The FBI seized Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan’s phone and electronics early Wednesday morning — just a week after the election-betting platform successfully predicted President-elect Donald Trump’s win, The Post has learned.

 

The 26-year-old entrepreneur was woken up at 6:00 a.m. in his Soho home by law US enforcement officers who demanded his phone and electronics, a source close to the matter told The Post.

 

It’s “grand political theater at its worst,” the source told The Post. “They could have asked his lawyer for any of these things. Instead, they staged a so-called raid so they can leak it to the media and use it for obvious political reasons.”

 

Coplan was not provided any reason for the incident, but the source said they expect it is political retribution since Polymarket accurately predicted Trump’s win – not traditional polls.

 

The government is likely trying to accuse Polymarket of market manipulation and rigging its polls in favor of Trump, the source said.

New York City (NYC) is America’s largest ‘sanctuary city’ for migrants. Since 2022, NYC has received over 200,000 migrants. Only 2,000 migrants have been connected with jobs in the City. NYC has spent $6.11 billion on the migrant crisis.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams is offering asylum seekers 1-way tickets to leave the City, and 47,000 one-way tickets have been issued.

 

NYC Mayor Adams lost his lawsuit that sought to block the state of Texas from offering migrants free bus rides to NYC. The judge ruled the law that was cited was unconstitutional.

 

Despite the failure of progressive immigration policies, New York Governor Kathy Hochul is doubling down on pro-immigration policies and announced that 18,000 jobs were available to asylum seekers, but the jobs appear to not exist. Deep blue Democrat states are rebelling against the election of Donald Trump and plan to resist every immigration policy that Trump will try to enact.

Anthony Nephew, 46, is believed to have shot to death his former partner, Erin Abramson and their son, Jacob Nephew, 15, and then went to his home and killed his wife, Kathryn Nephew, and their 7-year-old son Oliver Nephew before committing suicide. Before his rampage, Anthony Nephew had been sharing left-wing and anti-Trump posts on his Facebook account. He accused Republicans of “making it harder for women to leave” abusive relationships in a social media post. In 2021, he wrote an op-ed in the local Duluth news that included this waring: “For millions of Americans, a breakdown leads to suicide — or homicide before suicide.” Police have not yet determined a motive in the shootings.

Bankman-Fried lieutenant builds fraud detection tool for prosecutors

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The former FTX executive who wrote computer code that enabled his imprisoned former boss Sam Bankman-Fried to steal billions of dollars from cryptocurrency customers has built software to help the U.S. government uncover fraud in the stock market.

 

Federal prosecutors made the disclosure in a Wednesday court filing seeking leniency for Gary Wang, FTX's former chief technology officer, at his scheduled Nov. 20 sentencing before U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan.

 

Wang is also building a tool to help spot crime on cryptocurrency exchanges, according to the filing.

 

"The tool has sufficient potential value to the government," the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan said. "Wang's willingness to use his skills proactively, to help detect other criminal activity in financial markets, distinguishes his cooperation."

Then when we were done with dinner, a man that was leaving came up and said that whoever voted for Trump was going to be sorry and maybe he should move to Canada.

President Trump Announces Steven C. Witkoff as Special Envoy to the Middle East

If you look at the structure of the announcements, there does appear to be a strategy at play; yes, including the likelihood of Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.

 

Using the announcement of Steven C. Witkoff to be Special Envoy to the Middle East, I’ll try to put it together.

If President Trump pulls Marco Rubio out of the Senate, he opens up the position of Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI). Rubio would love the opportunity to load his presidential aspiration resume with Secretary of State, for later use.However, this also opens the opportunity for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to appoint an interim senatorwho would be more MAGA-minded, trustworthy and loyal (dare I say Gaetz).

 

With Rubio removed from the equation of the IC problem, the issue becomes mitigating (think neutering) the Secretary of State from undermining the Trump Doctrine; which, as you know, is the key Trump foreign policy approach using economic power combined with diplomacy.

 

President Trump has long expressed being sick and tired of U.S. mid-east policy, endless wars, endless spending etc. President Trump in term-1 created the Abraham Accords to establish long-term peace and stability in the region, as a countermeasure to all the prior administrations stirring shit up there. Essentially, the Abraham Accords create peace, get us out and allow policy to focus on more pressing foreign concerns, vis-a-vis China.

 

President Trump constrains Rubio in the mid-east by putting Steven C. Witkoff as Special Envoy to the Middle East. Essentially, neutering any intervention that might be launched by the IC agenda supported by the neocon wing of Rubio. Trump does this directly from the White House.

That puts Rubio’s role as Secretary of State focused on Europe and Asia, both regions where President Trump has already outlined the benefits of the Trump Doctrine in creating a peace deal in Ukraine and economically neutering Chinese aggression (like he did in North Korea).

 

While many of us do not like the thought of Rubio as Secretary of State, the value in removing Rubio from the SSCI is quite significant.

 

While the Rubio announcement has not been officially made, the likelihood of it increases with this appointment of Steven C. Witkoff to be Special Envoy to the Middle East. It just makes sense.

 

Secretary Rubio becomes the Maître d’ to a newly branded restaurant with a private dining room he is not permitted to enter. Meanwhile, CIA Director John Ratcliffe is the new chef in the back of the house, changing the menu and charting a new, fresher culinary experience. It becomes likely everyone gets the same menu and experience now.

 

I can find cautious optimism in this strategy. Frankly, getting Rubio out of the Chair position is a pretty big deal.

Banks flood US debt market in biggest single-day raise since 2016, BMO says

(Reuters) - Banks raised $23.5 billion by issuing investment-grade bonds on Tuesday, the biggest debt issuance by financial institutions in a single day since the beginning of 2016, as they anticipate potentially higher interest rates next year.

