'US Troops on islands in the Taiwan Strait' is appearing on a couple of sources tonight.

 

Taiwanese Defense Chief Chiu Kuo-cheng officially confirmed it when asked about the presence of the US Army Special Forces.

 

This revelation has the potential to escalate tensions with China.

 

Daily Express US reported:

 

“[The admission] comes after Secretary of State Antony Blinken this week issued an ‘ironclad’ warning to China as tensions between the two nations rise.”

 

Former President Tsai Ing-wen had already mentioned in passing three years ago ‘occasional training sessions with US instructors’, but Chiu’s recent statement is the first official confirmation of the permanent nature of these activities.

 

“According to reports from Taiwan’s United Daily News (UDN), US Army Green Berets from the 1st Special Forces Group are now permanently stationed at bases of the 101st Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion, a Taiwanese army special operations force, located in outlying island counties of Penghu and Kinmen. Notably, Kinmen lies just over a mile from Chinese shores.

 

Additionally, reports suggest an American military presence in the northeast city of Taoyuan on Taiwan’s main island, with service members providing specialized training on drone equipment for Taiwan’s elite Airborne Special Service Company.”

“The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) in 2023 paved the way for their arrival to conduct training programs for troops on Taiwan’s front line.”

 

The U.S. Army Green Berets from the 1st Special Forces Group were sent to the outlying island counties of Penghu and also Kinmen, just a mile away from Chinese territory.

 

“The 1st Battalion of this Pacific-oriented Special Forces Group is forward-deployed in Okinawa, Japan, while the rest of the battalion is stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state.

 

The U.S. has maintained no official military presence in Taiwan since it pulled out in 1979 following the normalization of U.S.-China relations.

Taiwan has officially confirmed the presence of US troops stationed on its islands in the Taiwan Strait permanently, a development that could further escalate mounting tensions with China.

 

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) passed in 2023 facilitated the deployment of these troops to conduct training programs for Taiwanese frontline forces.

 

The move comes as China continues to assert its disputed claim over Taiwan, viewing it as a renegade province despite never having ruled it. The heightened military activities by China in and around the Taiwan Strait have prompted Taiwan to bolster its defense capabilities.

This unconstitutional Trump fine (Excessive fines Art8, Sec3) has been bugging anon.

It appears obvious that SCOTUS would overturn this fine amount, but these corrupt individuals, in my opinion, are being forced to do this.

So hypothetically, if they do seize trump properties, "fire sale" them, and they are gone…wouldn't Trump not only be entitled to recuperation of the "face value" of the fine at $454+ million and punitive damages against the attorney, the judge and the federal government?

If that is the case, a Trump civil suit against these people and entities would seem to have a valuation of potentially billions of dollars.

Any lawfags out there to chime in, or correct my assumption?

Badass 'Vigilantes' Show Up Evict Squatters At NY House Where Homeowner Arrested

 

A pair of vigilantes showed up to a house in Queens, New York where the homeowner was recently arrested for changing the locks on her own house in order to try and evict squatters.

 

On Tuesday afternoon, two unidentified men driving a black pickup truck pulled into the driveway of the Flushing home in search of the squatters.

 

"We are looking to get this guy out," one of the men told the Daily Mail. "I am here to talk to him. I want to see why he is here."

American boots on the ground would only come as part of a multilateral effort, according to a top US general

 

The United States is “prepared” to deploy troops to Haiti as part of a multinational effort if the crisis in the country worsens, though officials are not actively considering such a move, according to the U.S. military commander for Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

“We wouldn’t discount” that U.S. troops could be involved in an international effort in Haiti, said Gen. Laura Richardson, commander of U.S. Southern Command, during a Tuesday event at the Atlantic Council. “We are prepared if called upon by our State Department and Department of Defense,” Richardson added, noting that she doesn’t envision a “U.S.-only solution” to the deteriorating situation.

