Grooming Candace Owens for the Presidency.

 

Candace’s almost overnight conversion from ultra-liberal to ultra-conservative in 2017 is profoundly suspicious. It telegraphs a young woman with no integrity.

 

Her politics are fluid and now controlled by her newly-minted British father-in-law, Baron Michael Farmer, who banks with the Monarch-Pilgrims’ secret Coutts Bank, Monarch's charities and directed J.P. Morgan's mining interests.

 

Candace's parentage is dubious; her baby daddy may have been British-Danish-German born in the Virgin Islands and is certainly not the snobby breeding required for a British baron’s son.

Candace appears to be selected to help swing the American black vote like a rag doll for the Democrat-Republican Uniparty.

It is no coincidence that my neighbor for the first time has landscapers and they are wearing extreme head covering protection on their heads as they are mowing a lot of leaves from my western neighbor. They are doing this because last year we warned them about toxic leaves as they have never done his leaves nor lawn before only the people across the street from me. This guy never has leaves but somehow today he does, and yesterday he threw some over his fence with a bag onto our property. The east and west of me both lace the leaves with cyanide from plants that they grow and is why they have already started harassing us. Two days ago I accidentally picked up my garbage can without gloves, even though I washed my hands when I got in, but a half hour later I realized I didn't do a good enough job as the cyanide kills cells down to the bone. Euclid 'dark universe' telescope gets de-iced from a million miles away

Just like drivers scrape ice from car windshields during the winter, scientists with the European Space Agency's (ESA) Euclid observatory are trying to "de-ice" the telescope — from a million miles away.

 

Ice layers, about as wide as a single DNA strand, have accumulated on Euclid's mirrors. Although small, the ice appears to have caused "a small but progressive decrease" in the amount of starlight the telescope is capturing, the agency said in a statement on March 19 (Tuesday). The telescope continues its science observations for now while scientists begin heating low-risk optical parts of the spacecraft to begin a de-icing process. These low-risk areas correspond to sections on the telescope where released water is unlikely to impair other instruments, the agency said.

 

"De-icing should restore and preserve Euclid's ability to collect light from these ancient galaxies, but it's the first time we're doing this procedure," said Reiko Nakajima, a Euclid scientist at the University of Bonn in Germany. "We have very good guesses about which surface the ice is sticking to, but we won't be sure until we do it."

 

The problem is not entirely uncommon for space telescopes. Scientists know it is close to impossible to prevent miniscule amounts of water in the air from making its way into spacecraft during assembly, so "it was always expected that water could gradually build up and contaminate Euclid's vision," ESA said in Tuesday's statement.

 

Shortly after Euclid's launch in July of last year, scientists had warmed the telescope using onboard heaters to evaporate most of the water molecules that would have entered the spacecraft prior to liftoff. But it appears "a considerable fraction" survived, perhaps by being absorbed into the telescope's multiple layers of insulation, which have gotten loose since reaching the vacuum of space. In space's frigid environment, these molecules tend to stick to the first surface they land on, one of which appears to be the telescope's mirrors.

 

The issue first came to light when the mission team noticed a gradual decrease in starlight measured with one of Euclid's two science instruments, called the visible instrument (VIS). To help catalog 1.5 billion galaxies and their stellar populations, VIS collects visible light from stars similar to how a smartphone camera operates, only with 100 times as many pixels. Its resolution is thus equivalent to a 4K screen.

 

"Some stars in the universe vary in their luminosity, but the majority are stable for many millions of years," Mischa Schirmer, a Euclid scientist who is leading the de-icing campaign, said in the statement. "So, when our instruments detected a faint, gradual decline in photons coming in, we knew it wasn't them — it was us."

 

The easiest solution would be to heat the entire spacecraft, but doing so would also warm up the telescope's mechanical structure, whose components would expand but not necessarily return to their original states even after a week, the mission scientists say. That would limit Euclid's vision and, in turn, impact the quality of data it gathers. The telescope is influenced by even the tiniest of temperature changes. So, Schirmer and her colleagues are planning to first heat up low-risk, optical parts of Euclid, starting with two mirrors that can be warmed independently of one another and then monitor how the change influences the amount of light VIS gathers.

