Kash Patel Responds to Deep State Not Redacting His Name in FBI Affidavit – Then Drops a Hidden Bomb

Kash Patel released a statement Friday on Truth Social where he blasted the corrupt Deep State for not keeping his name redacted in the affidavit used to raid President Trump’s home.

Kash also shared some other insightful information.

Patel wrote on Truth Social that he was basically viciously attacked by the Deep State by them not redacting his name from the warrant used to raid the President’s home. Then Patel shared this:

…This cartel of corruption inside our government is so devoid of concern about national security, they could not be bothered to see the judge in person. Instead, they literally called in the raid on the home of a former President via the FBI’s best friend, Zuckerberg’s WhatsApp.

This isn’t the first time that we heard that the warrant to raid the President’s home with gun-toting FBI agents was attested to over a WhatsApp call.

Far-left Law and Crime reported that the warrant was attested to over WhatsApp.

The cover sheet was “[a]ttested to” by an FBI special agent “by Phone (WhatsApp),” the form reveals. Indeed, the form is titled as an “application for a warrant by telephone or other reliable electronic means.”

The criminal cover sheet document indicates, in the usual perfunctory fashion, that no other relevant matters are proceeding before other magistrate judges in other sections of the same federal district where the Mar-a-Lago-related proceeding is ongoing. Warrant applications routinely include such attestations to flag the judiciary if prosecutors are seeking search warrants from multiple magistrates.

What we didn’t know is that the FBI uses WhatsApp as their “best friend”. WhatsApp is owned by Facebook. What does Patel know about WhatsApp’s use by the FBI?

It appears the FBI uses WhatsApp to hold conversations that they can hide. Are there any other reasons for using WhatsApp?

Central Bankers From Around The Globe Deliver Hawkish Message At Jackson Hole

For those waiting in anticipation of a sudden central bank reversal on interest rate hikes or full capitulation and a return to stimulus, you might be holding your breath a while longer.

A host of central banking heads from around the world delivered a unified message of hawkish intent on Saturday at the Kansas City Fed’s annual retreat in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The heads of the Bank of England, Swiss National Bank, Bank of Japan, Bank of Korea and several European Central Bank policy makers delivered remarks that sought to unequivocally commit to raising interest rates until inflation meaningfully slows.

This trend follows statements made by Fed Chairman Jerome Powell on Friday which have led 60% of market investors to place bets on another rate hike of 75 basis points in September.

The continued hawkish tone of central bankers flies in the face of previous predictions by many economists that rate hikes and balance sheet cuts would be short lived and that bankers would seek to avoid market turmoil at all costs. This has not been the case, and while considerable attention has been on the Federal Reserve, other central bank policy makers including those at the ECB are also calling for 75 bps rate hikes in September.

The rate hike conundrum is widely understood among alternative economists but rarely discussed in the mainstream. Central banks have engaged in a non-stop program of QE, stimulus measures and near zero interest rates for well over a decade since the credit crash of 2008. Now, stock market, bond markets and many other elements of the global economy are addicted to easy money derived from central bank fiat. Without the printer and digital money creation running non-stop, there is no lifeline for massively indebted corporations, nor will there be cheap overnight loans to support corporate stock buybacks.

These policies have kept many nations and stock markets on financial life support for years, but they have also created the detrimental price inflation the public is now suffering under today. Thus, a Catch-22 scenario has been engineered – If the central banks cut off the easy money and raise interest rates, corporations will lose their lifeline, stock buybacks will plunge, markets will fall and unemployment will rise. If the central banks continue with stimulus and low rates, inflation will only climb higher.

So far it would seem that central bankers are choosing market instability and job losses over more inflation and they have given no indication they plan to reverse course for months to come.

Extreme Caution ⚠️

European Central Bank Chief Blames Climate-Change For Red-Hot Inflation

The Chief of the European Central Bank (ECB) has said that climate change is behind soaring inflation, stating that droughts and famines are driving up prices.

ECB Chief Christine Lagarde made the comments in an interview with the French outlet Madame Figaro, on July 13. An English translation of the interview was published on Aug. 25.

Lagarde said that more climate disasters could see prices rise even further.

“If more and more climate disasters, droughts, and famines occur throughout the world, there will be repercussions on prices, on insurance premiums, and on the financial sector,” Lagarde said.

“We need to take that into account.”

Soaring Inflation

Lagarde’s comments come as inflation has soared across Europe as households have to fork out more for food and energy. Meanwhile, price increases continue to outpace the average rate of wage increases.

The European Union continues to push for a climate change agenda while simultaneously trying to reduce its dependence on Russian gas in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine, despite there being increased energy demand amid a soaring hot summer and limited supplies.

As a result, gas prices have drastically risen in the EU in recent months and show no sign of slowing down. More pain is set to come when the vital Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline that connects western Russia and Germany shuts down for three days of “routine maintenance” at the end of this month.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Lagarde was asked if she feels “any weight of the responsibility” that her decisions have had on the lives of Europeans.

“Yes, absolutely. I still buy my groceries at the supermarket, pay my own bills, including my gas bills, and meet people at the market, as life here at the ECB can be a little removed, disconnected, and punctuated with econometric models and projections. I move forwards with a sense of duty and humility,” she responded.

