‘Fully-Vaccinated and Boosted’ Texas Gubernatorial Candidate Beto O’Rourke Announces He Has COVID

 

Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke has announced that he has COVID-19, despite being fully-vaccinated and boosted.

 

O’Rourke said in a statement posted to Twitter that he is experiencing “mild symptoms.”

 

“In addition to being fully vaccinated and boosted, I regularly test for COVID-19 while traveling the state for town hall meetings. I tested negative yesterday morning before testing positive today,” O’Rourke wrote. “I have mild symptoms and will be following public health guidelines.”

 

O’Rourke had a campaign stop in Livingston, Texas, on Sunday. He is challenging incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott in this year’s midterm elections.

 

Abbott is nearly eight points ahead of O’Rourke in a head to head matchup, according to Real Clear Politics.

A left-wing government watchdog group with a dubious history is demanding Apple engage in mass preemptive censorship with the removal of a free-speech-branded alternative to Twitter from its app store.

 

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent a four-page letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday urging the American tech executive to nuke former President Donald Trump’s new platform, Truth Social, from its digital marketplace despite no violations of company guidelines.

 

“The events of January 6, 2021 highlighted not only democracy’s vulnerabilities, but also the risks associated with the current ecosystem of online speech,” wrote CREW President Noah Bookbinder in the letter. “Every company that now enters into business with Trump must recognize that it is essentially endorsing this dangerous and anti-democratic conduct.”

 

With not a single post from the entire platform cited or a single company policy violated to justify the app’s removal, Bookbinder argued Truth Social’s association with Trump was enough reason alone to ban the product from the Apple marketplace.

 

“Unchecked threats to reliable information imperil our civic institutions, social stability, and democratic norms,” Bookbinder wrote, implying that inadequate censorship of dissident ideas is a threat to democracy.

 

Bookbinder even highlighted the corporate collusion to take down Parler, another free-speech alternative to Twitter, in the immediate aftermath of the Capitol riot to rationalize a preemptive strike at Truth Social.

 

“Fortunately, there is a strong precedent for taking action in response to security threats,” Bookbinder explained. Within four days of the turmoil on Capitol Hill, which was exploited by Democrats after years of justifying left-wing destruction in the name of social justice, Apple joined Californian tech oligarchs at Google to strip Parler from its app store. Amazon yanked the platform from its web hosting service, rendering it offline. Each company justified the large-scale censorship by indicting Parler as a haven for extremist content inciting violence, despite Twitter and Facebook each fostering the same activity in the run-up to the Capitol unrest. Bookbinder made no mention of the identical conduct of Facebook and Twitter, each allies in the censorship regime, while arguing Truth Social’s presence in the App Store posed “significant reputational risks” to Apple.

 

“CREW respectfully requests that you take action to distance your company from those who undermine democracy,” Bookbinder wrote.

 

The letter is among the latest examples of left-wing actors embracing opposition censorship as a means to silence political dissidents and win elections.

 

Earlier this month, proponents of censorship paradoxically cloaking free speech criticism in defense of democracy suffered an online meltdownover billionaire Elon Musk’s effort to purchase Twitter. With a $43 billion dollar offer, 20 percent above market value, Musk has pledged to reform the platform’s culture as one committed to free speech while it serves as “a de facto town square.”

Enormous Underground City Discovered in Turkey

 

Archaeologists in Turkey have discovered a massive underground city, which they believe may be the largest in the world. They have only excavated 3% of it so far but are unearthing multitudes of rooms, tunnels, hidden passages and artifacts on a daily basis.

 

Daily Sabah reports that the discovery was made in the Midyat district of Mardin, an area that is already rich with history and culture and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

 

The underground city, which has been called Matiate (‘city of caves’), was discovered accidentally during the cleaning and conservation of historical streets and houses in Midyat. Workers were cleaning a cave when they discovered a passage. Excavation work then revealed a multitude of rooms and other tunnels leading from it, as well artifacts and wall murals.

Stephen Reid, 67, and Djeswende Reid, 66, left their home in an apartment complex on April 18 and went for a walk toward some trails. Family and friends did not see or hear from them after that, authorities said.

 

Their bodies were discovered Thursday evening in the area of Broken Ground Trails, and the manner of their deaths was homicide, the attorney general and Concord police chief said in a statement last week.

 

WMUR-TV reported a family statement said Stephen Reid served four years in the Peace Corps in West Africa right after college: “He met his future wife and soulmate Wendy, who was from West Africa, while she was studying in Washington D.C. on an athletic scholarship. They bonded over their mutual love of adventure and fitness."

 

The couple had returned to live in Concord three years ago.

 

“Steve’s thirty-plus year career as an international development specialist in service to the world’s most vulnerable through USAID humanitarian projects could not have been made possible without the love, care and support of Wendy, who also helped recently-resettled refugees acclimate and thrive in the United States," the statement said.

