I left the restaurant and noticed no cars in the parking lot, so I crossed through the parking lot and onto the grass covered by a large shadowing tree towards the corner light to cross the street. as I approached the corner there was a 2-3 story purple trimmed Victorian style home structure.

I was invited into home and was surrounded on the first floor by apartments with 2 sets of stairs 1 leading down and 1 leading up. I took the ones down at first and was met by a large cavern of tunnels and kids running back and forth throughout the tunnels. quite odd. so I made my way to the upper floor and found myself in the midst of a large ballroom gathering. Not interested in the event , i made my way to the roof and with the help of others was able to get off the roof back to the ground and made my way to the corner. Then I awoke.

It's a psychological war, and you're expected to pick a side instead of thinking for yourself. That's the whole point; gaslight the ever living fuck out of you from both directions. Pres. Trump accelerated the timeline by paving way for the vaccine (Operation Warp Speed = Sci Fi reference). You were supposed to catch that right off the bat that it was "junk science" that only exists in the real of Science Fiction.

 

What was the point? Exposure, as always. Fight the mandates, and realize that forcing their hand with the distribution of the vaccine (Trump admin paving the way legally for them to distribute it) saved 10s of millions of lives in the long run. Remember, their plan was 100% outright total dominance and control. The vaccine was the Achilles Heel to the permanent global lockdown agenda. Understanding this, and why President Trump has pushed the vaccine every step of the way is key to understanding how the tip of the spear of discernment works in a psychological warfare scenario. Ultimately, exposing Big Pharma for the criminal organization they are, and reminding people to stand up for their rights in the greatest Republic the world has ever known is the entire point of this civics lesson.

Here’s something horrifying about the self-described co-founder of Earth Day: He murdered and composted his girlfriend.

 

The late environmental activist and self-proclaimed Earth Day co-founder Ira Einhorn had a dark side. Einhorn was found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend and stuffing her “composted” body inside a trunk, NBC News reported in 2011.

 

Helen “Holly” Maddux broke up with Einhorn after five years of being together. Enraged, he threatened to throw Maddux’s belongings onto the street if she didn’t come by to get them. She went to Einhorn’s apartment to retrieve them on Sept. 9, 1977, but was never seen again.

 

Maddux went missing after going out to the neighborhood co-op to buy tofu and sprouts, Einhorn told police several weeks later. However, 18 months later, authorities searched his apartment after neighbors complained that a “reddish-brown, foul-smelling liquid was leaking from the ceiling directly below Einhorn’s bedroom closet,” NBC News reported.

Former Central California water manager stole $25 million in water over 23 years, prosecutors say

 

The former general manager of a Central Valley water district has been charged with stealing more than $25 million worth of water over 23 years, the latest development in a years-long saga of corruption and theft, federal authorities said Thursday.

 

A federal grand jury returned a five-count indictment against 75-year-old Aptos resident Dennis Falaschi, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for the Eastern District of California.

 

He faces one count each of conspiracy and theft of government property, and three counts of filing false tax returns, according to the indictment.

 

Falaschi was the general manager for the Panoche Water District, which serves portions of Fresno and Merced counties near Dos Palos, Firebaugh and Los Banos, according to court documents.

 

The indictment does not name the water district, but in 2018, then-California Atty. Gen. Xavier Becerra announced the arrest and filing of felony charges against five individuals for the misuse of public funds amid widespread corruption at the district.

 

Falaschi is among the defendants in the ongoing state case.

The water theft scheme began in 1992, according to the federal indictment.

 

That year, Falaschi was informed that an aging, abandoned drain turnout on the Delta-Mendota Canal, part of the federal Central Valley Project, was leaking water into a parallel canal that the water district controlled, the document stated.

 

A gate inside a pipe that connected the two canals had been cemented shut years earlier when the drain was abandoned, but the cement had cracked, according to the indictment.

 

After learning about the leak, Falaschi allegedly told a water district employee to install a new gate inside the standpipe, which could be opened and closed on demand, the document stated. He later told the employee to put in a lid with a lock on top of the standpipe, and a roughly 2-foot elbow pipe angled at 90 degrees into the water district’s canal.

“The lid concealed the theft because it prevented people from seeing that the gate inside the standpipe was functional,” prosecutors said. “The elbow pipe further concealed and expedited the theft because it enclosed the water flow from the Delta-Mendota Canal into the water district’s canal and was installed in such a way that it was generally submerged under the water.”