 

The top general’s comments highlight the extent of Haiti’s current crisis, in which the government has all but fallen apart in the face of armed groups that are now preventing Ariel Henry — the country’s internationally recognized leader — from returning from an overseas trip. Pentagon officials are now considering using Guantanamo Bay to hold Haitian refugees if the situation deteriorates further.

 

Henry, who took over as de facto president following the 2021 assassination of Jovenel Moïse, said recently that he will step down and hand power over to a transitional council made up of key stakeholders from Haitian civil society and political groups. There is, however, one controversial condition: Participants in the foreign-backed council must endorse an international intervention to restore security in Haiti.

 

A dueling transition effort, led by paramilitary-leader-turned-avowed-revolutionary Guy Philippe, has rejected the prospect of foreign intervention but is unlikely to earn support from Western leaders.

 

While U.S. officials continue to emphasize their support for a Kenyan-led (but U.S.-funded) United Nations intervention, they have carefully avoided suggesting that American soldiers could be directly involved in any military operations in the country. The Pentagon’s only recent operation in the country was a mission last week to airlift U.S. embassy staff out of Haiti.

 

Washington’s concerns about direct intervention are in part due to the long history of U.S. interference in Haitian politics, including a decades-long U.S. occupation in the early 1900s and alleged American interference in several recent Haitian elections. Many in Haiti see the U.S. as partially responsible for the current crisis due to American support for Henry and other Haitian leaders who have crushed protests and steered the country toward authoritarian rule.

 

But the UN mission has hit its fair share of snags, with Kenyan courts blocking the country’s involvement in the intervention over constitutional concerns. In fact, Henry only left the country in order to sign a revised agreement with Kenyan officials before learning that he would not be able to make the trip home. If the UN intervention does come together, U.S. soldiers will provide logistical and sustainment support for Kenya’s operations, according to Richardson.

 

Other obstacles also stand in the way of the Kenya operation, according to Jake Johnston, a senior research associate at the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR). Even if Kenyan courts sign off on the operation, Johnston says it’s not clear how Kenyan forces could even land in Port-au-Prince given the level of insecurity. And the level of violence required to defeat the gangs by force would risk “ridiculously high” civilian harm in populous areas.

How many Westerners are fighting in Ukraine?

 

There may be more foreign boots on the ground — troops and mercenaries — than you think

 

Global Affairs Canada announced this week that a Canadian had died in Ukraine. Later reporting revealed that his name was Jean-Francois Ratelle and that he was a commander of the Norman Brigade, which, according to CTV News, is “a fighting force of volunteers from several different countries commanded by a CAF veteran who goes by ‘Hrulf.’”

 

Hrulf was Ratell’s call sign. But the news raises an important, and hard to answer question: How many Canadians, and indeed citizens of other Western countries, are there fighting the Russians in Ukraine?

 

The Canadian government says it does not track this figure, but in January 2023, the Ukrainian Foreign Legion said that Canadians were “one of the most numerous nationalities" fighting in Ukraine. CTV News says it was able to track “at least 18 Canadians who are, or were, in Ukraine as fighters or as part of humanitarian efforts.”

 

On May 1, 2023, two Canadians serving with Ukraine's International Legion, which was attached to the 92nd Mechanised Brigade, were killed in Bakhmut. Both had served in the Canadian Armed Forces, but had left before going to Ukraine. At the time, CBC News reported that they were the fourth and fifth Canadians to be killed fighting in Ukraine. By November, the Globe and Mail was reporting that nine Canadians had been killed.

 

Like other countries in the West, the Canadian government did not send those fighters. One of the Canadians who perished was “fighting alongside two U.S. citizens who also died while fighting in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.”

 

A March 14 update on the number of foreign mercenaries provided by the Russian Defense Ministry, which has an interest in muddying the waters on these figures, claims that 1,005 Canadian mercenaries have gone to Ukraine to fight. It claims that at least 491 of them — nearly half — have been killed.

