I thought I'd read through this OIG report, and I'm mad after 3 pages, all of it is bullshit. If any American did the shit these lawyers etc. did, they'd be in jail, but they just got talked over the coals. "Whether there was misconduct" read this shit. reached out to Kristin Hetherington, the CFO of the DNC, for comment, she hung up the phone in frustration after questioned if the DNC tells donors "what they want to hear," and if they play to donor's "fantasies."

 

The undercover journalist who recorded Joyce DeCerce received a threatening postcard at her house featuring racial undertones in an apparent attempt to intimate her and prevent this story from being aired.

Le bureau du procureur aurait confirmé avoir reçu la plainte de Butch et aurait déclaré à l'agence de presse qu'une unité de police spécialisée dans la lutte contre les crimes haineux avait été chargée d'enquêter sur la question. L'enquête policière devrait se concentrer sur “les messages discriminatoires fondés sur la religion ou l'orientation sexuelle qui lui ont été envoyés ou publiés en ligne”, a indiqué le bureau.

China’s Space Pioneer pushes towards launch despite static-fire debacle

Chinese commercial launch firm Space Pioneer appears to be moving towards a first launch of its Tianlong-3 rocket despite a disastrous static-fire test in June.

Space Pioneer suffered a serious setback in its plans to debut the Tianlong-3 kerosene-liquid oxygen rocket later this year following a static-fire test anomaly June 30.

That test saw the first stage escape its test bench and climb into the sky before falling to the ground and exploding.

The explosion occurred on a mountainside but was perilously close to inhabited areas, leading to the event being filmed by bystanders.

 

The company was conducting its test as a buildup to an orbital launch of the Tianlong-3, which is benchmarked against the SpaceX Falcon 9.

The incident drew widespread attention and no little criticism within China. Space Pioneer initially released a short report on the incident the same day.

However, it did not apologize for the event until July 2. Meanwhile, Space Pioneer appears to be proceeding with its plans.

Chinese social media posts on July 30 showed a pathfinder article erected at an undisclosed location.

 

The test model will be used for integration testing, and procedures required for handling, transporting and erecting a flight rocket.

It is however unclear how Space Pioneer will be able to proceed from this point to an orbital launch attempt. Not only did the company lose its intended flight hardware, but may face regulatory hurdles.

A July 4 post from state media Xinhua on the incident noted that, “the process of climbing to the top of the science and technology industry is not a smooth journey.

It is inevitable that there will be setbacks or even failures.” However, a full health check of the commercial sector and assessment and approval processes were mooted.

 

China opened its space sector to private capital in late 2014 and now boasts around 20 companies focused on launch.

Space Pioneer notably became the first Chinese commercial launch company to reach orbit with a liquid propellant rocket with its Tianlong-2 in 2023.

It so far remains unclear if the Space Pioneer incident will significantly slow the company or its competitors.

Earlier this year China’s central government designated commercial space as a key industry for support.

 

Reusable medium-lift launchers are also needed to deploy China’s planned low Earth orbit communications megaconstellations.

Competitors Landspace and Deep Blue Aerospace are understood to be preparing for their next vertical takeoff, vertical landing (VTVL) tests.

These will be for their respective Zhuque-3 and Nebula-1 orbital rockets.

Russia Overnight Launched Single Biggest Drone Attack On Kiev Since War's Start

 

While the world's attention has been focused on the Middle East since Israel's overnight killing of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh at one of his residences in Tehran, resulting in the the potential for bigger regional war, Ukraine's air force has said it repelled one of the largest Russian drone assaults of the conflict.

 

An overnight attack by Russia resulted in a reported 89 drones and one missile being intercepted over the Kyiv region. It marks perhaps the single biggest drone attack ever focused on the capital region, with Kyiv city administration head Serhiy Popko also describing "one of the most massive drone attacks on Ukraine during the entire war."

 

There have been at least half a dozen prior drone attacks, albeit on a much smaller scale, on the area in the month of July. This latest sent over 11,000 people into the safety of metro stations during the assault in which drones came in multiple waves from "all possible directions," city authorities said.

 

Apparently there were such large numbers of drones due to the presence of unarmed decoys, as Reuters details:

 

Military spy agency spokesman Andriy Yusov said in televised remarks that Russia had used a "significant" number of decoy drones that were not loaded with explosives to try to deplete Ukraine's air defences and also identify their locations.