 

Falaschi then told employees to use the new gate and pipe to steal federal water from the canal “on multiple occasions,” prosecutors said.

 

“He used the proceeds of the theft to pay himself and others exorbitant salaries, fringe benefits, and personal expense reimbursements,” prosecutors said.

 

The diverted water was unmetered and traveled to a water district pump station, where it was lifted into the district’s broader canal system, according to the indictment. It was combined with the district’s other water sources and either sold to customers or pumped back into the federal canal so the district could collect water credits.

 

During the scheme, Falaschi allegedly told water district employees to misclassify the stolen water as reclaimed runoff from farms in reports presented to the district’s board of directors, court documents stated.

 

In all, more than 130,000 acre-feet of water was stolen, according to the indictment.

 

An acre-foot is the amount of water needed to cover one acre of land in a foot of water and is the standard unit of measurement in the water industry.

 

An audit found prevalent and severe deficiencies in the Panoche Water District’s administrative and accounting controls from 2013 to 2015, according to a review released Tuesday by state Controller Betty Yee, shown in Sacramento on Dec. 19.

In April 2015, drought lowered the canals’ water level enough for the pipe, lid and drain turnout to be discovered by authorities, according to the indictment.

 

Federal authorities also alleged Falaschi falsified tax returns from 2015 to 2017 and failed to report over $900,000 in income to the Internal Revenue Service that he received from private water sales, according to court documents.

 

The federal case comes after state officials opened an ongoing criminal case against Falaschi and four other defendants.

 

In 2017, investigators discovered 86 drums holding thousands of gallons of hazardous waste illegally buried in a Panoche Water District yard, according to coverage of the state case by The Times.

 

The state’s case expanded to include allegations of misconduct that were revealed by an audit.

 

In a statement, Falaschi’s attorney Marc Days said his client plans to plead not guilty to the federal charges.

 

“We just received the indictment and need additional time to review it,” Days told The Times. “The indictment appears based on lies and misstatements.”

 

The attorney said he plans to make further comments on the case “in the very near future.”

 

If convicted on all federal charges, Falaschi faces a maximum sentence of 18 years in prison and up to $750,000 in fines, prosecutors said.

Disagree. Embracing some idea we're living in lawlessness because infiltrators are subverting the law is insanely stupid. The Constitution is the law of the land. The point is to call out the other side when they don't play by the rules, and remove them from power. This doesn't null and void the contract, and defense of said contract it is of utmost importance. If you haven't figured out, by now, there's an actual plan in place to teach a very valuable lesson of how apathy creates vulnerability in the Republic, then perhaps you're advice on how to combat it is a bit misguided. You can't have people running around with an "off the table" mentality. You can educate people on how to fight. Ideological homing is needed, not appeals to emotion that lead to the irrational.

Plane Crashes Near General Mills Food Plant Amid Outbreak Of Fires In Food Processing Facilities Across The Nation

 

A small plane killed two people as it crashed miles away from a General Mills plant in Georgia on Thursday night, exploding on impact and nearly demolishing the cereal manufacturer’s facility.

 

“Obviously this was a devastating crash and there are no survivors,” Covington police Capt. Ken Malcolm told reporters following the collision. “We are working on a lead to determine who the victims were in the crash.”

 

“According to witnesses, they believe the plane was having trouble gaining altitude. They could hear that there was engine trouble,” he continued. “Suddenly the plane veered to the right and immediately came straight down and crashed into the lot behind us. This is the General Mills plant that produces cereal here in our area. The plane went down in an isolated area here on the lot behind us in an area where they store tractor-trailers. The plane came down into four, what appear to be empty, trailers.”

 

“The fact that it didn’t crash into the plant, saved many lives,” Malcolm added. “Our job is to contain the scene, turn over the scene to the [Federal Aviation Administration].”

 

 

General Mills issued a statement following the incident, assuring, “No employees were harmed and we’re partnering with the FAA and local law enforcement.”

 

According to law enforcement officials, the aircraft, a Cessna twin-engine plane, crashed approximately 35 miles east of Atlanta in an isolated parking lot near an industrial plant off Interstate 20, nearly demolishing the General Mills plant.

On Thursday The New York Times investigative reporters Jonathan Martin and Alex Burns released passages from their latest book “This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future.”

 

In the book the two claimed that GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy told Liz Cheney on a January 10, 2021 call that he would counsel Trump to resign before the end of his term.

 

When the claims within the book broke early in the news, McCarthy’s spokesman Mark Bednar refuted them saying, “McCarthy never said he’d call Trump to say he should resign.”