 

This icy dilemma marks the second problem with the spacecraft in one year. Last September, a sensor meant to find stars for navigation purposes incorrectly tagged cosmic rays as stars, meaning the telescope couldn’t resolve the star patterns it relied on to point itself at specific areas in the sky. The issue was fixed a month later.

 

As for the latest issue, scientists expect tiny amounts of water to continue being released over Euclid's six-year life in orbit. So if they are successful with the de-icing campaign this time, the same procedure could keep Euclid's systems ice-free for the rest of its mission.

Rear Admiral and oceanographer Tim Gallaudet said Unidentified Submersible Objects - or USOs - need urgent and focused research as they could be lurking in the unexplored depths of our oceans.

In his latest report, Rear Admiral Gallaudet explained how this is an under-researched phenomenon, and not aliens hiding under our oceans.

The ex-US military described USOs as "large lighted craft", often seen under the sea surface on their own "or as part of a group in formation."

 

In a chilling warning, Gallaudet said these unknown bodies can sometimes travel in the deep ocean waters without ever emerging.

And because most research focuses on what is going on up in the sky, it means that major powers could be making moves underwater without barely anyone knowing.

Gallaudet said: "We have less research on transmedium UAP and USOs than is ideal.

 

"These underwater anomalies jeopardise US maritime security, which is already weakened by our relative ignorance about the global ocean.

"Their presence in the oceans at the same time presents an unprecedented opportunity for maritime science.

 

"To meet the security and scientific challenges, transmedium UAP

and USOs should be elevated to national ocean research priorities."

 

Rear Admiral Gallaudet has therefore urged the US government and the international community to take action and prioritise the research on UAPs and USOs.

This would be to mainly meet the maritime security challenge posed by what he described as "hard" threats.

Such "proliferating and overwhelming" threats are said to be mainly stemming from Putin's war in Ukraine, the Israel-Hamas war, as well as Iran's proxy conflicts in the Red Sea, North Korea's ever-increasing nuclear arsenal, and China's dangerous moves towards Taiwan.

 

"'Hard' security threats appear to be proliferating, and an overwhelming majority affect the maritime domain," Gallaudet said.

"Russia is continuing its brutal conflict in Ukraine, where the Black Sea is the scene of a hot naval war. Another war is raging between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas, which prompted the deployment of a US Navy aircraft carrier strike group to the region.

"Those same US Navy assets are intercepting strike after strike by Iran’s proxies on international shipping in the Red Sea.

 

"Meanwhile in the Indo-Pacific, North Korea is ramping up its nuclear saber-rattling at the West, and China is persisting in its military aircraft incursions in Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone."

The ex-US Navy also mentioned the abundance of "soft" challenges.

"China is the dominant actor in this arena," he said.

 

"Whether by economic coercion through state-owned enterprises or environmental degradation of all kinds, such as marine pollution, coral reef destruction, illegal fishing, and unchecked greenhouse gas emissions.

"One threat that may be even greater than all these is largely unseen: the worldwide network of undersea cables that provide the backbone of global communication and information transfer.

"This vast complex of seabed infrastructure underpins global commerce, military readiness and logistics, and the internet itself.

Gallaudet, who previously urged the American government to take action in international UFO research, labelled the under-sampling of the world's oceans as an "unsettling" and "critical concern" for maritime security.

That is because despite the ocean covering 71 per cent of the Earth's surface, less than 25 per cent of the seabed has been mapped, and a mere five per cent of the ocean volume has been explored.

 

It means that more is known about the surfaces of Mars and the moon than that of our own planet’s seafloor.

Gallaudet went on to claim that the US government is allegedly "not sharing all it knows" on UAPs and USOs - making it difficult to tackle security threats across the planet's oceans.