 

The $23.5 billion in debt issued by financial institutions accounted for 78% of Tuesday's total $30.15 billion in high-grade bond sales, which was the fifth-largest day of overall issuance in 2024, according to a Wednesday report by BMO Capital Markets.

 

"From yesterday's flood of issuance, it seems like banks are issuing bonds now to get ahead of what could happen next year with rates" under President-elect Donald Trump's administration, said Jack McIntyre, global fixed income portfolio manager at Brandywine Global.

 

"(We) will have to see what happens with risk, assets, uncertainty and volatility the rest of the year into the new year."

 

Tuesday's largest note offering came from HSBC, which sold $6.5 billion in bonds to fund a tender offer for the bank's notes due in 2025 and 2026, according to International Financing Review.

 

Other banks that issued debt on Tuesday include BNP Paribas SA, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Huntington Bancshares, Societe Generale and Westpac.

Trump Expected To Appoint Ukraine Peace Envoy Soon: Fox News

 

President-elect Donald Trump has long promised to immediately negotiate an end to the Russia-Ukraine war upon entering office. Fox News is reporting Wednesday that toward this end he may "soon" appoint a Ukrainian peace envoy to head this up.

 

"You're going to see a very senior special envoy, someone with a lot of credibility, who will be given a task to find a resolution, to get to a peace settlement," one of several sources told Fox. The person previewed that the appointment will happen "in short order."

 

Fox notes that "The job is not expected to be a salaried role - from 2017 to 2019, Kurt Volker had served as special representative to Ukrainian negotiations on a volunteer basis."

 

This comes amid the last couple days of new members of Trump's future administration being announced. Many Trump supporters have observed that hawks have filled up key posts so far - with most being known especially for their stridently pro-Israel positions, such as Pete Hegseth, nominated for Defense Secretary. Steven Witkoff has also been named as special envoy for the Middle East.

 

Over the weekend a Washington Post report said Trump held his first phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin wherein Trump warned the Russian leader not to escalate in Ukraine. Strangely, the Kremlin is denying that the phone call ever took place.

 

As for what a potential Trump peace plan for Ukraine might look like, the WSJ days ago revealed that a main option being considered would see a 'freeze' on the war, which to Kiev's dismay would involve "cementing Russia’s seizure of roughly 20 percent of Ukraine" while imposing a 20-year suspension on Ukraine pursuing NATO membership.

 

Informal Trump adviser Elon Musk responded to a report about that plan on X, writing that "The senseless killing will end soon. Time is up for the warmonger profiteers."

New York governor to relaunch Manhattan congestion charge plan, source says

 

(Reuters) - New York Governor Kathy Hochul on Thursday plans to announce the state plans to revive a congestion charge in Manhattan that she indefinitely put on hold in June, a source told Reuters.

 

New York City's congestion pricing program, the first of its kind in the U.S., was initially to have charged a toll of $15 during daytime hours for passenger vehicles driving in Manhattan south of 60th Street starting June 30. Hochul plans to announce a revised program is expected to have a base charge of $9 for passenger cars, the source said. The plan was reported earlier by media outlet Gothamist.

The FBI seized Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan’s phone and electronics early Wednesday morning — just a week after the election-betting platform successfully predicted President-elect Donald Trump’s win, The Post has learned.

 

The 26-year-old entrepreneur was woken up at 6:00 a.m. in his Soho home by lawUS enforcement officers who demanded his phone and electronics, a source close to the matter told The Post.

 

It’s “grand political theater at its worst,” the source told The Post. “They could have asked his lawyer for any of these things.Instead, they staged a so-called raidso they can leak it to the media and use it for obvious political reasons.”

 

Coplan was not provided any reason for the incident, but the source said they expect it is politicalretributionsince Polymarket accurately predicted Trump’s win – not traditional polls.

 

The government is likely trying to accuse Polymarket of market manipulation and rigging its polls in favor of Trump, the source said.

 

“This is obvious political retribution by theoutgoing administrationagainst Polymarket for providing a market that correctly called the 2024 presidential election,” the source said.

 

“Polymarket is a fully transparent prediction market that helps everyday people better understand the events that matter most to them, including elections,” a Polymarket spokesperson told The Post in a statement.

 

“We charge no fees, take no trading positions, and allow observers from around the world to analyze all market data as a public good.”

 

Coplan was not arrested, the source said.

 

The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Since Waltz wrote the letter, Sir Keir Starmer‘s far-left Labour Party has taken control of the British government and announced Chagos will be ceded to Mauritius—against the wishes of the Chagossians—next year. Starmer has seemingly asked for nothing in exchange and will, in fact, make payments to Mauritius to facilitate the transfer. However, the British will supposedly be authorized to continue exercising sovereign rights over Diego Garcia, guaranteeing the status of its British-American base.

SECURITY THREAT.

Brexit leader Nigel Farage and others have warned China could be authorized to establish a base on another island in the Chagos Archipelago, badly undermining U.S. security even if control over Diego Garcia is retained. Consequently, President-elect Trump’s transition team is seeking legal advice on whether the transfer to Mauritius can be derailed.

“Trump has received a UK-sourced briefing on Chagos and has asked the presidential transition team to work with the Pentagon to get legal advice. He has expressed a stance in principle to object to the deal if elected on the advice of the Department of Defence based on their global security posture,” a transition team source told the British media.

“There is, I can assure you, having been in America last week, knowing also the incoming defense secretary [Pete Hegseth] very well, there is outright hostility to this deal,” Farage said of the transfer on Wednesday. “Whatever is said about a lease agreement, as we saw with Hong Kong, these agreements can very, very easily be broken,” he added.