 

McCarthy himself called the claims about his conversations “totally false” when The New York Times reported on them earlier in the day.

 

Kevin McCarthy released a statement on Twitter following the NY Times report. He insisted the claims were false.

British Saxon armored cars to be delivered to Ukrainian army after conversion and testing

Turchynov, speaking during a visit on Friday to a training center of the Ukrainian National Guard, said that in the near future the armored vehicles will undergo conversion work at the enterprise of state concern Ukroboronprom to adapt them to the needs of the Ukrainian army.

"These Saxons were obtained without weapons - they will be equipped with a weapons station made in Ukraine, which should provide effective fire cover for the National Guard or the other units that the vehicles will be delivered to," Turchynov said.

After testing, the armored vehicles will "immediately enter service with our military," he said.

As reported earlier, on December 5, 2014, First Deputy General Director of state-owned enterprise Ukroboronprom Sergiy Pinkas said that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine had purchased 75 light armored vehicles from British manufacturer Saxon for about $3.8 million.

He also added that the Saxon armored cars are an affordable alternative to the outdated technology currently in service of the Ukrainian army, stressing that these machines are being upgraded and would be ready to provide the necessary protection for the Ukrainian military when carrying out missions in the combat zone.

Saxon armored vehicles were developed in the early 1970s to act as a cheap but efficient "battle-taxi" for security forces on missions. Saxons are currently used by several countries, including Oman, Bahrain, Malaysia and Nigeria.

UK Embassy In Kiev To Reopen Next Week, But Johnson Warns Russian Victory A "Realistic Possibility"

 

The UK has announced Friday that it plans to reopen its embassy in Kiev next week, according to a fresh statement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Johnson made the announcement from India, saying, "The extraordinary fortitude and success of President Zelenskiy in resisting Russian forces in Kyiv means I can announce that very shortly, next week, we will reopen our embassy in Ukraine’s capital city."

 

"I want to pay tribute to those British diplomats who remained in the region throughout this period," he added during the press conference. The announcement comes after a string of European countries have re-opened their diplomatic missions in the Ukrainian capital.

Turkey Says Some NATO Members Want Prolonged Ukraine War In Order To Weaken Russia

 

In an interview on Wednesday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said some NATO member states want the war in Ukraine to last longer as a way to hurt Russia.

 

“There are countries within NATO who want the war to continue,” Cavusoglu told CNN Turk. “They want Russia to become weaker.”

 

According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, Cavusoglu did not think the war would last long after Russia and Ukraine held peace talks in Istanbul last month. But following a NATO foreign ministers meeting, he was given the impression that some alliance members don’t want the war to end.

 

Since Russia invaded on February 24, the US and many of its NATO allies have abandoned diplomacy with Russia. Instead of seeking a diplomatic solution, the Western powers are pouring weapons into Ukraine and waging an economic sanctions campaign against Russia.

 

The view among some NATO members on the war was summarized by a recent report from The Washington Post. The report said: “For some in NATO, it’s better for the Ukrainians to keep fighting, and dying, than to achieve a peace that comes too early or at too high a cost to Kyiv and the rest of Europe.”

General Mills Georgia plane crash

A Cessna 340A, N84GR, was destroyed when it crashed into parked tractor trailers near the General Mills plant shortly after takeoff from Covington Municipal Airport (KCVC), Covington, Georgia.

The two people onboard were fatally injured. There were no reported injuries to personnel on the ground.

Florida sheriff says homeowners are 'more than welcome to shoot at' crooks who break into their homes: 'We prefer that you do, actually'

 

A Florida sheriff said in no uncertain terms that homeowners in his county are "more than welcome to shoot at" all those who break into their houses.

 

"We prefer that you do, actually," Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said at a Thursday press conference.

What are the details?

 

Johnson had been briefing the media on the arrest Wednesday of Brandon J. Harris — a "frequent flyer" crook with long rap sheet. Johnson said his outfit's first "interaction" with him took place when Harris was just 13 years old.

 

Johnson said authorities got multiple calls after 4:30 p.m. about a suspicious person in a Pace neighborhood, and the sheriff said Harris broke into several residences.

 

About 40 minutes later, Johnson said Harris broke into a home — but the homeowner fired a gun at Harris multiple times without hitting him, and Harris remained on the loose.

 

Johnson said Harris broke into yet another home, and authorities captured him when Harris jumped through a window's glass after he was cornered in a bedroom.

