Creating an office of subnational diplomacy within the State Department will enable the U.S. government to leverage the global leadership and experience of mayors and governors while advancing its domestic agenda.

Anthony Fauci has reemerged from retirement and urged the Biden administration to implement a “strict lockdown” this winter for all unvaccinated Americans.

The disgraced government bureaucrat appeared at a university virtual event recently titled, “Pandemic Lessons and Role of Faculty in Pandemic Preparedness with Dr. Anthony Fauci.”

At her first appearance in the criminal case against Donald Trump for his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 election, U.S. District Court Judge Tanya S. Chutkan repeatedly warned the former president’s lawyers that politics would not be tolerated in her courtroom.

“The fact that [Trump is] running a political campaign has to yield to the orderly administration of justice,” Chutkan said during the August 11 hearing. “If that means he can’t say exactly what he wants to say about witnesses in this case, that’s how it has to be.”

But even as she warns Trump about his “inflammatory” language, Chutkan has routinely issued politically charged rulings and made incendiary statements of her own while presiding over some 30 cases involving Trump supporters charged in connection with the Jan. 6, 2021, melee at the U.S. Capitol.

A review of thousands of pages of hearing transcripts reveal that Chutkan has repeatedly expressed strong and settled opinions about the issues at the heart of United States v. Donald Trump – the criminal case she is now presiding over.

These include her public assertions that the 2020 election was beyond reproach, that the Jan. 6 protests were orchestrated by Trump, and that the former president is guilty of crimes. She has described Jan. 6 as a “mob attack” on “the very foundation of our democracy” and branded the issue at the heart of the case she is hearing – Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was stolen – a conspiracy theory.

Although judges often make comments from the bench, Chutkan’s strident language raises questions about her impartiality in handling the case against the presumptive GOP nominee for president in 2024.

The U.S. code that addresses grounds for recusal states, ”Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.” One reason to recuse is if the judge has demonstrated “a personal bias or prejudice concerning a party.”

GOP Rep. Matthew Gaetz of Florida recently filed a resolution to condemn and censure Chutkan for exhibiting “open bias and partisanship in the conduct of her official duties as a judge.”

But if the aim among Trump loyalists is to get a new judge assigned to the case, it’s a steep legal hurdle. Stephen Gillers, a professor of law at New York University, said that typically a judge can be recused for bias or the appearance of bias “only when the purported bias comes from a source outside the judge's work as a judge.” He continued, “Almost never will a judge be recused for opinions she forms as a judge – in hearing cases and motions. Judges are expected to form opinions based on these 'intrajudicial' sources. It's what judges do.” 

A Trump representative declined to comment about Judge Chutkan’s potential bias. The chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the American Bar Association did not respond to requests for comment. Nor did Chutkan.

Appointed by Barack Obama to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in 2013, Chutkan has been one of the toughest judges on Jan. 6 defendants. In several cases, she has given defendants longer prison terms than recommended by prosecutors. In at least two cases she sentenced defendants to jail time when prosecutors only sought probation. Chutkan herself admitted during a July 2022 court hearing that she is “one of the few judges that's given a lot of terms of incarceration” in Jan 6. cases.

On at least one occasion, Chutkan suggested in open court that Trump should have been charged for his alleged role in what she routinely describes as “an attempt to overthrow the government” on Jan. 6. 

Before sentencing Christine Priola, a Trump supporter from Ohio who pleaded guilty to obstruction of an official proceeding, to 15 months in jail, Chutkan appeared to lament the fact Trump was not yet in prison. “[The] people who mobbed that Capitol were there in fealty, in loyalty, to one man – not to the Constitution, of which most of the people who come before me seem woefully ignorant, not to the ideals of this country, and not to the principles of democracy,” Chutkan said on Oct. 28, 2022. “It's a blind loyalty to one person who, by the way, remains free to this day." (Emphasis added.)

Gates Foundation Pushes National Digital ID Tech

The digital era, with its myriad of innovations, has ushered in a wave of conveniences – but at what cost? The recent advocacy by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for the Modular Open-Source Identification Platform (MOSIP) will now be under scrutiny by privacy advocates, questioning the broader implications of such a global digital identification system.