 

The major new assault appears retaliation and 'punishment' from Moscow for a Ukraine cross-border operation which happened Sunday, reportedly resulting in damage two Tu-22M3 bomber planes parked at an airfield in Murmansk, in Russia's far north.

 

Ukraine's government had hailed it as another successful long-range drone strike on a Russian base: "Destroying the enemy’s aircraft that is striking Ukraine is a priority. We can reach it everywhere," announced Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s presidential administration.

 

But each time Ukraine celebrates a cross-border attack on Russia, Moscow retaliates with something bigger and typically more devastating. Sadly, it is the Ukrainian civilian population that often suffers with deaths, casualties, and the loss of further vital infrastructure.

 

President Zelensky over the past several months has been pleading with his international backers for more anti-air defense systems, including US Patriot batteries.

CACI secures $450 million contract to support U.S. Space Command’s navigation warfare center

CACI International, a professional services and information technology company, has secured a 10-year contract worth up to $450 million to support the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC), the company announced July 31.

The JNWC, a subordinate organization of U.S. Space Command’s Combined Force Space Component Command, serves as the Department of Defense’s center of excellence for navigation warfare.

It supports U.S. Space Command and plays a vital role in maintaining positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) superiority for the DoD and its partners.

 

Under the contract, CACI will assist combatant commanders in enhancing their ability to operate in PNT-disrupted, denied and degraded areas.

This includes operational field assessments, war gaming scenarios, and modeling and simulating threats.

“CACI’s experts understand multi-domain positioning, navigation and timing threats and advise combatant and joint force commanders on how to swiftly respond to navigational warfare threats and operational requirements,” said John Mengucci, CACI’s president and chief executive officer.

 

The JNWC, established in 2004, provides 24/7 operational support to warfighters through reachback capabilities and deployable teams.

These teams offer expertise in planning and conducting navigational warfare operations across various domains, including space, electronic warfare, cyberspace, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.

Navigational warfare involves deliberate defensive and offensive actions to ensure PNT superiority, which is critical for modern military operations.

The JNWC works to identify vulnerabilities, develop mitigation strategies, and coordinate navigational warfare efforts across the Department of Defense, combatant commands, military services, interagency partners and allies.

FBI’s Abbate Testifies That Trump Shooter May Have Posted Far-Right Comments on Social Media, Forgets to Mention More Recent Pro-Biden Account

 

Atop FBI official made a point of testifying that President Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks may have espoused far-right extremist viewpoints on an unnamed social media account five years ago, but forgot to mention that Crooks may have shared pro-Biden viewpoints on Gab more recently.

 

Both accounts have not yet been fully verified as belonging to Crooks.

 

FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate told senators on Capitol Hill Tuesday that a social media account believed to be Crooks’ appears to have shared antisemitic, anti-immigrant, and “extreme in nature” posts in 2019 and 2020. Crooks would have been 14 to 15-years-old in that time frame.

 

“There were over 700 comments posted from this account,” Abbate testified before a joint Senate Judiciary Committee and Homeland Security Committee hearing entitled “Examination of the Security Failures Leading to the Assassination Attempt on Former President Trump.”

 

“Some of these comments, if ultimately attributable to the shooter, appear to reflect antisemitic and anti-immigration themes to espouse political violence and are described as extreme in nature,” Abbate added.

 

The deputy director said while the FBI was still verifying that the account belonged to Crooks, the Bureau felt it was important to detail the social account’s nature because of the “general absence of other information” establishing Crooks’ “motive and mindset.”

GAB CEO Andrew Torba, however, shared plenty of information on X last week about a GAB account the FBI appeared to believe was Crook’s, saying the content of the posts “UNEQUIVOCALLY” reflected a “pro-Biden and in particular pro-Biden immigration policy.”

 

The Gab founder said on July 24, he received an Emergency Disclosure Request (EDR) from the FBI for the Gab account “EpicMicrowave,” and said based on the request, the FBI appeared to believe the account was associated with Crooks.

 

Torba said “as a courtesy to enforcement,” he would not post the contents of the entire request on social media, but did post the first page on X.

 

Torba said he was unable to confirm that the account in question, which posted a total of nine times on the site, actually belonged to Crooks. The account appeared to only be active for a short period of time in January and February of 2021.