 

At the time of his arrest, Harris was wanted on two felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant, the sheriff said. For this latest run-in with the law, Harris was charged with felony attempted burglary with assault, two counts of felony burglary to an occupied dwelling, felony burglary to an unoccupied dwelling, resisting arrest without violence, criminal mischief, and attempted larceny. His bond was set at $157, 500.

 

Open season declared

 

"We don't know which homeowner shot at [Harris]. I guess they think that they did something wrong, which they did not,” Johnson said. “If somebody is breaking into your house, you’re more than welcome to shoot at them in Santa Rosa County. We prefer that you do, actually.”

 

Johnson added, "Whoever that was, you're not in trouble. Come see us. We have a gun safety class we put on every other Saturday, and if you take that, you’ll shoot a lot better and hopefully save the taxpayers money.”

 

He also noted that "if somebody's breaking into your house, you've got all the right in the world to defend yourself. Of course [Harris] didn't get hit, and now we've gotta pay for him."

Johnson said Harris chased a woman into her house during Wednesday's incident, but fortunately the woman — who had kids inside the home — locked the door just before Harris got to it and began pulling on it.

 

Johnson said Harris has been arrested 17 times, the Miami Herald reported.

All Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee on April 22 ordered Twitter board members to preserve all records regarding Elon Musk’s effort to buy the technology company.

 

“As Congress continues to examine Big Tech and how to best protect Americans’ free speech rights, this letter serves as a formal request that you preserve all records and materials relating to Musk’s offer to purchase Twitter, including Twitter’s consideration and response to this offer, and Twitter’s evaluation of its shareholder interests with respect to Musk’s offer,” Ranking Member Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and the other Republicans told board members in the letters.

 

“You should construe this preservation notice as an instruction to take all reasonable steps to prevent the destruction or alteration, whether intentionally or negligently, of all documents, communications, and other information, including electronic information and metadata, that is or may be potentially responsive to this congressional inquiry,” they added.

 

Republicans are in the minority in the current term but hope to flip the chamber in the upcoming midterm elections.

Los Angeles County Ignores Court Order, Forcing Masks on Public Transit

 

Officials in Los Angeles County are the latest who have made it clear that they are not prepared let mask mandates become a thing of the past, enacting a public health order forcing people to wear masks on public transit and transportation hubs.

 

United States District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, a Trump-appointee, this week nixed the Biden administration’s federal mask mandate, deeming it illegal. She found that the mandate “exceeded the CDC statutory authority, improperly invoked the good cause exception to notice and comment rulemaking, and failed to adequately explain its decisions.”

 

“Because our system does not permit agencies to act unlawfully even in the pursuit of desirable ends, the court declares unlawful and vacates the mask mandate,” she wrote.

 

However, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has made it clear that it is not giving up, giving Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) the greenlight to appeal the ruling, which ended forced masking.

 

“It is CDC’s continuing assessment that at this time an order requiring masking in the indoor transportation corridor remains necessary for the public health,” the federal agency said in a statement.

 

As a result, Los Angeles County officials are heeding to the CDC, requiring individuals to wear masks on “all forms of public transportation in LA County,” including buses, trains, and taxis. This rule also extends to all indoor transportation hubs in LA County, “including airport and bus terminals, train and subway stations, seaports or other indoor port terminals, or any other indoor area that serves as a transportation hub.”

 

Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer is attributing the decision to the CDC, simply stating that “they are experts.” The statement is reminiscent of White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s retort to Fox News’s Peter Doocy this week, essentially suggesting that one must be a doctor to understand the discrepancies of inconsistent mask rules.

 

“They made a determination that at this point having that requirement in place is necessary for the public’s health, and that resonates with us,” Ferrer said.

 

Los Angeles County officials are not the only individuals heeding to the CDC, as the Port Authority is continuing to enforce mask rules at New York airports, and Chicago’s O’Hare has also suggested it will continue to enforce forced masking.

 

However, it remains unclear just how these entities are enforcing these rules, as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is not enforcing the Biden administration’s mask rule at this time.

Media Matters takes credit for getting Project Veritas banned from Twitter

Project Veritas went undercover to expose Media Matters' Director of External Affairs actually taking credit for getting Veritas banned from Twitter. In an undercover video, a Project Veritas journalist tells Brennan Suen "You gotta like, hammer these f*cking Project Veritas people," leading him on further, saying "We gotta hammer them."

 

"Thank you," Suen says, "we have people doing it, it's just hard. Actually, you know, they're not on Twitter anymore. So we have had some victories. And finally got some of their horrible videos off."