Chang: China Is Weaponizing Chinese Worldwide To Support The CCP

To make matters worse, the Chinese state has been open about its hostility to the United States. Among other things, in May 2019 People's Daily, the Party's self-described "mouthpiece" and therefore most authoritative publication in China, declared a "people's war" on America.

Many of those "different social systems"—especially the United States—are squeamish when it comes to singling people out because of their race. Yet American policymakers cannot ignore the fact that the Communist Party's appeal to overseas Chinese is overtly race-based.

In February… the Justice Department ended its Trump-era "China Initiative," which concentrated law enforcement efforts on Chinese espionage. Yet given Xi Jinping's call on overseas Chinese to work for the Chinese Communist Party, it is time to reinstitute that program and devote more resources to it.

Can Americans of Chinese descent be loyal to both America and China?

No. China's Communist Party has made itself an existential threat to America and every other society…. The promotion of tianxia [ruling "All under Heaven"] means, among other things, that the Party views the U.S. government as illegitimate and America as nothing more a tributary society or colony.

Although we ["Chinese-Americans"] technically do not have an obligation to prove our loyalty to America, we must, as a group, understand that a hostile power is trying to weaponize us. Xi Jinping has openly called on us to become a subversive force, to help him destroy the country we now call home.

It is time, therefore, for us to begin cleaning our own ranks…. Moreover, it means not shouting "racism" every time law enforcement arrests someone of Chinese descent.

We may think it unfair, but we now have to make a choice.

After all, our country—the United States of America—is in peril because a foreign state—the People's Republic of China—is attacking it and hoping to use us to take it down.

The Communist Party of China refers to us as "overseas patriotic forces." People in our communities will want to know to which country we feel patriotic.

Time to Pay Attention: The FBI is Quickly Starting to Look Like the Gestapo

With every passing day, the United States government borrows yet another leaf from Nazi Germany’s playbook: Secret police. Secret courts. Secret government agencies. Surveillance. Censorship. Intimidation. Harassment. Torture. Brutality. Widespread corruption. Entrapment. Indoctrination. Indefinite detention.

These are not tactics used by constitutional republics, where the rule of law and the rights of the citizenry reign supreme. Rather, they are the hallmarks of authoritarian regimes, where secret police control the populace through intimidation, fear and official lawlessness on the part of government agents.

That authoritarian danger is now posed by the FBI, whose love affair with totalitarianism began long ago. Indeed, according to the New York Times, the U.S. government so admired the Nazi regime that following the second World War, it secretly and aggressively recruited at least a thousand Nazis, including some of Hitler’s highest henchmen as part of Operation Paperclip. American taxpayers have been paying to keep these ex-Nazis on the U.S. government’s payroll ever since.

If the government’s covert, taxpayer-funded employment of Nazis after World War II weren’t bad enough, U.S. government agencies—the FBI, CIA and the military—adopted many of the Third Reich’s well-honed policing tactics, and have used them against American citizens.

Indeed, the FBI’s laundry list of crimes against the American people includes surveillance, disinformation, blackmail, entrapment, intimidation tactics, harassment and indoctrination, governmental overreach, abuse, misconduct, trespassing, enabling criminal activity, and damaging private property, and that’s just based on what we know.

Compare the FBI’s far-reaching powers to surveil, detain, interrogate, investigate, prosecute, punish, police and generally act as a law unto themselves—powers that have grown since 9/11, transforming the FBI into a mammoth federal policing and surveillance agency that largely operates as a power unto itself, beyond the reach of established laws, court rulings and legislative mandates—to its Nazi counterparts, the Gestapo—and then try to convince yourself that the United States is not a totalitarian police state.

Nikolas appeared as “Nicole” on Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101” tv show from 2005 to 2008. The show starred Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of Britney Spears, and dramatized the trials and tribulations of youngsters at a trendy fictional boarding school.

“Zoey 101” and a number of other hit shows of its day were created by notorious Nickelodeon writer and producer Dan Schneider, who has been accused of misconduct, creepiness, and outright pedophilia by a number of former child stars and is said to have a particular fixation on children’s feet, shots of which he regularly included in his television programs.

For years, one of the TV channel’s most recognizable symbols was a gigantic orange footprint with the name Nickelodeon written across it.

Nickelodeon officially cut ties with Schneider in 2018 after allegations made against him started to surface online, despite their best efforts to stifle his underaged accusers with legal documents and cash.

In a memoir recently released by one of Alexa Nikolas’s former Zoey 101 co-stars, Jenette McCurdy, it is detailed that a man named only as “the creator” but widely accepted as being Dan Schneider gave McCurdy alcohol at a young age before pressuring her to accept a “massage” from him. Nickelodeon paid the young girl $300,000 to keep quiet, McCurdy discloses, hence not mentioning the actual name of “the creator” in her memoir.

The familiar squawk of gulls along Portland’s waterfront was drowned out at times last week by a different kind of “bird”: The loud buzz of 6000-horsepower engines attached to several V-22 Osprey aircraft operated by the United States Marine Corps.

