Three years before, in London, the singer had injured a toe in a football match. The toe was found to be cancerous, and Marley was treated in Miami, Florida with no success. By 1980, the growth had infected his entire body. He struggled with the disease for eight months at the clinic of Dr. Joseph Issels in Bavaria. Dr. Issels' brand of alternative medicine was non-toxic. For a brief time Bob's condition appeared to stabilize. Eventually, however, the battle proved too much. He died in a Miami hospital on Monday May 11, 1981. I said, "What do you mean 'they are killing Bob?'" "No, no, mon," he said. "Dis Dr. Issels, he's a Nazi!" We found out later that Dr. Issels WAS a Nazi doctor. And he had worked with Dr. [Joseph] Mengele.

JERUSALEM, NOV. 10 – Publisher Robert Maxwell today was given a funeral befitting a national hero by Israel, the country with which he developed an intimate and sometimes controversial relationship in the last three years of his life.

 

Maxwell, whose body was recovered from the Atlantic Ocean off the Canary Islands last Tuesday after he disappeared from his yacht, was buried late this afternoon in Judaism's most prestigious spot, the cemetery on Jerusalem's Mount of Olives, facing the Western Wall. His funeral service in Jerusalem's Hall of the People was attended by a host of Israeli politicians led by Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and President Chaim Herzog, who eulogized the self-made tycoon as "a man cast in a heroic mold."

Born into an orthodox Jewish family in Czechoslovakia in 1923, Maxwell made his career and fortune in Britain, where he served in the army and Parliament and once announced that he had converted to the Anglican Church. In recent years, however, Maxwell reembraced Judaism and became a fervent supporter of Israel, investing tens of millions of dollars into the country's troubled economy and serving as an occasional advocate and point man for its governments.

 

Only a week before his death, the volatile owner of the New York Daily News and Britain's Mirror newspaper group became involved in an exchange of lawsuits with author Seymour Hersh, who accused Maxwell of working with Israel's Mossad intelligence agency. Maxwell's death at sea only intensified the speculation in London, where Hersh promised to produce further revelations of the 68-year-old publisher's clandestine Israeli connections.

 

So far, the evidence has not been forthcoming, and senior Israeli officials as well as sources in Britain have disputed Hersh's account that Maxwell helped the Mossad find Mordechai Vanunu, the Israeli nuclear technician who was abducted by the spy agency in 1986 after he leaked secrets about Israel's nuclear weapons program to the Sunday Times, a London newspaper.

 

Instead, Israeli sources describe Maxwell as a Jew who returned to his roots after a life in which he conquered but never quite penetrated British society. He was a tycoon who, in exchange for the pampering and access he was readily granted by Israel's ruling establishment, set a model for involvement and investment here that could be held up to other Jewish millionaires around the world.

 

"It was the emotional side of this stormy and eminently pragmatic man that returned him after achieving honors and success, after reaching the apex in international standing and prestige to his roots, that led him to wish to be buried in the soil of the land of Israel," said Herzog in his eulogy. "It is right and proper that he be here at last among us."

 

Maxwell had almost no connection with Israel until 1988, when he was already 65 years old. In three short years, however, he made a large mark, investing tens of millions of dollars in acquiring a majority interest in the mass circulation Hebrew newspaper Maariv, the Keter publishing house and the high-tech printing firm Scitex.

 

Maxwell soon became an intimate of Israeli leaders. Official sources said he spoke to Shamir by telephone at least once a week and visited Jerusalem at least once a month, taking the royal suite at the King David Hotel and hobnobbing with politicians as well as his Israeli editors. Although he was friendly with leftist opposition leader Shimon Peres, one official who knew him said Maxwell's favorite was Ariel Sharon, the flamboyant hard-liner who conceived and directed the 1982 invasion of Lebanon and now oversees construction of Jewish settlements in the occupied territories.

 

One official source, while denying that Maxwell ever had contact with the Mossad or access to sensitive information, said the government did not shrink from asking his help on issues ranging from Soviet immigration to the financing of pet projects. Maxwell reportedly helped arrange the transit of Soviet Jews to Israel through Eastern Europe, where he had extensive contacts and investments. Six months ago, he paid for the transfer to Israel of several dozen Jewish children affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster in the Soviet Ukraine.

