Child sex-crime epidemic in K-12, one arrest per day so far this year: report

"The question for critics who seek to downplay the extent of public-school sexual abuse is this: How many arrests need to happen before you consider it a problem?"

With nearly 270 public educators arrested on child sex-related crimes in the first nine months of 2022, this is a largely hidden and widespread epidemic that is receiving far too little attention. The crimes range from grooming to raping underage students.

According to Fox News Digital, this epidemic is averaging approximately one arrest per day. The number includes four principals, two assistant principals, 226 teachers, 20 teacher's aides and 17 substitute teachers, according to Fox News. Three-quarters of the arrests involved alleged crimes against students. Men made up approximately 80% of the arrests.

Among the most egregious examples cited is the case of Eugene Pratt, 57, a former principal, elementary school teacher and coach who taught at-risk youth in multiple Michigan public schools. He was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct in August and stands accused of sexually assaulting at least 15 boys and young adult men over the course of his career.

"The number of teachers arrested for child sex abuse is just the tip of the iceberg — much as it was for the Catholic Church prior to widespread exposure and investigation in the early 2000s," Christopher Rufo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "The best available academic research, published by the Department of Education, suggests that nearly 10% of public school students suffer from physical abuse between kindergarten and twelfth grade."

"According to that research, the scale of sexual abuse in the public schools is nearly 100 times greater than that of the Catholic Church," he said. "The question for critics who seek to downplay the extent of public-school sexual abuse is this: How many arrests need to happen before you consider it a problem? How many children need to be sexually abused by teachers before you consider it a crisis?"

According to the outlet, there are approximately 3.2 million public school teachers in the country, meaning that the arrests counted in this study, which were only those that were publicized, make up only 0.009% of all teachers. But it also means that the actual number of crimes and victims is likely much higher.

Scott Morrison has signed with a talent agency that charges organisations up to $100,000 for speaking engagements with “global thought leaders”.

The former Prime Minister has joined US-based Worldwide Speakers Group (WWSG) to exclusively facilitate his global speaking engagements, the company announced on Friday.

Average American is losing $34K and everything else on Biden’s watch

Have you taken a peek at the balance in your 401(k) retirement accounts lately? Here’s our advice: Don’t bother. It will ruin your whole day, week and month.

Here’s why: We’ve now had seven straight months of 8%+ inflation. A year ago we were assured by the White House economic wizards that these rapid price increases in everything from groceries, to rental cars, to gasoline at the pump, to health insurance were merely “transitory.” Whoops.

The most immediate sticker shock from Bidenflation, of course, has been to shrink real take-home paychecks of workers. We have calculated that over the past 20 months, this rise in consumer prices over wages means that the average family in America has lost nearly $6,000 in purchasing power. This from the Lunch Bucket Joe president who promised to help boost the incomes of the middle class. When, exactly?

But this pay-cut effect on family incomes is only part of the curse of runaway inflation.

We’ve just completed an analysis of how the highest inflation rate in almost 40 years has impacted the retirement funds of ordinary Americans. Here is what we found.

Savings collapse

Not surprisingly, since President Biden took office, monthly savings have collapsed, falling 83%. (We could never understand how Biden could say with a straight face that Americans are saving more. His “transformation” of the US economy has had just the opposite effect.) Many millions of Americans who are living paycheck to paycheck just don’t have the money after paying the inflated bills to save much.

But to add insult to injury, even what has been already saved and invested by older Americans over past years and even over several decades has been erased from these accounts.

Thanks to the thief of inflation.

Most of the 150 million Americans with one form or another of retirement savings have invested the majority of those tens of thousands of dollars in stocks. The major stock indices are all way down since Biden came into office. Here are the returns as of Oct. 10, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis:

NASDAQ: -18%

S&P 500: -6%

These negative returns don’t even take account of inflation. Doing so adds roughly another 13% or so to these stock losses. Inflation also hurts returns from bonds — which typically account for between 20% and 40% of retirement fund investments. That is because, as we are now seeing, higher inflation means higher interest rates, which lower the value of the bonds you own.

Biden insists US economy is ‘strong as hell’ as he munches an ice cream cone

Tie it all together and we calculate that since the start of this year, 401(k) plans have suffered $2.1 trillion in losses. The average 401(k) plan had over $135,000 at the start of this year. Today, those assets have shrunk on average to about $101,000.

In other words, the average 401(k) plan is down about $34,000 — more than 25% in less than one year!

(In terms of purchasing power, inflation also has brought the “real value,” in 2021 dollars, of the average 401(k) down another $5,000, from $101,000 to $96,000).

Let’s say you are doing a little better than average financially and you have a 401(k) plan with $300,000 saved up. You’re still far from “rich.” Your nest egg losses this year are likely to be above $75,000.

There goes the down payment on that retirement home or condo in Florida or Arizona.

But these numbers don’t even take account of losses in other pension/retirement accounts.

More traditional pension funds also are getting flattened by inflation. At the beginning of this year, pensions in the US had $27.8 trillion in assets. Now, it’s under $24 trillion, a drop of about 15% that has wiped out the last two years’ worth of gains — nearly $4 trillion.

Many union and government pension funds were already facing financial shortfalls to be able to pay promised benefits. The combination of high inflation and a bear market in stocks means insolvency is a real threat. Some may need bailouts or will have to sharply cut promised benefits.

A year ago, the White House insultingly tweeted out that inflation is merely “a high-class problem.” Wrong. The victims of ever higher prices at the store and the gas pump are not the millionaires, but the little guys — and, in particular, older Americans — whose paychecks and savings accounts get walloped.