 

And Canada is not number one on that list. According to the Russian update, 2,960 mercenaries have come from Poland with 1,497 of them reportedly killed. Number two is the U.S. with at least 491 of its 1,113 mercenaries killed. The update says that mercenary fighters have come from NATO members Romania and the U.K., while France has been the source of fewer: 147 French nationals have died out of 356 who have gone, according to Russia.

Directs the NASA Administrator to establish a commercial satellite data acquisition program with NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. The bill allows the Administrator to procure Earth remote sensing data from commercial providers to help fulfill the agency’s need. Additionally, the bill requires the Administrator to submit a report to Congress about the commercial agreements signed by the Administrator.

 

H.R. 7687 - NASA Streamlining Partnerships

Socialists face setbacks across the globe, and Joe Biden could be next.

For the past eight years, the Socialist Party ruled Portugal. On Sunday, however, that run ended when the center-right Democratic Alliance won the country’s general election. Portuguese citizens, fed up with years of hyper-progressive politics and criminally bad policies, are following other European peoples in turning to a conservative alternative.

Under the Socialist Party, for example, the issue of homelessness turned into a full-blown crisis. According to recent data, between 2018 and 2022, the number of homeless people in Portugal increased by a whopping 78 percent. In October of last year, Renata Alves, General Director of Comunidade Vida e Paz, told Expresso that the homelessness crisis has been exacerbated by several factors, including the “worsening of living conditions, immigration and the increase in drug consumption.”

At the turn of the century, Portugal legalized the use of all drugs, including cocaine and heroin. Progressive outlets applauded the move. Now, though, with more and more people succumbing to addiction, the country—and its citizens—are having second thoughts.

Drug use is intimately associated with crime. In recent times, all manner of crimes have increased in the southern European nation, including arson, damaging public property, and thefts from motor vehicles. Gang violence and murder are also on the rise.

One cannot discuss the increase in gang violence without noting Portugal’s famous (or infamous) open door immigration policy. That’s because, like drug use and crime, mass immigration and gang violence go hand in hand.

Portugal’s foreign resident population continues to grow. Currently, there are roughly 800,000 individuals of various nationalities residing in the country, many of whom are from war-torn Ukraine, as well as African nations like Angola and Guinea-Bissau. To put that 800,000 in perspective, Portugal’s entire population is a little over ten million.

To compound matters, the country is in the midst of a cost of living crisis. In recent times, rents have surged by almost 11 percent. The lethal combination of soaring inflation, elevated interest rates, and stagnant wages has seen residents take to the streets in protest.

They have had enough.

In truth, the frustrations of the Portuguese people mirror the growing unrest seen throughout Europe. Portugal’s recent election results must be viewed through a much broader lens.

Along with Portugal, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Holland, and Slovakia have all moved Right in recent times. The Right is also steadily gaining ground in France and Germany.

In October of 2022, Italy, one of Europe’s most powerful countries, witnessed the Brothers of Italy take power. A right-wing, Eurosceptic party, the Brothers of Italy is represented by Giorgia Meloni, the current prime minister of Italy.

The frustrations felt by the people in Portugal were also felt by the people in Italy. Italians were—and one assumes still are—worried about the number of immigrants entering the country. Previous surveys revealed that 77 percent of Italians considered immigration to be excessive. Half of the population firmly believes that immigration is closely associated with a rise in crime rates (it is). Italian prisons are flooded with foreign-born criminals.

Elected on the promise that she would halt migration, Meloni has since softened her stance. The number of new migrants has increased greatly, to the chagrin of nationalists in her party and others who see her as having capitulated to the very same globalist ideology she was elected to oppose.

Some 1,200 miles away in Sweden, a country renowned for its ridiculously liberal policies, the Sweden Democrats, a far-right party, is growing in popularity.

Of course, one needn’t live in Portugal, Italy, or Sweden to understand the rising interest in combatting issues like mass immigration, drug overdoses, homelessness, increased levels of crime, and inflation.

American readers know what I am talking about.

Under the current administration, the country finds itself swarmed by illegal immigrants. Some could argue that the country is being invaded.