He said: "The geophysical undersampling of the world’s ocean is a critical concern for maritime security, as obtaining and maintaining knowledge of threats on and under the sea remains a perpetually unfinished task.

 

"The fact that unidentified objects with unexplainable characteristics are entering US water space and the DOD is not raising a giant red flag is a sign that the government is not sharing all it knows about all-domain anomalous phenomena.

"An effective and complete approach to maritime security must seek to uncover the “unknown unknowns” associated with transmedium UAP and USOs."

The Rear Admiral argued that further knowledge on these unidentified objects roaming the world's waters could transform "virtually any economic sector - not to mention defence".

 

These include air and maritime transportation, energy generation, agriculture, communications, computing, manufacturing, and space travel.

"Further study of UAP may lead to discoveries that make those of the scientific revolution in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries look like baby steps," he said.

Gallaudet also mentioned how pilots, "credible observers" and ultra-modern military technology have recorded objects "accelerating at rates and crossing the air–sea interface in ways not possible for anything made by humans."

 

It comes after odd sightings were also reported by locals and UFO enthusiasts.

In June 2022, dramatic footage appeared to show a series of bright lights hovering over San Diego.

The mysterious video shared online on Monday fueled locals to wildly speculate if UFOs were flying over the Pacific Ocean.

 

Other bizarre footage of a large "cube" hovering above the ocean sparked a number of fresh UFO theories.

Theorist Scott C Waring claimed he saw an odd shaped UFO while watching livestreams from the International Space Station (ISS).

Posting on YouTube, the UFO hunter, who is best known for making the eccentric claim he saw a 10,000 year old alien face carved on Mars, believes the mysterious "craft" was getting ready to leave the ocean for space.

The footage from ISS taken in October 2021 showed a cloud-like substance staying motionless right above the ocean.

Tom Hanks to switch on repaired Large Hadron Collider

Tom Hanks, the actor and star of Forrest Gump, will turn on the Large Hadron Collider, designed to recreate the 'Big Bang', when it is finally repaired.

The giant underground machine, the world's most powerful particle accelerator, suffered a catastrophic malfunction soon after being switched on amid a fanfare of publicity last September.

A faulty electrical connection led to a leak of super-cold helium causing damage estimated at £20 million to the device, operated by Cern, the European particle physics laboratory near Geneva.

As a result, 53 of the magnets used to accelerate subatomic particles around the machine's 17-mile circular tunnel underneath the Franco-Swiss border have had to be brought to the surface for repair or cleaning.

Hanks was approached about the move while filming his latest film Angels and Demons in which he plays a Harvard University academic investigating a plot to annihilate the Vatican with 0.25 grams of antimatter stolen from Cern.

Steve Myers, Cern's director of accelerators and technology, told Nature News that he gave the actor a tour of the laboratory on February 13 and asked him if he would return for the switch-on, to which the actor agreed.

Cern's head of communications, James Gillies, confirmed that the facility would be delighted to have Hanks there to restart the collider, which organisers hope will take place in June.

The machine is designed to simulate the "Big Bang", which started the universe 15 billion years ago, by smashing subatomic particles together at energies never before achieved.

Scientists hope this will help them find the answers to big questions, such as what causes mass and whether hidden dimensions exist in space.

There is also a possibility of tiny black holes being created in the Collider. Experts insist that if this happens, they will pose no threat.

Michigan attorney Stefanie Lambert Junttila was arrested in Washington, D.C., on Monday following a court hearing after she gave the “evidence of numerous crimes” to law enforcement containing internal emails from Dominion Voting Systems, AP reported.

 

Lambert attended a court hearing in Washington, D.C., for a defamation case involving Patrick Byrne, whom she represents. Byrne, the former CEO of Overstock, is being sued by Dominion Voting Systems over his claims of election fraud.

 

Lambert’s arrest occurred after it was revealed that she had leaked confidential documents from Dominion to Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf, who has been actively investigating claims of voter fraud from the 2020 election, according to CNN.