The aircraft, whicharrived at the Portland International Jetport a week ago Tuesday, was part of a routine training exercise conducted by the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204 — also known as VMMT 204. The Ospreys began to head back to their home base in New River, North Carolina, on Monday and will continue to do so Tuesday.

“It was a really simple training,” said First Lt. Hudson Sadler, a communications officer for the squadron’s parent unit. “It’s good to get flight training in places that aren’t the same.”

While in Portland, the pilots practiced takeoff and landing procedures, and worked on flying in varied weather conditions. According to Sadler, interstate training is not uncommon for Marine aviators.

“We train in almost every state,” he said. “We’re constantly looking for new places to train to keep the pilots proficient. Not everywhere in the world looks like Eastern North Carolina.”

The training is part of a larger pipeline for prospective Marine pilots. Aviators who have already completed flight training are assigned to training squadrons like VMMT 204 to learn the ins and outs of a specific aircraft before being deployed to an operational unit.

Ospreys are used by the Marine Corps in a variety of roles, including troop transport and supply operations. Unlike other aircraft, Ospreys use a unique tilt-rotor design that allows them to take off vertically. This design allows the aircraft to be used in situations that are challenging for traditional fixed-rotor planes.

“(Ospreys) can take off like a helicopter, and then they can tilt the rotors to go really fast, which allows it to save on fuel and go longer distances,” Sadler said. “We use (Ospreys) for humanitarian aid because we can get supplies around to locations where we don’t have another aircraft in the area to refuel.”

Sadler said operational security-related concerns prevented him from disclosing the number of aircraft in Portland or the squadron’s flight path.

Nonprofit Apologizes For Knowingly Hiring Child Sex Offender To Work With Sex Assault Victims

A nonprofit dedicated to helping survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence apologized for knowingly hiring a registered sex offender to work with victims.

Vera House, located in Syracuse, New York, employed level two registered sex offender Marcus Jackson to work as a victim advocate, CNY Central reported. Jackson mutually parted ways with the nonprofit at the beginning of August.

“We did not make staff aware of the facts surrounding Mr. Jackson’s background when he was hired and they had no role in his employment,” Vera House leaders admitted in a statement issued last week. “That decision was made by two leaders of Vera House’s Advocacy Program and approved by our Executive Director.”

Jackson was hired back in October 2020, when Randi Bregman was serving as the only executive director at the time, CNY Central noted. Bregman has confessed to knowing about Jackson’s 2000 conviction for having sexual contact with two boys, ages 15 and 16, and a 2016 conviction for failing to register as a sex offender as required by Florida law.

Vera House was apparently fine with Jackson’s employment, while stipulating that he not work with victims under 18.

“Jackson was forthcoming about that part of his past,” Vera House admitted. “As a result of this knowledge, there were safeguard procedures in place to prevent contact with a minor, based on our commitment to protect such a vulnerable population.”

A review of his work, though, concluded that Jackson did have contact with at least one minor victim at Vera House last year.

Jackson’s history and employment was uncovered in the press following a complaint from a whistleblower who said the sex offender had contact with victims under 18 years old.

“We regret the decision to hire him and are deeply sorry for the pain and confusion this has caused,” the statement continued. “Our staff deserve to work in a safe, transparent environment. They are rightfully proud of the work they do and news about Mr. Jackson’s history distracts from the important services these professionals provide.”

“We apologize to the people we serve every day,” the organization said. “We will work diligently to earn their trust and serve them in their hour of need. We can and will do better.”

Vera House leaders said conversations have been opened up with staff and others involved with the nonprofit, adding that the group will “initiate a process to increase transparency as we review our hiring, personnel, and governance policies.”

Ford Foundation Has Spent over $100 Million in Support of Amnesty, Mass Migration

The Ford Foundation (FF) has poured over $100 million into a variety of organizations that advocate for mass immigration, amnesty, and a weaker border.

The Foundation has provided immense financial backing for what it calls a “well-coordinated, innovative, and fearless immigrant rights movement.”

They boast that “This movement has secured policies that limit local law enforcement collaboration with federal immigration authorities in more than 600 cities and counties.” The FF partners with regional, state, and local advocacy groups to oppose “the use of criminal justice measures for immigration purposes.”

The FF claims that it supports immigration because it “enriches and deepens America’s democracy by making it more culturally, socially, and politically diverse,” but it is apparent that the foundation hopes to politically mobilize immigrant populations. “We will support immigrant communities and their allies to influence government,” the foundation’s website reads.

In order to both weaken America’s immigration laws and to politically mobilize immigrant populations, the Ford Foundation has given at least $114 million to a variety of nonprofits, activist networks, and other organizations since 2008.

One such network is the Detention Watch Network (DWN), which endeavors to “abolish immigration detention in the United States,” according to a document from the Ford Foundation.

“The network has taken part in the #DefundHate campaign to stop federal funding of aggressive immigration enforcement,” the document also notes.

The FF has given over $3.5 million to the DWN in 2020 and 2021 combined. Both of these two donations were specifically given to assist the organization in their attempt to “abolish immigration detention in the United States.”

Additionally, the FF has given two separate donations to the Tides Center, which were earmarked for the DWN. The donations, given in 2017 and 2018, total $850K. One donation of $450K was intended as “Core support for Detention Watch Network to remove immigration detention as one of the drivers of mass deportation in the US.”