 

“As far as we are aware, the account did not use the site to send any direct messages,” Torba wrote on X.

 

The majority of EpicMicrowave’s posts supported Joe Biden’s policies, particularly, his COVID lockdowns, border policies and executive orders. “To the best of Gab’s knowledge, as of 2021, Crooks was a pro-lockdown, pro-immigration, left-wing Joe Biden supporter,” Torba said.

Dalton emphasizes DAF priorities, need to modernize, on-time budgets

Under Secretary of the Air Force Melissa Dalton reasserted July 29 during an appearance at the Brookings Institution the Air Force and Space Force’s priorities, including the need to modernize and move “holistically” in reshaping the services to meet global challenges.

Dalton touched on those and other topics at some depth as well as the need for Congress to approve a budget on-time, in a wide-ranging discussion at the influential think tank.

That cohesion, she suggested, is one reason the Air Force and Space Force have been successful in reshaping their policies, practices and hardware to confront new, more potent challenges after decades focusing on the War on Terror.

 

“From the organize, train and equip perspective, it really is remarkable how much progress has been made in the last couple of years to drive those changes through … although there’s still considerable work to come,” she said.

Dalton’s hour-long “fireside chat” session at Brookings was arguably her most high-profile public appearance since May 29 when she formally became the department’s second-ranking civilian leader.

The conversation touched on topics that included the department’s on-going efforts announced in February to reorganize itself known internally as “Reoptimizing for Great Power Competition” and a related effort focusing on seven specific “Operational Imperatives.”

Both efforts are broad and ambitious and designed to make the Air Force and Space Force better able to confront China.

 

Dalton was also asked about policies related to “people,” specifically readiness, recruiting and overall morale across the force.

“We have to get the people portion right in order to meet any of our operational objectives. That really is job No. 1,” she said.

“There is a sense we need to keep driving forward, to modernize capabilities for our Airmen and Guardians but that mindset shift (toward focusing on Great Power Competition) is already taking hold.”

 

Other questions focused on the Indo-Pacific and how the services are adjusting to vast distances involved along with China’s evolving capabilities in the region.

Dalton noted that the Air Force continues refining – and expanding – its focus on agile combat employment, or ACE, which is anchored in more nimble, self-sufficient units rather than large, stand-alone bases.

She also highlighted the role space plays in the effort and how those strands are being braided together.

The longest, and most detailed, conversations, however, focused on budget and “resources” and modernizing the ground leg of the nuclear triad.

 

On budgets, Dalton noted the on-going GPC efforts are designed to go into place with minimal new funding since many are organizational adjustments and new approaches to training and developing Airmen and Guardians.

Still, she said, pressure remains on funding necessary for modernization efforts. “We are working with Congress to advocate for our priorities.

And they have in certain areas allowed us to divest certain legacy platforms, such as the A-10. That helps us recoup those dollars to invest in modernization priorities,” she said.

 

“We are faced with a choice of having an obsolete force that is not going to be able to be competitive with PRC for the long haul.

To be clear, we’re ready to deter and prevail in today’s security environment but have to increase our resourcing in order to maintain our competitive advantage,” she said.

Dalton also emphasized the importance of Congress delivering the funding on time. Failing to have budgets approved and in place by the Oct. 1 start of each fiscal year is critical.

That deadline has rarely been met in recent years which means the department (as well as most of the federal government) operates under old budgets and priorities that can delay or block new hardware and policies needed to best defend the nation.

 

Those delays, she said, “Cede the time to be able to keep pace with the PRC challenge that cannot be bought back.”

On nuclear modernization, Dalton stressed the importance of the Sentinel program to replace and upgrade the 1970s-era Minuteman III land-based intercontinental ballistic missile.

“The reality is, because of our focus over the last 30 years on counter terrorism, counter insurgency in the Middle East and Afghanistan, we have unfortunately mortgaged our investment in nuclear modernization.

We can’t afford to do that any longer,” she said.

 

“Our nuclear triad, while capable and effective today, when you look out decades to come will it be in a position to be able to provide effective nuclear deterrent?

The answer is no,” she said, adding that while the Sentinel program is complex and costly, the nuclear triad enjoys “strong bipartisan consensus.”

