now been rescued, according to Tatyana Moskalkova, Russia’s top human rights official.

 

The crew of the cargo ship Azov Concord “has been freed and is being evacuated to safety by our troops,” Moskalkova wrote on social media on Saturday.

 

She said that the sailors were captured by the Ukrainians in the Azov Sea port of Mariupol on February 24, the day Russia launched its military campaign in Ukraine. The ship could not leave the port due to naval mines, she added.

 

Moskalkova said the sailors had their cell phones and other belongings seized and had not been properly fed in captivity.

And I don’t want a country where weapons proliferate and where we consider that it’s up to the citizens to defend themselves,” said Macron.

 

Presumably, the farmer should have just allowed the four burglars to ransack his home and potentially harm his young daughter without doing anything to intervene.

Macron insisted that the farmer should have called the police, who in many areas of France are already stretched to the limit thanks to criminal gangs of migrants youths being in a perpetual state of war with them.

“I’m not going to judge this news. I convey the rules,” said Macron, whose weak record on security and crime is under scrutiny.

 

With the first round of the French election just days away and polls tightening in the race between Macron and his likely final round challenger Marine Le Pen, the comments will do his chances little good.

 

After being charged with murder, the farmer was released but will remain under judicial supervision.

'There have been no reports of overdue aircraft or ELT activations indicating an aircraft crash,' Alaska State Troopers reported in a release.

 

A rescue team on a helicopter flew a mission around the Lazy Mountain area this morning and located nothing suspicious and there were no signs of crashed aircraft.'

 

Online, theories ran wild.

 

'We saw this on the way to school this morning as well. Very eerie!' Christy Hronkin Swift wrote on the Palmer Alaska Buzz Facebook page.

 

'Looks like a meteor. I wonder where it landed,' Cassi Joi posted.

 

'Could it be a satellite? It’s so strange,' Shannon Del Vecchio Watson said.

 

'No wings,' Susie Kuke Martin noted.

 

However, officials eventually offered a far more tame explanation for the bizarre cloud, claiming it was a contrail from a commercial jet.

 

'Further investigation revealed that a large commercial jet was flying in that area around the time that the photos and video were taken,' officials said.

 

'The aircraft was contacted and reported normal flight operations on its way to JFK airport in New York.'

 

'Troopers believe that the photos and videos showed a contrail from the commercial jet combined with the rising sun which together caused the unique atmospheric sight.'

 

The photos emerged a day after news energed hundreds of military officers reporting injuries, including brain damage and burns, after encounters with UFOs, a top brain expert and former CIA officer revealed.

 

Detroit Professor Christopher Green was commissioned around 2010 by a secret $22 million defense program monitoring UFOs, to write a paper on injuries from close encounters with 'anomalous' craft.

 

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com the forensic neuroimaging expert, who has worked with the CIA since the 1960s, said he dealt with 'hundreds of patients' including special forces officers and other military personnel hurt after interacting with unidentified craft, some of whom later died.

US intel community killed its own credibility by revealing its Ukraine policies

Using disinformation to thwart an enemy is one thing. Spreading it to your own public and policymakers is another

 

The recent acknowledgement to NBC News by unnamed sources that the US government was declassifying intelligence to share with allies and the public to pre-empt and disrupt Russian planning, “undermine Moscow’s propaganda and prevent Russia from defining how the war is perceived in the world,” on the surface appears to avoid the pitfalls of politicization laid out by Gates 30 years ago. After all, according to these unnamed officials, this process of public disclosure was “underpinned by a rigorous review process by the National Security Council and the Intelligence Community to validate the quality of the information and protect sources and methods.” They added that “we only approve the release of intelligence if we are confident those two requirements are met.”

 

Not so fast.

 

According to the same NBC News report: “Multiple US officials acknowledged that the US has used information as a weapon even when confidence in the accuracy of the information wasn’t high. Sometimes,” the report noted, “it has used low-confidence intelligence.” The purpose for using intelligence which, to quote NBC News, “wasn’t rock solid”, was to deter Russian actions by keeping Russian President Vladimir Putin “off balance.”

 

So much for the intelligence community’s commitment to the “incontrovertible truth.”

 

It is well known that Ukraine maintains an expansive and capable information warfare capability. Units such as the Ukrainian Intelligence Service’s 72nd Center for Information and Psychological Operations (PSO) have been carrying out a sophisticated propaganda campaign designed to enhance the perception of Ukrainian strength and resolve while denigrating the Russian special military operation underway in Ukraine. Indeed, the 72nd PSO was considered by Russia to be such a threat that the Russian military singled out its headquarters for destruction early on in the conflict.

 

Moreover, it has been reported that, in the aftermath of the February 2014 “Maidan Revolution” in Ukraine, the US intelligence community has initiated and maintained in-depth contacts with their Ukrainian intelligence and security counterparts, a relationship which has only expanded in scope and scale over the course of the preceding eight years. Logic dictates that information operations targeting Russia would be an area of joint interest, and that the US would be assisting Ukraine in this effort following the initiation of the current Russian-Ukrainian conflict on February 24, 2022.

 

Providing declassified intelligence to Ukraine for it to be repackaged and disseminated as anti-Russian propaganda is very much a legitimate use of intelligence information. Moreover, under certain conditions relating to covert political action, US intelligence organizations may use manufactured information to help breathe life and credibility into a false narrative designed to undermine the operations of a designated enemy. Under such conditions, however, the information must not be able to be sourced back to the US and, most importantly, this information should not be disseminated in a manner which would misinform US policymakers.

 

The admission on the part of unnamed US national security officials, however, that the US is releasing sub-standard (i.e., potentially false and misleading) intelligence for the purpose of shaping a public narrative designed to be absorbed and believed by civilian consumers at home and abroad, thereby creating genuine political pressure on the Russian leadership, is a massive deviation from the normal precepts of covert information warfare. In fact, it is the perfect example of the deliberate distortion of analysis or judgments to achieve an objective irrespective of evidence that Robert Gates warned about in 1992.

 

Not anymore.

 

The US intelligence community has, today, perverted that logic, eliminating any notion of actual truth while elevating the “bodyguard of lies” to mimic truth, not for the purpose of defending it, but rather to promulgate the lie itself.

