Nothing uncomfortable about it, Ive had to process it myself a few times. First of all, I appreciate that you chose to talk about your experiences with being offended. For most people, even uttering about things of an offended nature brings them discomfort. So I congratulate you for taking that first step into the deep end! As someone who had once been offended myself, I understand the perils of your struggle. But rest assured my friend, together we shall win this fight! During my journey to reach the non-offended state of zen I had once harmonized with so well but had fallen from, I came to the Kierkegaardian realization that in our 4-dimensional space-time continuum, any mindset of an offended nature could be deemed non-existential. In my mind's mind, I visualized the offensive energy, and started to move it about; molded it slowly into what I wanted it to be. I realized I could change the size of it as well. The bigger I made it the more offended I became! That's when I had the epiphany that changed my life forever! I chose to make it smaller. I chose! I chose that life! Life is all about the choices you make, and I am a testament to that. The orb of offended energy then shrunk to an infinitesimally small point. I couldn't even see it anymore. Was it still there? The paradox became evident; The more I diminished the offensive energy, the more I wondered if it was still there. At that moment, I realized that, that was the point! The point was to not even wonder if it's still there! So, I left my mind's mind in a state of Nirvana. Back in my mind, I could feel the weight lifted. A sense of clarity washed over me. I opened my eyes and saw the world as a non-offended. It was pure ecstasy. I was finally happy again. So now you know in detail what I did to rid myself of the offended mindset. Why does a Tor post show an ID on mouse-over?

 

Anons are still asking this question and nobody has provided an answer yet. I guess you dweebs are not very good at sleuthing out a tech question when you can't just ask Google. Not meaning to demean the anons but there does seem to be a dearth of tech expertise on this board. Anyway, enough of that.

 

Two things can happen when you mouse over a post number. If the post is in the same bread then the data is already in memory so the post can be shown right away. If the post is from a different bread then the data is NOT already present so it has to be retrieved somehow. This is done by fetching the JSON format for the bread in question because this loads much faster than the HTML and doesn't require a lot of complicated parsing to extract the post info from the data stream.

 

You can verify this by opening the network monitor tool in your web browser. Mouse over one of Q's posts at the top of the bread and see what gets loaded in. For Q's first post, this url will appear:

House Democrats are working on legislation to protect people's period tracker data

In a letter posted on her official website, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has revealed that House Democrats have been working on legislation to protect personal data collected by reproductive health trackers. It's one of the three avenues the lawmakers are exploring following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. "Many fear that this information could be used against women by a sinister prosecutor in a state that criminalizes abortion," she explained, though she didn't expound on how the lawmakers plan to protect people's personal data.

 

Users have been swapping their period trackers for others they believe can offer them more privacy ever since the Supreme Court decision dropped. It's not unusual for companies to sell user information or to cooperate with law enforcement, and people are concerned about the possibility of investigators using that data to identify them if they ever seek an abortion. As TechCrunch reported, a number of reproductive health apps enjoyed a surge of new signups over the weekend.

 

One of those apps is Flo, which announced that it plans to launch an anonymous mode shortly after the Supreme Court decision came out. The mode is supposed to remove one's personal information from their account so that they can't be identified, but Flo has yet to reveal when it will become available. It's worth noting that Flo's average daily installs has been on the decline, based on Apptopia numbers cited by TechCrunch, likely because it has a history of sharing private data with third parties.

 

Back in 2019, The Wall Street Journal listed Flo as one of the apps that had been giving Facebook access to people's sensitive data. Two years later, Flo settled with the FTC over allegations that it was sharing information with the social network, Google and other third-party companies. As part of that settlement, Flo now has to explicitly ask for user consent before it can give external services access to their personal health information.

 

Despite the House Speaker's announcement that House Democrats are working "to protect the health and freedom of American women," there's no guarantee that the legislation they're cooking up would be signed into law. It's always smart to take a closer look at how apps are protecting user data by reading their "nutritional label" on iOS or their "safety section" in the Play Store on Android. The masking is done by the server before the HTML is sent to the user. The HTML is derived from some sort of master file. There is no masking step when the JSON is derived.

if that's the case, then the JSON data wouldn't show a unique ID for TOR posters, would it? the JSON data is being transmitted from server side/backend to front end (html/css). the backend ID property should be 000000. a unique ID should never be created for the post if the server-side logic that creates the random ID accounts for TOR posting. something like a conditional - if TOR, then ID = 000000, which would then be transmitted to front end via JSON and rendered through html/css. instead the post does have a unique ID - it just appears to be hidden. but the logic for creating the ID has to be handled server side. unless i'm missing something, haven't actually looked at the source code, but that would be the common sense way to do it, imo