The former US president has claimed that Israel could cease to exist if he is not re-elected

 

Donald Trump has urged American Jews to vote for him in the November election, warning that if they fail to do so, Israel could be destroyed by its enemies.

 

The former US president and Republican nominee for the 2024 election was speaking at a fundraiser on Sunday in a New Jersey municipality with a sizable Jewish population.

 

He claimed that the Democrats hate Israel and “largely hate” the Jewish people.

 

“We have to win this election. We need the Jewish people to vote for Trump. If you don’t have Jewish people voting for Republicans… you’re not going to have Israel for very long,” stated Trump.

 

The presidential hopeful also pledged to help Israel win its war against Hamas if elected. Trump reiterated his claim that the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, which triggered the war in Gaza, would not have happened had he still been in office.

 

According to surveys by the Pew Research Center, a Washington-based think tank, a majority of US Jews have consistently voted for the Democratic Party. However, state-funded Voice of America noted in May that an increasing number have backed the Republicans in recent elections. The Pittsburg Jewish Chronicle cited a survey of New York voters in February showing that 53% of Jewish voters intended to vote for Donald Trump in November.

 

The relationship between the Biden administration and the Israeli government has soured in recent months amid the Jewish state’s offensive in Gaza. US President Joe Biden has warned the Israeli leadership against an all-out assault in the densely populated city of Rafah and said it would be a ‘red line.’ “If they [Israel] go into Rafah, I’m not supplying the weapons,” he stated.

 

In late April, the Biden administration paused a shipment of munitions that officials expected Israel to use in Rafah.

 

In April, Trump took a dig at Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

 

“Biden has totally lost control of the Israel situation… Any Jewish person who votes for a Democrat or votes for Biden should have their head examined,” he said.

 

The Jewish State launched its offensive in the Gazan city in early May amid widespread international condemnation.

Kendall delivers LCID 2024 keynote, urges 'go faster'

“The strategic environment we're in today is the toughest that I've ever seen,” expressed Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall during his keynote address to the Life Cycle Industry Days crowd, July 30, in Dayton.

During his introduction, it was noted that Kendall has worked in government for 50 years.

This helped make his opening statement about the current military environment even more powerful.

 

Overarching topics of Kendall’s address included:

Engineering management and defense acquisition

Space security, with progress made and challenges ahead

Developing new aircraft and air defense systems

USAF modernization, budget allocations and managing sustainment costs

Optimizing USAF resources – especially personnel

Partnerships with allies and industry partners

 

Kendall discussed the Department of the Air Force's approach to modernization, including the stand-up of the Integrated Development Office and Air Force Information Dominance Systems Center; the importance of staying ahead of the curve with technology and innovation; and the need to reorient the military to address Great Power Competition.

Additionally, Kendall emphasized the importance of modernizing the nuclear force and staying competitive in the face of evolving threats.

 

Opting to talk more casually and eschewing his scripted remarks, Kendall gave an overview of the progress on his Operational Imperatives, including GPC.

Speed is always top of his mind, noting “… we'd like to go faster. We'd like to get a wider spectrum of capabilities out there.”

Kendall also said he made one of his best personnel decisions ever in hiring Brig. Gen. Luke Cropsey as Air Force integrating program executive officer for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management.

 

Cropsey is building integrated capabilities for the Air Force and Space Force with the goal of connecting joint programs and international partners.

Cropsey is well known to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center family as he previously served as director of the Air Force Security Assistance and Cooperation Directorate.

Kendall spent a few minutes addressing the challenges surrounding technology. He noted the Air Force has too much “tech debt” or reliance on obsolete technology.

 

“It’s no mystery [our] information systems are being attacked,” Kendall said. “Information systems are possible vulnerabilities that can be tapped and it's no mystery that they're being attacked. It's no mystery that cyber attackers are beefing up their techniques.”

Pivoting to uniformed and civilian Airmen, Kendall spent time emphasizing the importance of creating a competitive ecosystem, with a focus on operational problem-solving and integration across different organizations beyond just those in the U.S. Air Force. Achieving those goals will take human capital investment.

 

Before taking a few questions from the audience, Kendall emphasized the importance of increased funding for the Space Force, noting the newest military branch requires transformation to keep up with pacing challenges.