 

The Gateway Pundit reported earlier that Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf has made a bold move by sending a letter to U.S. Representative Jim Jordan, urging a congressional investigation into what he claims as evidence of “foreign interference” in the 2020 election.

 

Sheriff Leaf alleges that electronic voting machines were accessed by foreign nationals across the United States, including Michigan, to manipulate election results.

 

As Lambert’s hearing concluded, the judge requested her to remain behind while the other attorneys exited. Federal marshals entered the courtroom afterward, and Lambert was not seen leaving.

 

According to former Michigan candidate for Attorney General and constitutional attorney Matt DePerno, Lambert “was arrested on an open bench warrant for failing to appear at a show cause hearing because she refused to get fingerprinted.”

 

The U.S. Marshals Service later confirmed Lambert’s arrest, linking it to her failure to appear in court for her separate Michigan criminal case, according to CNN.

 

During the hearing, Lambert admitted to passing the Dominion materials to Sheriff Leaf, asserting that she was reporting a crime to law enforcement. She has been vocal about her claims, suggesting that foreign nationals interfered with the election.

 

Lambert’s stance has been made clear through her social media, where she has stated, “I gave the evidence to law enforcement. The discovery (file from Dominion) contained evidence of numerous crimes. The Constitution does not permit secret Serbians to run our elections. Local clerks are to run our elections, & transparency is prevented by vendors (Dominion).”

Former President Donald Trump has filed a defamation lawsuit against ABC News and George Stephanopoulos, alleging intentional harm and false statements made with malicious intent.

CERN to cut ties with 500 Russia-linked specialists – RIA

 

Hundreds of specialists will lose access to Large Hadron Collider, a spokesman for the organization told the agency

 

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) will stop working with hundreds of scientists with connections to Russia later this year, laboratory spokesman Arnaud Marsollier told RIA-Novosti on Tuesday.

 

CERN, which operates the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), suspended Russia’s status as an observer country in the project in March 2022 in response to the launch of Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine. A few months later, the Swiss-based lab opted against extending its cooperation deal with Russia. The organization said it was going to abide by all international sanctions imposed on Moscow over the conflict.

 

The existing cooperation agreement with Russia expires on November 30, Marsollier said.

 

“At the moment, we have fewer than 500 specialists still associated with any Russian organization,” he added, explaining that these will not be able to work at CERN once the agreement expires.

 

Marsollier noted that the laboratory in the Meyrin suburb of Geneva is no longer receiving any funding from Russia.

 

“We are preparing for other groups to take over tasks at the Large Hadron Collider in the future,” he said.

 

The halt in cooperation between Russia and CERN will “slow down the development of science” everywhere in the world, Pavel Logachev, the head of the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch Russian Academy of Sciences, told TASS on Tuesday. The standoff between Moscow and the West is impacting science as much as it impacts the global economy, he explained.

 

Logachev said those in charge at CERN are themselves “not happy with the situation, but they have no other choice as they’re dependent people.”

 

The loss of access to the Large Hadron Collider “won’t become a tragedy” for the Russian scientists as they have “a lot of important and interesting things to do at home,” he claimed.

 

The 27km-long Large Hadron Collider, which was built with the participation of physicists from many countries, including Russia, started operating at CERN in 2010. It has allowed scientists to confirm the existence of the Higgs boson, a particle that gives mass to other particles such as electrons and quarks.

In Ukraine, Graham Urges Expanded Conscription Despite Mounting War Fatigue

 

On his latest of far too many visits to Ukraine, Sen. Lindsey Graham on Monday urged legislators to expand the pool of citizens subject to being drafted and thrown into the country's losing war against Russia, saying, "We need more people in the line."

 

The Ukrainian military accepts voluntary enlistments from those 18 and older. However, in stark contrast to Americans' experience with military drafts, Ukraine exempts men under 27 from being conscripted. Since December, the country's legislature has been considering lowering the minimum draft age to 25, to meet the military's projected need for upwards of a half-million more soldiers.