 

Authorities asked that anyone who has a home or business security or video surveillance system where the Reids walked to please review the recordings to see if the couple were captured on video.

(Bloomberg) – Twitter Inc. locked down changes to its social networking platform through Friday after accepting a $44 billion bid from billionaire Elon Musk, making it harder for employees to make unauthorized changes, according to people familiar with the matter.

For now, Twitter won’t allow product updates unless they’re business-critical, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the situation is private. The company accepted a $54.20-a-share bid from Musk after a whirlwind courtship that began with the Tesla Inc. magnate disclosing a 9% stake in Twitter earlier this month.

Product changes will require approval from a vice president, the people said. Twitter imposed the temporary ban to keep employees who may be miffed about the deal from “going rogue,” according to one of the people.

The move underscores Twitter’s bumpy road ahead as it transitions from a publicly held company to a private one owned by the controversial billionaire. Many of the company’s employees have been agitated about the idea of Musk taking charge and what changes may come.

Musk, 50, is a prolific tweeter and has shared many ideas for the platform, including everything from adding an edit button to turning Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters into a homeless shelter.

Twitter has previously instituted freezes to its code ahead of key events, such as the Super Bowl, to ensure continuity on the platform and prevent mistakes appearing.

A big part of Rumble’s appeal to video content creators is that it does not filter its content as much as YouTube. Therefore, many content creators find Rumble to be a “free speech friendly” app.

Revenue and other fixed payments depend on how much ownership of their content the creator is willing to give up.

Recent growth

The site’s chief executive, Chris Pavlovski, said that Rumble has grown from one million active users last summer to roughly 30 million. In a tweet dated November 11, 2020, Chris Pavlovski boldly stated, “Every media and news organization needs to take notice! I can confirm that Parler is sending Rumble more referral traffic than Facebook and Twitter combined for the first time. Dependency on them is now a thing of the past. Missing CDC worker Timothy Cunningham drowned, no sign of foul play, police say

Cunningham, who worked as an epidemiologist in the CDC's chronic disease unit, had been missing since Feb. 12 in Georgia. He left work early that day saying he wasn't feeling well, and wasn't seen again.

 

ATLANTA – A body found in the Chattahoochee River has been identified as missing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) employee Timothy Cunningham, authorities announced Thursday. Fulton County Chief medical examiner Jan Gorniak determined Cunningham drowned in the river. She says there were no signs of foul play.

That choppines in all the indices are not a good sign if you are long-but also do not forget that all it takes is a reaction from J-J-Janet and the inkjets via the Exchange Stabilization Fund ESF and all of that "down" gets erased or arrested. All those big chunks on the NAS (in the billions) were not coming from "investors" on a whole these are NOT investors they are speculators and gamblers and it has ALWAYS been this way-only a few places transactions of that size can come from-still think Softbank were/was behind those and they were getting help from the ESF but jmo. Something got up it's ass starting at 10:22am EST (the big rise on the left side of Cap#2) The NAS was green for all of 26 minutes and then fell of da cliff-but hold on a minute niqqa-the big blocks started showing up at 11:27am EST with the first one of 1.57B (reported as a sale-moar than 50% of it sales) then we had one at 11:54am of 1.79B (on it's LOD and reported as buy-moar than 50% of it was buying)…and the WHOOOOOSH up again. And the NAS went green and waffled along the neckline (fridays close) around 1:10pm EST…lather,rise, repeat. These are all indicated by the black dots in Cap#2-showing all of 2 today.

Major indecision going across all indices-the choppiness shows that. DWAC got left for ded today -5.29 (-12.90%) and it appears the market (not real people mind you) is saying that TS is not needed-remember these are completely controlled by the market makers and go where THEY decide to place them. 45 has ZERO control over this so don't "buy it" just because it's connected with him-a big lesson to learn is you must always distance a product from it's equity price as they have nothing to do with each other ftmp-see Apple's stock prior to Steve Jobs death…it did nothing and shortly after he ded it went parabolic.

The metals Au/Ag-see cap#3….another hit job on both (that began last night) but got a kick in the ass lower as soon as NYMEX opened at 8:30am-totally continuing to NOT hide this and been going on for decades. Ag getting whacked much worse %-wise than Au.

So this improves the Gold?silver ratio again but good luck trying to get any Ag in size becasue the premiums are still high. This world-class facility is particularly well-known for its massive lift and power capabilities. All sonar and acoustic testing is carried out by a staff of highly qualified acoustic testing professionals on systems and equipment of all sizes. For example, an entire sonar suite (mounted in its sonar compartment) has been tested at Seneca Lake.

 

Seneca Lake is the Navy's primary active instrumented calibration and test facility. Located in a deep freshwater lake and open all year, the facility conducts all types of research and development. It is also world-renowned for its testing and evaluation of major projects requiring relatively deep water with fixed underwater geometry with heavy load-handling and/or electrical power capabilities.