 

The US intelligence community has been walking on thin ice since its use of politicized intelligence to manufacture a case for war against Iraq in 2003. Now, the revelations that the US intelligence community is releasing sub-standard intelligence, knowing that it might be false and misleading, to shape US and global public opinion against Russia, should drive a stake through the heart of US credibility – or at the very least make the American public, and the world community, ask themselves whether they can ever again take US intelligence assertions at face value.

Rep. Chip Roy Calls to Stop Funding Government: ‘We’re Being Invaded’

The United States is currently under “invasion” at its southern border, according to Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), who called to reject funding a government that refuses to secure the border, pass his discharge petition to preserve the policy that helps border officials regulate the inflow of illegal immigration, and have the Lone Star State “stand up” in the fight to protect the border.

 

Claiming the establishment in Washington “doesn’t like to sign discharge petitions,” Rep. Chip Roy, appearing on the Dana Show with Dana Loesch Wednesday, first suggested that with another six to eight Democrats joining, enough signatures could be garnered to allow for moving a bill on the House floor.

 

In general, “the Speaker sets the agenda and that means the Speaker decides what comes up on the floor,” he said.

 

However, he noted an exception.

 

“Two hundred eighteen signatures on a discharge petition to move a bill means we can move a bill on the floor,” he said. “So we need six, seven, [or] eight Democrats to join us to get up to 218 signatures.”

 

“And so the media should ask every Democrat: ‘Why won’t you sign this discharge petition?’” he said.

 

The Texas Republican also called to stop funding the government.

 

“[On] September 30, the government funding runs out,” he said. “Well, we’ve got now five and a half months and we should fight and say, ‘Do not fund a government that refuses to secure the border.’”

 

“Let’s have that fight,” he added, though sensing Republicans would “run away” from the notion.

 

According to Rep. Roy, a shutdown is most appropriate under current circumstances.

What may be seriously in dispute is whether the U.S., after “the economic conquest of Europe”, will be able to “lock in African, South American and Asian countries”. The Eurasia integration process, rolling in earnest for 10 years now, conducted by the Russia-China strategic partnership and expanding to most of the Global South, will go no holds barred to prevent it.

 

There’s no question, as Hudson states, that “the world economy is being enflamed” – with the U.S. weaponizing trade. Yet on the Right Side of History we have the Rublegas, the petroyuan, the new monetary/financial system being designed in a partnership between the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) and China.

 

And that’s something no puny Cancel Culture War can erase.

Clusters

A 2017 version of the map had countries divided into nine clusters: the English-speaking, Latin America, Catholic Europe, Protestant Europe, African-Islamic, Baltic, South Asian, Orthodox and Confucian clusters.[1] In previous studies, the African-Islamic cluster was split into two (the African cluster and the Islamic cluster) and the Baltic states did not have their own cluster.[7]

Russia is among the most survival-value oriented countries, and at the other end, Sweden ranks highest on the self-expression chart.[5]

 

It has also been found that basic cultural values overwhelmingly apply on national lines, with cross-border intermixtures being relatively rare. This is true even between countries with shared cultural histories. Additionally, even cultural clusters of countries do not intermix much across borders. This suggests nations are culturally meaningful units.[11]

 

History

The map is updated and modified regularly along with the new waves of data from the World Values Survey. The different versions are available at the website of the World Values Survey.[12]

 

An early version of the map was published by Ronald Inglehart in 1997 with the dimensions named "Traditional vs. Secular-Rational Authority" and "Survival vs. Well-being".[13]

 

Inglehart and Welzel revised this map in 2005 and named the dimensions "Traditional vs. Secular-Rational Values" and "Survival vs. Self-expression Values".[8] This map and its various updates are generally referred to as the Inglehart–Welzel Cultural Map.

 

Welzel published a quite different map in 2013 with two closely related dimensions named "Emancipative Values" and "Secular Values", where Emancipative Values provide the main variable behind his theory of human empowerment.[14]

The WVS has over the years demonstrated that people’s beliefs play a key role in economic development, the emergence and flourishing of democratic institutions, the rise of gender equality, and the extent to which societies have effective government. Some of the key findings of the work are described below.

 

Inglehart–Welzel Cultural Map

The map presents empirical evidence of massive cultural change and the persistence of distinctive cultural traditions. Main thesis holds that socioeconomic development is linked with a broad syndrome of distinctive value orientations. Analysis of WVS data made by political scientists Ronald Inglehart and Christian Welzel asserts that there are two major dimensions of cross cultural variation in the world:

 

1) Traditional values versus Secular-rational values and

 

2) Survival values versus Self-expression values.

 

Traditional values emphasize the importance of religion, parent-child ties, deference to authority and traditional family values. People who embrace these values also reject divorce, abortion, euthanasia and suicide. These societies have high levels of national pride and a nationalistic outlook.

Secular-rational values have the opposite preferences to the traditional values. These societies place less emphasis on religion, traditional family values and authority. Divorce, abortion, euthanasia and suicide are seen as relatively acceptable. (Suicide is not necessarily more common.)

The two dimensions have been created by running factor analysis over a set of ten indicators. The ten indicators used (five to tap each dimension) were chosen for technical reasons: in order to be able to compare findings across time, we used indicators that had been included in all four waves of the Values Surveys. These ten indicators reflect only a handful of the many beliefs and values that these two dimensions tap, and they are not necessarily the most sensitive indicators of these dimensions. They do a good job of tapping two extremely important dimensions of cross-cultural variation, but we should bear in mind that these specific items are only indicators of much broader underlying dimensions of cross-cultural variation [Source: Chapter 2 from Inglehart, R & C. The global cultural map (below) shows how scores of societies are located on these two dimensions.

Moving upward on this map reflects the shift from Traditional values to Secular-rational and moving rightward reflects the shift from Survival values to Self-expression values. A somewhat simplified analysis is that following an increase in standards of living, and a transit from development country via industrialization to post-industrial knowledge society, a country tends to move diagonally in the direction from lower-left corner (poor) to upper-right corner (rich), indicating a transit in both dimensions.

However, the attitudes among the population are also highly correlated with the philosophical, political and religious ideas that have been dominating in the country. Secular-rational values and materialism were formulated by philosophers and the left-wing politics side in the French revolution, and can consequenlty be observed especially in countries with a long history of social democratic or socialistic policy, and in countries where a large portion of the population have studied philisophy and science at universities. Survival values are characteristic for eastern-world countries and self-expression values for western-world countries. In a liberal post-industrial economy, an increasing share of the population has grown up taking survival and freedom of thought for granted, resulting in that self-expression is highly valued.