 

"They're not on Twitter anymore?" the Veritas journalist asks incredulously.

 

"Nope," Suen replies. "They're blocked. Thanks to the work we've been doing. But I do appreciate that."

 

Suen said that, despite Media Matters' efforts to get Project Veritas banned, Veritas still has ways to get their content distributed, something called distribution by proxy. This is where others share Veritas' content despite the bans.

 

"But it's not nearly the same engagement," Suen said. He went on to say that Media Matters "monitors them and exposes them and we try to make sure people know what's going on."

 

"Hopefully people are educated and don't fall for their tricks," Suen said, while falling directly for one of those "tricks."

 

Suen suggested that the journalist "Google 'Project Veritas Media Matters' and I think you'll see some of our content about it."

 

"And if it's not public, you know, we do a lot of stuff with partner orgs too, to raise awareness, so it's not always like content on our website," Suen said.

 

Media Matters claims that Project Veritas is a "Far-right political organization that secretly records and falsifies conversations with governmental and political organizations to manufacture conservative-leaning narratives."

 

"Founded by far-right political activist James O’Keefe, Project Veritas has a history of recording governmental and political employees, then editing their comments to distort their intent," they say.

 

Project Veritas was spied on by the Department of Justice. Documents show the DOJ "compelled Apple and Google not to disclose that they were providing the individual’s private data to the government," Veritas reported. Veritas announced they they would file a motion that outlines how the DOJ's actions violated the Privacy Protection Act and the Fourth Amendment, in addition to the First Amendment and Common Law Reporter’s Privilege.

 

Media Matters has reported that "Project Veritas almost always directly lies to its targets while trying to obtain information, a line not often crossed by journalists today. In the past, the group’s operatives have pretended to go on dates with the victims of its sting operations and have posed as victims of assault in order to get footage."

 

In Suen's case, all it took was for a Project Veritas journalist to praise Media Matters for Suen to take credit for getting the media outlet banned from Twitter.

Israelis chant “Death to the Arabs” in Jerusalem

 

Hundreds of Israeli Jewish nationalists marched through Jerusalem on Wednesday chanting anti-Palestinian slogans as Israeli police tried to block their route to the Damascus Gate.

 

The event appeared to be part of the yearly “March of the Flags” organized by Israeli Jewish supremacists to celebrate Israel’s occupation and colonization of East Jerusalem.

 

The march is traditionally held on “Jerusalem Day,” an Israeli-invented holiday to mark the start of the 1967 occupation, which falls in late May this year, so it is unclear why the march went ahead on Wednesday.

 

It took place despite a lack of approval from Israeli police and warnings from Palestinian resistance groups that they would respond to the continued assault on Palestinians and Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem.

 

Later on Wednesday evening, a rocket fired from Gaza landed in an open area near Sderot, an Israeli settlement near the besieged territory.

 

Israel then carried out air raids in Gaza early Thursday, which were followed by another rocket and gunfire from Gaza. Israel’s emergency medical service said that several people suffered “panic attacks” or were “lightly injured” while running to shelters, according to Tel Aviv daily Haaretz.

 

Israel, claiming to have hit a facility used to manufacture rocket motors, called its attack on Gaza “the most significant” since last May, when its 11-day bombardment of the territory left 250 Palestinians, including almost 70 children, dead.

 

Video showed massive explosions lighting up the night sky in Gaza.

 

And while Bennett’s government may be trying to distance itself from the extremist mob, Yair Lapid, Israel’s supposedly moderate foreign minister, made a similarly provocative visit to the Damascus Gate earlier this month, further increasing tensions.

 

“Death to the Arabs”

 

The mob on Wednesday tried to force its way into the Old City’s Muslim Quarter despite Israeli police efforts to stop it:

 

In keeping with tradition at such marches, many in the mob which included children – chanted mavet la aravim – “Death to the Arabs.”

 

Videos from the march show the presence of flags of Lehava, a Jewish extremist group whose focus is preventing mixing of Jews and non-Jews.

 

Lehava and its ultra-radicalized youth are a regular presence at Israel’s “death to the Arabs” marches.

 

While there were some confrontations between Palestinians defending Damascus Gate and Israeli occupation forces, the tensions on Wednesday were concentrated between extremist settlers and Israeli police.

 

Notably – and in keeping with Israel’s apartheid policies – Israeli forces apparently refrained from using against Jews tear gas, rubber-coated steel bullets, live fire, skunk water and other forms of extreme violence they routinely use to attack Palestinians.