 

The Seattle-based Gates Foundation, guided by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, has actively endorsed MOSIP’s undertakings with a sizable $10 million pledge.

 

The Foundation’s aim seems to focus on propelling a universal digital identification framework, especially targeting low to middle-income economies. But as history has shown, with such advancements often come potential pitfalls, particularly regarding personal privacy.

 

The MOSIP initiative, although modeled after India’s controversial state digital ID (Aadhaar) system initiated in 2009, prompts a plethora of concerns.

 

While Aadhaar spurred global interest, the unique challenges faced by different countries meant that many had to grapple with potentially expensive and less transparent commercial systems, resulting in “vendor lock-in” and potential misuse of user data.

 

MOSIP, since its inception in 2018, presents itself as a remedy to these challenges, promoting its accessibility and adaptability to different nations.

 

While the Philippines led in its adoption, 11 countries, predominantly from Africa, have followed suit. However, with over 90 million digital IDs already distributed across the Philippines, Ethiopia, and Morocco, the magnitude of data collection and the potential risks associated with breaches or misuse become alarmingly evident.

 

Adapting MOSIP to each nation’s unique requirements means collecting and customizing vast amounts of personal data. The system, despite its boasts of an 80+ vendor ecosystem, raises red flags.

 

The higher the number of vendors, the greater the potential access points for data breaches. Although MOSIP offers complimentary training, product showcases, and a certification process, the complexities of managing multiple vendors across various countries can jeopardize the sanctity of personal data.

 

MOSIP’s ambitious plan to register 1 billion individuals in the coming decade only intensifies the concerns. While the Gates Foundation views digital ID systems as integral to fostering digital public infrastructure (DPI) that can, in theory, stimulate economic growth, the risks to personal privacy cannot be ignored.

 

Though DPI promises to streamline transactions for individuals and governments, its adoption without robust privacy safeguards can lead to potential misuse, surveillance, and unwarranted data access.

 

Personal data has become as valuable as gold and the push for such extensive digital ID systems, with such global intentions, needs to be critically examined. Privacy remains a fundamental right, and any compromise on it, however advanced or innovative the reason, deserves rigorous scrutiny. Digital ID in general undermines privacy.

Chutkan accused Matthew Mazzocco, another Jan. 6 defendant, of choosing Trump over the country. In rejecting Mazzocco’s argument that he traveled from Texas to Washington to engage in a legal political demonstration, Chutkan declared at his October 2021 sentencing hearing: “He went there to support one man who he viewed had the election taken from him. In total disregard of a lawfully conducted election, he went to the Capitol in support of one man, not in support of our country or in support of democracy.”

Although Mazzocco only spent 12 minutes inside the Capitol and committed no violence, Chutkun rejected the government’s recommendation of three months home confinement for pleading guilty to “parading” in the Capitol, a Class B misdemeanor, and instead sentenced Mazzocco to 45 days in jail.

Despite President Trump’s explicit request that his supporters march “peacefully and patriotically” to the Capitol, Chutkan blamed Trump for the Jan. 6 violence while sentencing Robert Palmer, who pleaded guilty in June 2021 to one count of assaulting police officers with a dangerous weapon (a fire extinguisher). In that case, Palmer’s lawyer sought a reduced prison sentence by echoing the judge’s view of Trump.

“Mr. Palmer went to the Capitol at the behest of the former president,” attorney Bjorn E. Brunvand wrote in a December 2021 sentencing memo to Chutkan. “Like many others who participated in the Capitol riot, Mr. Palmer blindly followed the many figures who falsely but persistently claimed that the election had been stolen from the president.”

Palmer himself told Chutkan that Trump’s claims about a “stolen” 2020 election prompted him to travel from his Tampa home to the nation’s capital to participate in the Capitol protest. In a handwritten note dated November 2021, Palmer told Chutkan that he realized “Trump supporters were lied to by those that at the time had great power meaning the then sitting president, as well as those acting in his behalf.”