In a huge defeat for the U.S. Department of Justice, a jury today acquitted two men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in the fall of 2020 and deadlocked on a verdict for two other defendants. The verdicts were announced at the Gerald R. Ford Federal Building in Grand Rapids after more than four days of deliberations; jurors heard 13 days of testimony in a case the government considered one of its biggest domestic terrorism investigations ever.

 

Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta of Michigan were found not guilty of conspiring “to unlawfully seize, confine, kidnap, abduct and carry away, and hold for ransom and reward, or otherwise, the Governor of the State of Michigan.” Jurors could not reach a unanimous decision for Adam Fox, the alleged ringleader, and Barry Croft, Jr., resulting in a mistrial.

 

Harris was also found not guilty on charges of conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction for allegedly attempting to build an explosive device to use in the abduction scheme and other firearms charges.

 

Jurors this morning notified Chief U.S. District Court Judge Robert Jonker that they had reached a verdict on several charges but were deadlocked on others. Jonker urged the jury of six men and six women to continue deliberating under a soft “Allen charge,” which instructs jurors to keep pushing for a unanimous verdict but they later notified Jonker the outcome was the same.

 

Defense attorneys had argued—successfully, it would appear—that their clients were entrapped by the FBI; at least a dozen FBI confidential human sources and undercover agents working out of numerous FBI field offices were deeply embedded in the plot.

 

Jonker ruled before the trial began on March 8 that defense counsel could not raise the entrapment issue until the government rested its case, but that plan was quickly scuttled when it became obvious the four defense attorneys were unable effectively to represent their clients without demonstrating the FBI’s extensive involvement. To prove entrapment, the defense had to convince the jury that the government induced the criminal behavior and the defendants lacked predisposition to carry out the kidnapping conspiracy on their own.

 

Against the objections of prosecutors, Jonker notified the jury last Friday they could consider entrapment. Jonker advised jurors to ask themselves whether “the agent or informant persuade[d] the defendant who is not already willing to commit a crime to do something illegal?”

 

A roster of FBI agents and experts took the stand during the three-week trial, which was temporarily delayed due to one participant’s COVID diagnosis; Dan Chappel, the lead informant and government’s star witness known as “Big Dan,” explained how he brought the makeshift group of alleged “militia” members together after he was hired by the FBI in March 2020. Chappel created encrypted chat groups and organized excursions for field training and surveillance of Whitmer’s cottage. (He, along with other FBI informants, posed as leaders of two “militia” groups, at least one of which was created by the FBI.)

For his work over a six-month period, Chappel, a truck driver for a U.S. Postal Service subcontractor, was compensated at least $60,000 by the FBI in cash and gifts such as a new laptop, tires, and a smart watch.

 

Prosecutors mostly relied on conversations secretly recorded by FBI assets as evidence of wrongdoing; two men charged in the same indictment had pleaded guilty and testified for the government in exchange for lighter prison sentences.

 

Jurors heard defendants make inflammatory, and on some occasions, violent comments about the Democratic governor, who is up for re-election this year. Foxl lived at the time in the dilapidated cellar of a Grand Rapids vacuum repair shop with no running water or toilet; Chappel texted Fox at least 1,000 times between June and early October, cultivating a close relationship with the otherwise friendless and sparsely-employed outcast. On at least five occasions, Chappel offered Fox a $5,000 credit card, which Fox repeatedly refused.

 

In his closing remarks last Friday, assistant U.S. Attorney Nils Kessler dismissed defense arguments that the evidence merely amounted to “crazy talk” by disgruntled misfits high on marijuana. “In America, there’s a lot of things you can do. You can criticize the government publicly, absolutely,” Kessler told jurors. “If you don’t like elected leaders, you can vote them out at the ballot box. What you can’t do is kidnap them, kill them, or blow them up. It wasn’t just talk.”

 

But defense attorneys angrily condemned the FBI’s sting operation. “When I look at what happened in this case, I am ashamed of the behavior of the leading law enforcement agency in the United States,” Joshua Blanchard, Croft’s public defender, said during his closing argument. Christopher Gibbons, Fox’s public defender, called the government’s conduct “unacceptable in America. That’s not how it works. They don’t make terrorists so we can arrest them.”

 

The case produced damaging headlines for Donald Trump in October 2020 just as millions of Americans were already voting for president, including in the crucial swing state of Michigan. During a dramatic speech on October 8, 2020, Whitmer blamed Trump for “stoking distrust, fomenting anger, and giving comfort to those who spread fear and hatred” and for refusing to condemn “hate groups like these two Michigan militia groups.” Joe Biden accused Trump of sending “dog whistles” to white supremacist militias, later telling reporters it was “despicable” and “beneath the office of the presidency” that Trump allegedly encouraged the would-be kidnappers.

 

Biden also thanked the FBI for a job well done—but the agency has been mired in scandal related to the case ever since. Richard Trask, the special agent in charge at the Detroit FBI field office, was fired last summer after he was arrested for assaulting his wife in a drunken rage following a swingers party. Reporters also found anti-Trump sentiment on Trask’s Facebook page.

 

Two other FBI agents who handled Chappel were removed from the government’s witness list amid accusations of unethical conduct. Stephen Robeson, a longtime FBI informant and convicted felon, also was fired for committing at least two other crimes while working on the Whitmer investigation. Known to the defendants as “Steve,” Robeson coordinated numerous events including a militia conference in Dublin, Ohio in June 2020 and training exercises in his home state of Wisconsin. After the government accused him of acting as a “double agent” and Robeson threatened to plead the Fifth, Judge Jonker denied defense counsel’s motion to compel his testimony.

 

Harris and Caserta, who have been incarcerated since their arrests in October 2020, were released from custody. Fox and Croft will remain in prison as the government decides its next move.

Again, we have the Post stating as flat-fact what is really slanted propaganda. Though “blame-Putin” has been at the center of Official Washington’s false narrative on Ukraine from the beginning, the reality was always that the West the United States and the European Union provoked this crisis, not Putin and Russia.