 

“I would hope that those eligible to serve in the Ukrainian military would join. I can’t believe [conscription age starts] at 27,” Graham told the press. “You’re in a fight for your life, so you should be serving — not at 25 or 27.”

 

Of course, Ukrainians are generally only "fighting for their lives" once they're shipped east to fight an American-cultivated proxy war over territory that, as David Stockman puts it, "has been either a Russian vassal or appendage for centuries and where the term 'Ukraine' actually means 'borderlands' in Russian."

 

On a trip to Ukraine last May, Graham gleefully crowed that "the Russians are dying" and that aid to Zelensky's government is "the best money we ever spent."

 

For at least a decade, Graham has been a chief Senate cheerleader for military aid to Ukraine. In February, however, he made an abrupt about-face, opposing the latest White House request for outright aid and instead embracing former President Trump's position that future help should come in the form of loans. “I talked to President Trump today and he’s dead set against this package,” Graham said on the Senate floor when announcing his momentous opposition to a $60 billion aid bill.

 

In Kiev this week, Graham reiterated his advocacy of loans:

 

“I was very direct with President Zelensky. You can expect me to always be in your corner, but it’s not unfair for me to ask you and other allies: Pay us back down the road, if you can. I think the loan idea is going to be pretty popular, not just among Republicans but also among Democrats.”

 

Graham's "if you can" qualifier speaks volumes, signaling a coming bait-and-switch. He is advocating "no-interest, waivable" loans. The odds they'll ever be paid back are vanishingly small. In the present, however, the structure gives some cover to politicians facing an American electorate increasingly fed up with throwing money at a war that has nothing to do with US interests.

Why is Klaus Schwab’s website quietly delisting the names of his American allies?

As I’ve noted before, from time to time I’ll check in on the Young Global Leaders website, making mental notes of the newcomers. YGL is an “initiative” of the World Economic Forum to “drive public-private co-operation in the global public interest.” For context, it appears as though selected candidates will undergo a year-long initiation process, which includes WEF “programming,” networking opportunities, and seminars. After “graduation,” members of the class may apply to be incorporated into the “alumni” community.

 

Naturally, I focus on those in the “North America” region because those are the names I most often recognize. Yet today, while writing a blog on Tyson Foods and its decision to fire Americans and hire illegals (click here to read that one), I realized that YGL seems to be scrubbing the names of certain American acolytes.

 

I only discovered this when I went looking for Tyson Foods CFO John R. Tyson because he did not pop up in either the “New Class” tab or the “Community” tab (I always check both because I don’t know at what point during the year classes begin and end). I was able to find him, but only if I typed “Tyson” into the search bar—and boom! There he was.

 

Then, it got me thinking—was anyone else missing? By golly, yes they were! Two names (at least) that I found rather interesting: Representative Colin Allred, a Texas Democrat, and Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo. (Now, I’ve taken some heat in the past with readers being upset that I’ve noted this inconvenient fact regarding Maria’s alliances, but “don’t shoot the messenger” is apropos.)

 

And even more interesting things happen when you type “Bartiromo” or “Allred” into the search bar: Unlike Tyson, these two seem to be completely gone from the website. Now, of course, since these two profiles have seemingly been erased from YGL, I went to the Wayback Machine, which proved invaluable.

 

Here is Maria Bartiromo, screenshotted January 10, 2021 and here is Representative Allred, screenshotted May 26, 2022. Here’s an old press release from Allred’s office announcing his selection into the 2022 class, and, if you follow Bartiromo’s LinkedIn profile to her linked personal website, you arrive at Bartiromo.com, and find that she apparently “overseas [sic] the Board of the Young Global Leaders [emphasis added] of the World Economic Forum.”

 

Lastly, here’s a 2008 Bloomberg article highlighting Bartiromo as a “YGLer” — as well as Anderson Cooper, Elon Musk, Gavin Newsom, and Leonardo DiCaprio….