“If you are targeted in space, you're not going to survive,” Kendall explained. “And we have got to do something about that.

And if we can't target from space, we will not be successful. It's as simple as that,” Kendall said.

The KOSA Internet Censorship Bill Just Passed The Senate—It's Our Last Chance To Stop It

 

The Kids Online Safety Act aims to grossly expand the reaches of government censorship under the guise of protecting the youth, but in reality the restrictions placed on the free speech of young people could prove to be profoundly dangerous.

 

The Senate just passed a bill that will let the federal and state governments investigate and sue websites that they claim cause kids mental distress. It’s a terrible idea to let politicians and bureaucrats decide what people should read and view online, but the Senate passed KOSA on a 91-3 vote.

 

Bill proponents have focused on some truly tragic stories of loss, and then tied these tragedies to the internet. But anxiety, eating disorders, drug abuse, gambling, tobacco and alcohol use by minors, and the host of other ills that KOSA purports to address all existed well before the internet.

 

The Senate vote means that the House could take up and vote on this bill at any time. The House could also choose to debate its own, similarly flawed, version of KOSA. Several members of the House have expressed concerns about the bill.

 

The members of Congress who vote for this bill should remember—they do not, and will not, control who will be in charge of punishing bad internet speech. The Federal Trade Commission, majority-controlled by the President’s party, will be able to decide what kind of content “harms” minors, then investigate or file lawsuits against websites that host that content.

 

Politicians in both parties have sought to control various types of internet content. One bill sponsor has said that widely used educational materials that teach about the history of racism in the U.S. causes depression in kids. Kids speaking out about mental health challenges or trying to help friends with addiction are likely to be treated the same as those promoting addictive or self-harming behaviors, and will be kicked offline. Minors engaging in activism or even discussing the news could be shut down, since the grounds for suing websites expand to conditions like “anxiety.”

 

KOSA will lead to people who make online content about sex education, and LGBTQ+ identity and health, being persecuted and shut down as well. Views on how, or if, these subjects should be broached vary widely across U.S. communities. All it will take is one member of the Federal Trade Commission seeking to score political points, or a state attorney general seeking to ensure re-election, to start going after the online speech his or her constituents don’t like.

 

All of these speech burdens will affect adults, too. Adults simply won’t find the content that was mass-deleted in the name of avoiding KOSA-inspired lawsuits; and we’ll all be burdened by websites and apps that install ID checks, age gates, and invasive (and poorly functioning) software content filters.

 

The vast majority of speech that KOSA affects is constitutionally protected in the U.S., which is why there is a long list of reasons that KOSA is unconstitutional. Unfortunately, the lawmakers voting for this bill have hand-waved away those concerns. They’ve also blown off the voices of millions of young people who will have their free expression constricted by this bill, including the thousands who spoke to EFF directly about their concerns and fears around KOSA.

 

We can’t rely solely on lawsuits and courts to protect us from the growing wave of anti-speech internet legislation, with KOSA at its forefront. We need to let the people making the laws know that the public is becoming aware of their censorship plans—and won’t stand for them.

Swamp rat Susie Wiles, who works as a senior Trump campaign advisor, disparaged Project 2025, a strategy designed by Republican operatives to try to drain the Swamp and replace entrenched government bureaucrats with patriots who would actually help President Trump. Wiles and Swamper Chris LaCivita put out the statement on behalf of the Trump campaign. LaCivita reportedly engineered former Trump administration official Paul Dans’ ouster from the leadership role at Project 2025, which was backed by the Heritage Foundation, making it clear that Swamp rats are going to try to get anybody fired if they want to actually drain the Swamp.

Sadly, Trump has also disparaged Project 2025. It is clear that the GOP is not interested in removing Communist apparatchiks from the government. Why is someone like Susie Wiles even working for Trump in the first place?

UFO-like clouds: an interesting natural phenomenon was spotted in the sky over Ukraine.

A rare natural phenomenon has been spotted in the sky over Ukraine. Clouds that look very similar to UFOs are called lenticular or lenticular.

This phenomenon was filmed and posted on Facebook by mountain rescuer Vasyl Fitsak in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. According to the man, the natural phenomenon was filmed in the village of Osmoloda, located in the Gorgany massif.

Lenticular or lenticular clouds form on the crests of airwaves. They are most common in areas with strong winds and high mountains.