 

Yet the effort by the Israeli state to halt the march was seen by some as a victory for Palestinian resistance. Last May, the intervention of Gaza-based Palestinian resistance groups in response to Israel’s violence against Palestinians in Jerusalem sent a clear message that the occupation forces do not have free rein in the city.

 

A similar planned march by Jewish nationalists in Jerusalem last year was one of the catalysts that ignited the full-scale confrontation between Israel and Palestinians across historic Palestine.

 

Originally scheduled for 10 May 2021, the march was postponed due to Palestinian resistance, which forced Israel into an embarrassing retreat.

 

Israel had to cancel the march.

10 Deaths in 10 Months: String of Suicides on a Single Aircraft Carrier

 

On the morning of April 11, Capt. Brent Gaut, the commander of the USS George Washington an aircraft carrier undergoing major shipyard work at Newport News, Virginia got on the ship's intercom.

 

Two sailors had died on April 9 and 10, and Gaut was alerting the crew that those deaths were the eighth and ninth suicides the ship had experienced in nine months, three sailors who heard the announcement told Military.com on the condition of anonymity to avoid retaliation.

 

One explained that Gaut, talking to the crew first thing in the morning, went on to tell sailors to reach out and talk to someone if they needed help and that resources were available to them. That sailor described it as what "they say after they have a suicide every time."

 

Four days after the announcement, another sailor was "found unresponsive on board the ship," a Navy spokesperson confirmed to Military.com, and the sailor later died at a hospital in Newport News.

 

Two of the sailors who spoke with Military.com said that Gaut later told the crew that the latest death was a member of the ship's security team, who had a self-inflicted wound.

 

Suicides have risen sharply in the military. In 2020, 384 active-duty service members died by suicide, a 44% increase from 2015. Since 2014, 4,842 service members have killed themselves. In a recent hearing, congressional lawmakers said the military is not doing nearly enough to prevent these deaths. Despite the persistence of the problem, a cluster of suicides like Gaut described to his crew is still highly unusual.

 

Asked about the reports from members of the crew, a Navy spokesperson did not confirm or deny Gaut's remarks, instead outlining a total of seven deaths, four of which had not previously been disclosed by the service.

 

The fact that the carrier is in the shipyards and for far longer than originally planned has created a difficult environment, according to the sailors who spoke to Military.com.

 

The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier has been undergoing a refueling and complex overhaul at Newport News since 2017. The massive maintenance period, which typically lasts four years, is usually done halfway through a carrier's 50-year life to refuel the nuclear reactor and see to repairs and upgrades.

 

In 2019, the ship was scheduled to be done in 2021. By 2020, that had changed to 2022. Danny Hernandez, a spokesman for Newport News Shipbuilding, told Military.com in an email that "COVID-19 impacts and unplanned growth work resulted in delays to the schedule."

 

For sailors, the delays have meant continuing to labor under unpleasant and taxing conditions.

 

George Washington crew members who don't have a housing allowance or otherwise live off ship had to move back aboard last year despite the fact that the carrier is still being worked on, all three sailors noted.

 

"They live in a construction zone," one sailor said. "There's grinding, needle gunning, there's always problems with ventilation, there's always problems with hot water," they went on.

 

Two of the sailors recalled that, during the winter months, the lack of ventilation meant that the ship got so cold the epoxy-covered floor would crackle underfoot.

 

"That's why the shipyard sucks," one sailor said.

 

"It's not like one big glaring problem, it's just a bunch of small stuff that adds up and adds up and adds up, but it never goes away."

 

Lt. Cmdr. Robert Myers, a spokesman for the commander of Naval Air Force Atlantic, told Military.com that the Navy is "aware of four separate incidents that tragically resulted in the death of four service members assigned to the USS George Washington that occurred at off-base locations over the past 12 months."

In the late 17th century, each of the three former farm settlements had eight to 10 stone buildings and supported 70 to 80 people linked to the Glencoe branch of the powerful MacDonald clan, Alexander said.

On Friday, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., shared an exclusive message with RSBN, ripping what he called a “coordinated effort to steal the republic from the voters.”

 

His message comes as Democrats seek to set a legal precedent for future elections by removing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., from the ballot in Georgia’s upcoming November election.

 

“In my legal career,” Gaetz said in remarks made just outside of the courtroom, “it’s been very rare that I’ve ever seen a circumstance where a judge so frequently and demonstrably turns down the arguments of one side and accepts the arguments of another.”

