FBI raids home of top fundraiser for New

FBI agents searched the Crown Heights home Thursday of Brianna Suggs, a campaign consultant and top fundraiser linked to New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The agents descended on the home on Lincoln Place in Brooklyn Thursday morning. The FBI declined to immediately comment on the reason, but acknowledged agents were at the address. Adams unexpectedly returned from Washington, D.C., to New York despite a day of planned meetings with White House officials and other big city mayors on immigration. His office said at the time the mayor was returning to "address a matter" but declined to elaborate.

On Monday morning, shortly after the biotech company Moderna announced promising news about the efficacy of its COVID vaccine, Ivanka Trump went on Twitter to blow some minds:

 

Let’s pick up the pieces of our brains and recall what was literally happening back in January. Early in the month, intelligence and health officials were becoming increasingly alarmed by a novel coronavirus spreading in China. Yet at the time, as officials later told the Washington Post, “Trump’s advisers struggled to get him to take the virus seriously.” Trump received his first in-depth briefing on the virus from Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar on January 18. (During the call, the president reportedly was more interested in discussing when a ban on flavored vaping products would end.) The first COVID-19 case in the United States was reported on January 20. Asked about the coronavirus publicly for the first time two days later, Trump declared, “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China.”

So what exactly was Ivanka talking about? It turns out that Moderna did get started on its COVID vaccine on January 13, two days after China released the virus’ genetic sequence. A document filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission explains that on that date, the company’s researchers “finalized the sequence for the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine” and it “mobilized toward clinical manufacture.” That step was taken in collaboration with the Vaccine Research Center, which is under the National Institutes for Health (NIH). Even if Trump wasn’t personally involved, can’t he take credit for his administration’s role in this moment?

 

It’s not that simple. Moderna’s partnership with the feds to develop messenger RNA technology, which its coronavirus vaccine is based on, began long before the novel coronavirus flared up. The Pentagon funded the company’s mRNA research in 2013, and the federal government gave it $125 million to develop a mRNA-based Zika vaccine in 2016. Its COVID-related work on January 13 appears to have been completed under an already existing research agreement with the NIH, according to a review by the consumer advocacy group Public Citizen.

 

In short, Trump didn’t swoop in to launch the Moderna-NIH COVID vaccine partnership. Rather, his administration piggybacked on an ongoing collaboration whose initial agreements were signed in—checking the fine print—November 2015. Maybe Ivanka should have added, “Thanks, Obama.”

Judaism has recognized nonbinary persons for millennia.

Thought nonbinary gender was a modern concept? Think again. The ancient Jewish understanding of gender was far more nuanced than many assume.

 

The Talmud, a huge and authoritative compendium of Jewish legal traditions, contains in fact no less than eight gender designations including:

 

  1. Zachar, male.

  2. Nekevah, female.

  3. Androgynos, having both male and female characteristics.

  4. Tumtum, lacking sexual characteristics.

  5. Aylonit hamah, identified female at birth but later naturally developing male characteristics.

  6. Aylonit adam, identified female at birth but later developing male characteristics through human intervention.

  7. Saris hamah, identified male at birth but later naturally developing female characteristics.

  8. Saris adam, identified male at birth and later developing female characteristics through human intervention.

 

In fact, not only did the rabbis recognize six genders that were neither male nor female, they had a tradition that the first human being was both.

 

Versions of this midrash are found throughout rabbinic literature, including in the Talmud:

Rabbi Yirmeya ben Elazar also said: Adam was first created with two faces (one male and the other female). As it is stated: “You have formed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.” (Psalms 139:5)

Eruvin 19a

 

Rabbi Yirmeya ben Elazar imagines that the first human was created both male and female — with two faces. Later, this original human being was separated and became two distinct people, Adam and Eve. According to this midrash then, the first human being was, to use contemporary parlance, nonbinary.

Genesis Rabbah 8:1 offers a slightly different version of Rabbi Yirmeya’s teaching:

Rabbi Yirmeya ben Elazar: In the hour when the Holy One created the first human, He created him as an androgynos (one having both male and female sexual characteristics), as it is said, “male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

 

For the rabbis, the androgynos wasn’t just a thing of the mythic past. The androgynos was in fact a recognized gender category in their present — though not with two heads, only both kinds of sex organs. The term appears no less than 32 times in the Mishnah and 283 times in the Talmud. Most of these citations are not variations on this myth, but rather discussions that consider how Jewish law (halakhah) applies to one who has both male and female sexual characteristics.

The Mishnah describes half a dozen categories that are between male and female

Less common than the androgynos and tumtum, but still found throughout rabbinic texts, are the aylonit, who is born with organs identified as female at birth but develops male characteristics at puberty or no sex characteristics at all, and the saris, who is born with male-identified organs and later develops features recognized as female (or no sex characteristics). These changes can happen naturally over time (saris hamah) or with human intervention (saris adam).

That the scriptures are younger than what we make them and an entire religion has been based on these writings that people don't really understand. Later on in the book of Daniel there is reference to the lands in which they were exiled in, which is Babylon, was the lands of their ancestors. So if you look at all of this in it's proper context and timeline you see a different thing going on with god being something that predates Hebrews and seems to have been well established during the times of polytheism for example like Ashur or the Anu that were gods that created everything including other gods. Psalm 91, Prayer of Protection - a deeper look

In Spring 2020, just before the covid lockdowns were announced, I knew that fear was the primary weapon being used against us, to control the population through fear of disease.