The Detention Watch Network has also received funding from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.

United We Dream is an activist organization that has also received large sums of money from the FF. United We Dream received $20,663,250 from the Ford Foundation between 2006 and 2022. Similarly, United We Dream has also received money from George Soros’ Open Society Foundation.

The organization demands that all illegal immigrants currently in America receive amnesty. They also demand that Immigration and Customs Enforcement, police, and border patrol all get defunded.

E and Lancet study comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated in Sweden was conducted on 1.6 million individuals over nine months. It found that protection against symptomatic COVID-19 declined over time, so that after six months, some of the more vulnerable vaccinated groups were at greater risk than their unvaccinated peers, Globalresearch.ca reports .

Doctors call this phenomenon in the repeatedly vaccinated "immune erosion" or "acquired immune deficiency", which explains the increased incidence of myocarditis and other post-vaccine diseases that affect them either more quickly, resulting in death, or more slowly, with result in chronic illness.

COVID vaccines are not traditional vaccines. Rather, they cause cells to reproduce one part of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the spike protein. The vaccines thus prompt the body to produce spike proteins. A person only makes antibodies against this one limited part (the spike protein) of the virus. This has several adverse consequences.

First, these vaccines incorrectly "train" the immune system to recognize only a small portion of the virus (the spike protein). Variants that differ, even slightly, from this protein can escape the narrow spectrum of antibodies created by the vaccines.

Second, the vaccines lead to "vaccine addicts", ie people become dependent on regular boosters because they have been "vaccinated" against only a small part of a mutating virus. The Australian Minister of Health, Dr. Kerry Chant, has stated that COVID will be with us forever and that people will "have to get used to" taking endless vaccines. “This will be a regular cycle of vaccination and revaccination.”

Third, the vaccines do not prevent infection in the nose and upper respiratory tract, and vaccinees have been shown to have a much higher viral load in these areas. This leads to the vaccinees becoming “super spreaders” as they carry extremely high viral loads.

In addition, the vaccinated become clinically sicker than the unvaccinated. Scotland reported that the death rate from infections among the vaccinated is 3.3 times higher than among the unvaccinated, and that the risk of death from hospitalization is 2.15 times higher than among the unvaccinated.

A June report on Israel's Channel 12 News revealed that in the months since the vaccines were rolled out, 6,765 people who had received both injections had contracted the coronavirus, while epidemiological tracing revealed a further 3,133 people had contracted COVID-19 from those vaccinated persons.

Meanwhile, researchers from the New England Journal of Medicine have discovered that the autoimmune response to the coronavirus spike protein can persist indefinitely: “Ab2 antibodies that bind to the parent receptor on normal cells therefore have the potential to have profound effects on the cell. mediate that can lead to pathological changes, especially in the long term – long after the original antigen itself has disappeared.” These antibodies produced against the coronavirus spike protein could be responsible for the current unprecedented wave of myocarditis and neurological diseases, and even more problems in the future.

So they only reach out to those that are yet unawakened, trying to hold them to their cause, trying to hold them within their control. But they know they cannot do that much longer either.

Have they given up? No. They have not fully given up, for they will certainly not give up until the last one stands. But that is not for you to be concerned about. All that you need to be concerned about is moving ahead, moving on. And letting go of all of those past illusionary understandings: those fears, those hatreds, those jealousies, all of those things that have held you to the illusion, held you to the 3-D matrix up until this point, but no longer.

And not only is it no longer for you, it is no longer for us as well. Because we are seeing what you might call ‘the writing on the wall’ here, that there are many out there that will not awaken. They will not awaken unless they are jarred free. Jarred free, jarred into their freedom.

And they will not go into their freedom until they fully realize that they have not been free. They do not understand that as you understand that. You understand what freedom is all about. But many out there do not understand that. They think they are free, but they realize deep down that they are not, and there is nothing, they think, that they can do about it. But indeed they can, and indeed you can, and indeed we can.

So understand that as things continue to move along, there are going to be those times when we are going to step in more and more. When I say ‘we,’ I am speaking of all of the Forces of Light: the Alliance, those of the Galactic forces, all are coming together in this and are ready to step forward.

You have been hearing this from those of the Galactic ones that have been speaking with you. They have been saying that they are ready to jump at the slightest cause where they can begin to intervene more. And those times are coming where this can indeed happen.

Will it happen? I cannot say for certain here in terms of what the time frame is. But I can tell you that they are prepared. I can tell you that we, as the Ascended Ones, are prepared. I can tell you that all of the Forces of the Alliance are prepared, those of your White Hats, are prepared. They know what is coming, and they have been planning for this for some time now. Even back to the early ancient times, to Atlantis and Lemuria, it goes way back then.

And from then it goes back even further, to lifetimes and systems and galaxies and planets before this, where those of you, those System-Busters that you are and continue to be, you have come from there, and you are here now once again. And we are all working on this together.

So when we are ready to be able to step forward, and that time is coming more and more here when we can indeed step in and assist you more. Because you are asking for it. Those of you, the Forces of Light, and all of you that are the lightworking Light-Warriors, the System-Busters, have been asking for us to step forward more and more. And the more you ask, the more we can do it.