Palmer apologized to Chutkan for his conduct and begged for mercy.

His plea fell on deaf ears. Although Chutkan expressed no sympathy for Palmer, whom she sent to prison for more than five years, she amplified Palmer’s assertions that Trump bore some responsibility:

And it is true, Mr. Palmer you have made a very good point, one that has been made before – that the people who exhorted you and encouraged you and rallied you to go and take action and to fight have not been charged. That is not this court's position. I don't charge anybody. I don't negotiate plea offers. I don't make charging decisions. I sentence people who have pleaded guilty or have been convicted. The issue of who has or has not been charged is not before me. I don't have any influence on that. I have my opinions, but they are not relevant. And you're correct in that no one who was encouraging everybody to take the Capitol has been charged as of yet, but I don't think that fact means that you should get a lower sentence.

Actions by officials on Maui have contributed to an air of suspicion about the handling of the Lahaina fire that killed over 100 and left around 1000 people unaccounted for, including many children. Media access is tightly controlled, drones are grounded for getting too close to the suspected origin site of the fire and now satellite images from the fire have been taken down from a news site. The censorship incident appears to be isolated but troubling just the same. The photos were widely published and remain online elsewhere.

 

A Gateway Pundit reader sent in a tip (thank you) that an interactive satellite map APP comparing before and after photos of Lahaina has been taken down. The map was featured in a news article by Scooty Nickerson with the Bay Area News Group headlined: Interactive Maui wildfire map: Before and after images of Lahaina show scale of devastation

The maui incident really disturbs me.

I'm all for helping people who need help unexpectantly.

They knew ahead of time that this was going to happen. hence why the kids had no school.

When Ramaswamy accepted the award in 2011, he was a first-year law student at Yale and had been working for several years as an investment analyst at the hedge fund QVT Financial, according to FOX News.

 

However, recent revelations regarding Ramaswamy’s financial records paint a different picture. In the same year he accepted the award, Ramaswamy reported $2,252,209 in total income, according to his tax returns. He also reported a total of $1,173,690 in income in the three years prior.

 

His campaign’s spokesperson, Tricia McLaughlin, defended Ramaswamy’s decision, emphasizing that the scholarship was a generic one that hundreds of students win to attend graduate school.

 

“Vivek would have been a fool to turn down that scholarship – Anyone who would have shouldn’t get anywhere near the White House doing trade deals,” she told Fox News Digital.

China ‘on the right side of history’ – Xi

 

‘Hegemonism’ isn’t in Beijing’s nature, the leader has said

 

China will continue to pursue an independent foreign policy while building a shared future for mankind, President Xi Jinping has said. He insisted that Beijing is standing “on the right side of history.”

 

In an address prepared for the BRICS Business Forum in South Africa, Xi stated that “hegemonism is not in China’s DNA; nor does China have any motivation to engage in major-power competition.”

 

Xi is among the leaders in Johannesburg for the 15th BRICS summit, and held talks with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday. However, the Chinese president did not personally attend the BRICS Business Forum held on the same day, and his speech was read out by Beijing’s commerce minister, Wang Wentao.

 

Xi insisted that China will remain committed to a peaceful and independent foreign policy, with the aim of “building a community with a shared future for mankind.” He added that “our door is wide open to anyone who wants to engage in cooperation with us.”

 

“China stands firmly on the right side of history, and believes that a just cause should be pursued for the common good,” the Chinese leader said.

 

Prosperity and development must be promoted for all members of the international community, “but some country, obsessed with maintaining its hegemony, has gone out of its way to cripple the EMDCs (emerging markets and developing countries),” Xi claimed, in apparent reference to the US.

 

He argued that any attempts to contain developing countries would be “futile,” and that “the collective rise of EMDCs represented by BRICS is fundamentally changing the global landscape.” Xi also noted that EMDCs have contributed up to 80% of global growth in the past 20 years.

 

BRICS, which currently comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, should be expanded further, Xi insisted, stating: “I am glad to note that over 20 countries are knocking on the door of BRICS. China hopes to see more joining the BRICS cooperation mechanism.”