At that time, I happened across this book by Pastor Joseph Prince, which focuses on Psalm 91, a prayer of protection. Pastor Prince breaks down the psalm verse by verse, diving deep into the language used, and encourages praying this psalm out loud daily as a way to protect your family and also to overcome fear.

I took his advice and spoke this psalm out loud daily through the early months of the pandemic. (I personally wasn't afraid of covid, but I was very afraid of the way it was being used to control people.) I wrote it out by hand and put it up on my wall where I could be reminded regularly of God's protection. It has been of great help to me during times when I am faced by circumstances beyond my control, and through it I learned the power of spoken prayer. Psalm 91 has become the foundation stone of my spiritual warfare campaigns and has strengthened me through many dangerous situations.

Concord, NH – Attorney General John M. Formella announces that on September 27, 2023, Scott Kudrick, age 51 of Norwell, Massachusetts, pled guilty to one class A misdemeanor count of Voter Fraud contrary to RSA 659:34 and one class A misdemeanor count of Unsworn Falsification contrary to 641:3.

 

The State charged Mr. Kudrick with misdemeanor voter fraud, misdemeanor unsworn falsification, and felony voter fraud based on Mr. Kudrick falsely swearing on his voter registration that he was a Town of Conway resident and voting in the Conway town election on April 13, 2021, despite Mr. Kudrick not being domiciled in Conway. As part of a negotiated disposition, Mr. Kudrick pled guilty to the two misdemeanor charges, and the felony charge will be resolved through a diversion agreement.

 

On the two misdemeanor guilty pleas, Mr. Kudrick was sentenced to 180 days in the House of Corrections, all of which will be suspended for a two-year period. Mr. Kudrick will be fined a total of $4,960. If Mr. Kudrick violates any of the conditions of his suspended sentence within two years of the date of sentencing, the State may seek to impose that sentence.

 

Under Mr. Kudrick’s felony diversion agreement, Mr. Kudrick will be required to perform 100 hours of community service and remain arrest free for a one-year period. If Mr. Kudrick violates the terms of his diversion agreement during that period, the State may seek to impose felony level penalties including fines and a state prison sentence.

 

As a consequence of Mr. Kudrick’s election law convictions and pursuant to Part I, Article 11 of the New Hampshire Constitution, his right to vote in New Hampshire is terminated.

 

This matter was investigated and prosecuted by members of the Election Law Unit at the New Hampshire Department of Justice.

More than 12 people are injured, some critically, after gas explosion causes home to collapse in Wappingers Falls

An explosion has left at least 12 people injured - some critically - after a construction crew reportedly ruptured a natural gas line in Wappingers Falls, New York.

 

The explosion damaged a family home, which half collapsed.

 

At least two victims have been found in the rubble, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. The injured reportedly include children.

 

A heavy equipment operator is reportedly trapped in his machine as first responders try to reach him.

 

One of the injured is a state trooper who was one of the first to respond to the scene.

 

Officials have requested helicopters to transfer the wounded to the hospital.

 

News 12 Westchester reports that witnesses saw a mother and her two children come out of the home 'badly hurt.'

 

The public has been asked to avoid the area of Main Street, Mesier Park, Mill Street and High Street while firefighters work.

 

One witness, Floriant Shabanaj, told CBS: 'So we hear the explosion. It shakes the building and then we run, with my brother over here, to help the people.

 

'The firefighter was trying to pull him [a victim] up, take him from the bricks, because the bricks after the explosion fall over on him.'

 

Chrissy Bell, who lives in the house across from the one that was destroyed, said: 'Oh my God, we're so lucky it wasn't worse on our side. My mom was home. The windows were blown out. She heard a shake.

 

'The door blew open. She looked out and the other building was gone.'

 

Resident Marcia Ward added: 'I thought maybe something hit the house or the kids, so I'm running through the house.

 

'I didn't know what it was, so we came running out here and we saw that it was awful.'

 

People who have been left homeless because of the explosion will be housed and receive food vouchers by Central Hudson Utilities.

 

The Dutchess County Emergency Management said: 'Be advised that EAST and WEST MAIN ST are CLOSED in the V/Wappingers between SOUTH AVE and DELAVERGNE AVE due to extended fire department activity at a building collapse. Please AVOID THE AREA until further notice.'

 

Governor Kathy Hochul issued a statement about the incident.

 

She wrote: 'I have been briefed on the building collapse in Dutchess County and have deployed State emergency services personnel to assist in response efforts. New Yorkers: please follow directions from law enforcement and other first responders working to keep the community safe.'

 

A spokesperson for Central Hudson said a contractor struck a 3/4-inch gas service line and the dig caused a fire and explosion, as reported by ABC 7.

 

The explosion happened at around 12.22pm on Brick Row.

 

Electric and natural gas services were cut in the area at 1.30pm.

 

Gov Hochul added: 'I join all New Yorkers in praying for the Village of Wappingers Falls.'

 

Wappingers Falls is about an hour north of Westchester County.