 

There is easy access to the test facility by several major highways. It is within an hour's travel time of either Syracuse or Rochester airports in Western New York State. Large test items or systems may be brought to Seneca Lake from the Atlantic Ocean or the Great Lakes via the New York Barge Canal System. The canal system can accommodate barges up to 12.2-m (40-ft) wide and 61-m (200-ft) long.

 

Two instrumented test barges, the System Measurement Platform (SMP) and Remote Calibration Platform (RCP), are the primary measurement and calibration resources for the facility. The facility can accommodate all other test and calibration equipment deemed necessary, as there is an abundance of power, handling capability, and room to support all special requirements. The SMP is permanently moored near the center of lake approximately 2.6-Km (1.3 miles) from the western shore. Transit to the SMP takes approximately 5 minutes from shore.

 

Two equipment-handling barge and numerous transport boats serve the test facility.

 

The Facility has the potential to handle test fixtures, systems, or equipment weighing up to 200-Mg (200-ton). Such equipment can be lowered on pipe shafting and rotated in azimuth down to water depths of 153-m (502-ft).

 

The resources of Seneca Lake have been utilized by many organizations over the years, including agencies of the federal government (Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, universities, foreign governments, state and local agencies, and private industry. The facility has also benefited from its proximity to an extensive shore support network that includes the nearby complex of academic institutions.

 

The cost of conducting tests at Seneca Lake is substantially less than any similar at-sea assessment, while providing a more flexible and responsive testing and evaluation environment. In addition, the fairly constant and more predictable weather and water conditions of Seneca Lake make it a testing site of choice for major, large-scale projects, especially in a time-constrained environment.

 

Machining and fabrication capabilities also exist at the facility, offering the ability of quick repair or manufacture of required test gear and/or fixtures.

Google Rolls Out Feature That Corrects You With Woke ‘Inclusive’ Language

 

The warnings will alert users that what they have typed “may not be inclusive to all readers,” while suggesting users should “Consider using different words,” offering woke corrections like ‘police officer’ or ‘property owner’.

 

When Googling John F. Kennedy’s inauguration speech, Google suggests that it should be corrected to ‘for all humankind’ instead of ‘for all mankind’.

 

Critics hit out at Google attempting to police and change language, with Silkie Carlo, the director of rights group Big Brother Watch, calling it “deeply intrusive.”

 

“With Google’s new assistive writing tool, the company is not only reading every word you type but telling you what to type,” she noted.

 

“This speech-policing is profoundly clumsy, creepy and wrong, often reinforcing bias. Invasive tech like this undermines privacy, freedom of expression and increasingly freedom of thought,” Carlo added.

 

Lazar Radic, a senior scholar in economic policy at the International Centre for Law and Economics, noted that “Not only is this incredibly conceited and patronising – it can also serve to stifle individuality, self-expression, experimentation, and – from a purely utilitarian perspective – progress.”

 

Radic explained, “What if ‘landlord’ is the better choice because it makes more sense, narratively, in a novel? What if ‘house owner’ sounds wooden and fails to invoke the same sense of poignancy? What if the defendant really was a ‘housewife’ – and refers to herself as such? Should all written pieces – including written forms of art, such as novels, lyrics, and poetry – follow the same, boring template?”

 

The feature on Google Docs, which could easily be shifted over to its search engine, is now on by default for what the company has termed ‘enterprise-level users’.

The two were caught on tape discussing cutting deals in internal Ukrainian politics, with Nuland appearing to favor one opposition leader over another. They appeared to plot replacing elected Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych by installing Artseniy Yatseniuk, expressing anger with the European Union for favoring Vitali Klitschko as a replacement.

 

“Fuck the EU,” Nuland blurted out on the call, as the pair plotted the fate of the Eurasian nation together. Together, Nuland and Pyatt are believed to have led U.S. efforts to orchestrate a 2014 revolution in Ukraine that ultimately led to President Yanukovych’s ousting.

 

Pyatt also appears to have publicly criticized the office of Ukraine’s then-prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin, who was investigating the Hunter Biden-linked energy firm Burisma.

 

Speaking in 2019, Biden admitted he withheld U.S. government aid to Ukraine in order to pressure the country’s leaders into firing Shokin.

 

Pyatt appears to have echoed Biden’s anti-Shokin sentiments, calling out the prosecutor’s office in a 2015 speech at the Odesa Financial Forum.

 

“That obstacle is the failure of the institution of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to successfully fight internal corruption. Rather than supporting Ukraine’s reforms and working to root out corruption, corrupt actors within the Prosecutor General’s office are making things worse by openly and aggressively undermining reform,” Pyatt asserted.

 

If confirmed, Pyatt’s nomination, which comes amidst ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, will put him in charge of the Bureau of Energy Resources within the U.S. Department of State, leading the agency’s efforts in international energy security.