And the more we see that those across the planet are not awakening in time here, then we can begin to intervene more as well. Because they cannot do it for themselves. Once again, they need something to jar them free.

And that is what this is all about: freedom. And the rebirth of your Republic. The Republic, not only of The United States for America all coming together. But for all of the countries across the planet.

Mission

Provide training to Marine, Navy, and Air Force Osprey pilots, Marine crew chiefs and units in the use and maintenance of the MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft.

History

The unit was formed at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, on May 1, 1972. Following the Vietnam War, Marine Helicopter Training Group 40 (MHTG-40) was deactivated and Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron-402 and Marine Heavy Helicopter Training Squadron-401 were combined to form HMT-204.

HMT-204 was originally a composite training squadron, tasked with training both CH-46 and CH-53 pilots. In January 1986, the commanding officer of HMT-204 accepted the first fleet model of the CH-46E Survivability, Reliability and Maintainability (SR&M).

In June 1988, HMT-302 assumed responsibility for training all CH-53 pilots and the last CH-53 departed HMT-204. On 9 November 1988, HMT-204 was awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation (MUC) for meritorious service in support of Fleet Marine Force (FMF) units during 1987. In October 1993, HMT-301 was deactivated and HMT-204 became the single site Fleet Readiness Squadron for the entire Marine Corps CH-46E community. As a result of this transition, HMT-204 earned the distinction of being the largest CH-46E squadron in the Marine Corps. Additionally, October 1993 saw the establishment of the Fleet Replacement Enlisted Skills Training (FREST) Program. HMT-204 FREST provides comprehensive technical training for officers and enlisted in the operation, maintenance and repair of the CH-46E aircraft and associated equipment.

In fulfilling its then primary mission of training all CH-46E pilots and crew chiefs, HMT-204 has trained over 1,800 CH-46E replacement aircrew (basic, refresher, modified refresher and conversion pilots), over 275 instructor pilots and over 450 crew chiefs.

Additionally, over 100 AV-8B pilots have completed the vertical flight familiarization syllabus, in the CH-46. In December 1995, HMT-204 broke new ground for training pilots and crew chiefs in night formation, night vision goggle operations, terrain flight, navigation and formalized aircrew coordination training.

Since being commissioned, HMT-204 amassed over 95,000 CH-46 class "A" mishap-free flight hours. In recognition of this significant achievement, the squadron has been the recipient of the Chief of Naval Operations Safety Award in fiscal years 1977, 1994, and 1997.

In February 1999, HMM(T)-164 was tasked to become the Marine Corps’ Fleet Replacement Squadron for the CH-46E.

MV-22 Osprey from VMMT-204

VMMT-204 received in April 1999, from Raytheon Systems Company, a new motion-based operational flight trainer (OFT) to train Marine Corps and Air Force instructors to fly the Osprey. The OFT will provide the pilot with computer-generated horizontal and vertical visual scenes within a 24-foot dome. Both out-of-window visual scenes and forward-looking infrared imagery are made possible by the OFT's six-channel visual-display system. Its full range of motion also allows pilots to get "a real feel" of both acceleration and deceleration and gives them the opportunity to train in a broad spectrum of simulated environments.

In 1999, the squadron became Fleet Replacement Squadron for MV-22 "Osprey" tilt-rotor pilots and aircrew. The change of aircraft meant a change in designation, so HMT-204 was re-designated VMMT-204. On March 12, 2000 VMMT-204 accepted its first MV-22 Osprey. The squadron conducted MV-22 flight training until December 2000 when a fatal mishap caused USMC leadership to ground the Osprey for its three-year "return to flight period."

CIA Admits to Losing Dozens of Intelligence Assets Around the World

Top American counterintelligence officials sent a memo that warned every CIA station around the world about a troubling number of intelligence assets who had been killed, disappeared, or captured in recent years. The memo actually gave a specific number of agents — a highly unusual inclusion but one that demonstrates the seriousness of the situation.

The CIA is an agency in transition with the focus of intelligence moving from rooting out terrorism in Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan to concentrating on our enemies in Russia and China. But the loss of agents is particularly troubling because there doesn’t seem to be a major intelligence leak. The problem is with the agents themselves.

Acknowledging that recruiting spies is a high-risk business, the cable raised issues that have plagued the agency in recent years, including poor tradecraft; being too trusting of sources; underestimating foreign intelligence agencies, and moving too quickly to recruit informants while not paying enough attention to potential counterintelligence risks — a problem the cable called placing “mission over security.”

The large number of compromised informants in recent years also demonstrated the growing prowess of other countries in employing innovations like biometric scans, facial recognition, artificial intelligence and hacking tools to track the movements of C.I.A. officers in order to discover their sources.

With all our satellites, sophisticated listening devices, and “Gee-Whiz” technology, our best intel is still gathered the old-fashioned way. Human intelligence or “HUMINT” is the best way to give meaning to the raw data that streams into Langley’s supercomputers. That idea was challenged in the late 1970s by Jimmy Carter’s choice to lead the CIA, Adm. Stansfield Turner.