 

The crisis emanated from the EU’s reckless offer of an economic association agreement to Ukraine that President Yanukovych weighed but ultimately rejected because it came with a draconian International Monetary Fund austerity package attached. The Russians offered a more generous $15 billion loan and also provided energy subsidies for Ukrainians.

 

Yanukovych’s decision to opt for what he considered a better deal for Ukraine was well within his rights as the elected president, but his choice touched off furious demonstrations led by western Ukrainians and openly encouraged by senior U.S. officials, including Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Victoria Nuland.

 

When Yanukovych refused to reverse his decision, the protests turned violent with well-trained neo-Nazi militias, organized in groups of one-hundred fighters each, moving to the fore to battle police. In the violence, both protesters and police were killed, though the typical treatment in the New York Times and much of the U.S. press was to simply report falsely that all the victims were protesters. On Feb. 21, seeking to stanch the violence, Yanukovych signed an agreement guaranteed by three European countries Germany, France and Poland to surrender many of his powers and accept early elections so he could be voted out of office. The elections would have tested popular opinion on the EU’s package while maintaining the Ukrainian constitutional structure.

 

Yanukovych also agreed to pull back the police, a move that opened the way for the neo-Nazi militias to seize government buildings and force pro-Yanukovych officials to run for their lives. With these storm troopers patrolling government buildings, the remnants of the shaken parliament cobbled together a new regime led by Assistant Secretary Nuland’s personal choice, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who became prime minister.

 

The neo-Nazis got a share of ministries with their top commander Andriy Parubiy made chief of Ukraine’s national security to reward them for their service to the coup and in recognition that these militias might otherwise turn on the fragile new regime and seize power for themselves. Reflecting Western Ukraine’s hostility toward Eastern Ukraine, the parliament took actions offensive to ethnic Russians including a vote to ban Russian as an official language throughout the country (though that plan was later rescinded).

 

Resistance to the Coup

The stunning developments in Kiev led Crimea’s local government to organize a hasty referendum on leaving Ukraine and rejoining Russia, a choice approved by more than 90 percent of voters. Putin and the Russian government agreed.

 

Though the U.S. media carried lurid headlines about a Russian “invasion,” the articles strangely lacked any photographs of tanks crossing borders, paratroopers jumping from planes or an amphibious landing. The reason for the absence of these photos was that thousands of Russian troops were already stationed in Crimea (under an agreement with Ukraine giving Russia access to its historic naval base at Sevastopol). The Russian troops simply left their bases and engineered a largely peaceful transfer of power.

 

The political resistance in the East and South and the unwillingness of Ukrainian soldiers to fire on fellow Ukrainians also led the new national security chief Parubiy to incorporate the neo-Nazi militias into National Guard units and dispatch them to the front lines….

Crews on scene of major fire at scrapyard in Palmetto

 

NORTH MANATEE COUNTY, Fla — Crews have responded to a major fire at a scrap metal facility next to Port Manatee and U.S. 41.

A giant plume of smoke and fire could be seen from US 41.

Officials with Hillsborough Fire Rescue said explosions have been heard and flames over 100 feet have shot into the air.

According to the Manatee County Government Public Safety Department, the North River Fire Department and several other agencies are working to extinguish the fire.

At this point, there is no threat to the surrounding areas.

I concur with this post due to other similar shit I've read around the interweb as well as my own personal anecdotes. Psychologists can predict geniuses very accurately by the time a child is ~7. One interview I saw, I think on here, was a knowledgeable man on the Khazar infiltration tactics. Once you indoctrinate a child by ~7, they are unlikely to change course from that molding (neuroplasticity) for the rest of their lives.

Judge Dies by Suicide Amid Tax Probe, Legal Woes for Close Friend Allegedly Tied to Organized Crime: Reports

A western New York judge who reportedly laid on railroad tracks last year and waited for a slow-moving freight train to pass over him has died by suicide, according to Buffalo CBS affiliate WIVB and the New York Times. Federal agents had searched the judge’s home last month, and a former client and friend was recently charged federally, both news organizations noted.

 

The cause of death for Acting State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski, 61, is unclear in the available news reports. The New York Times said Michalski was found dead at his home.

 

In New York State, the Supreme Court is a trial court of general jurisdiction; it is akin to a superior court system in other states. The highest court in New York is called the Court of Appeals.

 

The client who appears connected to the federal probe, according to WIVB, is Peter G. Gerace, Jr., a man who operates a gentleman’s club in Cheektowaga. The TV station said “[l]aw enforcement raided the club in December 2019.”

 

“Two sources told News 4 Investigates last year that the Geraces are close friends with the Michalskis,” the television station reported. “In fact, Michalski married Gerace and his former wife, Katrina Nigro, in September 2014, according to the marriage certificate.”

 

Buffalo NBC affiliate WGRZ spoke with Nigro in 2021. She alleged that the club was a known site for “drug dealing” and that Gerace was a “drug dealer (and) sex trafficker.” Gerace’s lawyers suggested to WGRZ that Nigro was lying.

 

The WGRZ piece also noted the connections between Michalski and Gerace.

 

On Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, Michalski laid on the railroad tracks at the Depew Amtrak station at around 11:43 a.m., WIVB said. A group of train buffs saw what happened next.

 

“He was on the platform basically looking back and forth to see if there was a train coming, which kind of did look a bit weird,” Alex told the TV station (but asked that his last name not be broadcast). “I thought he might have been a rail fan like us, but I had a little bit of concern when he walked out onto the tracks and when he lay on the tracks, I was like ‘oh, no, this isn’t good.'”

 

Alex recorded on video what happened next. The TV station only broadcast some of it because the judge was injured when a freight train passed over him. A hospital told WIVB that Michalski suffered a “serious leg injury.”

 

WIVB sued after it received only a heavily redacted police report and no official video regarding the incident. A judge determined that because the material involved a suicide attempt that it should be sealed for privacy concerns.

 

The same day Michalski laid on the railroad tracks, Gerace was arrested in Florida. The Miami Herald described Gerace as a “nephew of reputed Buffalo mob boss Joseph A. Todaro Jr.,” as did another Florida newspaper; and the Buffalo News immediately noted that the federal prosecution was part of a federal probe into alleged organized crime.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to Kyiv on Saturday as several foreign allies announced they would reopen embassies in the capital - a diplomatic show of support as Russia named a new general to oversee its war in Ukraine.