The brother of the Little Rock airport executive shot by federal agents serving a search warrant says he is fearful his brother may not survive and questions the timing of the incident.

Bryan Malinowski, 53, was injured in a shootout with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives at his west Little Rock home Tuesday morning.

His older brother, Matthew Malinowski, told NBC News reporter Deon Hampton that the family was not sure if the Clinton National Airport executive director was “going to make it in the next 24 hours” while confirming his brother was shot in the head during the exchange of gunfire.

ATF officials said agents were serving a search warrant at the home in the 100 block of Durance Court just after 6 a.m. The agents said Bryan Malinowski fired at them from inside the home, at which point they returned fire. One ATF agent suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was hospitalized.

Matthew Malinowski questioned why agents came to his brother’s home so early in the morning and did not approach him at the airport, claiming instead that the agents “broke down his door” leaving his brother no choice but to “defend himself.”

“There’s something fishy here. The ATF went after him in the worst possible way,” he told NBC News reporter Deon Hampton. “There’s no reason why they couldn’t have arrested him at work at the airport.”

The older Malinowski added that he thought his brother was well-liked at his work and had been successful with improving the status of LIT, saying he, “was turning around Little Rock airport.”

Malinowski also said it seemed odd that his brother could be entangled with the law, noting that he made more than $250,000 a year in salary, lived in a nice suburb with collections of guns and coins and was well connected in the Natural State.

“When someone makes that much money, there’s no incentive to do anything wrong,” the brother said, adding that Bryan Malinowski had just been in Washington D.C. meeting with Arkansas senators about business for the airport. “He has so much to lose.”

As far as Bryan Malinowski’s prognosis, his brother said doctors are keeping him on life support and not performing surgery because they don’t think he would survive.

“We don’t know how much longer he has to live,” Matthew Malinowski, who flew into Little Rock from Pennsylvania Tuesday night, said.

With the family still wondering how this all happened and federal investigators still not releasing the details of the search warrant, Matthew Malinowski feels the case against his brother doesn’t add up.

“Something stinks to high hell.”

Ukraine Drones Again Target Strategic Bomber Base Deep Inside Russia

 

On Wednesday a wave of Ukrainian drones targeted a well-known airbase deep inside Russia which is home to strategic bombers. The air base, called Engels 2, is near the Russian city by the same name, and nearby residents reported hearing at least four explosions during the attack.

 

The Main Directorate of Ukraine's Military Intelligence (HUR) has since owned up to the attack, with sources in Russia confirming to international media that "targets had been hit" and the damage is being assessed.

 

Some drones may have been intercepted, however, with Roman Busargin, the governor of the Russian region of Saratov, describing in a statement that a drone attack was "repelled". This attack is significant given Engels is located over 600km from the Ukraine border. But it's not the first time it has come under attack during the war.

 

In December of 2022 there were reports that two Tu-95 bombers were damaged in a similar drone operation from Ukraine. Later that same month explosions were reported at the airbase but the extent of damage on the ground was unclear. During this latter attack, three Russian servicemen were reportedly killed by falling debris after UAVs were intercepted.

 

A well-known Russian Telegraph channel which reports breaking news related to the Ukraine war said of this newest assault on the airfield: "Preliminary data suggests the anti-aircraft defense system was activated. Residents report hearing a prior siren. There is no official information on casualties or damages."

 

Ukraine-based media sources have speculated that something was hit at Engels:

 

Meanwhile, social media users mentioned a fire at the airfield area post-explosions, with rescuers quickly arriving.

 

One commentator, residing near the airfield, wrote, "There was at least one direct hit, the rest (of the drones) likely shot down by anti-aircraft missiles. Then came the fire trucks, ambulances, police with flashing lights."

 

Engels has long been known to house both Tu-160 and Tu-95MS long-range bombers which are being used in Ukraine, thus it remains a high priority target for Ukraine's cross-border attacks against Russian territory.