 

Did Allred and Bartiromo decide to leave the alumni community? What about Cooper, Musk, Newsom, and DiCaprio? Because none of their names appear on the YGL website either.

 

Is it all just a bunch of glitches?

 

Maybe, or maybe it’s because the battle for the American way of life is hitting fever pitch as we roll into the 2024 election, and anti-American globalists, especially ones we might consider our allies, need to fly under the radar.

State Official Faces Lawsuit From GOP Over ‘Impossibly High’ Voter Registration

 

The Republican National Committee (RNC) slapped Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguliar with a lawsuit on Friday, alleging that the state has “impossibly high” voter registration rolls.

 

The lawsuit alleges that the state of Nevada is failing to maintain the requirements of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) which mandates that voter rolls must keep “clean and accurate voter registration records.” The RNC is alleging that according to their analysis, five of Nevada’s 17 counties have inflated voter rolls which they say indicates a violation of the NVRA, the lawsuit claims.

 

The RNC filed a similar lawsuit in Michigan on March 13, against Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. The lawsuit alleged that the state was failing to comply with the NVRA because numerous counties allegedly had “inflated voter rolls.” As of March 14, the RNC had filed 79 election integrity lawsuits in 23 states in the 2024 election cycle.

 

Though many swing states still have some laws in place that Republicans have previously decried during the 2020 election, a recent Daily Caller investigation revealed that the RNC is currently working hand in hand with NRCC and the NRSC on an expansive election integrity effort. According to a Daily Caller analysis, at least seven battleground states are slated to deploy ballot drop-boxes and nearly all are likely to have no-excuse absentee voting. Five swing states currently have two weeks of early voting while numerous others will mail out absentee ballots more than six weeks before election day.

 

As a part of the election integrity efforts, recently elected RNC Co-chair Laura Trump announced March 15 that the party would be partnering with popular conservative influencer Scott Presler to work on legal ballot chasing operations.

 

“But we also have to start thinking about legal ballot harvesting, something we have never embraced as a party. We are going to start doing it now. I am going to have a call very soon with Scott Presler, who is an amazing voter registerer. He has registered so many people in this country. I think he is fantastic. I want him on our legal ballot harvesting division,” Trump said while appearing on Benny Johnson’s podcast.

Iraq´s former defense minister, who holds dual Iraqi-Swedish citizenship, has been arrested in Sweden, authorities said Tuesday. He is suspected of illegally receiving benefits in the Scandinavian country.

 

Prosecutor Jens Nilsson told Swedish broadcaster SVT that Najah al-Shammari has been wanted for almost a year and a half. The prosecutor told broadcaster TV4 that al-Shammari was arrested on Monday at the Stockholm airport by upon arrival in Sweden.

 

Swedish media earlier have said that al-Shammari claimed child and housing support for years – despite living in Baghdad.

 

In 2019, Swedish news agency TT said al-Shammari, is registered as living in a Stockholm suburb.

 

Swedish newspaper Expressen had reported that he moved to Sweden in 2011, received citizenship in 2015 and was reported to authorities, along with his wife, for suspected benefits fraud. He allegedly continued to claim social payments years after returning to Iraq.

 

Sweden and its Nordic neighbors are known for providing generous social benefits.

Investigation finds U.S.- and U.K.-manufactured weapons were used to bomb British doctors in Gaza’s humanitarian area

 

A designated safe zone located in the southern Gaza town of Al-Mawasi, where British doctors work for British and American organizations and which had been marked as a protected humanitarian area by the Israeli military was bombed in January.

 

According to a United Nations investigation, U.S.- and U.K.-manufactured weapons or parts were likely used to bomb the doctors. It also said that the compound, which was not close to any other buildings, was struck around 6:00 a.m. on Jan. 18 by an F-16 jet which "most likely" fired a 1,000-pound "smart bomb.”

 

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) and the International Rescue Committee (IRC) also said this week that Israeli officials have offered six different explanations as to why the residential compound housing their staff was hit despite the Israeli military giving the British defense attaché assurances that the site was a “de-conflicted” area a month prior to the bombing.