A press release from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General describes the Gerace arrest:

 

"On February 28, 2021, the owner of Pharaoh’s Gentlemen’s Club in Buffalo, New York was arrested in Florida following a superseding Indictment charging him with one count each of bribery of a public official, conspiracy to defraud the United States, maintaining a drug involved premises, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. According to the Indictment, at various times between in or about 2005 and in or about 2019, Peter Gerace paid a former DEA Special Agent in exchange for the former DEA Special Agent taking various actions to shield Gerace and his business from narcotics and sex trafficking investigations by law enforcement agencies, including the DEA and FBI. The investigation is being conducted by the OIG’s New York Field Office, HSI, and the FBI."

 

The federal superseding indictment which named Gerace alleged that Joseph Bongiovanni, a Drug Enforcement Administration agent, “had friends and associates who he knew were involved in possession, use, distribution, and importation of controlled substances.”

 

“The defendant BONGIOVANNI’s friends and associates who were involved in possession, use, and distribution, and importation of controlled substances, included, among others, individuals he believed to be members of, connected to, or associated with Italian Organized Crime (IOC) in the Western District of New York and elsewhere,” the document continued. “It was part of the conspiracy that, in order to build trust and maintain continuity with his coconspirators, the defendant BONGIOVANNI did not investigate his friends and associates and used his position as a DEA SA in Buffalo, New York, to shield his friends and associates, and others, including the defendant GERACE, from criminal investigations.”

 

Gerace has denied wrongdoing, and the Buffalo News reported that Gerace was “insulted” that the feds were attempting to link him to organized crime.

 

“My grandfather was Joseph Todaro. He’s dead,” Gerace told the publication while reportedly “raising his hands in exasperation.”

 

It is with that backdrop that the judge’s reported suicide occurred. WIVB reported that “federal authorities had questioned Michalski on his relationship with Peter Gerace.” After the railroad incident, Michalski’s caseload was reassigned, but it was eventually reinstated, the New York Times reported.

 

The judge’s home was searched in late March 2022 in connection with what WIVB described as possible “tax crimes involving an online business operated out of the home.”

 

The Buffalo News said attorney Anthony J. Lana, who represented Judge Michalski, said the raid involved a “minuscule business run by Mrs. Michalski.”

 

“It’s a very small consignment business, selling jewelry, clothes and various knickknacks on eBay,” Lana told the newspaper. “The amount of money involved is very small . . . pocket change.”

 

“Michalski was never charged with any crimes,” WIVB noted.

 

Another Michalski attorney, Terrence Connors, told the New York Times that “it would be difficult to find a judge who was more respected” in western New York State. Connors was described as a “longtime friend” to the judge.

Maher: Federal Health Officials Seem to Have Political Stance Where They Pretend Dissenters Are Quacks

 

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said that the way federal health officials have handled coronavirus “looks politicized. It looks like we have our science and anybody else…we just pretend that they’re a quack” even if they’re other doctors.

 

After reading a quotation from New York Times Senior Writer David Leonhardt on misconceptions regarding how expert opinion and science work, Maher stated, “And this is sort of the case I’ve been making, like, whose science? Like, of course, the chip in the vaccine is insane, but the FDA’s two top vaccine experts resigned. Because they said, you’re not following what we found out about boosters, you’re recommending them and we told you not to. It looks politicized. It looks like we have our science and anybody else can just — we just pretend that they’re a quack. And these aren’t quacks. These are other doctors.”

 

Leonhardt responded, “Science is hard.”

 

Maher added, “Especially medical science, we don’t know shit.”

 

Leonhardt added that debate is a key part of science and that there are some issues around coronavirus policy that aren’t issues of science, but are really issues of tradeoffs and values.

The Ukrainian president has refused to divulge who exactly the politician was

 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that an EU member state’s leader called into question Kiev’s version of events surrounding the Bucha killings, asking for proof that the atrocities were not staged.

 

Speaking to German newspaper Bild on Friday, Zelensky described how a leading EU politician asked him for evidence proving that the Bucha massacre had not been staged. The remark came after the Bild journalist asked what the worst thing he had heard in recent days was. When the interviewer probed further, asking whether it was the head of state of an EU nation, Zelensky replied in the affirmative, though he refused to name the official.

 

Ukraine claims Russian troops committed atrocities against civilians in the town of Bucha northwest of Kiev before retreating last week. Russia has rejected the accusations, and claims Kiev manipulated evidence in what it calls a “provocation.”

 

Commenting on Berlin’s support for Kiev, the Ukrainian president lamented Germany’s apparent lack of enthusiasm for tougher sanctions against Russia.

 

“Some countries, and Germany is among them, are against an oil and gas embargo,” Zelensky said, adding, however, that he was content that the EU’s fifth round of sanctions “contains the coal and timber embargo.” He also accused Berlin of being overly cautious in its support for Kiev, refusing to provide the country with weapons for some time, and stressing that Ukraine would not become a NATO member state. But, according to Zelensky, “Germany’s rhetoric has changed” over time, despite the country being “conservative and cold.”

 

Asked if he was prepared to sit down with Russian President

Vladimir Putin and talk, Zelensky said, “today Ukraine has no way out other than to sit down at the negotiating table.” He added that “no one else in Russia has the power to stop this war,” as Putin is the only one who “decides when this war will end.”

 

The Russian and Ukrainian negotiating teams have been engaged in talks for weeks now, in both face-to-face and virtual meetings. While the two nations have apparently come close to an agreement on certain topics, such as Ukraine’s future neutral status, they still have not been able to find common ground on others. Last week, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Putin was ready to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, but only after the negotiators had finalized a document.

 

Moscow attacked the neighboring state in late February, following Ukraine’s failure to implement the terms of the Minsk agreements signed in 2014, and Russia’s eventual recognition of the Donbass republics in Donetsk and Lugansk. The German and French brokered Minsk Protocol was designed to regularize the status of the regions within the Ukrainian state.

 

Russia has since demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join the US-led NATO military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked and has denied claims it was planning to retake the two republics by force.

State Supreme Court Judge: New York City Illegally Canceled Trump Contract

 

Former NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio attempted to terminate the Trump Organization’s contract to run the Ferry Point Golf Course.