 

The Kremlin has accused Western intelligence with assisting in such operations. This recently found some degree of positive confirmation in a damning New York Times story detailing the extent of the CIA's presence in Ukraine going back a decade. The CIA established intelligence outposts along the border with Russia, many of which are likely directing these attacks into Russian territory.

Biden Campaign Backs Away from Gaurav Srivastava

 

Last fall, we reported on a man named Gaurav Srivastava who pretended to be a CIA operative to allegedly fleece the sanctioned Dutch oil trader Niels Troost. The ruse was simple, according to extensive recorded conversations: hand over half your company to me, a secret spy, and I'll protect you from the US government because … I'm a secret spy.

 

In the following months since our original article, it emerged that Srivastava – or "Chairman G," as he likes to be called – is a big time political donor in the United States.

 

Whale Hunting can exclusively reveal that FBI agents in Los Angeles have been interviewing Srivastava’s current and former associates about his campaign donations, claims of being a federal officer and other financial affairs.

We also confirmed from a staff member for the Washington State Democratic Party that the Biden campaign is in the process of quietly refunding thousands of dollars of his political donations.

The FBI inquiries — ongoing for last several months — may lead nowhere, but the Biden campaign’s decision to start refunding donations suggests there are deeper issues afoot for Srivastava.

 

“All allegations raised in this story are false," a spokesman for Srivastava told us (full statement and more details on the news after the jump).

 

The culmination of Srivastava’s rise to public life came alongside a more than $1 million donation in 2022 to the Atlantic Council, a DC-based think tank. The money underwrote a conference in Bali, where he was a “co-host” and rubbed shoulders with business magnates, political honchos and John Legend.

 

But that relationship isn’t going smoothly. The Atlantic Council terminated its relationship with Srivastava, Politico reported last month, and returned additional funds donated by Srivastava in 2023.

 

“We made the decision to terminate our relationship with Mr. Srivastava in May 2023 upon learning new information because of our donor review process. For example, we learned that The Gaurav & Sharon Srivastava Family Foundation was not an established 501C3 in April of 2023, despite Mr. Srivastava’s representation to the Council that this was a registered foundation,” the spokesperson told Politico.

 

Srivastava’s lawyer told Politico the Atlantic Council made the decision after they “disagreed” about how a gift would be implemented. (Small note: Recipients of gifts usually try very hard to implement the handover of gifts.)

 

Alongside his campaign to solve global food security he also became a big spender on political campaigns. Among Srivastava’s key advisors for how to best disperse funds for political purposes were Greg Schultz (Biden’s 2020 campaign manager) and Ret. General Wesley Clark. They didn’t respond to requests for comment.

China's 'Shock' Statement: Palestinians Have Right To Use 'Armed Force' Against Israel

China has backed the right of the Palestinian people to use armed force to combat Israel's occupation of their land, calling it an "an inalienable right well founded in international law".

The comments on Thursday were made by the Chinese ambassador to the UN, Zhang Jun, during the fourth day of public hearings held by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Representatives of 52 countries are addressing the ICJ on Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land.

Beijing’s envoy said there were "various people (who) freed themselves from colonial rule" and they could use "all available means, including armed struggle".

He described the Palestinian use of armed resistance as legitimate and not an act of terrorism.

 

"The struggle waged by peoples for their liberation, right to self-determination, including armed struggle against colonialism, occupation, aggression, domination against foreign forces should not be considered terror acts," Zhang Jun told the court.

 

In his speech, Jun criticized Israeli policies, characterizing them as “oppression that has severely undermined and impeded the exercises and full realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination".

The ICJ’s public hearings, which will be held until February 26, come after a UN General Assembly resolution requesting an ICJ advisory opinion.

The number of states participating in the oral proceedings is the highest of any case since the ICJ's establishment in 1945 and is separate to the more publicized genocide case brought by South Africa. A panel of 15 judges are expected to take about six months to deliberate before issuing an advisory opinion.

Besides China, other countries scheduled to participate in the hearings include Hungary, France, South Africa and Egypt.

International bodies, including the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union will also take part. Israel will not participate but has sent written observations to the court.