Turner was an unmitigated disaster for the CIA. Admittedly, he took over in 1977 right after the Church Committee discovered CIA abuses and law-breaking. But Turner went to work dismantling the clandestine service, believing that “National Technical Means” like satellites and signals intelligence could do the job of people.

He was proved spectacularly wrong. Turner fired 800 clandestine service officers and reorganized and downgraded the entire CIA operations bureau. It took more than a decade for the agency to recover.

32 Killed In Libya’s Tripoli Clashes, Competing Prime Ministers De-Escalate

On August 28, tensions came to an end in Tripoli as forces loyal to Fathi Bashagha, the interim prime minister of Libya, withdrew from the outskirts of the capital.

The forces withdrew from the April 7 Camp and Bawabat al-Jibs in southern Tripoli. Forces supporting Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, head of the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity, quickly took back both areas.

The surprise withdrawal came following unconfirmed reports of Turkish drone strikes on forces led by Bashagha’s ally Major General Osama al-Juwaili. The forces returned to their previous positions in Bab al-Azizia to the south of Tripoli.

Bashagha forces advanced towards Tripoli in response to clashes between local armed factions in the capital. The fierce clashes, which saw the use of heavy weapons, ended after claiming the lives of 32 people and wounding more than 160 others.

The Libyan government crisis began in February, when Bashagha was selected as prime minister-designate by the eastern-based Libyan House of Representatives. Back then, Dbeibeh, rejected Bashagha’s appointment as prime minister, stating that he will only hand power after a national election.

The crisis reached its peak earlier this week, when Bashagha reiterated his desire to “enter Tripoli, peacefully, in order to prevent blood shed.” Dbeibeh responded by placing his forces in the capital on high alert.

Now, Bashagha and Dbeibeh are reportedly heading to indirect negotiations. However, there are no guarantees that the talks between the two leaders will be successful.

In spite of their previous disagreement, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, is currently backing Bashagha’s claim to the prime minister position. Meanwhile, Turkey is trying to stay neutral as both leaders are considered to be of its close allies in Libya.

Oil-rich Libya has been unstable ever since NATO intervened to overthrow the regime of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, under the pretext of supporting freedom, democracy and human rights.

Meet Christiane Northrup, doctor of disinformation

The Yarmouth obstetrician-gynecologist was once a best-selling self-help author and regular Oprah guest. Now she promotes extreme conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 pandemic, masks and vaccines.

The auditorium at Rhema Bible Training College in suburban Tulsa, Oklahoma, was filled with more than 4,000 unmasked people and onstage sat dozens more when Maine’s celebrity physician, Dr. Christiane Northrup, stepped up to the podium the evening of April 16.

Disgraced Trump campaign adviser Michael Flynn had stood in the same spot four hours earlier, railing to attendees of the Health and Freedom Conference against schoolchildren wearing masks and the validity of the 2020 election. Trump attorney Lin Wood would follow her an hour later, loudly extolling the “truth” of the QAnon conspiracy and urging the execution by firing squad of those who were allegedly kidnapping, raping and eating children, a sprawling cabal of evildoers he claimed included “the Clintons, the Obamas, the Bidens and the Bushes.”

Over the next 20 minutes Northrup – who once regularly graced Oprah Winfrey’s television couch, delivered a commencement address to the University of Maine at Farmington, and practiced obstetrics and gynecology for 26 years in Yarmouth – rattled out a stream of falsehoods: that COVID-19 vaccines don’t prevent the disease but will make humankind sterile and might kill babies breastfed by their vaccinated mothers; that people shouldn’t wear masks but should fear being around vaccinated people, who could infect others with malignant vaccine particles and who are being secretly spied upon with components of the vaccine that covertly relay physiological information to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation via cellphone cameras and a patented mechanism involving cryptocurrency.

For those who remember her as The New York Times best-selling author of “Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom,” a prominent obstetrician-gynecologist and champion of a feminine and intuitive approach to health and well-being, Northrup’s evolution over the past year may startle. She has emerged as one of the nation’s most influential figures in disseminating anti-vaccine conspiracy theories that are complicating the effort to put a lid on the global pandemic, which requires widespread vaccination to deny the virus hosts to propagate, mutate and spread.

With half a million Facebook followers, and hundreds of thousands more on Twitter and, until Thursday, Instagram, Northrup’s increasingly outrageous theories have an enormous reach. The Center for Confronting Digital Hate in late March named her as one of the “disinformation dozen” who collectively generate 65 percent of all anti-COVID-19 vaccine social media shares and up to 73 percent of those on Facebook.

“The typical way anti-vaxxers are portrayed is that they are a disorganized thing, but it’s actually an organized industry of highly capable propagandists,” says the center’s executive director, Imran Ahmed. “The content Northrup produces is dangerous and would lead people to take actions or not take actions which would protect their lives, and it’s unbelievable to see that she continues to have a platform on major social media platforms despite the fact she is a threat to biosecurity.”

One of the nation’s most prominent epidemiologists, Dr. Jennifer Nuzzo of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, said Northrup and the other members of the “disinformation dozen” are causing serious damage.