 

Reports indicate that the attack caused several staff members and a bodyguard non-life-threatening injuries, severely damaged the compound and forced the organizations to stop taking foreign doctors into Gaza as the healthcare system collapsed.

 

MAP and IRC claimed that Israeli government and military explanations of what happened range from denying involvement, accepting responsibility and asserting that the incident "was a mistake caused by a defective tail fin on the missile that was fired." "It is clear from this experience that the Israeli military and government are either unable or unwilling to properly investigate this serious incident," the organizations said. They have called on Israel's allies to agree to a "full, independent and timebound" investigation into the incident – and all other reported attacks on "deconflicted" facilities and staff. They also demanded "concrete assurances" that attacks against aid and health workers will not occur in the future.

 

"As current suppliers of arms and munitions to Israel, governments such as the U.K. and the U.S. have a particular responsibility to hold Israel accountable for this and other attacks on aid workers and civilians," the organizations also wrote.

 

Meanwhile, Scottish National Party's spokesperson on foreign affairs, MP Brendan O'Hara said on Thursday that he was "extremely concerned" such an attack could happen again, saying it was "almost inevitable" given the "sense of impunity" with which Israel is acting. "The targeting of protected places such as hospitals, medical facilities or humanitarian compounds constitutes a war crime, and this indiscriminate bombing of a designated safe zone should be investigated as such," O'Hara told the Middle East Eye. "If, as we suspect, those bombs, or the planes which dropped them, were made in the U.K., then I fear that that makes the U.K. complicit."

 

Moreover, MP Colum Eastwood, leader of the Social Democratic and Labour party, said he and others had been raising serious concerns for months about the U.K.'s arms export licensing regime given the ongoing bombardment of Gaza. "In this case and in others, the response from the British government has been woefully deficient," Eastwood told the news outlet.

 

Israel "proposes" transfer of 1.4M Palestinian civilians to "humanitarian islands" before the invasion

According to reports, Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed that the U.S. government has yet to see an Israeli proposal to "get civilians out of harm's way" in Rafah and ensure shelter, food and medicine. Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari said that there are plans to push a significant amount of the more than one million displaced Palestinians in Rafah towards "humanitarian islands" in the center of the Gaza Strip in advance of Israel's planned offensive on the city.

 

The suggested move came after the Israelis hit a UN aid distribution center in Rafah, killing at least one United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) staff member and wounding another 22.

 

To date, at least 31,272 Palestinians have already been killed and 73,024 injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza since Oct. 7. The death toll in Israel from Hamas' initial attack last year stands at 1,139 and dozens continue to be held captive.

SCOTUS Indefinitely Blocks Texas Law Allowing Police To Arrest Illegal Immigrants

 

A Texas immigration law permitting state officials to arrest immigrants suspected of entering the United States illegally has been indefinitely blocked by the Supreme Court.

 

The nation’s highest court extended an administrative stay on the controversial state law on Monday while it considers an emergency appeal by the Biden administration, CNN reported. Senate Bill 4, signed into law by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in December, was initially blocked by a federal judge before a federal appeals court reversed the judge’s decision and allowed the law to go into effect. However, the Supreme Court stepped in earlier this month — first, delaying the law’s implementation and then extending the stay until March 18.

 

The Supreme Court’s latest move, which came from Justice Samuel Alito — who oversees cases that come from the appeals court — places a stay on the Texas law “pending further order” from the court, according to NBC News.

 

“SCOTUS temporarily halted enforcement of SB 4 but Texas is still using its authority to arrest illegal immigrants for criminal trespass and other violations of law,” Abbott said. “We continue building the wall, use [National Guard] to erect razor wire barriers to repel migrants & buoys remain in river.”

 

SB 4 allows state officials to arrest and jail immigrants suspected of entering the U.S. unlawfully and also grants state judges the power to order deportations. The law drew harsh criticism from the Biden administration, which argued that the state law interfered with federal immigration law.