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who addressed the BRICS summit via video link on Wednesday, also said that Moscow was “against any hegemony [and] the notion of exceptionalism promoted by some nations.”

First thing to consider is what type of "work" do you need the machine to do? Graphics intensive for things like Presentations, which a Mac is better at, or Text intensive where a Microsoft will do fine.

Honestly, I have not looked much into that open source Linux operating system so really can't voice any opinion on it.

Building your own means doing your homework into which components are compatible with each other.

An option many do not know of is there are companies out there that will take older business machines, slick the hard drives, maybe upgrade the CPU, and then resell the machine. I'm talking about things like the laptops used by Insurance Adjusters and Salesmen when out in the Field. Company policy is to replace them after 3 to 5 years in most cases. There's nothing wrong with them, just not the "latest and greatest." Getting one as "bare bones" can be helpful since you can then download what software you desire and avoid packing in a bunch of "bloatware."

All comes back to what you want the machine to do for you.

Germany Proceeding With Plan to Make Citizenship Easier to Encourage More Migrants

 

Germany plans to ease citizenship rules under legislation approved Wednesday by the Cabinet, a project that the government contends will bolster the integration of immigrants and help an economy that is struggling with a shortage of skilled workers.

 

The legislation passed by Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his ministers still requires approval from the lower house of parliament, where the socially liberal three-party coalition has a comfortable majority. It could take effect in January, depending on how quickly that happens.

 

The government plans to make people eligible for citizenship after five years in Germany, or three in case of “special integration accomplishments,” rather than eight or six years at present. German-born children would automatically become citizens if one parent has been a legal resident for five years, down from eight years now.

 

Restrictions on holding dual citizenship will also be dropped. In principle, most people from countries other than European Union members and Switzerland now have to give up their previous nationality when they gain German citizenship, though there are some exemptions.

 

“We are creating a modern immigration law that does justice to our diverse society – and, I may add, finally,” Interior Minister Nancy Faeser told reporters in Berlin. She said the reform follows years of debates that “unfortunately were often marked by exclusion, resentment and cheap propaganda,” and that applicants for citizenship “will no longer be forced to give up part of their identity.”

Another Food Processing Plant Burns To The Ground

 

The American Plant Food Corporation’s fertilizer plant in Bartlett, Texas, near Round Rock, reportedly caught fire around 8:30 p.m. on August 20th. The plant has since burned to the ground.

 

The Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department received a call to come put it out at 9901 North Highway 95. The fertilizer plant is said “vital to the local community” and to Texas state.

 

Because of voluminous hazardous and highly flammable chemicals at the plant, firefighters decided it was best to not try to extinguish the flames with water as they typically would for other types of fires. “Hazard crews were on site all night, including Temple who was monitoring overnight until Round Rock hazard crews came to relieve them,” Wentrcek told the media according to a report by Natural News.

 

Despite the severity of the fire, Highway 95, which runs alongside the plant, remains open. Bartlett Independent School District likewise remains open and has not canceled classes as air quality has been deemed as “good.”

 

“We did make the determination to keep school in session because we felt there was no danger for the children or the citizens in the area,” said Wentrcek about the decision.

 

Both the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Texas Emergency Management were on the scene as well, with TCEQ testing air quality and providing guidance to fire crews about how best to protect the surrounding environment.

 

The American Plant Food Corporation currently operates 11 different locations across Texas – well, 10 now that the Bartlett plant, which first opened in the late 1990s, is out of commission for the foreseeable future.

Disturbing video shows woman chained by the neck to the floor of a Kentucky home being rescued by police

 

A woman was rescued by police after she was chained by her neck to the floor in a home in Kentucky.

 

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department said they responded to a call at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday about a woman yelling for help from the second story of a home in Park Hill.

 

Body camera footage shows the officers trying to make entry into the home before finding a ladder to climb through the second-story window into the room where the woman was being held. She had been able to break the window out to call for help.

 

Video shows police finding the distraught woman with a chain secured around her neck with a padlock. The chain led down to the floor, where it was attached to prevent her from escaping.