 

He cited January 6th as the reason for the cancellation — saying that the golf course’s image was tarnished as a result.

 

From NYC.gov in January 2021:

 

Mayor Bill de Blasio today announced that the City of New York is taking steps to terminate three Trump Organization agreements with the City after last week’s deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

 

The Administration will be notifying the Trump Organization that the City will begin the process to cancel its agreements to operate the Central Park Carousel, Wollman and Lasker skating rinks, and Ferry Point Golf Course in accordance with the steps outlined in the contracts.

 

“The President incited a rebellion against the United States government that killed five people and threatened to derail the constitutional transfer of power,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. “The City of New York will not be associated with those unforgivable acts in any shape, way or form, and we are immediately taking steps to terminate all Trump Organization contracts.”

 

A judge in New York just ruled that the contract was canceled illegally.

 

Eric Trump blasted De Blasio for canceling the contract, saying “De Blasio did this for his own political theater.”

 

The New York Post reported:

 

A state Supreme Court judge ruled Friday that the city did not have the right to cancel Trump’s contract to run the Ferry Point Golf Course. Mayor Bill de Blasio had nixed the deal after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, arguing that Trump would not be able to attract golf tournaments.

 

In her decision and order filed on Friday, Justice Debra James said there was nothing in the contract that required a tournament — only that the city would share in any proceeds. That means either Trump gets to continue to run the course, or the city needs to pay him to leave. Trump’s son Eric said they’ll stay.

 

“The judge didn’t buy their nonsense and this is a well-reasoned and appropriate decision and we look forward to running the best golf course for years to come,” Eric Trump said.

Boris Johnson Makes Surprise Trip To War-Torn Ukraine For Zelensky Meeting

 

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson showed up in the Ukrainian capital Saturday, in a bold surprise visit made public for the first time in photographs posted to government accounts showing the face-to-face meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

 

Zelensky's office confirmed on Facebook that he and Johnson met. "Right now Boris Johnson’s visit to Kiev began with a tet-a-tet meeting with President Zelensky. Great Britain is a leader in defense support of Ukraine. The leader in the anti-war coalition. Leader in sanctions on Russian aggressor," a statement said.

 

Zelensky in his own social media post revealing the meeting, called Johnson "one of the most principled opponents of the Russian invasion" and a "leader in sanctions pressure."

 

And the UK's embassy in Ukraine posted an image of the two leaders holding discussions in a small room with the word "surprise".

 

The British prime minister's office said Johnson went there in person, even as a major war is happening, in order to show "solidarity with the Ukrainian people." The statement further said, "They will discuss the UK's long-term support to Ukraine and the PM will set out a new package of financial and military aid."

 

The day prior, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Commission Vice President Josep Borrell Fontelles were inside Ukraine to meet with Zelensky, and even had a battlefield tour of sorts.

GOP Rep Urges Arizonians To ‘HELP STOP SEXUAL GROOMING IN ARIZONA SCHOOLS’

 

Arizona Republican Rep. Jake Hoffman is urging the public to pressure lawmakers to advance HB 2495, a bill aimed at barring public schools from indoctrinating and grooming students with “sexually explicit materials” at taxpayer expense.

 

Hoffman crafted the measure after discovering books and other materials at school laden with sexual activity. Arizona congressman even uncovered drawings of children having sex or masturbating.

 

HB 2495 would ban schools from disseminating any materials that depict “sexual conduct” including “acts of masturbation, homosexuality (and) sexual intercourse.”

 

While the measure exempts “classical literature” and “early American literature,” it requires parents to provide approval allowing their children to read the materials that contain sexually explicit content.

 

Hoffman issued a statement calling on Americans to “HELP STOP SEXUAL GROOMING IN ARIZONA SCHOOLS” by sending an email “to every member of the Arizona Senate in less than 60 seconds” via the website Align Act.

NATO Agrees To Provide 'New & Heavier' Weapons To Ukraine After Czech Tanks Arrive

 

During a meeting at NATO headquarters in Brussels among the alliance's foreign ministers on Thursday, the US and UK led the way in forging a fresh agreement to give Ukraine "new and heavier" weapons, at a moment a limited number of Czech-provided Soviet-designed T-72M tanks have already been transferred to Kiev - reportedly with the quiet assistance of Washington.

 

"There was support for countries to supply new and heavier equipment to Ukraine, so that they can respond to these new threats from Russia," British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said at a press briefing.

 

Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that the US is "looking across the board right now, not only at what we have provided … and whether there are additional systems that would make a difference." The latest cutting edge weaponry the Pentagon has transferred to Ukraine has included Switchblade drones, which are low-cost Kamikaze drones capable of destroying armored vehicles and tanks in the more advanced version of the system.

 

However, Blinken hasn't specified which "heavier" weapons the US would be willing to send. So far any efforts to transfer jets or tanks has been met with inter-alliance resistance given it would likely put NATO and Russia on a more direct collision course. This as on Friday Slovakia announced it has "donated" an S-300 air defense system to Ukraine.

 

Weapon shipments have also so far included Javelin ant-tank and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles. But the Ukrainian government has persistently lobbied for more, often with emotional language - such as Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba's appeal to NATO this week: "The more weapons we get and the sooner they arrive in Ukraine, the more human lives will be saved," he said.

 

Ahead of the foreign ministers meeting, Kubela met with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels, stating on Twitter that he had urged the "three most important things" for Ukrainians are "weapons, weapons, weapons."

 

So far Brussels appears to have responded positively. the UK's Truss has signaled that NATO is looking to go beyond the older Soviet-designed systems currently being given to Ukraine's military. This after all is what its forces are trained on and are efficient in. "We agreed to help Ukrainian forces move from their Soviet-era equipment to NATO standard equipment, on a bilateral basis," she said.

 

FM Kuleba has responded by saying he's "cautiously optimistic" NATO will meet the demands for more. "I was very specific about the requests and the timeline that they should be accommodated. I will be looking forward to the follow-up from allies," he said.

Moscow claims Kiev will stage an event in Irpin to manipulate Western media

 

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed on Saturday that Ukraine will use the bodies of captured Russian soldiers to manipulate Western reporters in Irpin, a town near Kiev. Ukraine previously accused Moscow of killing hundreds of civilians in the area around the capital, which Russia denies.