It’s not exactly the same as a bank robber with a gun stealing a quarter of the money in your bank account. But at the end of the day, Bidenflation has had the exact same unhappy result.

‘Charity’ Caught Giving Hurricane Ian Donations to Democrat Candidates

A phony “charity” that has been collecting donations for Hurricane Ian victims has been exposed as a shill to raise money for Democrat politicians in Florida, according to reports.

The scam was revealed by DeSantis War Room, a group that advocates for Florida’s Republican incumbent Gov. Ron Desantis.

An investigation revealed that the website IanResponse.org has been funneling all of its donations into the election campaigns of Democratic politicians in Florida.

Those Democrats that benefitted from the scam include gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist, Rep. Val Demings, who is challenging GOP Sen. Marco Rubio, and others.

In a tweet on Thursday, DeSantis War Room highlighted a media report that a group called Florida for All had purchased more than $100,000 in ads to attack DeSantis and other GOP candidates.

Florida for All is financially backed by a left-wing group called Florida Rising, according to DeSantis War Room.

DeSantis War Room described Florida Rising as a “far-left revolutionary syndicate dedicated to demonizing law enforcement, defunding police, promoting ‘safe’ drug abuse & threatening political violence.

“They endorsed @CharlieCrist… like [President Joe] Biden, he is a puppet for radicals.”

The account also noted that Florida Rising was recently condemned for its “anti-police” rhetoric by 30 Florida sheriffs

tax-exempt contributions.

The suggestion is that Florida Ian Response Fund is a veiled disguise to raise money for Florida Rising.

“As Floridians continue to rebuild and recover, we strongly urge those who want to help to give to reputable organizations positioned to help people, not political organizations using this money ‘to win elections and change laws,’” the Republican Senate committee said in a statement.

DeSantis War Room added on Twitter “DISGUSTING: After Hurricane Ian made landfall, Democrat anti-police group Florida Rising began fundraising off of the catastrophic storm.

“They pushed donors to ianresponse.org, claiming to be ‘for rebuilding & recovery after #HurricaneIan’ BUT donations went to ActBlue!”

“’Ianresponse.org’ is NOT a registered charity,” DeSantis War Room added.

“It’s a left-wing dark money activist fund.”

“Scamming people who want to help hurricane victims = the lowest of the low,” the account continued.

BlueSky offers DePaul a modernized and synchronized application platform based on an internet-based system vs. an intranet-based system for data applications (e.g., PeopleSoft). This cloud-based system offers many benefits to the university, including:

Twitter executives approved of the initiative's scope and goals, which include what the protocol itself should encompass and what should be left to applications (the social networks built atop the standard). Some of these goals include letting applications customize their system of moderation, making applications responsible for compliance and takedown requests, and preventing virality algorithms from reinforcing controversy and moral outrage. The working group did not have a common consensus towards these goals, so Twitter decided to field individual proposals, which ranged from reinforcing existing standards to endorsing standard interoperability, letting usage data decide where to invest. In early 2021, Bluesky was in a research phase, with 40–50 people from the decentralized technology community active in assessing options and assembling proposals for the protocol. The hired project manager will assemble the team of protocol developers.[2]

Twitter's blockchain division, newly announced in November 2021, will work with the Bluesky initiative.[5]

In March 2022, Bluesky announced three of their first employees. Aaron Goldman, who had previously worked for Google and Twitter, was hired as a security engineer. Paul Frazee and Daniel Holmgren were hired as protocol engineers.[6]

On April 15, 2022, Jack Dorsey acknowledged that the initial progress on the project from the first developers was off to a slow start.[7]

On April 26, 2022, Bluesky put out a statement saying that the project will remain unaffected by Elon Musk's proposed takeover of Twitter, stating that Bluesky has been independently operating as a public benefit limited liability company since February of that year. This gives Bluesky the freedom to put their resources toward their mission without an obligation to return money to shareholders.[8]

In May 2022, Bluesky released the code for an experimental personal data server and a command-line client alongside an high-level overview of the network architecture. They also revealed that they will begin to share the platform's development process, before the process is complete. [9]

Why Russia's Hypersonic Missiles Can't Be Seen on Radar

According to Popular Mechanics, even if a U.S. ship were to detect a Zircon missile from 100 miles away, it would have only one minute to do something about it.

In order to intercept a Russian Zircon missile, the U.S. would either need to intercept it at launch or fly an object into its path.

Russia's shift to hypersonic weapons is likely a means of contending with American superiority in size, technology and sheer number of aircraft carriers. The U.S. Navy intends to maintain a force of 12 nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.

The age of Russian superweapons is upon us – at least that's what President Vladimir Putin wants us to believe.

And they are cause for concern because the United States' traditional early warning systems might not be able to see those weapons coming.

Hypersonic weapons such as Russia's 3M22 Zircon fly so fast and low at speeds of up to Mach 6 and at a low atmospheric-ballistic trajectory that they can penetrate traditional anti-missile defense systems.

The missile flies with an advanced fuel that the Russians say gives it a range of up to 1,000 kilometers. And it's so fast that the air pressure in front of the weapon forms a plasma cloud as it moves, absorbing radio waves and making it practically invisible to active radar systems.

U.S. Aegis missile interceptor systems require 8-10 seconds of reaction time to intercept incoming attacks. In those 8-10 seconds, the Russian Zircon missiles will already have traveled 20 kilometers, and the interceptor missiles do not fly fast enough to catch up.

Experts say such weapons are currently impossible for the USA to defend against.

The United States will launch a new testing programme for hypersonic weapons, as it seeks to catch up with China and Russia in the arms race.