 

Police used a hatchet to free the chain from the floor and later used bolt cutters to cut the chains from her neck.

 

The victim was identified as 37-year-old Jonna Wilson. She said that her estranged boyfriend had chained her up and threatened to kill her.

 

Wilson told WDRB-TV that the man had chopped her hair with a machete and beaten her before chaining her to the floor. She also said that he burned all her clothes.

 

"By leaving the victim chained up in the house with no way of calling for help or leaving, [the suspect] manifested an extreme indifference to the value of human life," the arrest citation read.

 

Police said they arrested 36-year-old Moises May two days later. May was charged with kidnapping, wanton endangerment, assault (domestic violence), intimidating a participant in the legal process, terroristic threatening, and physical harassment. May was held on a $100,000 bond.

 

Wilson says she has a 1-year-old daughter with the man.

 

"I just want to see him get in jail," Wilson said. "I just want justice, I want my daughter to be OK."

Government-Funded Science Journal Admits Over 2,600 of its Papers May Have ‘Exaggerated Claims’

 

A top science journal that receives funding from the federal government was recently forced to admit that well over 2,000 of the research papers it has published contain “exaggerated claims.”

 

As Just The News reports, over 2,600 papers from the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s (AAAS) peer-reviewed journal Science were closely scrutinized by rival research journal Scientometrics. In the subsequent study, it was determined that, from 1997 to 2021, the journal saw a 40% drop in the use of “hedging” words.

 

In scientific research and other forms of academic writing, “hedging” words refers to terms and phrases such as “could” or “appear to,” in order to provide some room for doubt rather than depict absolute confidence. In 1997, there were roughly 115.8 examples of hedging for every 10,000 words. However, by 2021, that rate had fallen to just 67.42 per every 10,000.

 

Responding to the criticism, the news division of Science acknowledged that this new research “suggests a worrisome rise of unreliable, exaggerated claims.”

 

The non-profit watchdog group Influence Watch reports that “the federal government is the largest identifiable source of funding for AAAS,” as the association has received roughly $3.3 million per year from the federal government between 2008 and 2017, in addition to many other grants the association received.

 

“Less hedging may reflect a subtle strategy by authors to sell their results to editors and readers as an alternative to explicit exaggeration,” Scientonomics continued in their report.

 

Most recently, AAAS published numerous works that were overwhelmingly skeptical of theories claiming that the COVID-19 pandemic originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China, going so far as label the suggestion “a conspiracy theory.”

 

Social psychologist Melissa Wheeler said that the study’s findings prove that displaying prudence in academic research is “vital to communicating what one’s data can actually say and what it merely implies.”

 

“If academic writing becomes more about the rhetoric,” Wheeler continued, “it will become more difficult for readers to decipher what is groundbreaking and truly novel.”

 

Despite these findings, Science largely doubled down on the practice, with executive editor Valda Vinsion claiming that the decrease in hedging language was due to authors being required to provide additional citations.

No politician should get taxpayer funded armed protection. They truly aren't that important. In fact, if they didn't have security to protect them from the consequences of their own actions, they might listen to the people a little more.

 

I'm all for disarming all politicians, lawyers, judges, DA's, and the ultra wealthy with the exception being that they can carry their own arms and armament anywhere a normal civilian is allowed to.

 

Permanently bar anyone owing foreign allegiance from owning a firearm in the US. That'll cover most of the problem people.

DHS Abruptly Replaces Air Marshal Director—Fourth Time in as Many Years

 

The Biden administration has abruptly—and quietly—replaced the scandal-plagued director of the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS), marking the fourth time in around as many years that the agency gets a new leader. Such frequent turnover at the top illustrates the instability that has prevailed at FAMS, which operates under the beleaguered Transportation Security Administration (TSA), created after 9/11 to prevent another terrorist attack. Both function under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and have been rocked by controversy and mismanagement that has left the nation vulnerable from a security standpoint, according to multiple DHS sources interviewed by Judicial Watch.