 

Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said Kiev is “preparing another provocation with the goal of accusing Russia of mass killings of civilians.”

 

Konashenkov claimed that Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officials are planning to take the bodies of people who “died from Ukrainian artillery” from a morgue to the basement of one of the buildings on the eastern outskirts of Irpin.

 

“The SBU will then stage the ‘neutralization’ of a ‘Russian reconnaissance unit’ at the Pushcha-Vodytsia forest, which will [according to Kiev] arrive in Irpin to ‘kill the witnesses of Russia’s war crimes.’”

 

The spokesman claimed that the Ukrainian forces will present the “bodies of captured Russian soldiers, who had been tortured and killed by nationalists” as “evidence” to the Western media.

 

Ukraine earlier accused Russian troops of killing more than 400 civilians in Bucha, also near the capital. EU officials and foreign reporters were shown what Kiev said were mass graves and bodies of people shot execution style. Moscow has denied any involvement in the deaths, insisting that the killings happened after its forces retreated from the area late last month.

Lockdowns, Not the Pandemic, Created Havoc

 

A recent study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) surveyed thousands of high school students on the effects of the pandemic. “Since the beginning of the pandemic,” the study reports, “more than half of students found it more difficult to complete their schoolwork (66%) and experienced emotional abuse by a parent or other adult in their home (55%),” which correlated heavily with students who “experienced insecurity via parental job loss (29%), personal job loss (22%), and hunger (24%).”

 

A related CDC study, released the same day, examined the effects the pandemic has had on the mental health of high school students. It found that “during the 12 months before the survey, 44.2% experienced persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, 19.9% had seriously considered attempting suicide, and 9.0% had attempted suicide.”

 

These findings should be no surprise. Only a few months into the pandemic, the CDC’s morbidity and mortality report surveyed people of all ages regarding substance abuse and suicidal thoughts, and young people showed the most dramatic increase compared with precovid surveys. This report was all but ignored, of course, as the demagogues in politics and the media predicted Armageddon if the world didn’t embrace their draconian isolation policies.

 

Now that the Chicken Littles have come home to roost, the real question is whether the findings of these studies are the consequence of the pandemic or the response to it. One CDC representative, speaking of the studies, provided a revealing answer to this question: “This really gives us the evidence to say with certainty that the pandemic was incredibly disruptive for young people and their families” (emphasis added). The “pandemic took a toll,” according to every media headline reporting on the studies.

 

To some, the distinction between the pandemic and the lockdowns may seem like splitting hairs, but the choice of words can have important consequences on present and future policies. The logic behind the social-distancing mandates has been that such policies are necessary to lessen the severity of the pandemic. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence that the lockdowns have proven ineffective, the faithful will always find ways to dismiss the naysayers and urge even more severe mandates (the problem is that we haven’t isolated enough!).

 

If, as the media and researchers claim, it is the pandemic taking such a toll on young people, then it seems to justify even more authoritarian responses to the virus. Lock down harder! Isolate further! Punish violators more severely! The lockdowners, like Mrs. Lovejoy, need only cry “think of the children” and the effects the pandemic is having on them to drive support for the very policies that, in reality, are responsible for the problems they aim to solve.

A government watchdog is demanding the US Attorney probing Hunter Biden in Delaware investigate tens of millions in anonymous donations from China to the University of Pennsylvania, where an academic center is named for his father, President Biden.

 

The Ivy League college raked in a total of $54.6 million from 2014 through June 2019 in donations from China, including $23.1 million in anonymous gifts starting in 2016, according to public records.

 

Most of the anonymous donations came after the university announced in February 2017 that it would create the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement. Joe Biden, whose term as vice president had just ended, was to lead the center and was also named a professor at the university.

 

The center, which is located in Washington, DC., opened its doors in February 2018. Antony Blinken, whom Biden named as Secretary of State, briefly served as its managing director.

 

The Ivy League university received $15.8 million in anonymous Chinese gifts that year, including one eye-popping $14.5 million donation in May 2018, records show.

 

The flurry of donations may be related to Hunter Biden’s business interests in China, the National Legal and Policy Center, a Virginia-based watchdog, alleged in complaints sent in May and October 2020 to the Departments of Education and Justice.

 

Last week, the group asked US Attorney David Weiss to step in and investigate the Chinese largesse to the school as part of his federal tax probe of Hunter Biden.

 

“We’ve asked … Weiss to pursue the larger network of individuals and institutions who benefited from millions doled out by foreign interests connected to Hunter Biden’s work in China and Ukraine,” said Tom Anderson, director of the NLPC’s Government Integrity Project.

 

In its 12-page complaint, the watchdog cited a 2017 text found on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop that CEFC China Energy Co, one of the firms that Hunter Biden had a financial stake in, wanted to lobby politicians in the US but did not want to register under the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA), required for all foreign lobbyists.

Former Democrat Congressional Staffer Pleads Guilty to Stealing $80,000 in Public Funds

 

A former Capitol Hill staffer who served under Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.) has pled guilty for fraudulently stealing around $80,000 from the federal government.

 

The staffer, 24-year-old Sterling Carter, “pleaded guilty today to theft of public funds in connection with his scheme to fraudulently inflate his salary and bonus payments, thereby paying himself more than he was legitimately owed,” the Department of Justice (DOJ) said in a press release.

 

According to the DOJ, Carter was responsible for managing the payroll in Schneider’s office, and he used that position to give himself unauthorized payouts from public funds.

 

“Carter concealed this theft from the Congressperson and the office’s Chief of Staff by falsely representing, in both communications and a budget spreadsheet, that he was only being paid what he was legitimately owed,” the DOJ said.

 

The theft was discovered after an FBI investigation. In Carter’s criminal charging papers (pdf) Frank G. D’Amico, the FBI agent in charge of the investigation, explained the situation further.

 

“From August 2019 to January 2021, [Carter] worked as the Director of Operations for the congressional office of … an elected Member of the U.S. House of Representatives,” D’Amico said.

 

“[Schneider’s] Chief of Staff, in consultation with [Schneider], was responsible for determining employees’ salaries, whether an employee should receive a bonus, and the dollar amount of any bonus to be paid out,” the complaint continued. “Only [Schneider and his chief of staff] could authorize salary increases or bonuses for employees.