 

“Almost every objection that Congresswoman Greene’s legal team [has] presented has been sustained,” he continued. “And time and again [we’ve] seen the petitioner very disorganized, unable to really put a thought together.”

 

On Monday, a federal judge ruled that a lawsuit filed with the Georgia Secretary of State seeking to block Rep. Greene from running for reelection could proceed, according to Reuters. The suit is based on the claim that Greene is “unfit” for office because her supporters were allegedly involved in the so-called “insurrection” of Jan. 6, 2021.

 

On Wednesday, RSBN’s own Brian Glenn interviewed Rep. Greene to discuss the lawsuit. Greene stated during the interview that the lawsuit is a “frivolous case that should be completely thrown out… They are trying to rip my name off the ballot with these fake claims about January 6th and about me.”

 

Rep. Gaetz further addressed the unprecedented court proceedings in his message to RSBN, postulating that the suit would likely be unsuccessful but warning of the dangerous ramifications if Rep. Greene were to be barred from participating in the midterm election.

 

He said, “If this is all about Congresswoman Greene’s, you know, tweets from a year or more ago, it won’t be successful, and it shouldn’t be successful. Because what we’re observing is a coordinated effort to steal the republic from the voters. In America, it’s the voters who get to select the lawmakers [and] the representatives, not state court judges, not un-elected bureaucrats not even elected bureaucrats.”

 

As Rep. Greene continues her Friday testimony in the suit brought against her, Rep. Gaetz reminded Americans that voter choice was being attacked. “The people get to make the choice, and that’s really what’s on trial today,” he said. “…I expect her to win, just as she always does.”

Porter J. Goss and a band of brothers, secret agents in cold-war Europe, settled here in retirement three decades ago and used the political skills they had learned in the Central Intelligence Agency to create and run a new community.

 

They established a profitable newspaper from scratch. They set up a local government to protect pristine beaches from commercial development. And they nursed the political career of Mr. Goss, the Republican Florida congressman named this week by President Bush to be director of central intelligence.

 

In interviews in the last two days, old friends of Mr. Goss recalled his years as a spy and a budding politician, who rose from City Council to county commission to Congress. In the late 1960's, they said, Mr. Goss was in London as a clandestine services officer for the C.I.A., recruiting and supervising spies and foreign agents, much as he had done earlier in Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

 

Donald F. Whitehead, a onetime professor of political science and international relations, was working for the C.I.A. in Paris at the time, said his widow, Grace E. Whitehead. And Fred Valtin was working for the agency in Germany.

 

His widow, Jane C. Valtin, said: Fred helped the Germans establish a postwar government under the auspices of the C.I.A. He hung around with Willy Brandt and helped build the Social Democratic Party.

 

The three men ended up on Sanibel Island, a short drive from Fort Myers in southwest Florida. The Whiteheads arrived first, in 1969. They helped Mr. Goss recuperate on the island when his intelligence career was cut short by a nearly fatal infection in 1971. Mr. Valtin arrived a little later.

 

Mrs. Whitehead said the men had become friends in Europe and founded the weekly newspaper, The Island Reporter, in 1973. They supported stringent land use planning and the incorporation of Sanibel as a way for the city to control its destiny and prevent developers from spoiling its lush tropical vegetation and beaches.

 

The retired spies three spooks on an island, in the words of a friend used all their skills to manage this place, said Mrs. Whitehead, 86, who still lives in the area.

 

Developers were none too happy. They complained that the C.I.A. was coming down here, was buying up property and would take over the island, Mrs. Whitehead recalled.

 

The owners of the newspaper were adept at gathering political intelligence. Porter went to meetings of the Lee County commissioners and brought back information, Mrs. Whitehead said. My husband, who was editor of the paper, wrote it up.

 

Mr. Whitehead, a former intelligence case officer, recruited Mr. Valtin to be business manager of the paper. From his years at the agency, Mr. Valtin knew how to take care of money, Mrs. Whitehead said…..

Mrs. Valtin said her husband was budget director of the C.I.A., at its headquarters in Northern Virginia, when he retired in 1973.

 

Mr. Valtin was born in Germany, but he and two brothers came to the United States in 1938 and served in the United States Army in World War II. Their father, a dentist, served in the German Army. Their mother, a Quaker, worked in this country at the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom.

 

Mark R. Twombly, who went to work for the newspaper in 1974, fresh out of college, said: This was a worldly group of people with a secretive background. They were expert at not saying anything about their C.I.A. past. That added to the intrigue and character of the place.