 

The latest FAMS director to get ousted, Tirrell Stevenson, has been quietly replaced on an “acting” basis by Brian C. Belcher, according to an agency memo dispersed to staff a few days ago. Publicly, the move is being handled by simply eliminating Stevenson’s biography and photo on the TSA Leadership and Organization page and replacing it with Belcher’s with no further explanation. FAMS sources provided Judicial Watch with the memo informing staff that as of August 14 Belcher, a FAMS deputy executive assistant, “assumed the duties of Acting Executive Assistant Administrator (EAA)/Director for LE/FAMS.” The move was sudden, according to FAMS sources. In his short tenure—a little over a year—as FAMS director, Stevenson was reportedly embroiled in widespread wrongdoing, waste, fraud and abuse and many inside the agency have called on Congress to intervene. Stevenson’s transgressions include misusing government resources by deploying FAMS to the southern border, greatly compromising the security of the nation’s aviation system. Stevenson also removed air marshals from missions to send them to military bases for Afghan refugees.

 

Judicial Watch has reported extensively on the lapses, including the controversial deployments of his uniquely skilled law enforcement officers to the Mexican border to perform duties unrelated to transportation, such as welfare checks, hospital watch and chauffeuring illegal immigrants. Keep in mind that air marshals are highly trained aviation security specialists charged with protecting commercial passenger flights by deterring and countering the risk of terrorist activity. The Air Marshal National Council, which represents thousands of FAMS nationwide, has accused Stevenson and TSA Administrator David Pekoske of violating federal law and overstepping their authority for assigning the air marshals to assist the U.S. Border Patrol with the migrant crisis. Air marshals interviewed by Judicial Watch expressed outrage that they were being pulled from their critical inflight security duties to assist with the mayhem created by the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies.

My name is Stef and my husband Jorne and I own a home at the end of Meadow Creek road in Celista BC. The fire department and forestry lit a back burn around 4pm on Thursday Aug 17th knowing there were 30km winds coming. No news outlet is talking out this. My husband has been monitoring the winds and the Adams creek fire for weeks. On Tuesday Aug 15th we knew the winds were coming. The fire was approx 15km away from us. We don’t know who decided to light a back burn knowing the wind forecast. They lit a 14km back burn right to our back door and never notified us. My dad who lives in Kelowna knew about a “out of control back burn” before we did. They didn’t even come to tell us. They notified the locals by posting it on a piece of paper at the gas station.

 

At 845pm we saw the fire just over the ridge. And by 12pm it had reached meadow creek road and was in back yard. Without the back burn we could have had a whole day to prepare. We did have sprinklers up, water tanks loaded and generators ready to go. We knew we were pretty much on our own and would not receive much help. The fire department did come down the road and were there briefly. Once they deemed the fire out of control they left. When the fire came into the valley we watched it burn up the sides of the mountain due to the humidity dome created with all the sprinkler and water. The fire department abandoned us. About 2 hours had passed when some locals came down our valley with resources and help. I was notified the fire department was sitting in a field having coffee so I went t to get them. When I got there I asked them to come help us, told them the situation. One of the firemen told me they wanted to help but had orders to sit. I yelled at them to get in their trucks and come help us. They said they would. I went back down the road to notify our crew they were coming. I sat and waited but no one came. About 15 minutes had gone by so I went back up the road and found them sitting about 1km away. They told me they were assessing the situation. I asked how they could assess if they couldn’t see it? I again asked them to come help and they finally did. Everyone ran around putting hot spots out. We wore water packs and half masks with headlamps for the next 3 days making sure our houses made it through.

 

In the initial days after the “superfire” the locals were able to get water, gas and supplies but now there is a heavy police presence. They have the roads blocked off saying they are preventing looting. The locals are being told to return to their homes. They are not allowed to be helping at all. There are spike strips on the roads. Police blocks everywhere. There are people trying to get essential supplies in such as water, gas and food by boat. They are being turned away. Police are patrolling the roads and water. They have the gas stations blocked off.

 

We need the real story to get out so we can get help.