The opening sentence of the letter directly refers to Glazer's speech upon accepting his award for Best International Feature Film, where he said, "Right now, we stand here as men who refute their Jewishness and the Holocaust being hijacked by an occupation which has led to conflict for so many innocent people. UK Tells Ukraine To Focus On Targeting Crimea

 

British military officials advised that Ukraine should focus on defense in its ground fight against Russia in the east while focusing on targeted strikes against Crimea and Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, The Sunday Times reported.

 

The advice was given when British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps and UK Army Chief Antony Radakin visited Ukraine last week. The British officials said rather than attacking, Ukrainian forces should hold the line and pull back to more favorable ground if necessary.

 

"This will allow the Ukrainians to focus their efforts on the Black Sea and Crimea, where their forces, with the help of Western long-range missiles, have landed significant blows over the past six months," the report said.

 

A recording of a conversation between German military officers that was recently published by Russian media revealed that the UK has soldiers "on the ground" in Ukraine helping Ukrainian forces use Storm Shadow missiles, which have a range of 155 miles, making them capable of hitting targets throughout Crimea.

 

Attacks on Crimea have always been considered a red line for Russian President Vladimir Putin. But the risk of escalation hasn’t stopped Ukraine’s Western backers from assisting with such strikes, as Storm Shadows have been reported to be used in multiple Ukrainian attacks on Crimea.

 

The UK has also helped Ukraine strike Russian ships in the Black Sea. Another recent report from the Times credited Radakin with helping "the Ukrainians with the strategy to destroy Russian ships and open up the Black Sea."

 

Ukrainian attacks on Crimea and territory inside the Russian mainland have increased since it’s become clear Ukraine has no chance of winning on the battlefield.

 

Poland's foreign minister earlier this month: NATO troops are already in Ukraine.

On March 19, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin confirmed the reports. He claimed that Paris is already preparing the military personnel for deployment in Ukraine. At the initial stage, France is going to send about 2, 000 servicemen to the war-torn country.

 

The Russian SVR recieved the data that France is already preparing the units for the battles on the Ukrainian battlefields.

 

According to the Director of the Russian foreign intelligence, the French military fears that it will be too hard to hide and secure the transfer of such a large unit of French forces to Ukraine, as well as to secretly accommodate foreign servicemen on the Ukrainian territory. The French army is now concerned about the increased number of French citizens killed in Ukraine. Only the destruction of the temporary deployment point of foreigners near Kharkov on January 17 resulted in deaths of dozens of French citizens, and since then such strikes have become frequent in the Ukrainian conflict.

 

The French military leadership is also concerned about the growing discontent among the current middle-level officers of the French army. The rate of their deaths is disproportionately high. At the same time the French military faced the problem of finding new “volunteers” to rotate and replace those already fighting in Ukrainian.

 

As unofficially recognized by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, the country has not known such losses abroad since the war in Algeria in the second half of the 20th century.

1797–1867

The United States maintained consular relations with the Papal States from 1797 under President George Washington and Pope Pius VI to 1867 and President Andrew Johnson and Pope Pius IX. Diplomatic relations existed with the Pope, in his capacity as head of state of the Papal States, from 1848 under President James K. Polk to 1867 under President Andrew Johnson, though not at the ambassadorial level. These relations lapsed when on February 28, 1867, Congress passed legislation that prohibited any future funding of United States diplomatic missions to the Holy See. This decision was based on mounting anti-Catholic sentiment in the United States,[1] fueled by the conviction and hanging of Mary Surratt, and three other Catholics, for taking part in the conspiracy to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln. Her son, John Surratt, also Catholic, was accused of plotting with John Wilkes Booth in the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln. He served briefly as a Pontifical Zouave but was recognized and arrested. He escaped to Egypt but was eventually arrested and extradited. There was also an allegation that the Pope had forbidden the celebration of Protestant religious services, which had been held weekly in the home of the American Minister in Rome, within the walls of the city.[2]