“I have no doubt that the disinformation has cost us tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of lives – people who have failed to protect themselves because they don’t believe in the virus,” says Nuzzo, who co-wrote a foreword to the center’s report. “Now we have a vaccine that can prevent deaths and hospitalizations. For people not to get vaccinated because they are convinced that the vaccines are bad for them, that’s a human tragedy the magnitude of which is hard to even describe.”

On April 16, U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico called on Twitter and Facebook, which owns Instagram, to act in “a swift and decisive manner” against Northrup and the other members of the “disinformation dozen.”

“For too long, social media platforms have failed to adequately protect Americans by not taking sufficient action to prevent the spread of vaccine disinformation online,” the Democratic senators wrote. “Many of these accounts continue to post content that reach millions of users, repeatedly violating your policies with impunity.”

Northrup’s Instagram account, which had 175,500 followers, was blocked Thursday for purveying disinformation, a Facebook spokesman confirmed Friday. Her Facebook and Twitter accounts remained active.

CONSPIRACIES ABOUT THE VIRUS

Northrup, who allowed her medical license to expire in 2015, did not respond to numerous interview requests. In a recent Facebook video she defended her social media messaging, saying she wouldn’t “believe in unfounded conspiracies and become involved in something that would result in such defamation.”

But in her social media feeds, Northrup has put forward or endorsed a wide range of unfounded and conspiratorial messaging, telling her Facebook followers that vaccinated people might be “owned and controlled” by companies owning patented materials in the vaccine and advising Instagram followers from a Tulsa airport departure lounge April 18 that they should avoid vaccinated people, including spouses, because they could expose them to harmful vaccine materials extruded from their bodies.

“What I would do is choose your friends very carefully and stay away from people who are not on the same page if you possibly can,” she said in the video feed before boarding a flight to return to Maine. “Be with like-minded groups of people.”

On Twitter in November and December she spread false reports on conservative websites claiming scientists had discovered that people not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 don’t spread the disease (they do); that wearing masks causes wearers permanent damage through oxygen depletion; that a “Philly mob boss” had stolen the 2020 election from Donald Trump and might “flip on Biden”; and that the “end game” of those in charge of the pandemic is “genocide.”

The latter post Northrup shared claims the pandemic is planned, a “sinister plot” that aims “to cull a large percentage of the human race and to turn the survivors into a completely controlled army of slaves who own nothing and are dictated to and tracked, traced and monitored 24/7 everywhere, even inside their own homes, which of course they will no longer own.”

One of her more infamous endorsements came on May 5, 2020, when she shared a 26-minute conspiracy video, “Plandemic,” with her Facebook followers. An analysis by The New York Times found Northrup’s share played the key catalyzing role in the phenomenal spread of the slickly produced video, which argued that a secret cabal of elites was using COVID-19 and the vaccines that would be developed to fight it to enrich and empower themselves.

“Once those nanoparticles go in, there’s no detoxing from them, there’s no getting them out of there,” Northrup continued. “They combine with your DNA and you are suddenly programmable, and with the proposed 5G networks the body would be an antenna where you could be controlled from outside of yourself.”

On Nov. 13 she retweeted a post from another member of the “disinformation dozen,” Sherri Tenpenny, that stated the “asymptomatic carrier con” was “the most evil genius ever devised to create a mass of subservient unthinking obedient slaves that are willing to give up being human just to stay ‘safe.’” Northrup prefaced the retweet with her own comment: “This is just plain TRUE! A crime against humanity.”

Her ungrounded theories have real-world impacts. In April a private Miami school her grandchildren attend, Centner Academy, announced it would no longer employ anyone who had received COVID-19 vaccinations. The school cited debunked information that echoed Northrup’s recent talking points in Tulsa and on social media: that “tens of thousands of women” were experiencing “adverse reproductive issues simply from being in close proximity with those who have received any one of the COVID-19 injections.”

“No one knows exactly what may be causing these irregularities, but it appears that those who have received the injections may be transmitting something from their bodies to those with whom they come in contact,” the school’s statement continued.

None of the COVID-19 vaccines have been linked to reproductive or neonatal problems, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise pregnant women to get vaccinated.

“She’s spread a bunch of lies abut the safety of these vaccines, so obviously this can lead to more and more people catching the virus and more and more people getting sick and dying from it,” says Jonathan Jarry of the McGill University Office for Science and Society, who tracks scientific disinformation and has followed Northrup’s social media evolution.

“The larger picture is that she tells her followers to trust their gut and their intuition and to not stop and think carefully about things first but to trust the first answer that pops into your head,” Jarry adds. “That’s dangerous, because there’s a lot of things in our world that are not intuitive.”

Over the past quarter-century, Northrup’s path has led her fromOprah’s couch to the QAnon stage. A native of Buffalo, New York, and graduate of the Dartmouth Medical School, she has said she always had skepticism about conventional (and often male-dominated) approaches to medicine. In 1986 she opened a private practice in Yarmouth, Women to Women, that combined conventional and alternative medicine and helped pioneer the women’s health movement in Maine.

She catapulted into national celebrity after the publication of “Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom” in 1994, which was a New York Times best-seller, sold 1.6 million copies, was translated into 17 languages and landed her as a regular guest as a wellness expert on Oprah Winfrey’s and Dr. Oz’s showsOprah credited another of Northrup’s best-selling books, “The Wisdom of Menopause,” with inspiring her to lose weight and get in shape.