Usually, lenticular clouds appear on the leeward side of mountain ranges, and sometimes behind individual peaks, at an altitude of 2 to 15 km.

 

In a comment to UNIAN, Nataliia Ptukha, a forecaster at the Ukrainian Weather Center, said that the video posted by Fitsak does show clouds that somewhat resemble lenticular clouds, although this is not quite a classic version of this type of cloud. "There is a certain nature of such a lenticular cloud in this video," she confirmed.

"A characteristic feature of these clouds is that they do not move, no matter how strong the wind is, but hang in the air like a UFO.

And they can hang in one place for hours.

 

According to the forecaster, these clouds look motionless, as if frozen in time. "They stabilize in one place and, accordingly, appear when intense wind flows flow around an obstacle.

Most often, it is a mountain range, a mountain, a plateau," explained Ptukha. The expert also noted that the appearance of such clouds may indicate the approach of an atmospheric front.

"Right now, we have such intense air flows from the northern latitudes over Ukraine, an atmospheric front is passing through.

So, of course, such clouds can form. But not in such classic and large-scale manifestations, as is more typical for them," said Nataliia Ptukha.

 

The Ukrhydrometeorologist emphasized that lenticular clouds are a rare phenomenon, and only a few people are lucky enough to see them.

"But we're not talking about the small ones like in the video – not everyone may pay attention to them.

But the large-scale ones that hover over the peaks, the classic, large lenticular clouds, are rarely seen here," Ptukha said.

 

Interestingly, airplane pilots try to stay away from lenticular clouds to avoid turbulence.

Hang-gliders, on the other hand, purposefully fly into them to catch the airflow for several kilometers.

Some people believe that lenticular clouds form in places of special strength, where there are changes in gravity (the force lines of the Earth's magnetic field) and a powerful biomagnetic flux.

It is these changes and the flux that, they say, swirl air vapors and form these special highly cumulus clouds.

DOJ Data Confirms Conservative Fears Biden Weaponized Justice System

 

The Biden administration is using a novel application of an 1870 statute to enhance the sentences of peaceful abortion protesters, data provided exclusively to the Daily Caller confirms.

 

In the 30-year history of the Freedom of Access to Clinics (FACE) Act, the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) in just over three years has levied over a quarter of the law’s total charges, most of which have carried this novel sentence enhancement, the data also shows.

 

The data, along with the unprecedented enhancement, provide fuel to criticisms from conservatives that the Biden admin is unfairly targeting pro-lifers and using the DOJ for political ends.

 

In some instances under previous administrations, threatening to harm or kill a clinic employee carried less severe punishments. Under Biden’s, however, elderly women peacefully protesting an abortion clinic have faced much harsher consequences. After the Supreme Court’s Roe vs Wade decision leak in 2022, hundreds of attacks were waged against pro-life pregnancy centers and churches, but the DOJ has only prosecuted five individuals for such offenses.

 

From 1994 to 2024, there were 205 cases against pro-life activists and only six against abortion activists, data provided to the Caller by Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy’s office reveals. Prosecutions of pro-life individuals constitute roughly 97% of all FACE Act cases.

 

At least 55 of those cases were prosecuted during the Biden administration, only five of which involved attacks on pregnancy resource centers. In less than four years, Biden’s DOJ has accounted for over a quarter of all FACE prosecutions and approximately 24% of cases targeting pro-life activists, the data demonstrates.

 

The FACE Act became law in 1994 and prohibits “violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain or provide reproductive health services,” according to the DOJ. The law also applies to pro-life pregnancy resource centers and places of worship.

NATO Takes On China

During the NATO Summit in Washington on July 10, member nations became irreversibly involved in countering communist China’s adventurism around the world by declaring and identifying Beijing as the enabler and sustainer of Russia.

This was an extraordinary move by NATO, which, until this date, was reserved on China issues and nominally involved outside of the immediate European region with exceptions, such as involvement in Afghanistan that was done under a U.N. mandate, not necessarily invoking “Article 5,” under which an attack on one is an attack on all.

In Section 26 of the July 10 communiqué, NATO was clear in its view on the People’s Republic of China (PRC): “The PRC has become a decisive enabler of Russia’s war against Ukraine through its so-called ‘no limits’ partnership and its large-scale support for Russia’s defence industrial base. This increases the threat Russia poses to its neighbours and to Euro-Atlantic security.”