 

We are more than equipped to help put this fire out but are being stopped. We need resources such as gas, diesel to keep us going. They’re trying to starve us out so they can let it burn.

What is unfolding in Maui stands as one of the most shameless, horrific displays of government ineptitude and cruelty we’ve seen. From the highest levels, including Biden, down to the lowest local officials, the good people of Maui have been met with disrespect and callousness. Tragically, many have died or suffered tremendously more at the hands of these government blunders.

 

Recently Revolver told you about a situation in Maui where residents revealed they had basically been “barricaded” in, unable to leave, as the fire tore through Lahaina, thanks to inept local officials.

 

Well, sadly, it turns out that incredible story was true, and now, the propaganda mainstream media, who have been covering for the Maui debacle, can no longer ignore it.

Around 3:20 p.m., Lahaina resident Kevin Eliason is watching the black smoke from a vantage point closer to downtown when passersby tell him a power pole has been knocked onto the tar roof of a gas station two blocks away, creating fireballs that are being blown in the wind, he said.

 

Eliason said the fire knocked the power out in the area soon after.

 

Ten minutes later, Hawaiian Electric sends a news release asking Maui residents to prepare for extended outages. The utility says more than 30 power poles are down in West Maui, including along the Honoapiilani Highway at the south end of Lahaina. At the same time, the fire department closes the Lahaina Bypass road because of the fire.

 

The closures block the only route out of Lahaina to the south. Two weeks later, Maui Police Chief John Pelletier says during a news conference that officers never stopped people from leaving Lahaina that day but did try to prevent them from driving over live power lines.

 

Back in the subdivision near Lahainaluna Road, the first sign of trouble for Nate Baird and Courtney Stapleton comes at 3:40 p.m., when their 9- and 10-year-old sons say they can smell s’mores.

 

By the time the family piles into the car with their dog and Baird’s mother and joins a caravan of evacuating residents, parts of the subdivision are beginning to burn. A telephone pole falls behind their car, causing an accident and blocking a side street.

 

Meanwhile, police officers knock down a fence to help others escape, the police chief says later. Firefighters in the area nearly become trapped themselves, losing a truck to the flames, Pelletier says.

 

When Baird and his family turn south to drive out of town, the way is blocked by cones and a crew working on downed electric poles. The workers were motioning for everyone to turn back toward Lahaina.

If you have seen the new Quake 2 Enhanced (social media quake 2), here is what is going on with it.

The new social media empire has decided to deprecate the “connect 192.168.0.1” command of connecting computers to other computers for playing quake ala GameSpy era 90s (often considered the golden age of video gaming / computer gaming) PC gaming. They replace it with the new Social Media way of lobbying a matchmaking service to play with others because their plans of digital rights management and digitization of video games (remember when video games had game cartridges or CD-rom?) is coming for physical books next, and finally human beings through social media. They will not be satisfied until you are connected on a spiritual level and until God is defeated. This is why they keep calling us robots on steam, gog, 4chan, game forums, and everywhere else where we refuse to give them our real names, real pictures, and have a Real ID, and rejecting to play on Steamworks or GOG Galaxy, but continue playing on our own internet with our own doom and quake from 1993. They will continue calling us robots and making fun of us for being robots for using computers to connect to other computers, because we won’t get a brain chip that connects to the other guy’s brain. So they are cyborgs making fun of people and punking them for not wanting to be inside the game where they will not let you back out. Just like they are making fun of us for the complete digitization of physical video game media.

Oddly enough they also use this as a means to advanced their own cringe features in video games now like Hero Shooter MMO cooldown abilities (martial arts style sets of movements like in the matrix you can download king fu to your brain) even though this is seen as super effeminate and cringe by most male gamers.

Essentially treated like cattle without giving cows pasture and having to live in a pen constantly they call Steam or Galaxy etc.

We can't know just how much misery we 'were' spared having Trump in while he was. Anon lives in Florida and we all like how DeSantis ran the state here (aside from making it so literally everyone wanted to move here) but once he decided to run against Trump instead of staying here and doing the job we elected him to do I lost all respect for him and wonder the motives for doing what he is.