“She was able to go from a fairly straight-laced gynecologist with a legitimate practice and the social status that came with it to branching out to a national and international network of new age publishing and conferences,” says cult researcher Matthew Remski, co-host of the Conspirituality podcast, who has followed Northrup’s career. “When she comes out with ‘Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom,’ she is playing this edge between offering fairly conventional medical advice and also opening her audience up to the idea that Chinese herbs and acupuncture might also be effective.”

Northrup stressed alternative therapies and was skeptical of vaccines long before the pandemic struck. In 2006 she began speaking out against what she saw as dangers with Gardasil, the HPV vaccine, and encouraged parents not to have their daughters receive it and to focus on good health and nutrition instead.

But by her own account to a QAnon podcaster, it was Maine’s 2019 law removing religious and philosophical vaccination exemptions for students and school and nursery school staff that made her become “very galvanized” around vaccination and certain public health mandates. When she went to testify against the bill on March 13 of that year, she was flabbergasted by the presence of so many experts supporting it.

“My colleagues get up there (like) someone inserted a tape deck into their head and said – this is the official narrative – ‘vaccines are safe and effective, and we need them for public health,’” she told the host of the QAnon FAQ podcast on May 20 of last year. “And I’m looking around at the people and the narrative and the science, and I’m thinking, ‘Am I in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”?'” – a reference to the movie set in a mental health institution.

When the coronavirus hit the United States in March 2020, Northrup quickly became convinced something nefarious was at work. Confined to her house at the end of March, she spent a lot of her energy in the first month of the crisis taking care of her terminally ill boyfriend until his death April 21. Then the themes of her social media feed began to take a darker turn.

“There was this slow but steady merger between her previously held New Age fascinations and anti-vaccinations beliefs with a lot of influences from either QAnon or Q-adjacent influencers on the internet,” says Remski, with her sharing of the “Plandemic” video on May 5 marking a sharp inflection point. ‘We have no idea where she was spending her time online, but it was pretty clear that she started functioning as a gateway between the QAnon world and more mainstream circles.”

By the time of her May 20 QAnon FAQ interview, Northrup was already suspicious of the pandemic, claiming that social distancing was “ridiculous,” that COVID-19 could be cured with vitamins, and that Maine Medical Center in Portland had shut down its COVID-19 wing. “I think there’s a dark agenda behind all of this,” she told the host. “I really can’t think anything else.”

China Launches Giant Cloud-Seeding Drones To Combat Record Drought

With China’s water supply rapidly deteriorating to catastrophic levels – something which could have profound effects on the global food, energy and materials markets – officials in the southwestern province of Sichuan have deployed two giant cloud-seeding drones in the hopes of turning around a dire situation which is now affecting hydropower production.

The Wing Loong-2H UAVs are deploying silver iodide flame bars during four-hour flights to create “artificial rain.”

The move comes as almost half the country is suffering from a record heatwave, according to its National Climate Center – has has affected Sichuan province’s ability to deliver hydropower to cities like Jiangsu and Shanghi, located more than 1,000 miles away, Insider reports.

To improve the situation, the two drones deployed on Thursday will eventually cover an area in Sichuan spanning 2,317 square miles, according to state-owned CCTV. The cloud seeding operation will be carried out until Monday.

Communist Party-owned People’s Daily also reported the news.

Since the beginning of the month, hydropower plants in Sichuan have been forced to operate below 50% of normal capacity, leading to power cuts in the province and forcing companies like Toyota and Apple supplier Foxconn to suspend operations, according to Caixin news.

In some instances, groundwater levels have gotten so low that underground aquifers have collapsed – triggering a phenomenon called Land Subsidence, which can cause the ground to cave in over large areas, which in some case renders the aquifer unusable in the future.

The drought has also damaged crops and threatened the fall harvest, forcing China to compete for exports in an already-inflated market. As we noted earlier this week, 60% of China’s wheat, 45% of its corn, 35% of its cotton and 64% of its peanuts come from the at-risk North China Plain – where, in the example of wheat, their annual production of more than 80 million tons is on par with Russia’s annual output, while their 125 million tons of corn is nearly 3x Ukraine’s prewar production.

In order to sustain these harvests, water is being pumped to farms faster than nature can replenish it. According to satellite data, between 2003 and 2010, Northern China lost as much groundwater as Beijing consumes annually – leaving farmers struggling to find new sources.

By the time she spoke in Oklahoma last month, Northrup’s contrarian pandemic message had further crystallized. “Do not allow yourself to get trampled by the lemmings running toward the cliff,” she told the audience, referring to people seeking vaccinations. “You are going to have the DNA that reseeds the planet, OK? You are going to have to do it. The rest of them there, there’s no going back. Do not chase people into burning buildings.”

Nuzzo, the Johns Hopkins epidemiologist, hopes other social media platforms take action against Northrup and the other members of the dozen. “It’s clear to me that this is an asymmetric fight, because doctors and nurses and public health agencies don’t have the resources to combat this false information on their own,” she says. “We can’t communicate our way out of this spiral if there are these highly organized groups, and we in the public health community just can’t match their reach.”