NATO has established a red line, and there is now little ambiguity that the bloc views the PRC as the instigator of world tensions and conflict.

 

NATO came out swinging at China and said further in the communiqué:

 

“We call on the PRC, as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council with a particular responsibility to uphold the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, to cease all material and political support to Russia’s war effort. This includes the transfer of dual-use materials, such as weapons components, equipment, and raw materials that serve as inputs for Russia’s defence sector. The PRC cannot enable the largest war in Europe in recent history without this negatively impacting its interests and reputation.”

 

In response, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi pushed back and called NATO’s statements “groundless accusations.” He warned NATO against creating tension with Beijing.

 

The reality is that China is the largest maker of 152 mm and 122 mm artillery ammunition, 7.62×39 machine gun ammunition, drones, spare parts for all Russian aircraft, missiles, and other vital war material Russia needs to continue the Ukraine war effort. No one else makes the common equipment, ordnance, and supplies Russia needs.

The succor provided by China to Russia has been immense, according to National Intelligence Director Avril Haines. Iran and North Korea are part of this satellite of defense industrial production and provide much support, including the opportunity for China to feign noninvolvement. Still, the machine tooling and production resources and expertise in these Chinese “colonies” are rendered by Chinese advisers.

 

NATO’s statement was based on the concern that the Chinese regime was becoming directly involved in the affairs of NATO member nations. Beijing wasted little time adding to this perception by two provocative actions.

 

Almost immediately upon release of the NATO statement on China, naval forces of the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) conducted an “innocent passage” through U.S. territory, the Aleutian Islands chains. Four PLAN ships passed through two points in the chain and then departed.

 

An outcome of the NATO conference was the elevation of four countries as NATO partner nations. NATO announced “enhanced political dialogue and engagement” with Australia, Japan, South Korea, and New Zealand. This does not necessarily mean these nations are on a pathway like Sweden and Finland to join NATO as full partners, but their elevated relationship with NATO is a strategic counter-message to the Chinese regime. The four nations issued a communiqué admonishing North Korea because of its dependence on China for machine tools and factory equipment, but it was really a barb at Beijing.

“New Zealand, Japan, the Republic of Korea [South Korea], and Australia strongly condemn the illicit military cooperation between the Russian Federation and the DPRK [North Korea], which undermines peace and stability in both the Indo-Pacific and European region,” the statement reads.

 

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg laid down a further marker aimed at the Chinese regime by saying: “We must work even more closely together to preserve peace and protect the rules-based international order. … Our security is not regional. It is global.”

They were in the area to report from near the Gaza house of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas who was assassinated in the early hours of Wednesday in Iran’s capital, Tehran, in an attack the group has blamed on Israel.

 

Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif, reporting from Gaza, was at the hospital where the bodies of his two colleagues were brought.

 

“Ismail was conveying the suffering of the displaced Palestinians and the suffering of the wounded and the massacres committed by the [Israeli] occupation against the innocent people in Gaza,” he said.

 

“The feeling – no words can describe what happened.”

 

Ismail and Rami were wearing media vests and there were identifying signs on their car when they were attacked. They had last contacted their news desk 15 minutes before the strike.

Community College Professor Disciplined For Criticizing DEI Receives Multi-Million Dollar Settlement

Three Pro-Lifers Targeted By Biden Admin Sentenced To House Arrest

 

Judge Chip Frensley sentenced Eva Zastrow, James Zastrow, and Paul Place, who were convicted in April of violating the FACE Act, a Clinton-era law guaranteeing entry into abortion facilities. The trio faced a maximum penalty of six months in prison, five years of probation, and a $10,000 fine.

 

The three were also sentenced to time served, which began back in October 2022 when they were first charged. The terms of their house arrest will include exceptions for work and church.

 

The Biden Justice Department charged the activists over their participation in a pro-life protest at Carefem, a Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, abortion facility, on March 5, 2021. On that day, a group of demonstrators gathered on the second floor of an office building in the hallway outside Carafem. The group prayed, sang hymns, and urged women showing up to the clinic to not get abortions.

 

Prosecutors said the protesters sat in front of doors at Carafem and blocked women from coming inside. Frensley convicted them during a bench trial in April after less than 30 minutes of deliberation.