 

“To effectuate a salary increase, CARTER, as Director of Operations, had to fill out and process a Payroll Authorization Form (PAF). The PAF would reflect the employee’s new annual salary and the date on which the salary change would take effect.”

 

According to the case documents, Carter fraudulently affixed Schneider’s names to several documents that would grant Carter bonus pay.

 

“Between November 2019 and January 21, 2021, in the District of Columbia, CARTER fraudulently filled out, signed, and submitted unauthorized [bonus pay forms] causing [the House of Representatives Office of Payroll and Benefits] to pay CARTER approximately $80,491.67 in unauthorized payments from Congressperson A’s MRA.”

 

For example, in one unauthorized PAF effective Nov. 1, 2019, Carter temporarily raised his annual salary from $54,000 to $138,000, resulting in a bonus of around $6,000 for the month.

 

With his guilty plea, Carter will now await a sentencing hearing, set to take place on July 28. The felony crime could land him in prison for as long as 10 years.

 

Until he’s sentenced, Carter will remain out of detention under the High Intensity Supervision Program (HISP), where he will remain under tight supervision to ensure that he does not attempt to flee.

With the mid-term election just over 6 months away, why isn’t Joe Biden campaigning for the Democrats up for election? He should at least be campaigning for the more competitive races if he’s actually in his right mind and if the Democrats have a snowball’s chance at winning certain races. WASHINGTON — The Trump administration on Friday rolled out a hyper-ambitious plan to develop and manufacture hundreds of millions of Covid-19 vaccine doses by the end of 2020, outlining an aggressive process that, if successful, would shatter conventional wisdom about the typical process for developing vaccines for emerging infectious diseases.

 

At a Rose Garden press conference, the president and his deputies acknowledged their goal, dubbed “Operation Warp Speed,” was lofty. Trump said the project was “risky and expensive.” Gustave Perna, a four-star general who oversees logistics for the U.S. Army, called the task “Herculean.” Moncef Slaoui, the pharmaceutical executive Trump has appointed to lead the initiative, said the goal was “extremely challenging.”

 

The rollout highlights an overt shift in the White House’s messaging on vaccines. Anthony Fauci, the federal government’s top infectious disease researcher, has long warned Americans that, even optimistically, developing a Covid-19 vaccine would take between 12 and 18 months. Even that timeline, Fauci has said, would represent something of a biomedical miracle.

 

The Trump administration’s scientific muscle, however, was notably silent. During his remarks, the president was flanked by three physician-researchers: Fauci; Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response coordinator; and Francis Collins, the director of the National Institutes of Health.

 

The three doctors were the only federal officials who appeared on stage wearing masks. None spoke at any point during the press conference.

 

Instead, it was Slaoui, the former GlaxoSmithKline executive who Trump has appointed to lead the vaccine initiative, who delivered yet another strikingly confident prediction.

 

“Mr. President, I have very recently seen early data from a clinical trial with a coronavirus vaccine,” he said to applause. “These data make me feel even more confident that we will be able to deliver a few hundred million doses of vaccine by the end of 2020.”

 

Slaoui, who resigned his position on the board of the drug manufacturer Moderna to accept the government appointment, was likely referencing the company’s Covid-19 vaccine candidate, which was the first in the U.S. to enter a Phase 1 clinical trial.

 

According to federal financial disclosures, he still holds over 156,000 Moderna stock options, worth over $10 million at the company’s current stock price, creating a potential conflict of interest if the company’s vaccine is the first to be proven effective. Numerous progressive groups in Washington have already criticized Trump over Slaoui’s appointment.

 

The project will rely in part on allowing drug manufacturers to begin scaling up their manufacturing efforts prior to receiving approvals regarding a potential vaccine’s effectiveness, officials said.

 

Trump, separately, delivered a markedly optimistic message in terms of the vaccine’s price.

 

“The last thing anybody’s looking for is profit,” he said.

 

He said that the U.S. would work with foreign governments to distribute a Covid-19 vaccine regardless of which companies, or which countries, are first across the finish line. The federal government, he said, has “no ego” regarding vaccine development.

 

“We want to get to the solution,” Trump said. “We know exactly where the other countries are, and we’ll be very happy if they are able to do it. We’ll help them with delivery, we’ll help them with it in every way we can.”

 

The pledge, he indicated, even applies to China, the country where Covid-19 was first identified. Trump has repeatedly expressed anger over China’s handling of the outbreak in early 2020, casting doubts on its reported death toll, blaming its government for not containing the virus within its borders, and even labeling Covid-19 the “Chinese virus.”

 

The new initiative is the latest sign of the federal government’s far-reaching efforts to accelerate research into coronavirus tests, treatments, and vaccines. Those initiatives, in some cases, have tested the practical boundaries of biomedical research. To date, the U.S. government has announced a “Shark Tank”-like competition to develop new Covid-19 diagnostics and a series of partnerships with drug companies on both therapeutics and vaccines.

 

Yet Trump also warned that his plans to reopen the U.S. economy are not contingent on the development of a vaccine.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins died early Saturday morning after he was hit by a dump truck near Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was 24.

 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Haskins was walking on a "limited access facility (highway/expressway) for unknown reasons" around 6:37 a.m. The FHP said he was attempting to cross westbound lanes of Interstate 595 when he was hit by a dump truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene, per the FHP, and traffic homicide investigators were on the scene.

 

"I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins," Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said in a statement Saturday. "He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community.

Haskins signed with the Steelers in January 2021 but did not see any action during the 2021 season. He was in Florida training with other Steelers skill position players – quarterback Mitch Trubisky, running back Najee Harris and tight end Pat Freiermuth.

 

Haskins was a standout at Ohio State and in 2018, his only season as a starter, threw 50 touchdown passes, earning Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honors and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.

 

He was drafted with the 15th overall pick by Washington in the 2019 NFL draft. Haskins played in nine games his rookie season, throwing seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. In his second season, he threw for five touchdowns before being released in December 2020.

 

"We are devastated to hear the news of the tragic passing of Dwayne Haskins, Jr. He was a young man with a tremendous amount of potential who had an infectious personality," Commanders owners Dan and Tanya Snyder said in a statement. "To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. Our hearts and prayers are with the members of Dwayne's family and all of those who knew him and loved him."