 

In a preview issue of The Island Reporter, the owners said: We don't want to be too sophisticated, but neither do we want to be sloppy. We'll not be crusaders, predicting gloom as the byproduct of all growth. But we'll not be silent if we think that the overall interests of the community are being needlessly jeopardized by an individual or group.

 

Mrs. Valtin said: The Island Reporter started in our house. Gracie addressed envelopes in our garage and it was showing a profit in six months.

 

After Sanibel was incorporated in 1974, Mr. Goss was elected to the City Council and became the first mayor. He served on the Lee County Commission from 1983 to 1988, when he was elected to Congress.

 

Mr. Goss, 65, has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 1989. One of his four children, R. Mason Goss, 36, said the Whiteheads and the Valtins seemed like part of his family as he was growing up in Sanibel, which felt then like an idyllic little fishing village.

 

Mason Goss said his knowledge of his father's career was sketchy, based mostly on surmise and speculation.

 

Porter Goss did serve on Hispaniola, in the Dominican Republic, perhaps gathering intelligence on Cuba, the son said. And his father spent some time in Miami working for the agency. The Cuban missile crisis was coming up right around then, said the son, who now teaches history and politics as headmaster of a private school here.

 

I had no idea my father was even in the C.I.A. until I was 10 or 11 years old, in 1978 or 1979, Mason Goss said.

 

Mr. Whitehead and Mr. Valtin had retired after long careers in the agency. By contrast, Porter Goss retired after 10 years, when he was just 34.

 

I wondered why, Mason Goss said. My mother just said he was ill, and that's why we got to come down here to Florida. That's what we were told.

 

Some people have speculated that Mr. Goss's mysterious illness might have resulted from foul play in the spy wars. But Mrs. Whitehead, a nurse, and Mason Goss said they had never heard that. We sort of understood that we didn't need to ask more questions about that, the younger Mr. Goss said.

 

Mrs. Whitehead said Porter Goss had a terrible infection, spent four months in a hospital, received vast doses of antibiotics and had blood clots in his chest and his legs. A doctor told him he had to do nothing but sit in the sun, she added.

 

The ex-spies joined together in another business venture that was less successful than the newspaper. They operated Island Boat Rental, in the Sanibel marina. Mrs. Whitehead said the main purpose of the business was to give Porter something to do out in the sunshine.

 

Mr. Twombly said: From a business point of view, it was a disaster. I don't think it ever made money.

They created the Disney World tunnels. A secret network of underground Magic Kingdom tunnels completely hidden from peeping public eyes.

 

So how did the Disney World Tunnels come about?

Rumor Control has it that as Mr Walt Disney was wandering through Tomorrowland in Disneyland California, a Cast Member (Disney-speak for staff) dressed as a cowboy walked by him on his way to his position at Frontierland.

 

One glance told Walt that a cowboy dressed in checked shirt, bandana and cowboy boots twirling a six shooter looked totally out of place in Tomorrowland.

 

This was supposed to be the future world and not the middle 1800s.

 

Walt racked his brain for a solution.

 

He didn’t want anything distracting visitors from their magical experience. How could his cast members be transported to their designated work stations without being seen by the general public?

 

An underworld Disney was the answer. An impossibility in Disneyland California which was too small. But the much larger Walt Disney World planned for Florida was a different story.

 

So plans were hatched to build these Disney World tunnels (Utilidors) under the new Magic Kingdom.

 

Or rather, to build Magic Kingdom on top of the underworld tunnels.

 

The projected cost of creating the Magic Kingdom was rumored to be $4 million. The addition of the underworld tunnels raised that to $9 million.

 

Due to Florida’s high water table, digging out a basement would have been practically impossible. Disney improvised by building the tunnels at ground level and creating the public world right on top.

 

To build this mini-mountain, 8 million tons of earth were excavated from the area in front of the Magic Kingdom. That big void was transformed into Seven Seas Lagoon and gave the surrounding resort hotels prime water-front positions.

 

Genius!

 

The excavated earth was then distributed and molded to form a gentle incline, barely noticeable, to create a ground level illusion for visitors who were actually 15 feet above ground level.

 

Creating the Disney Underworld Tunnels

The resulting Disney Utilidors are today 9 acres of underworld tunnels in the form of a circle with spokes leading off in various directions. There’s a central path right down the middle.

 

The tunnel walls are color coded to make it easier for Cast Members to navigate their way underneath the park to their desired location.