Inslaw is known for developing PROMIS, an early case management software system. It is also known for a lawsuit that it brought against the United States Department of Justice in 1986 over PROMIS, alleging that the Justice Department had dishonestly conspired to "drive Inslaw out of business 'through trickery, fraud and deceit'" by withholding payments to Inslaw and then pirating the software.[1] Inslaw won damages in bankruptcy court, but these were overturned on appeal. The suit resulted in several Justice Department internal reviews, two Congressional investigations, the appointment of a special counsel by Attorney General William P. Barr, and a lengthy review of the special counsel's report under Attorney General Janet Reno. Inslaw's claims were finally referred by Congress to the Court of Federal Claims in 1995, and the dispute ended with the Court's ruling against Inslaw in 1998.

 

During the 12-year long legal proceedings, Inslaw accused the Department of Justice of conspiring to steal its software, attempting to drive it into Chapter 7 liquidation, using the stolen software for covert intelligence operations against foreign governments, and involvement in a murder. These accusations were eventually rejected by the special counsel and the Court of Federal Claims.

 

History of Inslaw

Inslaw began as a non-profit organization called the Institute for Law and Social Research. The Institute was founded in 1973 by William A. Hamilton to develop case management software for law enforcement office automation.[2] Funded by grants and contracts from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA), the Institute developed a program it called "PROMIS", an acronym for Prosecutors' Management Information System, for use in law enforcement record keeping and case-monitoring activities.[3] When Congress voted to abolish the LEAA in 1980, Hamilton decided to continue operating as a for-profit corporation and market the software to current and new users. In January 1981 Hamilton established the for-profit Inslaw, transferring the Institute's assets over to the new corporation.[3]

 

Development of PROMIS

PROMIS (Prosecutors Management Information System) was a case management software developed by Inslaw.[4] The software program was developed with aid from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration to aid prosecutors' offices in tracking. PROMIS software was originally written in COBOL for use on mainframe computers; later a version was developed to run on 16 bit mini-computers such as the Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-11.[5] The primary users of this early version of the software were the United States Attorneys Office of the District of Columbia, and state and local law enforcement.[6] Both the mainframe and 16 bit mini-computer versions of PROMIS were developed under LEAA contracts, and in later litigation, both Inslaw and DOJ eventually agreed that the early version of PROMIS was in the public domain, meaning that neither the Institute nor its successor had exclusive rights to it.[7]

Later developments

A book written in 1997 by Fabrizio Calvi and Thierry Pfister claimed that the National Security Agency (NSA) had been "seeding computers abroad with PROMIS-embedded SMART (Systems Management Automated Reasoning Tools) chips, code-named Petrie, capable of covertly downloading data and transmitting it, using electrical wiring as an antenna, to U.S. intelligence satellites" as part of an espionage operation.[4]

 

A 1999 book by the British journalist Gordon Thomas, titled Gideon's Spies: The Secret History of the Mossad, repeated the claims of Ari Ben-Menashe that Israeli intelligence created and marketed a Trojan horse version of PROMISin order to spy on intelligence agencies in other countries.[90]

 

In 2001, the Washington Times and Fox News each quoted federal law enforcement officials familiar with debriefing former FBI Agent Robert Hanssen as claiming that the convicted spy had stolen copies of a PROMIS-derivative for his Soviet KGB handlers. Later reports and studies of Hanssen's activities have not repeated these claims.

Two days before Cass Elliot died in London, the House Judiciary Committee voted 27-11 to recommend the first article of impeachment against President Nixon for obstruction of justice. The second article of impeachment, abuse of power, and third, contempt of Congress, were passed on July 29, 1974, the day that Cass suffered a fatal coronary (Four years later, Who drummer Keith Moon would die from barbiturate overdose in the same flat.)

The executive branch took a fatal blow on July 16, 1973, when Nixon aide Alexander Butterfield sabotaged his boss by revealing in open Congressional testimony the existence of secret White House tapes. Butterfield, a veteran Air Force reconnaissance pilot who flew in Vietnam, had been in charge of tactical charts for Defense Secretary Robert McNamara under President Johnson. In 1969, he gave up his commission to accept the post of security advisor to the Oval Office, offered by his old UCLA classmate H.R. Haldeman, Nixon’s chief of staff. In the mid-‘60s, Butterfield had worked in the Pentagon under Knight of Malta Alexander Haig, whose advisor Bob Woodward left the DoD and took a job at the Washington Post six months before the Watergate scandal broke. By revealing the existence of the tapes, Butterfield, with an assist from the CIA, brought down the nation’s chief executive.