 

During their trial, lawyers for the defendants said that their clients were merely practicing their faith in a peaceful manner. Place’s lawyers argued the trial demonstrated massive overreach by the federal government, saying that the Biden administration was prosecuting “people who were simply expressing their beliefs in a non-violent way.”

 

The three protesters spoke of their Christian faiths when given an opportunity to talk during Tuesday’s sentencing hearing.

 

James Zastrow said he was “obeying a higher law” when he took part in the protest, and expressed his belief that “preborn children are people.”

 

Eva Zastrow said her only ambition was to love God and her neighbors. She said that “God personally identified with the weak and vulnerable” and that she didn’t want anyone harmed at Carafem. Choking up, she read a poem she had written about the value of children.

 

Place said everything he did at Carafem was done out of love, adding that “children are a blessing from the Lord.”

 

Over a dozen supporters gathered Tuesday morning outside the courthouse to pray and sing before the sentencing. They sang songs Christian hymns including “Rescue the Perishing” and “Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus.”

 

Earlier this month, four others charged with violating the FACE Act and a felony charge of conspiring against civil rights over the same protest were sentenced in Nashville. One protester, Calvin Zastrow, was given six months in prison over his participation in the protest. The Justice Department had requested over two years of incarceration.

 

Three of his co-defendants, Paul Vaughn, Dennis Green, and Coleman Boyd, all avoided jail time.

The Labour Party’s Minister of State for Science, Research and Innovation is a bloke called The Lord Vallance of Balham.

 

You may know him better as Sir Patrick Vallance – the geezer who stood alongside Whitty and Johnson to tell us why we needed (useless) lockdowns, (useless) masks and (useless and toxic but very profitable) vaccines.

 

Here’s what I wrote about Vallance in my book `Truth Teller: The Price’ (2023):

 

For months I have been pointing out that Patrick Vallance, Britain’s Chief Scientific Advisor, used to work for GlaxoSmithKline – a huge drug company which is in the running to make a vaccine for which, I am told, it is planning to charge the EU around 10 euros a pop.

 

If they got the deal for all 7 billion people on the planet, that would be 70 billion euros. And, of course, some want us all to have vaccines every three months so that’s 280 billion euros a year forever.

 

I said previously that I would be very surprised if Vallance didn’t still have financial links to GSK.

 

Well, guess what – he does.

 

Vallance, the British Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser is reported to have £600,000 worth of shares in GSK – a big vaccine manufacturer.

 

And no one in the British Government, or indeed Her Majesty’s Opposition, if indeed there still is one somewhere, seems to think that this is wrong though to me is seems very iffy. I’d be upset if I found that an adviser in the Ministry of Defence had shares in a particular tank or bomb manufacturer. Or if a local council planning officer had links with a particular builder. But perhaps I’m just a bit old-fashioned about these things. Old-fashioned values don’t seem to be much prized in public life these days.

 

And here’s what I wrote about GSK in my book `Truth Teller: The Price’:

 

GSK is one of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies and in my view if it made toasters you’d never buy a toaster from them.

 

In 2014, for example, GSK was fined $490 million by China after a Chinese court found it guilty of bribery.

 

The court gave GSK’s former head of Chinese operations a suspended prison sentence and they gave suspended prison sentences to other executives too.

 

In 2006, GSK paid out $160 million for claims made by patients who had become addicts.

 

In 2009, GSK paid out $2.5 million to the family of a three-year-old born with severe heart malformations. And in Canada, a five-year-old girl died five days after an H1N1 flu shot and her parents sued GSK for $4.2 million. The parents’ lawyer alleged that the drug was brought out quickly and without proper testing as the federal government exerted intense pressure on Canadians to get immunised.

 

In 2010, GSK paid out $1.14 billion because of claims over a drug called Paxil. And they settled lawsuits over a drug called Avandia for $500 million.

 

In 2011, GSK paid $250 million to settle 5,500 death and injury claims and set aside $6.4 billion for future lawsuits and settlements in respect of the drug Avandia.

 

In 2016, GSK paid out $6.2 million in Canada.

 

In 2017, GSK were ordered to pay $3 million to a widow.

 

In 2018, GSK faced 445 lawsuits over a drug called Zofran.