 

CHAOS entered a hyper-operational phase coincident with Nixon’s election to office.

 

The late Mae Brussell, a mercurial encyclopedia of political research in Carmel, California, reached some startling conclusions in an unpublished manuscript entitled “Operation CHAOS”:

 

By August, 1967, Special Operations Group went after the youth. By July, 1968, Operation CHAOS, identical to Chilean “Chaos,” went after the “restless youth.” …

110 displaced in Milwaukee

 

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – According to the Milwaukee Fire Department, there was a water leak at the Historic Lofts on Kilbourn located at 2200 Kilbourn, prompting the water and power to be shut off and residents evacuated.

 

The Milwaukee Fire Department says 110 people have been displaced.

 

“When I came down the stairs, you heard the water rushing through the walls – it sounded like it was water running," said one resident, who asked not to be named.

 

The call came in to the fire department around 8:20 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20.

 

“It was terrible. Really terrible. The whole thing did go almost to like mid to people's door and stuff and then it was leaking from the ceilings so yeah it was really bad down here," said Carrington Dewberry, a resident.

 

The building is the former Sinai Samaritan Medical Center. It dates back to 1885 and is considered landmark in Milwaukee. According to fire authorities, Milwaukee fire is finishing up securing the building as they wait for the water department to shut off water and We Energies to shut off power.

 

“It is extremely cold at night so they’re trying to get us out of here," said Dewberry.

 

Three MCTS buses were available for about 200 residents to stay on to keep warm while this issue is investigated and fixed.

 

"I've seen a lot of different stuff. I mean, we have blind people, we have people in wheelchairs that's in the building, it was kind of sad," said one resident. "I got to go to a hotel or something myself with my siblings."

 

The Red Cross has also been called in to help.

 

“This is all we got right now," said Dewberry.

 

MFD says it's still unknown where the water leak began.

SMUs are direct action teams composed of all-star special forces operators— the elite of the elite—drawn from the Navy SEALs, Delta Force and other "Tier One" special forces, working with the Joint Special Operations Command. Since 9-11, these teams have been the premiere force in capturing or killing "high-value targets" around the world.

 

Before becoming commander of the war in Afghanistan, Gen. McChrystal served as the head of JSOC, from 2003-2008. During his tenure, JSOC’s operations, once largely focused on discreetly assisting "friendly" foreign military forces or US-backed proxy forces, were greatly expanded. While JSOC has historically worked sensitive counter-terrorism operations, since 9-11, JSOC has run a parallel rendition program, secret prisons and drones. JSOC forces have operated in Pakistan and other "denied areas." Its forces maintain classified "hit lists" and are at the center of US assassination operations. SMUs are used for the most sensitive of these operations.

 

McChrystal would never wax on about SMUs at a press conference, but the mere mention of them in his presence is fascinating nonetheless. "All of our special operating forces are doing a lot of things right now," McChrystal answered. "What we’re trying to do is maintain pressure on the insurgency, on their networks and on their leaderships, while we do what is typically thought of as more traditional counterinsurgency."

 

McChrystal added: "It’s interesting. Some people think that it’s either/or, that in counterinsurgency you’re either handing out volleyballs or you’re doing conventional war with tanks. And that’s actually not the case. Counterinsurgency is a wide effort that’s as much civilian as it is military. In some cases, it’s targeted operations against enemy leaderships. In other cases, it’s protecting Afghan civilians in the street. And so we do have an ongoing effective effort."

 

In other words, "Yeah, we’re bumping people off in Kandahr."

 

"How successful has that ongoing effort been?" McChrystal was asked.

Why should our troops have to be in harms way, when no one can answer this? The solution was only partially implemented that was suggested and that is the folllowing:

 

We needed to put together an international armada against the Houthi aggression, which we got 20 countries in total, good job. The other half of the equation was to have specifically the US provide humanitarian aid to Palestine showing impartiality. This should stop Houthi aggression 100% as per their own reasons, stop genocide of Palestinians, assure Israel no further weapons get into Hamas's hands, and set the stage for the release all Israeli hostages.

 

Lloyd Austin did the first part and didn't follow through on the second part and now tensions have escalated close to all out war. Remember we do these things for God and Country. Now consider when this was made explicit and when his condition worsened. A man of God would take note. There are no coincidences.
